#so like#physical therapy and medical stuff has been cutting into my sleep for three weeks now#and yesterday we were up to like noon thirty cuz we had to talk to a lawyer#and a few days ago we asked her what the turkey day plans are#and she said dinner at 1pm. fucking one in the afternoon.#we've identified 1-3pm to her as the hardest times for us make cuz it's basically the middle of when we are sleeping#normally we try for ~9:30 am to be in bed or getting in#and up around 5 or 6#and it's just#i know she's not doing it to single me out she's just an insane woman when it comes to her schedule#but it would have been nice if she ever made any effort to try make sure we could be included -_-#cuz this was an issue last few thanksgivings too#so she KNOWS about it#she can't not know about it#and idk#one of my sister's always got judgy about it cuz ~she works 60+ hours a week~#and i didn't show up on time to help cook cuz i needed a nap after work#and i KNOW she's gonna be a bitch about is not being at the gathering#though i don't think she'll contact me about it#and like#i would love to go honestly!#that's the kicker!#if it was at 4pm it something I'd absolutely go!#my sister's just moved so i won't get to see them often and i would like to visit with them#not to mention we could use a good free meal >.>#but like#fuck dude#we're already exhausted and we're kinda sick of having to meet my mom at a place that's unreasonable for us#so i guess it's Thanksgiving alone at my place of a bowl of chili with cheese and some potato salad#means we get stream at least

Meal Planning
Aside from making as much of our food from scratch as possible, meal planning is how I keep our grocery budget low. When done properly it can be extremely helpful, but I know a lot of people find it very overwhelming so I thought I'd share how I meal plan.
The first step is deciding how long you want to plan for. I plan week by week because I love grocery shopping. Growing up my mom always planned for two weeks so she could get groceries on pay day, and I know some people successfully plan for the whole month. However long you choose to plan for, don't think that your meal plan locks you down to eating specific things on specific nights. A meal plan is more like a guide. I use it as a list of meals we want to eat that week, and we can have whichever meal sounds the best that night. I still have some freedom of choice, but I don't have to think hard about what we should have. It eliminates a lot of decision fatigue.
I always try to base my meals off the things that are on sale that week. Most grocery stores (at least in the US) change their sale items on Wednesdays so I make my meal plan and grocery list on Wednesday. You could totally do your shopping then too, but my husband and I like going together on weekends. This can take a little more flexibility, because sometimes the item on my list is sold out because of the sale, but I just do what I need to make it work. If you get your local newspaper they should have an insert with local store's weekly ads, but most also post them on their app/website. Using the app or website can actually make lists easier because you can sometimes add a sale item or deal straight to your in app list and clip coupons straight to your account instead of needing to get the scissors out.
I do shop at Walmart a lot and they don't have weekly deals or coupons, so I also keep a list of meals we love and are cheap/easy to make. I price compare items at my local Kroger and Walmart and usually end up going to both of there's enough items that are cheaper.
Meal planning can be super simple if you want it to be. Create meals based on sale items, choose one of those meals each night when deciding what to have for dinner, save money because you're not constantly going back to the store for random ingredients or getting takeout because you can't decide.
I wanna clarify that when I say sale items I mean ingredients. Produce, cheese, or meats that are one sale. Even if everything is on sale, buying all premade/processed foods will automatically make your groceries cost more. You can get more meals out of a package of chicken breasts, cheese, rice, and some vegetables than you can with frozen meals you just have to heat up (although frozen vegetables are an amazing way to get veggies in for cheaper).

prior to this, i actually never ate much meat - my go to for protein was nuts, hummus, peanut butter, and the occasional chicken or lamb curry dish. legit i just didnt eat or cook meat. so this sudden high protein diet to make up for the lack of carbs calories is probably making my stomach confused. i eat two sausages for breakfast now. its insane. pls let me eat gluten again soon ;_;

how can I tell people in my own home that they need to stop buying Pepsi products? How can I encourage boycotting without being seen as a “killjoy”? I just want Palestinians to live
hi there! i don't really know if what i have to say about this is more relevant than any other random person but since you asked i can share my thoughts =)
first if you are in a precarious living position (minor or otherwise dependent on the people you live with to have a home) and you aren't sure how they would respond if you keep pushing the issue, don't push it. this is just a disclaimer basically but getting kicked out of your house helps no one and puts you in a crisis situation where you won't be able to affectively advocate in other places because you will be too busy trying to survive. your personal safety has to come first.
assuming you've already informed them about the genocide in gaza and 75 year occupation in palestine as much they will allow you to and they still don't seem to care, there's still a few things you could try. mainly, boycotting for the right reason is great but boycotting for the wrong reason still has essentially the same effect on the companies financially.
reasons they might want to stop buying pepsi other than because they want to support palestine and boycott israel:
because it really matters to you and they care about you and what you think don't they?
wouldn't it be healthier to stop drinking pepsi all the time? (i hate the whole assigning morality to health and food thing but if it's something they tend to care about it could be worth it)
wouldn't you be able to save money if your household stopped buying pepsi drinks?
etc.
i think if you live with these people you know them best and you would know what would be most likely to convince them to boycott pepsi with you.

I’m fortunate enough to have a 529 plan for college so semester times are all g)#4) I’m also doing two coursera courses atm (personal finance for young adults and Good With Words) …. I will prob not be able to get much#done in these courses when I have a full week rip#5) I gotta prepare for abroad (applying for visa. dealing with large government structures 😭😭😭) and in general attend to my emails#all dis. hmm#oh and also personal upkeep: gotta order eczema lotion. gotta get in contact with doctors abt leg and jaw PT. gotta follow thru with PT.#falling behind on a productive schedule while balancing my moms needs and my needs and my long-term health/personal project stuff is gonna#be difficult…#hm#writing this out is. hm.#all g all g I am a young adult I gotta handle this stuff now 🧑#great freedom = great responsibility and all that shiz#FUCK I FORGOT I HAVE TO EXERCISE TOO FUCK!!!! There are two kinds of sensory weird you can be about food:
1) Wish I was a boundless transcendental being so I didn't have to consume worldly material to fuel my corporeal body.
2) Good thing I'm not a boundless transcendental being because I would have eaten the sun as soon as I grew teeth.
