Now I'm imagining the absolute rollercoaster of emotions Tenko must've been through with the events of Ultra Despair Girls. Toko somehow slips away from her to follow Byakuya into a dangerous mission and then when she's able to contact her again she finds out Toko has a girlfriend.

Wait that’s actually so funny you’re so right. Tenko’s losing her mind trying to get the Future Foundation to mobilize to take back Towa City but the higher ups aren’t having any of it because blah blah hostages whatever!! That’s her girl over there!!! And then Toko saves the day (like Tenko knew she would!) but with this weird stranger that Tenko’s never heard of and she’s having feelings about it lol

What do you think the V3 characters would look like if they were Future Foundation members

I actually drew the v3 survivors as future foundation members back in 2022! Can’t remember if it was for an ask or just because lol

But uhhhh old arttttttt SO I’ve now drawn Tenko as a Future Foundation member!

I think she’d have such a funny dynamic with Toko where Toko keeps trying to go after Byakuya and Tenko keeps trying to protect her from him

Hello there!

Although I've sometimes come across some of your art while looking from some of the generic Danganronpa tags on Tumblr, today was the first time that I decided to view your account directly. Your Danganronpa V3 Remnants of Despair AU is very cool, and I have enjoyed the posts that I have read thus far! Being a project that you have been working on for over three years, there's every chance that what I'm about to say has already been said before. If that is the case, then I apologise; I just haven't been able to read every single post just yet!

Although canonically, Kaede states that there is no way she can make people enjoy or pay attention to her music when they simply don't want to, I've always had the headcanon that to a certain extent - whether she knows so or not - she can indeed sway people's emotions, feelings or thoughts through her music. For example, by playing a soft, soothing, lullaby-like waltz, she could cause her audience to become incredibly relaxed, even causing them to enter a trance like state or make them fall asleep. On the other hand, if she played an uplifting, playful, and ragtime, her audience would become happy, jovial, and perhaps even a little giddy.

Adding to this idea, I would theorise that if Kaede ever became a Remnant of Despair, or if she ever became the Mastermind of a Killing Game, this ability of hers would be exploited for less than pleasant reasons.

It could be used on a very small scale. For example, having discovered a husband and wife who were happily in love, Kaede could take the wife and trap them in a room with a complete stranger, to which she would then play an incredibly romantic piece. Later, while the husband would be ecstatic to see that his wife had returned unharmed, the wife would care nought for him, having instead falling head over heels for the stranger, thus, breaking up an otherwise beauitful and healthy relationship.

On a larger scale, however, imagine trapping a large group inside of an auditorium, opera house, theatre, or something similar, with each of them tied down to their seats. Kaede could then perform the most harrowing, heartbreaking, depressive lament on her piano. To begin with, the audience would be distraught, frantically trying to escape. However, if Kaede played for long enough, they would each end up in a catatonic state, their spirits completely crushed by despair.

What do you think of these concepts?

I imagined some scenarios within your universe surrounding this idea.

There has been an uprising within Kirumi's nation that she wishes to quell in a meaningful, impactful way that would warn others from trying the same? Have them sit in on one of Kaede's performances for an hour and break their minds, later presenting them to a crowd with the very clear message of, "I don't even need to physically hurt you to break you," before killing them off.

No matter how long she tortures her victim for, Maki is unable to extract the location of her next target from an informant? Give them to Kaede and have her break their spirit instead. They'll be begging to speak to Maki before long, just to make the song stop.

Angie believes that the followers of the Cult of Junko are only pretending to sing their goddess' praises? Have Kaede play something inspiring and invigorating, sending them into a frenzied delirium of joy and laughter as they worship their Queen of Despair.

Rantaro is bored with his constant state of mild melancholy? Sit down and let Kaede play for him. Even if he doesn't feel the music's effects as strongly or for as long as the average person, it is still a small and welcome change from the norm.

One of the Remnants is suffering from doubts and losing their conviction in their cause? They can lament their worries and woes to Kaede and let her adjust their thoughts however she deems fit. Soon enough, she'll have her friends back in action where she can cheer them on as usual!

I'll leave things here before this post becomes any longer than it already is, haha. I hope that you like my idea, as well as the little fan-concepts I came up with.

Hello! I’m very glad you’ve enjoyed the au and my art!

That is a super neat idea for sure, and I feel like Kaede's music influencing peoples emotions would be right at home with how powerful and weird Danganronpa shows their Ultimates to be.

I especially liked your idea for Rantaro, I have it so that when they were all at Hopes Peak Rantaro was in the reserve course but was still good friends with Kaede. So it’s a fun idea for him to keep seeking her out as Kamakura!

Hey Kirumi Tojo as much as you are great leader of your proud nation I'm certain that several people might see you as problematic to world peace ( world leaders, unruly people etc. ) which may result in them trying to eliminate you. Is there playing any chance you happen to have a photo of you surviving one such assassination? If so may I see it!

What if, in Neo World, those Remnants V3 reactions after discovering the horrifying truth about being Remnants of Despair and what they've done?

I actually have something like that planned for the Neo World program! I want to have the motives the same as in sdr2 so that means we get the Fun House and the Final Dead Room! So whoever goes through it to try and stop everyone from starving to death in the Fun House gets a nifty video explaining (most) of what’s really going on!

I wonder who it’ll be…

So in the thh remnant au, would Makoto be in the neo world program? And if so, would he remember what happened before it?

He’d definitely have to go through the program with the others! The way Circus and I planned it Makoto’s despair is from not being able to help any of his friends. Like they’re all crazy and evil and he can’t stop them from doing any of it, so he’s just going about the motions of visiting everyone and trying to make sure they’re okay. Making token efforts to tell them to stop even though it never helps.

On a subconscious level he knows it’s hopeless, but he keeps doing it almost on auto pilot. Kyoko, with Chihiro’s help, always have eyes on him, and she lets him think he can do what he wants, but really she keeps him on a pretty short leash. She lets him keep up with his visits to the others, but that’s half so that they’ll keep an eye on him.

Early on when the rest of the class started picking up on Makoto’s behaviour not really reading like despair, they had Hagakure look into it, and he confidently told them that even if it took a bit longer eventually Makoto would join despair just like them.

So Kyoko is content to play the long game with Makoto. He’ll be with them eventually so what does it matter if he takes his time. He’s not a threat to them anyway.

But yeah, he’s still need the Neo world program to help flush the pseudo despair from his system. I don’t think he’d keep his memories from before while in the program, it would be a little counter productive if he did lol
