thinking about what if data were aromantic. even after he gets the emotion chip put in, he still just doesn’t feel romantic love, and doesn’t understand what other people are feeling when they talk about it. and he’s really upset at first because he feels like after everything he’s been through to get here he still isn’t fully human. there’s still a piece missing. he’s tapped into every work of art humans have ever created and romance seems so ubiquitous that he thinks you can’t be human without it

i’m imagining this as like a b or c plot of an episode. maybe he’s been working with a crew member who turns out to be aromantic and they commiserate about how alienating it can be to hear everyone talk about romance all the time. everyone comes together at the end to help him realize that he feels so many different kinds of love, and no human’s experience with emotions is exactly the same and your humanity doesn’t depend on what emotions you do or don’t feel anyway

i think this would be a good episode. i would enjoy it

I need a whole fic where the Cerritos is mistaken for the Enterprise by some type of alien with very high intelligence but very poor visual recognition, for whatever reason.

And Freeman either can't or is too scared to convince them that they're not the Enterprise, so she starts desperately assigning everyone to various roles. Boimler gets assigned as Data, and since he and Mariner are the only people on the ship who play string instruments, the captain orders them to put together some sort of "symphony" because the aliens have heard that that's a thing on the Enterprise.

And it's just Mariner and Boimler frustratedly trying to figure out how to combine her electric guitar skills and his traditional violin skills into something suitably "symphonic" (i.e. thematically trying to combine her more lax/modern way of doing things with his more strict/traditional way).

Hugh, nooooooo, you can't just say things like that and then sacrifice yourself. Your first real act of independence is still to do what is best for the collective group. It is your choice and it isn't even the choice you want but it is the one you need to make.

Coming from a group where you were forced to be a mindless drone, and now you can use the word I instead of we. We finally hear your voice, yours alone, no echoing or overlay of others, and it is to declare the sacrifice of the self you had gained only so recently.

The enterprise had been ready to treat you like the borg had as a tool for the use of the group, but you showed them. You took every gentle hand they dared reached out and pulled yourself out of tar to be an individual only to jump back in to keep the torrent back.

Lovely's eyes were two different when they were human and since Vincent's eyes are silver with sp of Crimson it got both colors just in a different way. Its powers turned their hair blonde and after they were turned they dyed the end of it blue

I don't know much about Hudson but I love drawing him and I really like the color palette I gave him.

They are one of my favorite Listener designs, and if you can't tell they have spider bites piercings but tbh I think I just really like the blue and purple color palette cause Baabe has the same color palette just different shades

rewatched star trek nemesis and hoo boy all i gotta say is

obviously i would never say anything mean about spock but if i was working on the enterprise and said something nasty and the captain asked me to repeat it in that tone of voice with that expression on his face while not even looking at me i'd kill myself immediately. kirk gave that dude the fucking business. that whole moment was bananas and the fact that picard is NOT stepping the fuck up means i can't respect him
