Considering the recent episode this seems like a great time to show off an au @circuscomics and I made way back in 2021!

When Chat Noir gave up his miraculous in Kuro Neko, instead of just letting Plagg go off and pick a new holder (or the same holder as in canon) Marinette is actually able to think about it and make an informed decision, and ends up deciding to give the ring to Ivan!

Since it was so long ago I don’t fully remember what we’d planned to be the catalyst for that, but after a bit of convincing, Ivan made a great partner for Ladybug. He was big and strong and was very good at protecting her and civilians, being a brick wall between them and akumas.

Chat Noir’s replacement was very controversial in the city, the public being very split since Chat Noir was one of the original heroes and very popular, but Mountain Lion was proving to be much better at the job.

Adrien was pissed of course, even though he was the one who threw the hissy fit and quit in the first place he didn’t think Ladybug would actually go through with replacing him! His friends at school all seemed to have different opinions on the matter, but with Adrien being upset with Ladybug he ended up getting a bit closer with Chloé.

Being a hero did put a little bit of strain on Ivan and Mylène’s relationship, it takes up more of his time and she’s more in the Chat Noir camp (thinking Mountain Lion is too big and scary) which is more then a little awkward.

I think that’s as far as we got back in the day but I always thought it was a really fun idea and wouldn’t mind doing something more with it!

jokes aside like ok im about to go on a rant about Cat Walker

we joke about chat blanc being the scariest one and all but i actually think Cat Walker is easily the most disturbing persona of Adrien. To me personally

like sure Chat Blanc represents a lot of his anger and rage and abandonment. and Claw Noir does that too only in color and lipstick. but Cat Walker being the literal representation of Adriens ability to just, repress himself on command. to just shut off a huge part of his identity (Chat Noir) for what he fully believed to be forever. and easily start acting like a completely different person (Cat Walker) is so. incredibly disturbing to me.

like yeah the episode frames it lightheartedly but the IMPLICATIONS ARE THERE.

cat walker stares at the fact Adrien is so willing to abandon himself, to replace himself in people's lives, to stand by ladybug as a completely different person because thats what he believes she wants from him, to easily live behind layers and layers of masks, and he simply goes "i choose to not perceive that" and i think thats fucking wild man.

so yes, he does entirely belong in the box, but he sure as hell aint gonna admit it, because his whole thing is being the representation of Adrien's repression and covering up his problems. He's not gonna admit he has a problem. So if you try to stage a coup, YOU'RE going in the box, bucko.

..again I feel like Marinettes just..abusing her right to hand out miraculous cuz shes just giving it out whenever theres a minor akuma and its just..making it too easy? Like ofc you can get 5 members a defeat a lesser villain. Jfc. And yet none of them figured out how to defeat hawkmoth..until she found out herself..so..again. Unnecessary--

Awe Kagami saying hi to Chat...anyways-- Marinette..annoys me. Like she just brushed him off and it just..never clocked that hed feel unwanted??? Really...Hes suggesting ways to help and shes jumping through hoops to not include him and getting snappy at him for TRYING TO FUCKING HELP HER??? (And if Adrien or Alya did that to HER, her fans would be up in arms saying they dont deserve her. 😒)

..and Im suppose to think Ladybugs good for him?? Im good. I-- yo. Plagg should dislike her bullshit from this alone. Seriously. THIS HAS BEEN CONSISTENT. And everyone gets mad at Adrien for being fed up??? If you kept putting time and energy into something that never seems to change wouldnt you wanna put a stop to that shit?? Its frustrating to always be in the dark and never knowing how to help. Fuck OFFF.

Am i being unfair to her?? Probably but shes lost the chance for me to care about her plight when this has happened maybe..twice now?? Or more. Whos to say CUZ IT NEVER CHANGES.

My thoughts on Kuro Neko:

- Plagg is the MVP

- Chat should have absolutely been upset about a lot more

- LB should have missed Chat too much and that’s why it didn’t workout, not because Catwalker was too attractive, it would’ve been a perfect chance for LB to realize how much she loves his sillier qualities

- Adrien’s “true self” not being Adrien or Chat, but both, was honestly super cool I actually love that, they’re both him, they’re both a part of him, and I love both of them
