Alec: An exclusive reportage on Adrien’s life !
Marinette: Oh! Adriennn~
Alec: We could follow the everyday life of the famous model.
The photographer: Peeerfect, daazzling. Mah, I need a smile more…Al dente (passionate/ardent?)
Adrien: A ranked dragon unrank a ranked dragon x2 (I? Think that’s what he says?)
The red-haired woman: Not bad, but do you think you can do it for me again a little more…orange ? (Wtf does she means by that no idea)
Adrien chuckles
Marinette: Aaawwhh… He really has an amazing life…

CN: Yoohoooo! Hm? Bugaboo?
Ladybug’s voice: It’s Ladybug, leave a message!

Plagg’s voice: No new messages, but don’t forget my cheese!
CN: But what could she possibly be doing?
Ladybug’s voice: It’s Ladybug, leave a message!
CN: Maybe that now that you’re the guardian of the miraculous, you have "more important things" to do. But you know what, it’s no big deal, I’m the cat of the situation! I'm starting without you! See you later I hope, give me a sign!
The fanboys: Woah, Chat Noir! Chat Noir, youhouuu, Chat Noir !
CN: I’ll finally be able to stretch my paws!
The fanboys: Chat Noir!!!! Oh thanks a lot Chat Noir!
CN: Oh errr well, at your service…
Plagg’s voice phone: No new messages, but don’t forget my cheese!

Kwami Sitting- Alya and the Kwamis
Alrighty, major spoilers from Gang of Secrets! Like, major.
But yeah, I've been having feels for that entire episode and because there was the reveal, it means kwami sitting! So here's some kwami content featuring platonic alyanette. Mentions of food.
Ftr, I made the zodiac kwamis all use they/them pronouns, though I don't think it ended up being too relevant in this fic. The main ones though do have genders.
Enjoy!
•~•~•~•~•~•
It had only been a day since Marinette had revealed her identity, and Alya liked to think that she was taking the news well. After all, that was Ladybug, the superhero that she'd wanted to unmask for so long, until she realized that it would hurt more than help. She still couldn't believe that she also happened to be her best friend.
But it made so much sense though. Both Marinette and Ladybug were strong, courageous, intelligent, and incredibly good friends. It explained why Marinette was always late to class or making excuses.
It also explained why she looked so broken. Because she wasn't just Ladybug, the only person who could undo the damage caused by Shadowmoth. She was also the Guardian of the Miraculous. She was someone who hated lies, but had to lie in order to keep everyone safe.
But she told her secret to Alya, and Alya vowed to help ease the burden that she was carrying.
"See this?" Marinette pointed to the large pink box, before it expanded to show dozens of coloured bottles. "This is where I keep the miracle box. And this is how I open it."
She then pressed down on a bunch of the bottles, before a drawer opened.
"Woah!" Alya gasped, before remembering that Marinette had been defensive about the dollhouse. "It took you less than a day to make that?"
"Uh... yes?"
"That's so cool!"
"Focus, Alya." She picked up the miracle box. "Each of the miraculous are stored in here, but the kwamis don't have to stay inside of it. And-"
She was interrupted by both her and Alya's phone buzzing. There was a notification about an akuma attack.
"You go, I'll look after the box! I'll also cover for you in case your parents come!" Alya told her, and she nodded.
Marinette transformed- woah it looked so cool!- and made her way to the roof. But before she left, she turned back to face Alya.
"If things get dangerous, I might have to come for one of the miraculous. Keep your phone in case I need to text you."
"Got it! I won't let you down, Marinette!"
Even though she would be missing out on a chance to film for the Ladyblog, this was an opportunity to properly meet the kwamis! She'd seen glimpses of them before, but her priority had been comforting Marinette over her curiosity. But now she actually had the chance to meet them all.
"Alright!" She called out. "You're all under my watch now! Can you like up so I can figure out who is who?"
She knew about the main miraculous, and some of the others, but she wasn't prepared to see just how many kwamis there were. She only recognized four. Trixx, Tikki, Wayzz and the bee whose name she didn't know. Others looked vaguely familiar, like the snake, horse and dragon. But she didn't know there was one for the pig, rooster, tiger (wait were they for the zodiac?).
"Ooh, you're Alya, right!" The pig kwami asked. "I'm Daizzi! It'd be really cool if you were my holder!"
"I told you, she's already taken!" Trixx replied.
Alya looked at the two kwamis. Were they fighting over her? It took all of her willpower to not scream, only because she didn't want Tom and Sabine to hear and get concerned. Then she'd have to explain why she was screaming, and Marinette's sudden absence. Yeah, she definitely should not do that.
"I'm very flattered that you'd like me as your holder, Daizzi" she said instead. "But as Trixx said, I'm taken. I like being Rena Rouge."
The other kwamis began to introduce themselves, and a brief summary of their powers. There was so much to take in and she wished she could talk to someone else about it, but knew that she couldn't, and wouldn't ever betray Marinette's trust like that.
After that, she sat on the bed and pulled out her phone. The kwamis were insanely old, so they'd probably be well behaved, and she could start writing down notes for her next Ladyblog article.
Or well, that's what she thought. Apparently all those years of living meant nothing, because as soon as she got distracted, she heard something fall to the floor.
It was a good thing that Alya had two devious sisters that had a tendency to cause destruction, otherwise she'd be fuming.
But because she had the experience, all she did was casually look back at her phone as if nothing had happened.
"Oh," she began, faking sweetness into her voice. "I was planning on getting you all some snacks, but I guess not."
The twins were starting to grow old enough to not fall for the tactic, but she suspected that the kwamis would. As expected, they turned towards her with wide eyes and sad expressions. They whispered amongst each other, before they moved to start cleaning up.
Trixx seemed to be participating half-heartedly- he probably knew what she was trying to accomplish, he was perceptive like that.
"Okay, what are your favourite snacks?"
She already knew that Trixx liked fruit, but she was not prepared for the variety of foods listed. Pollen liked peppers, Wayzz liked drinking tea, and there was a lot.
"Okay, I can't say that I'll be able to get food for all of you, but I'll do my best. Wayzz, I'm leaving you in charge."
She figured that since Wayzz was the previous guardian's kwami, he would be the wisest.
•~•~•~•~•~•
Alya took a deep breath, then tip toed down the stairs. The bakery wouldn't have everything, but taking a large variety of stuff would be weird. If it was just sweets, it'd be fine. But to take fruits and crackers and popcorn? She had to sneak the food back upstairs.
She looked into the kitchen and didn't see anyone.
"I haven't seen you in such a long time!" Sabine said from the front. "How have you been?"
Perfect! While they're distracted with the customer, I can get what I need.
Surprisingly, the kitchen raid went better than she'd expected. She managed to find even more food, and was able to carry it upstairs with ease. When she opened the trapdoor, the kwamis all beamed.
There was also no damage, fortunately.
"Before you eat," she said, chanelling all her authority into her tone. "I'm going to set up what we humans call a movie. Let's watch the Ladybug and Chat Noir movie."
It was easy to access it, since she already bought it online with an account. She got comfortable then started the movie.
The kwamis were fixated on the movie, impressed with the animation and the capabilities of the computer. However, there was a slight problem.
"How did they get the idea of the miraculous so wrong?" Baark asked.
"Remember, humans don't know that we exist. They have very little to work with," Wayzz answered.
Except that the others ignored him, and started critiquing the movie even more. Alya groaned. She was never going to be able to enjoy the movie again without thinking of the conversation going on around her.
•~•~•~•~•~•
There were footsteps on the roof, and then the trapdoor opened. Alya didn't look back at Marinette, even when she detransformed.
"Oh wow, you're good at this," Marinette remarked.
Alya only hummed as a response, and reached for the last of the popcorn. "I like stole a crap ton of food from the kitchen though. Hope you don't mind."
"Are you kidding me? I haven't seen them sit still in ever!"
Alya felt arms wrap around her from behind, and she smiled. "I told you. If your load gets too heavy, I'll carry it with you. Even if it's by doing something as simple as babysitting these cute kwamis."
"Thank you Alya, thank you! I don't know what'd I'd do without you."
"I love you too Marinette."

Miraculous Rewrite- The Order's Fall Pt. 2
From here it's the watershed
We start out in the forest, a gentle snowfall beginning to take root. And in a nearby cave along the mountain wall the spark of a fire was built.
We cut to Adrien inside the cave, watching with wide eyes as Bridget builds the fire up. “Woah, we shoulda’ recruited you a LONG time ago Ms. Bridget St Claire.”
Bridget laughs and adds a few sticks to the fire to properly build it up, a pile of thick logs beside her she’s yet to touch. “Why thank you M. Noir. My dad was a bit of a nature nut, we used to go vacationing to Russia all the time for survivalist purposes. You’d be surprised how little places there actually are for nature trails in Western Europe in the modern day.”
“I see…”
“....Do you think the others are okay?” Bridget asks after a pause. “I mean, the Lion did seem sincere, but he was on the other side for a while and-”
“I trust him about as far as I could throw him de-transformed.” Adrien watches the fire, clearly nervous. “But Marinette and Kagami and Kim are all great at what they do. I don’t trust the Lion, but I trust her.” He shakes his head. “Them. I meant them.”
“Mmhm.” Bridget looks down at the fire again. “You know how in the rom coms with the love triangles there’s always a friend that says something like ‘if you find yourself saying ‘I like them both’ you really love neither’ and all that? It’s total bullshit.” Adrien raises a brow and Bridget shrugs at him. “They know, you know, and we’re in enemy territory in an enemy time period, and they’re both in far more danger than we are.”
“...Chloe said the same thing… ish…”
“Apparently she did her research. But anyway, hope you had a nice lunch because I doubt there’s gonna be a lot we could find foraging.”
“And with Tsering Wans till out there it’s not like we could try-”
“By all means children, if you worry about your survival, do follow me.” Both children’s heads dart up and spring to their feet, standing in the mouth of the cave, is a shadowy figure.
“Scorpion. Bridget put on the earrings.”
“But I promised Mari-”
“I’m a leader of Team Miraculous too, Do it. You have MY permission.”
Bridget begins to fumble with her pocket but before she can put the earrings on, the shadow takes a step back. Adrien narrows his eyes in confusion before a broad, heavy hand is placed on his shoulder.
“Is there a problem, Wielder of Vengeance?” an unfamiliar yet equally elderly voice asks from behind Adrien.
“....Intruders Venerable Elder.”
“I see. Well I thank you for bringing my attention to these two at the mouth of the secret exit. I can handle these children from here. Return Misso before she begins to rub off on you, if you would?”
Scorpion looks between the children, then at the elder, before nodding and marching past the lot of them, vanishing into the dark of the cave.
Adrien spins around and sure enough a monk had indeed been the one to place his hand on his shoulder.
“We weren’t trespassing! We were just looking for a place to stay tonight!”
“I understand, child, Please, allow my company for a time. I am called Han Su. Might I know your names?”
“Adrien Agreste-”
“Adrien we’re in Tibet, family name first.” Bridget whispers behind her hand.
“I understand European naming cultures child, not to worry.” Han Su raises a hand with a laugh.
“Oh, then I’m Bridget St Claire.”
“Very nice to meet you both.” Han Su sits in a place beside the fire between Bridget and Adrien. “Now a time ago, a boy just a bit older than you both arrived at our temple with three children your age, a Miss Tsurugi, a sr. Le Chien, and a Ms. Cheng. Despite being keeper of the records I can distinctly recall the Lion, the Dragon, the Monkey, and the Mouse all being accounted for before their arrival. And now I see the two of you with the Ladybug and Cat. Am I wrong?”
Adrien and Bridget share an uncomfortable glance.
“Well… it’s kind of a long story-” Bridget starts
“The Rabbit.” Adrien lies easily. “The Rabbit wielder stranded us here from the future, which is why we have such strange attire as well. Terribly sorry for the inconvenience Master Han, but our friends are trying to find our way back home. We stayed behind as the order in this time hasn’t yet moved its influence onto Europe, and we’d stick out far more than our friends.”
Han Su blinks once before huffing a short laugh. “I must admit, that is surprising. Yet not too surprising.” He reaches behind him and pulls from a pouch hidden amongst his robes a dark wooden treasure chest. “I am glad to know my student was right, and our quest for change is not in vain.”
“Sir?”
“What do you know about a Guardian named Wang Fu, children?”
Fade to black and cue the intro.
When we get back we’re in a darkened corridor, it's some time before dawn, and lighting a candle is that young version of Fu we’ve seen before. He checks over the other side of his room, Tsering Wan, Wu Lian, and Zhao Kai are all asleep in a big pile and he sighs, silently sliding across the threshold of the door and crossing the hall to check up on the ‘new kids’ we don’t see inside that check though, he just checks on them, sighs again and closes the door.
Carefully Young Fu makes his way through the corridors of the children’s building, and outside.
“Xiao Fu?” Fu freezes and spinning around he sees an elder before him, “It’s hours still before the dawn, why are you up and about?”
“I.. uh.. I couldn’t sleep elder, I thought I may as well meditate for a time before the dawn comes.”
“I see.”
“Elder…?” The candle flame finally illuminates the elder’s face and Fu looks confused. “I.. do not recognize you, in this dim light.”
“How bold to state outright Wang Fu. You will know me soon.” he reaches forward and his robes shift, revealing the scorpion medallion hanging from his neck. “Little traitor.”
Fu’s eyes go wide, and the candle’s light goes out when it clatters to the ground.
There’s a shuffling sound, a door opening, and when the elder can relight the candle, the boy is nowhere to be seen. The man lets out a growl, before spinning on his heels and storms back down the hall. “Have it your way, heroes.”
Slowly, the view shifts to one of the bedrooms, Fu being held by someone else, a hand over his mouth, and two figures in front of him, peering out from a crack in the door, before finally closing it all the way, and one of them goes to light a candle to cast the room in a soft glow.
“Sorry ‘bout that, Xiao-Fu right?” The figure behind him says in a soft voice, and the hand finally releases his mouth. “We heard what he was saying… and we may have overreacted.”
“Just a smidge” another figure adds on, Marinette’s familiar voice surprisingly thick with emotion. “We uh… We’re all used to looking out for each other, you know? The most important thing; to look out for each other.” Fu seems to calm down a little.
“We must remain quiet.” Kagami reminds them all quickly. “Don’t forget most here are not like us. They will follow their rules before their own consciences.”
“You three are…different?” Fu asks after a beat. “You see things as they are as well?”
“And as they could be.” Marinette agrees. “Ma-.. Xiao-Fu. We've been brought here in an attempt to change our minds about the state of the order, but we choose to work to improve it, just as you and your master do.”
“R-Really?” Fu’s whole expression lights up, excitement and hope making him beam in the dim light. “Oh! Oh this is wonderful! They must hear us out if we have so many young recruits on our side! Master Han will be so pleased to meet you all! You have to-!... To…” His expression dims, looking to the side. “The elders already know though… That elder he called me a-”
“That wasn’t one of your elders.” Kagami responds with certainty. “He’s an imposter. Here to force the lot of us into compliance.”
“Really creepy guy too.” Kim tacks on. “One of our friends called him out on his bull and he’s been trying to kill her ever since.”
“KILL her? That’s not our way!” Fu responds, aghast. “Even for those who oppose us we never kill!”
“Something tells me he hasn’t been following the way for awhile now.”
“Who is he? We must warn the others before someone gets hurt!” Fu begins to stand, but just as he gets to his feet a bell rings. There’s a short chorus of groans coming from another room and Fu looks around, suddenly very panicked.
“The dawn, they can’t see that I was out!” He darts for the door but for only a moment pauses. “You three should change out of those strange clothes, I'll tell everyone I was getting you some proper robes.”
Fu shut the door.
“So Ts- So scorpion is gonna go straight for Fu now that he’s back here. What a surprise.” Marinette huffs as the door slides open again, Kim taking the offered sets of clothing easily before tossing the small two sets in Marinette and Kagami’s directions and turning his back to either of them as he changes.
Marinette and Kagami follow suit.
“Quite frankly I'm surprised he wasted any time toying with us at all.” Kagami responds dryly. “We should have known he’d go right for Master Fu.”
“Little Fu, would it be right now?” Kim asks from his side of the room. “I mean he IS younger than us. He hasn’t BECOME our master yet.”
“Semantics.” Marinette decides upon. “We need to protect him. Scorpion wants us to surrender, he wants us to feel bad for him so we’ll stop fighting. And you know what? Maybe in some level it’s right, because it DOES suck that this entire place got raised to the ground because nobody could even consider changing or talking it over like fucking adults.” She finishes getting ready and turns around. “But it doesn’t excuse what he’s done And that’s what matters.”
“I frankly don’t hold any sympathy whatsoever.” Kagami agrees. “He was a child when this happened, yes, but it was the failure of the adults in their lives that caused the war, not Fu.”
“Plus, like… He only blamed Fu because there was no one else alive that he could blame, like let’s be real.” Kim adds on. “I’m sure if Fu’s teacher was still alive he’d have blamed him too.”
The door slides open and Wu Lian poles her little head in. “It’s time for Morning duties.”
“Thank you little one.” Marinette chirps with a ‘babysitter voice’ “We’ll be Riiigghhhttt out.”
“Your friend is waiting for you already. Hurry up.” Wu Lian states dryly as she closes the door.
“....Not gonna lie, that's disturbing.” Kim says after a beat. “I cannot be the only one disturbed about the Wolf being so little right now, right? She’s like Tam’s age!”
“It is perturbing to see Tsering Wan as a contemporary I must agree.” Kagami responds, putting Lonng’s choker back around her neck.
“....I mean I’ll live.” Marinette looks nervous and chuckles. “I’ve been more weirded out before.”
There’s a nod between the three of them as they exit.
Sure enough dressed in the same clothes as the lot of them, Sun Min is waiting just outside.
“Ah! My recruits! The Great Guardian hasn’t decided on your tests just yet, so we’re all just gonna get used to the temple for a time! I’ll admit it’s changed quite a lot since I was here.” Sun Min laughs as the three approach, and he leans in after a moment. “There’s some sort of secret exit, we’ve gotta find it and make our way back to Agreste and St Clair.”
“I thought you said we should play along and see what Scorpion’s doing with all of this?”
“We don’t have time. We need to get back. It’s today. Wang Fu’s hearing. Tsering Wan’s going to try and stop it, he’s probably gonna kill him to do it. We need to leave. Now.”
The three nod. But just as they’re about to leave another young voice calls out.
“Hey! New kids!” Little Tsering runs up, huffing and puffing for air, apparently having been pretty far away before doubling back. “Master- uff huff- Master Han will be covering your training. Wielder of Justice you’re -huff huff- The Great Guardian wants to see you.” Tsering wan gestures for the three to follow him, and Kagami looks over at Sun Min, who hesitates for a moment, looking like he’s trying to remember something, before nodding. “Don’t worry, Master Han isn’t scary.”
Marinette doesn’t take her eyes off of Little Tsering as they follow him, clearly looking about a moment’s note away from putting him in a damn chokehold.
But we follow Sun Min as he approaches the main temple. He looks… more than a little nervous, but just as he seems to steel himself over his eyes crack open and peer to the side. “Talking to your younger self? Here I thought you weren’t going to chance causing a paradox.”
“I’m not familiar with the term, Sun Min.”
“You know, interacting with your past self could blow up the world?”
“Hm. I suppose your teacher was too lax in handling you. Manabe should have known better.”
“Don’t drag anyone else into this.”
“You’ve seen our order as its prime, spoken with the elders, had a night to sleep on it, Sun Min. Do you truly have it in you to be a traitor?”
“You have a very loose definition of betrayal, Master Wan.” Sun Min folds his arms. “What was even the point of this plan of yours? To convince me? To convince Ladybug?” He huffs “Oh wait, this wasn’t YOUR plan was it. It was Miss Sancour’s! So it would be Chat Noir to convince! Too bad then-” He pulls out his own Miraculous just as Tsering Wan pulls out the scorpion medallion. “Adrien’s not even here TO convince! You get to Little Fu yet? Or are you waiting for his hearing to end? He has to be marked a traitor before it's forgivable to kill, right?”
“You’re making a mistake Sun Min.”
“I think my biggest mistake was blindly listening to you for so long. Valoor-”
“Don’t cause a scene, child.”
“-Transform me.”
We cut back then to the children, Little Tsering guiding the team through the temple, twisting and turning pathways clearly made as meditation paths, as he’s pretty obviously being stared down by three very suspicious kids about his age.
“Is there a problem?”
“Nope.” “We’re fine.” “Nothing at all.”
Eventually they reach the mouth of a cave. “Master Han prefers his training in absolute darkness, makes for better instinctual responses, so he’ll be right through here.” The three pass by him, but before Marinette does she grabs his arm.
“Miss Cheng?”
“You’re the oldest right? Among the little ones?” He nods. “Be kinder to them. They’re trying just as hard as you are.”
Little Tsering’s brow furrows as he pulls away. “Noted, Miss Cheng.” Marinette lets him go, and Little Tsering huffs in confusion before shaking his head. “She’s lucky I've got things to do today.”
“Tsering! Tsering! Tsering! Tsering!” Sure enough, running down the path in a very similar way Little Tsering had done before Little Fu approached. “Tsering! The elders are saying they want to speak with me, and I don’t know what happened?! Is it something bad? Did you get a council with the elders when you were my age? Am I gonna get kicked out?! I didn’t DO anything!”
Little Tsering huffs and rolls his eyes. “Calm down. It's probably the ‘proper adolescence’ talk. I DID get one a few years ago myself. Don’t worry. They just want you to know about what behaviors are discouraged here. You weren’t raised here, you wouldn’t know.” Tsering looks him up and down, Fu still looks upset, but now embarrassed. “Fine, whatever, come here I'll walk you there.” he throws an arm around Fu’s shoulders in a camaraderie type way.
And watching from the darkness still, Marinette furrows her brow. “It’s weird to think… that they used to-”
“Be anything but bitter enemies?” Kagami huffs back.
“Yeah…”
“Well… are we actually gonna find this Han Su dude or not?” Kim asks further in the cave. “I mean The Lion did say we should be leaving quick as we can-”
“Are you guys okay?” The echo of the cave distorts the sound but soon enough the tamp-tamp of footsteps makes itself apparent and training the corner is a head of blonde hair glimmering in the duim cave light.
“Adrien?!” “Adrien!” “Bridget’s here too girls.”
But Adrien has already zipped over and thrown his arms around either girl’s necks. Kim gets a big wry grin but just as he and Marinette make eye contact and he looks about to Say SomethingTM Bridget and Han Su turn the corner as well. “Oh good, Bridget didn’t get brutally murdered.” he opts for instead.
“Glad to know you care.” Bridget responds evenly. “Everyone, this is Han Su, an elder of the order of Miraculous, and the teacher to a young one named Wang Fu.”
“It’s uhm… it’s very nice to meet you, sir.” Marinette tries, only barely prying herself free from Adrien’s death grip, Kagami afterward easily pulling Adrien off of her.
“It’s wonderful to meet you as well.” Han Su walks up and takes one of Marinette's hands in his own. “Your friend spoke very highly of you and yours, Marinette. To think my Fu could train such an accomplished guardian…”
Marinette’s eyes widen and when she turns to Adrien he meets her eye easily, a choice, not a slip. Marinette nods at him briefly before turning back to Han Su. “Your student became an excellent master, Master Han. He’s… he’s the reason we’ve made it as far as we have.”
“That’s wonderful. I only wish I could have seen him come into his own.” Han Su sighed with a grin. Before, after a moment, it faded. “But we must refocus. You five were sent here against your will, and thus you must return home. Tell me, the Rabbit can only go as far back as its wielder’s personal timeline. Who was the one that sent you all to this time? I can only assume what has been brewing has finally reached its boiling point in regard to the time in question.” Han Su thinks for a moment “Is it soon? The Order will change its ways soon? Is that why you were sent here?”
There’s ‘looks’ traded between the kids before Marinette answers. “Tsering Wan. He didn’t take too well to the direction things went, and uh…”
“Let’s just say that he and the Scorpion Kwami are very good friends nowadays-” Adrien continues.
Han Su looks troubled for a brief moment before he composes himself and takes a deep breath. “That is.. Troubling to say the least. Tsering Wan is one of the most promising of the young ones, he must have made a very powerful warrior indeed to pose such a threat upon turning against us. I can only assume then that he fled from being removed from the order with the virtue of revenge?”
Now it’s Kagami that thinks quickly “Indeed. He’s been causing a ruckus ever since. His vengeance sworn onto his Kwami has sustained his life in a way that Master Fu’s direct exposure to a miracle box had enabled.”
Marinette picks back up “Our… friend… Sun Min is currently in the temple at this time and he’s keeping an eye on things, but I’m starting to get worried. We don’t want to do anything to disrupt the past, but I fear if Sun Min and Tsering Wan run into each other, they’ll cause a ruckus, and that could easily jump the track of fate.”
“If you came back via the Burrow, then you wouldn’t be changing our own experiences. Your past is your own, and you return to your present no matter the changes. The alterations you make create another world. You don’t need to worry about changing the past young one, your memories will remain.” Han Su puts a hand on Marinette’s shoulder, but she, Adrien and Kagami seem to have a minor realization (framed comedically)
“...We’ll unpack that later.” Adrien says after a beat. “Let’s just go stop Tsering Wan and Sun Min from killing each other.”
Comedy cut to Sun Min getting slammed into the ground, parts of the stone beneath cracking and popping up a bit as he hits.
“Your form is weak, sloppy. You move without thinking and strike without calculation.” Tsering Wan strides up, but Sun Min swipes his leg out as he hits the ground.
“You’re trying to sound like a teacher so no one will stop you!”
“I AM a teacher. It’s hardly my fault some students refuse to LEARN.” Tsering Wan takes out the spear at the same time Sun Min draws the knuckles. But just as the two seem about to make impact, a Shelter gets in the way, a huge wide wall shelter instead of the bubble we’re used to.
“What?!” Tsering Wan looks around, clearly looking for a certain someone, but the first spot of green he seeks out is Han Su, wearing the turtle himself. “My brother, I understand the height of passion, but we do not train the young ones with our weapons. It’s not the way.” Han Su places a hand on Tsering Wan’s shoulder and seems kind of sympathetic to him. Tsering Wan’s gaze darts to the hand, then back to Han Su, and seems a strange mix between perplexed and furious. But just as he reached for Han Su’s hand, to likely remove it, There’s movement in the corner of his eye and when he turned Sun Min has been joined by the rest of the team.
“What did you intend to accomplish here?” Sun Min asks quietly. “We all know how the story goes. And so do you. So why bother trying to change it?”
“Because he was young, very young, little lion.” Han Su responds for him. He shifts his grip on Tsering Wan’s shoulder, and seems to try and appeal to him. “A very traumatic and confusing thing happened in his youth and he simplified it in terms of black and white as to make it process in his mind better. But that doesn’t mean it's too late. All that must be done is to return you all to your time and you may all work this out as one. The Order will understand why our friend has gone astray and-”
“...Why I’VE gone astray?” Thaaatttt was probably the worst thing he could have said. Tsering Wan’s expression hardens over into offence and fury. “Is THAT what they’ve told you?! That I’M the one who turned from our ways?!”
The dark brown energy of the scorpion quickly mixes with the well familiar by now black energy of the Akuma as in his rage, Tsering Wan opens another void, this one in the sky. The wind whips and the trees shake as pieces of stone begin to crumble. “This was a false world! This entire setup was false!” Tsering Wan shouts over the din. “The powers I was given did not return me to the world as it was but how those who descended first would see it. These CHILDREN wanted to be the ones justified so they are! But this is not the Order of my youth nor is it the order as it is now.” He takes out the spear and swipes at Han Su, who is barely able to dodge. “And I will not let this farce stay on this mountain for even a second’s more time!”
“Great, this again.” Kim mutters. But just as the others intend on trying to overwhelm Tsering Wan, another comes in. The blade of the spear hitting the space between the blade and handle of a sickle. A younger monk, appearing somewhere in his 30s or so, intercepted them, his uniform black and white and Miraculous a bicep band curled around his upper arm.
“Elder you must think! Your mind has been compromised from overexposure to Misso!” The young man tries, but Tsering Wan throws him off of him and into the Shelter wall with ease. But soon one by one other warrior class wielders are coming toward Tsering Wan, wielding Miraculous we haven’t seen, some trying to save their less able elders and brothers from being sucked into the portal, others ready to neutralize the threat.
“Someone get to the Great Guardian, the temple cannot fall!” Han Su shouts just as the spear clashes against the shield. However, just as it seems Tsering Wan is about to gain the upper hand against Han Su in particular, the string of a yoyo wraps around his wrist and causes his arm to go wide.
Bridget looks uncomfortable in the Ladybug suit, but her outfit is summarily different to how it was in the Bad Future. “Didn’t… didn’t your mommy ever tell you to be careful with sharp things?”
This Bridget was Nimh first. This Bridget was a member of the Order of Miracles.
“You think a little Ladybug can stop me?” Tsering Wan all but sneers, and Bridget finally adopts a small smirk, and the man stops.
“Whoever said I was Ladybug?” She counters, and her posture shifts, and with the force of someone who worked with a jump rope for a weapon, flings him against the Shelter hard enough to crack the surface ever so slightly before the man can register the shift. “I’m...uh… Henten Akai!”
“How cute. A little mouse thinks herself a Ladybug.” Tsering Wan counters, he smirks, glances at the wire binding his arm and plucks the length. “Vengeance.” Dark brown energy releases the wire from his arm and travels down the length of it until it reaches Henten Akai, wrapping itself around her own arm in turn. Tsering Wan gives it a sharp pull and she’s flung off of her feet, but just as he reaches to grab the rapidly flying forward girl, Henten Akai smirks and grabs his arm in her own.
Y’all remember that trick Adiren and Marinette pulled on Tsering Wan aaaaalll the way back in The Scorpion?
A dozen Multimice dart from their connected limbs and Begin, not trying to fight, but searching for his Akuma object. Every little Multimouse pulling at accessories and seeing which ones come off or not.
“You-! You little!”
“Ryuuko! Whip up a storm!” Chat calls out as he pole vaults over the Shelter still between most of the heroes and Tsering Wan.
“With pleasure. Stormbreaker!” Kagami once again turns into the wind, this time without intent to go inside, but begins spiralling around the vortex, in the opposite direction as the wind itself, going faster and faster, and slowly the sucking power of the wind begins to let up as its cancelled out.
“Roi, try to bottleneck that vortex! See if you can get it to stop being so.. You know!”
“Vortex-y Got it! Uproar!” a small keychain with a smiling chibi monkey grins up at Roi Singe, who grins back before jumping as high as he could, throwing the keychain directly into the portal. Before we see the result we follow back with Chat who has fallen beside Sun Min and the two begin to make swipes for Tsering Wan.
“Chat here!” One of the Multimice throws up a small charm that hangs from Tsering Wan’s Spear, and Chat snaps it in half.
“Nothing Mousinette!”
“Damn!”
When she finds the next loose article, the spear ITSELF, she searches for the black cat, but finds only a Lion waving, and though hesitant, she throws it at him. “GO LONG!”
Sun Min grins, and smashes the staff between his brass knuckles. The Akuma releases.
Tsering Wan makes a grab for the Spear before it shatters, but has to pull away as he gets near Henten Akari and she makes a swipe for his medallion. And he backs right up into another young figure, who grabs his arm and quickly spins him around, pinning it to his back.
The Akuma is Purified, but Henten Akari is stopped by Multimouse from releasing the Miraculous Cure.
“My lady?” Chat asks quietly, placing a hand on her shoulder. “Is something wrong?”
“No just… It’s fine. Just wait… a moment longer, I want to check on something.”
She darts away and vanishes into the temple proper. Chat seems to realize what she's doing because he takes off after her. “Miracle Cure should be still working for another hour or so, just give us like ten minutes!” He calls out to Henten Akari.
Chat quickly catches up with Multimouse and the two start to search for a certain room in the temple.
“What are we looking for?”
“Probably a large room with lots of dais for the Miracle boxes” But then there was the faintest sound and the two creep for the entryway. Sure enough behind a large yet simple door there was a large room with dais’ for multiple Miracle Boxes. All of which having the same treasure chest design that the Miracle Box Han Su held had.
“No! I’m sure I heard something!”
“Elder we may investigate in a moment’s time but we must consider what is in front of us. Wang Fu, your thoughts as a member of this order have been heard. But as the Order of Miraculous, we have a set of rules that must be obeyed.”
“The rules must change! Great Guardian I mean no disrespect, but is it not the very nature of the universe itself to change? If we as an Order continue to shut ourselves off and blind our eyes to the world around us, we become complicit in atrocities and cruelties that were otherwise unprecedented when the rules were made! We have a chance to aid those who are being treated with cruelties in systems that were made to be cruel! We could change everything for the better!”
“And are you so aware of what would be better, young Fu?” The Great Guardian asks. “Are you so sure that you would lead others down a path that could lead to yet more untold cruelty with it? Your arrogance besets your age, child.”
“And yours besets your cowardice!” Fu snaps back. The Great Guardian appears unshaken, merely raising a brow at him, but Fu instantly pales.
“Hm. Perhaps we were too hasty in allowing you to continue your training. Though it’s far too late now.” The Great Guardian folds his arms and thinks for a moment. “There is no changing your mind. Not truly, if you were allowed to continue on you would no doubt deceive us into thinking your heart changed while you defy our teachings behind closed doors.” Fu shakes his head and takes a step back, and Adrien looks about to go in there, but Marinette grabs his arm. She shakes her head.
“On the coming dawn, Wang Fu shall be removed from the Order and sent on his way.” The Great Guardian decides with a nod. ”Inform Han Su of his student’s removal as to ensure a lack of miscommunication.”
Adrien is about to charge in again, but Marinette tugs at his arm, trying to pull him away, and with one last glare in the direction of the room, Adrien follows. Good thing too, as just as they turn the corner the doors open and Fu is being restrained by an elder while another walks out with great urgency.
But we keep following Marinette and Adrien as they curve through hallways and down corridors until Adrien stops them both in a darkened corridor, far from the natural daylight. “Marinette! Wait, hold on!” Marinette stops once he tugs back on her arm. But she doesn’t turn to him. “This isn’t the right way.”
“...Oh? I didn’t notice, sorry I got turned around.” She still isn’t turning, and Adrien looks… kind of upset now. “I’m sure if we just follow the sun we’ll find the-”
“Why are you okay with this?”
Marinette pauses, she’s still not looking at him. “...What do you mean, Adrien?”
“THIS! We went back in time! Met our mentor! Were given PROOF that time travel doesn’t change our own stories which means the Bad future we saw still happened! AND THEN you wouldn’t even let me keep THIS Fu from suffering! With the Great Guardian and the elders against Master Fu the War is still going to happen! He’s still going to lose all his friends and almost kill Tsering Wan making SCORPION exist! He’s gonna blame himself for Like a hundred seventy years or whatever for the WHOLE thing!”
“-And he’ll meet Marianne, and us.” Marinette’s vice sounds weak.
“And My father and Nathalie will get the Peacock and the Butterfly!” Adrien counters. “Why are you okay with this?!”
“I’M NOT!” Marinette finally turns and Adrien can see the tears welling in her eyes. “I’M NOT OKAY WITH IT ADRIEN! I’M NOT OKAY WITH A LOT OF THINGS!” She gestures widely as she paces back and forth. “I’m Not okay with us being down a Miracle Box! I’m not okay with the enemy knowing our identities! I’m not okay with being DEAD in the bad future! I’m not okay with MASTER FU being GONE and We didn’t even get to say GOODBYE! And I'm NOT OKAY with Kagami having to step up and be a third leader because I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M DOING! And I’m not okay with constantly getting between you two and I’m not okay with the fact that I AM okay with Chloe dating my ex and I’m not okay with Sun Min, and I’m not okay with the idea that we couldn’t have changed the Great Guardian’s mind about Fu! ” She chokes on a sob and scrubs angrily at her eyes. “I am NOT ‘Okay’ with this, Adrien.”
Adrien of course is full Instant Regret about being mad, and reaches out before hesitating, like he doesn’t know what to do. “I’m always tired, and always stressed and Alya and Kagami feel like they need to solve everything themselves, and Chloe still blames herself for losing the Miracle Box, I’m pretty sure Luka has PTSD, Amber hasn’t processed ANYTHING about her trauma in regards to her mother, Nino’s been getting worse mentally since his father showed up, Kim’s still freaking out about being dead in the Bad Future, Alix keeps trying to jump headfirst into fights, and Max feels like he doesn’t contribute anything to the group.”
“And you’re already dealing with WAY too much for me to put any of that on your shoulders.” she finally surmises. “It’s… it’s a lot, Adrien. It’s just a lot. And I'm not… I’m not asking you to ignore your own shit for me, I’d never do that to you, but-”
“PLEASE tell me to ignore my own shit to help you, Marinette.” He finally speaks up here, taking Marinette’s upper arms in his grasp and leading the both of them to sit down. “I’m begging you Marinette. Please trust that no matter WHAT shit I’m going through that I will ALWAYS pick helping you over stewing in my own self pity.” He squeezes her arms briefly, making damn well sure she’s looking at him. “We’ve been relying on each other since day one, and I’ll admit, for a long while there I wasn’t a good partner. I was so blinded by this fairytale definition of ‘love’ that I went absolutely crazy over it. I put you on a pedestal no person could EVER live up to, but that’s what got me to understand.” He removed one hand from her arm to cup her cheek gently.
“I didn’t understand what it meant back then, but I do now.”
“I love you. I really, truly do. No Akumas messing with my perception. And I'm not gonna lie, I think I might still also be in love with Kagami so that might complicate things a bit, but that doesn’t mean I’m lying right now. Okay? I love you, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, and I will do ANYTHING you need me to to lighten the load you’ve taken onto yourself. No matter if you feel the same, if you still have feelings for Luka, or if you love Kagami or Alya, or Kim, or Chloe or no one at all. That doesn’t matter to me. I love you. And no matter WHAT I’m going to be there for-!”
Marinette cuts him off by hastily pressing her lips to his.
We hold for just a moment before Marinette pulls away, scrubbing at her eyes and, looking more relieved than she has all season, laughing. “You’re so dramatic, Chaton.” She places her own hands on Adrien’s shoulders, and grins at him. “Truth be told, I think the whole Kagami thing won’t be an issue. That is, if you don’t mind sharing.”
Adrien doesn’t respond though, it seems as though Adrien.exe has stopped running, face bright red and staring at Marinette blankly. He sincerely didn’t expect that to happen it seems like.
But the shock passes quickly, and he blinks. “Oh! You mean it? You too?”
Marinette nods, cheeks pink. “We gotta-”
“-We should talk to Kagami once we’re back in our time.” they say at once.
“Should we head back out?”
“Bridget should still be transformed, we can just call her.”
“...One more minute then?” Marinette blinks but just as she asks why he brings her close for another kiss.
We cut away to the temple at large, and-
“Miraculous Ladybug!”
We cut to black.
But before we end for the mid season finale there’s a post credits sequence.
Ladybugs are just finishing sweeping the land of Paris back in the modern day, the vortex spits out the missing heroes, turncoat and villain, and everyone does the equivalent of looking at each other awkwardly for a moment before leaving.
But we only see them for a moment, because we see a portal closing just then on the scene, and an indigo suited turncoat hitting the ground with a brown gloved hand gripping at the peacock.
“Nice to meet you, M. Agreste.” Pegasus chirps. “My friends just got their identities exposed, but I didn’t. I have some questions about your mansion, specifically, the security systems. My team has a Miracle Box to recover.”
Episode end.

Tim’s Secret Weapon Pt.9
I’ve been slightly obsessed with @ozmav ‘s Damian Wayne/Marinette Dupain-Cheng pairing as of late, and just saw a post that has inspired me more than anything else has in months, so I felt the need to write it
Summary- Tim has always seen the numbers floating above people’s heads, been able to perceive their threat levels with a single glance. After being a hero for so long he thought he was desensitized to seeing high numbers above people’s heads until Damian brings a new friend home.
Part 1
Part 8
Part 9 (HERE)
Part 10
This will probably be the last update for awhile, I start student teaching this coming week and I’m nervous as all hell right now
____________________________________________
It took a good twenty minutes to calm down the Miraculous Team, during which Max had changed back and needed to feed his Kwami, Kaalki, before changing back.
Tim mentally edited his profile for the Horse hero, while his brother's teased the teenagers.
Max ????- Baskerville Font Deep Golden 13, Codenamed- Pegasus. Kwami- Kaalki, the Horse. Main Power- Voyage. Time limit of Ten Minutes after using Voyage before Forced Detransformation.
He’d need to ask later if this time limit existed for the other heroes as well. He was also going to have to hack Collège Françoise Dupont’s register to complete these kid’s profiles apparently.
The other heroes offered to detransform as well, but Ladybug suggested they wait until after the meeting Bruce had set up as they only had minutes before he told the other heroes to connect.
“Ready?” Bruce asked as he pulled on his cowl, the domino masks quickly being tossed to the correct brother as the Paris heroes exchanged looks.
“Nope,” Bunnyx answered as she flopped down into her seat next to Viperion, “let’s get this started,”
The Heros of Paris all held hands as they sat on the side of the Conference table that the active camera couldn't see. The Batfamily sat across from them with Batman at the head of the table as he opened the video call.
“Hey Bats,” Flash greets as the founders all joined the video chat, “What’s with the emergency meeting?”
“This is highly unusual for you, Batman,” Superman added, “Should we be heading for the Zeta tubes?”
“While urgent,” Batman answered, eyes narrowed, “What I’m about to say isn’t exactly time-sensitive, but it is dire that we come up with a plan to assist soon.”
Green Lantern raised an eyebrow, “That doesn’t sound good.”
Marinette could feel her team growing restless around her from beyond the view of the camera. After so long trying and failing to reach out, this was their chance to end things. Seeing Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter so close nearly made her heartbeat straight out of her chest.
It was unreal…How much had her world view shifted in the last twelve hours? The blunder of a Billionaire that more closely resembled a zombie gorilla then human if woken up before 8 am was THE Batman, The nearly thirty-year-old police officer that still thought Captain Crunch was a suitable dinner was Nightwing, the man who tried to sneak in and steal macarons out of the oven only to pout when he burned himself was Red Hood, the much too young CEO who routinely did his paperwork in green crayon to anger those filing it was Red Robin, and oh not to mention her boyfriend who had sworn her into secrecy after crying during Tangled was the latest Boy Wonder.
“Paris has been under attack for nearly four years,” Dick answered from where he sat directly to Bruce’s right, “They’ve been fighting the threat alone, despite the villains' potential. to destroy the world.”
The seasoned heroes all stiffened.
Martian Manhunter was the first to speak, “What is the threat and who are these heroes?”
“A villain known as Hawkmoth rose to power almost four years ago,” Batman told them, “He has the power to control those that express intense negative emotions and give them powers of varying intensity. Ladybug and Chat Noir have been fighting him back since he first-”
“Did you just say Ladybug and Chat Noir?” Wonder Woman cut him off, “Do you perchance mean the Ladybug of Creation and the Black Cat of Destruction?”
All eyes were on the princess as she stared down Batman. He didn’t move but Marinette could feel his eyes flickering past the camera and towards her, letting her make a move if she wanted to.
She hesitated before clicking the button Red Robin had given her to enter into the video call, “Yes. That is exactly what he meant.”
Wonder Woman’s eyes flew open wide as she saw the bright red outfit, arms snapping in front of her, crossed at the wrists, head bowed, “My Lady!”
Marinette cocked her head to the side, confused, “There’s no reason to call me my lady, honestly you just sound like Chat. I’m surprised that any of the League knew of the miraculous.”
Diane lowered her hands, looking up once more, “As you wish Ladybug, and every Amazon know the tales of Ladybug. After all, my mother once wore your earrings and held your mantle with Herakles as her Μαύρη γάτα.”
Ladybug broke into a smile, “Hippolyta… Tikki has told me stories of past users, Πασχαλίτσα was one of my favorites to learn about.”
“Woah, Woah, Woah!” Flash waved his hands frantically, “Are we saying that she’s on par with your mother?!”
“Now I won’t-”
Diane cut her off, “Yes. All of Themyscira would follow a ladybug into battle as willingly as they follow my mother, their Queen.”
The young heroine blushed as Chat, Bunnyx, King Monkey and Abeille laughed, Viperion Pegasus and Ryuko smiling at the shocked faces on the League’s faces.
“ Good to know my Lady is so highly respected,” Chat finally spoke up leaning into frame from her right. Marinette sighed, honestly surprised he remained quiet this long. Silently she clicked the button that made the camera pan out to bring her entire side of the conference table into view.
“As I’m sure you guessed,” She said to the gathered heroes, “I am Ladybug, and this is my partner Chat Noir. The other members of our permanent team are Abeille, the Bee of Subjection, Ryuko, the Dragon of Power, and Viperion, the Snake of Chance. On our reserve team is Pegasus, the Horse of Teleportation, King Monkey, the Monkey of Jubilation, and Bunnyx, the Rabbit of Time.”
Wonder Woman looked worried, “So many active, your war must be devastating.”
Abeille scowled, “Paris would have been nothing but bloody rubble within a month had Ladybug not had her Miraculous cure. Hawkmoth, Butterfly of Transmission, and Mayura, Peacock of Emotion, have been attacking us for almost four years at this point trying to take Ladybug’s and Chat Noir’s miraculous, and our requests for help from the League have been ignored up until this point.”
“Requests?” Superman questioned as the elder heroes all stiffened, “What requests?”
The Paris team gave them skeptical looks.
“You’re kidding right?” Chat Noir asked slowly, “My Lady and I sent probably two dozen requests for aid since we were given our miraculous before being sent what might as well have been a cease and desist request that was just signed from the league because it was thought that everything that had leaked out of the city had just been fancy video editing and CGI. How could you guys not know?”
“As one of the main reviewers of requests,” Manhunter replied monotoned even as his jaw clenched, “I never saw any of these messages.”
“Yeah man,” Green Lantern added, “Neither did I, and I help out a lot up in communications when I’m not out on business. Plus we’ve never sent out a ‘stop calling us’ message before.”
“Well someone had to reject us,” Pegasus argued, “Logically speaking it has to be someone from the League as the other option is an unknown individual hacked into the League’s database and the only detectable thing they did was delete the messages from Paris.”
“I don’t care who it was, Find them,” Robin growled, white knuckles clutching his katana hilt, “I wish to disembowel them.”
“You will not.” Ladybug’s voice was low and pointed, “Not only have we handled ourselves well, but I won’t condone infighting just because someone messed up. I don’t care who rejected us at this point, Paris has a strong team protecting it and the League is lending us their help now, something that might have been detrimental a few years ago.”
“Detrimental?” Wonder Woman questioned, a twinge of hurt in her voice, “How would the League of been detrimental?”
Flash scratched the back of his head, “Yeah, how would The League being in Paris be bad, kid?"
“Pfft,” Bunnyx just laughed, “Geez, Kids? Could you guys be more condescending? It’s not like we’re seasoned heroes in our own right by now or anything.”
Ryuko's gaze flicked over all of them, “Your trust in us is lacking because of our age, but you want to give us a chance to show you how we operate since we have been taking care of our city. During our battle today the entirety of the Batfamily was watching us from the shadows and yet never felt like they needed to intervene with a team that already works efficiently with each other, yet you still question us.”
“You saw us?” Jason asked a little startled, “Damn Onna-bugeisha, you’re sharp,”
The girl smiled softly, “I appreciate the praise, however, I would suggest not wearing a large bright red bucket on your head next stealth mission. I was already on the lookout for red so it made spotting you and your family easy.”
Dick snorted, “Told you your helmet wasn’t slick,”
Jason just glared and shot back, “Discowing,”
“We’re not speaking of that atrocity. I’m going to need eye bleach to forget it already,” Marinette shuttered before becoming serious again, “The point we were trying to make is that I and my team have your trust. With Wonder Woman, Batman and his team speaking for us, you respect our claim to protecting Paris and the fact that we are the most knowledgeable people when it comes to Miraculous and our villains. Would we hold that same respect in your eyes if you arrived when Chat and I only held our miraculous for a few months? When we were inexperienced and improvising? Or would you have swooped in here with promises to fix things while shoving us to the side, upsetting us to the point where we might have been akumatized because of how little say we were given in protecting our city and stopping the villain that threatened our friends and families?”
The league heroes all shifted a little uneasy. The girl had a point.
Inexperienced heroes had to earn the League’s respect through hard work and proving their worth, something that could have left them open to akumatiation, giving the villain exactly what he wanted.
“Another thing,” Ladybug added eyes scanning over their faces with a serious glare, “This is our city and we have experience with the villains here and what to avoid. With that said, I believe the only members of the Founding Justice League I would trust to be in Paris before Hawkmoth and Mayra are relieved of their miraculous are Batman, Martian Manhunter, and The Flash.”
“What!” Green Lantern yelped, but the Paris team all nodded in understanding.
“Ooh Yeah,” King Monkey cringed, “The last thing I want to do is face an akumatized Wonder Woman.”
“Dude, you’d be the only one safe from an evil Green Lantern,” Bunnyx groaned, “Can you imagine the damage? It’d be like Mr. Mime on Steroids!”
Viperion turned to Pegasus and asked, “If Superman got akumatized what is the likelihood that Luck Charm would just give us a chuck of Kryptonite?”
“Considering she’s dating a Bat,” The younger man started ignoring the bugging eyes of the League, “There is a higher chance that it will just give her an indication to use Voyage to retrieve him and the kryptonite he no doubt possesses. On the 17.85% chance, it gives us Kryptonite, I’d be worried about using it as all of the Lucky Charms are red and black. Red Kryptonite usually causes a bloodlust, or uncontrollable rage in Kryptonians, while Black causes the being to be split into a good and an evil version of themselves.”
“Soooo,” Bunnyx draws out, “Use Uproar to take their powers away, then the kryptonite so that we just have too really angry dudes fist fighting each other in the middle of Paris?”
Pegasus nods, “Yes that plan holds an 85% chance of working should we be put into that situation.”
Batman just rubbed the bridge of his nose, “Should I ask where you learned so much about Kryptonite?”
“No.” The Paris team chorused.
The Martian looked intrigued, “Back to the original statement, May I acquire what sets us apart from the others so much that you’d be willing to accept our help but not theirs?”
“Easy,” Chat answered, smirking slightly at the flustered looks that still remained on the rejected heroes faces, “Hawkmoth and Mayra prey on negative emotions, whether that’s anger, frustration, fear, sadness, or disgust. The more powerful the emotion the stronger the Akuma or Amok is that we have to face is. Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern are known for using their emotions as strength during a fight.”
“What about Flash?” Green Lantern barked, looking miffed, “The dude isn't exactly Mister Stoic."
"Oh Oh!” King Monkey had his hand raised above his head, “I’ll take this one!”
“Go ahead King,” Ladybug offered with a bemused look.
The Burly teen grinned up at the monitor, “We’ve found there are two great ways to keep from falling into Hawkmoth’s hands, thought considering everyone but Ladybug has been akumatized at least once this is mostly through trial and error. We’ve come to realize that either you need to be like Ladybug, Pegasus, and Ryuko, confident and professional to the point you don’t have time to let negative emotions, and how Chat and I deal with it and it’s probably the same way Flash deals with the horrors I’m betting all of you deal with on a biweekly basis, if not more.”
The speedster gave a tired smile, “An over cheerful, bantering mask?”
Chat clicked his tongue and shot duel finger guns at the monitors, “Bingo Bongo,”
Abeille rolled her eyes, as Ladybug smacked him lightly over the head, “Nerd.”
King just smiled wider, “Yup! We flirt, we banter, we joke around with our partners and the villains, cause it makes it easier for us to deal with after we're out of danger.”
Superman’s eyes grew a little far away, “You pretend not to take things seriously?”
Chat shrugged, “I mean kinda? It’s more like knowing that if everyone was serious then it would start wearing on us. We’re all people, we can’t stay serious 100% of the time, plus I know that when I crack puns the other may groan but their attacks are a little less sloppy, My lady may say she hates it when I call her Bugaboo, but it pulls her away from a bad headspace and helps her focus. It’s just our way of dealing with the dangers we face.”
“The Heart of the Team,” Batman spoke with a heavy reverence that had each of the seasoned heroes looking over the Paris group with understanding.
“Alright,” Green Lantern sighed, “Supes, Wonder Woman and I will stay out, but why don’t you explain what’s happening exactly in Paris. What is this Hawkmoth guy after anyways? What’s his end goal?”
Ladybug’s eyes grew hard as her team straightened around us, “His goal is to obtain the Ladybug of Creation’s earrings, and the Black Cat of Destruction's ring. Whoever possesses both shall have unimaginable power, and the ability to grant one wish by rewriting the very essence of reality.”
Flash let out a low whistle, “Wow, and his wish is lovely I’m sure.”
Chat’s voice was soft, but held immense weight, “His wish could be of pure intentions and goodwill, but it doesn’t matter, because the balance must be maintained and the price is always much more destructive then one can ever imagine.”
Ladybug nodded in agreement to her partner before taking over, “An Italian father wished for his family to never know sickness like that that took his sister from him when he was young, to live long happy lives free of sickness. The wish came true and nothing worse then a cold touched the family, even today, but three days after the wish was made the first ship that was contaminated with the Black Plague landed in Italy.”
“A teenager, whose homeland was riddled with war and bloodshed,” Chat chimed in again, even as the surrounding group looked sick, “He wanted for the fighting to stop, for his parents to not have to risk themselves anymore to keep their city safe, for him not to have to take up the blade in only a few short years. His wish was granted the fighting stopped and he no longer had to worry about his family dying to senseless war… because his entire city, the city of Atlantis had sunk into the sea, almost two-thirds of the population perishing as the last third realized they had an unknown ability to breathe underwater and survive the harsh conditions of the sea.”
Aquaman looked uneasy, “So much damage for such simple wishes?”
Chat just nodded, “Balance needs to be maintained, and each wish is a lesson in human’s foolish nature to try and fix the universe for their own needs and wants. The simple truth of the matter is no lesson is painless. Even the Kwamis can’t change that.”
____________________________________________
“Why don’t we head to my hotel?” Abeille asked as she stretched. The call to the League had drawn to a close leaving the teens mentally exhausted but giddy, “That way we don’t need to transform again, and we can just tell our parents that we were hanging out in my room instead of each coming up with a cover story. The fact that the Waynes are also staying there just makes it easier for us.”
“Good idea,” Ladybug agreed, “But I want to remind all of you are under no obligation to share your identity if you don’t want to, Red Robin won’t share it with the others even if they ask.”
“I knew Bruce’s identity for like 6 years before I broke into the cave and asked to be Robin. I think I can manage not to spill your secrets” He revealed with a little laugh as his family gave him strained looks.
The Paris heroes laughed before Pegasus, asked for the room they were staying at, quickly opening a portal.
Alfred simply raised an eyebrow, “Well, I expect the meeting went well then?”
Marinette flopped onto the couch with a groan as her transformation fell away, “You guys were not exaggerating with how much of a boy scout Superman is!”
Jason snorted as the other Paris heroes agreed, “Yeah Supes always had a stick up his rear, but J’onn is looking forward to meeting you guys, the dude doesn’t get off the Watchtower much.”
“Maybe he’ll bring M’gann,” Dick suggested, “She always loves meeting new heroes, and I’m sure she and Supey would love to talk magic.”
“Change first,” Bruce ordered, ushering his children back towards the main bedroom, “Then we can hash out anything else we wish tonight.”

Tim shrugged, “The miraculous mess with my power so I can’t see your number while you’re transformed so yes. I haven’t figured out a thing about you yet.”
“Well,” Viperion hummed a sly grin as he leaned into The older hero’s space, “I’m not going to give you an easy answer then, Bird boy.”
Tim couldn’t help the indignant huff, “Bird Boy? I’m older than you!”
“Hmmm,” The smirking snake just served to make the other Bat’s share a look at the display, “Well, Bird Boy. Let’s see how fast you can find me,”
“It’s Red Robin-”
“Yumm~”
Tim’s cheeks burned as his brothers, Chat Noir, Bunnyx, and King Monkey cackled behind him, the other heroes hiding smiles. The younger hero finally pulled back and leaped out of the window and disappearing into the night with a final wink at the stunned hero.
"Looks like you're following in B's footsteps," Dick teased clapping his shoulder, causing the others to laugh harder as Tim tried desperately to find his tongue.

Two For Two Chapter 2: Stargazing
Alya and the gang react to the first sightings of Dragonbug and Snake Noir.

Enjoy!
First Chapter | Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
Read on Ao3
Marinette jolted when Alya dropped her bag on the desk. In the silence of the mostly empty library, it had been especially unexpected. As the three of them looked at her, she simply grinned back, excitement clear on her face.
“Have you guys checked out the Ladyblog lately?”
Nino tugged down his cap, Adrien rubbed the back of his neck, and Marinette suddenly became very interested in her notebook. Naturally, they all tried to support her blog but Alya was a force to be reckoned with. Blog posts came out too frequently for them to read.
“Chill, guys, this isn’t an interrogation.” Alya sat down beside Marinette and pushed up her glasses. “But you’ve got to check this one out.” She pulled her phone out of her pocket, quickly brought something up on it and pushed it toward them. “Look!”
Marinette craned her neck. Her eyes widened when she saw a few dark pictures of her and her partner on patrol. Except at that moment, it wasn’t Ladybug and Chat Noir.
“Woah!” Nino whistled appreciatively. “That’s pretty legit. They sorta look like LB and the cat man, but with even snazzier suits.”
There was a moment of confusion before Marinette remembered this was probably the first time anyone had seen Dragon Bug and Snake Noir. Their only other outing had been in the big fight against Hawkmoth, but the entire city had been mind controlled at once. There wasn’t anyone paying attention or taking pictures besides their enemies during that fight.
“What I want to know is why they’re taking on two at once,” Alya said, frowning at the picture. “If they’re doing this now, what does that mean for the heroes we see every now and again?”
Alya glanced meaningfully at Nino. Adrien’s eyes widened, no doubt sympathizing with the part time heroes. But he didn’t even know the half of it.
Only Marinette and Chat Noir knew the truth - that Hawkmoth had unmasked all the other heroes. They would never get to use the miraculous again.
“I’m sure they have a reason,” Adrien said quietly, his fingers tapping against the table.
“Yeah! And I bet that Ladybug will fill them in sooner or later.”
“We’d better hope she does it soon then, girl.” Alya shook her head as she looked across the room to where Chloe was studying. Or, more accurately, where Sabrina was doing the studying for her while she polished her nails. “Otherwise, queeny over there might just flip her lid. And she gets really annoying when she’s an akuma.”
You’re more right than you know, Marinette thought to herself as she glared at Chloe.

Summary: Kagami and Adrien skate together, and the special guest arrives.
Word Count: 2644 | Chapter 2/3
XXX
“Woah, it’s pretty dark in here. Are you sure Phillipe said it was okay to come?” Adrien asked as the doors creaked open.
It was black as pitch inside. If Nino hadn’t shown her the process photos of their decorations, she might have believed the rink was deserted.
“I’ve never lied to you,” Kagami replied. Her ice skates clinked where they hung over her shoulder. “Come on, let’s get that ridiculous wig off.”
“What? Is blue not my color?” He grinned. It was insufferably cute, even if Kagami now knew the affection she felt for him wasn’t romantic.
She pulled the wig off and tossed it aside. That was the signal she and Nino had agreed upon.
Suddenly the rink bust into light. Lasers of red and green glinted off the giant disco ball Wayhem had managed to hang at the top of the dome. Normal fluorescent bulbs flashed to life as well, illuminating the crowd that had gathered in the stands around the rink.
“Happy birthday, Adrien!” All of his friends shouted in echoing cacophony.
Kagami’s focus stayed trained on Adrien as realization dawned over him. His wide eyes took in everyone grinning at him—Nino in the back by his DJ equipment, Alya waving from closer by, Wayhem charging up to be the first to greet him.
“You… you guys threw me a birthday party?”
“It is your birthday, isn’t it?” Kagami laughed before taking his skates. “I’ll hold on to these for now. Go say hello to everyone.”
Before she knew it, Adrien’s arms were flinging around her.
“Thank you, Kagami. I know how much work this must have taken to put together.”
She relaxed in his embrace, hugging him back.
“You know you’re precious to us. If you want to thank anyone, it’s Nino who’s the mastermind.”
“I’m not surprised. He’s brilliant.” Adrien pulled back, only to give her a quick bisous. “I know you were involved too. Please, let me thank you.”
“O-of course, Adrien.”
They shared one last smile before Wayhem practically tackled him.
“Adrien! It’s so good to see you, man!”
Kagami backed away as the crowd advanced. Even after all this time, large groups were difficult for her to navigate. It was more than worth it to see Adrien so happy, though.
After hugs and bisous were exchanged all around, Nino kicked on the stereo.
“Alright, homies! Who’s ready to get out there and break the ice?”
He played Friday I’m in Love—one of Adrien’s favorite songs—as everyone who wanted to laced up their skates and filed onto the rink.
“Please, you won’t catch me down in that cesspit.” Chloé tossed her ponytail.
“Aww, but it would be fun, Chloé!” Her red-haired friend—Sabrina, if Kagami recalled correctly—smiled up at her pleadingly. She already had a pair of turquoise skates on. “If you fall, I’ll catch you!”
“Quiet!” Chloé pressed a hand to her mouth. “Do you want everyone to know I can’t skate?”
“Considering you just announced it, I doubt you will keep it a secret.” Kagami’s eyes narrowed. Nino might trust Chloé now, but it was difficult to forgive someone who had abused Adrien’s friendship for so long.
“I bet you’re a professional figure skater, aren’t you,” Chloé muttered.
“No. Skating is just a hobby. But I could help teach you, if you would like.”
Kagami might not trust Chloé, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t be civil. Besides, she’d been wrong about a few of Adrien’s friends before.
Chloé blinked a few times. “You would—? I mean, thanks, but no. I need to make sure the media doesn’t catch us here, anyway. It’s the most important job, you know.”
“Of course. Perhaps another time then.” She dipped her head.
“That would be… nice.”
That settled, Kagami sat a little ways off to put on her skates.
“Kagami!” Adrien plopped down in the chair beside her, looking brighter than ever. “Did you see the cake Marinette made? Alya says it’s got passionfruit icing!”
“I didn’t,” she replied honestly. “Knowing Marinette, I trust it’s amazing.”
“She’s so thoughtful.” He smiled while accepting his skates back from her. “Do you know when she’s coming? I want to thank her, but I haven’t seen her yet.”
Kagami’s brow furrowed. “Alya didn’t tell you? Marinette isn’t coming.”
“She’s… she’s not?” Adrien’s head hung. “Do you know why? Did I do something to upset her?”
“I’m sure it’s not that.” Unless it was because she’d learned of Adrien’s crush on Ladybug. Marinette was always touchy when it came to competing for Adrien’s affections, even if she’d eventually put aside her rivalry with Kagami.
“She didn’t explain why she couldn’t come. But she did say that you mean the world to her, and that she will make it up to you.”
“She really said that?” His hand hovered over his heart, his face hopeful.
Kagami wondered why Nino thought it so important to bring Ladybug to the party. Adrien looked just as thrilled at the idea of seeing Marinette.
“Yes. Now until then, let’s make the most of tonight.”
“Right. Thank you.”
He swapped out his orange sneakers for white ice skates, and she caught a glimpse of the dragon sticker she’d stuck on his left blade back when they were dating. It left a bittersweet taste in her mouth, but more sweet than bitter. He was a dear friend. He’d shown that nothing would change that.
“Dance with me?” He asked while pulling her towards the rink.
“On the ice?”
“Why not? I know you’re skilled enough.”
She had no doubt of that. Adrien had always been a little less steady in his skates than her, though.
“Alright.” She smiled. “If you think you can keep up with me.”
“You know I never back down from a challenge!”
Nino was playing Don’t Think Twice as they glided out onto the ice. She had to weave between other skaters—the arena had never been this crowded when she and Adrien escaped here before. Phillipe must have been thrilled to admit so many patrons.
“Woah!” Adrien skidded back when a young man with tall blond hair came barreling through.
“Sorry!” Luka called, skating quickly behind him. “This is XY’s first time on the ice.”
“Lu! Look, I think I’m getting the hang of it!”
Kagami hid a laugh behind her hand as XY wiped out, “starfishing” (as Nino would have called it) across the ice.
“Nice moves,” Juleka deadpanned before gliding on with Rose.
“You have some interesting friends,” Kagami noted as she and Adrien started moving again.
“I’m not sure if XY counts as a friend, exactly.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “He’s more like… an acquaintance, or a weird family member you have to invite to reunions.”
Kagami raised an eyebrow. “You have a lot of family members like that?” She had some odd relatives, but they tended to be excluded from family gatherings.
“Er… well, Nino says his family does. I think all of my family is weird, but a different kind of weird, if you know what I mean.”
Kagami nodded, remembering the few times she’d met Adrien’s cousin Felix. Not to mention the austere Gabriel himself.
Once they got to a clearer area, Adrien took both of her hands and began skating backwards.
“You’ve gotten better,” she noted. “I still think you should let me take the male part, though. I’m more used to skating backwards than you.”
“Fair enough.” He effortlessly switched positions with her.
At times like this, she remembered why she’d dated Adrien in the first place. Not only was he sweet, respectful, and talented, but they were so alike. They could glide in near-perfect sync from hours of easy practice. He’d been the first one to take her routine hobbies and add a spark to them, make them truly fun.
Thankfully, those were all things that hadn’t changed. It had hurt when he’d first admitted that he was still in love with someone else, that he didn’t feel it was fair to treat her as a second choice. But she respected that now. He’d made his decision, and she’d learned much more about herself since then, too.
Such as the fact that she might not desire romantic affections at all.
“New song,” Adrien said when Don’t Think Twice stopped playing and Wannabe by the Spice Girls began. “This one’s not in three-four time. You’ll have to give me something harder than a box step waltz.”
“Okay, I’ll stop going easy on you!”
She let go of one of his hands, spinning him out and back in. He almost skidded on the second spin, but she caught him and turned it into a dip.
“Looks like someone was getting cocky.” She smirked.
“Nah. I just knew you would catch me.” He winked.
She laughed, pulling him back upright and beginning a simpler dance that Alya had taught her. Something called a foxtrot, if she remembered correctly.
“Shouldn’t you be saving that kind of flirting for your girlfriend?”
It was satisfying to watch the blush spread across his cheeks. “My—? I don’t have a girlfriend. But if I’m making you uncomfortable, I’m sorry, I really should have—”
“Relax, Adrien. I was only teasing.” She squeezed his hand. They continued gliding hand in hand, not pulling off any fancy tricks this time.
“Still. I should be more considerate of your feelings.”
“I’ve assured you, you have nothing to worry about.” She hoped her honest smile showed that.
“But—”
“I’m asexual, Adrien.”
He went silent. Kagami tried to keep her strides even. She’d realized this about herself for a while now—since shortly after they broke up—but she’d yet to voice it even to her closest friend. What if he didn’t believe her? Or worse, what if he believed she’d led him on in their relationship? She hadn’t realized that the strong friendship she’d felt for him wasn’t romantic or sexual attraction at the time.
“Like Max?” He replied after a moment.
The response threw her for such a loop that she almost stumbled. “Like—who?”
“Max Kanté. From my class? I can introduce you if you’d like; I saw him when we came in. If you’re aro too, you might want to talk to Alix, she’s—”
A pink blur blew past them.
“—right there, actually.” He laughed. “You might want to catch her off of the rink, though. She’s even more competitive than you. It’ll be hard to get her to slow down.”
Something swelled in Kagami’s chest. She’d felt fairly secure in her identity, but still very much alone. Distant strangers on the internet could only provide so much comfort. But if Adrien knew not one, but two people like her…
“Thank you,” she said, her voice thick with emotion. “That would mean so much to me.”
“No problem! And I really hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable while we were dating. Relationships are pretty new to me; I never even thought to ask.”
He was worried about making her uncomfortable? He really was twice the gentleman she’d assumed.
“No need to worry. I didn’t know I was ace at the time. If I was uncomfortable, I would have told you.” It had been a long road in realizing, and an even longer road in accepting her asexuality. But there was no point in trying to deny who she was. Seeing Adrien take it in stride was more of a relief than he could know. “Thank you for your thoughtfulness.”
“Of course! You’re my friend, Kagami. I would never want to hurt a friend.”
Tears threatened to prick her eyes when he flashed her his brightest smile. Before she could look like a complete fool, though, Nino skated up behind Adrien and tapped his shoulder.
“Hey, bro! Hey, lady bro! You mind if I borrow Adrien for a bit? I want to show off my sick skate moves!”
Kagami laughed. She could always count on Nino to keep things light.
“Nino?” Adrien looked shocked. “Since when do you skate?”
“Since Kagami taught me! Thanks again for that, by the way.” He tipped his cap at her.
“Why don’t we all skate together for a while? It’ll be more fun that way,” Adrien suggested.
“Whatever my best bro wants. XY took over the music, so I’m free for the next few songs.”
Adrien took both of their hands, and they glided in sync. It was a bit more difficult with Nino, since he was still a beginner, but it was no less fun. They even managed to dance a bit to the upbeat music.
“This party is everything I could ask for,” Adrien said in the quiet between two songs. “I can’t thank you guys enough.”
“We’re just happy to see you happy, dude.” Nino clapped his shoulder. “I don’t think this party has everything yet, though.”
Adrien’s brow scrunched. “What do you mean?”
That was when Kagami noticed a figure in red skating towards them. The crowd parted before her slow but steady strides.
“I believe he means her.” Kagami pointed to the red skater.
It was worth everything to see Adrien’s eyes widen, his cheeks turn pink, an expression of utter elation wash over him. His grip on Kagami’s hand loosened as he clasped his hands in front of his chest.
“No way. No way! You got Ladybug to come to my party?” He looked between Kagami and Nino, as if trying to figure out who to thank for it.
“It was all Nino.” Kagami dipped her head.
“It was nothing.” Nino rubbed the back of his neck. “Alya did all the heavy lifting. Her Ladyblog connections, ya know?”
Adrien looked like he was about ready to throw his arms around both of them, but that was when Ladybug reached their group.
“I hope I’m not interrupting anything,” she said, sounding shyer than Kagami remembered her. A frozen tiara glimmered in her dark hair, reflecting the laser lights that flashed across the rink. “I heard it was someone’s birthday?”
“Me!” Adrien practically shouted. “I mean—uh, thank you so much for coming to my party, Ladybug. I’m honored.”
He bowed so deeply, his skates nearly slid out from under him. Ladybug hid a giggle behind her hand.
“You’re so cute—I mean—it’s super cute—COOL of you to invite me.” She flashed finger guns at him.
Kagami’s eyes narrowed thoughtfully. Was Ladybug always so awkward in social situations?
“It was super cool of you to come!” Adrien held her shoulders to steady himself as he gave the traditional bisous. Ladybug’s face was bright red afterwards.
“Should we give them some space?” Nino whispered to Kagami behind his hand.
“It would defeat the purpose if we didn’t, wouldn’t it?”
“You’re leaving?” Adrien asked when he tore his eyes away from Ladybug long enough to notice. “You don’t have to!”
“No worries, dude! We’ve got to check on Chloé and make sure we’re still not on your babysitter’s radar. We’ll catch up with you later!”
Nino dragged Kagami away, nearly sending them both to the ice until she steadied them.
“Do you really think Chloé is shirking her responsibilities?” She asked.
“Nah, she seemed pretty serious about that. I just needed an excuse to leave them alone. Adrien would be too nice to leave us otherwise.”
“Oh.” Kagami leaned back against the railing, watching Adrien take Ladybug’s hand. They seemed well suited for each other. Kagami had heard Adrien wax poetic about Ladybug enough to tell his affections were genuine, and Ladybug could protect Adrien from anyone who wanted to hurt him.
Unless she was the one who ended up hurting him, in which case Kagami would have to test her sabre skills against the superhero.
That shouldn’t be necessary. Kagami hoped they would find happiness together for at least one evening.

Chapter 2: StarGazing
“You are here quite early today,” Ladybug said, her tone a bit confused.
“Well, I can’t stay away from you for long, M’Lady.” Chat winked at her, causing her to giggle as she shook her head.
“Silly kitty,” she fondly whispered, then looked up at the night sky.
A cool breeze blew as Chat turned his gaze up to the sky too. The moon was still low, making the diamonds of the inky black sky present their twinkling beauty in full glory.
Laying on the soft green grass in the company of the Lady he adored—
—he sure was a lucky black cat.
But he wanted to include her in his life. To be with her, by her side, always, and not meeting her in secret away from the eyes of the world. He wanted to introduce his Lady to the world, without the fear of —
“Chat?”
Her soft voice broke him out of his thoughts, causing him to turn his luminescent gaze to her.
“The stars look beautiful tonight, don’t they?” She whispered in awe, her bluebell eyes shining.
Smiling at her, Chat reached forward to lightly run his hand through her hair. “They sure are, Bugaboo, but all the stars lose their beauty in front of you.”
“Flatterer,” Ladybug whispered, rolling her eyes in amusement before she turned her gaze up back to the stars.
Chat stared at her beautiful face, etching the visage into his memory, before sighing and joining her in stargazing.
A comfortable silence settled between the two.
“You know, M’Lady? Chat whispered, capturing the mermaid’s attention, “When I was a child, I often used to stargaze with Maman. We would spot all the different constellations we could see, and sometimes even make our own.”
Ladybug giggled and said in adoration, “Wow, that’s...that’s cute.”
Chat chuckled along, then turned back to gazing at the stars.
“See that ‘U’ shape over there?” Ladybug suddenly spoke up, pointing in a direction.
Chat followed her gaze. At first he couldn’t see a thing, but as he looked with more attention, he could make out the faint ‘U’-shape the dim stars were making.
“That’s the Corona Borealis, also known as The Northern Crown,” Ladybug informed him, a soft smile dancing on her lips.
“Cool, I wonder if I can get that crown for you, M’Lady,” Chat said in a teasing voice, leaning close to the mermaid’s face.
“Always the flatterer you are, aren’t you, kitty?” Ladybug said as she booped Chat’s nose and pushed him away, giggling at his cute pouting face.
“Legend has it that it represented the crown that Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos of Crete, wore at her wedding,” the mermaid said, looking back up at the sky.
“Ariadne— she’s from Greek mythology, right?”
“Yes,” the mermaid confirmed, before continuing. “Her ball of thread helped Theseus defeat the Minotaur and find his way out of the labyrinth. Theseus gave her the crown when they married. The crown was created by the supreme goldsmith of the gods, Hephaestus.”
“Woah, cool,” Chat whistled, then turned his attention back to Ladybug. “Hey, you close your eyes now.”
“Why?” she asked, curiously.
“Well, it’s my turn to make you spot a constellation, duh.”
Ladybug giggled, but then closed her eyes. Chat looked at the sky, gazing hard and trying to make out indeterminate shapes, until a familiar constellation came into his view.
“Look over there!” Chat exclaimed, causing Ladybug to open her eyes and look in the direction he pointed.
“Do you see it?” Chat asked, excitement dripping from his voice.
Ladybug squinted hard, pushing her torso out of water as much as she could, as if she was trying to reach close to the sky to get a good look at what Chat was pointing at. Her expression was so cute that Chat had to bite his lower lip hard in order to stop the laughter from escaping him.
“That array of stars, Bug. A small shape with kind of a very long tail?” Chat explained, helping her as much as he could.
The mermaid continued to squint till her eyes were nearly shut, then all of a sudden she straightened up, opening her eyes as she exclaimed, “Voilà!”
“Did you see it?’ Chat asked again eagerly.
“Yes! It’s a very long tail! I have never seen this constellation before, what’s this called?” Ladybug asked excitedly.
“It’s the Draco, the dragon. Maman told me a story about it, too. Wanna hear?”
Ladybug looked at him with her eyes shining with excitement, “Oh , chaton , please do tell!”
Letting out a slight cough, Chat started speaking in a comically deep voice, “In Greek mythology, the dragon was Ladon, a monstrous beast with a hundred heads chosen by Hera to guard the golden apples of immortality. These apples grew in the garden of the Hesperides, located in a far western corner of the world, near the Atlas mountains at the edge of the encircling Oceanus, the world ocean. Ladon was slain by Hercules in the eleventh of his twelve labors.”
As he stopped, Ladybug let out a small chuckle. “Oh, kitty, you and your theatrics. But wow, that’s quite an interesting tale!”
“I know right! Also, Draco was believed to be the guardian of the star that never moves, the celestial pole. In ancient times, the pole star was believed to be the doorway between the mortal world and eternity,” Chat added further.
“Woah! I wonder if this door between mortal world and eternity exists…” Ladybug said in an awed whisper.
“I don’t know about that, M'Lady, but there’s one thing I am certain of.”
Chat reverently picked up the mermaid’s red-scaled hand, bringing it to his lips and causing her breath to hitch slightly.
“No matter wherever we are, for you, I would cross any waters, My Ladybug.”

Miraculous Ladybug Rewatch Episode 70 Ikari Gozen
So what’s everyone’s blood type?
I’m still disappointed in this fandom for the lack of Mireille x Aurore content. The perfect rivals to friends to girlfriends.
”Once home of royalty, now home of art. The Louvre museum! Aha, victory!” “Alix, that’s your home” “I know”
Uh Juleka? Where you going?
“You know, Mother, Adrien Agreste is participating in this… game”
“Gabriel Agreste has many admirable qualities, but this only goes to prove that even he is flawed by being too permissive with his son”
“In some ways, he is more blind than I am. I mean look at Paris the reason it’s like this is because he wants his wife back”
“Kagami? My new friend?”
“No way! She's brilliant, strong, cute, beautiful, knows how to use a sword, and makes girls like me realize their not straight”
“Nope. Nu-uh. Not doin' it! Uh-uh!”
“She's so weird. It’s really cute”
“Kagami! Woah! This must be fate! I mean, what were the odds of you and I being paired up? One in ten million at least. Right? So awesome”
“You didn't look too happy about being my secret friend, though. I saw you turn around and walk away just now” Exposed.
“Hey girl! I sure hope your partner's as cool as mine; meet Wayhem. Though for some reason he keeps saying “Kill Every Last One Of Them!”“
“Do you prefer to be called by your whole name, or a nickname?”
“Thank you, Marinette. Uh– Your hair is… very shiny”
“What is your blood type?”
Is this how we make friends?
“Everyone in Japan knows their blood type, it tells you who you are. Mine is O, which means I'm independent, optimistic, strong-willed and intuitive” Yeah i don’t know my own blood type.
“What's your favorite season?”
“Summer, cause it's nice and hot”
“Or spring, cause that's when nature awakens”
“Or maybe the fall; the colors are so gorgeous that time of the year”
“But then again; winter inspires me so much”
“You're indecisive, scatterbrained, irresponsible, you have a split personality: typical AB”
Exposed again.
“Let's say you found out about some special chocolate ice cream; you really want to try it, but someone else gets there first”
“Do you, A, steal it from them? B, get another type of chocolate ice cream, even if it's not as good? Or, C, never eat chocolate ice cream ever again?”
I’ll take B cause never eat chocolate ice cream again? I will die.
“You've done a great job fishing”
*Laughs in Spiderverse*
“She placed her trust in you when she gave you her phone. And you didn’t have to steal it”
“Huh–? Zero messages except the ones from the contest”
“And there's only one number in her list of contacts: her mom's”
“She doesn't even have Adrien's number?” *Cries in Japanese*
“Oh no! She's got my phone. If she sneaks a peak, she'll see the messages Alya and I were sending each other”
“Do all humans really sneak through other people's things?” Umm... Maybe?
Happy Kagami.
Sad Kagami.
“How tragic it is to feel unloved. Alone, deprived of friendship” Adrien says hi.
“I'm a friend of Kagami's, I'm right here with her. I'll put her on the phone”
“Kagami doesn't have any friends. Why do you have her phone?” Adrien says hi again.
“Oh I can assure you, ma'am, I am a friend of Kagami's. We've been teamed up together for a game”
“A game?! But I forbade her to!”
“A game? Did I say game? Oh no, I meant a grab… to grab– I invited Kagami over to grab some orange juice with me”
“She'll be back home soon, I promise” *Cries in Japanese again*
“Ikari Gozen, I am Hawkmoth”
“Ma'am, please don't punish your daughter. Ma'am? Hello?” “Gabriel what the fuck do want now?!” “Did she just say Gabriel Agreste?”
“I actually think you might wanna hide someplace where she won't find you” “What did you do?”
“Oh god I've seen Attack on Titan”
Yeah no one saw that.
“Well hopefully that won’t lead to a really cringy episode”
“We're coming, Kagami”
“Kagami?” He sounds so concern.
“You really think it's time to invite me to the cinema?“
“Sorry, kitty, only got one ticket, I'll come back soon” *Screams in Ladynoir*
“I had to find a cover now that Hawkmoth knows my identity” The confusion the fandom had cause this episode aired before Feast because season 3 airing was a mess.
*Screams in Dragon*
“Greetings, young lady and good day to you. Fear not, I am Longg, the Dragon Kwami”
“You're a what?” “A Kwa-mi” “ “So you’re a genie of the lamp?”
“Allow me to tell you about the many feats a magic being like myself will help you accomplish once the magic words have been spoken”
“Ladybug has hopes that you will defeat Ikari Gozen with panache”
“Using the element of your choosing Wind, water or lightning”
“But firstly, let me tell you about her plan”
“Lonng, Dragon Up!”
“Wait! No! Not yet!” Just like Adrien.
She dabs.
“Nice to meet you, Chat Noir. I am Ryuko”
“Wait as in Ryuko Matoi?”
“What are you doing? This wasn't the plan”
“What plan?” “Ah, you just transformed before letting your Kwami finish explaining. I made that mistake too”
“No, stay behind with Chat Noir. This is a personal matter between a mother and a daughter” “Oh my god! This is the final battle of Kill la Kill!” “If you compare this to Kill la Kill one more time, I'll Lightning Dragon your ass right now”
“No! I’ve been eaten by the titan!”
“Hold your breath. Aim at the bokken”
“Wow, you're a fast learner”
“I have good teachers” “Like me?” “No”
“Ugh! I haven’t felt this much pain since Kagami was born” Okay, I'll leave.
“What's happened to me? Where is Kagami?”
“Your daughter is nearby, ma'am. She'll be here soon” “Kagami i know that’s you! I’m blind, not deaf!” “Well this is awkward, right my lady?” “Yeah” “Adrien what are you doing here? And you’re that girl who had Kagami’s phone!” “Well this got even more awkward”
“I understand that you want to make friends, but friendships can prove disappointing sometimes” Tomoe, who hurt you?
“Now I understand why Adrien considers you a good friend. Though I'm still convinced that i killed a lot of his brain cells when i was akumatized the first time”
“By the way, I've been thinking about this blood type thing. Isn't that a bit like the Zodiac thing? What's your sign?” “Dragon” “No way! I'm snake” And I'm a pig.
New Hero: Ryuko. Identity Kagami Tsurugi. Power: Elements.
Gotta get back, back to the future.

Aspik & Marinette
(If you read my other works this does NOT fit in with that timeline)
2017
Ladybug turned to Rena Rouge she needed someone to deliver Sass to Luka but she couldn't do it right now. She looked over at Nino-er Carapace, right now they were on the offensive, they didn't require his defensive power she ran to him.
"Carapace! I need your help!"
Carapace turned to her and nodded while watching the Akumatized woman begin to run their way, along the river, "uh.. sure?"
Ladybug opened her yoyo and produced a box, "I need you to find-- Ugh, I hate telling you this. You already know who Rena is…" she mentally argued if she could deliver it herself.
"How about instead of telling me who it goes to, you let me guess?" he offered?
Ladybug looked down the Seine at the quickly approaching Melusine that decided to dive under the water and gain it's mermaid tail, dragon wings, "Alright, it's the Miraculous of the snake."
"Um, Julika's older brother?" Carapace didn't bother to tell her that everyone already knew everyone else except who she and Chat Noir were.
Ladybug took a step back in surprise then recovered and pretended he was wrong, "Uh, I've met him, he sounds like a good match for a one time use, take it to him let the kwami, his name is Sass, explain how it works, now go!"
Carapace ran to the Couffain's boat and he was nearly there before he remembered, Luka broke his leg the day before. He quickly thought then veered to his best friend's house, Adrien wasn't home, he would just be getting out of fencing, he ran to school. Out of breath he hid in the shadows of the courtyard stairs and waited. When Adrien walked out of the cloakroom doors he rushed him, picked him up and pulled him under the opposite stairs so no one would see them.
"Adrien Agreste?"
Adrien looked at the turtle superhero and knew he was needed, some place, IN BLACK but he was about to be offered something else. Plagg was going to be pissed… again. He nodded, "Yes?"
Carapace looked around and finding no one he pulled the box out from under his shield, "This is the miraculous of the snake…"
Adrien did even hear the rest of what his sometimes partner was saying. He just looked at the box trying to figure out a way to say he did not want to do this.
Carapace opened the box with a grin and a flourish, "Well?" a heartbeat went by and his best friend didn't respond, not that he knew they were best friends but he thought for sure Adrien would be at least a little excited. He'd been completely stoked when LB had given him Lil' Dude. "Uh, Du- er M. Agreste?"
Adrien looked like he was in pain or at the very least mildly constipated.
Sass spoke up, "Master Agreste, may I explain the way my miraculous works?"
Adrien looked at Sass, "um, can I not? I'm kind of not supposed to put myself in danger."
Carapace looked surprised but Sass didn't, he remembered their time together.
"Um, dude, I'm sure you can, but I'm begging you, LB needs our help Chat Noir is totally MIA and this is the first time she's ever asked me to do something so important. Please, don't make me let her down."
Adrien had to smile, Carapace was such a team player, how could he let his friend down, he reminded him so much of Nino sometimes. On the other hand he really did not want to do this, after all history had shown him, the odds were not in their favor if he were Aspik. He looked at Sass who also didn't seem thrilled, where was Luka? His face lit up, Luka! "Actually, I know who Viperi.." Adrien trailed off and his smile faded, he'd forgotten.
Carapace nodded, "Yeah, I guess, I was right, the guy who broke his leg yesterday?"
Adrien shrugged, "Ladybug said I had to keep it a secret so I'm not really sure how I should answer that."
Carapace grinned and held out the box again, "Adrien Agreste-"
Adrien pursed his lips then put his hand out, "Okay," he put the miraculous on and quickly called the Gorilla to tell him the team had extra drills and stashed his bag then transformed.
Carapace watched his efficiency and reminded himself to tell LB to give Adrien a Miraculous more often. "Ready?"
Aspik nodded and ran after Carapace into battle.
With a little black blur tucked between him and his lyre giving constant negative feedback.
"You could have said no," Plagg said.
"I tried," Aspik whispered.
"Did you forget the last time?"
"No, I just need to figure out a way to, get hurt or something," he said.
"Did you say something?" Carapace said, turning toward the river.
"Yeah, what am I supposed to be fighting?"
"Oh, it's like a massive Melusine the size of a statue, it can switch between legs and fins. And we haven't figured out what the akumatized object is."
"She needs her Chat Noir not Snekboi," Plagg said dryly, then to make sure Aspik understood he was being made fun of, "That's spelled S-N-E-K-B-O-I."
"Yeah, I figured," then louder he replied to Carapace, "Um, I'm going to meet you at the riverfront on the other side, see if I can get a lay of the area."
Carapace nodded, Adrien was smart, Viperion did that a lot, watched the entire battle area, to see what needed to be done, "Okay! Thanks I appreciate it so much!" Carapace said, then ran ahead.
Aspik ran diagonally away from him, then found a recessed area and detransformed. "Sorry Sass but-"
"He's mine!" Plagg interrupted, "Stop trying to take MY chosen."
Sass looked unimpressed, "First, I don't choose to be GIVEN although Master Adrien is very nice I much prefer Master Luka, Second, until now, I had no idea you were Chat Noir… My condolences having to work with… Him," Sass said looking at Plagg.
Plagg's chin dropped in shock, that anyone would think that he was anything less than amazing. After all, he was!
Adrien rolled his eyes and reached into his pocket for some blue colored cheese and popped it in Plagg's, still open mouth, "Snack time." he said.
"Yuck, that completely messes wi-" he grumbled with his mouth full.
"Aqua Plagg, Transform Me," Adrien said, looking both ways then ran for the water, tucking the Snake Miraculous's bracelet into his pocket. Now Sass was hiding in his hair, something that occasionally Plagg would do.
"You know you don't have to pick on him," Chat Noir chastised Sass.
"He needs it, don't worry about him," Sass replied.
"So nice of you to join me!" a frustrated Ladybug was suddenly in front of him in the water.
Chat gave her a gallic shrug, "I came as soon as I could, and worse yet, I have to leave early, I know I've never done that before."
Ladybug looked ready to blow her top.
"Milady, I've told you my parents really worry about me well, I don't think the excuse I gave them was very good," Chat lied trying to come up with a way to show up as Aspik for at least a few minutes of the battle. He didn't want Ladybug to think HE was a loser after all.
By this time they had finally caught up with the akumatized woman, "Woah! She's huge, are you sure she's not a sentimonster?" And she was naked, Carapace hadn't said that.
Ladybug nodded, "Yes, she's been talking to Hawk Moth."
Chat nodded and shot forward and began climbing the Melusine's braid.
"Chat! No!" Ladybug yelled, "Stupid cat," she muttered, then climbed up after him.
"Excuse me!" Chat Noir said from the Melusine's shoulder.
The Melusine stopped and a wave pulled Ladybug from her hair throwing her backward.
"Cat!" the Melusine yelled under the water.
Chat looked a little less certain of his plan at this point, "That's me," he said hurrying away, "so who are you?"
The akumatized woman gestured to herself as if it were obvious, "Melusine, didn't you learn anything in history?!"
Ladybug swam up, "What happened?"
Melusine snapped her gaze to Ladybug, "Give me your miraculous and I'll tell you all about it."
Chat looked at the woman and realized she wasn't wearing anything he vaguely remembered the story but her hair was braided, he raced down her braid and sliced through the band with his nails hoping that was the object and ran off not waiting to find out if he was right.
Ladybug smiled, how could she have missed the clear elastic? The black butterfly floated toward her in the water trying to get to the surface but she swam after it. When she broke free a hand was waiting to pull her out and she looked up, it was Aspik. She'd told Nino to give Sass to Luka! She'd deal with this later she only had seconds left from using her Lucky Charm before Chat had joined her.
She jumped out and purified the akuma and ran to detransform only to find she'd ran out of snacks for Tikki.
"It's okay Marinette, I'm sure Aspik can take care of the woman," Tikki said.
Marinette leaned around the bridge's side to see and Tikki was right, Aspik was talking to her and calming her. Her heart melted, Adrien was so awesome, she would just watch for a second she thought.
"Marinette? What are you doing? You don't want to be caught."
"Okay I'm going," she said and began walking as if she'd been taking a stroll along the river suddenly she heard quick footsteps catch up to her.
"Hey, are you okay, were you hurt?"
Marinette turned, "Me? No, why, wh-who are you?" she feigned ignorance.
Aspik introduced himself, "I'm Aspik, I'm, ah, just helping, I'm supposed to give my miraculous back but," he shrugged, "everyone left."
"Oh," Marinette smiled shyly.
Aspik grinned, this was kind of fun, he didn't get to see Marinette as often as he used to since they were in completely different classes. It would be nice if LB would let her be Multimouse but he knew it wasn’t worth his time to even bother asking.
Marinette looked over her shoulder in confusion, “Um? Did something… Happen?”
Aspik looked at her with narrowed eyes then leaned back to check if maybe she had been hurt, “You didn’t know there was an akumatized giant?”
Marinette felt her face get warmer and tried to calm herself, “Uh-uh?” She looked around, she had to get out of here so she could feed Tikki then get his miraculous back from him. Aspik was looking at her thoughtfully and she worried she was being too obvious.
Adrien worried, maybe Marinette had hearing problems, maybe that's why Ladybug wasn't giving her another chance, he sighed and looked up at her in time for her to throw her hands up and clip him in the chin.
"Actually I heard- OH!, Omigod! I'msosorry! Aaaaspik!!!!!" she wailed as she tried to correct herself from saying his real name.
Aspik smiled, this was the Marinette he knew and lov-uh… liked. Right, liked. "It's okay, it was an accident you barely brushed me, what were you saying?"
Marinette wished there was a hole nearby for her to crawl into, "I heard something but just figured it was someone with their television too loud."
Aspik nodded then pointed across the street, surprised they were so close to her home already.
"Well, this is me, thanks for taking me home," Marinette smiled and waved as she hurried away from him.
Aspik nodded and waved with a silly grin.
"You can stop waving, she's not even looking at you," Plagg said from behind his shoulder.
Aspik dropped his hand and his silly grin and coughed as if it could make the embarrassing moment go away, "I hope she's okay."
Plagg rolled his eyes and went back to his hiding spot between Aspik and his lyre, "She's fine."
"She thought the fight was someone listening to their television."
"She's fine, let's get home so your pretty lady can get your miraculous. Or should I say Luka's miraculous."
Aspik was walking toward school for his bag but detransformed in a crevice first.
When he reached his bedroom he was surprised to find Ladybug sitting on his sofa watching his television.
"Adrien!" She jumped up.
"M-Ladybug!" he said simultaneously.
"I-I'm sorry, I was just waiting and, I hope you don't mind," Ladybug said pointing to his television.
Adrien shook his head, "Not at all," he reached into his bag, "I didn't mean to keep this, but everyone just left."
Ladybug shook her head, her face turning pink, "I didn't think that, Chat Noir and I had to rush out, sorry, I should have said something or sent someone! I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable," she said biting her lower lip.
Adrien walked forward, the sofa between them holding the oval box to her. "I'm not, I'm happy you felt comfortable here. You should come over more often-er-I mean- ifyouwant," Adrien rushed to finish.
Ladybug gently plucked the box from his hand then took her yoyo and opened it depositing it inside to give her something to do as she recovered her sanity. Was he inviting her over? She nearly squealed in her mind. "Thank you, Adrien, I know how hard being Aspik is for you."
Adrien shook his head, "It, it was fine."
Ladybug put her hand on the back of the sofa and leaned forward and kissed his cheek and whispered, "Thank you."
Adrien's eyes fluttered shut and when they opened she was gone.

Ghost Bug- Ikari Gozen- A Tale of Dragons
Blame @fantasyfandommaiden for this. She’s the one who encouraged me to do it. Think of this as my gift to you all for 1,000 followers.
“Elsa?” Hiccup asked. “Hmm?” She replied, giving him a small smile. It almost broke his resolve like it had so many times before. But this time was different...he hoped. “Elsa, we’ve known each other ever since you first used the Miraculous all those years ago... And even then, you always stood out to me.” He began. The Dragons quickly realized what was happening and subtly eavesdropped to watch. Elsa frowned at his words, and he quickly corrected himself.
“Not in a bad way! Just...Woah, you were and still are amazing, and I guess what I’m trying to say is...” He continued, but cut himself off when a familiar sound was heard. The Dragon Miraculous was being activated.
“OH, COME ON!” Anna yelled. Zephyr and Nuffink only groaned in annoyance. Honestly, they should’ve seen this coming.
They all grunted in pain as they found themselves in a very cramped space.
“Ooh, felt that one.” Anna groaned.
“Nuff, quit poking me with your ribs!” Zephyr scolded. “It’s called breathing, Zeph!” Nuffink retorted.
“Can someone tell Toothless to stop slobbering right on my face?” Marian asked dryly. “At least you’re not on the other end.” Aria hissed.
“Ow, ow, my leg!” Mulan yelled. “Sorry.” Doragonesu apologized.
“Whose hand is that?” Elsa asked sharply. “My bad,” Zeus admitted. “Can you not? Just for once?” Hiccup asked, and smiled a little as Anna reached over and punched Zeus in the shoulder. “Oh, there you are, right on time! Everyone, meet Miss Kagami, the newest of the Dragons.” Longg greeted. “W-who are they?!” A young girl asked.
“I’ll introduce them later. Anyway, back to the instructions. To transform, all you need to say is ‘Longg, bring the storm.’ The powers are Wind Dragon, Water Dragon, and Lightning Dragon. Allow me to tell you about the many feats that a magic being like myself will help you accomplish once the magic words have been spoken. Ladybug has hopes that you will defeat Ikari Gozen with panache using the element of your choosing, wind, water, or lightning. But firstly, let me tell you about her plan.” Longg ranted. “Longg, bring the storm!” Kagami cried. “No, not ye-aahhh!” Longg cried as he was sucked into the Miraculous and Kagami transformed. She quickly invoked Wind Dragon and escaped.
“Well, she’s not a Dragon if she isn’t ready for a fight,” Mulan admitted. With that, the Dragons followed her outside. “Speaking of which, where is the-OH MY GOODNESS WHAT IS THAT THING?!” Anna yelled as they saw Ikari Gozen. “Whatever it is, I’m glad she can’t see us,” Hiccup muttered. “That’s Ikari Gozen. Someone got hold of the Moth Miraculous and has been using it for evil, creating akumas instead of champions. This is the latest Akuma.” Piao Chong explained. “Sisters!” Doragonesu greeted as soon as she saw Tentomushi and Kuro Neko. The trio laughed and cried a little as they went in for a group hug. It had been so long since they’d seen each other.
“I see you’ve met the new Seahorse.” Mulan deduced as they watched the fight, “And is that the new Baby Bug and Kitten?” “Yes, Adrien Agreste and Marinette Dupain Cheng. They actually know Kagami. I have a feeling they will work well together.” Piao Chong replied. “Whoo! Go, Ryuuko!” Zeus cheered. They had to admit, Kagami was a pretty good fighter. Ladybug made the right choice in giving her the Dragon. They all gasped in fear as they saw Ikari Gozen go for a blow they knew Ryuuko wouldn’t be able to dodge. Felix groaned as Cat Noir took the blow for her and then got swallowed by Ikari Gozen. “And that’s our cue,” Mulan instructed as Ladybug and Ryuuko retreated. The Dragons quickly followed the duo.
“I behaved hastily. I failed. I’m not worthy to fight beside you.” Ryuuko said sullenly. Oh, dear. She had the complex too. Well, a Dragon wasn’t a Dragon if they hated failure. “Hey, don’t worry. Not everyone succeeds in their first mission.” Mulan reassured. “You should’ve seen Zeus here when he first started.” Tefnut teased, earning a glare from his teammate. “We all make mistakes, Kagami. But that doesn’t matter. What matters is whether you keep fighting. So, what will you do?” Mulan asked. Ryuuko looked shocked, then smiled. “Keep fighting.” She answered confidently.
“Exactly what I wanted to hear. Now, here’s the plan.” Ladybug instructed. Everyone watched with anticipation as the fight continued, and breathed a collective sigh of relief as Ladybug purified the Akuma. The Dragons and Bugs followed their current Holders into an alleyway. They watched with a bit of sadness as Kagami gave the Miraculous back. “Don’t rule her out just yet, petit. Kagami’s an excellent fighter. She’ll be very useful in the future.” Marie reasoned. “I know, Mamie.” Ladybug replied. “Goodby, Ladybug. And thank you.” Kagami said. “You’re very welcome.” Ladybug responded. And with that, she zipped away.
Kagami hung her head a little and was shocked when she turned to see the ghosts were still there. “B-but, I thought-” She started. “Do you still want to be Ryuuko?” Mulan asked. “Yes...” Kagami answered slowly. “Then here we’ll stay.” Mulan said simply, “And now that the fight’s over, we can properly introduce ourselves.” “Hiccup, what did you wanna say to me?” Elsa whispered. Hiccup was about to say it was nothing but then saw his kids giving him a warning glare. He took a deep breath. ‘Here goes nothing’ He thought.

Why Him? (a kwami swap story)
Very overdue story for my friend @nerdasaurus1200 - a King Monkey and Ryuko kwami swap story! You can probably imagine chaos will ensue from these two swapping... and maybe, a new friendship?
We shall see! I hope anyone reading this enjoys it :) And Nerd, my friend, I hope this was worth the wait! :D Sorry this took so long lol.
(story under the cut)
Oh, of all the people, why Kim?
Today, Adrien and Marinette had decided that the team wasn't working well enough together, and they decided to have a set apart Saturday for a mandatory team bonding exercise - kwami swapping. Chloe got Alix, Max got Nathaniel, Marc switched with Juleka, Ivan swapped with Rose, who then swapped with Mylene; Alya swapped with Nino, and her own boyfriend, Luka, got to swap with Sabrina. Marinette and Adrien swapped (of course).
Their only instructions were to not leave their partner for the day; they didn't even need to seek out an akuma. They could literally go shopping if they wanted to, so long as they stood together.
And she... had gotten Kim.
"You promise to bring that back in one piece, right?" Kim asked, pointing to his circlet.
Kagami gave him a dead stare. "I should ask you the same for my choker."
"Oh, it'll be fine!" Kim smirked. "This is Le Chien Kim ya got here! Not a klutz."
Kagami, again, deadpanned him. Were these words seriously coming out of his mouth right now? Honestly, of all the people she could've gotten, why KIM?! Kim with the Dragon Miraculous just sounded like an accident waiting to happen.
She just didn't feel like throwing a rubber banana today either.
As if examples of how the others days were going couldn't get shoved in her face any more than what her mind was already doing, Nathaniel, equipped with Voyage, Naruto-ran through two portals about two rooftops away from them. Max, equipped with the Fire Flame power, was chasing him with a crossbow that had a flaming arrow. Somehow they were laughing.
"Let's just get this over with," Kagami sighed. "You go first."
"Sweet!" Kim said. "Alright, LONGG - BRING THE STORM!"
She would be lying if she said the Dragon costume didn't fit well on Kim - his suit was a darker red than hers, and his hair that normally stuck up was now covered with a horn-like design for a mask. Honestly, it kinda looked like Dark Cupid. He had wings imprinted into the spandex on his back, and his sword fell into his hands.
Why was she so scared of this?
"Oh, this is so cool!" he exclaimed. "I shall be known as... Doragon Kaosu!"
"Chaos Dragon - fitting," Kagami nodded. "Alright... guess its my turn. XUPPU, SHOWTIME!"
Kagami had already decided her name was going to be Queen Monkey; she saw no need to be original with her name. After all, it wasn't like she was gonna be the Monkey wielder for long. She was just eager for 6 o'clock to roll around so this could be over with.
"Holy crap," Doragon said once her transformation was up, "you look badass!"
Kagami had to smile at that one - despite the fact that Kim was an idiot, he still had his moments, and was really just a fun-loving soul at heart. No one could deny that. "Thank you, Doragon. Now, wanna take your Miraculous for a test run?"
Suddenly, an akuma flew past - he was some sort of hang-gliding akuma, yelling at the top of his lungs about how hang-gliding school was real and not a joke.
"Oh, oh this is perfect!" Doragon laughed. "I've always wanted to do this..."
"Wait, what are you-"
"LIGHTNING DRAGON!"
Doragon suddenly turned into a lightning bolt, and struck the hang-gliding akuma man out of the sky. Queen Monkey screamed out bloody murder in horror, fearing for her sake and for her life that Kim hadn't even been Doragon Kaosu for two minutes and he had already killed someone!
"KIM!" yelled Queen Monkey. "WHAT THE HELL?!"
"Chill, he's fine!" said Doragon, manifesting back in front of her. "I made sure to check his pulse before I got back. He'll live."
"YEAH, FOR LIKE ANOTHER MINUTE!" Queen Monkey screamed. "OH MY GOD!"
"Chill out, Queenie!" Doragon said, genuinely becoming concerned for her. "Its gonna be fine!"
"Woah, what's going on here?"
Kagami and Kim looked up, and there was another kwami swap duo: Luka, now Blue Heeler, and Sabrina, now Hydra. "Gami? Kim? You two okay?" asked Heeler.
"I just struck somebody with lightning, and Queenie over here thinks it'll kill him," Doragon said, somehow completely nonchalant that he had just struck down someone with lightning.
"O..Oh... y-yeah, that'll do it," Heeler muttered, taking a deep breath.
"Should I use Second Chance?" asked Hydra.
"N-No... I think its probably best we leave you two to work this out," Heeler said.
"Wait!" Queen Monkey whispered to him. "P-Please... I-I don't know if I can handle this..."
"Hey, you're gonna do just fine," Heeler reassured her. "It'll probably take some getting used to, but-"
"I-Its not that," Queen Monkey said softly. "I-Its...w-well... he's an idiot."
"You don't know that," Heeler said gently. "Reckless? Probably. Chaotic? You bet! But give him a chance, okay? Please?"
Kagami looked up at Luka... damn those soft eyes. It always made her crack and she hated it! Well, okay, no, she didn't hate it. But she just wished... oh, never mind.
"Fine," she crumbled.
"Thank you so much, Gami," smiled Heeler. "Seriously. Thank you."
"M-hmm," Queen Monkey nodded, trying to appear as sincere as possible. Truth be told, she was still dreading the rest of the day. Hydra and Doragon then wrapped up whatever they were chatting about, and then Sabrina ran off with Luka to go continue their own kwami-swap adventure.
And thank the Lord, the paramedics arrived to take the hang-glider akuma guy away for proper treatment...
-0-
4:00
Oh, just one more hour... one more!
And then, she would have Longg back, and Kim would be back with Xuppu. Like it should be. She was excited to finally get back to normal...
"Hey, Kagami?"
"Hmm?"
The two were currently resting on a rooftop, having just caught another akuma in the trusty akuma-catching portable butterfly nets that they had been supplied with. How they worked was beyond them, but hey, they worked; hopefully Mister Bug didn't mind a surplus of akumas to purify.
"Do you... do you hate me?" Doragon asked.
"What? No no, no!" Queen Monkey said, sitting upright. "Of course not!"
"Are you sure?" he asked, seeming... genuinely troubled. "You sure do act like it."
"No no, God no! I don't hate you, Kim!" Queen Monkey said. "Its just... its..."
"Hmm?" Doragon asked, looking down.
"I'M JEALOUS! I'm jealous, okay?! That's it!" she blurted out. "Its just... you're able to be so reckless and chaotic all the time! And yet, somehow, you can... I don't know, control the chaos? I wish I could do that, for crying out loud! I've always had to be perfect, nothing could be off! Being Queen Monkey has given me a sweet release, and I've really enjoyed it, and you make an excellent Dragon wielder but my pride wouldn't let me admit it! There! Are you happy?"
Queen Monkey then took in deep breaths of air, never having vented like that before... it was new.
And honestly, it felt good to get that off of her chest.
Suddenly, Doragon put a hand on her shoulder, and smiled sadly.
"Wanna know something?" Doragon said. "I'm... I'm kinda jealous of you too."
"Huh?" Queen Monkey said in shock.
"You're able to create a plan on the fly, and you never have to just wing it," Doragon said. "Not only that, but you can be picture perfect when needed. I'm always this big mess of chaos, never really able to control anything but. Though I do wish, at times, that I could be a straight shooter; like you! So yeah, I'm kinda jealous of you too..."
Queen Monkey chuckled. "Well then... uhm..."
"Don't know what to say?" asked Doragon.
"Read my mind," nodded Queen Monkey. "Uh... so... I guess, uh, we're even? Of sorts?"
Doragon shrugged. "Guess so... but really, I'm glad you don't hate me."
"God, how could I hate you?" asked Queen Monkey. "Honestly, though at times, you are a moron - its hilarious. You're hilarious. I'm not only jealous of your ability to control chaos, but your sense of humor is so natural flowing and witty - I could never do that! That's a gift!"
"You kidding me? Of course you could!" Doragon laughed. "And your stoicism... the ability to keep a stone cold glare going for more than five seconds. I'm envious of that, because I know I couldn't do that for shite!"
"Oh come on, you could!" Queen Monkey exclaimed. "See, the trick is to..."
The two wouldn't count on it, but they'd spend the next hour chatting and talking like they were best friends. They'd talk similarities, their differences, what was going on in their romantic lives, how they thought of their powers on the norm, etc.
After the conversation, honestly, the two honestly weren't even ready to swap back when Mister Bug sent out the signal for them to come back.
-0-
"So, how was that day, guys?" asked Mister Bug to the currently present heroes. Lady Noire still had her arm hooked around his; those two were madly in love. It was almost sickeningly cute.
"SO MUCH FUN!" Tourterelle (turtle!Alya) exclaimed.
"Yeah, this was a sick day!" Red Vix (fox!Nino) added.
"AWESOME!" Sun Screamer (rooster!Max) yelled.
"I had so much fun!" Trotter (horse!Nath) exclaimed. "This may actually be the best team bonding exercise idea ever! Thanks you two!"
"Honestly, we didn't get much action," Mr. Stripes (tiger!Marc) chuckled.
"I mean, I guess I learned how to tap dance," Madame Hoofer (goat!Juleka) shrugged with a smile (she failed to notice Rose's sudden blush). "Just what happens when ya get bored, y'know?"
"Its difficult to be intimidating like this," Pink Boar (pig!Ivan) said sadly.
"Oh, you're always a sweetheart to me!" Bluebell (ox!Mylene) smiled up at her boyfriend.
"So cute!" Mouselia (mouse!Rose) said, holding her hands together.
"We had a lot of fun," Blue Heeler (dog!Luka) smiled.
"Yeah, it was actually pretty fun using Repetition as a power!" Hydra (snake!Sabrina) said, equally as happy.
"Psh... It was okay, I guess," Madame Cottontail (bunny!Chloe) shrugged.
"Oh come on, you loved it!" Hornet (bee!Alix) said, smirking smugly.
"Well, we're glad you all had fun!" Lady Noire smiled. "Uh... Kim? Kagami? How'd you all fare?"
There was tension - everyone could feel it. A commonly shared feeling of dread was shared at the start of the day when it was announced that Kim and Kagami would be swapping Miraculouses... but everyone was caught off guard by the two nodding and smirking at one another.
"When can we do it again?" the two asked.
"O-Oh!" Lady Noire gasped, not expecting that answer. "W-Well... uhm, we hadn't thought of doing this again!"
"But, m'lady, you do have to agree - this has been a very successful day," Mister Bug said.
"You're very right, my bug," smiled Lady Noire, nodding. "Well... how about not next Saturday, but the Saturday after? Same swaps? Everyone cool with that?"
A simultaneous nod went around the group, and Lady Noire and Mister Bug settled it - every other Saturday would henceforth be known as "Kwami Swap Day".
"Pound it?" asked Doragon, sticking out his fist.
Queen Monkey nodded, returning the bump. "Pound it."
It hadn't been expected, no, but it wasn't any less welcome because of that.
This friendship would be one for the ages, for sure...

ML: Are They Worthy? Chapter 45: Secrets Revealed!/Hunter Dragon
Early Sunday morning, a middle-aged Chinese man gets off his plane at Charles de Gaulle. He is dressed in a black turtleneck, with black pants, black boots, and black gloves. He goes to pick up his black bag and leaves the airport.
Later in the day, Marinette left the bakery. “I’m going to meet with some friends” Marinette said.
“Take care sweetie,” Tom said.
A few minutes after Marinette left, the middle-aged Chinese man walked in. “Yes? Can I help you?” Sabine asked.
“I’d like a croissant please” the man said.
“Sure thing” Sabine said. She left to get one.
The man pulled a golden compass-like thing and looks behind the counter. “Is there someone here with you two?” he asked.
“Not right now” Sabine said. “Here’s your croissant. Can I help you with anything else?”
The man stared her and her husband down. “No” he said. “He paid for his croissant. “Thank you very much.” He started to eat it as he left.
Marinette met with Vlad and Adrien in a secret place, away from prying eyes. “So, what’s this information you have?”
“I don’t have it yet,” Vlad said. “I need to check with my source first. But I do want to know about Mayura.”
Marinette and Adrien looked at each other. “Well, Mayura wields the peacock miraculous” Marinette explained. “It has the power of emotion. She works alongside Hawk Moth sometimes.”
“Sometimes?” Vlad said.
“She’s not there all the time” Adrien elaborated. “She first appeared during the Hero’s Day attack. We had Hawk Moth cornered, but then she came in and made an amok to save him.”
“I see” Vlad said.
“We, kind of wanted to ask about something else” Adrien said.
“What is it?” Vlad asked.
“Well, Adrien wants to know who all the other heroes are” Marinette explained. “I want to go and ask them all first.”
“That sounds like a good idea,” Vlad said. “I can help. My source is one of those heroes anyway.”
Great, so it’s settled” Marinette exclaimed. “I will talk to some of the heroes, Vlad you take the ones I don’t get, and Adrien, can you patrol around as Cat Noir? We could disguise our true intent by passing it off as a patrol.”
Adrien smiled. “Of course Marinette.” Marinette and Vlad split up who got who and then they all transformed. “Plagg! Claws Out!”
“TIkki! Spots on!”
“Beyyo! Fangs Sharpen!” They then split off.
Marinette’s first stop was Kagami’s. Since both she and her mom knew about their secret, she just knocked on the door. Kagami answered. “Ladybug?”
“Hi. Mind if I talk to you for a second?” Ladybug asked.
“Sure” Kagami said. “What’s this about?”
“Well, Cat Noir wants to know your secret. Is that OK?” Ladybug said.
Kagami was stunned. “Well, of course. But why haven’t you told him already? You two are practically dating, right?”
Ladybug blushed. “Ah, yeah, well, we’ve only recently figured out our own secret identities. We’re still trying to figure things out.”
“I see” Kagami said. “Hey, did Judgement Wolf talk to you about allowing Marinette to have a miraculous?”
Ladybug froze. “Yes, well, I’m not allowed to divulge who gets a miraculous without express permission.”
“I see” Kagami said. “Well, I still think she’d be good.
“I’ll keep that in mind” Ladybug said. “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome” Kagami said. She closed the door.
“Phw” Ladybug said. She left.
Max was playing some video games when he got a knock at his window. He turned to see it was Judgement Wolf. Max opened the window and let him in. “So, what’s this information?”
“Well, it’s not much…” Max said. “But anything is helpful.”
“Go on…” Judgement Wolf said.
“See, here’s the thing. Carter remembers being controlled by a female Hawk Moth” Max said.
“And?” Judgement Wolf said. He then realized what Max was getting at. “Oh. I see.”
“Yeah…” Max said.
Judgement Wolf smiled. “Well, like you say, any little bit helps. By the way, I have something I need to ask of you. Is it OK for Cat Noir to know that you’re Pegasus?”
“Huh?” Max said. “Uh, sure, I guess? Why?”
“He wants to know” Judgement Wolf said.
“Did something happen between him and Ladybug?” Max asked.
“...You could say that” Judgement Wolf said.
“Well...OK” Max said.
“Max! Katelyn’s here!” his mom called.
Max looked at Judgement Wolf, but before he could say anything, Judgement Wolf said “I understand” and left. Max closed the window.
Ladybug and Judgement Wolf kept asking everyone. During one of Ladybug’s trips, she passed by that middle-aged Chinese man. “Ladybug” he said. He started chasing after her. Cat Noir saw Ladybug taking off. He also saw the man chasing her. “Ladybug!” he screamed.
“That can’t be good” Cat Noir said. He jumped into the middle of the street to meet this man. “Hey, what’s the big idea? Don’t you know there’s only one man in black for Ladybug, and that’s me?”
“Cat Noir” the man said. “Please! Take me to Wang Fu!”
Master Fu? This could be a problem. “Why should I?” Cat Noir asked. “He keeps off the radar for a reason.”
“And yet, I know of him,” the man said. “I figured asking one of Paris’s superheroes would be easier than relying on this.” He pulled out his compass-like device.
“What’s that?” asked Cat Noir.
“It’s a kwami tracker,” the man said. “It can detect kwami energy. But it seems to be on the fritz. It reacted in a bakery, but the couple their didn’t have miraculouses, and they said they were alone in the place.”
Marinette’s bakery? This is bad. Cat Noir stared him down. “Again, why should I take you to Master Fu?”
“Doesn’t my knowledge proceed me?” the man asked.
“You could be using that knowledge against us” Cat Noir exclaimed.
“How rude” The man said. “Maybe Ladybug will be much more kind.”
He tried running past Cat Noir, but he blocked him. “Sorry. Not gonna happen.”
Alya and Nino were chilling in Alya’s room when they got a knock at the window. “Ladybug?” Alya said. She opened the window.
“Hi” Ladybug said.
“What’s up?” Nino asked.
“Well…” Ladybug said. “Would it be alright if I told Cat Noir about you two?”
Alya and Nino were stunned. Still, they had an answer. “Sure Ladybug” Nino said.
“IF you tell us who you are” Alya said.
“That includes Cat Noir!” Nino concluded.
“What?” Ladybug said.
“We’re full-time superheroes too, you know” Alya said.
“If Cat Noir gets to be in the loop, so do we” Nino said. Ladybug was shaken.
The man got mad with Cat Noir. “I guess I have no choice” he said. He opened up his bag and took out an antique sword.
“Woah! I don’t want to fight you” Cat Noir said.
“Unfortunately, that shoe has already dropped” the man said. He charged at Cat Noir. Cat Noir blocked it.
Judgement Wolf was standing on a building. “Where are they?” he said to himself. “I’ll have a look around. If they get here while I’m out, they were late anyway.” He left. He searched the area and found Cat Noir clashing with the man. Cat Noir had pushed the man back and that’s when Judgement Wolf went to meet him. “So, where’s the akuma?” he asked.
“There isn’t one” Cat Noir responded.
“What?” questioned Judgement Wolf.
“Maybe you’ll be a bit nicer,” the man said. “Though I doubt it. Take me to Wang Fu!”
“What?” Judgement Wolf said, even more confused.
“He won’t tell me what’s up” Cat Noir said. “He has intricate knowledge of miraculous stuff.”
“How intricate?” Judgement Wolf asked.
“He has a kwami tracker” Cat Noir said.
“Oh!” Judgement Wolf said.
“This is your final warning before I get serious,” the man said.
“You pulled a sword out! How are you not serious already?!” Cat Noir exclaimed.
The man growled. In Hawk Moth’s lair, Hawk Moth delighted at a new emotion he’s found. “There’s nothing quite like the determination of a man on a mission. Fly away my little akuma, and evilize him!”
The akuma flew off and fused with the kwami tracker. “Hunter Dragon. I am Hawk Moth. You want to meet with the Guardian of the Miraculous? Well, as it turns out, so do I. With the powers I’m giving you, you can push your way past these heroes!”
“Yes Hawk Moth” the man said. A purple-black aura formed around him.
“This is really bad” Cat Noir said. The aura dissipated and out of it came a man wearing golden armor in the image of a Chinese dragon. He retained his sword, which looked a lot more elaborate now, and the kwami tracker. “Get Ladybug!” Cat Noir exclaimed. He charged in, but Hunter Dragon blocked his attack. Judgement Wolf feverishly called Ladybug.
Ladybug got the call. “Ladybug!” Judgement Wolf said. “We have a major situation!”
Ladybug noted the urgency in his voice. “On it! I’m with Rena and Carapace! We’ll come meet with you!” She hung up.
Alya and Nino nodded. “Trixx! Let’s Pounce!”
“Wayzz! Shell On!”
Soon, the three heroes joined Cat Noir and Judgement Wolf. “This guy’s difficult!” Cat Noir said.
“Ah! Ladybug!” Hunter Dragon said. “Take me to Wang Fu!”
“That’s also a problem” Cat Noir said.
“I see!” Ladybug said. “What do you want?”
“I want to meet with Wang Fu!” Hunter Dragon said.
“Not good enough!” Ladybug said. “And there’s no way you’re getting passed all five of us!”
“You’re right, Ladybug!” Hawk Moth said, communicating with Hunter Dragon. “Perhaps we ought to level the playing field.”
Mayura was waiting in the shadows. She plucked a feather from her fan and infused it with energy. The feather flew and hit the kwami tracker, fusing with it as well. “Hunter Dragon. Let your determination create a beast to stop those heroes from getting in your way.”
“Of course” Hunter Dragon agreed. Above him formed a giant, gold, Chinese dragon, that let out a loud and disturbing roar. The heroes looked at Golden Dragon. “Go!” Hunter Dragon called. Golden Dragon swooped down.
Just as it was about to tackle Ladybug, Rena Rouge pushed her out of the way, taking the blow instead. “RENA!” Carapace called out.
Hunter Dragon left the scene. “Cat Noir! Judgement Wolf! Rena, Carapace, and I will take care of the sentimonster! You two keep Hunter Dragon distracted until I get back to you!”
Cat Noir nodded. “Be safe.”
“I will” Ladybug said.
“Judgement Wolf. Let’s go!” Cat Noir said. He followed Hunter Dragon. Judgement Wolf was not far behind. Ladybug and Carapace went in the direction of Golden Dragon.
Rena Rouge was being carried off in Golden Dragon’s mouth. Rena took her flute and struck Golden Dragon in the eye, causing it to let go of her. She began to fall. “Gotcha!” Carapace said, catching Rena. They landed safely, with Ladybug landing soon after.
“I could have landed on my own, you know” Rena Rouge said. “But thanks.”
“Don’t mention it” Carapace said.
“We need to focus” Ladybug said. Golden Dragon let out another vicious roar. It went in for another tackle, but all three heroes dodged it.
Carapace took note of its large sweeping movements as it came around. Golden Dragon tried to strike again, but again they dodged. “I have an idea,” he said. “It’s a bit risky, it should work. I need it centralized around something though.”
Rena got a look at the creature. “It’s big, but not too big… What about the Luxor Obelisk?”
“Perfect!” Carapace said.
“So, now we have a plan” Ladybug said. “All we need to do is get it to Place de la Concorde.”
“I think I can help with that” Rena said, readying her flute.
Meanwhile, Hunter Dragon was alone on a rooftop. Hawk Moth contacted him. “Hunter Dragon. I don’t know where the Master is exactly, but I know where to start looking. Check the right bank of the Seine.”
“On it Hawk Moth” Hunter Dragon said. He continued his trek to find Master Fu.
While he was jumping from building to building on the right bank, Cat Noir smacked him down. “Gotcha!” Cat Noir said.
“Did you?” Hunter Dragon said. He took out his kwami tracker. “Because it looks to me like Wang Fu is nearby.”
Uh oh Cat Noir thought.
“Maybe he is” Judgement Wolf said. But we won’t let you meet him. Especially like this.” He drew his sword and began charging. Hunter Dragon did the same. Before the two clashed swords, Judgement Wolf let go of his sword with his right hand. “Reveal Claw!” The swords clashed. Hunter Dragon pushed down on Judgement Wolf, but that’s exactly what he wanted. “Why do you want to meet with Wang Fu?” He thrust the Reveal Claw into Hunter Dragon.
“I. I want to apologize” he said.
Judgement Wolf was confused. He unlocked his blade and backed up. “Alright, so he may have good intentions” Judgement Wolf said. “But we can’t let him meet the Master like this,” he explained.
“Right” Cat Noir said. The two charged at Hunter Dragon. Hunter Dragon blocked both attacks.
Meanwhile, Golden Dragon was chasing Ladybug, Rena Rouge, and Carapace. “Hey! Over here!” Ladybug said. Golden Dragon charged. However, the heroes they were following were illusions. The real heroes took turns striking it to wear it down, while Golden Dragon was distracted with the mirages.
Eventually, they all made their way to Place de la Concorde. The fake Ladybug went to the top of the Luxor Obelisk, while the fake Rena and Carapace jumped up. Golden Dragon rushed in and wrapped its body around the Obelisk, destroying the fake Rena and Carapace. It then uses its hand to grab the fake Ladybug at the top, only to be confused when it disappeared.
“So, what’s the plan?” Ladybug asked.
Carapace looked determined. “Well, nothing can penetrate my shield” he said. He ran up to the Luxor Obelisk, got as close as possible, and called “Shell-ter!” A shield appeared, surrounding Carapace and Golden Dragon.
“Carapace!” Ladybug called out.
Golden Dragon got irritated. They tried to move, but because they were wrapped around the Obelisk and the shield was present, Golden Dragon couldn’t move. “Yes! It worked! It can’t move because it’s too tight!” Carapace said. “Ladybug! Go help Judgement Wolf and Cat Noir! We should be fine, so long as you can purify the amok and akuma in time!”
Ladybug nodded. “Thanks Carapace! Rena Rouge!” Ladybug left.
Judgement Wolf and Hunter Dragon locked blades again. This time Judgement Wolf was holding his own. They unlocked, and Judgement Wolf jumped up to make way for Cat Noir to strike. However, Hunter Dragon blocked it. Judgement Wolf came down to try and strike from above, but Hunter Dragon dodged. “ENOUGH!” Hunter Dragon said. You will not interrupt my search any longer!” He tried to jump. But Ladybug’ yo-yo caught his foot and he fell to the ground.
“Ladybug!” Cat Noir said. “Is everything OK?”
“For now. But we have to act fast!” Ladybug said. “Lucky Charm!” Ladybug got confused when she got a box that the miraculous are usually kept in. “I don’t get it.” She looked around and saw nothing. “I feel like it’s telling me to go to Master Fu’s, but that seems like a bad idea.”
“Do you know what to do when you get there?” Judgement Wolf said. “Because I’m almost out. I can do it.” Ladybug nodded. She went up to Judgement Wolf and whispered in his ear. “Ah. Clever. Now, you just need to keep him busy!” Judgement Wolf left.
Hunter Dragon tried to follow Judgement Wolf, but Ladybug tied him up again. “Sorry, but you’re going to have to deal with us now.”
“What can you do that the wolf miraculous user can’t?” Hunter Dragon asked.
“Simple. We’ve been a team longer. We know how to move fast and more efficiently” Cat Noir said. “Ready, bugaboo?”
“Ready kitty” Ladybug said. They both ran up together. Cat Noir charged ahead to strike, but Hunter Dragon blocked it. That left Ladybug an opening, which she used to slam her yo-yo into Hunter Dragon.
Hunter Dragon slide back. Ladybug threw her yo-yo , but Hunter Dragon blocked it with his sword. Cat Noir came up and slammed him in the face once he was open. Ladybug realigned her yo-yo and grabbed Hunter Dragon’s sword and yanked it out of his hands.
Hunter Dragon felt his kwami tracker going off. “It appears your efforts were all in vain. The kwami tracker is picking up a huge signal. I see that Wang Fu has appeared.”
Ladybug smiled. “Why don’t you give it a second look?”
Hunter Dragon looked down. The strong signal he once saw split up into many different signals. “Wha?” Kwamis were darting all around him. He turned to face whichever was closest, but he failed to keep up.
“Cat Noir!” Ladybug called.
“On it! Cataclysm!” He ran up and destroyed the kwami tracker. The akuma and amok were set free.
“No more evil doing for the both of you” Ladybug said. She caught both of them “Gotcha! Bye bye you two. Miraculous Ladybug!” she threw the box into the air. The ladybugs fixed all of the damage caused by the incident. The man deakumatized.
At the Place de la Concorde, Carapace was just about to lose endurance while Golden Dragon flailed about. Soon after though, Golden Dragon disappeared. He let his shield down and started breathing heavily. “Hey” Rena said, approaching him. “You did good.” Carapace smiled.
“You may have ruined my hunt this time, Ladybug!” Hawk Moth lamented. “But rest assured, one day I will get your miraculous, and then I will be golden!”
The man got up. “What happened?” he asked.
“Pound it” said the original duo. Both of their miraculouses started to beep.
“I’ll take it from here” Judgement Wolf said, appearing on the scene.
Ladybug and Cat Noir nodded. “Bug out!” Ladybug said. They left together.
Once the two were hidden, they released their transformations. They handed their kwami something to munch on. “Well, that certainly was something” Adrien said.
“Yeah” Marinette said. “Hey, um, about telling you who everyone is... “ Adrien was puzzled. “Rena Rouge and Carapace want to know who we are. Is that alright?”
Adrien smiled. “Of course.” He smiled.
Meanwhile, Judgement Wolf approached the man. “So, might I ask what you want to apologize about?” he asked. The man was confused. “When you were akumatized, I hit you with my power. You said you wanted to apologize to Master Fu.”
The man chuckled. “I guess I can’t keep my pride after all” He said. “Many years ago, my grandfather befriended Wang Fu as a trick to help him and his gang to steal the miraculous and use it for themselves.”
“He’s told me that story” Judgement Wolf said.
“In order to make up for his transgressions, I became an archaeologist, specializing in the miraculous, the Guardians, and all of that,” the man said. “Well, I taught myself all of that. There really isn’t a field of archaeology about all of that.”
“Yeah, I’m not entirely sure why that is” Judgement Wolf said. “It seems to be prevalent throughout history.”
“ During my studies, I learned many things,” the man said. “I was studying one such thing for a while, so I only recently learned about Paris’s superheroes. Based on what I learned, the last Guardian, Wang Fu, had to be there.”
“I see” Judgement Wolf said.
“I was hoping we could team up and figure out what to do from there,” the man said. “But the first thing that happens when I get to Paris is I get akumatized. What luck.”
“It’s alright” Judgement Wolf said. “It can happen to anyone.”
“Except you” the man said.
“You really know your stuff” Judgement Wolf said. He gave Ladybug a call.
“Yeah?” Ladybug answered.
“Meet us at Master Fu’s” Judgement Wolf said. “Our former victim is good.”
“Wow. That means a lot coming from you” Ladybug said. “Hey, listen. One of the caveats to letting Cat Noir in on it is Rena Rouge and Carapace want to know who we are. Is that alright?”
Judgement Wolf smiled. “Fine by me. Have them meet us there as well. We’re going to go over a few things.”
“Right” Ladybug said. She hung up. She looked at Adrien. “Well you know where to go then.”
“Right” Adrien said. Ladybug took off. Adrien walked off.
Alya and Nino were walking down the Champs Elysees. “Man, today was rough” Alya said.
“Tell me about it” Nino said. The two were then grabbed by Ladybug’s yo-yo and dragged into an ally. “Woah!”
“What gives?” Alya asked. She saw Ladybug. “Oh.”
Ladybug took a deep breath. “Tikki! Spots off!” She transformed back into Marinette.
Both of them were stunned. “Marinette…” Nino said.
Alya stared at her. “I can’t believe it…” she said. “My best friend is LADYBUG! Come here, you!” She dashed to Marinette, lifted her up, spun her around, and gave her a hug. She set Marinette down. “I don’t know what to say” she said with tears in her eyes.
“Sorry I had to hide it from you for so long” Marinette said.
“Don’t be” Alya said. “I get it. I completely get it.”
“Thanks” Marinette said.
“So, what about Cat Noir and Judgement Wolf?” Nino asked.
“Follow me” Marinette said. The three walked to Master Fu’s. “Master. I’m here with Rena Rouge and Carapace. Is everyone here?”
“Yes. The kwamis returned safely as well” Master Fu said.
“Great” Marinette said. “Are you ready?” Alya and Nino nodded. Marinette opened the door to reveal Master Fu, the previously akumatized man, Adrien, Plagg, Vlad, and Beyyo. “Now we all know” Marinette said.
“Adrien?! You’re Cat Noir?!” Nino said.
“Yeah” Adrien said.
“WOW!” Alya said.
“I’m here too” Vlad said.
Alya shook her head. “I'm almost not surprised you’re Judgement Wolf” she said. “I felt it when you first tested me.”
Vlad pouted. “Don’t worry, she figured me out right away as well” Nino said.
“Anyway, Zhang Hao-yu here was just explaining to me his situation” Master Fu said. “Please continue.”
“Right…” Hao-yu said. Everyone sat down and listened to his story.
“That’s...a lot” Alya said.
“Indeed” Master Fu said. “I will accept your deal and forgive you,” he said.
“Thank you” Hao-yu said. “Maybe we can work together to take down Hawk Moth!”
“I would like that” Master Fu said.
“Speaking of,” Adrien said, “Vlad, you say you had some info on Hawk Moth?”
“Right” Vlad said. “So, according to Max, Carter distinctly remembers a female Hawk Moth. Not sure what it means.”
Marinette and Adrien looked at each other. “You don’t think…?” Adrien said.
“It could be…” Marinette said.
“Mayura!” they concluded.
Alya giggled. “You two compliment each other so well.”
“Wait, how does Max know who you are?” Nino asked.
Vlad sighed. “Now, it’s time for the juicy stuff,” he said. “Promise you won’t tell anybody!” Alya and Nino nodded. Vlad gave Marinette a look and she nodded. They let out all of the identities of the other heroes.
“Well, as much as I would like to continue, I would actually like Zhang Hao-yu’s help with something” Master Fu said.
“Really?” Hao-yu said.
“Of course. This might take a while, and it is a school night for all of you. So, it might be best for you to leave” Master Fu said.
Marinette nodded. “Thanks Master.”
“By the way, those were her parents you met earlier” Adrien said.
“What?” Marinette said.
“I stopped by a bakery while I was out” Hao-yu said. “My kwami tracker pick up Tikki’s presence. I guess I must have missed you.”
“Oh, I see…” Marinette said.
“The croissant I got was really good. I might have to stop by again” Hao-yu said.
“Thanks” Marinette said. “Bye!” The five teens walked out, unified and stronger than ever.

My shipping post
That no one asked for...
Hey everyone! I'm a crazy shipper and I've seen these going around forever, so why not do one, right? I know that I don't NEED to justify my ships, I believe in letting people enjoy things, cause shipping doesn't directly harm anyone. But that said, I love sharing and possibly meeting other fans. I'll give a little background for each, since I know not everyone is into everything. So now, in no particular order, my top ships atm!
Nalu (Natsu/Lucy, Fairy Tail)
Natsu and Lucy have this bond that's is stronger than Best Friends. They do everything together, ever since he brought her into Fairy Tail. Natsu, while protective of all his friends, is extra protective of Lucy, and she risked life and literally limb, more than once, to save him. Plus he uprooted an entire rainbow sakura tree to make her happy! These two are my current top OTP.
Gajevy/Gale (Gajeel/Levy, Fairy Tail)
I call them the Vegeta/Bulma with more feels ship. It's an enemies turned eventually to lovers pair. The super intelligent bookish script mage and the big scary dragon slayer that formally attacked her team and destroyed her guild. Once he became a member of that same guild, he started to soften to her, and she forgave him and teamed up with him, and started to fall for him. She taught him what it meant to love. His confession was heartbreaking. I just loved their development, it may have been the most of any of the "canon" couples in the series.
Kacchako (Bakugou/Uraraka, My Hero Academia)
I multiship this show like woah right now, and would take a whole post just listing them all. And yes I ship Izu*cha and Kiribaku as well, among many other combinations. I also have no expectations of THIS ship being canon at all. But it's so intriguing to me. This is more a ship of possibilities. Bakugou noticed her and recognized her strength, something he doesn't do with most people. I wanna see him become a better person, and I feel her influence, along with him caring about someone else, could help that along. Likewise I feel he could help push Uraraka to be stronger and more confident in her abilities. Plus their combined quirks would just be pretty awesome!
Adrienette/Ladynoir/Marichat/Ladrien (Adrien/Marinette, Miraculous Ladybug)
Hopeless, oblivious, cinnamon rolls. She has a crush on him in their civilian life, he has a crush on her in their superhero life. They don't know each others identities. Hijinks ensue! I'm weak for it! Of the love square, I think Marichat is my favorite fandomwise, once again, for the possibilities. If she realizes she has feeling for Chat Noir, and he realizes he has feeling for Marinette, then the square is complete, and I feel they will also have fallen for each other's most relaxed, natural personas.
Zelink (Zelda/Link, Legend of Zelda series)
I have shipped most incarnations of them together since Ocarina of Time. Sort of the classic hero/princess tropes, but with the story changing a bit each incarnation. I'm kind of hung up on Breath of the Wild Zelink at the moment. This Zelda is more science/scholarly, and rather tsundere toward Link, eventually falling in love with him.
Gourina (Gourry/Lina, Slayers)
This is my all time OTP. One of the earliest animes I got into, and one of my earliest ships. The crazy, hot headed, distructive sorceress with a good heart, and her not to bright swordsman and self appointed protector. He had vowed to stick with her for the rest of his life, and they are cute in their oblivious yet obvious way.
Sokai (Sora/Kairi, Kingdom Hearts series)
More cinnamon rolls, this time separated by worlds, trying to get back to eachother. These dorks are best friends who seem to be falling for eachother, but get caught up in a grand, multiple world saving adventure. I'll admit I fell out after KH2, not having the game systems to play all the side games. But with KH3 (hopefully) dropping rather soon, I'm falling back into it.
Cullen/Inquisitor (Dragon Age Inquisition)
Ok I have a bunch of Romance Canons in the Dragon Age Universe, and some I haven't gotten to do yet but plan to (like Dorian or Bull). But right now my favorite ship is the Inquisitor and Cullen. Especially a mage Inquisitor. It kinda makes for that whole star crossed love between a mage and a (former) templar thing, which is taboo in that universe. Cullen's been through some shit, and he's trying to better himself, and I just want to hug him. Their romance is rather sweet, in the middle of a war.
I have soooooooo many more ships that I could go on for a while, but I won't do that to your dashboard (especially since I can't put this under a cut on mobile), and you'd probably lose interest, if you had enough to read this! These are just the ships that I've invested time/energy into lately. I know not everyone will agree with all of them, but ship and let ship, its fiction, ya know?
And if you are into any of these ships, feel free to follow, this is mostly the shipping content I'll reblog! I've found some great fandom communities out of some of these! ❤❤❤

Me attempting to write this chapter:
This fic started as something DRASTICALLY different before I started posting it. The following couple of chapters are edited versions of chapters I wrote over a YEAR ago.
Thanks to @ageisia for being my amazing beta!

Chapter 6: Slow and Steady
Nino strolled through the Parisian afternoon, Daft Punk blaring through his headphones, the warm August air wafting around him. On his way to Alya's house to study, he had his backpack slung over his shoulder, loaded with school books, a few albums Alya wanted to borrow, and a copy of Interstella 5555 he'd borrowed from Adrien. Nino was disappointed he hadn't known his favorite artists had a movie based on their music, but he was still excited to share it with Alya.
He blushed and smiled as his mind turned to Alya. Her fire, her passion, her drive, all so intoxicating, inspiring. Who knew all it took to get a sort-of-semi-unofficial-girlfriend was to have a superhero lock you in a gorilla cage for a few hours? Maybe Marinette and Adrien should try 'couple’s cage therapy' sometime. He bobbed his head to the beat and managed to dance around every pedestrian on the sidewalk between his house and his destinationl. Well, almost every pedestrian. In the middle of singing, he didn't notice the short Asian man with a box full of old books in his arms.
“One more time/Music's got me feeling so free/We're gonna celebrate/Celebrate and dance sowoOOOOAHHHH!”
Both men went to the sidewalk, books scattered, and Nino's backpack, the zipper already on its last legs, split open spilling his homework and CDs everywhere. 'Note to self: ask for a new backpack for Christmas.' Nino scrambled to clean the mess, blurting apologies interspersed with swears and thankful none of his CDs were scratched. Satisfied his homework was back in his torn bag, he turned to the old man, whose lips were moving, but with his headphones still on, Nino couldn't hear a word of it.
He pushed the headphones down on his neck. “Sorry, what was that?”
“I said there's no reason to apologize. I was moving too slow for an energetic young man such as yourself.”
Nino waved his hands. “No, no dude! I was the one not paying attention. Here, let me help.”
He snatched up some books and stacked them as best he could back in the old cardboard box. Some paperback Louis L'Amour westerns, Candide by Voltaire, a worn out copy of Through the Looking Glass, and a much older book knocked open to...a picture of Volpina? Nino plunked the books in his hands back into the box, his eyes never leaving the fox woman. He lifted the book and ran his darkening eyes over the ninja-esque figure and the strange writing. The image wasn't exactly like Volpina, but the tail-like sash, the ears, and the flute were similar enough.
“Why...do you have a book about Volpina?” he asked through gritted teeth. If one were asked to describe Nino, the words loyal, friendly, and chill might come up, but you would never hear angry or vengeful, and he wasn't. Unless it involved a particular fox-themed villain and his best friend. Yeah, Adrien had been caught up in Akuma attacks before. Turned into a brainwashed knight, his car blown up by an invisible bazooka, cocooned in purple slime, but Volpina had targeted him. Made it personal.
The old man took one look at the book, grimaced, and pulled it from Nino's hands. “It's not just about Volpina. It contains passages on all of the Miraculous heroes.”
“Hero?” Nino stared at the old man as though he'd told him 'Hawkmoth just needs a friend'. “She threatened my best bud's life!”
“That was an Akuma forged from the pain in a lonely girl's heart.” The old man spoke in hushed yet intense tones. “The real fox is a hero, I assure you.” Nino grumbled under his breath, and the old man sighed. “You must truly care about your friend.”
Nino face softened. “I do! I'm like his only friend. A-and he's been through so much crap, and not just 'cause of Hawkmoth.” He removed his hat and scratched through his bristly hair. “His mom disappeared four years ago, his dad works him to the bone and lets him have, like, no fun even when he has down time, and he's head-over-heels for a superhero he has zero chance with when there's this girl in our class, literally right behind him, who...” He trailed off and blinked. “Why am I telling you all this?”
The old man smiled and stashed the mysterious book in the box. “Perhaps you simply needed to vent to a welcoming ear.” Nino nodded and shrugged, his eyes averted. “Help me carry these books into my shop and I'll continue listening.”
Nino weighed his options. Alya wasn't expecting him for another half hour, and he owed this old man after knocking him over. He nodded again, stacked his backpack on top of the box and hefted it up into his arms. “Woah! This is heavier than it looks. You must have some real guns, old ma...uh, s-sir.”
If he minded being called 'old man', he didn't let it show. “More like muskets at my age,” he joked. “Come, this way.”
It was only a few more meters down the sidewalk before the old man pulled a key ring from his pocket and unlocked the door beneath a sign reading Fu Masseuse. A short hallway lead to three doors, two on the left, one on the right, the latter of which the old man opened and gestured for Nino to enter. Inside was a sparsely decorated room with bamboo flooring and several scrolls covered with what Nino could only assume was Chinese dotting the walls. A thin mattress sat in the center of the floor beside a round table covered in candles and an incense burner. A small bookshelf sat in the far right corner close to a dresser with an old phonograph on top. Nino dropped the box next to this bookshelf, and leaned in to get a closer look at the antique phonograph. Definite Asian influence in the design. Intricate etching in the bell, a pair of dragons on the front, both with ruby eyes, and a flower-patterned inlay around the octagonal base.
“Got anything good on vinyl?”
The old man hobbled up to the young man, a cane now in his hand. “Pavarotti, Maria Callas, an autographed copy of Thriller somewhere, but don't bother. That old thing hasn't worked in over a hundred years.”
“Probably make bank at auction. The copy of Thriller, too.”
“Sentimental value; it belonged to my mentor.” The old man turned his eyes up to Nino. “And I'm not parting with Michael for anything.” He turned back to the thin mattress pad, sat cross-legged upon it, and motioned for Nino to join him. Nino felt like he should kick off his shoes, which he did before sitting down.
“No need for such formalities, Nino. You're a guest here.”
“Sorry, sir, it just felt like I should...” Nino paused and slanted his eyes at his companion. “I...never gave you my name.”
The old man's eyebrows raised, then he sighed, realizing his error. “I must confess something to you. Our meeting this afternoon was no accident. I've had my eyes on you for some time, and the reason as to why is actually related to the book you saw.” Nino's eyes widened. “Ladybug delivered that book to me about two weeks ago, just after she and Chat Noir defeated Volpina. I don't know where she found it, but that tome, the Qíjī Shū it's called, has been lost for centuries. With its reappearance, and Hawkmoth somehow knowing far more about the fox hero than he should, I can only assume it was in his possession.”
“A book full of superhero secrets in the hands of a supervillain? That's heavy.” Nino adjusted his glasses. “But why did LB give the book to you?”
He sat straighter and said, “I am Master Fu, the Great Guardian of the Miraculous. I protect the jewels when they are inactive and choose wielders when fate demands it. She believed it best that I have the book so I may translate the passages.” He slumped again and shook his head. “We don't know if Hawkmoth managed to translate any of the pages, discovered secrets of his own powers, but we must be prepared for the worst, and that is why I have deemed it necessary to pass on the few jewels that remain in my possession.”
Nino blinked. “Uh, what does this have to do with me?”
A grin spread across Master Fu's face. “Is it not obvious, Nino? I wish to pass one of the Miraculous to you.” The DJ's mouth fell agape, but Fu continued before Nino could speak. “This conversation wasn't my original intention, but it seems fate has decided a different course for us. How exciting.”
“N-no way, dude,” Nino stammered. He scrambled to his feet and paced the room. “No. Friggin. Way. There's no way I can be a superhero! I've got too much on my plate as it is! School and friends, DJ gigs, a girlfriend...” He stopped and wrenched his hands together, a blush creeping up on his face. “Well, she's sorta my girlfriend. I-it's nothing official, yet. I mean, it’s official-ish, but...” His eyes flicked back to the smiling Guardian. “Again! Why am I telling you this?”
“You are open and honest,” Master Fu shrugged, “if not a little disorganized and impulsive, which is why I believe the stability and focus of the turtle would suit you well.”
Nino raised an eyebrow at this. “Turtle?”
“Yes, a symbol of protection and wisdom. A passive, defensive hero.” Master Fu struggled to his feet, and Nino scrambled to help him up. Master Fu limped over to Nino's backpack and from it, withdrew a hexagonal black box, the lid etched with red designs similar to those on the phonograph. He smiled and held the box out to Nino. “Your moral compass and desire to protect your friends will make you an excellent hero, despite what you may think.”
Nino looked from the box to Master Fu, then took a breath. “And if I say no?”
“Then we shake hands, part ways, and I choose someone else.” This response surprised Nino, a reaction the Guardian didn't miss. “Fate is far less rigid than people believe. Most perceive fate as railroad tracks, linear and uncompromising, when it is more like a curving mountain path, full of detours and shortcuts that all lead to the same destination.”
Nino glanced down at the box as though to may bite him, apprehension evident in his eyes. Fu sighed and withdrew the box. “The choice is ultimately yours, Nino, but if you decide to embrace the hero you could become, I will make you this promise: should you ever change your mind, you may return the Miraculous to me, and I will accept it without question.”
(#)
Nino couldn't focus while studying with Alya. He couldn't focus while playing his new demo for her. He couldn't focus while some jerk brainwashed a band of blue-skinned aliens to the tune of Harder Better Faster Stronger. Every time he thought he could enjoy her company, the music, or the movie, his mind drifted to the black box in his pocket. Why had he accepted it? Was it the thought of being a hero? Was it the knowledge that he had an easy way out?
No. It was a conversation he'd had with Adrien last week.
“Seriously, dude, do you know who she is?”
“For the last time, Nino, I don't, and even if I did, what would you do?”
“Some crazy fox chick attacks you in your own bedroom and you want me to do nothing?”
“Just drop it, buddy. Akumas can't be held responsible for their actions, and attacking L...an innocent girl wouldn't do any good. There's nothing you can do.”
“You okay, Nin?” Alya asked from her bed. He sat on the floor, his back to her mattress, to her, his right hand scribbling notes, his left rubbing the hexagonal bulge in his jeans. At Alya's question, he tilted his head back and met her upside-down gaze.
“Yeah, just...a lot on my mind.”
“Still hung up on the Volpina thing?”
Nino huffed. “Is it that obvious?”
“I know how you feel, babe.” She rolled over so her head rested beside his. “When Evillustrator,” she paused and her face fell, “still a stupid name by the way, got all stalky, creepy with Marinette, I wanted to get my murder on, just like you do with Volpina. But we have to realize the Akumas are just victims of a middle-aged loser obsessed with magic jewelry.” Nino snorted back a laugh. “We can't hold their actions against them. How would you feel if every adult in Paris demanded your head on a pike?”
“About the same as you if Chloé realized you were the one who revealed her Ladybug cosplay fetish to the city.”
The pair giggled together. Though Alya made it Ladyblog policy to keep Akuma identities as confidential as possible, the two of them were fully aware of each other's 'dark side' and openly mocked them as an inside joke. Tonight, however, Nino's laughter faded quicker than Alya's, and this did not escape her notice.
“Nin, look, I understand Akuma attacks are different when it’s your friends in the crossfire, but since we're not superheroes, as awesome as that would be, we just have to trust Ladybug, Chat Noir, and Queen Bee to do their jobs.” He didn't seem satisfied by her words, and Alya sighed. “If you really want to help out, you can put your amateur director skills to work and get me footage for the blog.”
Nino nodded and smiled, but more to placate her, not because he accepted her advice. She turned over and planted a quick peck on his forehead before they moved back to studying, but Nino's heart wasn't in it anymore. We're not superheroes, she had said. There's nothing you can do, Adrien had said. Nino's left hand tightened around the box in his pocket.
They were both wrong.
(#)
Nino finally left Alya's house just after sunset, making some excuse about helping an old relative with some furniture. He traveled a few blocks away and ducked into an alleyway when he was sure no one was looking. He pulled the box from his pocket, but stopped himself when his fingers brushed the lid. Why did this feel like the point of no return? Master Fu had given him permission to give the Miraculous back if he wanted, so where did this sense of impending doom come from? Why did it feel like the weight of the world was about to fall on his shoulders? Nino shook his head. It was just the responsibility that came with being a superhero. That's all it was.
He flipped open the lid and an orb of green light rose from the box. Nino stood transfixed on the orb, which soon solidified into the strangest creature he'd had ever seen. A small chartreuse...fairy?...with a bulbous head, a tiny shell on its back, stubby flippers instead of limbs, and an antenna on top of its head. It opened its eyes, bright yellow with dots of green in the center, and smiled at Nino.
“It is a pleasure to meet you at last, Master Nino.” Nino had witnessed many oddities since Hawkmoth first reared his ugly head. Hell, he'd even been turned into a girl once, so he shouldn't have been surprised when a small floating turtle popped out of a box and called him 'master.' But he was. He attempted to babble out some form of greeting, but the small fairy ignored the inarticulate muttering. “I am Wayzz, kwami of the Turtle Bracelet. I look forward to working with you.”
“Uh, m-my name's Nino!” He straightened his back. “But you already knew that! Right,” he chuckled and fiddled with his hat, “yeah. Um, I...really don't know what I'm doing or why I agreed to all of this, but...”
“Ah, spontaneous, unfocused, you remind me of Master Fu when he was young.” Wayzz narrowed his eyes and brought a flipper to his chin. “Though I suppose it's just Fu now.”
“Wait, you're Master Fu's, uh, Kumi?”
“Kwami,” Wayzz corrected. “And yes, I was, but in his advanced age, he has decided to retire the mantle of Yù Guī and pass the Turtle Miraculous to you.”
The weight dropped even heavier onto Nino's shoulders. Not only did he have a Miraculous, an opportunity to become a hero, but it was the Guardian's Miraculous. Why did Master Fu trust him with something like this, trust him to be his successor? And why him? Why not someone else? Brave Kim, gentle giant Ivan, intelligent Max...
“Why me?” The question of the hour. “What do I have that makes me a hero? He called me impulsive and disorganized, and you said pretty much the same thing, but then he said the turtle is stable and focused. Why make me a hero when it's clear I don't fit the bill?”
Wayzz chuckled. “If you only knew how many times I have heard that exact question.” The kwami floated up to better look into Nino's eyes. “Miraculous are not granted to those who match their traits, but rather to those who need their traits. This is what allows you to grow and develop, not just as a hero, but as a person. So, Master Nino, what kind of hero will you become?”
Nino looked from Wayzz to the open box still in his hand. Inside sat a green stone oval carved in the likeness of a turtle. Arms, legs, and a head jutted from the sides of the intricately etched carapace. The thin leather strap attached to either end of the oval looked almost too large for his wrist. He lifted the bracelet from the box, surprised by the tingle in his fingers as he touched it, and started to slip it over his left wrist. He thought again, then slipped it over his right hand, thinking to camouflage it with the rest of his bracelets. Just as the jade stone settled on his skin, the leather band contracted, setting it firmly in place. Nino's eyes widened and he brought the bracelet to his face.
“Well, that was freaky,” he muttered. “What now?”
“Simply say 'Shell Up' to transform, and I will walk you through your powers.”
Nino blinked and clenched his fist. This was it. The plunge. He was about to become a superhero. He held up his wrist and squinted. “Shell...Sh-Shell...”
(#)
Nino eased open the door to his home, his head low and his hat sitting awkwardly on his head due to an unexpected passenger. He tried his best to keep quiet, considering he'd taken his time coming home and it was now almost nine o'clock. However, he wasn't quiet enough. Around the corner came Sophia Lahiffe, a bronze skinned woman with wavy brown hair down to the middle of her back, chocolate eyes, and multitudes of jewelry hanging from her ears and neck.
She planted her fists on her hips and shouted, “Imanino Lahiffe! Where in aljahim have you been? No texts, no calls, no anything! Were you out with the Césaire girl again?”
“Mom...”
“Answer me, Nino.”
Nino shifted from foot to foot and rubbed the back of his head. “Well, yeah, I was over at her place studying.”
Sophia raised an eyebrow. “Just studying?”
Nino grimaced and groaned. “Mom, we’re too young to be...having...you know…”
She furrowed her brow, then her eyes widened when realization struck. “No, no! I know you are more responsible than to have sex this young…”
“Mom!”
“I’m more worried about you getting lassoed into her Ladyblug shenanigans.”
“It’s ‘Ladyblog’, and no. I’ve been trying to talk her out of doing crazy, dangerous stuff. We were just studying, okay?”
Sophia looked him up and down, as though trying to find some hole in his story, then huffed and pushed back his hat to kiss him on the forehead. He slapped a hand on top of his head to hold the hat in place. “Hungry, ghaliti?”
“Uh, n-n-no,” he stammered, adjusting his hat. “I ate with Alya. Her mom makes the best chicken piccata ever. But uh,” his eyes drifted to his hat. “I could use a snack before bed. Do we have any carrots?”
A few minutes later, Nino wished his mother goodnight and staggered into his room with no further interrogation. The moment his door closed, he took his hat off and let Wayzz float down to his bed. “Sorry for being so rough, little buddy,” Nino apologized, his hand held out to offer some chopped carrots. “Couldn't let my mom see you.”
Wayzz shook his head and accepted a carrot. “No worries, Master. Kwamis are more durable than you think.”
Nino opened the closet door beside his bed and changed into his pajamas while Wayzz continued to munch on his carrots on the bed. The kwami ran his eyes over the immaculately organized room, marveling at how Nino’s desk at the foot of the bed looked so out of place. Random papers, stacks of CDs, empty energy drink cans. The signs of an artist. Wayzz smiled. Nino was more like Fu than he knew. When Nino finally flopped on his bed and folded his hands behind his head, Wayzz floated up and settled on the pillow next to his head.
“Tired already, Master?”
Nino turned his head to face the kwami. “Why do you keep calling me ‘Master’?”
“Because that is what you are.” Wayzz tilted his head when Nino shifted uncomfortably on the sheets. “Do...you not wish me to?”
“Well...master, servant, it just doesn’t sit well with me.” He raised his right arm over his head and glanced at the bracelet.” Especially since I only just got this thing.” He let his arm drop and sighed. “I'm...sorry I couldn't transform earlier. It feels like everything’s moving too fast.”
“Again, Ma...Nino, no worries. You will come to accept your powers in time. Just sleep, get some rest. Tomorrow is another day.”

A twinkly jingle emerged from Alya's phone at 7 AM on the dot. The device's vibrations made the little ladybug charm dance on the girl's bedside table. Alya swatted the phone twice before she managed to grasp it and swipe a finger across the screen. The jingle died and she dragged herself out of bed, her face stretched into a yawn. She danced around piles of dirty clothes and found her way to the chair at her computer desk. A jiggle of her mouse awoke the machine and the Ladyblog homepage bloomed across the twin monitors. Alya refreshed the blog pages, and noted that her Glutoneer footage had received a respectable number of hits. She checked the forums, and noted nothing new besides another shipping war between the LadyNoirs and the VolpiNoirs that she needed to shut down.
A new image on the speculation boards caught her eye, and she clicked over to a picture of a yellow and red blur. Alya squinted at the picture. Was that...Queen Bee tackling Ladybug? Some of the commenters believed not all was right and peaceful between the heroes, but Alya brushed it off. While Queen Bee was a little...abrasive, she wasn’t a bad person, and it seemed as though she adored Ladybug. Maybe she could ask Ladybug the next time she agreed to an interview. The scent of sweet nirvana wafting beneath her door interrupted Alya’s thoughts, and she inhaled deeply. Mom was home.
Alya picked out her clothes for the day, black jeans and a violet t-shirt with a pink wifi symbol on it, and made her way out into the family kitchen. A seven-year-old brunette sat on a stool beside the kitchen island, shoveling cereal into her mouth. She had her hair pulled back into pigtails, surprisingly because of Marinette rather than Ladybug, as the young girl became enamored with the hairstyle after she had first met the designer. The girl smiled when Alya entered the room, her little chipmunk cheeks bulging, and turned back to her breakfast. Their mother wasn't in the room, but evidence of her presence sat in the full and steaming coffee pot beside the stove.
“Morning, Cici,” Alya said as she poured herself a cup of coffee and pulled a bottle of creamer from the refrigerator.
Cici swallowed. “Morning, Allie!” She cocked her head to the side when Alya brought the Ladybug mug (Ladymug, Alya thought. I'm hilarious!) to her lips. “What's that black stuff you and Momma drink every morning?”
Alya smiled and lowered her mug. “It's a magic elixir designed to turn zombies back into normal human beings,” she intoned, waggling her fingers for effect.
Cici's eyes became saucers. “You're a zombie?”
Alya shrugged. “We all are, through Mom. Well, technically, we're half-vampire. Ever wonder why she works all night and sleeps all day?”
The look of awe on her sister's face made Alya's morning, especially when their mother walked into the kitchen, still in her chef whites, and poured her own cup of coffee. “Alya, stop telling Cecilia I'm a vampire.” She threw on a Romanian accent and whispered, still loud enough for Cici to hear, “I don't vant her to get suspicious.” She threw her head back, cackled, and passed back out of the kitchen, likely to dress down into her pajamas.
Cici giggled and Alya poured more coffee into a small thermos, paused, then filled another. After talking to Marinette on Discord last night, Alya knew she would need a pick-me-up. More footsteps came into the kitchen and Alya turned to face pixie cut red hair and thick-rimmed glasses around brown eyes. The girl could almost be confused for a younger version of Alya, had their tastes in fashion aligned. While the eldest preferred jeans and button up shirts, her younger sister stuck to skirts with tights underneath and a myriad of t-shirts plastered with various band logos, a good number suggested by Nino as of late.
“Good morning, all,” the thirteen-year-old sang. She eyed Alya's coffee, crossed her arms, and sighed. “What a sad day when youthful exuberance and enthusiasm is replaced with caffeine...” She picked up the creamer and turned the bottle to sneer at the ingredients list. “And artificial flavors.”
Alya snatched the bottle away her sister. “It's these 'artificial flavors' that keep me sane during the day, Chess,” she hissed.
“I'm just saying,” Chess grinned as she retrieved a bottle of almond milk from the fridge. “Would it kill you to go organic?”
“It would kill Mom's wallet,” Alya scoffed. “You know, I give your health food kick another week before you're back to eating garbage like the rest of us mortals.”
“I thought we were vampires,” Cici pouted at Alya.
“We are, Cici. That's why Fran is so skinny,” she teased with the nickname her sister hated. “She can't find any free range, non-GMO pig blood.”
Chess opened her mouth to protest, but their mother barged into the kitchen yet again, this time in white fleece pajama pants and a dark blue tank top, her hair pulled from its bun. “No more arguing. You all need to get,” she planted a kiss on Cici's cheek, “to,” a kiss for Chess, “school.” Alya got the last kiss of the morning and the trio of Césaire's marched of for their school bags and shoes.
“Momma,” Cici started. Her mother looked down with a smile. “If you're a vampire, then what was daddy?”
Marlena's smile faded and an awkward silence fell over the household. Alya shifted from foot to foot and her mother stammered in her search for an answer. The only one seemingly unaffected was Chess, who broke the silence.
“The invisible man, obviously.”
Marlena whirled towards her daughter. “Francesca!”
She threw up her arms. “Hey! Don't get mad at me just because her dad...”
“Our dad,” Alya asserted with a firm hand on her sister's shoulder. Chess looked to Alya, then to their mother, whose frustration was visible in her eyes. “We can talk about this later.”
After a few seconds, Chess relented. The three girls threw their bags over their shoulders and walked out into the cool morning. They stood outside long enough for Cici to hop on the bus to her school, the averted shouting match gone from her thoughts. Chess and Alya waved goodbye, smiles on their faces, however, the moment the bus rounded the corner, the middle sister scowled.
“Don't you think she's old enough to know she's not really our sister?”
“She is our sister, Chess.”
Chess huffed. “We have different fathers!”
Alya jabbed a finger into Chess' face. “I don't care if she's one-hundred-percent adopted.” Alya leaned in. “She. Is. Our. Sister.”
The pair walked towards Francoise-Dupont in silence. A few blocks down, Alya sighed. “Look, I want to tell her the truth as much as you, but Mom said to keep it quiet until she's old enough to understand. I hate lying to her, but making Cici feel like she's not part of the family? I hate that even more.” She met her younger sister's eyes. “She deserves to know the truth, just...not now.” Chess nodded, seeming to accept this answer.
“Pardon me,” came a soft voice from behind them. The girls turned to face a short, older man with a gray receding hairline, a mustache with pointed goatee, and a red Hawaiian shirt covered in white flowers. He hunched over his cane and asked, “I'm sorry to trouble you, but I seem to have left my wallet at home. Could you please spare some change for bus fare?”
Chess shrugged. “I got nothin'. Sorry.” She kept walking while Alya dug through her purse and pockets. She managed to scrape together something for the man and deposited the coins into his waiting hands.
“Thank you so much,” he smiled. “I think it's wonderful that you care so much for your family.” Alya's eyebrow quirked and the old man blushed. “Oh, forgive my eavesdropping.”
“It's no problem,” she chuckled. “I'm the eldest, so I have to look out for them all the time. Cici, the youngest, looks up to me, like I'm her hero.”
A wild glint flashed in his eyes. “And a fine hero I'm sure you make.”
Alya grinned and looked over her shoulder to see Chess almost disappeared into the crowd. “Sorry, gotta go. Gonna be late for school.”
Alya turned and ran after her sister, leaving the old man to stroke his beard and gaze after her. “A fine hero, indeed.”

Awakening
Awakening
Marinette coughed, waving her hand to get dust out of her face. It was so dirty in her aunt’s attic, so dirty that it was a good thing they were finally cleaning.
She grabbed a picture and studied the ridiculous dress the person was wearing; the colors didn’t match at all. It was poofy and orange and lime green and she was rather horrified.
“Hey Aunt Huang, who’s this?” she waved the picture at her aunt who groaned upon noticing it.
“Oh, must you find embarrassing pictures of me honey?” Her aunt came over to look, “this was from a dance I went to some years ago,”
“Wow, it’s uh…” Marinette couldn’t think of a polite way to say that the dress was horrible.
Her aunt laughed, “I know, I looked ridiculous! That dress is still here somewhere if you want to re-purpose it though.”
Marinette perked up, “that’d be awesome!” She placed the picture in the box for them and moved to peek at another item.
Marinette dug out a yellow dress with lace on it that did not look like it’d be very flattering. Her aunt quickly stuffed it in a different box
“that’s nothing important dear, no need to worry.
“Awww, Aunt Huuuaang”
“It was a dress for a wedding I attended,” she sniffed, “It was a very popular style at the time.”
Marinette grinned, “If you say so Aunt Huang”
The afternoon passed cheerfully, the two laughing as her aunt told her the stories behind the different items. There were some interesting old pieces of clothing and books that her aunt let her stick into a box to take home.
Marinette rummaged through some boxes, finding a few pretty ones. She picked one up and realized it had something in it. Opening it she saw assorted jewelry pieces in a very pretty jewelry box. There were a few earrings on one side with some rings beneath it. The other side had some bracelets and necklaces.
“Wow” she murmured.
“What’d you find hun?” Her aunt questioned from behind her.
“A jewelry box. The earrings are so pretty, and this necklace is super cute! Oh and that bracelet,” she lifted it from the box to let the green bangle catch the light,” it would look perfect with the skirt I’m working on.”
“Well pick a few pieces. Or all of them if you’d like!” Her aunt chuckled, “I think that was my moms. I’m certainly never going to wear them.”
“Really? Oh that’s wonderful. Thank you Aunt Huang!” Marinette threw her arms around her aunt but then squawked and frantically lunged for the box that was plummeting to it’s demise. “Heh heh, sorry”
Her aunt laughed and ruffled her hair. “It’s fine honey. Though I think we’d better head down now. It’s about time for you to be getting home.”
“Coming,” Marinette quickly put the jewelry box into her crate of stuff and her aunt helped her carry down.
———————————
Marinette plopped into her seat; now that she was home she could look over her findings from her aunt’s.
She dug through the box, pulling out a few dresses and shirts and studying them. Some of the dresses had some pretty lace and one had some beautiful embroidery. ‘And that one shirt would be so pretty with a little bit of embroidery and a fixed seam.’
She pulled out a few books, one on some Chinese myths. Two were in Mandarin but the covers looked interesting so she thought she’d try to translate them. There was one book on constellations and even one on fashion! She was really interested in that one.
Glancing back at the box she pulled out a pretty hair comb and a few hair pins. She was totally going to add that to one of her projects, the hair comb was so pretty with a pattern like flames in elegant red shot through with gold in a fashion that almost made it appear on fire.
Finally, she pulled out the jewelry box. She decided to start with the necklaces. Bringing the box over to her closet she started matching necklaces to the outfits.
‘The red choker with the Chinese symbol on it would look great with that shirt. Oh and the one with cherry blossom charms on it would match her favorite shirt. And this gold one with stars hanging on it gave her a great idea for a dress.’
She pulled out the green bangle and compared it to the skirt she was making, she was happy to see it was the perfect shade. She placed it next to the skirt and pulled out another bracelet. ‘The woven one looked nice’, she thought as she dug through her closet and found a jacket it matched.
‘And this blue one with waves patterned on it would go perfect with that pair of pants, and with that shirt… oh she had a great idea!’
She quickly looked through the rings and found a small pearl one. That would be perfect to tie the design together and she could add some small pearls to the shirt, and change the pants buttons to pearl ones… she loved it.
Looking through the rings she decided she really liked the one with the red and orange stone and the one that looked like a dragon. She’d have to make an outfit based on both. And they both matched the hair comb so it’d be a win-win.
She poked through the earrings and put on the star ones, studying her reflection in the mirror. They were so sparkly. She quickly removed them and put on the silver ones with the pearl, those matched that bracelet and would match the outfit she was making, perfect.
She studied the red ones with black spots, were those ruby? And obsidian maybe? They’re so pretty. She put them on to see and studied her reflection. It looked nice. She reached up to remove them, already thinking about a design she could make to match them, maybe a ladybug theme, when they suddenly lit up.
She shrieked and stumbled back as a burst of light came out of the earrings and solidified into a small bug… rat thing….
“AHHH WHAT IS THA- WHAT!!” Marinette leapt back and scrambled away. “IT’S A BUG RAT! RAT BUG!”
She threw a pillow at it, then another, then a flashlight and a pin cushion and her clock.
“Wait, I’m-“ the thing dodged and Marinette was horrified, it was flying, it was talking, “I’m Tik- hi, I’m not going to hur-please wait-“
Marinette grabbed one of her vases and trapped the- the thing in it.
“Okay miss, if this makes you more comfortable.”
“What are you, you’re- you’re flying and- and talk- talking wha- what the f*ck?” Marinette shook slightly as she stared at the red and black creature
“I’m Tikki,” The bug-rat smiled, “the kwami of the ladybug miraculous. And you are?”
“… I’m- uh- I’m Ma- Marinette… what’s a kwami? And what’s a miraculous? Did you come out of the earrings? How can you talk? And fly? And-“
“Hold on Marinette! I can answer all your questions if you let me.”
Marinette blushed, “sorry”
“That’s alright,” Tikki giggled, “A kwami is basically spirit that embodies a concept. A miraculous is what connects the kwami to the world so that you, and other humans, can interact with us! The earrings are my miraculous, so yes Marinette, I did come out of them. I’ve always been able to talk and fly.”
“Okay, but then… what were you- our earrings doing in my aunt’s attic?” Marinette hesitantly pulled the vase up and the thi- Tikki flew up, yawning.
“I don’t know. I’ve been asleep for a long time,” Tikki looked around the room, suddenly perking up when she saw the lights, “You’re a sorceress! Oh that’s wonderful,” she spun back, “Who’s your master? What’s your specialty? What-“
“Woah, woah, woah,” Marinette waved her hands, “I’m not a sorceress, why- what- how come you- I don’t understand, why would you think that?”
Tikki blinked, “The lights, you obviously used magic to get them, and the air is so cool, it must have a cooling charm on it. Or is a family member a sorcerer?”
Marinette stared for a moment, “that’s… no. The lights use electricity, and so does the air conditioning… Magic is real?”
Tikki looked shocked, “No… no magic. What do you- But- What do you mean it’s not real!? Of course magic is real! I know that they believed it evil when I was last active but for it to no longer exist…” The kwami looked broken for a moment before turning sad eyes to Marinette, “Marinette”
“uh, yes?”
“May I stay with you? Please, I want to see how the world has changed. You won’t have to use my miraculous for anything, just- just please let me stay.”
“Um, stay? What would that mean. And what does ‘use your miraculous’ mean?”
“My miraculous can give you power if you activate it. It’s meant to make heroes. And if I stay all that you would have to do is give me food, I prefer sweets, and wear the earrings.”
Marinette straightened, “But I won’t have to that right? I don’t think I’d be a very good hero.”
Tikki smiled, “You wouldn’t have to use my power at all. I’ll even tell you about the past wielders, tell you the history that’s usually kept hidden, and let their memory live on.”
“Okay, Okay, you can stay…” Marinette let out a breath, “Oh but now I can’t wear the other earrings.” She slumped; she’d been looking forward to wearing the different earrings.
Tikki squealed, “Oh thank you Marinette! You won’t regret it. But can’t you just wear two earrings at once? That’s what Khepri did.”
Marinette sighed, that would mean I have to get them pierced again, and that would take time to heal completely. But I’m glad you’re happy Tikki, I hope you like it here.”
Tikki zipped up, “I’m sure I will Marinette. You seem very nice… you know, I could pierce your ears, and with my magic they’ll heal immediately.”
Marinette gasped, “Really! That would be amazing!”
“Well pick a pair and I’ll do your ears.”
Marinette dug through the earrings for a moment as Tikki followed her and picked a pair of hanging wings in black metal and sparkling red stone
Tikki beamed and scooped them up, “Okay, give me a second and stay still so I can put them in.”
Marinette sat down and let Tikki flit around her, there was a quick pinch and a flash of pink and Tikki zipped in front of her again.
“There! They look so pretty Marinette, like a phoenix lent you their wings.”
Marinette looked at the mirror in awe, “I love them! Thank you Tikki.”
“Of course, Marinette. I can’t wait to see how the world has changed!”
