Tasked with setting her on the right path towards good, but to make things more complicated, the family's live-in hire, Alastor, is actually a demon that's been trying to tempt Charlie's dad to the opposite side! So how can this unlikely pair keep their respective truths hidden when mysteries start to unfold, how do they play house while also playing tug-of-war for Heaven & Hell, and just HOW did they get in this situation in the first place? Well, one thing's for certain, family dinners will never be boring as feelings unravel and everything grand is yet to be revealed. So tune in~!

Because, let me tell you, the ride I've prepared is so convoluted, I wish I charge people for it, but it's FREE! Epic the Musical Vengeance Saga just dropped so heres my thoughts on it!!

Overall thoughts: A lot shorter than I thought it was going to be BUT, THAT MAY BE BECAUSE OF THE ITHICA SAGA HAVING SO MANY LONG SONGS

Wait nevermind, it’s the next day and I just realized how long the Vengeance saga is I think I was just tired and it just seemed like it was fast

Also very Nerve racking, and I literally sat there eyes wide and mouth agape almost the entire time oh my god it was so fucking cool, the animation??? Like huh???

Now onto the songs before I start getting into specifics!

Song 31: Not Sorry for Loving you

I am not a Calypso fan, normally I don’t like her in any adaptation or original version, but, with that said, this is the first song that really made me re think that. (Still hate her though, but I tried to put in two perspectives)

The way that Jorge made it so you can really see how tragic Calypso is and really feel for her, is it definitely not ok that she kept Odysseus trapped against his will: yes, but really being alone for so long it makes sense.

Wangui really out did herself, the way you can tell the voice change from Love in paradise which is more upbeat and energetic, to this sad, distant voice in Not sorry for loving you, showing just how much she doesn’t want to let Odysseus go but knows its for the best, no matter how much it hurts her to

I feel like Calypso admitted that she did something wrong but yet still saying shea not sorry for loving Odysseus makes the song more in character and more realistic for her

On the other side; her words are trying to make Odysseus stay. She thinks if she can make Odysseus feel bad for her by telling her all this he will stay with her, but Odysseus is tired of this, it probably isn’t the first time where Calypso tried to convince him not to leave with her words. Despite being tired of the island, he still has his wits and knows better to fall for it

Saying “I’m not sorry for loving you” is completely getting rid of the “apologies” she said before. All of the things that she said was done out of her “love” so saying she’s not sorry for loving ody is saying to ignore everything she said before “I’m sorry for making YOU feel bad but I’m not sorry for doing it”

I can talk line by line when it cuts to the animatic but its getting late so I’ll just skip to the one that really stuck out to me which was Ody’s “I love you! but not in the way that you want me to…”

At first, it threw me old guard, odysseus, the biggest simp ever, in love with another woman! Impossible! But than the second part really made me think about how close they might have grown in the last 7 years

Even if it wasnt how Calypso wanted it to go and how Ody didn’t always have the best times on that island; Calypso still took care of him and they were each other’s only company for years, they would grow close as friends and it all makes sense put into that perspective

And Calypso hating that she fell in love with ody also makes sense in this perspective, if she didn’t love him the two had the opportunity to become great friends, truly all calypso wanted was company, and she knows that if she had stopped herself she would have had that company in a friend. Maybe the two could’ve gotten along better than they could’ve ever imagined just as friends, and maybe, this departure would be more sad on Odysseus side and less rageful on Calypso’s side.

Also Gigis animatic for it was just ahshajbshshs god, it was so good

Anyway, with all of that said this song can also be seen as emotional manipulation:D depends on how you look at it because it can be seen as Calypso playing the victim to make Odysseus feel bad and stay with her, It was most likely the intention but I tried to give both perspectives on the situation

Song 32: Dangerous

HERMES HAHAHAH OH I LOVE HEREMS SO MUCH!! FAVORITE CHARACTER RIGHT THERE!!

Something I really enjoyed about dangerous is what it brought back from past songs, the wind bag, the 600 men lines coming back but this time without the crew to back it up, instead theres just silence

And then of course Hermes is there too so thats by itself is bringing back Wouldn’t you like.

Troy’s voice is just so intresting to me and scratches my brain in all of the right places

To be honest hearing Troy sing the plan of the part made me let out a sigh of relief because all I could’ve heard until then was the Carl wheezer version and I’ve now been cleansed by Troys amazing voice

The whole Hermes dancing part while Odysseus fought off monsters was definitely a lighter thing to laugh at after Not sorry for loving you, ALSO THE TWERKING??? I CANT JUST NOT TALK ABOUT THAT, so now, the question everyones all been wondering, is Hermes giving the Winions twerking lessons? Because I mean the man flys and got the wind bag so must be relatively close with Aeolus (they match each others energy) and there for the Wininons in relation also they were his backup singers so!!? Twerking lessons

Anyways back to the song; odysseus part is so good, I don’t know what else to say about except for that but I truly do like it I swear!!

The fact that Athena didn’t even seem to cross Odys mind at the end was shocking to me, yes they had their falling out but Athena was the first person he called out to in Love in Paradise

The fact that he thinks he was ignored and pushes aside by her is heart renching, i do hope they have a reconnection in the Ithca saga (Because Athena is not dead, I refuse it Jorge, your video was a Lie, she is not dead, Apollo healed her, she is ok!)

Song 33: Charybdis

I dont have much to say about this one Annalyzing wise so instead I will say that It’s very Catchy and will be stuck in my head for all time.

I love Jorges voice in it chat its so good, It always is but like the Vocals on this one in particular I cant explain it

Also the animation is really cool.

God I dont know why, I knew Get in the water was coming but I really was happy for Odysseus to make it home, I think it’s how he sounded so desperate and so close and I just wanted to give him a hug, the past two somgs kept my mind off of what was to come and it really came to stab me in the back

Song 34: Get in the water

All I can think of is my friend going “Oh no he’s hot!” To poseidon when he arose from the water to start off the song, it was a little bit of light before the storm that was to come

I’ve been meaning to say this for a few of the songs now but Get in the water has such a different feeling and tone than any other song in the musical, normally Jorge brings melodies back but hearing a completely different sound that hadn’t been in the musical earlier almost breaks this invisible rule in place and its nerve racking

It dosent start with the normal boss music but instead its own original thing because this isn’t just a boss, this is the Boss that is the biggest turning point in Odysseus, this time we truly see Odysseus become the monster, a monster that scares not only mortals, but gods and other monsters as well, he will never let anyone defy him again

Poseidon’s threats to raise the tide were so nerve racking, god Steven Rodriguez’s voice is so calm yet so filled with rage at the same time, so steady but so ready to break the dam down, and the way it escalates to where the anger is more ahown but its not quite screaming, not just yet has Posedion reached the peak of his Anger

Odysseus still trying to reason with Poseidon, one of the last times this reasoning part of him will show as he tries to convince Posedion to give up after the 10 years this has been going on for

The reasoning turns into a faint version of ruthlessnesses melody, the melody playing in the background, not only to lead into Poseidons lines from it, but also knowing just how Ruthless both Poseidon and Odysseus are soon to become

Poseidon powering up WAS SO SICK MAN! LIKE OH MY GOD!!! It was absolutely amazing, my mouth dropped when I saw it and it reminded me of circe and her monster yet this isn’t a monster but an extension of poseidon (Who can count as a monster depending on who you ask)

This is where we can see Poseidon reach the peak of his anger where his power is the strongest and his boss move is set in place, the animation, again, absolutely fantastic. The ocean breaking is so satisfying, and yet the entire time I was terrified of it

JORGE STOP BRINGING BACK OPEN ARMS OH MY GOD I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE, I couldn’t tell if they were pulling Odysseus to his death or empowering him, because Polites just put his hand on Odys shoulder, an encouraging powerful gesture. While his mother is dragging him down and down into the sea and Eurylochus is on his arm

It’s the same thing from love in paradise, the memories make him want to die but then he remembers that; they would want him to live on and fight, to not let them die for nothing, and to make it out alive so he could make sure they were all remembered, every 601 of them (or 602 if you count the baby)

But it could have also been that they knew what Odysseus was going to become and wanted him to just rest and let himself go once and for all, Polites looking at him, knowing that Odysseus cant do that, knowing Odysseus would never just leave his wife like that.

Instead of using this new found encouragement and power in his body to reason with Poseidon he becomes a monster to him instead, the monster thats always been within him but just hidden because of him leading with his heart

Song 35: Six Hundred strike

I forgot who the animator was because it’s the next day but it looked so much like a video game and was so impressive, all of the animatics in this one were just absolutely terrifying, with Odysseus red eyes being like him powering up is so interesting to see

Now remember what I said earlier during Dangerous about the crew not backing Odysseus up because they were gone; this song brings them back after Odysseus saw their spirits, like he had remembered and now the voices may not actually be there but in Ody’s head as a form of motivation for the fight

It’s been a while since we’ve heard Odysseus so angry (Because he’s to busy gentle parenting and reasoning with every monster he finds) but now seeing it against poseidon was such a shift and Ody shifted with it.

Just awesome animation and the instrumental in the back is so cool and high stake. “Almost all of whom were slaughtered by your hand!” Sososo good because when it wasn’t Poseidon it his son and the last part of the crew died under Odysseus’s choice but instead of focusing on this he focused on how he only caused 42 deaths (Elpenor i love you but your death was your fault) and how Poseidon caused more that 500 instead.

In that Light it made what Odysseus would do next more reasonable for him, more justified in his mind

The animation turn where all you could see was the red glowing eyes of Odysseus staring at you before he picks up the trident and starts torturing Poseidon.

Old Odysseus after he defeated Poseidon would once again try and reason with him to stop the storm, but this is a new odysseus, a different beast so to say, he no longer cares about the nice way out, Ruthlessness will become far from Merciful if it means he can finally see his family again.

“You didn’t stop when I begged you! Told me to close up my heart!” I am very much obsessed with the lines in this saga they are so good and just so powerful as well in the moments, its an action jammed pack saga because it has to be the entire journey back but it’s done so well.

Hearing an actual god Call odysseus a Monster is different from anything else that might’ve been scared of him before because Gods are all powerful, they don’t have time to fear mortals, But Odysseus is different, more power in just a mortal than they have ever seen before, Odysseus doesn’t have any godly power except for his wit and brute strength to win his battles and thats absolutely terrifying to see how powerful he is with just being a mortal man

“How will you sleep at night?” “Next to my wife.”

GOD, I dont know what to say about this line except for it is absolutely amazing and delivered so well and is just all in all very resinate of what Odysseus’s goal has been since he started this journey

This saga was all in all very cool! It’s not up in my top 3 but its very very close

So starting from chapter 21 when grian died, oh my goddd

I was convinced that Scar would die first and grian would give in to his suicidal thoughs from when he was on the sand cliff

Then after scar and grian make it out of a horde infested store alive. The worst happens

"He'd grown complacent, and now scar was suffering for the consequences of it."

A quote that sadly summarizes a large percentage of the fic

"He knows the blood seeping from his shoulder hasn't come from a gunshot."

"'I love you,' he adds, and it feels so easy to say now that he wonders why he ever struggled with it before."

It's oddly poetic how in his effort to help and aid scar he had to leave him behind. I took his own death for him to admit to him faults, for him to help scar, for him to say he loves scar, and it feels like I'm supposed to forgive grian, BUT HE STILL HASNT APOLOGIZED! he barely acknowledged his cheating.

It's very purposeful that I drew him dying in the desert instead of the woods.

I do wonder if the trio could every stumble upon him while they explore ghost towns

22 FUCKING SCHLAT?! I understand that this schlat is not even all that close to the one I know and love from dsmp! Era, but still. Schlat?!?! I have never watched his day z streams nor another zombie content from any dsmp people (mainly ref Tommy's and Charlie's vids) so I have no clue who Aubry, Mosin man, Paul, or any other people from that reference so to me they end up coming off as oocs but they have clear intentions and I love how they give scar his turn to use his salesman voice. Anywayyy

Okay so just today the situation has reached its peak so a few hours ago Nondi has worsened this whole mess by making a follow-up response to not only Jouusta but to her critics AND her fans as a WHOLE and let's just say it's probably WORSE than her first response

How did she Respond? Did she apologize? Is she taking a break? Did she realize her mistake?

Well.....

Okay I'm not gonna hold back

Nondi This is the Most NASTIEST, IMMATURE, RUDEST, DISRESPECTFUL Thing that I have Ever Seen! Where do I even start?? Lets start with the fact that whole Animatic low-key ridiculous not only is the whole thing lowkey disrespectful to EVERYONE involved with the portrayal of Jo, Her Critics, HER FANS. But this video is anything BUT respectful! She went silent for almost 5 to 10 days after her Livestream only to make an EVEN worse response not only that but the fact That now she's trying to turn the whole thing into a race issue when race was NEVER even mentioned by Jo or anyone EXCEPT Nondi! Nondi was the ONLY one who said anything about her skintone but now I'm starting to realize something

At this point this isn't even about the AI anymore Nondi is just being a straight-up bully and slandering Everyone involved specifically Jo painting her in a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE Light(whilst now Nondi fans are also now sending Jo hate comments and a few were DEATH THREATS)

Not only that but in the description to her animatic not only is she "Not sorry" she made a lengthy doc(and yes I read every single word) where she fails to take accountability and passes blame onto the critics and Jo and making excuses for her behavior and adding extra things that are half-true, not relevant to the situation, gaslighting fans, and downright lies of which she claims is the "truth"

She’s entitled to her opinion about AI as much as I am entitled to mine. I may go here or on my insta to say a few more things regarding this situation if anything else happens, but I’m not going to make any more video content because I don’t want to egg on the people that have been relentlessly harassing Nondi because of my video. Genuinely, I feel awful about that. If you have anything to say about this discourse, keep it on MY video and off of her twitter/ Youtube page. She’s seen all the arguments, criticism, and nasty shit that’s out there. I may have criticized her for blocking certain users in my video, but at this point I think that course of action is 100% justified. If I had known this video was going to be shown to over 200,000 people in less than 48 hours, I would have been a lot more clear and less reactive with how I expressed things in this video. I’ve never had a video perform like this one did.. like, genuinely, I thought this would be watched by the people already in this discourse and MAYBE just a few others. It was not my intention to bring so many new eyes to her channel, especially in this light, but that’s what happened. As for the transphobia claims, she says it was an accident and will not repeat this mistake going forward. She hasn’t apologized for misgendering the creator, which I absolutely disagree with, but she’s made it clear she doesn’t stand by what she originally did. I am 100% on Jo's side of the drama

Jo said that nondi was entitled to her opinion and was not calling her bad in ANY WAY Jo was rightfully upset about how nondi portrayed her in the Livestream(she hasn't seen the Animatic yet) and for some reason nondi and her die-hards decided to attack her when Jo just made a harmless statement and even said not to harass anyone at the VERY beginning of her video plus she Cannot be blamed for who saw the video she is not in control of what the algorithm shows us as she said that her intended target for the video were people who WERE actually aware of the situation WITH the exception of a FEW new eyes NOT 200,000(now 400,000) new eyes and she did apologize for that and I do agree if people did not watch Nondi's ai stance video and then Jo's video(even though jo DID say to watch Nondi's video first to get the full context)

(Note: I watched Nondi's full ai stance video before Jo uploaded hers) and just saw Jo's video(depending on how much you watched of Jo's video) and just relentlessly attacked nondi are also in just as much of the wrong telling her to "Kys" is not helpful and making her more stubborn and while I don't agree with her deleting comments that DO know the full story those critiquing her with no context are 100% justified beacuse context is EVERYTHING however Nondi's reactions and responses are NOT justified whatsoever she is a GROWN ASS WOMAN who knew DAMN WELL what's she's doing especially when she went live with that slander video, Twitter posts and even TODAY'S video and the fact that people are still defending what she's done are also the problem she is not the victim she is the perpetrator and when other people did what she's done now they were called crazy, were ridiculed or nearly lost or DID their careers entirely)

The last time a rapper(Doja Cat) made a post disrespecting her fans the same way nondi did she lost almost 200,000 followers

When this rapper(Nicki Minaj) went on a whole Twitter rampage and a crazy rant on IG live beacuse of Hiss (by Meg Thee Stallion)(in this case Nondi went on A coke rant on YT live)she was called a fucking cokehead

When this youtuber(Colleen Ballinger) made a video pinning blame on the internet for banding together, calling her out on her predatory behavior and made a ukulele musical as a response(in Nondi's a fucking snl skit) her response was seen as the worst youtuber apology/statement videos to date

(Note: this is not an attack on Nicki, Doja nor Meg as I love and respect all 3 of these artists however I can't say the same thing for Colleen as she is a terrible human being)

And while people are saying "omg the art community is so sensitive" and you know what? You're right the art community can get sensitive over everything and anything but that that's not the case people are rightfully upset at nondi she montitezed her ai Playlist Made by a company who's under fire for stealing unauthorized audio and using it but now she's attacking fans and critics who were trying to tell here what she was doing was WRONG

AI is a dangerous practice and a very controversial topic that is threatening not only art but jobs in general if ai was not being trained on stolen work and being seen as a replacement then maybe I would have a different opinion the problem is its not being seen as a tool but as a REPLACEMENT for human artists whist stealing art from them and creating entirely new images for the stolen work and people keep Making excuses for ai if "get with the times" mean I have to just let ai steal my work then I rather be left behind

The order is the 1st one, the 4th one, the 3rd one, the 5th one, the 2nd one, the 8th one, the 7th one, and then the 6th one from oldest to newest. Couldn't figure out how to put it in order sooo. :/

I love looking back at old art and just seeing how far I've come. Sometimes I feel like I just suck at art and that I'll never improve or be how I want to be, but then I look back and realize I'm just being stupid. I already improved such a significant amount from when I first started. Why can't I improve now?

When it comes to art, people like to put limits on themselves, but honestly, there are no limits with art. It's something almost anyone can do. I say almost because the only people who literally can't make visual art are people paralyzed from the neck down or dead people. I've seen blind people make art. I've seen people with no arms make art. I've seen people who are blind and have no arms make art. Ok, that's not true, but I'm sure a blind and armless artist exists somewhere.

You will never be your best at art because with every drawing, you improve. To you, it may look ugly today, but in a year, it'll be so much better. This post isn't a very good example because I lack consistensy in my style, and so it looks worse sometimes, but still.

Also, can you tell that I like Chuuya and Dazai? I tried drawing Atsushi and Aktugawa once but um. I didn't finish that. Oh but, I also tried making a Lucy x Atsushi animatic if that counts. I didn't finish that either.

OH YOU HAVE OPENED A CAN OF WORMS YOU CANNOT PUT BACK-

So, it's a comedy podcast of three brothers and their father who all have no idea how to play D&D at the start. It starts off slow, so sadly, if you do not like their sense of humor (all it really has at the very beginning) then you may not be able to stick it through. BUT OH MAN IS IT WORTH IT-

I think this quote fits the story the best: "The Adventure Zone Balance: the story of four idiots who played D&D so hard they made themselves cry." — Justin McElroy

It has one of the biggest plot twists I have ever seen, and the amount of work and effort put into foreshadowing it without giving it away is INSANE- like you go back to the very first few episodes and there are already little hints sprinkled in.

Even crazier is that Griffin (the DM) DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE STORY PLANNED OUT YET- he didn't have the whole story planned out until around halfway through the podcast!

The ending is so heartfelt and the way Griffin can make you feel things is just- UGH-

RWBY Volume 9 "Epilogue" Thoughts

So, here it comes an extra volume 9 animatic "epilogue" and I wanted to share some thoughts and a brief analysis.

General Thoughts

I really really liked it!

I am happy the Atlas refugees are having problems to adapt and that the Schnee Family has to face their privilege head on

It not being included in volume 9 works better for me because its contents can easily be re-arranged at the beginning of volume 10. In my opinion the story flows better this way (only my 2 cents though)

I am neutral to Raven's appearance.

On the one hand I hope the conflict between her and Yang is not solved too easily (I also think Yang hiding the Spring Maiden identity should be addressed). On the other hand her appearing at the beginning of the new story arc solves several things. She can make progress early on, so that the focus can then be given to other characters. Moreover, she can reveal what happened between her and Summer. If this mystery is solved, then there is more time to focus on Summer's return (either as a Grimm, a human or in some kind of symbolic way). In short, it can all lead to very thight writing, so I approve.

As for people wondering if the story was changed since RWBYJ leave the Ever After on their own... we can't say, but personally I never felt Raven saving them from the Ever After really worked thematically and I don't think it is what the epilogue implies. After all, before the video they say they deleted some scenes which tie with volume 10 plot. I think RWBYJ's meeting with Raven is one of these. Nonetheless, I am happy if we get our "Spring leading to Summer" symbolism. (Which really works on multiple levels doesn't it?)

In any case, I think Raven simply senses Yang is back and goes to meet her. Then she leads them all to Qrow. This in itself is a significant improvement for her. Still, it makes sense if Raven thought Yang was really dead. It can work as a final callout and a consequence of her actions. Yang outright asks Raven to choose between herself and her daughter and Raven makes the selfish choice. As a result, Yang dies. It is no surprise then that Yang coming back is seen by Raven as a final chance to do the right thing.

Speaking of people dealing with grief and loss, here we come to the heart of the new content and the focus of this short analysis.

Winter and Qrow - Grief

So, the heart of the video is really the foiling between Winter and Qrow. This is interesting in itself because these 2 characters are tied together since their first appearance in volume 3:

Qrow is Ruby's mentor

Winter is Weiss's mentor

Both girls look up to them and try to imitate them. Still, this changes with time as both Ruby and Weiss grow until they are able to inspire Qrow and Winter back.

Here, we see exactly this, as both Winter and Qrow talk to the two girls in their minds (Qrow is talking to all of them, but the foiling is between Weiss and Ruby and thematically the focus is on Ruby anyway). Still, their thoughts are complete opposites.

On the one hand Winter focuses only on the problems and sees no beauty at all.

Winter: "But no amount of determination or hard work will change where we find ourselves now. What do you do when there is no hope left?"

On the other hand Qrow is conscious things are bad, but is full of hope.

Qrow: Call me crazy, but I am actually feeling a little optimistic about things. I figure... Don't get me wrong...It's bad. In fact it'd never been worse. And yet, you can still see the goodness in all things. Acts of kindness, people trying to atone for past wrongs.

This ties to their 2 different ways of mourning.

Winter: "You and your friends did all you could to save the world. You would be so disappointed in us. Maybe it's for the best you don't have to see this Weiss" > She is looking at the memorial monument, where it's written "Don't come back"

Qrow: "Things may be bad, but my biggest regret is that none of you are here to see the good that you started because you did start something." > He cries while looking at a picture of Ruby that says "Remember her message"

Winter thinks it is best that Weiss isn't there to see that everything was useless. Qrow instead wishes the kids were there to see that the world is changing. These behaviours aren't limited to Winter and Qrow's feelings over the protagonists, but they fit their reaction to another important loss they both faced:

Penny and Clover's deaths have similar roles in Winter and Qrow's stories, as they are supposed to integrate with their lost loved ones. This is conveyed also through their respective powers:

Winter inherits the Winter Maiden's power by Penny and Qrow's semblance evolves to become similar to Clover's. This shows Qrow has successfully integrated Clover's mentality into his own:

Qrow: Like an oasis in a desert, it's all a matter of perspective. You see, an old friend taught me that.

The same can't be said about Winter:

Penny: "I won't be gone, I'll be part of you."

Winter: "Because of me, Penny is gone. Forever."

As Penny herself states in her final goodbye, she isn't really "gone", as her legacy lives up in Winter. This means Winter should honor her will and adopt Penny's optimistic mindset. Still, Winter is doing the opposite. This is why she feels Penny is really gone forever.

In other words, Winter has understood rationally what a real Maiden should be like:

Winter: No, Penny. You were always the real Maiden at heart.

However, she still doesn't feel it in her heart. This is why probably she needs Weiss to finish her arc:

After all, Weiss is supposed to be Winter's second Gerda, which takes out the final cursed glass fragment from Winter's heart.

Qrow is instead close to the end of his arc, in my opinion. As a matter of fact he has already been inspired by Ruby:

I think he only needs a top off, which will probably come with a final showdown with Tyrian, which will not be about revenge, but rather to save someone (probably Mercury).

What's important is that these 2 characters explore the theme of grief in opposite ways.

Ruby: I… I thought this was lost forever. How’d you have it? Blacksmith: Nothing. No one is ever truly lost.

Qrow understands the meaning of the Blacksmith's words, whereas Winter doesn't. The Blacksmith conveys to Ruby that all the people she lost are still parts of her. This is why she keeps finding Penny's sword over and over. It is because the hope Ruby saw in Penny is really just a part of Ruby herself:

Jinxy: Enough hope to fill this jar.

Ruby fights a Nevermore (grief) by using Penny's sword (hope).

Similarly, Qrow's sense of belonging and his wish to do good don't go away with Clover's death. If anything they are parts of Qrow that Clover made emerge. Thanks to the Lucky Fisherman, Qrow has now the right framework to show them to the world.

Winter too has in herself the heart to be a Maiden like Penny. She too has one of Penny's swords inside. She is just not looking at it out of self-hate and guilt. Luckily she is now surrounded by people who love her and they will hopefully help her take a closer look at the mirror.

Currently working on my very first attempt to animate anything, ever. Apparently I’m a glutton for punishment. Don’t ask me why my version of taking a break from making my creeps comic series is to draw a bunch of other shit instead. This is how my brain works, don’t try to understand it. I don’t even understand it. On side note, I’ll probably officially start drawing the next comic tomorrow, this animation is more than likely not coming out before the next creeps comic. In fact, it may not even come out if I fuck it up. I wanted to show the first frame I drew at the very least. I will color it and show you, even if this animatic doesn’t turn out.

The song playing in the intro and outro is Dianthus Nardiformis from the Dreaming Mary OST.

19: March 2021. Okay so this one's not actually a work in progress. I made this on my 19th birthday, the joke being that the singer just says 19 then it ends. I think I thought it was kinda dumb so I didn't end up actually posting it. Also features a sona I had before Cress that I never really got attached to, so she was barely used. Song is 19 by Old 97's.

Lonely Holiday: July 2021. This has the honor of being the first OMORI mv I ever attempted. I started this on a whim while bored out of my mind dogsitting for a couple weeks, and I kinda just lost interest in it. Dunno if I'll go back to it. Song is Lonely Holiday by Old 97's.

Numb: July 2021. Another one I started while dogsitting, and another one I kinda just lost interest in, but I absolutely want to revisit it someday because it's an idea I've had for a while and still really want to do. Song is Numb (Linkin Park Cover) by Robyn Adele Anderson.

The Artist: December 2021. I stopped working on this one because doing everything manually frame-by-frame got really annoying and I started to hate working on it. I dunno why I did the zoom in manually but it looks bad, lol. The entire MV would have been just this verse of the song because I thought it really fit Basil and Omori. Tbh I still like how this looks and I may come back to it. Song is The Artist by The Hush Sound.

Higher: February 2022. It's the animation meme. I actually posted this wip a while ago but I'm still gonna include it here for completion's sake. This was really just storyboard practice, so I don't have much of an interest in completing it beyond this. It's Omori Strikers AU (my omori x persona 5 crossover au) and it's basically about Omori's identity issues due to being Sunny's Shadow. The quality's really bad on this one, for some reason iMovie refused to export it in a higher quality than this, I don't know why. Song is High by SIVIK.

Little Sunbeam: February 2022. This MV would have centered on the omari au, and beyond this it'd switch to Mari's pov and take on different palettes. Doing that text effect made working on this very annoying and would make my art program lag a lot so I lost interest in working on it. I might revisit this one, though I'd have to rework the original idea I had now that my perception on the common omari au has changed lol. Song is Little Sunbeam by Eleisha Eagle.

Nightmarish: April 2022. This MV would technically be a remake of one I made in 2020. Same song, same color palette, but with a completely new media. Part of wanting to work on this is wanting to spread Dreaming Mary propaganda cause I love it and I think people who like OMORI will like Dreaming Mary as well. Also I love this song. I definitely wanna go back to this one at some point. Song is Nightmarish from the Dreaming Mary OST.

Keep You Safe: July 2022. Like Higher I also posted this wip before but will still include it here. I absolutely want to go back to this one someday because I still really like the idea I have for it. Fun fact, for those who remember this piece, that was based on this MV, but it's not like you can tell based on what's shown here. Song is Keep You Safe by The Crane Wives.

Four Walls: August 2022. Amnesiac Omori MV, what would have been his youtube introduction if I hadn't stopped working on it and then made When Am I Gonna Lose You. I think I kinda just lost interest in this one, though I wanna go back to it at some point I think. Song is Four Walls (The Ballad of Perry Smith) by Bastille.

Someone Gets Hurt: January 2023. Amnesiac omori again babey!! Animatic that would have taken place after he regains his memories, where he's basically really angry and lashes out at Sunny and Stranger. Might revisit this one. Song is Someone Gets Hurt (Reprise) from the Mean Girls musical.

Uhh some shitpost: February 2023. Silly thing, it's a shame I stopped working on it before it actually got to the main funny part. I dunno if I'll go back to this one. Audio from @/tylergaca on twitter.

Jealous: March 2023. Animation meme. It would've been about Sunny and Mari in my pmd au and the leadup to the incident. It took me a while to get that second shot right and I still really don't like it. Do wanna revisit this one cause I love angst surrounding these two so much I love them in pmd au GRAHHH. Song is Jealous by Eyedress (slowed down).

Stranger lipsync test: May 2023. This was way too difficult as a lipsync test so I gave up on it, though I still like the animation for it. Also this is a pretty good contender for headcanon voice for Stranger I'll be real. Audio is from Persona 5 Royal.

Propaganda: August 2023. Amnesiac omori au storyboard that I do actually wanna make into a completed thing. This is very spoilery so my master plan is to not explain what's happening. Muah hah hah >:3c. Also once again iMovie exported this in a really bad quality for some reason. Song is Propaganda by Kill J.

Alter's Rant: December 2023. One more amnesiac omori animatic for the road. Once again it's really spoilery but it's basically Alter and Omori's final confrontation. I have more done than what's shown here but I wanna keep it a surprise for when I finish it, which should hopefully be soon >:3c. Also this one also got hit by iMovie's low quality curse. The Michie Playlist

Happy Valenties Yall. You may have seen my post about making a Michie Playlist. This is my review of songs already on it, originating from @wildrottingworms michie playlist. Barring Granger Danger (because they told me to) and adding another song, because it fits with another.

Nerdy Prudes Must Die: This is, for me, just on there for the sake that it is literally the song they share. That is the only reason it's on here. Also why it's the first song on here.

Take Me Back: This, however, I have no idea why it's on here! Nevermind, secret relationship michie; I'm an idiot. Okay, yeah, I think I can see it. Especially with them having regrets about keeping it a secret. Like, I'm listening to Tom's verse right now and it's like "oh, Max,, maybe you should've just openly loved Richie back thennn." Becky's verse now, okay. I see it a little less. I like the idea of 'i remember something someone asked me back in school,' being Max saying something like "if we could, would you go to prom with me," because of the following line; I think that's cute. Weirdly enough, I think this'll stay.

First Date/Last Night: Yes, I love this for them. Very cute, very nice. Derek Klena's character for max; perfect.

Blast From the Past: So, uh. I skipped this at first. Because I did not like it. This is the last song of these I've listened to because I am/was putting it off. But here we go i guess. Okay, it's not that bad. It kind of reminds me of Will Wood. But it also makes me realise that the musical Zombie Prom isn't the same as the Wizards of Waverly Place Episode, it seems to be about a single zombie who goes to prom. Which I guess makes sense. I'm keeping it, but it's like. That's all I got from it mostly.

Stupid With Love: So I technically added it, because the reprise was on it, I think it's a little silly to have on here, because I don't think Cady is much like Richie, but I think I'm keeping it for purely after (s)he meets Aron. Like, I've literally put that quote where Cady is essentially fantasising about him in tags about Richie and Max; feels wrong to not include it.

Stupid With Love Reprise: So, listening to it makes me nervous because I haven't actually watched all o Mean Girls the Musical, but it's fine. We're gonna do it anyway. Oh, wait, there's a BMC animatic of this, I've seen this, I'm stupid. Okay. I see why the og put it on here. It is very cute, I love it. I don't know enough about factorials to know if that's actually what you're supposed to do with them, and if it's not then it's hilarious. If it is, then it's like... well, I guess PJ did a good job tutoring Max.

Be Nice To Me: I like this song generally speaking, I never thought of it for Max and Richie, but I'm kind of into it. Like, I might do song fics with some of the songs from this playlist, and this is definitely a high high contender.

Two Birds: Thanks og, you mother fucker. I'm sad now. Luckily, I've already thought of them during this song so I can just skip it.... unluckily, it's already started playing and I can't turn it off now. Thems the rules.

Sex with a Ghost: I don't know why this is on there. It's obviously more of a Jagertity song, but I'm still going to listen to it with their context to see if I can figure it out. Okay, listening. I don't get it. I'll probably keep it because it fucking slaps, but i do not understand why it's on a michie playlist. The only thing I could see is like. 'The only time I ever see her is when she's behind me in the mirror," Because Richie dies in the locker room. But I dunno.

Daft Pretty Boys: I've never heard this song before, so. Right off the bat though, I'm dissapointed that it's not gay. The title makes it sound so gay, but immediately with the she/her pronouns. Maybe I should pull up the Genius Analysis so I can understand better, because I'm just confused. Okay, after checking Genius, I think I understand. I will be keeping it.

Beachboy: Another song I've listened to before, I'm excited to listen to it under Michie context. Like, I could type the lyrics along if I wanted to, I love this song. Yes, this is amazing. Aside from the fact that it's, again, straight, it's absolutely great.

Bloom: We begin the ones where I'm going to have to look up the english translations to these songs. Which I'm fine with, I've listened to all the BSD character songs. It's actually pretty fun to follow along, which is why I'm linking english translations through te name titles, which is why some of the have underlines and others don't. Anyway. HEY SORRY TO BUT IN! APPARENTLY THIS WAS IN SCOTT PILGRIM TAKES OFF! I LOVE SCOTT PILGRIM! ANYWAY BACK TO IT! Okay, upon reading the lyrics, I will say, it makes perfect sense that it was written for Scott Pilgrim, also that I rememer hearing it and taking note of what it was called because I liked it. Basically, on a surface level, it's like 'id like you no matter how many times you change your hair' but I think beneath that, as an overthinker, it's about loving someone even as they're going through changes in their life.

Necromantic: As much as it hurts to face the reality, I am glad that there are some songs on here that represent a realistic relationship for them, and this is definitely one of them. I think I would do a poor job on describing it, just look up the lyrics, you'll see.

Sihouette: Okay, reading the lyrics was a little harder bc I'm listening at home, and my family just got back home from Astronomy Club, so just bare with me. I think it's good, I think we'll be keeping it; I like it I think.

Kuchizuke Diamond: Oh I immediately love the vibes of this. I like this song so much for them that I didn't follow along with the lyrics, I read ahead; I love this. It's so cute for them.

Kawaikute gomen: I'm back and forth whether this applies to them, but it's funny enough that I don't even care. Like Stupid With Love and such. I definitely feel it for them, I just can't explain why.

i'll answer your question about planning expressions and interactions below, bc i have a lot to say about that:

when planning for expressions and interactions, i'm usually trying to answer a couple of these things:

what moment do i want to highlight

why is this moment significant

how do these characters feel in the moment, how to they react to each other, what's their motivations

what body language best answers the question above ^

basically, i'm asking myself "what's the scene?" -> "what do the characters feel in that moment?" -> "how do they act this out to convey that?" (that's how i was taught to read scripts for plays. you must understand character motivations before you figure out how to act their feelings out)

it's very important to have a good balance of body language and dialogue to convey the mood if/when appropriate, since sometimes strictly relying on dialogue to sell the moment w/o body lang or vice versa can tank the execution

i assume that you're more interested in how i planned the interactions for them sharing music? lmk if there's like specific ones, bc i can explain more for whatever else it may be

anyways, i start off with scripts of some kind. my scripts can be very barebones that just note a specific scene (i.e. "working at desk, listen to music together before class starts"), or that i build a moment based on a piece of dialogue (i.e. "better not queue anything lame"). here's the notes i made when i made the 8:00 animatic, since thats big on body language

i wanted to get down my main ideas first, which was figuring out the the lyrics i wanted to use paired with dialogue to match. i dont show my thinking much on some of my notes, but what i was getting at this:

story moment: dk connecting the context of the song to his intimate moment with bkg

key moments: waking up, playing with hands, eye contact w/ bkg

i didn't expand on the ideas for how those moments would look until i actually started thumbnailing for the animatic, which i showed briefly here. here's what i kept in mind for their expressions/interactions:

dk shies away from directly confronting bkg outwardly expressing his feelings for him via the song. he avoids it and changes the topic verbally to make the conversation lighthearted -> "what expresses avoidance?"

bkg is direct about his feelings, his actions and expressions must convey a direct confrontation, an attempt to make dk acknowledge how he feels about him thru the song and potentially get a response from him -> "what expresses straightforwardness?"

here's what i decided would visually answer those questions

the implications of character's expressions also factors in the circumstances of their situation. without the context, the execution tends to fall flat. if you didn't know that they were listening to a song that's all about romantic pining, then you probably would've been questioning why the fuck are they just staring at each other, or assumed that one is shy of the physical interaction when that's not the point; its the dawned realization and the acknowledgement of the other's feelings.

my other drawings for that thread followed the same kind of planning tbh, lol. all those drawings had the lyrics set the stage for how the characters are feeling, and i'd have to figure out what about their facial expressions and body language best matches the context of the situation. here's this brief example:

but yeah, that's generally how i plan for expressions/interactions. sometimes i just get a rush of interaction ideas that is centered on one specific question i want to explore, like:

what do their mundane parts of life look like?

how do they physically react to realizing their feelings for the other?

how is someone anxious about the other person's perception of them in the comic i'm drawing?

Introduction

Hello all, I hope you are all well! Welcome to my Tubmlr blog where I share updates and ramble on about behind the scenes content related to my web-series One of the Powerful!

Now "what is One of the Powerful" you may ask? For those who don’t know, OotP is an upcoming indie semi-animated web series on YouTube!

One of the Powerful is about a world divided in two, between Powerful (who are beings with magical abilities) and Powerless (ones who possess no magic) due to a war many years ago. As a compromise to stop most of the conflict, the leaders of Powerless and Powerful decided to have their own territories.

The series follows Erin Indipend, being a Powerful raised in Powerless Territory, Erin had to supress their magic for most of their life, due to the fear of being found out. Those Powerful who are unfortunate enough to be discovered in Powerless Territory are taken away never to be seen again, what truly happens to them or who is behind this, is all unknown to the public eye. Erin eventually saves up to move away to Seaside in Powerful Territory with their friend Cassidy, who’s in a similar boat to them, for a new start, for things to be better. However, is their new life in Powerful Territory really as great as Erin thinks it will be, or is everything not as it meets the eye.

This synopsis is really just the tip of the iceberg, there is a lot I have planned for the series that I am super excited to share!

I have been developing OotP since 2020 (4 years already!!) being inspired by the many things I loved growing up - originally it was going to be a comic, however I kinda struggled with motivation as animation is more of my cup of tea, so I decided to develop this story into a semi-animated series (”semi-animated” meaning that the series will be an animatic with some animated segments due to currently being a one man animation team). And due to that, episodes may take quite a while to make, so I decided to create a blog to share what goes on behind the scenes in between the wait for episodes!!

Since this is my first post, why not introduce myself! I’m Ray, an 18 year old aspiring animator from Scotland - I love anime, video games, rock music and coffee!!

Ever since I was a little kid, I LOVED learning how things worked, I remember opening up any electronic toy I had, trying to figure out how they functioned. XD At Primary School, I saw some of my friends were into My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which I then got into myself, and adored. I vividly remember looking at behind the scenes content on YouTube of the show, and since I loved seeing how things worked, I was fascinated by seeing the process of how cartoons were made and how much went into them!

I remember being very artistic as a kid, and was always creating something! XD However, I never got into animation properly until 2022, I had tried it a few times in the past, but never got very far due to being intimidated with how time consuming it all was XD - until late 2021 when I got re-introduced to the medium by making a video project for a class I took in High School. The remainder of that year I was making a few animatics here and there and I found it really fun!! Then for a final project in the same class, I wanted to create an animated episode of my series, and creating its opening back then was really memorable for me, I had so much fun animating it! And even though I ended up scrapping the project in the end, I kept on making Oc animations in my spare time and here I am nearly two years later basically went around full circle!! It is my dream to someday become a professional animator and help create shows and movies, so OotP is great practice for that!

It's time for the very rare, not even yearly text post!

I feel like each time I go to make a personal post I include this little note about how it's sooo rare for me to talk, and how I'll try to talk more in the future, then I never do orz. Maybe it'll finally change, but we'll see! I just wanted to thank everyone who has been engaging with my stuff. I'll sometimes get a notification for something really old and it's like a positive jump scare. In the past couple of months I've tried to experiment more with the concept of "making my art weirder", doing more stuff with colors, etc. Returning to danganronpa (especially Miya) has been fun and I didn't think she was someone I'd ever seriously come back to (mostly because of the discourse). However, all the positive responses to my art of her has been a huge motivator!!! If it's not super obvious already, Twisted Wonderland grabbed me by the throat and that's another thing where all the sweet engagement has made me so happy. I actually plan on making a sideblog dedicated to that, but I'll probably still post all my art for it here first. Moving on, I kind of realized I never posted it about here but I've more or less quit Xenoblade for the time being. I've got a few outstanding commissions for it that I may post on here, but after that it'll probably be a while until I want to revisit it again. If you've been following my art for that, thanks so much. To wrap this up, I'm going to try super hard to get at least one or two pieces out for Blacktober but I'm really swamped with all sorts of things atm. I've also decided to record some speedpaints and I've started work on new animatics so those will hopefully be out soon...

Sup, I'm the same anon who talked about how Kaguya sama openings being connected to Daigo ships is possible. I saw that you would love to see my thought process on how I came up with that and ngl, I'm dying to to share it anyone so here it is lol.

I'm not proud to say it, but ngl this has been on my mind for atleast a year now 😅🤣. It started when I revisited Kiwami 2 which is also the time I became a fan of the show or fan of the opening to be more precise. I tend to watch anime that I'm not familiar with if it has very good opening songs. (Death Parade tricked me with its opening, and I love it. Ya boy Koming, that one has a banger op and a great show.) I usually watch anime that I already heard of or know because of the manga. Very good fan animations also gets me to watch the anime. Anyways, back to what I was getting at.

RyuDai with op 1. First the visuals, allthroughout the opening we see the main characters pointing weapons at one another, which emphasizes the war in "love is war". This just reminds me of how Ryuji and Daigo are at war in a way, whether it is due to personal or clan affairs. The weapon of choice also got my attention. We've seen Ryuji with a sword and Daigo with a gun so this works since in the op1 Miyuki and Kaguya are pointing their respective weapons at one another, just replace that with RyuDai The lyrics pretty much works well, like too well imo if you look at it with this ship in mind. Depending on how you translated the lyrics, it can even become more suited for this ship. In addition, the whole vibe of the song screams tension to me. The translated lyrics " this game were playing Are you aware that this is one where no one wins" And "I don't need a fairytale ending Cause happy ever after ending only exists in movies" Connects well to this ship cause frankly this is not a lovey dovey relationship that will end up good, especially with how the canon story went, but plays to the theme of yeah despite the what tragedy it may/ have turned to, there is/was love in there. "You and I are playing a dangerous game" Is it talking about something spicy or the fact that they are technically from the rival clan of one another? Both can work. Have you read the fanfic "Circling Dragons" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/25474858?page=5&show_comments=true&view_full_work=true )? 'Cause, oh boy, that really is what pushed me to go, "Yeah, Love Dramatic can be its theme song"🤓🤣. Like seriously though, whenever I hear the song, the visuals in my head mainly comes from this fic. Bruh, I'm losing my mind. Anyway, in addition to all of this is Daigo and Ryuji themselves. I feel like if they believe in something they will do it no matter how dangerous it could be. They also both have pride/stubborn and I don't see one of submitting to the other, though at the same time both of them can show care, which connects to the premise of the show as well. I'm probably talking out my ass at this point but keyword in my last message is "probably" so ehh.... The "I can't decide" animatic on youtube by uhh... "北极光" (I can't read this but that's their channel. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/B4a3fJS1aXc ) also helped fan the flames for my imagination to go wild. I actually connected the bridge and the last chorus of Love Dramatic with the last two to three chapters of "Circling Dragons", it just fits imo. I won't explain cause I might spoil people who haven't read it.

With that, I went from, "This is a silly idea😂, I wonder if this could work?🤔" to "Okay how about the other openings?🤔😃💡 How can I connect it to other Daigo ships?" and this spiralled out of my control.

ShinaDai with op 2. You might ask, how did I came to this conclusion that it can work since they're not really at war at all or didn't interact that much. First and foremost, I just wanted to say that fics that I've read also helped in creating this connection to my mind. This also applies to other ships I love. Anyways back to ShinaDai. Let's start the visuals, I admit there's not much connection, but boy, if you changed the first fifteen seconds of the opening, where Kaguya is using the bow, with Shinada or Daigo using a bat and instead of a sudden shield it is them catching the ball, it works. It can allude to the fact that they are the target of their affection like how it is as well to Kaguya and Miyuki. The school setting also helps since that's usually where their (Daigo primarily but Shinada also if you want) love ✨blossomed✨🤣 for the other. Another connection I see is with the vibes of the song, the songs is a bit more playful, but earnest and wholesome, which I think fits Shinada. The song is also like alluding to love making or driving them crazy, which I think fits Daigo's whole thing, sort of... 'cause bro, beating the other school's students for a baseball game which ultimately led to you being expelled is crazy. I graduated as a Valedictorian in highschool so this fact is like so much more crazy to me. Like I get that Daigo doesn't feel like he has a dream (hehehe "Yume") of his own, cause I was the same, but being top of your class opens up more opportunities in the future. I was content with follwing my parents' careers but I eventually got my own goal/dream (hehehe "Yume"). In addition, the baseball plot being connected to Omi and Tojo business is fine and all but seriously though first impression I got after finishing that chapter was that Daigo went there cause he wanted help Shinada and that he knew him when they were in highschool, that's crazy and ridiculous but I love it XD🤣. Another thing I would like to connect is the fact that shinada could've just stayed but he still sent out of his way to help the other protags like bruh you're a civvie joining in to a yakuza business. I know Akiyama is there but he's there because of Haruka and Kiryu. I say he has more connection to the main plot cause he's there with Haruka. Okay, let's come back to how ShinaDai works with op 2. The translated lyrics "Throw my heart to the flames" Fits them cause boy you're getting close to the danger or harm's way just because of someone. Have you read the fanfic "Mob" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/30643031?page=2&show_comments=true&view_adult=true&view_full_work=true ) or "Immovable" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/15002513?page=3&show_comments=true&view_full_work=true ) ? Cause some parts of that fics, as well as other fics, sparked my imagination on how I could connect this to the opening. I also found a connection with the lyrics in the bridge of the song "Suddenly I'm falling, into a great unknown A while new world before me, But I'm not alone" It fits with the whole thing where Shinada really doesn't know anything about the Yakuza world, but he knows he'll be fine since Daigo is with him, that is if that's part of your headcanon on how this ship end up.

MineDai with op 3. I love this ship and ngl when I heard season 3 for kaguya sama is coming, one of my wish was for the op 3 to work for this ship. Insane I know. Imagine my joy when it did lol. RGGO I love you cause man, whenever I hear this song, the Mine sotries from that game comes to mind. I love games like that (RIP Naruto Blazing I love that game 'cause collecting all those characters is amazing. The art is cool and I can see some ninjistsu that was only mentioned but was never animated in the anime. I'm a free to play so no, I'm not spending my money on games like this) please tranlsate it rgg even the stories only, please. Anyway back to how MineDai fits with GIRI GIRI. The lyrics imo, is in Mine's perspective and I know I'm right. The song is all about wanting to get close, wanting to get to know them, wanting for this love that they feel to be true and I guess reciprocated. Mine is like this in his rggo stories he has some dialouge where he says something along the lines of he wanted to know more about Daigo, heck one of his mission (sort of) is to get the attention of Daigo just to see for himself what kind of Daigo is, wondering if Daigo is being true in his intention of being friendly. That sort of stuff. The lyrics "Your love, your love, Your love, just confess it to me" Fits if we want to look at Daigo egging on Mine or being "haha unless...". I feel like this fits cause in the stories from fanfic or rggo, Daigo is trying to reassure and get Mine to relax, you know just be friendly with him. Him flirting subtly to Mine works, but alas Mine seems to be too... professional, but it was nice to know they eventually became drinking buddies. You know the fan comic by Alciedoodles, basically like that, that's what I'm trying to get at. I actually have created a whole scenario with the 2nd verse The lyrics "I feel my patience growing thin, You whisper "Don't you ever leave me." with a wisful dream Trying to pinch a nerve, but I've started to learn That your cunning, crafty ways Won't ease this feeling deep in my heart" The Majima family in the bar singing while Mine and Daigo are there just chilling and drinking. Mine is being irritated with the singing, then Daigo hits him with that line and a flirty smile where Mine then proceeds to be flustered, hahahaha. I love and hate my imagination. The first verse also connects in how I'm sure that Mine/Daigo vice versa knows that they're not exactly an angel and they do stuff around them that might not be ideal/good in their perspective. The visuals, I like to replace the student council room with the chairman's office 😅. The sequence of all the students, replace that with the clan members. Now here's where my imagination and knowledge about some RGGO stories really kicked in, you know the pre chorus part in the op 3, where Kaguya and Miyuki are in the student council room then it transitions like a film until Miyuki is gone and Kaguya looks back and sees that he's no longer there then it spirals. If you've read the "Character Story - Mine (RGGO)" translated by cryingcow (for anyone wanted to read or re read this here it is: https://cryingcow.tumblr.com/post/628065021946150912/character-story-mine-rggo ), the end half of chapter 2, that's basically what I imagine that sort of parallels in my mind to this part of the opening. While the chorus where Kaguya runs, I connect that to the chapter 3 of that story event since Mine is basically running around in Kamurocho trying to find out where Daigo went. (My favorite thing about that whole thing is that Mine called cap when the Barker told him that Daigo went into a taxi with a woman then bought every taxi company just to know where Daigo is 🤣🤣.) The bridge of the song fits them, where Mine is really affected on how Daigo acts as well as how it can be hard for Mine to explain his feelings. Depending on how you translated it, you can also interpret one of the lines as " Trigger on the gun, Towards the one you love" That fits with that Yakuza 3 cutscene.

I also wanted to add that op 2's visuals fits with MineDai as well: Mine as Kaguya and Daigo as Miyuki, the majima family as the other students dodging the arrow, and Kashiwagi as Hayasaka in the first 15 seconds. Then in the chorus, Majima with his family as Chika and others being the love detective. Aouxjsishdj hahahahaha I love and hate my brain.

MasaDai with op 4. Now we finally got to the part where this is fully created and fabricated by imagination. This is brainrot or creativity at the highest level. Love is Show definitely fits when things are going well between them. Tbh, with the visuals and song being classy, especially in the chorus, I can just see that hey maybe tojo clan holds an event where every family attends and that's where we can have Daigo and Masato dressed up properly and dance together. Though I like to think that they danced out of sight of anyone, like idk in the gardens? lol. The lyrics " The romance is about to wear off, I'm not normal, and neither are you Is it love or is it not?" as well as in the second verse, imo fits their whole thing. Like yes I ship them, but is it truly love or just attraction? Add to that there's also a lyric where it's saying that they don't want to be alone, which I think both of them feels. I see them as a parallel to one another where they both hated being part of the tojo clan or yakuza in general, which resulted to them being feeling rather lonely. I can see them finding solace and comfort in finding someone who can understand them. You know the MasaDai comics by todayisfridaynight and the fic "Sons of Bosses" (link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/45958153?show_comments=true&view_full_work=true ), works imo with the lyrics for both first and second verses, where they mostly talk in cabarets and have some tension going on. I know that the song is actually very sweet, but I also can't help but imagine the lyrics in the chorus as something alluding to this love is just a show, something they use to escape the reality of their world atm. I know it might sound far fetched but isn't that the beauty with art, we can twist it in our own interpretation (just be respectful, especially for differing opinions). The bridge of the somgs also compels me, I have this voice in my head that it works with MasaDai, but I can't see how atm.

Anyway, I think we can all agree that I am clinically insane and has a stage 5 brainrot for Daigo ships. Look he's my favorite I want to give him love, but it won't make it easy since when there's conflict it makes the payoff much more sweeter and deserving. Yes, I love angst with a happy ending. Look this gives a chance for a character arc, evolution, or growth and I like that.

So... this is it. My essay on how Kaguya sama openings can be connected to Daigo ships. Ngl, I enjoyed writing and sharing this since this have been eating on my brain for atleast a year now. i don't really talk about them much on here (it's a crime i haven't drawn them yet) but gosh i love ryudai so much 😭😭 i read circling dragons last year and it ruined my week in the best way. it's absolutely one of my favorite fics ever and i've been meaning to read it again!! it's so interesting to connect that here aaaaa ryuji and daigo's whole relationship is such a whirlwind… most of the time it's less than gentle, but they DO clearly care for each other, even if they're not the best at showing it lol. still, there's so much holding them back from each other, as you pointed out; like their pride, their ambitions/goals (especially on ryuji's part), the omi and the tojo,,, they keep gravitating toward each other, but given their situations and personalities, everything is just a mess aaauugugghh *screaming as i think about them*

also totally random to note, but there's that shot toward the end of the op where shirogane and kaguya are facing each other with guns behind their backs that makes me think specifically about that part from y2 where daigo and ryuji are just walking around each other at omi hq before they fight. i just like the image of them staring at each other surrounded by hearts dshjsfkj

don't worry anon, masadai itself has been created from crumbs that do not exist anyway LMAO. but YES i forget if i really mentioned it in your last ask, but op 4 mostly made me think of them like, when they first started dating (still in their honeymoon phase, so to speak). their 'love' is flashy and perfect (and they are annoying everyone around them) but despite all their similarities, there's still some massive differences in their personalities and how they view things, and i think it eventually leads to them fighting all the time,,, but they still keep getting back together because there isn't anyone else that understands them as much as they understand each other y'know,,, daigo, especially, WANTS to make it work; meanwhile masato just sorta likes how daigo keeps coming back to him,,, something like that anyway. i'm still trying to find the words exactly and that's what that fic i was working on is about adfjkgjhflkjhg

i think this is a neat intepretation of the song! with them, their love isn't exactly… good, and obviously it eventually goes to shit. though when it comes to kaguya and shirogane, i think the song is more about how their love should be like, shown off and celebrated now that they've confessed

The Cage: Chapter 23 Author's Notes

Chessa and the Gur Children

Normally in game, you trigger the cutscene with Sebastian first, then you can interact with the Gur kids. I wanted to switch this around for two reasons. First, Sebastian's section hits harder when Astarion starts to catch on to the true details of the ritual, and second, it's a little weird for him to come extremely close to an emotional breakdown, then be flippant and sassy around a bunch of kids.

Sebastian

Originally, the flashbacks to Astarion's night with Sebastian weren't a thing, but I'm glad they are, because it's exactly what Cazador would This whole section is heavily inspired by this gorgeous animatic set to El Tango de Roxanne. It's lived in my head rent free ever since I saw it, and it honestly illustrates just how terrible Astarion's life as Cazador's spawn was.

Sebastian has always been a foil to Nanne, in the sense that what he endured was exactly what Astarion spared Nanne from. I wanted their meeting to be memorable - while Astarion says he remembers every person in the cell he finds Sebastian in, he also mentions multiple times in the game and demonstrates that he has a very hazy memory under Cazador's abuse and torture. While Sebastian was indeed one of his first victims, and he was sweet, shy, and handsome, I wondered why Astarion would bring up dining with Cazador in game as an example of how horrible a master he is, instead of mentioning being tortured in the Kennels for a tenday straight. So, this scene materialized.

Astarion's reasoning for picking flaying over eating a rat is both from spite and guilt over luring Sebastian back.

The Cage

Like I mentioned in the end notes for the chapter itself, this whole scene inspired the idea of Nanne being a potential victim for Cazador that Astarion spared. Again, it's not a novel idea, but I loved it, so I went with it in my own way.

If Nanne hadn't already known that Astarion was the pale elf who'd dumped them in Fraygo's ten years ago, they would have figured it out right now - but now they understand just what Astarion spared them from. Seeing Sebastian both scares them and fills them with grief for Astarion for that reason.

And then Astarion says that he's going through with the ritual anyway and Nanne loses it.

Nanne at this point hasn't really openly protested Astarion ascending because, well, in earlier acts, Astarion always would talk a big game about how bad and evil he is, but never follow through. He may bitch about Nanne doing kind things, like saving gnomes, etc. but that's pretty much it. Even his plan of taking over the Cult of the Absolute is literally "Find device, kill people, profit!" So, they both assumed that their own transformation into being half illithid would dissuade Astarion from making a grab for more power, and that naturally over time he'd chill out and not be so hellbent to murder people. Astarion is also stressed the entire time they're in Baldur's Gate. They don't want to risk straining their relationship over a fight like this.

However, this is the moment where they realize that Astarion will never give up the ritual on his own. He's literally seen every person he's seduced for Cazador turned into spawn, including children, knows he'll have to sacrifice them all, and that's not enough to stop him. They're horrified, scared, and sad for Astarion because he's desperate. They realize that they can't just stand idly by and wait for Astarion to make the right decision.

There's also anger at themself. Why did Astarion pick them? Why were they the lucky one, when previously they've been so unlucky? Why didn't they realize sooner that they really, genuinely needed to talk to Astarion about this before the palace?

In the end, they hope that when the chips fall, Astarion will have that same burst of conscience that he had when he spared them ten years ago - but now they know they can't count on that, and that unsettles them, deeply.

Cazador

We all joke about how Cazador's kind of sad and pathetic when we meet him in game, but I honestly think that makes him even more terrifying as a villain. This is a small man with a reedy voice, and Astarion is still scared shitless of him, even with a small army at his heels. He's put Astarion through hell, and even with three months of adventuring and freedom, Astarion fears him more than anything.

However, the bastard really loves monologuing, and Nanne ain't about that, so they try to intervene - and fail. Chatterteeth casts Eyebite: Fear on them, so they're overwhelmed with terror and can't move while Astarion is trapped in the ritual.

The way that Cazador's boss fight is set up is perfect for a video game, but has a lot of, erm, oversights. However, I got to give the guy credit: he knows how to put on one hell of a ritual, and that staircase is a good chokepoint. As long as he can hold it, then he can pull off the ritual without a hitch.

Since my mind only seems to come up with these things during school and very late at night when I should be asleep-

Actor AU!! this does feature shipping so if that makes you uncomfortable feel free to skip this, it’s only with content creators who are ok with it tho!! and ofc personas and characters, not the irl people

- Techno is the stunt choreographer/trains all the actors in stage combat, Dream actually did parkour and skateboarding before auditioning so he and Techno bond over doing stupid tricks and choreography

- Karl is an assistant director, he’s fresh out of college and a bit of a klutz but he loves helping out around set and he always remembers everyone’s coffee orders

- Philza is Tommy and Tubbo’s agent/manager, although he’s close friends with Wilbur and Techno as well

- Since I absolutely love Tommy and Dream’s dynamic we’re going to throw in some Tommy/Dream mentor/mentee vibes, Dream finds Tommy practicing some stunts one day in the studio and goes over to help him out, they end up talking for hours while training, now it’s a Thursday night tradition (Techno shows up sometimes too)

- Dream gets anxiety attacks sometimes, Tommy helps him learn how to manage them (Tommy got them too for the first few years of acting, Tubbo helped him learn how to cope)

- George and Sapnap have been acting/modeling for years, although Sapnap is definitely a better actor. George gets a lot of modeling gigs, Dream takes every opportunity to make fun of how he doesn’t have a fashion sense of his own but still ends up on the front page of Vogue

- Wilbur and Fundy prank everybody on set all of the time, Wilbur’s known for purposely messing up lines or going full improv mode (although they usually end up keeping the improv scenes for the final cuts)

- Fundy and Niki help design the costumes sometimes, Niki and Wilbur both sit in the costumes room and sew to destress, and Fundy is surprisingly good at design

- Tommy and Tubbo share a trailer on some of the outdoor sets, it’s covered in posters and string lights and empty cans of coca cola but they hold sleepovers there sometimes when filming goes really late

- Tubbo is secretly really good at hacking and has sabotaged filming on more than one occasion just for fun

- Eret is really good with makeup/special effects, he helps out the makeup team when they’re prepping Tommy for a fight scene and gives him a huge cut across his arm, Tommy takes a million pictures for Instagram and immediately goes to find Tubbo and scare him

- Dreamnotfound but they’re too oblivious to realize their true feelings, fake dating trope for the publicity, it goes well enough for the first season but once they inevitably ‘break up’ things get rough

- Dream gets really close with Fundy during the filming break, they watch Treasure Planet together and talk about how difficult all relationships are as a celebrity

- Techno and Dream fight each other and challenge each other to do reckless parkour moves all the time, they’re amazing at coming up with fight choreography together even if they won’t admit it

- Premiere night of the first episode! Everybody gets ready in the same hotel room, it’s loud and chaotic and there’s a lot of panicked yelling while people pull on dresses and suits and do their makeup

- They all decide to wear some variation of the strawberry dress in support of Tubbo, Eret and Niki wear the actual dress, Tubbo wears the dress over a black turtleneck, Dream wears a strawberry-patterned button up with suspenders and a jacket, George wears a pink suit coat and a strawberry tie, Sapnap wears a black suit with strawberries on it (and a cowboy hat, much to everybody’s confusion), Fundy has a patterned button up and a vest, Wilbur has a pink sweater and a black coat lined with strawberry fabric, Tommy wears a white suit with a pink shirt and tie

- It makes quite a statement at the premiere, they’re on the front page for weeks and the show is an immediate success

- Dream skyrockets to fame as well, which is a bit overwhelming

- Quackity, Punz, Ponk, Antfrost and Schlatt all join for the second season, there’s some controversy with Schlatt because of his contract and then him leaving during the first season, but everything gets smoothed over

- Dream and George don’t talk at all during the filming break, even at conventions and signings and photoshoots they manage to avoid each other

- Until the script read-through, of course
