Just after most of the troubles on the Isles were over, things were starting to get back to what could be considered 'normal', and family life was adjusting to the new circumstances, my sister, Amity, definitely needed her hair to be attended to.

She hadn't had it dyed purple for months, and it had faded, and her roots had grown out, showing her natural brown color...

It had also grown out somewhat. Actually a good look for her I think...

So, Big Sister to the rescue! 😀

I wonder, are most Humans as impatient as Luz?

I mean, they only had to wait an hour, and the dye would have been washed out...🤷‍♀️

Non-shifty: I bought a bag of yarn for $5 at value village and discovered the contents were sone $40 worth of lovely sock yarn. I'm gonna knit some cool mittens and then donate them back to the same value village.

Traditional Norwegian mittens

These are some traditional Norwegian mittens. The photos include geopraphical area aswell as as time period.

Made a pair of mittens out of undyed handspun yarn scrap. Body is mostly Jacob's fleece 2 ply that I'm pretty sure was the result of some self striping yarn experiments. The thumbs and tip/cuff of the left mitten is some very old merino (one of the first yarns I ever spun) held together with 2 strands of handspun shetland laceweight to meet the same gauge.

The crochet cuff is because I seem to have missed a couple rounds of ribbing, so the left mitten was slightly higher on my hand. They sit evenly with the addition of the crochet. They look slightly different sizes/shapes but that's just how they dried and they fit exactly the same. Finished them at 2 in the morning, wove in the ends, and blocked them over a vent. They're fairly robust and thick due to the gauge so I'm hoping they will be warmer than my old fingerless gloves.

Improvised, no pattern.

i succeeded in making my first ever pair of mittens. they are slightly uneven, but my partner loves them :)
