I love when Smosh is on Dropout - and the other way around when Dropout is on Smosh too. I think it's neat that they're literally just all comedians/actors making shit in LA and sometimes they all overlap and work with each other.

Like - Ify remains a regular on both Dropout AND Smosh (and if you haven't seen Black Shayne/White Ify you're missing out) and Dropout and Smosh have done some good stuff with the Try Guys recently too, especially as they work on releasing stuff for their own streaming service that Sam helped them build. They're also all overlapping with Starkid, Drunk Lady Productions, and Mythical/Rhett and Link too.

They're all independent creatives making stuff in LA and imho it's so cool that they have the platforms and ability to do that outside of typical Hollywood fashion - especially in ways that support and platform each other in collaborative ways.

Fake Dream Au

Characters (that I drew so far):

Vincent Vox is a young talented actor who comes from a long line of aspiring actors and filmmakers. He’s the middle child of his family. He had one, actual, friend (Alastor) before having a “falling” out with him. He’s around thirteen years old. Vox has heterochromia (left is red and right is blue). He’s not blind in one eye, he has blurry vision in both eyes (he wears eye contact). He doesn’t like talking about the scar—can’t remember. Why can’t? Remember. Snarks and anything technology are his special interests and loves to talk about them for hours (usually mostly mainly with Papermint). He like getting fan mails—but there are some weird ones… Like telling him to run and stuff.

���Papermint” Marcus is Vox’s assistant (like in the show) but he’s older than Vox. He acts like Vox’s babysitter—more like a very nervous cousin/older brother to Vox. He does know how the scar happened. He’s best friends, they just took him in, with Kitty and Melissa. Fifteen years old. Vox was his first friend. Papermint is connected and nervous about everything, especially with Vox. He does know about Vox’s deep depression and his wanting to be noticed/loved by his family. Papermint was in a foster home when growing up (it wasn’t a good time for him). Papermint was the nickname that the foster home children gave him due to his birthmarks and being mixed race, but Vox calls him “Papermint” in a different way (because Vox usually sees Marcus with a lot of different colours of paper and he knows that Marcus likes mint).

Kitty, Fizzarolli’s younger sister, is an assistant like Papermint and Melissa. She has more of a free allowance than anyone else due to Fizzarolli’s boyfriend, Asmodeus, and her older brother being very popular and important to the studio and social media. She had brought in Asmodeus because she realized she and other people were being paid under amounts that were legally allowed. She likes to collect tall, very nervous people like Pokémon Cards. She’s also a backup actor. She’s usually in a clown (different height) hat because she wants to be like her older brother. She has a big family. Kitty is sixteen years old and likes to hold Vox like a wet cat for Melissa.

Melissa is the oldest of the teenage assistants. Her family was the “perfect” family before Melissa was taken away and given to her grandparents. She’s very nervous about everything and it being perfect. Her grandparents are very caring and loving people. She’s slowly getting used to not being “perfect”. She loves Kitty’s hugs. She’s seventeen years old. Lord, give her a hug and 100x more love—give them all loves and hugs. Melissa is also the new top model for Velvette.

The Studio:

Is set a modern time and mainly focuses on the studio and Vox. The studio is a Christian studio and very popular. Vox, Anthony (Angel Dust), Vaggie, Charlie, Arackniss, Charlotte Boom (Cherri Bomb), Husker, Molly, (Sir) Pentious, and Emily are very popular teenagers/kids in their shows and movies and are the main casts in them. Alastor is not in the any of the shows nor the studio. Rosie and Mimzy do talk about Alastor watching the shows only that had Vox in them. Niffty is the janitor of the studio and does report back to Alastor if asked by him. It probably best to keep Alastor and Vox away from each other. Valentino is one of the writers and artists of the studio due to his surprisingly good artistic skills. Velvette is the top designer in the studio (why is Sera allowing teenagers to have adults jobs?). Adam, Eve, Lute, Lilith, (St) Peter, Lucifer, Carmilla, Zestial, (Archangel) Micheal and the other seven archangels, and Zeezi are popular adults in the shows and movies they’re in. The Egg Boiz are the children that Pentious babysits (maybe Sera is not paying all of the child actors properly or it just for high school).

But it’s all fake. It’s just a dream. A nice dream. Vox was stuck in a tiny room with a tiny window. The room is full of snarks related stuff. Don’t look out of the window again, Vox. Go back asleep, Vox. At least, everyone is nicer there.

1, this is the first time Papermint and Vox met (the adults just threw the both of them in a room). “Uh…” (doesn’t know what a 10-12 year old actor kid would like to talk about) “D-do you… uhm… li—like ocean creatures…?”

2, “I loves sharks.”

3, hours later or like 30 minutes, both are talking snarks facts.

It’s just Vincent.

There’s no Vox.

There’s no talented young actor anywhere.

Just a small room full of shark stuffs and a closed off window.

“Everything is fake.”

“Don’t look out of the window.”

“You know what’s out there.”

“You’re trap.”

“Sleep.”

“At least, everything would look better.”

I have good news and bad news:

The bad news is, that stepback was not from It Happened One Autumn (but it is a Kleypas stepback, for sure, and it is tooootally in line with the Wallflowers stepbacks). The good news is, I own not one but two unedited/stepback copies of Autumn, because nobody is going to catch me slipping once people start realizing en masse that there's a difference between the edited and unedited copies and start buying up the latter lol.

So here's the Westcliff/Lillian stepback!

It's really quite beautiful. The detail on her dress is exquisite, and the foot pop--please.

And I also do have some quotes, though I will say that some of my favorite Westcliff quotes are when he's being a bit... of a mess lol

When he highkey negs Lillian in the butterfly garden about how she actually can't kiss, which is a shame, and maybe she needs lessons and I wonder whoooo could teach her???

Then one of my favorite parts of the book, where he's a total asshole and stops fingering Lillian (still in the butterfly garden) to be like "well DAMN Lillian, if I can get that far with you, imagine what would happen with someone who has ACTUAL GAME like St. Vincent???" Ridiculous self-own

When he almost comes in his pants while Lillian starts babbling drunken entendres about how something soooo biiiiiiig could fit into something soooooooo smaaaaaaaallllllllll

his voice cracking kills me, truly the man was suuuuufferiiiiing

When he had one of the best classic "I COULD HAVE PLANTED A BABY IN YOUR FERTILE WOMB TWENTY MINUTES AGO" moments

Like it's some of the stupidest shit I've ever read and it's SO. FUNNY. YOU COULD BE BREEDING LILLIAN. I SMELLED YOU OVULATING. SHUT UP. MARRY ME.

In my head he has his hands on his hips

And then I have the actual legit romantic speech he does, which is one of the only big romantic things he says in the book, which is why it goes on for a huge paragraph that bleeds onto the next page

Any favorite secondary characters in romance that don't have a book yet but you would like to?

YES. FIRSTLY, The Perfect Scandal by Delilah Marvelle had basically the Russian equivalent of St. Vincent (blond, meets heroine under false pretenses, attempts to kidnap her to marry her and holds the hero at gunpoint, has rapey one-liners like "why do you think Russia keeps invading Poland?", and kinda started his reformation arc by the end of the book) BUT HE DOES NOT HAVE HIS OWN BOOK.

THIS MAN from The Counterfeit Scoundrel by Lorraine Heath:

Kathleen Ayers has this mildly shady businessman named Estwood who hit on the heroine of The Design of Dukes at some point and that man deserves a book just for that.

Lisa Kleypas's books where she has a Wallflower offspring as the hero or heroine are by and large some of her dullest books, but I'd be curious to read about St. Vincent's younger son (Raphael?) or Westcliff's eldest son, Lord Foxhall aka Fox which is totally a hero nickname.

Speaking of offspring, @jeanvanjer and I have been talking about this for like a year, but Max Garrity whose parents were the main couple of Regarding the Duke by Grace Callaway, and whose sister was the Fiona of Fiona and the Enigmatic Earl totally deserves a book. So does Alaric and Emma's kid Christopher (parents from The Duke Who Knew Too Much, and whose sister was in Olivia and the Masked Duke). Grace is getting into the weeds with next-gen stuff with her new series centered around the Blackwood family (Pandora and Marcus Blackwood were the couple from The Lady Who Came in from the Cold), so I have hope.

Curse of the Divine- Chapter Two: The Devil Appears

{Paige's POV}— I slowly opened my eyes and groaned as I sat up.

I looked around and groaned as I held my head. I suddenly became aware that I was on my bed and I certainly didn't remember getting in it.

Hades whimpered at me and I saw him and the others. They looked equally nervous as I was.

Then my heart skipped a beat when I heard a clatter in my kitchen. I grabbed my gun off the nightstand and slowly climbed out of my bed and started walking out of my room.

Silently taking a deep breath, I steadied myself before I jumped out and aimed my gun at... the same man who had been standing outside of my apartment.

He looked at me and smiled, "hello, my dear."

I narrowed my eyes, "who the hell are you? And why are you in my apartment?"

He set down a cup of whiskey on the counter, not at all bothered by the tone of my voice.

"I told you before," he said, leaning against the counter. I stared at him, bewildered and irritated.

"Yeah, I doubt that you're actually the Devil," I huffed, "you must be crazy. Or high at least."

He huffed, sounding more amused than annoyed, "I can assure you, I'm neither of those. My name is Lucifer. And I'm the Devil."

I stared at him like he grew a second head.

He didn't seem to be lying.

He chuckled again and walked around the counter. I stepped back, never lowering my gun.

"If you want proof so badly, my dear," he said as he stood in the center of the room. He opened his arms like he was about to silently ask for a hug.

Before I could say anything, I jumped when a pair of pure black wings unfolded from his back.

I stared at them, my lips moving but no words came out. There... there was no way. This couldn't have been real.

"No... those... those can't be real," I said with a nervous laugh. Lucifer chuckled softly, "you are looking at a Fallen Angel, my dear Paige." His wings disappeared into his back.

My heart stuttered and I stepped back, my hands shaking. I never told him my name.

I stepped back until my back met the counter and I set my gun down.

"You... you are the Devil," I said, remembering what he had told me when he broke into my apartment. I blinked a few times before I glared up at him.

"You broke into my apartment!" I exclaimed angrily. He laughed softly, "well how else was I supposed to see you?"

"Me?" I demanded, "why the Hell would you wanna see me?! I'm a nobody!"

"On the contrary, my dear, you're the only one who can... help me with something," he said.

I frown, crossing my arms. "What could you possibly need my help with? You're the Devil. Why would I help you?"

He gave me a blank look.

"You don't believe in my Father," he stated as if that was the most accurate thing in the world. I frowned, crossing my arms.

"Almost anyone wouldn't believe in your Father," I huffed. Lucifer almost rolled his eyes, "but He's been watching you in particular."

I step back as I was caught off guard by that. God had been watching... me?

"What are you talking about?" I asked. Lucifer watched me, his eyes skimming over me.

"You're the daughter of Latosha McHenry and Marcus Kendrick, aren't you?" He asked. I held back a flinch as I stared at him for a moment. I nodded slightly.

"Well... God has been watching you for... particular reasons," he said, walking over to me but I didn't flinch or move out of his way.

"But there's also been another problem," he said, "Demons are running amok in the middle Plane. And Angels are hunting them."

I frowned. I didn't want to believe that. I look away. Lucifer tilted his head a bit as he watched me.

I looked up at him. "Do you honestly expect me to believe-" My phone buzzed and I pulled it out of my pocket.

George was calling me. I frowned and I answered it, "what is it, George?"

"Have you seen the news?" He asked so urgently that it surprised me. I turned on the news and my eyes widened.

"In the middle of the stormy morning, a murder has occurred right outside of Los Angeles' St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic church. One of the young pastors, Ben Greenberg, was stabbed twelve times by a masked figure. Police are searching relentlessly."

I stared at the tv in shock.

"Paige?" George said and I blinked before I looked at the phone. I pressed it against my ear, "I'll be right there."

With that, I hung up and stared at the news. I tensed up when Lucifer placed his hands on my shoulders and leaned down to me, his lips brushing against my earlobe.

I moved my head away, hissing a little.

"Believe me now?" He asked. I glared at him before I pushed him away.

"That doesn't answer my questions," I huffed. "Whatever questions you have, I will happily answer," he chirped nonchalantly.

Frowning, I put my gun in it's holster and grabbed my jacket as I walked to the door. I paused and glared at Lucifer, "you are not going to follow me to a crime scene. Stay here."

He raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. I walked out of my apartment, closing the door behind me and locking it.

Hopefully he would actually listen to me. I almost laughed at the thought. The Devil listening to a mere human.

I climbed into my car and started it. Once I backed out of the parking lot, I started driving away from the apartment complex.

{Lucifer's POV}— I watched as she drove away. I chuckled, a smirk appearing on my lips.

It was adorable how she thought I would listen to her.

I was the Devil. Prince of Hell and stronger than the other Demons. I glanced at the picture on the wall.

It was of her and her parents.

I hummed deeply as I stared at it with morbid curiosity. I chuckled softly but my smile fell when there was a fwoosh.

I growled softly, "hello to you too... Michael."

Michael narrowed his eyes at me, "what are you planning here?"

I turned to him, my eyes narrowing. Typical Angels; always wanting to ask questions first then fight later. Usually, it was the other way around.

"I don't know what you mean," I said calmly. Michael crossed his arms, "don't play dumb with me, Lucifer. You are playing with fire here. You weren't supposed to meet her."

I couldn't help but chuckle darkly. "Don't you remember, brother?"

I stepped closer and placed my hand on Michael's shoulder. "Our Father always has plans."

I walked past him and over to the door. "Now... if you'll excuse me... I have a little policewoman to watch over."

With that said, I walked out of the apartment, closing the door behind me.

I stood outside the door, glaring at the ground. My fists clenched tightly.

I didn't care about God's plans. As far as I was concerned, He could take those plans and shove them where the sun didn't shine.

I huffed but smirked.

I had my own plans to make.

And it involved a certain policewoman.

{Paige's POV}— I drove into an empty spot next to George's car and I saw a crowd of people. There was even a news reporter and a cameraman. George and two other Policewomen were keeping them at bay.

I stepped out of the car and walked over to Gregory Parker and Charlotte Valentine.

"How special was this guy anyway?" Charlotte huffed.

Gregory gave her a look, "he was a pastor. Remember when George brought him in last week?"

"Yeah," I said as I squatted down next to the blanket that was covering Ben's body.

"He was on drugs," Gregory explained, "but chose to change his life. Lost his wife and unborn child in a car crash a few months back."

I frowned and lifted the blanket. Ben's empty and lifeless eyes met mine and I almost flinched back, quickly lowering the blanket.

Charlotte gave me a concerned glance. I took a deep breath as I stood up. I looked at her and Gregory, "any clues?"

"Shiloh and Thomas found a stack of papers that had drawings of Satanic stuff," Charlotte said. I nodded and walked over to Shiloh Cross and Thomas Runner. They were in the forensics department.

"Hey, boys," I greeted. "Hey Paigey," Shiloh said as he inspected the bloodied footprints on the ground.

"What do we got?" I asked. "Murder victim was apparently stabbed once in the abdomen," Thomas explained and he pointed to a couple of blood splatters, "then the murderer flung the weapon around and stabbed his victim in the leg."

I blinked in surprise. It was no surprise I didn't see that but when you learn to meet the Forensics Scientists in the LAPD, you gotta know when they beat you to it.

"Who's that?" Thomas asked and I looked over my shoulder and I felt my right eye twitch.

Lucifer was standing by George's car.

I look at the boys, forcing a nervous smile, "excuse me."

I slowly moved away before I ran over to Lucifer.

I grabbed his arm, surprising him. "What the fuck did I tell you?" I hissed.

He chuckled, "do you honestly think that I would listen to you, my dear?"

I growled softly, my grip tightening slightly. Lucifer's smirk widened. I let go of his arm.

"If you're going to be a distraction, do it at home," I huffed. Lucifer chuckled slightly before he looked over at the body.

I followed his gaze before I looked back at him with a frown, "what is it?"

"Believe it or not," he said with a tilt of his head, "I may know what killed that poor pastor."
