Okay ideal Teen Wolf fanfic pack Take 2! 🎬 Sterek✨️

If Derek is Alpha, then obviously Stiles is Pack Mom and Alpha Mate.

All the good fics have Peter as a good little wolf or at least relatively good to the Hale Pack whilst protecting them doing some dirty work as the Left Hand. Peter and Stiles, as best friends, 🤌🏼✨️ is just t it's golden. Derek honestly gets scared when they team up - he knows it'll never end well, especially if Erica is involved. Peter supplies Stiles with all the family heirloom books and artifacts or from his own personal collections.

Stiles just has a habit of collecting Hales, first Derek, then Peter, Cora, and even Malia.

And in the rarity that I read a fic where Ell isn't Stiles's son well Stiles took one look at the kid (maybe before he even knew Eli was Derek's) and filed him under Lost (Hale) PuppyTM Derek is particularly fond of Stiles's seemingly sixth sense when it comes to protecting the Hales. Despite also yelling at the younger man who can't get it through his thick skull that putting himself in the line of danger won't help Derek losing him anymore than losing another Hale.

Somewhere along the way, Peter gets back together with Chris cause, yes, they dated as teens with an unfortunate near 20-year pause due to the Argent/Hale shit show extravaganza. They are raising their teen/young adult daughters Allison and Malia as sisters - bonus points if Jackson and Malia are twins.

Now I can't for some reason ever really see Allison and Isaac being romantically involved after her death and resurrection. Usually, Stiles figures some way to bring her back,and going forward, she gets back with Scott, Issac becomes dependent on Chris as a father figure, so Allison and Issac are just good friends once she's back. OR he sees Derek as a brother or father figure kinda situation being the Alpha that originally turned him, and skips over the emotional attachment to Chris all together.

Malia and Kira make for an interesting side ship that I never saw coming but a cute addition lol

Boyd and Erica are mates, obviously. Erica is a little shit just like Stiles and especially teaming up with Stiles, but Boyd balances her crazy. Crazy fun that iS.

I do love a good fic with Cora being involved. The dynamic of her and Derek finding their footing once again as siblings just makes me super emotional, okay? Plus, Cora and Isaac make for a good couple/mates.

Given that I love a good bad friend Scott fic, Isaac has pulled away from following Scott like a lost puppy. His lost puppy status belongs to Cora or Derek, depending on whose good side he's trying to get on that day. But back to Scott - his main roll usually is to tear down Stiles or attempt to anyway. Usually, Allison is there to gather his wits back together and reel him back into being a good friend. I'im game with a good redemption arc for him, but it ain't required.

Lydia and Stiles make a good team, and she makes a damn good motivational ass kicker when Stiles needs one, which is usually at least once in every fic, let's be honest. She's either with Jackson or just a bad ass that doesn't need a partner to ground her. Jackson is still an asshole - it's why we love him. But he and Stiles develop a pretty decent friendship when they bond over healing from losing control from the Kanima and Void. He'd kill to protect Stiles. They all would. He's with Lydia, Danny, or Ethan.

Now we can't forget Sheriff Stilinski, rather his name is Noah or John, he's a big player in this pack. Despite being only human, he has a lot of sway when it comes to this rag-tag group of puppies and puppy adjacents. Derek and him make for a good team in the fics. Derek is a deputy. Or just the Sheriff adopting Derek as an unofficial Stilinski once he realizes his son won't ever let go of the Hales but especially one Derek Hale - plus it's easier to expain to his across-the-street-neighbor that Derek is family rather than filter through the panicked 911 calls of astrange man in a black leather jacket climbing once again through his son's bedroom window. Cause the Hales don't know how to use front doors - a trait they passed along to the whole pack like a worst kept secret family tradition.

Oh, and it's recently been brought to my attention that the Sheriff is in a secret relationship with his deputy Jordan and eventually gets exposed by Stiles seeing them on a date. Bonus points if it turns into a double date. Didn't know I needed this one until I needed it. However, I'm down for seeing him with Melissa or even a thropple with Chris and Peter. If he's with Melissa, then Scott has to have a redemption arc, or he was the good best friend/step brother all along.

And last but certainly not least, Eli Hale or shall I say Eli Stilinski-Hale or Hale-Stilinski? Doesn't matter as long as we all can agree that Elis Stiles's son. l'm not picky on whether it's adoption, mpreg, or Stiles and Derek got together after Eliwas born. Stiles. Is. Eli's. Father.

If some of this seems repeated from my Steter Ideal Pack - well, that's cause it is, lol. I wrote this first but finished Steter before Sterek. I'll probably rewrite this cause it's rushed, but I need to get it out to link for my Secret Santa in the Sterek Exchange.

✋️🛑 Now, all of this is just my personal preference on fics I've read. A lot of these obviously stray from the actual character on the show but 🤷🏻‍♀️ show canon meet 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽 one person's fanfic canon. All respect and rights for the cast and crew in bringing these characters to life, though. Also, I'm not saying that I won't read fics that don't include this stuff - like I've mentioned just some stuff I've read over the years and liked. ✋️🛑

Things I would’ve liked seeing in the teen wolf movie:

-Laura being the birth mom of Eli & the story of how Derek ended up adopting his nephew

- Scott as a veterinarian following deatons steps but he decided to relinquish his true alpha powers to Derek when he realized he really isn’t cut out to be alpha because he never wanted to be a werewolf but with therapy realized he wouldn’t mind being a beta because it’s much calmer and if he stayed in the area wouldn’t become an omega. Making Scott happier maybe he finds himself a gf/bf

-Alpha Derek encouraging his pack by leading by example became a mechanic and a consultant (also show more mechanic Derek 😭😭)

-Grown fbi emissary stiles with little magics & werewolf strength. Happy & dating Derek with a newly fixed jeep

-Stiles and Lydia reestablishing a good friendship after the break up and the whole thing with the Jeep

- CEO & fashion icon Lydia using banshee powers to find out when corporate Headhonchos die to bet on stocks that will increase pack funds a little but not make it suspicious. still being on top of her game ceo wise excluding her powers

-Seeing more of Lydia’s powers.

-Jackson and Lydia sass offs (but with Margo/Elliot from the magicians dynamics and not whatever they did in the movie)

-Jackson and Ethan wedding👀 or at least cute domestic life

-Liam in meditation classes & a financial analyst, in charge of pack finances (+Liam and Hayden together and maybe have a kid)

-If Liam has a kid Mason to be the godfather

-Peter as a stockbroker so Lydia doesn’t have to dirty her name & maybe some art galleries around the world for when he needs to step away from stocks to not be suspicious.

-Issac happy with a French husband who treats him amazing back in beacon hills & neighbors with Derek & regularly does community bbqs. i’d like to think that Isaac would become an amazing social worker for how badly social workers handled his case.(Maybe a little bit of father figure Chris cuz he took care of him and grieved with him after Allison)

-Chris argent allowed at pack bbqs and functions because he’s proved himself over and over and the pack is the only ppl who can also understand the lost of his daughter

-Peter and Chris regularly attend therapy and grief counseling and sometimes together

-Peter and the sheriff do lunch sometimes and we get stories about all the on goings of become hills cuz they like to gossip like old ladies

-Malia back in beacon hills after traveling the world and has become a pilot and constantly brings gifts for the pack ( maybe she introduces 2 poly partners)

-Kira back from the dessert with a mastery of her powers and maybe a journalist now

-Jordan retires as a cop to get his powers under control & becomes a fitness instructor to keep active but have a more chill pace job. I’d like to think that he recommended meditation classes to Liam.

-Erica and Boyd alive well and happy with some kids(let me be delusional)

-The hale house remodeled to fit all the pack when they visit

- I liked John & Mason as sheriff & deputy. ITs Mason following stiles steps in his own way

-Mason get a cute bf

-Deaton left town to go work with his sister but stays as a hale pack ally /mentor of emissary! stiles

-Cora being a cool aunt, ufc fighter 👀

-Discount kira can stay but she’s just introduced as a part of Satomi‘s pack and not as discount Kira and maybe kira occasionally mentors her

-Eli is adorable as is, maybe give him some friends and show his interactions with his pack and how they spoil him to death 

-Some low-key Chris, Peter, and Melissa dates

-Give the sheriff a girlfriend

-Show the sheriff being a grandpa

-Derek regularly cooking and bringing lunch to the sheriff for stiles

-Kira and Scott getting back together would’ve been cute

-Would’ve rather Allison stay dead for storyline consistency and the emotional development and growth of all the characters. But if she’s sticking around then I would’ve liked for Scott to fill her in and they be friends. She gets to visit Isaac and we get to see that reunions reaction and they’re both happy for each other. we get to see her and her dad reuniting and him fumbling over explaining his current relationship with Peter & Melissa. And maybe she leaves Beacon Hills with Malia to learn more about herself & the world. And when she’s ready to come back she becomes a self-defense teacher. NO HER AND SCOTT DATING HATED THAT.

Like he as family ok peter and malia not to be choice but where the duck is Cora and also the shriff could take him they have a bond and know each other and not like Scott who last saw him when he was kid and Alison he never meet her she tried to kill him

And Alison came back to live and they didn’t even bother to text Isaac it? Like Allison was his girlfriend when she died and he had to watch that she always liked Scott (even when. He was with him I guess?) that’s wow. And then he’s adopted by Chris his girlfriends father who tired to kill him and go ti France but only Chris retuned and left Isaac in grace alone???? And his daughter came back but he didn’t told Isaac???

Teen Wolf (2023) Movie Thoughts (Mostly Ranting)

Mainly, I'm disappointed.

First here are the things I'm neutral about/did like:

I honestly thought Liam was Stiles at first. It could just be me, but Sprayberry strongly resembles O'Brien, and Liam came across more like a mature, collected Stiles than a grown Liam in that first scene.

For all the issues I have with Derek's storyline, I did like both the writing and the acting presented dad!Derek. I liked the fact Derek is helping out law enforcement when there's fires being set around Beacon Hills.

Unfortunately, this is pretty much all I liked, and to be clear, mistaking Liam for Stiles is something I'm neutral about. I didn't particularly care one way or another about Liam in the movie, and I was fine with Stiles not being in the movie.

Liam's girlfriend is another thing I'm neutral about. I'm not going to hate on an actress for accepting a job when another actress was done dirty. I didn't dislike this new character, but I didn't see anything that made me interested in her, either.

Now onto what I didn't like.

For all I liked dad!Derek, it rubbed me the wrong way that there was no mention at all of Eli's mother. It seemed pretty clear to me that Eli was Derek's biological son, and so, this is not a case of single Derek adopting a kid, which, I'd be totally down for.

Look, was he married? Is he divorced? As much as I usually hate the trope of dead mothers, is she dead? Did he have a one-night stand, and she handed the baby over with explicit instructions to never contact her? Did he get involved with another horrible woman, and there's a court order stating that, if she comes within hundred feet of Beacon Hills before Eli is eighteen, she'll be arrested?

Moving on, I could unhappily accept complete lack of Corey, but Mason as a cop?

No.

Nope.

Uh-uh.

This is like if Lydia was a deputy.

Bear with the jumbled way I try to express this.

Sheriff Stilinski and Parrish are both intelligent men. In this universe, maybe, BLM doesn't even need to be a thing, because, the justice system is largely fair and about actually protecting people.

If so, then, the police would be essentially a blue-collar job, and I absolutely do not intend to demean honest, hard-working blue-collar workers.

Mason had an insanely high GPA, he genuinely loved science, was a bonafide bookworm, and there were hints he was from an upper-middle-class background.

If he decided on the justice system, he'd be a lawyer or some type of specialist, but I really doubt he'd decide on the justice system in the first place.

He wasn't particularly athletic, and while he wasn't one to naturally challenge authority, he wasn't one who would try to uphold authority, either. Yes, he wanted to help people, to protect them, but he was more, 'let's figure this out so that I can get back to kissing my boyfriend, working on my grades, and learning all this cool stuff about my friends,' than anything.

But moving on, I wish I could have liked the Ethan mention, but it's not great when a person goes to a dangerous place to put themselves in danger without telling their significant other, and it's even worse when they decide to do all this despite knowing that their significant other has big, big problems with them doing so.

Assuming Ryan Kelley or whoever that bare-bottom belonged to was okay with their naked bottom being shown and touched on TV, then, yay for equal opportunity fanservice, but ugh to Parrish/Malia.

Ugh to Malia apparently going by the surname Hale now.

I could have been on-board with Harris' return, but the movie had to frell that up.

I accepted a long time ago that Harris being Jackson's biological father wouldn't happen, but it's canon that Harris showed genuine concern, possibly even affection, for Jackson.

And of course, his motivation is that, like almost all the villains, whether correct in doing so or not, he blames Scott for his pain and suffering.

I wouldn't say Adam Fristoe was bad, he does seem to be a good actor, but aside from all my problems with Harris' role, I felt as if Fristoe was playing a way different character than Harris ever was.

Random, but when I first the line, "They call me Mister Tibbs," I thought, 'But the character is a detective.'

I had a similar thing when Peter referred to Deaton as 'Mister' Deaton. He is a licensed veterinary doctor.

The thing is, I honestly don't think this was a race thing with Deaton, but that's where my mind went.

Finally, onto Allison.

This had the potential to be great, but it wasn't.

Erica and Boyd were never brought up. So, everyone going on about how Allison wouldn't harm a fifteen-year-old boy- how old was Boyd when Chris himself said, paraphrased, 'Caught came awfully close to kill.'? Erica was sixteen when Allison shot an arrow at her whilst she was lying on the ground from another arrow shot.

Whether Allison ever truly felt bad for contributing to Erica's death or whether she was just horrified she became this person she recognised as immoral due to manipulation was, arguably, never made clear in the series.

That could have been explored. Has everything made her a coldly practical person who is determined never to cross certain moral lines and to follow this path of being a warrior, or is she a passionate, empathetic person who is trying to heal from the mistakes she wishes she could take back but knows she can't?

Chris had a line about how he'd kill to protect a fifteen-year-old boy, but whether he actually did hold a gun to Scott's head to get Allison to agree to stop seeing Scott or that was unreliable narration, he did do a lot of other things to make it clear that teenage shifters were lesser in his eyes.

And I'm still convinced, if he could have, he would have locked Lydia in his basement after her fugue state until she either died from a combination of starvation, dehydration, and possibly infection, or until she turned, whereupon he either would have killed her or secretly deposited her in Eichen's.

In the end, it was all about Scott/Allison, not about Allison rediscovering/reclaiming herself.

This is minor, but Scott not knowing what 'wistful' means was stupid. I didn't buy that.

The Halloween story👀

As soon as Arlandria was adopted at the end of September she decided she was going to dress up as Grayson. Complete with his real heavyweight championship belt (she was under strict instructions to leave it with Y/N). Her gloves were custom made to look exactly like his. 

She practically bounced into the school that morning, dragging her Mama behind her dressed as Morticia Addams, they were supposed to be going out later and Grayson was going to be Gomez. Beaming about how cute her baby girl looked. The rest of the class walked in dressed as an amalgamation of princesses and monsters. 

“What are you supposed to be then Arly?” Jackson, he was dressed in all black with a mask to make him look like the Scream killer. the kid had probably never even seen Scream. 

“I’m my Papa, he’s a boxer,” she held up the belt in her tiny hands, “see he’s the heavyweight champion.” She felt so smug showing off her Papa’s accomplishments.

“Seriously? You know girls are weak and make bad boxers right?” 

“No, they aren’t! Girls make great boxers!” She was getting a little wound up now, all the girl power her parents had taught her starting to come out. 

“Girls suck!” He was right up in her face now, but he was soon on the floor. The impact from the heavyweight belt hitting his cheek knocking him down.

“They aren’t!”

“Arlandria Jane Dolan!” She just got full named by her Mama, in front of her entire class and then walked to the Principals office. Where they sat together in uncomfortable silence until Grayson arrived. 

Y/N explained to Grayson that Arly had hit a kid with the belt and shoved the belt into his chest before walking back to her classroom. Immense concern all she could feel, her kid at the principal's office. In her school, with her boss. What if this came back on her? Makes her look like she can’t even control her own child let alone a whole class of them?

“Papa I promise I didn’t even hit him that hard!” She tried to defend herself.

“Oh really? Because it looks like he has the words heavyweight imprinted on his face sweetheart.” This made her get embarrassed. He had a point, little Jackson did have the words on his face from how hard she had hit him.

They got called into the office with Jackson and his father. His father dressed in a business suit topped with a face like stone after being pulled out of his office. Grayson still in his shorts and vest from the gym, creating quite the contrast.

The principal asked for Jackson’s side of the story first,

“Well I asked what her costume was and she told me she was a boxer, like her daddy and I said that it was cool and then she hit me!” Arlandria was getting wound up again. For multiple reasons.

“My Papa, I’m dressed like my Papa. Not my daddy, he was mean Papa isn’t,” she whispered only for Grayson to hear, although he was unsure if she was telling the others in the room or herself. He knew immediately that the other child was lying they’d taught her better than that. Mr Lee then asked for Arlandria’s side,

“He asked what my costume was so I told him I was dressed as my Papa and then he told me girls were too weak to be boxers so I said they weren’t and then he tolded me that girls suck and then I hit him,” as she got to the end she started to get embarrassed again and was looking at the floor. 

“Well, those are quite differing stories, I would usually call the teacher in at this point but I have a feeling one party may have a problem with that,” he turned to Jackson’s father, not wanting to deal with accusations that Mrs Dolan was showing a bias. 

“No! No, bring the woman in I want to hear her side.” Not what they were expecting.

The fear Y/N felt when walking into the principal's office was as though she was the one being punished. She felt like she was the eight-year-old about to get told off. 

When they asked for her side she understood the smug look she was getting from Jackson’s father he thought he’d won either way. If she said she heard Arlandria being riled up then she was just defending her daughter, if she didn’t see anything then she was incompetent. 

“Well I was attending to another child at the time but I heard Jackson say ‘Girls suck’ and then Arlandria hit him, so I can only assume from what I know about both the children that he been winding her up prior.“ 

“What do you mean ‘what you know about both children’?” Jackson’s father enquired.

“I know that although she is being raised in a boxing household she has been taught that she should not hit anyone and she wouldn’t unless provoked, and I also know that this is not the first time that Jackson has been in here for an incident like this.” She tried to say he’s a little shit in the nicest way possible.

 Both children were told to write the other a letter of apology and dismissed early.

The car with Grayson and Arlandria was dead silent. Arlandria not wanting to say anything to get her in more trouble and Grayson wanting her to sit in her embarrassment for a little while. They pulled into the gym and Grayson turned to his baby girl and sighed.

“Now I know that you told the truth in the office earlier, and I’m proud of you for doing that even when it meant admitting you did something wrong. However, that doesn’t undo the fact you should not have hit him. At all. It’s a pretty conflicting situation because on one hand I’m really disappointed that you hit someone but on the other, I’m really proud of you for standing up against that little prick. So, I’m going to take you into the gym and let you get some anger out and then we’re gonna get some ice cream and you’re going to tell your Mama that I told you off more than I did.” The eight-year-old was confused and taken back by his proposal. She nodded and they walked into the gym.

Straight to one of the corners with a punching bag he got her all properly prepared and started showing her the proper technique. 

“Right baby, don’t tuck your thumbs into your fist you’ll get hurt.” She starts hitting properly and Grayson can feel his heart swelling with pride watching her. Until he hears her mumbling under her breath. 

“Stupid Jackson and his stupid costume calling me stupid names. Meany buttface.” He couldn’t help but chuckle slightly at the childish names. However, he couldn’t say she was wrong, he also thought that Jackson was a ‘meany buttface’.

Ethan walked out of his office and she showed him how she could hit, getting in a bit more practice while Gray explained what happened. Ethan was impressed, to hit him and leave an imprint? He was proud in a way only an uncle is allowed to be.

“Papa, I’m not angry anymore. Can we get ice cream now?” He told her they could and they were off to the parlour. 

They were eating their ice cream when Arlandria asked if next time she gets angry she can go to the gym with Gray because it helped. He agreed quickly hoping it would work as a deterrent to her hitting kids again. Also letting her know that if she hit another kid she wouldn’t be getting ice cream, she’d be getting punished properly.

He couldn’t help but worry about his wife though, he had known her for a decade so he knew exactly what was going through her head. She would be panicking about how this reflected on her career. He checked the time and realised she’d be almost home wanting cuddles and food, so he would deliver.

Gray got Arly in the car and headed out to pick up take out, getting Y/N’s favourite. She’d need it.

The devoted husband pulled into his driveway to see his wife still sitting in her car. Crying into her long black Morticia wig. He sent Arlandria over to knock on her car window, in an attempt to cheer her up. Once the woman spotted the small girl she wiped her eyes and opened the door. She picked Arly up for a big cuddle telling her how much she loved her. 

Moving into the lounge the two girls found Grayson laying out the food they bought, they sat and ate dinner as a family, in peace. 

“I know I was really naughty today and I’m super duper sorry, but do I still get to go trick-or-treating?” Arlandria asked her Mama as she went shy, her head hung low and cheeks bright red.

“Sure you can sweetheart, you were standing up for yourself and what you believe in but you also know you shouldn’t have reacted the way you did. I’m proud of you for telling the truth to Principal Bell. Even if you had to admit you did something wrong.” Grayson sprinted upstairs to put his costume on before heading out to join the rest of his family. Cameron would be so impressed when she heard about the mark Arly left.

Two full pillowcases later they returned home. After putting Arlandria to bed, Y/N and Grayson decided to go sit in their own room. They stuck a film on to try and act like everything was normal, but that didn’t last long before Y/N was crying again. Sobbing to her husband about her insecurities. Asking if he thought she was a bad mother, which he shot down the thought of immediately.

“I just feel like I failed you know? I’m a teacher, it’s my job to teach these kids right from wrong and my kid, the one that lives with me hit another kid. She got taken to the principal’s office. That feels so shitty. I just feel maybe she’d have been better off going to another home.” One thing Grayson loved about his wife was how open she could be about this. It took a very long time to get there but now he almost can’t shut it off.

“You know how when we first got together you were crazy shy and now you’re still shy but a hell of a lot less, yeah?” Y/N nodded slightly confused about where he was going with this, “Well, I can see the same thing happening with Arly, because of you. She’s talking more and more, she was play fighting with Ethan the other day. A month ago she wouldn’t even look at him for more than five seconds! Her and Cam’s girls are almost inseparable, April told me the other day they wished we found her sooner because she’s so much fun. Her exact next words were ‘she’s so much funner than Bailey, Octavious and Marcus, boys suck’, and Arly loves all of them so so much as well. She’s started calling Octavious, Tay! He won’t even let Ethan call him anything other than Oc or Octavious and he’s the kid's dad! Bailey tried to call him Tay and got hit. Us adopting her is the best thing that ever happened to us and to her.” Grayson had made some solid points that she couldn’t argue with really.

“Speak of the devil, I see you Arly, peeking around the door missy.” She pushed the door open a little more so they could see her better and took a deep breath.

“I’m super duper duper sorry I hit Jackson, I shouldn’t have done it and I know that. Although he wound me up and may or may not have deserved it I still shouldn’t have hit him. You two are the best parents I’ve ever had and I’m really happy here. I’m sorry if I messed anything up for you.” The fragile girl was on the brink of tears as Grayson pulled her into their bed. 

“You haven’t messed anything up for anyone baby girl, the fact that you know that prick deserved to get hit but you still shouldn't have shows me that me and your Mama have done something right. A month ago you wouldn’t have even told him what your costume was, I’m so incredibly proud of you. We are never letting you go Arly, you’re a Dolan now through and through.”

The Last of Us Part II – Adding my two cents to the game

Just so we’re clear, let’s establish a few things first:

MAJOR TLOU II SPOILERS AHEAD!!

I also spoiled myself ahead because I needed to know what would happen to Joel and Ellie… and the ending as well.

I’ve played the first one. I liked how it ended and totally support the ending!

I haven’t played the 2nd part but I’m watching the playthrough on YouTube in small doses. My heart can’t take much of it at once lol (and being poor and paying of debt for a loved one is no fun because I don’t have much money to spend on myself).

Right now, I’m at the part where Joel goes with Ellie to the museum for her birthday – it’s so cute and fatherly and my heart can’t take how bittersweet this is …

The 2nd part was rushed and has some bugs that could’ve been avoided, whether you like it or not. That’s a fact and we’re here for the facts not the truth (if you want the truth join a philosophy course).

The parts with Abby are too long, more than what they should’ve been and her vengeance is 💩.

English is not being my first language but I do my best (that’s all I can do).

I’m listening to Bryan Adams and Richard Max while writing this because I’m still not over Joel…

The first part ended with Joel bringing an unconscious Ellie to the hospital where the last Fireflies are, she almost drowned and he had to perform CPR on her. He’s rendered unconscious too and wakes up on a hospital bed with Marlene and Ethan (the guy who hit Joel in the head with the butt of his rifle) in the room.

That’s when he starts asking where Ellie is and Marlene informs him that she’s not his problem anymore and being prepped for surgery. Here, we need to note the following things: Marlene had sworn to Ellie’s mother to protect and to keep her from harm’s way but TAKES the decision to practically sentence her to death and yeah, she gives a speech that it’s not easy for her either yada yada yada but it’s all bs. The reason why is because:

a)     making a decision refers more to the process and is something that takes time, while taking a decision is the act of deciding something that happens in an instant. Ultimately, Marlene decides for HER!! What about ‘my body, my decision’? Or in this case ‘her body, her decision’? It doesn’t matter if it’s related to an abortion or having your skull opened, the same principle should be applied!

She even says to Joel ‘because this isn’t about me. Or even her. There is no other choice here’. – Firstly, there’s always another choice! Secondly, Joel replies to her saying ‘yeah, you keep telling yourself that bullshit’ and he’s right, it’s total and utter bullshit. Even later on, when he’s carrying Ellie into the parking lot (I believe it was a parking lot), he tells her ‘that ain’t for you to decide’. Again, he’s right. It isn’t Marlene’s decision nor his but Ellie is still unconscious, so what do you want to do? Let them butcher her open? He crossed with her through half the country and ended up caring profoundly for her – she became like a daughter to him. He doesn’t have an on and off switch to turn off his feelings towards Ellie. Moreover, do tell me, if you’d like a doctor or someone else TAKE such a decision for you, instead of waiting for you to wake up and then tell you about the procedure and what this will entail. I get freaking furious whenever someone takes a decision for me or without asking me first.

b)     Neither she nor the doctor wait for Ellie to regain consciousness and since she’s unconscious, they see it as the perfect importunity to just go ahead and rummage in her brain to see if there’s something that could help them developing a vaccine or a cure.

c)     That’s another thing. They had zero guarantees, not even a 0.1 percentage of probability that they’d find something – nothing, nada, zilch. Just a hunch and maybe in an apocalyptic world for some people this might be enough but then why not wait until she wakes up and tell her ‘we don’t know for sure if your immunity will help us finding a cure or a vaccine. So that’s why we need to open your skull and see what makes you immune which ultimately, will kill you’ (in some nicer words though lol). Because they know she might not fully agree with it and they give a sh*t about what she thinks/wants and have that narrow military/cult mindset of ‘a sacrifice for the greater good’ and/or wouldn’t care either way because she’s a kid. I’m no fan of sacrificing one or a dozen people to save billions. If we can’t save them all or at least try our damn hardest, then we’re doing something terribly wrong! Also, she’s a freaking kid!! She hasn’t seen much and has her whole life ahead, doesn’t matter if it’s in the apocalypse. The thought that they’re willing to sacrifice her, a kid, without batting an eye shows me that all Fireflies are terrorists.

d)     Now to the doctor (the one with the scalpel) – according to the internet this guy was Abby’s father and his murder was why she tortured and slaughtered Joel. First things first, every doctor has to take on a Hippocratic oath. There are many different variations but they all come from an old one that states the following:

… I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice.

I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody if asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly, I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness, I will guard my life and my art.

I will not use the knife, not even on sufferers from stone, but will withdraw in favour of such men as are engaged in this work.

Whatever houses I may visit, I will come for the benefit of the sick, remaining free of all intentional injustice, of all mischief and in particular of sexual relations with both female and male persons, be they free or slaves.

… If I fulfil this oath and do not violate it, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and art, being honoured with fame among all men for all time to come; if I transgress it and swear falsely, may the opposite of all this be my lot.

The doctor doesn’t keep her from harm or injustice, he isn’t even there for her well-being, only to see how her brain ticks. So, that immense violation of his oath doesn’t make him a doctor anymore but a BUTCHER and don’t come to me with ‘but it’s the apocalypse or it’s for the greater good blah blah blah’, then how better are we compared to rapists and people who murder out of fun? If we throw our principles out of the window just because it’s the apocalypse and/or it’s for the greater good, then with all due respect we all should just go ahead and jump from a building and burn in hell.

e)     I got to the part where Joel and Ellie went to the museum for her birthday and at the end there’s a graffiti that says ‘liars’ with the fireflies’ symbol above. Even at the end, their own members saw that they Fireflies were only a bunch full of hot air and nothing else. They ended up being terrorists and forgot what they once stood and fought for.

So, taking all this into consideration - who wouldn’t have saved her? And yes, Joel saves her out of selfishness, so what? True, that he didn’t tell her the truth either, but can you resent him for this? He’d have to tell her that Marlene betrayed her, betrayed her trust and her mother’s trust in her and was willing to let her die and let her body being violated (rape is not the only way to violate someone’s body – FYI). This would have impacted Ellie’s state of mind too. She’d have ended up resenting Marlene and the Fireflies or worse. She had gone through so much already and didn’t need more on her plate. So, he spared her that betrayal and resentment.

Now let’s talk a bit more about Joel. Joel is no saint or hero but no villain either. He’s just a man who was willing to doom the whole already-damned world to protect the girl he adopted. He does what he needs in order to survive but within some reason and hasn’t lost his humanity (it’s just deeply hidden in him), he’s a person trying to survive. He tortures people - yes, but only to get information and makes sure to end them quickly afterwards. I agree that one of the main things you’ve to do during such times, is to adapt or you’ll die or worse. In the 1st part he’s rough, tough, strong, stubborn, resilient, experienced in the world he lives in and wary of strangers (just remember that scene on the highway with the stranger pretending to be hurt and Joel knew from the moment he saw him that it was a trap), someone you don’t want to mess with, etc. On the other hand, there’s this other side of him where he teaches Ellie to swim, tries to joke with her, to play the guitar, takes her to beautiful places, he takes her to a museum with dinosaurs and stuff from space, that proves he’s capable for carrying deeply for someone, in this case Ellie, and don’t get me started on the gift he gives her when they’re in the space capsule (!!), and so on. Ellie and Joel have this great dynamic. Then in the 2nd part, they made him to be so trustworthy toward a young unknown girl, tells her even their REAL names, like he literally says ‘my name’s Joel and that’s my brother Tommy. We live further down’. Dude, why don’t you just go walking around with a banner around your neck stating who you are to the whole freaking world. At some point he even said the name of their home (Jackson)!’ - WHAT THE HOLY F*CK?! He even offered her to go with them and take her to their home and give her supplies. Then, even BLINDLY and WITHOUT ANY WARINESS follows her to a place with an unknown sized group, where he and Tommy don’t know anyone - HOLY FREAKING HELL?! It’s not like it could be a trap, I mean it’s completely normal that there are many survivors camping up in the mountains in the middle of a snow blizzard, it’s the perfect season for doing that ¬¬. We’re living in times were everyone is kind to each other… I just don’t get it. This behaviour change is too radical and old habits die hard, especially ones acquired and used for decades!! That’s a big flaw from Naughty Dog regarding Joel. They portrayed him as someone stupid (sorry Joel but it’s true), sloppy, too soft, etc. He’s older and fatherlier with Ellie all fine and good, but he’d still be very cautious toward outsiders, particularly when they outnumber him!! It’s true that at some point we’ll have to be more trustworthy toward others in order to try and reestablish society or something close to it but you’d still be wary and wouldn’t take them right to your home first thing!! I had also into consideration that they were being chased by a horde of runners and clickers and their options where limited but still!

In some games the death of an important and primary character is sometimes essential. TLOU II is one of them because this was necessary for Ellie to grown and learn more about herself, the world she lives in, among others but Joel deserved way better than what he got! I feel for Tommy too, he didn’t deserve to split up with Maria or lose an eye but I believe the reason as to why he became obsessed with avenging Joel was because he already thinks he failed him in the past already, either when Sarah died, or when he joined the Fireflies and Joel wasn’t happy about it, or when they blindly trusted Abby and her friends.

Before I start with Abby, we need to establish something else first: revenge is about retaliation; justice is about restoring balance. The motive of revenge has mostly to do with expressing rage, hatred, or spite. It’s a protest or payback, and its foremost intent is to harm. And because it’s so impassioned, it’s typically disproportionate to the original injury—meaning that it usually can’t be viewed as just. The punishment may fit the crime, but it’s often an exaggerated response to another’s perceived offense. Nevertheless, I do believe that justice comes from vengeance but that type of justice only breeds more vengeance, and this is what Abby essentially does, avenge her father (even though I believe he lost his way and became unscrupulous) and ends up being capable to live with herself with little to no trouble after what she did to Joel, after repeatedly hitting him over and over and over again with a golf club, and forcing Ellie to watch the last bit. Abby and a bunch of others, who were also aware of her secretive plans, travel thousands of miles just to find Joel and brutalise him and massacre him. That scene was really brutal. But at some point both Abby and Ellie have to realise that vengeance is not the answer and if everyone keeps coming back seeking vengeance, then they’ll move around in a vicious circle until someone decides to forgive because killing like this not only hurts themselves, but also those they love and love them.

I don’t see the WLF as a whole as someone who deserves sympathy. They’re quite similar to the Fireflies who maybe at some point had noble goals (or almost) but ended up strayed from their path. They loot and kill everyone they see, no questions asked (much like the police these days in our world), even if they’re just passing by and aren’t affiliated to any group and just want to survive.

The ending of TLOU II couldn’t have been better. Ellie was happy with Dina and the baby but deep down she knew she didn’t close the chapter with Joel’s murder. Abby, and knew that at some point, she’d have to revisit that part to close it entirely. Her leaving with Tommy was the right decision, even if Dina wouldn’t/couldn’t fully understand why and I feel sad for Maria too but I strongly believe that she’ll return - whether or not Dina will wait for her is another story.

This is all I’ve to add. I’ve been sitting her for about 5+ hours writing this because I wanted to put my perspective of this masterpiece out there and show people that the game is still great.

Me again, courtesy of my being off today, and also perpetually having fannish thoughts!  First, can’t wait to see what you come up with for the whole Dean/Chris thing (…that sounds weird, but you know what I mean.)

Second, if you are taking votes on the subject, I vote DILF Club for the whump prompt (because I will ALWAYS vote them on pretty much anything).  Most logically I could see it being Chris or Noah suffering from a combo of possible concussion and hit of pain drain, leading to accidental confessions of feelings, thoughts of not being good enough, or other angsty trauma issues of your choice.  Or for pure comedy gold, either of them in the hospital suffering from both previously mentioned things plus maybe a hit of local anesthetic, and Melissa getting WAY more detail about their sex life than she EVER needed to know.  If it’s Chris, she gets the benefit of giving him shit for the rest of his natural life in the way that only your bestie can, if it’s Noah, she can also give him shit, and possibly compare what she hears to things she remembers being told by Claudia (actually…depending on what kind of details Chris shared this could work for him, too…)  Although, the thought of a delirious Peter trying to hit on both his husbands because he forgot they’re married (or dating, or whatever) also has some serious appeal.

And third, I love the idea of knitter Cas, but I would like to offer up the suggestion of Dean taking up crochet before he moves to knitting.  It’s basically just tying really small, elaborate knots with a hook, so I feel he’d understand the process a little better at first.  Sort of like a gateway craft.  XD  And they could make each other things from the same yarn so they coordinated without going full on matchy-matchy, which I feel would be one of those WAY in the future things if it happened.  And he could more easily drop it if he needed to have his hands free for defense or something without worrying about stitches falling off the needle or anything.  (Am I thinking too hard about this?  Probably, but who cares?)

And not to be depressing on main or anything, but I suspect the lack of extra siblings in TW is partially linked to the prevalence of single parents.  But it’s definitely weird.  What few siblings there are, are mostly dead or missing.  Maybe the imaginary Martin sister was my brain trying to fill the blanks there, so to speak.  ’>.>  I also feel like the majority of multi-child families feature werewolves/shifters, whether born or turned (the Hales, both generations, Isaac, Boyd, Malia, Hayden, Brett & Lori, Ethan & Aiden.)  I don’t know that it necessarily means anything, but it’s interesting.

Also, as someone who regularly forgets to eat until at least one or two o'clock or later on their days off, I’m certainly not going to judge you for it.  XD  Best vibes for your writing!  Take care!  *Hugs!*

THE DELICIOUSNESS OF SUCH A SCENE!

But I feel like that would def be a good little fic.

I mean it makes sense in some ways. But I feel like some of the single parents could have had more kids before they became single parents. Maybe not Melissa, but Noah and Claudia? Yeah Stiles could definitely have had a sibling there who was like 4 years younger. .There’s no reason for him not to.  Jackson’s parents could have adopted another child. Also Chris & Victoria could have had another child. 

For that matter, Noah could have had a sibling or even Mel. It definitely didn’t have to be the kids that had siblings. 

I mean I get why they chose not to, but it would have been nice to have better surviving sibling relationships than Chris & Kate. (As in siblings who both survive.)

I’m not sure Derek & Cora really count anymore as they’ve been apart for a long while and don’t seem to be in contact as much any more.

But that’s just my feelings as someone who has a younger sibling and would have loved to see a better relationship than Talia & Peter or Chris & Kate.

So...

Watching the end of Voltron and rewatching season 6 (part 1 + 2) of Teen Wolf lead me to notice some things:

1. The show starts off much more lighthearted than the later seasons are. -Teen Wolf starts out kind of Twilight-esque. -Voltron was intended to be a kids show -The amount of violence and horror in Teen Wolf in the later seasons is not something found in dumb teen movies -Voltron in the later seasons attempts to address (I’m not saying they do a good job) the mature themes of loss, the horrors of war, mental illness (Keith is maybe suicidal, Lance is dealing with low self esteem, Shiro has PTSD) and sacrifice (Allura obviously but also almost Keith)

2. The plot gets convoluted and there’s too many villains. -Alpha Pack, Theo and the Dread Doctors, Evil Stiles, The Wild Hunt -Who is the main bad guy after Zarkon dies? -While watching Teen Wolf I feel like I should have a list of who leaves and where they go. Did they die or did they just fuck off to Europe I don’t remember

3. QUEER BAITING -I have nothing to say...Jeremy I trusted you!! We had a bonding moment my ass -Honestly Tyler and Dylan were literally on a ship. They were literally cuddling on a ship. Are you telling me that’s not queer baiting? I’m so angry NEXT

4. Kinda representation but not really. UGH you thought I was done? I’m not done.

-I will concede that Teen Wolf does a better job of this but to be fair Teen Wolf is supposed to exist in a world without homophobia. SO! What is Jackson’s sexuality? How the fuck did Jackson and Ethan become a couple? What was up with Liam and Theo in the elevator (also in the last season in general)? Is Stiles Bi? He never answered that woman’s (Katlin’s?) question. Does Derek have to shove Stiles up against walls? -I don’t even have questions to ask because there’s basically no representation. Adam could have been Shiro’s roommate. You wouldn’t even have to change anything. We literally know nothing about the man Shiro ends up marrying and everything we do get is in the last 30 seconds like they slapped it on to keep us from rioting

And the most frustrating part is we know at least some of the animators and directors and creators aren’t afraid of LGBT representation because these are the people who worked on legend of Korra and these are the people that said the show exists in a world without homophobia UGH ANYWAY!

5. For very different shows they have very similar endings. You kinda know where the characters are going in life but there’s still questions unanswered. -What is Theo doing in the tunnels? Scott’s voiceover says he’s an ally but last we saw we didn’t trust him also he was homeless so where is he living? Is he going to stay in Beacon Hills? I’m probably the only one who cares what Theo is doing so let’s move on. Alec. He’s joining the pack so? Is he moving to Beacon Hills? Where’s he gonna live? Are we just trusting Liam with strange werewolves that we adopt? Did Malia ever go to Paris? Did Scott go to college? And is Stiles in the FBI? Or is Monroe more important? Are Lydia and Stiles dating? Is Derek going to move back to Beacon Hills? Is Derek ever going to have a permanent residence? What happened to Danny? That’s not even really about the ending he just disappeared and I have questions! -We never get reunion hugs and I’m mad about it. Lance’s homesickness is a major topic and we never get to see him run slow-mo into his mother’s arms. Ridiculous. Lance just mourns his girlfriend forever? Are you kidding me they were dating for like 5 minutes. What is Coran doing? What about Romelle? And Keith is...alone? Forever? Idk I’ll be honest it was hard to read the postcards through ALL OF MY TEARS ABOUT KLANCE NOT BEING CANON

If you haven’t already, put those shipper goggles on because we’re going to talk about Sterek and Klance!

So...Derek and Keith are kinda the same person...and Stiles and Lance are kinda the same person...They got us twice! With the same ship! In all seriousness though I know that Derek and Keith, and Stiles and Lance are not the same people but they’re pretty similar and we’re here to talk about similarities.

D/K: brooding, good in a fight, does not talk about emotions

S/L: will not stop talking, probs bi with a crush on D/K and relentlessly flirts with the girl of their dreams that they have no chance with

And if you look at the course of their relationships they’re basically identical:

Starts off good. S/L knows D/K. (Stiles tells Scott Dereks whole background and Lance can recognize Keith by the back of his head at night with 100% confidence and accuracy) S/L almost immediately accuses D/K of something (Derek of murder and Keith of always trying to one up Lance) Definitely some sexual tension.

A brief interlude for some moments: Bonding Moment™️. We did it. We are a good team. Hey Lance I got your lion back. Leave the math to Pidge. Hey man we all miss Shiro. Pool Scene. (I meant pool scene in reference to Sterek but klance has one too. You see what I mean??) I think you two make a pretty good pair (everyone say thanks Matt). Start the car or I’m going to rip your throat out with my teeth. Sourwolf (yeah we’re gonna take that and run)

Literally save each other’s lives. Would probably die for the other.

Then one of them fucks off (and I scream “WHERE IS D/K I LOVE HIM” for the next 20 episodes)

S/L gets the girl that they’ve been pining over for forever who previously showed literally no interest in him

And then they have a reunion and you think maybe cause the keep having meaningful interactions but NO

Stiles does a spit take when he sees shirtless Derek running through the woods and then he says he got a little excited. Lance checks the hell out of Keith when he comes back 2 years older. Idk what’s real about the FBI op scene (I assume something in between probably closer to Derek’s version) but Stiles went on a dangerous op to save Derek’s ass and then I assume they drove back to Beacon Hills together in Stiles’ shitty Jeep (someone please give me a road trip fic). Keith and Lance have that rooftop scene. They literally watch the sunset together.

So yeah...I don’t know what to do with this information I have found. But it’s interesting.

Miller is totally Octavia's head of the guard

So like...how do they stick that cog on her head? They got bunker glue? I never cared much for the whole idea of Octavia and Niylah but this episode  is really selling it.

Love that its Dad!Kane who heard his daughter outside and now Abby is convinced that it's Clarke.

So much tension between these two it's like season 1 Kabby tension except that they've already had sex. This would be a really great time for them to have some angry hate sex. But like after they discover the door is shut.

Marcus we don’t have chains...but we do have tape. ;)

Everyone of Octavia's original council is not a part of her counsel anymore. With the exception of Indra who is on her way out. It will only be a matter of time before Indra is forced to make a choice.

She should have kept Marcus, Abby and Indra as her council.

"I didn't us all so we could just kill ourselves." Irony at it's finest.

How did I miss Oslaya? Octavia’s got like 50 names. Skairipa, Osylaya, Blodriena I can’t freaking keep them straight. 

That looks so appetizing.

I mean look how happy Marcus looks at getting fed. Almost as happy as he looked on the ark.

Honestly I’d rather sit with Abby then Jaha and his creepy adopted son any day.

"Whatever your fighting about, she'll come around." Well I guess everyone knows their a couple...but I guess neither of them  have been subtle about it. I mean Abby jabbed Jaha with a seditive and Marcus refushed to let her die outside.

"Uncle Theo, can I have some more?"  "Here Ethan have mine." Marcus never wanted that slop so any chance he can get to give it away he's going to take it.

"I'm still glad you stopped me from fighting Octavia for this place." They are really pushing redemption really hard for him. First he adopts a kid and now he's all happy Marcus gassed everyone.  Also...he wouldn't be saying that six years later....but it's Jaha maybe he would.

Jackson + Miller is so cute and I love it about a hundred times more than Brian & Miller. Plus it's about time that Jackson had some romance. Or a  plotline that doesn't just consist of "Hey Abby"

Also Abby is a Jackson/Miller shipper and I love it. Even though she's  pretty broken.

"Marcus said you had another headache..." MARCUS - the fact that Marcus and Jackson are on first name basis I love it so much. I can't wait to see more of their friendship and bond over loving Abby. I feel torn on one hand yeah Jackson really shouldn't be talking to Marcus about Abby but on the other hand it's great that he is because someone needs to take care of her because she's breaking and needs help. And she's in that ugly self loathing place.

Why'd you have to hit my bae?

"Abby opened the door. I wonder would you have done that if he was already safe inside?" maaaaybbe. Love that this show asks the hard questions. She was really uber conflicted about keeping the door shut. And it did extend beyond Marcus. But Marcus really was her main goal. and seeing Abby stab Jaha was everything.

"It will stop the next culling of our people." hahahaha Okay Kara Cooper. 

So Abby is in chains with Marcus...she had to have protested. I’d expect nothing less from my Abby. 

Abby says the C word. This is actually something I speculated on before the episode aired and before Abby mentions it. and...that's definitely what happened during the dark year. The blight or The dark year....whatever you want to call it.

And now I can REALLY see why Abby took that downward spiral and now much guilt she must feel for putting them into that situation. Poor girl can't win. Doing what she thinks is right. Telling Jaha about Jake and then having to live with it and him being floated. And having to live with that decision. Then pushing to open that door to save Marcus and the others and now....cannibalism.

Jaha is the boy in the book sitting by the tree and resting.

Wasn't Niyah kind of a doctor? Why is she now a street vendor for wonkru?

How to solve a problem like Octavia and Gaia? My speculation on season 5 was some serious sibling rivialy between Octavia and Gaia. Now it totally has flipped with Gaia completely encouraging this blood thirsty side of Octavia. With Indra 100% regretting pushing the two of them together. Octavia and Gaia are going to be a HUGE bloody force to be reckoned with. I am totally here for Indra being on the outside instead of the inside of her daughters.

Wonkru Population Reduction: Gladiator In this situation that Wonkru have found themselves, population reduction is something that is needed. Gladiatorial matches however feel like their going backwards instead of forward. And now Jaha's method of floating seems way less harsh. My question or speculation is that in 6 years it seems like the Gladiator matches have evolved from 'this is how we solve our problems with criminals' to 'this is entertainment'. 

No longer is the one to survive the match automatically granted freedom. Octavia votes on wheater you live or die. SO even if  you win the match you could still die.

Headcannon made clear by canon: Kabby are totally into BDSM. 

That is an insane amount of food. I dare TWO people to eat that much.

I also really thought that Abby wasn’t eating because she’s not eating when they are at lunch. Only takes her pills with water and then here she passes on the food. 

"Really? Then why did you try to float me on the ark?” When he told her he’d save her life even if he didn’t love her. She called him on his bullshit. I would have loved for him to respond to that but what could he have said? I’m a different man now. Which is true and she knows that. I feel like the reason why he didn’t respond is that he knows that he has no excuse for what he did. And again he doesn’t see things the way he did before. That whole exchange reminded me of last season when Marcus was trying to talk Bellamy out of going into the acid rain. And Bellamy yells at him that he floated his mom.  Another thing I wanted to point out is I love how much the two of them have gotten to know the other. They both see right through the other.

"I know you've never felt you were apart of the ark." In which case Octavia and Marcus switch places.

Who is this guy? I know I've seen him somewhere...and is Kara picking her nails? Wow so damned casual while she’s just waiting for people to die outside. 

I love that they have this gorgeous piece playing during the heartfelt Kabby scene. Abby going through withdrawal. Marcus watching Abby with concern and  so much love. My god he loves her so much. I love how he just puts his hand  on her back to calm her down.

"How did you think I could carry you outside and shut the door? Abby I'm sorry but I'm not that strong." Marcus LOVES YOU SO much. It's so devastating but so beautiful.

Even as broken as Abby is she doesn't regret saving him. And in all honesty I don't know if the other would have surved in that bunker if they hadn't saved the other one.

WHHHY!? did you have to interrupt their beautiful kiss!? The fact that Abby was  the one intiate it. Damn you!

Thelonius Jaha...May we not meet again. Really felt like this whole episode is them trying their best to redeem Jaha. Giving him this kid, saving wonkru and giving Octavia leadership advice. but.... I really have felt like Jaha's story had run out years ago. And that he might have meant to die at the end of season one but he just kept popping back up. And then he influenced Clarke just the way he did to Marcus and that shit was going down bad.

Gaia reallly loves herself some bloodshed.

Kara is the first winner of the pit and Marcus is the last. BE THE LAST. and Marcus was the last.

Day 08

Stiles loved how Lydia started to plan their life together. He loved when she used the word WE meaning them, together, living in a beautiful yellow house (it could be baby blue if she wanted, but he preferred yellow) with two beautiful kids, or more, and a dog, or a cat. He loved the idea of sharing the bed with her and being really caution to not wake her up when he was going to work in the middle of the night, he also loved the idea of not being able to go to work without giving her a kiss on the forehead.

Stiles loved the idea of having a lot of pictures of them in the living room, and on the stare walls, pictures with Scott and Malia, Liam, Mason, Corey, Hayden, Kira, Derek, Jackson, Ethan, Dani, Isaac… And of course Allison. Too many people, maybe Lydia would just make an album and leave it in a precious place inside the wardrobe.

Stiles loved the idea of deciding everything with her, he loved the idea of going to the adoption fair and get back to their house with a beautiful dog, he loved the idea of going to the supermarket, and visiting houses for sale, or just simply deciding between Star Wars and The Notebook (even so she would always win). Stiles loved the idea of sharing his life with her because he knew Lydia was going to share hers with him too.

He kept replaying in his head all the times he fell in love with Lydia a little bit more. And even those times when he thought all that feeling was behind him, she would make him remember she was there. He understood after all of those years, after all they’ve been through, after relationships and almost-dying situations, that he could never love someone like he loved Lydia Martin, because everything he did was for her, he bought a thousand gifts for her birthday, he tried to save her, he even let her be with Jackson because he thought that’s what she wanted. He tried so hard to help her understand what she was, and he got really proud when she could use her powers and help people. Lydia was smart, and a powerful women. She could rule the world if she wanted to, because she could get anywhere she wanted. Stiles really believed that.

All he wanted in the world was to talk to her every day, look at her every day, built a live with her and never let it go. Never let go of all the times they looked at each other and found strength. Never let go of all the times he almost held her hand, and also the times that he did (and their hands fitted perfectly).

Never let go of all the times he couldn’t sleep because he knew she wasn’t okay and all Stiles wanted to do was stop her suffering, no matter what was its source. Never let go of all the times they argued, because he loved her face when she was stressed, just for a little bit.

Never let go of all the times they kissed so intensely. Stiles would never forget the feeling, it was almost like he was flying but at the same time he was stuck in the ground and couldn’t move. It was the best feeling he ever felt (even so the times she smiled at Stiles and gave him stomach butterflies were really, really good).

Stiles believed everything he could see. But love... love was something different. Love was SOMETHING. He never saw it for a long time, but never stoped believeing in it, and that was the best decision he ever made. 

Loving Lydia Martin was intense, was ups and downs, sweet and hot, smie and tears, heart beating fast and heart not beating. How could someone make him feel so many things? So many good things? 

Stiles probably knew every single part of her face, the color of her hair, the color of her eyes, and color of her skin. The color of her soul. Lydia was colourfull.And he was afraid of forgetting sometime. People say that when you are a part from someone for a big time, their traces start disappearing of your mind. It’s almost like when you wake up from a really great dream, the second you open your eyes you can remember every spiece of what you dreamed, but as time passes by, you start forgetting. That’s why he kept a picture of the four of them (Stiles, Lydia, Malia and Scott) inside his wallet, because anytime he thought he was forgetting, ho could just take the photo and remember.

He loved her. That’s why being apart was so difficult, and almost impossible. When she went to help him with the apartment in DC he asked Lydia to stay just one time, because he couldn’t watch her eyes turn so sad. And that’s why he thought of going back to Beacon Hills so badly, because she was there.

You stood there in the room staring at the little baby girl in a carrier ever so carefully set on the Sheriff’s desk. All she was did was sleeping through what you would consider the most life changing and heartbreaking thing. When Sheriff Stilinski called you into the station following a huge devastation in your life you didn’t expect this.

You twisted your ring on your wedding finger as the repercussions of losing your best friend impacted your life. Yesterday you were just a new wife of barely two months and now you were a mother also. And not in the traditional sense you had envisioned. Instead of happy, exhausted tears after a birth your face was painted with streams of watered down makeup and pain filled heart.

“W-what happened exactly?” You meekly questioned as a social worker stood stationary near the baby.

“Lucy and Reese were on their way home when a drunk driver hit them.” Sheriff Stilinski slowly began just at the door to his office burst open. You husband stood there taking in the room.

“Did they…they suffer?” You asked pressing your hand under your chin trying to keep from crying again.

“The medical examiner told me the force of the crash would have immediately died on impact. Their car was towed out of the water and a quick examination showed no struggle in their lungs.” Sheriff replied.

“What’s going on?”

“Scott. Lucy and Reese were killed last night around midnight.”

“They…they were celebrating their anniversary. It was the first night they weren’t home with Andy since they were still expecting.” You spoke. Your eyes still trained on the innocent little girl.

“Why are we here?” Your husband said coming closer to press a hand on your lower back. He was still in the scrubs he had left home in this morning.

“Lucy and Reese named you as the guardians for Andy if things would come to that.” The social worker replied stepping forward with her hand held out, “I’m Jane. I’ve been working after Andy since she was put in my care.”

“Wait. We’re now the parents of a little child?”

“Yes.”

“A cat or dog is significantly different from a baby.”

“Mr. McCall you have the right to make a decision if you want to place Andy up for adoption or not.” Jane said grabbing a bag to hand to you, “I’ve placed a list in the diaper bag of what you’ll need and how you should care for her. I know the first night is overwhelming amid the other emotions.”

“Uh. Thanks.” You mumbled while Sheriff sent a sympathetic smile at the two of you. Jane smiled reassuringly before she walked out of the office.

“I’ll drive you guys home.” Sheriff said grabbing his jacket from the hook.

“We can drive.” Scott said slowly walking to the carrier. His eyes were glued to the still form breathing with her lips only a tiny bit open.

“No you can’t. Scott you’re not blinking and not thinking properly.” Sheriff said placing his hand on Scott’s shoulder, “I’ll ask Parrish to take me home. Besides I still know my way around a car seat instalment.”

Needless to say Scott and you stood beside the car with Andy beginning to wake up and hushed profanities in the backseat. Sheriff was still trying to figure out the car seat.

“These damn things have changed!” Sheriff grunted leaning back to glare at the damn contraption.

“Things have changed Sheriff.” Scott chuckled, “You haven’t needed once since Stiles was a baby.”

“It shouldn’t be this difficult.”

“It’s been twenty-seven years since Stiles was physically able to fit in one.” You muttered as Scott awkwardly swayed Andy as her lip began to quiver.

“Don’t remind me that my adult son and the energy of a kid still.” Sheriff sighed pushing his hands into his hair as the rain started to fall, “That’s it.”

“Call Lydia?” Scott and you spoke at the same time knowing the genius would know. For christ sake she began a qualified professor because she was bored.

“I’d rather not call Ethan and Jackson.” You sighed rolling your eyes, “Jackson gloats about his kid and he would hold this over our head.”

“Jackson’s putting Max into kid lacrosse.” Scott replied, “He asked me if he would help train him.”

“Jackson did?” You asked shocked.

“Okay maybe Ethan asked me.” Scott chuckled as headlights lit you guys up and an annoyed girl got out of the vehicle.

“What do you need?” Lydia asked shutting her car off to join you, “When did you get pregnant and have a baby? I just saw you on Saturday.”

“This is Andy.” You grimaced as you remembered how you become the caregiver for the little girl.

“Andy as in Reese and Lucy’s little girl?” Lydia questioned stepping back in shock, “Lydia hadn’t been close with the couple but she had talked to them a little in high school.

“They were in an accident last night.” Scott supplied as Andy began to coo.

“Did they…”

“Yeah. They named us as the guardians.” Scott sighed as Lydia swooped in to correctly place the car seat in before undoing the straps of Andy to pull her jacket down and redoing the straps once she was done.

“Thank you.” You whispered watching as Andy latched onto her bunny with her mouth.

“If you need help call the Whittemores.” Lydia said beginning to walk back to her car, “Good luck.”

“This is really happening.” You sighed as Scott helped you to sit in the backseat before climbing into the front seat with the Sheriff.

“You’ll do fine. You have friends and family that will help.” Sheriff calmly stated, “You’ll figure it out.”

You had gotten into your small apartment while Sheriff was picked up by Parrish to return to the station. Scott placed Andy on the table before you realized something. You didn’t have anything for Andy to sleep in.

“Shit.” You groaned.

“Don’t swear in front of her.” Scott glared as he undid the straps to take Andy into his arms.

“We don’t have anything other than her diaper bag and carseat.” You sighed collapsing into the chair.

“Can we put her on the couch?”

“No. It’s not safe.” You sighed as the doorbell rang. Getting up you opened the door to see Ethan standing there with a small box and a larger one. Behind him Jackson stood holding their four year old son with striking features that matched Jackson.

“Lydia called us.” Ethan smiled coming in to place the boxes in the living room, “We have Max’s old crib and an extra play pen for you.”

“We got new things for our unborn baby.” Jackson smirked, “You can have the old ones.”

“Jackson shut up.” Ethan hissed before rolling his eyes.

“Your having another baby?” You questioned surprised.

“Our surrogate agreed to carry our baby again. We used Ethan’s sperm this time.”

“Sperm!” Max squealed clapping his hands together. Ethan groaned sending a heated glare to his husband.

“Stop talking.”

“Uh thanks.” Scott said grabbing one of the boxes to take to the spare room you had. It was empty seeing as you guys were saving up money for a house and you had just moved in last month.

“You should set up the play pen in your room for the night. She’ll want her parents and supporting her with help you all bond together.” Ethan said kneeling in the spare the spare bedroom to build the crib. Jackson bounced Max as the little boy yawned feeling the late night.

“Don’t heat the bottle in the microwave.” Jackson inserted, “Read stories to her.”

“Call if you need help.” Ethan said leaning back once the things were set up. Reaching for Jackson’s hand he led his family out of the apartment leaving you and Scott severely overwhelmed.

“We can do this right?” Scott gulped.

“I think so.” You nervously replied as Andy’s lip bang to quiver, “Is she going to-“

Andy interrupted your sentence by beginning to cry an insane amount. Shoving your hands into  your hair you winced at the height of the crying. What the hell do you do?

“What the hell.” Scott stated racing towards the diaper bag where three sheets of typed instructions were. Tips on what to do and how to do it.

“Maybe she’s hungry?” You suggested. Following the instructions to a ’t’ you gently picked up Andy from Scott to feed her. The only problem was that she immediately turned her face away, “Okay not hungry.”

“I’m calling my mom.” Scott called out over the screaming. You nodded while gently swaying with Andy.

You hummed remembering how you watched people in public places soothe their children but nothing was working. Her diaper was clean. She wasn’t hungry and the paper said she wasn’t teething yet. In the time you had seen her when her parents were living you barely remembered how they soothed her.

“I don’t think we can do this.” Scott sighed rubbing his tear-filled eyes. You were close to calling the social worker.

“Hey little bug.” You barely even heard Melissa walk into the apartment. Her soothing voice persuaded Andy to quiet down before she was smoothly switched into Melissa’s arms, “I’m Melissa. I’m his mother.”

While her screams weren’t as loud that didn’t mean that Andy was calming down at all. You were tempted to find any alcohol in the damn apartment but with Scott being unaffected you didn’t have any. Besides you didn’t want to start reluctant motherhood off as a drunken fool.

“Sweetheart you have stop crying. Hey can I tell you a story?” Melissa cooed gently bouncing Andy in her arms while supporting her head.

“Please. Please just stop crying.” You whimpered shoving your face into your hands. You didn’t even need to look to know that Scott was in the same boat.

It all came to a stop when Andy sighed before a sharp cute giggle came from her mouth. in her little hands was a slightly raggedy stuffed animal that had seen better days. You awed when Andy pulled the stuffed animal into her arms.

“How did you do that?” Scott marvelled with new respect for his mother.

“You were exactly the same. If you were crying and nothing helped we would give you this and you would quit crying on the spot.” Melissa explained, “This is Bear. It was yours.”

Scott smiled as his mother navigated parenthood with Andy within just a few moment. It was more calming then watching Ethan built both a crib and a play pen within ten minutes. It was more than a brainiac properly place a car seat in. It was knowing that a woman raising a son with a barely there father and then as the only parent he knew. If his mother could do this alone then Scott could do it with you.

“Thanks mom.” Scott whispered.

“It’s nothing.” Melissa grinned, “It’s more for my benefit because she is too cute.”

“I respect you so much more now.” Scott admitted hesitating to come closer to Andy.

“I’ll give you a tip. Parenting isn’t a science, you can’t learn everything from a book or an app. You learn through examples and by going through this. It’s scary, that I won’t lie, but it’s the most rewarding part of life.”

“Thank you.” You sighed as Melissa began to show you how to place Andy down and a visual presentation on how to do things.

“Did you know she doesn’t have a middle name?” You asked Scott as you sipped from the coffee cup early in the morning. You liked seeing a bare chested Scott cuddling Andy at the breakfast table while feeding her a bottle.

“She doesn’t?”

“When Lucy told me her name was Andy I asked her what the middle name was. Lucy told me that they wanted to choose her middle name when she was little older because it was a family tradition in Reese’s family.”

“Did they ever pick a name?”

“No. I wanted you to consider maybe giving her Reese as a middle name? I remember that Lucy was telling me that Reese is a family name. I want to keep that going so that Andy always had a piece of family.” You explained picking at the toast in front of you.

“We’ve had Andy for a week now. Have we decided if we want to keep her?” Scott asked shifting Andy into a proper burping position. He was rewarded with an adorable burp.

“I think we both know.” You chuckled looking at the little girl that was beginning to look like Lucy more and more each day.

“We should tell the pack.” Scott said looking up, “We could finally tell them that we have a little girl.”

“Guess we don’t need to find a babysitter for today.” You chuckled making faces at Andy.

That pack was having a more private school reunion to both celebrate surviving the perils of the supernatural. Things fluctuated in the town every once in a while with the large amount of the town knowing about the supernatural. If you were supernatural you were accepted by everyone but you were also aware of that invisible line between the humans and you guys.

“Do you think Lydia told Stiles?”

“Probably not.” You shrugged, “They haven’t spoke to each other in two years. Do you know what went wrong there? Lydia won’t tell me anything.” 
“Stiles won’t either.” Scott sighed, “They were together for nearly six years and out of no where broke up?”

“Distance?”

“Can’t be.” You huffed before grabbing Andy, “It’s my time on diaper duty.”

It was hard to adjust to having to remember you weren’t caring only for yourself anymore. You had to take it account of packing extra outfits if you went out for Andy, diapers and formula. You had make a schedule and not get frustrated when Andy woke you up in the night. You already loved her to bits though.

Of course you weren’t a whiz at parenthood yet, you called Melissa at least three days a day now which questions that most parents would find stupid. Melissa found it endearing and quite frankly was pleased that you two came to her for help instead of modern day technology.

“Did you grab extra diapers?” You called out with your keys in hand. You had placed your second hand car up for sale to get a better model, it would put a dent in your finances but you wanted safety for Andy.

“Yeah. Wipes are in there also.” Scott replied strapping Andy into her car seat with her ever present Bear. You swore she never could part with it unless it was bath time because her ducky took the role.

“We have the swing right?” You questioned turning the lights off in the room.

“Jackson and Ethan have their swing still set up.” Scott returned before opening up his newer SUV. His bike was still beside in it’s usual parking spot. Selling your car would allow you to use the SUV until you could buy a second hand vehicle of your own.

“We have everything.” You sighed as Andy gurgled with Bear’s ear in her mouth. The short journey to the Whittemore house was longer than usual and filled with the happy coos from the back seat.

Scott drove slower with Andy in the vehicle even if it meant getting rude gestures and yelling from passing vehicles. He couldn’t help it, you were both responsible for the safety of a vulnerable little human that couldn’t heal like Scott.

“How do you think Stiles will react?” You asked as the beat up jeep came into view parked on the street.

“It’s Stiles. We can’t right off the bat know what will happen.” Scott chuckled, “You want to grab the diaper bag?”

“Sure.” You shrugged while your husband shut the vehicle off to grab the curious baby.

Before either of you got to the door Ethan was already standing there with the door open and a welcoming smile on his face. Jackson would never truly admit it but marrying Ethan had mellowed him out and brought out of his egotistical self loathing. That and having a miniature version of himself helped.

“Hey guys.” Ethan smiled motioning you to step into the large foyer. Ethan knelt down to see Andy in all her glory.

You however continued into the living room where the pack was congregating as usual. Malia stood with her hands in her pockets striking up a conversation with Mason whereas Theo and Liam were bickering as usual. Corey was sitting the couch close to Mason. Nolan was shuffling on his feet under Stiles still suspicious look. Lydia was in a conversation with Alec, the newest member after the battle with Gerard and Monroe in Beacon Hills.

“I’m not into fashion or understanding it but that’s a strange version of a handbag.” Stiles said as you walked into the living room with the diaper bag resting on one shoulder.

“That’s because it isn’t.” Scott called out as he walked into the room.

“Who’s that?” Stiles asked walking closer, “I haven’t not seen you in nine months and I’m sure you would have told me about your child.”

“This is Andy. A week ago she came into our lives.”


“She looks a little older than a week.” Malia inserted sniffing the air to catch the baby’s scent, “Besides Y/N hasn’t changed.”

“This Lucy and Reese’s daughter. They were in an accident and we’re Andy’s guardians.”

“And you didn’t tell me?” Stiles burst.

“They don’t have to tell you anything Stiles.” Lydia huffed rolling her eyes.

“Sounds like someone I know.” Stiles snapped back.

“Can you go have sex? I’m drowning in your pheromones and it’s annoying.” Malia grunted with a huff of breathe. She’s gotten better with the filter but it’s still a work in progress.

“Shut up.” Stiles grunted raising his hand to scratch his scruff that had build on his face. His eyes still that whiskey brown colour but it lacked the same youthful expression in them. He was haunted both by the supernatural and human nature of his life.

“She’s cute. Good thing she isn’t Scott’s kid.” Mason joked leaning in to get a look at the carseat, “You are adorable.”

“She is pretty cute.” Nolan blushed as eyes locked onto him. While he wasn’t going around stabbing random people he was still awkward.

“That’s a lot of responsibility.” Stiles interjected earning a heavy eyeroll from his ex-girlfriend.

“I think I can handle a baby if I can handle you.” Scott retorted as he began to unstrap Andy to meet everyone in the room. The poor baby was curious about everyone in the room that exuded power.

Being passed around wasn’t the greatest thing for a young child still adapting to life but she was irresistible to the pack. Even Theo was taken with the little girl that he wanted to sit by and talk because an innocent child wouldn’t know about the things he had done and judge him. Of course Stiles would try to keep him away.

“That’s rude.” Stiles chortled fearful when Andy reached out to him. Andy shoved her fist into her mouth while staring at the male, “Why is she staring at me?”

“Maybe she likes your ugly mug.” Theo smirked earning another glare from his least favourite person.

“I’m guessing we can’t use the alcohol?” Malia questioned.

“It wouldn’t even work on you.” Mason said shaking his head.

“But it’s fun to drink and watch others be idiots.” Malia retorted crossing her arms.

“No alcohol.” Lydia said shaking her head as she wandered closer to the baby, “Can I hold her?”



“She seems pretty enamored with Stiles.” You said shifting on your feet.

“I don’t know why.” Lydia breathed rolling her eyes at the mention of her ex-boyfriend.

“You were once enamored with me too.” Stiles goaded with an uncharacteristic smirk painted on his face. Scott and you slowly backed out of the room causing a rippling effect when everyone else began to also.

Unaware of not having an audience Lydia and Stiles came toe to toe as the tension burst from the awkwardness and agony between each. In the two years each had manage to not speak to one another amid the reasoning behind being stubborn. Each didn’t want to admit that the relationship failed because they weren’t properly communicating like they should have.

“Does anyone know why they broke up?” You challenged sitting on the lounge chair in the backyard. Everyone had found their own little spot to converse on while the two inside continued.

“Honestly?” Malia asked, “Lydia wouldn’t budge and she always managed to keep her chemo-signals from giving away her reactions.”

“It’s the same with Stiles. He did everything he could to not be in the presence of us. Making excuses of working and broken down vehicles.” Scott admitted bouncing Andy on his knee, “In the time since their relationship ended I’ve only seen him in person a few times and our wedding was the longest.”

“It’s Stiles.” Jackson snorted leaning back in his chair. Ethan keeping a hand on his thigh as he did so.

“It was bound to explode.” Corey said shifting on his feet, “Like the fight between Scott and Stiles when Theo was still an ass-“

“Still is.” Liam mumbled dodging a swing from the boy in question.

“It’s my house and I’m kicked out of it.” Jackson grunted.

“We don’t use the backyard much.” Ethan hummed looking over the large green fenced in area.


“That’s because we’re either in the living room, kitchen or spending quality time in our bed.” Jackson retorted with a playful smirk.

“There’s no fighting.” Malia interrupted cocking her head to the side, “It’s silent.”

Sharing a look with Scott you gently shifted Andy from your arms into Liam’s. Like Stiles Liam looked fearful at being left with a baby. Pushing the door open you slinked in with some pack members behind you to peak into the living room. Standing in the middle of the room with his one hand in her hair and her head resting on his chest was a serene image of the couple you remembered from graduation.

“Maybe we should take Andy to the park before it gets dark.” Jackson whispered to the group.

“Are you being nice to Stiles.” You questioned shocked.

“I don’t care about the spaz. I care about her, she’s had it rough her entire life and I admit I contributed to it. She deserves happiness and he makes her happy.” Jackson lightly smiled pulling Ethan’s hand into his own, “We’ll just get the housekeeper to clean every inch of the house and maybe get a new couch.”

“I knew he couldn’t not be an ass.” Mason huffed albeit the sight of the Stydia reunion making his grab Corey’s hand in his.

Andy was able to pull her self up onto the couch and make hesitated steps along the couch as she wobbled and just in the last few days she was walking by her self. In the eight months you had been her parent you had become more confident in your parenting and it became easier. You were adamant that each night you told Andy a story of her biological parents and had a picture hanging on the wall in her nursery.

There was a routine and having Stiles and Lydia over once a week helped maintain stability in your non parenting social group while being parents. You also liked knowing that Andy was the sole reason that Stiles and Lydia were happily back together with an engagement ring on Lydia’s finger now.

“Mama!” Andy called with a large almost toothless grin.

“Come on Andy! Say Stiles!” Stiles groaned from the living room carpet.

“Mama!”

“No! Stiles. Sti…les.” Stiles slowly spoke gently grasping Andy’s hand.

“It’s a lost cause.” Scott chuckled as he set down a plate of food to cool down for Andy, “She calls everyone Mama.”

You awed when Scott bent down to scoop Andy into his arms to blow a raspberry on her cheek. It was a perfect Hallmark moment with Scott snuggling your daughter and Stiles haphazardly stretched out on the ground with a severe case of uncle fever.

“Hey Lydia! Can we have one?” Stiles called out to the kitchen where Lydia was finishing putting a salad together.

“Stiles. I’m not being pregnant during the summer.” Lydia mused thinking of all the pros and cons of it.

“Wait is that a yes?!” Stiles exclaimed tripping over himself.

“Our babies could be best friends or date!” Scott burst excitedly.

“That’s quite a-“

“YOU’RE PREGNANT?!” Lydia gushed dropping the knife you hug you, “Oh my god! That’s why we aren’t having wine!”

“We are. We’re looking at a small house near Melissa’s house.” You admitted resting your hands on your small bump, “We’re thinking of naming the baby after Lucy. Luke for boy and Lucy for a girl.”

“Stiles!” Andy gleefully yelled clapping her hands.

History: Danny was a normal kid in most aspects of life. He adored spending time with his best friend, video games and not having to go to school. But he was also learning about what he could do; what his family could do from a long time back. The Mahealani family was druid by blood, and Danny was learning about herbs and their magical properties, how they could both defend and attack. The knowledge was kept secret from everyone - even his best friend Jackson - as the family worked with local vet Alan Deaton to keep the territory as safe as possible. Danny had never meant to get involved, but when he overheard Stiles and Scott talking about things that most would have brushed off as a D&D session, he became much more aware. Jackson acting odd didn’t help, and he was quick to piece that his friend was after the bite and began working to either deter or help protect Jackson when the other inevitably found himself in trouble from a world he knew nothing about. He didn’t imagine that Jackson would become a kanima, let alone that said kanima would try to come after him. However, when everything was solved and Jackson’s adopted parents sent him away to a private boarding school, Danny found himself alone in a way that was foreign since Jackson had always been there. He knew tings were going to get worse and asked if he could help Scott and the others, but Deaton told him to keep as far away from revealing he knew about the real world for his safety, but when he met Ethan, things became complicated. He knew the other was a werewolf - an alpha - but he wasn’t sure what their intentions were. So as he got close to Ethan, he was also keeping an eye on anything he overheard he and his brother talking about. He wasn’t surprised when Ethan left, though. Some people had an odd way of grieving and Ethans’ was leaving. However, when he discovered that Ethan and Jackson had met and become an item, he took time away from everyone and finsihed the school year out of state by sending in his assignments. Now he’s just out to get into a good college and maybe at some point find a pack to help.

Teen Wolf Backstories Pt. #1

There's this thing.

You see, in Teen Wolf, the backstories for characters is something that's a little hard to come by. A little muddled, a little biased, or fully missing - backstories for characters, they're a limited resource. We know Derek's, as much as is necessary, we know some of Peter's, we know a fair bit about Deucalion, we know some of the Sheriff's - more now, thanks to season 6, so I suppose it was good for something - we know a bit about Claudia, we know a whole lot more about Garret Douglas than I care to know, we know a little about Stiles and Scott and Theo and Malia, but we don't really know a whole lot - and when it comes to Lydia and Jackson and Aiden and Ethan and Danny and Melissa and Agent McAsshole (whoops, sorry, Agent McCall) and Chris and Kate and everyone else, it's pretty much a blank slate.

Here's what we know for Scott (since as he's the main dude, he'll go first):

Scott lived with his Mum and Dad McAsshole when he was little, and moved to beacon hills during the fourth grade; so when he was about nine, with them.

Agent McAsshole left after a drunken bout of 'accidental' child abuse never to be seen again (well, unfortunately showing back up again unwanted during season three).

Melissa got a divorce (???) at some point, though she kept McAsshole's last name (????) for some reason (??????)

Scott was diagnosed with Asthma when exactly? Did he have an attack and that was how it was found out? What?? Tell meeee-

Scott was befriended by Theo who was asthmatic (? or manipulative and a liar, take your pick) and by association Stiles. 

Likely bullied a little by Jackass but probably being friends with the likes of Stiles and Theo, that would have ended very quickly if it did indeed happen in the first place (I feel like it probably did).

Stopped being friends with Theo probably at the start of fifth grade when Theo was nine/ten and killed his sister, basically forgot about him after that; they weren't really close, though he easily recognised him - which could either mean Scott has a really good memory or Theo looks really similar to how he used to look.

Didn't know Stiles when Stiles' mum had recently died, see Stiles' bit on having panic attacks when his mum died and having to say this implying that Scott hadn't known that - so they likely became friends after Stiles' panic attacks stopped for the most part, which means maybe Scott wasn't really friends with them until the end of fourth grade regardless so he didn't have much time to be friends with Theo anyway (????)

Scott didn't know Heather existed - Stiles explained why they were going to her party - so Stiles was his only friend after Theo left (and vice versa) 

Nothing interesting happened until sophomore year, when he got bitten, and voila, the start of the series.

Okay, so that was a little more cohesive than I thought, onto Stiles:

Claudia diagnosed around about when he was six, I think?

Stiles diagnosed with ADHD may be a little after or before that, or maybe when he's seven, or eight, maybe they catch it late or maybe they caught it early, at five, or four, but I doubt that - maybe they didn't catch it while Claudia was ill, maybe they only caught the anxiety, maybe they only caught that after his first panic attack, when was that - was that before Claudia died or after? - maybe Stiles only got diagnosed after his dad stopped being massively alcoholic/workaholic and actually paid attention to him and his school reports, maybe Stiles started his medication when he was ten, eleven, twelve - who knows??? The show doesn't say. Stiles still has to reassure Scott that he's taken his Adderall in season one, so maybe Stiles started taking it after he met Scott, or maybe he's just reassuring Scott because he's acting a little frantic and Scott doesn't really get it - who knows, again??? Who Knows????

Basically, you can do a shit tonne with that, that's all I'm saying. I've got it at him being diagnosed at the same time Claudia gets her false diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder from her pretty crappy local doctor, so a year or so before Claudia gets hit with the knowledge of Frontotemporal Dementia - though I've definitely got scenarios of a different nature in my head, I assure you. Most if not all of my fics follow my current set-up with the story I've already got on AO3 in the Backstory Collection, but some don't. The ones in my head don't, whoops.

Stiles is friends w/ Heather when young enough to take baths with her and have that not be Weird - so really, really young, then. Likely because Claudia and Heather's parent(s) were friends - mother or father? Dunno. Do they stop being close-but-close-enough-to-get-invited-to-parties-and-send-Christmas-cards before Stiles befriends Theo, or after? Was it a trio of Heather-Stiles-Theo, for a while, or was it Stiles-Heather Stiles-Theo and then just Stiles-Theo? Was Erica a friend of his when young, or did he not speak to her ever until season two?? Did Stiles ever meet Isaac or Boyd or whatever - did Stiles want to be Boyd's friend because they used to be, or was it just something he wanted at the time?

anyway, so that's that for that part

Stiles gets a 'crush' on Lydia in the third grade - he's the one to call it an obsession, not me - perhaps its more a fixation on something that isn't complicated? A way to distract himself from his problems at home?

Claudia attacks Stiles on the roof. Has she done this before? Has she done the physical part multiple times, the verbal, or both? How often? Or was it just the once? And did she go to Eichen House, and if so, was it before or after this incident? Also likely her words - 'he's trying to kill me' - left a scar called that guilt complex he carries around and also the thing where he thinks he's evil in season five after he unlocks this horrible memory.

Claudia dies when Stiles is eight/nine - going into fourth grade, I think. 

Stiles starts having panic attacks, but as far as he knew they'd stopped by season two's time.

(oh, no they hadn't. My poor man.)

Stiles' dad starts heavily drinking and heavily working. Stiles starts having to look after the both of them - we see leftovers of this in the show; Stiles bringing his dad food and being really very insistent about what he eats, etc.

Stiles is friends with both Theo and Scott at this point, more the former than the latter, anyone else is gone.

Stiles stops being friends with Theo at the start of fifth grade, I guess, which is about the time Theo kills his sister - Stiles feels bitter and angry and alone, so alone, so he latches onto Scott and probably punches Jackson in the face a few times, and likely vows hatred of Theo for the rest of his life - but he could never think the worst of him, that's why he was so insistant that the Theo in season five wasn't Theo at all, but rather an imposter, a fake, because Stiles didn't want to think of his childhood friend that way - the kid who helped him through panic attacks, the guy that distracted him when his dad was drunk and rambling and useless, or at work for days on end - Stiles can't think of him negatively, because Stiles has always struggled with seeing the faults in those he cares about - struggled with admitting them to himself.

I guess sixth grade (???) and onwards is pretty boring? Fifth grade the Sheriff cleans up his act, or maybe it takes two years, and Stiles is eleven - who knows. But maybe, maybe, sixth grade and onwards until sophomore year things are quiet. Stiles drags Scott out to increasingly more illegal and dangerous activities because Scott made the mistake of whining about how boring their town is - and that's that. Stiles finds out about a body in the woods - and they go. And all hell breaks loose.
