another thing that is simply amazing about wei wuxian is that he doesn’t give a fuck about hoarding the knowledge he attains. in the cultivation world where clans jealously hold their resources close and have techniques unique to their families because progress is meant for them and theirs–wei wuxian utterly breaks the mould with his inventions. the products of his genius are spread far and wide and his way of doing things is disseminated within the cultivation society as crucial pieces of information. the spirit attraction flag and the compass are used not only by the clans but also the rogues–the bottom most people in their hierarchy. all of them benefit from wei wuxian’s knowlege in a way that the clans are simply incapable of replicating because they would never allow their own methods to leave the boundaries of their clans. and when wei wuxian is back, he takes to teaching instantly and has no qualms against sharing both his experiences and hard-earned wisdom with the juniors and i think it’s important to note that he has literally no affiliation to them prior to meeting them, except jin ling. he doesn’t know sizhui is a-yuan, he just knows they’re lans and later the boys he leads at yi city belong to several different clans–clans that were responsible for his own death and the death of the wen remnants, mind you. but wei wuxian would never make the children bear the sins of their forefathers, of course, just that painting the background helps in understanding how open and willing wei wuxian is about sharing his knowledge with others. it’s very lovely, really. the cultivation society only took from wei wuxian but he only ever gave them back.

love how mxtx's books all have a coffin scene. in svsss and tgcf, the main couples temporarily get stuck in a coffin. compromising positions and sexual tension abound. in mdzs, though, the antagonist and the man he murdered thirteen years ago (both zombified) are the ones who get stuck in a coffin, doomed to tear each other's souls apart for the next century. the main couple, coffin-less, fuck off to bang in a bush. unparalleled. 10/10

Imagine if the people who make wine realize that Wei Wuxian is an absolute monster with the amount of alcohol he must consume to get to a level that can be considered drunk, and they start to compete on making stronger drinks to get their establisment some fame and recognition. They name the drinks after the things Wei Wuxian does under their effect (Serenade from the rooftop, lost flute, hiding in the bush, stealing boots under the table, etc). The town's people where they stay in are already watching them so they know where he will go and get ready to keep watch to get the newest strong drink to pull in travellers. Wei Ying finds it hillarious, poor Wangji is just exasperated, but as long as his husband is happy its ok

It's fine. He can get trhu the mortification this sent his way and how he hopes they NEVER have to tell them about the whole abbys fiasco.

He can't, however, get over the fact that they're also cut-slevees, was that what the system meant by sibbling sources? Aside from the red and black clothes with ties to demonic things, they had to share this too?

It's okay, he'll get enough time to get used to it, according to the timeline provided by the system they're the first ones so-

Sqq succesfully bullshitted his way into making Wwx believe this after a few minutes and then left to go tell his Binghe about it

Binghe is very protective of his little brothers, so much so he insisted on going with him to meet this person, Shen Yuan knew in the bottom of his heart that he wouldn't doubt to kill if necessary, but he hoped Binghe will get along with his soon-to-be-brother-in-law

Luckly, they got there quickly with some help of teleportation arrays, also luckly the invisibility artifact they took worked nicely and covered their tracks completely

Still they were met by a rather depressing scene that pulled at Shen Yuan's heart strings, did his Binghe also have that look in his eyes?

This man, who he knew already wore white before, but looked to fit into it more than someone so young should, this man who wore a poker face but looked utterly broken and who slowly kept playing his guqin, no doubt still trying to call for Wuxian-

Binghe didn't know how to react, because he was ready to trhow hands, not to feel bad for someone who was annoying his A-Ying

Sqq, however, already knew, so with a bit of Qi he acted as though he was one of the souls answering the call "Who do you search for?"

The man bowed to "the spirit", ended the spell, and turned around, to be met with a kid, probably around Binghe's age when he entered the sect? "Sizhui"

The system informed him of the kid's identity... HE WAS AN UNCLE ALREADY? They weren't even married an already co-parented a child!

Binghe looked at him but he didn't say anything about it as they made their way back

He didn't have the kindest words about the guy, and he didn't give Shen Qinqiu enough time to find the best wording either before Wwx seemed to find something in his words

Sqq sighed, maybe he was giving his brother in law a headache, but better now than later "This man said to give you a message, Wuxian, 'Jin Roulan is growing well, A-Yuan has been growing well'"

Wwx froze and stared at the both of them before collapsing

Next thing they knew, he was crying about someone still being alive
