Listen Queen of the Damned might not have been a good movie outside of a few performances, but that soundtrack was phenomenal. Every song told a story and fit Lestat so well. The show has BIG SHOES to fill in regards to that. The show score is good, but the music team needs to step up and show out next season.

ok gang i’m gonna be saying something controversial. those who are pushing the whole “they are monsters, mortal ethics don’t apply to them, none of them are good people they’re all awful” need to be applying that to marius as well. look, i don’t personally love marius but i think he’s a good character AND we certainly shouldn’t be judging people who like him when our favorite characters aren’t much better. he’s a vampire, a monster just like louis and lestat and armand and claudia, not a human
anyway, you don’t have to like him, but live and let live

Resentful of the perfunctory portrayal in the trashy bestseller Interview With The Vampire, the Vampire Lestat sets his story straight in a way only the Vampire Lestat can — by starting a band and going on tour. Gabrielle. Nicholas. Magnus. Marius. Those Who Must Be Kept. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed and others we can’t tell you about yet on a sexy pilgrimage across space, time and trauma. No auto-tuning. No trigger warnings. All feels amplified.

OK so if the setup for future seasons is Daniel continuing to interview other vampires, starting with Lestat in Season 3 --
I deeply, truly want him to meet Marius in the modern day and just go absolutely apeshit on him with his particular brand of acid-laced questioning.
"So, just for the readers to understand, you were buying slaves that were how young, exactly? And you loaned them out to approximately how many of your buddies? A ballpark estimate would be GREAT if you can give one."

Given what happens between them in the books, I really am so intrigued for how we might get Daniel and Marius interacting. Bc if old Daniel knew who he was going in, he absolutely would be (rightly) grilling him and mocking him over the (admittedly sparse) information he has re:Armand’s past. And it’s interesting bc of how much Daniel and Marius’s storyline does mirror Armand’s and Marius’s in the books. Marius is, essentially, Daniel’s “rescuer.” He’s again putting himself in that position of savior, of benefactor, of protector. (And it all says a lot about how he views Armand, as well).
I don’t necessarily think Daniel and Marius will end up having a full relationship in the show but I do think they’ll likely at least briefly touch on that dynamic at some point, bc there’s so much to explore there. It makes me wonder if part of that will come about literally bc Daniel is unaware he’s meeting the Marius de Romanus when it happens. Possibly bc he’s not exactly lucid, possibly bc Marius is using a different identity, possibly for other reasons.

I'm so conflicted about Queen Of The Damned's casting because on one hand, Armand was cast so fucking well. I love that cherubic little freak. On the other hand, I don't know who that man is, but that is NOT Marius.

If RJ is indeed Marius, I'm curious to see how Armand will react to him being involved in Daniel's life, considering he does see Marius as an abusive figure on his past.

I’m so ready for Marius and Gabrielle.
Gabrielle is voice in our heads while reading about Lestat’s bullshit. She knows her son and calls him out. She’s a middle-aged mother of seven who does not give a shit anymore. She’s probably the most stable vampire and that’s probably why she’s not really in the books. Having your shit together ain’t that interesting. Or (according to Armand) she’s just had enough of Lestat’s drama it doesn’t want to bother with his cries for attention.
Marius. Beautiful scholarly, and wonderfully fucked in the heart like all of our other vampires. I want Marius’s and Armand’s roller coaster relationship; master/slave, father/son, controlling/resentful, wanting/needing and completely in love. I want him to piss ppl off.
And I love Lestat’s relationship with his mentor Marius.
I’m so excited!

thinking about the armand painting again and how violent its very existence is. like there's layers to this.....this is a painting that was paid for with your body. in it, along with cattle and dogs, you're pictured worshipping your abuser, kneeling at his feet. your skin is whitened. your features barely recognizable...... and now this painting is in a public museum here for everyone to see. like anyone can come and see your bare, vulnerable throat.

What I say: I’m fine
What I mean: Louis called Armand by the original name that he was enslaved with and Armand immediately called him “Maitre” by reflex and all this time people have been claiming Armand is controlling but actually—

I'm seeing the odd person being confused about why Armand is so controlling in his relationship with Louis, and it boils down to him needing to feel safe.
The last time Armand felt safe was with his Maker, Marius, so he keeps trying to recreate that relationship with others and finding nobody else he dates is Marius (and that he cannot be that boy he was with Marius anymore). And yet, being in a relationship puts him in additional danger he must protect himself from--being abandoned--and he knows how to keep a coven together, so he runs his relationship like a coven. It makes perfect sense what Anne said about how, in seeking someone he can submit to, he winds up being domineering.
