I think it was very sexy of the new firelord to have an elite team of all female warriors as his royal guards

Sauron: *after LotR* as much as being a spirit sucks, at least I’m not trapped under a mountain
Ar-Pharazôn: as much as being trapped under a mountain sucks, as least I got betrayed by someone cool
Saruman’s ghost: as much as being murdered by Wormtongue sucks, at least I never had to have sex with my sister
Turin: As much has having to have sex with my sister sucks, at least I didn’t have to watch my kids have sex together
Hurin: I hate this game

NEW BOOK THE WITCHER! coming out 29th of november only in Poland. Worldwide dates not available yet but the name will be smth like 'the crossroad of the raven'
This time, the grandmaster of Polish fantasy goes back to Geralt's teenage years, when he is just taking his first steps in the witcher's profession and must face numerous challenges. Armed with two runic swords, he fights monsters, saves innocent maidens and helps unhappy lovers. He always and everywhere tries to follow the unwritten code that he took from his teachers and mentors. As is usually the case, life does not spare him disappointments - youthful idealism clashes with reality time and again. The story continues. The story never ends...
Found this on Goodreads!!
I had already hoped it would be aboit Geralts youth :)
#yay! we'll get to see the light of innocenece and hope and eagerness slowly die in Geralt's eyes#this will be painful#i can't wait#witcher books#andrzej sapkowski#geralt of rivia

2,300-Year-Old Plush Bird from the Altai Mountains of Siberia, c.400-300 BCE: this figure was crafted with a felt body and reindeer-fur stuffing, all of which remains intact
This plush bird was sealed within the frozen barrows of Pazyryk, Siberia, for more than two millennia, where a unique microclimate enabled it to be preserved. The permafrost ice lense formation that runs below the barrows provided an insulating layer, preventing the soil from heating during the summer and allowing it to quickly freeze during the winter; these conditions produced a separate microclimate within the stone walls of the barrows themselves, thereby aiding in the preservation of the artifacts inside.
This is just one of the many well-preserved artifacts that have been found at Pazyryk. These artifacts are attributed to the Scythian/Altaic cultures.
Currently housed at the Hermitage Museum.

This is what hieroglyphs and figures in ancient Egyptian temples looked like before their colors faded. They were recreated using a polychromatic light display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, following thorough research.

love that regis was resentful of cahir for being nilfgaardian at first. he didn’t even know anything about what he did to ciri or that geralt even hated him, he was just old enough and wise enough to disrespect the empire and military. “i can excuse drinking human blood but i draw the line at acts of imperialist aggression.”
i like this because a lot of interpretations of regis’ character (… blood and wine dlc 🥴) set him apart from society as an external judge of human folly and foolishness. like hmmmm… you mourtæls…. 🧐🍷 so dividèd by youer prejudicês…
and don’t get me wrong, regis is indeed the “let’s all kumbaya” type, but something as simple and subtle as his little snide remark about cahir’s surname and almost undetectable accent when he meets him betrays his absolute integration with northern society and strong ties to life in dillingen, and his inner prejudices resulting from that, which are absolutely. say it with me. human
