WAIT AND CHENFORD X BUDDIE

i don’t think i’ve ever officially posted about this one, but i definitely want to finish it one day…it lives rent free in my notes app 😂

but basically eddie and tim meet and lucy and buck meet, and they both complain (affectionately) about their partners and together they realize they’re all dumbasses in love

anyway, here’s the basis of what i have 💙

The guy nodded his head, taking Eddie’s response in. “So, you here avoiding the wife?”

Even though it’d been awhile now, it was still difficult to answer sometimes.

“No, she uh, she passed away a few years ago now.” Before the guy could comment, Eddie quickly added, “we weren’t together for a while before that, but…” He trialed off, the other guy seeming to understand with a simple nod of his head.

“So girlfriend then?”

“No, don’t have one of those either. What about you…wife, girlfriend…or husband/boyfriend?”

The man looked Eddie over for a moment, seeming to think about his answer before saying, “nope, don’t have any of those either. But uh, it would be a girlfriend.” He didn’t say it in a way that made Eddie think he was afraid Eddie was flirting with him, just simple and matter of fact; he seemed like a no nonsense kind of guy.

“I’m Tim by the way,” the guy said, extending his hand out to him.

“Eddie.”

Two more beers were placed on the counter in front of them, the bartender looking between the two of them.

“So, if y’all don’t have any spouses or such, what’s got you here drowning in your sorrows?”

Both Eddie and Tim sighed, answering in unison. “My partner.”

They turned to each other with raised brows, the bartender even more curious than before.

“I thought—you two just said you were single.”

“Work partner,” they both clarified, looking each other over once more. The bartender eyed them keenly, though left them to it when their attention was called elsewhere.

Tim turned to face Eddie, eyes raised in interest. “So, you got a pain in the ass partner too?”

Eddie scoffed. “You have no idea.”

Tim took the fresh beer, raising it out, Eddie taking his and knocking them together.

“So, this partner of yours got a name?”

Eddie wanted to say there were several, though he went with the easiest.

“Yea, Buck.”

“Please tell me that’s a nickname?”

Eddie laughed, nodding his head. “Yea, one of many. So, what about you…what’s your partners name?”

Tim seemed to think about it for a moment as Eddie had, though he finally answered with, “Lucy. But like you said, that’s one of several.”

Huh. Looked like him and this random bar guy had more in common than Eddie thought. It was just coincidence though, right? Wrong; he was so very, very wrong.

Craning just a little, Shen Qingqiu looked past the lord’s shoulder.

Luo Binghe stared down one of the most powerful cultivators in the human world, and scoffed. His lips twisted into a smile that was anything but happy. Shen Qingqiu’s heart stuttered - though maturity had given his former apprentice’s features grace and refinement, they were of course still familiar to him. But he hadn’t ever seen such an expression on them before. It was the kind of look that taunted the person across from it, as if to say ‘come pick a fight with me - I’ll enjoy watching you lose’.

The bolt of heat it shot right through him was entirely inappropriate, and he immediately decided to pretend that it never happened.

Reimagined Trinity

a WIP that I’ve technically been working on for over a year but never finished and so I’m just posting now bc why not. Design thoughts below:

BATMAN

lighter on the bottom darker on the top like how fish blend in with the sea floor/sky differently depending on whether you’re above or below them

shorts mimic urban landscape

simple bat symbol. Kinda constellation like

big stomping boots bc he deserves it and also needs good grip

SUPERMAN

yellow/orange inside of cape mimic sun :) (this is a design feature that I think should be used wayyy more often)

break up the full blue with soft alien designs. Not armoured plating

ridges on his sleeves so people can hold on easier

sleek boots bc his only job is to fly and look pretty

princely looking collar

El crest is his golden age design but with different colours

WONDER WOMAN

this is just a design I’ve drawn a lot

clay pottery bodice that can glow

protective underlayer

bandages for aesthetic & purpose. Supposed to evoke Greek sandals

barefoot bc obviously

clay-textured skin because the way that Alex Ross draws her breaking apart in Justice is imprinted on my mind

sword hilt is the Wonder Woman symbol!

hair is free enough to have motion and stuff but constrained enough (especially on sword side) that it won’t get as caught in things or get in the way
