Hi, just wanted to say I absolutely love Uroboros.

So a few months ago I said I was going to make and upload my MC (using the template you create - I was super excited when I saw that, I LOVE that kind of stuff) now for my silly and probably obvious question: How do I do that lol? >.< I barely use tumblr, so I have #NoIdeaWhatImDoing

Hi Anon!! I'm sorry it isn't as intuitive as I thought it'd be!

Some people take screenshots of their slides, or there may be a way to export the slides as images. You can then put all the images on Tumblr by creating a post! Also make sure to tag me 🫶❤️

I originally thought your ask was inquiring on how to edit the PPT file, so I had to rewrite my answer. If I still got it wrong, please let me know and I'd be happy to help!

The team is having a blast looking through the tag and finding all of the lovely fanart you guys have been making of our cast and your MCs, sooo we wanted to help the community out and make some templates reminiscent of the ones on our itch page!

You're welcome to use them as you like, of course, and please feel free to add on and decorate it to your hearts desire. Tis only a small thank you for all the love you've given back to us with the update release <3

Edit: For those asking, the font we used for the chara bios is Poppins! The font we use for the other information is dependent on the character, however, and while I could share the ones we have you pick in game, some of them are locked behind a commercial license soooo just use whichever you like!

Chapter 2 is live! In total (including code inside text), it is about 48 k words. This brings the total word count to ~103.5 k.

This chapter takes off right where chapter 1 ended. The main part is about character customization. I have tried to make it make some sense and be a part of the narrative. I am not sure I succeeded, but I leave that up to you all to decide. And MC may meet someone new, maybe someone in silver :D

Let me know what you if you find bugs/errors! Also if there is something you would really want in the character customization! Please do note that stuff like height and body type will be left for later, when MC is older.

I updated twine and some stuff got messed up in the template, so there could be stuff wrong.The "resume game" button in the main menu stopped working but since saves seem to work, I just took that out.

Other things:

Some typo fixes

New character profile menu structure implemented (barebones)

Codex structure slightly updated

Notifications are now a thing, they appear to inform you about new things in the menu (like a character profile)

Rudimentary approval system added (so far Havard and Lexia): it is not actually possible to make them dislike you (at least for now), only worried about you.

The prologue has some added visual effects in the repetitive parts.

Font on chapter screens has been changed

Minor chapter 1 additions to a few scenes.

The character profile menu and approval system mean that starting a new game is needed for them to work properly (skipping to C1 is fine)

Rough word counts per chapter have been calculated and added to the itch io page and demo version page inside the game.

Please report any bugs, mistakes etc. See feedback page at the end of the demo.

Talon's End - Demo Update 1

It's here! Thank you all for your patience and your kind asks and comments since the first demo version was posted. This update contains a bunch of new story content as well as some tweaks, both large and small, to existing content.

This update will break existing saves, so make sure you start fresh!

Please let me know if you encounter any bugs/typos/etc! A description and/or screenshot of the issue and what happened just before you ran into it is super helpful for me to locate issues and get them fixed! There's also a little survey (linked at the end of the demo and HERE in case you missed it) just to satisfy my own curiosity!

As of now, my plan is for Talon's End to always be free to play. If you would have paid/donated to play TE and are able, please instead donate to Palestinian or Sudanese causes or your local abortion or mutual aid fund!

long ramble, progress update, & potential release timeframe below:

hii! i got a lot of coding done and i think im finally satisfied with how the game looks (for now…)

here are some screenshots of what some of it will look like on mobile!

the friendship and romance levels shown in the relationship menu are just random as is the blurb for Aesop’s thoughts, they’re just for the example! (also characters thoughts are hidden by default, you click to reveal, then hide, them)

the stat bars were giving me hell but i finally figured them out with the the help of some forums and tumblr posts

i liked how in when twilight strikes by evertidings, the menu buttons (i.e. profile, stats, relationships) are listed at the top of the page so i took inspiration from that! and the many IFs that have a splash (?) screen at the beginning with the title

compared to when i started using twine (i think august 2023 was the first time i gave it a try), i’ve learned so much and there’s still so much to learn as well, i think coding has become my favorite part (making things looks pretty hehe)(with the help of amazing templates & ppl smarter than me, they do the heavy lifting fr)

with all the coding done (appearance wise) it’s lock in time for the revised prologue and chapter 1

the prologue has undergone a fair bit of change with the help of feedback & i’ve (hopefully) better established the setting and story.

some things that have changed besides wording and sentence structure, etc.: being able to choose what you did as a job (ex. working at the family inn) and meeting a new character (more like an old friend?)(no spoilers:))

some things i’ve been considering (SLIGHT SPOILER FOR CH.1 MAYBE): merging the revised prologue and chapter 1 into just the prologue bc chapter 1 differs a bit from the other chapters, but then the prologue would maybe be too strange timeframe wise? it’s a time skip after the events of the prologue (is that considered a spoiler, i don’t think so but???) that connects to the next chapters so maybe it’d just be better as its own chapter? or dropping the revised prologue by itself along with the updated ui/appearance then chapter 1 sometime after, or dropping the revised prologue and chapter 1 together, idk these are all just ideas i’ve been thinking about maybe i’ll do a poll

if you have anything you’d like to see, for example a specific job your MC worked, certain personality traits, or something like that, feel free to let me know & i’ll take them into consideration! i think now is the best time to add things bc it’s early development days & it’ll be easier to do so now than later

i’ve also decided to lean a little more into the supernatural aspect which i’m excited for (one specific thing really, i can’t wait to get to it🤭) the story’s world itself is fairly grounded in reality (as in the supernatural is unknown to most) but i’m looking forward to exploring it more

what you’re probably reading this for: depending on how i end up going about the prologue-chapter 1 merge decision & whether anything is added from requests/feedback, i’m aiming for a june release, july at the latest (fingers crossed). now that the appearance and function coding is complete (besides stat/choice tracking & other story related things), finishing the writing and coding it in is all that’s left

my schedule has done a 180 & some things are less than ideal at moment but it should all (hopefully) go smoothly from here! should anything change, i’ll let you all know

i'm sure it's obvious from the profile colors, but she is a winter mc! i think she first started existing as an oc of mine in like august of last year which is when i played the demo for the very first time. tbh i could yap about her all day long (i already have done so several times to my friends i'm so sorry y'all), but for consistency sake i'll uh try to keep it short.

so! while her legal name is haerin han (한해린) she does prefer to be called may (due to not so cool lore reasons that you will not be privy to). she's korean-american, born in incheon, south korea while she grew up in los angeles, california,,,and before you ask yes she does have a very slight valley accent. she'll kill if you if you point it out tho lmfao 😭

her birthday lands on july 7th making her a cancer and she's like 5'6 so average height i'd say? oh! she's also extremely musically inclined which then led into her actually releasing music whenever she has the time to (when she's not dying from her homework and exams basically). i could share more, but this is already getting kinda long uhhhhhh (PLEASE ASK ME TO YAP ABT HER BC I WILL.)
