decided to revisit the bingo that @kazz-brekker and i made in advance of s2 of interview with the vampire before i watch episode five tomorrow.

thoughts on things i have crossed off:

multilingual armand: speaks french and mentions he speaks other languages (french, italian, hindi?, english). still curious about him speaking kazakh in season 1! i wonder if that's a language he picked up during his time enslaved? i started going down an internet rabbit hole of researching stuff like the khivan slave trade but that is perhaps something better suited for examining after the season finishes airing.

lestat hallucination: actually didn't expect there would be that much but it's been interesting! however now i am ready for louis and armand to develop their own special hellish issues without lestat literally hovering over their shoulders.

lestat backstory flashback: more of an armand flashback but i'm counting it.

arson: they burnt down the mansion during the first group hun + foreshadowing for the theater burning has been heavily dropped already.

human rashid turns up: and he looks very fed-up with his bosses tbh.

african american expat communities: some discussion of being african american in midcentury france in episode 2.

daniel challenges armand's narrative: "disregard" had me screaming at the tv

some of these are probably not happening (james baldwin namedrop, josephine baker cameo), two are almost definitely not but i don't regret wishing for them (armand ate marius, bricktop williams comes back) and some i think will play out during the rest of the season so i'm just waiting to see how that shakes out (bi/gay daniel, claudia is queer)

Actually what do you think about Armand’s relationship with women? I feel like he interacts the least with women out of our main four. He seems to come to respect Madeline and resents Claudia but that doesn’t really tell me much. (And I keep having to remind myself he’s bi bc I have such a hard time imagining him with a woman, for the same reason)

It definitely feels like he interacts with them the least, although I don't think we've seen Daniel share the screen with a woman character yet, haha. I don't know, it's kind of hard to make an assessment on at this stage given Armand has such few scenes with women / has women less embedded in his life (which is kinda funny to consider given he arguably has women around him a lot in the Paris Coven)? His resentment of Claudia feels so tied to his resentment of Louis and Lestat's relationship specifically that it feels hard to disentangle from that. After all, as their child, she's really a symbol of the seriousness and depth of their relationship, and I think that the show was very deliberate about that between the whole Baby Lulu set-up / Claudia de Lioncourt - both beats that underline her as her fathers' daughter.

It's kind of interesting to think of his erasure of Gabrielle from his recounting of Paris in that sense too. This denial of these women in the lives of these men who, on paper, shouldn't be a threat to him as mother (well, mostly, haha) and daughter.

I guess I'd say in that sense that Armand's mostly period-typical sexist / dismissive with the women he engages with broadly given he clearly undermines their abilities (is more than happy to mount Sam's new play with 0 roles for the women in the coven) and experiences (the whole situation with Madeleine), but goes search-and-destroy when they're attached to someone he's fixed on.

It's going to be suuuuper interesting to see how the show depicts his dynamic with Gabrielle next season though, both in the flashbacks and in the modern timeline too (especially as from memory Gabrielle and Marius have a little bit of a thing? Don't quote me on that though, haha). But yeah, I don't think we've seen enough of Armand outside of Louis yet to really know what his relationship with women is like, but the fact that he is bi definitely opens up some interesting doors in the future.

god this is so incredibly late I'm so sorry. with that being said:

(these are modern au, I'm in that kind of mood rn)

-marius likes classical music more than any other genre. he enjoys going to local orchestra concerts.

-marius and enjolras are actually really good friends, especially once marius has been around courfeyrac/the rest of the abc enough to get some Coherent Political Stances. they don't see eye to eye 100% of the time but they always have interesting conversations over coffee. autism-to-autism communication, etc.

-he's the sole Token Straight of the abc/abc adjacent folks (I'm sorry bi marius enjoyers, I see you, for me he just exudes confused ally token straight vibes. he has two gfs tho if that counts).

-on the subject of the two girlfriends: in my head there is a very funny dynamic where, at least to start, marius has a massive crush on cosette, who has a massive crush on eponine, who has a massive crush on... marius. this goes on for quite some time before any of them actually realize.

-he's generally a very stay-off-to-the-side, let-others-take-the-lead sort of person, except for some very specific moments where there'll be some sort of crisis and he'll just. come up with the wildest fucking idea that somehow ends up working (i.e. canon era blowing up the barricade). if enjolras has "occasional outbursts of eloquence", marius has occasional outbursts of tactical brilliance.

-he's on the prelaw track. bahorel (ex-law student from way back when, hates the subject on principle), bossuet (in a casual situationship with the idea of being a lawyer), and courfeyrac (almost did law school but last-minute switched to education and never looked back) constantly bother and tease him about it.

-one time very early on he was at a small rally and struck up a long and cordial-ish conversation with javert. enjolras rarely gets visibly angry with marius (he saves it for The System), but he just about bit his head off that time. (for context: do not fucking talk to cops, and especially not at a protest.)

-harbored some not-so-great preconceived notions about criminals/the justice system that were leftovers from being raised by his grandfather. this ended up being a sticking point in his relationship with cosette (valjean being her dad and an ex-con) and with eponine (career criminal parents). eventually comes around on this matter, but it takes a while.

I actually had a lot of fun making these! thanks for the ask!

Ok, trying for some more coherent thoughts about iwtv s2e7 behind the read more (spoilers, obviously):

Santiago the little shit is loving this. Oh Ben Daniels is so perfect.

Dang, Sam Reid, you have no right to look this good (his hair's on point, this can't actually be Louis' POV LOL xD). Also, Lestat looks so very pissed off when he comes on stage. Doesn't want to be there, indeed.

"He was as much of a captive as we were." uh-huh, sure, Jan. Come on, Louis, you don't really believe that?

And Armand can go "I couldn't prevent it" all he wants, he definitely could have prevented it at any stage before they were actually on the stage and maybe even when the play already started. He was the coven master and could have legally put Santiago down for the mutiny he was brewing, which Armand was very aware of. But he didn't.

So those theorising they'd make Lestat's first dirt nap longer to account for the time changes were right. He did really nap like 100 years before Marius dug him back up.

Oooooh Lestat /hates/ Santiago.

Santiago and vampire Sam trying way too hard to make Louis look like a predator with their little play about Louis hunting Lestat instead. Pff, boys, no one would ever buy that.

Lestat moves like a wind up toy sometimes, or maybe I'm imagining things, but once again, the acting from everyone in this episode is so, so good. Give everyone involved in this show all the awards!

Lestat tearing down that homophobic soldier is *chef's kiss* but also, if he was strong enough to get himself up there and back down so quickly, read his mind, and later get into the mind of the guy with his loneliness, how are we supposed to believe he's weak and being controlled/forced to do this play? Over all I don't see how they'll do the whole "Lestat came to beg Armand for his blood to get healed" thing with Lestat not being all that bad off, in the end.

I'd say with the revisited flash backs to Claudia's turning and to the fight in s1e5 the truth lies somewhere between the two accounts. Louis said the trial's retelling of Claudia's turning was more right, sure, but as with all eye witness accounts, they are never 100% true. So yeah, somewhere between the accounts lies the truth.

LOL Real Rashid's entrance there is so good. We needed something to break all that tension. Thank you, Real Rashid, I hope they don't eat you for it xD (or, you know, for being a Talamasca spy in their home...)

See, i said it, Lestat looking damn near pristine all through that fight in s1e5 was a hint. No one looks that good after crashing through walls. They fought, because rage had been simmering for 7 years and it finally boiled over. They beat each other up and Lestat went too far. Now can we finally stop having the same discourse over this thing again and again and again? (Also I just love the foresight in this show, how they showed us the dent in Louis' coffin in s1 but we only get an explanation for it in s2. Awards, for every last person working on this show, now!)

Lestat's talk about how he broke Louis: Sam Reid, the actor you are. Dang, so good.

"One more round in the stormy romance of you two!" You tell them, Claudia. Oh girl, you deserved so much better.

So was Louis aiming that cup of blood at Armand or at the wall? Because Armand definitely had to move out of the way at least a little.

I do wonder, did they make sure Madeleine was so out of it for most of the trial because they hoped she'd stay with the coven if she didn't have much of an idea what was going on? Or did they do the same thing to her as to Louis and Claudia and she was just more susceptible because she's weaker?

Her choosing Claudia again, even if it means death, is all Claudia ever wanted. Dang, these bi ladies are giving me all the feels.

Claudia telling the audience she's gonna go full on murder ghost on all their arses: iconic. Also you can't tell me Lestat didn't look proud as hell right there. That's his daughter, never going down without a fight, never giving in.

Claudia and Madeleine in the sun is so heartbreaking :( Claudia holding Madeleine like movie!Madeleine held movie!Claudia. Ladies, you deserved better. Fuck these vampires.

And Louis, in that rock filled coffin, feeling them both die :( Claudia because he can read her mind, and Madeleine because he made her. (And they helpfully labelled the fucking door so Armand will know which one to pull Louis out of when he "rescues" him.....)

Can not wait for Louis to go full on Blade on the coven's collective arses next episode.

Daniel for the 'send me a character' thing

Send me a character and I'll do the thing!

Sexuality Headcanon: He’s definitely on the bi side of the scale, but I think he skews a lot closer to gay and probably identifies more as gay, especially in the 70s in the circles that he and Armand traveled in. Although I don’t think Daniel has ever been particularly picky about labels applied to him in that sense, either.

Gender Headcanon: Daniel is the opposite of toxic masculinity. He can be masculine and he has body hair for days, but he’s generally soft-spoken and gentle. Cis, but not worried about being manly enough, you know? 

A ship I have with said character: Armand/Daniel is my OTP of all time. I think he and Armand are just two halves of a whole and they make each other better. I absolutely think they’re soulmates in the deepest sense of the word. There’s the joke that Daniel is sort of Armand-sexual but I think it’s sort of true. Armand is the love of his life and the feeling is mutual. 

And sometimes Daniel/Marius? Please don’t hurt me, but I go back and forth on whether I see him and Marius as romantic. The first time I read PL, it felt very platonic. Marius had spent a long time as Daniel’s caregiver and while they’re obviously close and connected, it didn’t read to me as anything romantic and the asexual in me longs for more platonic ships in this fandom. But I think the vampires can have a lot of intimacy without getting hot and heavy (this is true of humans too btw). I do think as a romantic ship, it's hot as hell and tbh I’ve written it both ways. I can enjoy it both ways! But in my personal fanonverse, it’s something I waiver on a lot. I do think they’re good together either way!

A BROTP I have with said character: Daniel and Lestat (it’s a BroTP with benefits, bonus points if it’s with Armand as an OT3). They just have a fun dynamic. They can get into trouble together and cause chaos, but they also sort of even each other out. Daniel allows Lestat to open up a little more than he usually does because he’s a good listener, non-judgemental, and adept at asking the right questions. Lestat allows Daniel to vent about Armand (in an affectionate way - we all need to get things off our chests!) and he appreciates Daniel’s sense of humor and wit. They both liking having fun and doing random shit.

A NOTP I have with said character: I don’t know that I have any real NOTPs with him. Maybe Santino? I don’t personally see him having any sort of romantic relationship with Louis, I see them as being friends who both have great love for Armand, but I’m not bothered by the idea either. 

A random headcanon: When Daniel was recovering from his madness, Armand sent him an iPod when he heard Daniel sometimes got overwhelmed by noise. Daniel became obsessed with the podcasts at the time, mostly radio shows, things like Radio Lab, This American Life, and Stuff You Should Know. After he moves back into Trinity Gate, he and Armand listen to his favorite episodes of these together and have long discussions about them afterward. 

General Opinion over said character: I think Daniel is neat. He’s affable, he’s friendly, he’s good at making conversation. He’s curious and up for almost anything, which is why he and Armand work so well. He’s funny and has a dark, sardonic sense of humor. He laughs easily, maybe too easily, but he’s pretty easy to get along with. He’s generally pretty agreeable but he isn’t afraid to speak up when necessary. He’s a cool dude. I dig him.

Just a small disclaimer: This is my personal headcanon and doesn't need to influence in your interpretation of this said characters. Kindly do not take this as verbatim. ( Also, I may have been a tad bit inspired by "Mourning Becomes Electra" since I read it recently)

Also just beforehand, let me tell you the birth years;

Pollux - 1904 (cause the canon one makes no sense)

Cassiopeia and Violetta disagreed on many things throughout their life. Ever since Cassiopeia was a child, she would frequently get into arguments with Violetta on the most trivial of things, solely wth the intention of annoying her mother. Violetta was very displeased when Cassiopeia didn't make a pure-blood marriage and remained a spinster.

Marius and Dorea were HEAVILY BABIED by Violetta. She was borderline obsessive about her youngest children and wouldn't let them go out of their estate when they were little.

Arcturus Black III was Ursula Black (née Flint)'s favourite grandchild. ( I have no proper evidence man what the hell-) Majority of his cousins despised him for being the poster child throughout their childhood.

Many in the Pure-blood wizarding society were surprised when Arcturus Black III announced his marriage to Melania Macmillan, for it was known that the Macmillans were more tolerable in their stance on blood purity.

Lycoris Black was THAT GIRL during her time. Many of her younger cousins as well as young pure-blood maidens would ask her for fashion tips.

Also more random blorbos about Lycoris because gurly is my favourite.

Lycoris could be considered the definition of "beauty and brains". Also, my brain is screaming at the idea of Lycoris being bi.

Regulus Black I was a big Mama's boy. (No, not in an Oedipal way. ) Hesper was definitely most close to him and continued to be, even in adulthood.

Lycoris bullied her little brother Regulus a lot, and grew to regret it.

Marius was disowned in late December. (Don't ask me why, I still don't have a justification)

Charis and Dorea were pretty close while growing up and Dorea was Charis's bridesmaid during her wedding to Caspar Crouch.

Hesper, Lysandra and Violetta definitely gossiped about their husbands A LOT.

Regulus Black I was the first to die from this generation and at the age of 33 on 16 August 1939 while tending to a Venomous Tentacula.

Reggie totally didn't die on the same date just forty years later-

Hesper Gamp followed her youngest in death. She passed away next year in 1940 of a broken heart.

The same year Cedrella was disowned for marrying a blood-traitor Septimus from the Weasley family. Another blow for the Blacks.

Callidora had her son with Harfang Longbottom named Enoch Harfang.

I’m curious how many IWTV fans (book/film/show - doesn’t matter) have heard of or see Wir sind die Nacht (We Are the Night).

(trying to find a poster that had all four vamps is near impossible... quit ignoring Nora, marketing people!)

Because when I watched it, my first thought was “Oh it’s modern IWTV (and The Lost Boys, the more I think about it) but with German lesbians and bi women!”

And I reckon it’s a really cool film. Very aesthetically stylish but also brutal as hell. Seriously, Lena’s transformation is one of the most horrific things I’ve ever seen in a vampire story followed by one of the most gorgeous things I’ve ever seen. It’s got an interesting take on immortality (notably Charlotte’s story - oof that was depressing), and of course a big dose of toxic love.

I also wonder if the writers of the AMC show watched this film because the episode five fight in the sky made me go “hang on... this sounds familiar” - yeah the character Louise in Wir sind die Nacht is basically a combo of Lestat and Armand (and Marius...) with Akasha’s intense radfem ideology (which is NOT a good ideology... it also makes her a giant hypocrite cos she’s the most controlling one in the group while proudly boasting that men are too controlling and possessive to be vampires)

Anyway, I highly recommend this film. It’s got a great cast, good story, epic soundtrack, and for the love of God do not watch it in the English dub because it’s pretty painful to listen to.

So yeah, I recommend checking it out if you haven’t already :) (just a heads up - it does feature attempted sexual assault and suicide)

YAY okay so my first oc is Marius (they/them or he/she, I haven’t decided yet. White[?], intersex polyam aroace, seems to be in their 40s, started off as a sona but is still a self insert), then we have Bonnie (she/her, aboriginal, bi polyam trans woman/sistergirl, seems to be in her 40s), and finally Edward (he/him, Indian and Dutch, polyam bi trans man, seems to be in his 40s)! Relationship wise, Marius is in a qpr with Bonnie and Edward, who are married.

Content warning for like violence and minor descriptions of gore and cannibalism and unhealthy relationships and (mcd) death and corpses!

So Marius is an Angel sent to earth (specifically Australia because hell yeah represent) to help the survivors of a major world wide nuclear destruction or attack. Marius soon learns that most survivors are vampires, who feel the affects of the radiation much slower. Marius eventually gets eaten and gutted and killed by a group of vampires before being picked up by another group of vampires and taken to this shelter/institution where Bonnie and Edward work together to bring Marius back to life.

Also worth mentioning that Marius had known and helped Bonnie back when she was still alive/not a vampire with like science shit and also before bonnie dug up Edward and brought him back to life (Bonnie did this in the 1970s and Edward had died in the 1940s)

So Marius is brought back wrong (used to be really happy and cheerful and shit but is now really angry and aggressive but still loving. I’m pushing all my aggression and possible npd/bpd traits into them it’s great) and is now an atypical vampire (since they were just given vampire body parts that corrupted the rest of their body instead of being sired)

Marius struggles with like religious guilt and shit as well as new feeling of decay

At this point I should also share the vampires in my worlds like idk shit.

Vampirism is more of a chronic illness. Most vampires are not sired, and are born with vampirism. Once they die of the symptoms (usually in their 40s-60s) they are now a vampire. Vampires are constantly going through the human decaying process at a slower rate to normal corpses, and don’t feel affects of other illnesses the same or at all. Every month or so they have to bury themselves in the ground to restart the decaying process and get their body back in shape. It can take longer depending on how far into the decaying process their were. Also they have to do this if they are badly injured. They will fully decay and not be able to be brought back (unless I guess bonnie the mad scientist she is brings them back) if they don’t bury themselves.

So anyways Marius doesn’t know how to show their love for Bonnie and Edward, and is also being visited by their Angel spouse (don’t know anything about them yet) so they are just having a rough time with those emotions and also just vampiric stuff. So marius thinks the best way to show their love is to cannibalise Bonnie and Edward. Keep in mind marius thinks this is a human kind of thing to do. This relationship actively hurts everyone involved but they do love each other very much so yay we love toxic yuri/yaoi 💪💪💪

There’s some stuff with the ending where basically marius’ Angel spouse comes and is upset and they argue about marius not loving them anymore and marius cannibalises them but that just kills them and then heaven is sent down to take marius back and punish them so they get Bonnie to kill them and never bury them again it’s pretty wild

FUCK okay edit I forgot to mention that the shelter/institute is a shelter for any vampire who wants to stay and for vampires to research the nuclear shit around them as well as general vampirism shit. Bonnie is just the token mad scientist but Edward is the leading librarian as well as Bonnie’s lab assistant. Bonnie is girlboss and Edward is loser husband <333

Sexuality Headcanon: so I HC that Armand's sexuality is... Weird. He is bi, but his sexual preferences are almost entirely based on blood exchange (assuming vampires can have sex. If not, that's irrelevant anyway). Sex isn't nearly as provocative for him as the act of being in control and observing before participating only to drink blood from his partner(s). Sex is just a bodily function, but blood exchange is the real pleasure for him. Both in a sexual way and in the kill.

That goes without saying, he almost never gives his blood to anyone, though he'll drink from anyone he wants. Canonically, to my 1am brain's recollection, he only shares his blood with Marius and Daniel (possibly Louis, depending on show or book canon), and he offers Lestat his blood.

Gender Headcanon: Armand is trans. That's my big gender HC for Armand. But honestly he forgets he's even trans because it just doesn't really matter for vampires at a certain point?? Like what does it matter what's in your pants or whatever unless you're entangled with the human perspective on desire? His gender is Armand, The Vampire. That's it.

A ship I have with said character: so besides the obvious Devil's Minions, I also ship him with Santiago and a couple others!

A BROTP I have with said character: they never really interact but Mael & Armand would be gremlins together and you cannot convince me otherwise lmao

A NOTP I have with said character: Armand/David. Honestly, David with anyone.

A random headcanon: Armand is basically everyone's sleep paralysis demon at Trinity Gate. He just kinda shows up and stares at them like 👀 hey kid, u got gamez on ur phone?

In the show verse, he does this frequently to Daniel when he's trying to have a peaceful rest in his locked bedroom. After he reveals himself of course. Before that point, he'd just creepily watch Daniel sleep a la Edward Cullen from the corner of the room and leave before he's really noticed. Though Daniel swears he saw someone looking at him from the closet one night.

General Opinion over said character: I think in general, Armand is very misunderstood. He's a very easy character for people to project trauma and relate trauma to - for better and worse. That said, I would die for him.

Hello, it's me again, I don't know what happened, but you probably missed my question, so I decided to write again, I hope I don't look intrusive. In the lead question, I was wondering if Freckle would then be a love interest in the devil moon in the future, or would he not show up at all? And yet, I'm interested in the reaction of Lakadaisy's characters to the fact that the MC is disabled/wears a brace, who will sympathize, help, and who will not react to this in any way?

I'll answer these one at a time, and a cut because I'm rambly.

Yes I recall that ask, I thought I answered it privately? Though I sent another private ask to someone and it didn't go through, so who knows. Calvin isn't going to be present or a love interest because it's 1925, so he's currently in high school. The same goes for Ivy.

I'd rather write out the "reaction" in the story than say anything definitively here, but I'm also not sure what to say to this? Marius and Jack are familiar with a disabled MC and will assist them if asked. It's the same with other characters; they'll help if the MC specifically asks for it. There will be dialogue where the disability is discussed (not just the prosthetic & brace, but also burns, facial scarring, etc) but I've yet to even draft that. I don't want to say "[X] happen for sure" because I'm not there yet, if that makes sense. Including the brace, prosthetic, chronic pain, partial deafness etc is based off my own experiences and the experiences of disabled people in my life, so the conversations around it are going to reflect what I've experienced personally and what they tell me, plus the lens of the 1920's over that. Additionally, these are all options for a character, so they aren't going to get their own massive scenes and long conversations. Occupation, Deal and Romantic/Platonic interest get the lion's share of scene variation.

That said, I've already added some extra flavor text and variations for the prosthetic/brace, as well as partial deafness and visible scars in the 1.1 Update.

I don't think a tortoiseshell pattern would bother him much haha. It's a very common coat pattern, he would see it all the time. Besides, any MC can potentially be asymmetrical - missing an eye or ear, having burn scars, heterochromia, being bi colored (bc the exact pattern isn't specified unless you pick tuxedo), being calico, etc.

I think that describes my core pretty well. A human-sized hobbit. I like sci-fi and fantasy of most types. I use my potato powers to play games of all kinds but I do have many favorite franchises and then just a lot of random things I’ve tried with friends (my avatar is a screencap from the Crusader Kings III loading screen that makes me laugh the most, the aesthetic is very, “I’ve had enough of your shit Eustace, come and say that to my face”). Keep reading for the deep dive, no promises on rambling. 

Call me Ashlynn, or Ash, I call myself Ash a lot. She/her/they, a millenial verging on that elder line, bi-pan romantic, agender femme comfortable (femme euphoria is *chef’s kiss*), demisexual riding my starship through the internet voids. 99.99% autist (self-dx, always trying to keep learning to make sure the brain gremlins stay somewhat contained *lolsob*at the even more likely audhd combo and the constant brainfight between Order and ~*chaos*~). Is that why we all love to hyperfocus on mythology? The eternal struggle between divine order and chaos?

Even now I’m reigning in the urge to get side-tracked when this was supposed to be straight-forward, a little fun ‘hello’ and now I want to write ten-thousand essays all at once. It’s why I tend to lurk (bringing it back). I’ve been on Tumblr a long-time and quit during the great banning of tiddies protest in whatever 20-year that was. I wasn’t super involved anyway. This was once a blog where I role-played as Marius from AR’s Vampire Chronicle’s. That used to be a huge pass-time of mine actually, text-based RPG’s on forums (anyone remember Avidgamers/Acornrack? That’s like the real deep cuts of forum-based rpg-ing and it was so cute and customizable in an early internet Myspace sort of way. I would say it’s collapse definitely taught me some deep lessons about retaining data/copies because it was literally there one day and gone the next with zero warning and just so many beautiful things and connections lost to the void). I really sympathize with (some) Twitter users and (most) Reddit users that either have already had that happen or are precariously on the verge of having that happen. Here’s hoping that Tumblr isn’t on the verge of tripping right when I was getting back to it.

I decided just to private the RPG posts, there aren’t that many it wasn’t really my main Tumblr blog at the time of the great logging out. The trend of Tumblr RPing was fun though, I don’t know if that’s still a thing people do actively or seek out but I guess I’ll find out. I think that’s enough to start, see ya’ out there.

Okay so after being in the Newsies fandom for about a year and being vaguely aware of the Les Mis fandom for *checks watch* approximately one week, I've discovered that they are very similar for a multitude of reasons but the funniest difference is that the Les Mis fandom (from what I can tell) looked at this human disaster of a man who fell in love with a random woman he met like two minutes ago and went "This is the token straight friend. He managed to get a girlfriend and no one knows how, least of all him. He has no idea what is going on ever" and the Newsies fandom looked at this human disaster of a man who fell in love with a random woman he met like two minutes ago and went "This is the human personification of bi panic. He is in love with his best friend and they are very very gay together. He has no idea what is going on ever".

Enjolras: oh boy, gay. Very gay. Also blonde. He has a big forehead. (This is the guy Joe Quinn played). He likes red a lot. Sings a whole damn song about it. He dies

Combeferre: what a funky man. He likes moths. Also, like the ENTIRE fandom has decided he's a medical student. Pretty sure it's not canon tho. He's played by that guy I was on about the other day who I thought was like 40. He also dies

Courfeyrac: gay. Short king. Defo likes theater. Literally everyone's friend. Either dating Jehan or Combeferre depending on the fanfic you read. I've met the guy that played him in the film. Also dead

Grantaire: Cynic. Has a crush on Enjolras. The fandom has decided he's a cat person and he does art. Bi. He's an asshole. But a loveable one. Honestly I can talk about the different characterisation of him for DAYS. My boy Vicky Hugo did him so dirty tho. Also dead

Feuilly: Orphan. Bless him. Sweetest boy. Honestly so slept on. Wants to adopt the whole world. Enjolras has had a crush on him. He also makes fans (how funky is that!). He's ginger. Most people Headcanon him as Polish (same tbf). An icon. I can talk about him for days. Oh he's also tall. And dead

Jean "Jehan" Prouvaire: Monarch of "what the fuck is gender?" No fashion sense whatsoever. Also another favourite of mine. Gay. Or queer. Something along those likes. They also speak like 10 languages (canon) I find that so freaking cool. He also plays the flute. And he does poems. Alistair Brammer plays him beautifully. They are the youngest of the barricade boys. They were kidnapped on the barricade and died alone. (I can talk about them for months)

Bahorel: Sometimes queer. Sometimes straight as fuck. I can't decide. Sports a stunning moustache. Boxer. Very muscley. I don't think about this guy enough. I should. He's a funky guy. Very loud. Also dead

Bossuet: B A L D. Big part of his character. Oh he's also bi. And polyamorous. Dating Joly and Musichetta. Very clumsy. Vicky Hugo makes this VERY obvious in the book. It's like he has 2 personality traits. Bald and Clumsy. He's also rad. Best buds with Grantaire. Dead

Joly: Med student. Also a hypochondriac. And germaphobe. This man.. please help him. He's very extravagant. Has a cane. And a top hat. Dating Bossuet and Musichetta (as said earlier). Also short king. Also Chinese. What an icon. And he's dead.

Marius: poor soul. Help him. Constant state of confusion. But somehow he pulls 2 bitches? Idk how either. Bless him, he's trying his best. Courfeyrac is his comfort extrovert. He is also afraid of Enjolras and Combeferre. Don't blame him tbf. Noodle boy. He's so tall.. like 6"5 or something. He actually survived.

Eponine: Has a crush on Marius in canon. But my Headcanon.. she's bi. She's also a bitch. But in the best way. I love her. Feminist. Marius is probably also scared of her. Shitty childhood. But y'know, she vibes. She also reminds me of you. And I've seen the person that plays her perform live. HOLY SHIT I cried. (For the record, the show was Frozen). Also dead

Cosette: Marius' main girl. In canon. Headcanon she's defo queer. Cottagecore goth. Adopted. Listens to Taylor Swift (so does Eponine, I forgot to mention that) she's probably Eponines girlfriend, let's be fair. She needs a hug. Trauma central. Bless her. I love her so much. I'm still deciding weather I like her with Blonde hair or Brown hair. Her and Jehan are besties. She also survived.

Musichetta: Icon. Ginger. Suuuper curly hair.. like wild. Pansexual. Also poly. As said earlier, dating Joly and Bossuet. Don't know much about her.. but she defo loves musicals. Watches bootlegs with R (grantaire) when bored. Indie/grunge style. Girl boss. I believe she survived.. idk tho
