Light Hope - First Ones' Artificial Intelligence, Mentor of Adora, Old Friend of Mara's. Age is unknown, 7'0, was created by the First Ones to aid in She-Ra's journey of heroism. however, due to an incident, she has lost a few memory files relating to the past.

having suffered the loss of Mara, the incident she doesn't recall, and being forced to dormancy, Light Hope became repressed in her emotions and thought process, only focusing on She-Ra and her destiny. but there are moments where her original programming takes over and she is warmer with Adora. it is very sporadic and can come off as off-putting.

despite her orders, she is much like the heroine herself, craving connection more than anything else, but her coding doesn't fully understand this. as a result, Light Hope is unintentionally self-destructive or sabotaging, overriding her desires with the objective of her creation.

the sorest point of hers is it frustrates her most that she can't even remember the name of who created her.

design would be inspired by Spark by sleeepybacon, Vahagn by ollyc_herb, and Heidi by boots.ocs. instead of a hologram, i decided to make her a robot ( partially for personal design reasons ), and she'd have at least minor rusting on the metal plating.

Mara - First She-Ra, Protector of Eternia, The Last Star. Late 20s to Early 30s, 5'9, was a Princess turned General at a young age and had been involved with the First Ones her entire life. history of her is limited and scattered over Etheria, but it's evident that her end was devastating.

before her time as She-Ra, Mara was a kind, genuine soul with a passion for nature and magic. the First Ones always had trouble with her from childhood to early teenhood, where she had a tendency to wander around and run away from home at any hour to explore.

but, due to her training, amongst other things, she did not have any peers. at least, not ones that wanted to spend time with her. so, when Light Hope was created, this adventurous side of her was only emphasized and she desperately wanted to show her new friend the world around them and continue learning.

after becoming She-Ra, she slowly changed. hardly having time for her interests, constantly training and needing to improve, answering distress signals, Mara became worn and a shell of her former self. long gone were the days of adventure, of her talking to Light Hope endlessly, of showing all the exciting things she found. she didn't have the spark in her eyes anymore.

until she made a choice.

and that choice involved a baby.

Madame Razz ( Regina ) - The Witch of the Whispering Woods, Friend of Bow, Unofficial Guardian of Mara and Adora. 60s-70s ( by appearance ), 6'2, is a mysterious, but very spritely witch that resides in the Whispering Woods, which is why the Rebellion has it as their security. because of her nature and age, Razz is often underestimated.

her memories are affected by her age, which makes her use a journal to write spells and important information she'll otherwise forget. usually, though, Broom writes it down for her.

Razz tends to confuse Adora for Mara, due to their shared features and having a similar name ( 'ra' ), but she wouldn't treat the young woman any differently regardless. she loves them both very much.

but where has her Mara gone?

design would be inspired by Grandma Aldreda by canarywitch, Gnomus by pen.lilixeesketche, and The Outcast Comic by xeonsoda. i looked up Twiggets and, while there's not a lot of information about them, the i do wanna learn more into the nature and obscuring the face aspect of the original.

Mermista ( Elaysia ) - Princess of Salineas, Daughter of King Mercia, The Pearl of the Seas, Best Friend of Seahawk's. 21 yrs old, 5'5, lost her mother in the war at a young age and has a strained relationship with her father, due to his grief leading him to making less than optimal decisions.

taking after her mother, Mermista is ambitious, bold, composed, and a bit of a bookworm. disregarding her father's beliefs of leaving the Horde be, she often isn't home and is instead rescuing prisoners // slaves from Hordak's rule alongside Seahawk, an ex-pirate and old friend of hers.

in her downtime, she's much more laidback and sassy, finding fun in banter, wisecracks, and conversation about literature or history. but she's definitely not against having a few adventures of her own.

design would be inspired by Storyteller by sleeepybacon, Indy by nahusnab, and Silence of Dawn Illustration by elentori. due to her real name and its origin, there might be Greek inspiration in her design and the environments of Salineas mixed in. absolutely want to make her merfolk side more present.

Seahawk ( Jeoff ) - The Captain of Solar Sailor, Ex-Pirate of the Seas, Best Friend of Mermista's. 20 yrs old, 6'1, raised by his father, Falcon, until he suddenly disappeared without a trace. for nearly a decade after that, he became a pirate that eventually aided the Horde for some time, until Mermista came along. though the history is unclear, it is obvious the two have a bond that can't be broken.

he's always held regret for his actions and continues to atone for them to this day, showing he is a hardworking and compassionate person underneath. before the Rebellion grew, he and Mermista worked together and apart to mess with the Horde's plans.

during the Rebellion's growth, the two joined after Adora, Glimmer, and Bow aided them in their personal mission. Seahawk grows to have a particular fondness for Bow.

in his downtime, he's usually either sculpting, writing, or darting.

design would be inspired by Marcus and Iulius by distyx and aliceperazzolo, Monroe by reddsmess, and Benny by linxy_animations_official. yeah, he's basically the 1980s' version with some rewritten details, what of it? oh, and he's bulky. good for hugs.

Frosta ( Min // Mackenzie ) - Queen of the Kingdom of Snows, Ice Empress of Etheria, The Ice Witch. 18 yrs old, 5'2, became an orphan at the age of 13 and has been Queen ever since, assisted by their royal advisor and guards.

to the people, they are compassionate, understanding, and talkative. but to complete strangers, Frosta is frigid and has a tendency to come off as condescending or hostile, but it sprouts from the protectiveness over their Kingdom and not wanting further pain after the loss of their fathers.

in spite of this, though, they are the warmest with Mermista and Seahawk out of everyone else involved with the Royals. Seahawk even makes them laugh.

design would be inspired by Ria by pearljeli, Ning Suzhen by artzy_paw, Takashi Naoki by meijinn, and Arya by lapstle. i've had thoughts on them being a Magicat as well, for a couple of reasons. unfortunately, i'll have to reinvent the species from the ground up, since Nate didn't do anything with them.

Perfuma ( Tara ) - The Wandering Flower, The Flower Maiden, Nature's Caretaker. 22 yrs old, 6'3, a lone nomad who travels across Etheria, making her very difficult to find if you're not paying attention. she was kidnapped by the Horde, due to her indifference and pacifism towards them. because she didn't make fuss, no one knew she was captured to begin with.

she's very bubbly and energetic, often seeing the best of a situation, even if it's unlikely to happen. having a strong belief in friendship, love, and self-care, Perfuma is always willing to help when she can, physically or emotionally, and thrives on bonding with others, even with her enemies.

because of her outgoing nature and complete indifference to anyone attacking her, there have been multiple stories about her around Etheria, with many people thinking she's either an unstoppable force or a magnet for trouble.

design would be inspired by Bonnie by ayegyolk, Unnamed OC by kleahvii, Sorrel by idolomantises, and Lottie by sleeepybacon. her species would be of an orchid moth ( or moth orchid? ), which i think are very cute and fit her well.

I actually cant get over how tragic maras story is. Every move she makes is ultimately undone, and she knew it would be.

She went to etheria believing she was doing something good, wanting to protect her people, and falling in love with the magic there. shes mostly alone, but she forms close bonds with everyone and everything that let's her - light hope, razz, etheria itself. and that is mostly returned, despite the odds - light hope calls her a friend, razz cares for her immensely.

And as she begins her hero's journey, razz is littering their every interaction with stories of someone else - adora. Mara knows adora is she ra too, a she ra of the future.

When she finds out The Truth, and everything starts to crumble around her, light hope is reprogrammed to devalue her, she makes the decision to fight against it, with great personal sacrifice.

She wanted to protect her people - she had to turn against them in order to protect the universe.

She loved light hope - and she had to watch her turn against her, and then disable her.

She loved magic, and she loved she ra- she had to give it up, and destroy that mantle for good.

But in everything she did, she knew, at some point, adora would be there. Still fighting the same battle.

How hard must it have been to know that some day everything she fought for would be gone? That, ultimately, she would fail? She doesn't know how long it will take, in her recording she speculates its only been a few weeks. She doesn't know how long it will hold, what difference she can make. All she knows is that one day, adora will be there. Adora, who will have to take up the mantle. Adora, who will have to carry a legacy she never wanted to pass down. All she can do is hope that the ground she lays is enough, so that adora might be able to finish what she started. And at the end, she had no way of knowing that her work succeeded.

She was doomed from the start, and she lost almost everything along the way, and she had no choice but to go into battle and pray it would be enough, and she never even got to see that it was

between this episode and the last i'm like. buck deserved better. eddie deserved better. hen deserved better. karen deserved better. marisol and tommy deserved better. what is going on. why are they sacrificing character depth and thoughtfulness for comedy that isn't even good

doing my research data entry, listening to Stars's album No One Is Lost which was (and especially the titular, final song, was) my big Widowtracer music back when I was into Overwatch. And that is reminding me of how much what I liked about the Overwatch characters and lore was stuff that I made up - not even, necessarily, stuff the fandom made up (which was most of it - Overwatch lore was not good) but my own idiosynctratic preferences for ship dynamics.

At least I was into Reaper76 in the same way a lot of other people were, and Reaper/76/Ana the way a few of my other friends were. McHanzo and McGenji were hit-or-miss, McCree (back when he was McCree) & Pharah's sibling relationship prevalent but rarely a focus. But I never really found a lot that satisfied me about Widowmaker/Tracer, because I had such a specific view of what I wanted from them. One I made up because there really was not much there at all.

What I liked about the idea of them was Tracer moving fast staying bright in an attempt to outrun fear and fatalism and collapse by being aggressively optimistic; contrasted against Widowmaker who had accepted it all dully. Tracer desperate to prove that there was something left of Amelie in there, that she could be brought back. That she could be saved. That no one is lost. Proof that things could be okay in the wake of a shakeup in her world order that cast her adrift. That her world could make sense again.

Thinking about it, I'm continuously compelled by characters who are projecting their issues all over each other; especially in the manner of, I feel lost, hopeless, hurt, terrible, irredeemable. I don't believe I have a future, or can ever change, or have a place anymore, or atone for what I did, or can come back from this, or can be loved, or can be saved. But you're in a way worse mess than me, so I'm making it my project to save you, because if I can prove you can... that you can be better, that you can have a future, that you can belong, that you can atone, that you can be loved, that you can be saved... then maybe I can, too. I have to believe that, and that's why I believe in you when you've been written off and have written yourself off. And I'm going to keep reaching out.

And then I discovered Metal Gear Solid and it had a lot of the character dynamics I liked in my made-up headcanon Overwatch actually present in the text. I didn't have to make it up, it was actually there and intentionally and competently written. I was still kind of reading this dynamic into Snake and Meryl (still convinced they were projecting their issues about being loved and being abandoned all over each other in MGS1 and mistaking that for attraction) but a lot of what I liked about Reaper76 and McGenji and McHanzo and stuff was just... there.

And then I got into Wolf 359 where this redemption-by-proxy projection is just straight up textually what's happening between Eiffel and Hilbert. So: getting into fandoms for better written things with what I actually wanted in them is part of the solution here.

But also it was my Widowtracer experience that made me go, I am basically just making up my own character goals and interactions here. Why am I bothering to make it fanwork when it's basically an original story.

I never did put that anywhere. But women desperate to save each other, women desperate to prove they can be saved by saving each other, and women who have the nagging fear that they were wrong doing the evil version of this and trying to seek vindication and absolution through each other do crop up again and again in my imagination. Maybe I should pin that down sometime and give my headcanon Widowtracer the story they deserve.

Aquila never would have guessed they'd ever be anything more than tolerant of each other, but he finds that CB has a way of pleasantly surprising him at every turn.

I know I'm a S7 hater but some parts of it were so fun actually. The Buddie scenes were perfect I loved watching Devin and RG's chemistry 7x04 and 7x05 were really fun the emotional scenes in most episodes were so well done it was great to have Amir around (even tho his sl was awful in several ways) but like. Despite having so many good moments. It was also so incredibly awful lmao.

there are a lot of headcanons about tommy becoming resentful of the time buck spends with eddie, but give me the reverse. give me eddie resentful of the time buck spends with tommy.

eddie's alone and sad with chris gone. both buck and tommy, together and individually, try to do things with him and be there for him but sometimes they actually do want to be alone together, and eddie just...can't seem to stop getting in the way. he invites himself along to stuff. he asks if he can come hang out when they're having a night at home together. he takes up their free evenings with obsessively making plans so he can avoid being alone in his house and they're just starting to get worn down.

eventually buck has to sit him down and say, eddie, my man, my dude, you're family to me, i care about you so much, so does tommy, but for the love of all that's holy please understand that sometimes i need to be alone with my boyfriend.

and eddie is embarrassed that he's been so clingy but also low-key hates that they have this relationship with each other that doesn't include him. he's happy that buck's found the love he always yearned for and deserved, but he can't stop feeling hurt and left out and there's just no way to make it better.

so what does he do? does he stay resentful and let it fester until it becomes anger and it ruins his friendship with buck?

maybe at one point he would have done that. but this time...this time he recognizes the path he's on and decides to take action to not let that happen. buck is too important to him. he has to find a way to occupy himself without relying soley on buck.

so he joins a boxing gym that nobody else goes to and starts working out there. he makes a friend who's also dealing with loneliness.

he starts volunteering on off-shift mornings at a botanical garden and finds that digging in the dirt and getting sweaty and dirty is very therapeutic. after a few weeks, some of the other volunteers invite him to come to brunch after their shift.

he discovers the LAFD Discord and that it has a whole bunch of sub-groups where first responders from all over the city get together for activities. he joins the golf group. he joins the cooking group. he goes on an axe-throwing outing.

he makes other friends.

there are no other friends like Buck. there will never be another friend like Buck. but there are people he can spend time with now, and give Buck a break so he can spend time with Tommy and also just have time to himself.

buck still brings dinner over once a week. he takes eddie on hikes. he and tommy fly him to san diego for the day and they go to the beach. but eddie also goes golfing with the LAFD Discord club. He goes to Station 133, which has the nicest kitchen in the LAFD, for the cooking club and learns some new recipes.

He has brunch with Chim and Maddie. He and Hen take Mara and Denny to mini-golf. He helps Bobby do DIY work on their new home to bring the kitchen up to his standards.

He learns to live without Chris. He learns to have support that doesn't entirely revolve around Buck. He watches Buck and Tommy get more and more serious, but now he's not resentful or scared - he's only happy, to see his best friend so happy. When they move in together, the three of them spend the first night Buck lives with Tommy eating pizza, drinking beer and watching baseball on TV.

And the first time Buck and Tommy ask him to come on a hike with them, and he has to decline because he has other plans, he's relieved, because they still want him around. They still want to be his friend. He hasn't worn them down.

He will always need Buck, he will alway love him. But he knew it wasn't fair to make Buck his entire support system...so he built a bigger one, and it's big enough to support them all.

When Chris facetimes him, he notices that his dad is looking less despondent. he has things to talk about, like the botanical garden and Bobby and Athena's new house and the firepit he's helping Buck build in Tommy's backyard. He's more open and honest. He doesn't sound so desperate. So Chris says he wants to come home, and when he does, Eddie's just happy he's back. Not desperate, not resentful or angry. And he has these new friends.

One of those new friends is another volunteer at the botanical gardens. she's a trauma nurse and does gardening to help her cope. eddie suggests she might like to try boxing as exercise, and she loves it. she is invited to a firefam BBQ at Buck and Tommy's house, and chris can't help but notice that she looks at his dad like he's really something -- and he's looking back the same way.

and if Chris had been worried that his time away would have hurt his dad, or made him sadder -- which he definitely didn't worry about, totally didn't, never at all -- he's not worried about that anymore.

This is technically my first post so….. yeah! I hope you enjoy this very rocky post! There will be some problems with transitions .

It’s been a while . Hasn’t it?

You can barely remember the warmth he emitted when he was in bed with you , asleep with your arms around you .

He made you feel so safe and warm , loved too . His large arms circling your body as he cuddled you , nuzzling your neck while you drifted off to sleep .

Yet…. The feast can never last forever . More mara - struck have appeared . Jing Yuan can no longer be with you so often . He has to be at the office , day and night , to lead the cloud knights and arrange everything.

( It worries you .)

the man has a very self-destructive habit of overworking himself to the point he downs 3 espressos a day . It’s a pain trying to help him get away from the coffee without having him experience withdrawal symptoms. It’s also a pain trying to get him to stop overworking himself.

Yet.

You do so anyway, you nourish him when he forgets to eat . You remind of his sleep schedule, you even do some of his work for him when he falls asleep at the divine foresight , draping a blanket you brought over him and letting him sleep in your lap .

Today is no different . As you walk down the streets to his office , you can’t help but just wonder , has he not fainted yet ?

(You wouldn’t be surprised if he did .)

Nevertheless, you open the door to see that he’s still miraculously alive and well , but unfortunately, not unscathed from his selfless nature . Deep black eye bags help you understand how sleep deprived he is . Your lover doesn’t even react to your presence , too focused on the slowly growing work load in front of him .

Papers are piled all around him , some even on top of him as his pen vigorously scribbles down information on top of the documents. (You wish you could take him away from this position and let him sleep for as long as he’d like.)

You initiate conversation with him , hoping he’ll get the clues that you will take over the position for him while he sleeps a dreamless slumber .

“ Jing Yuan … how are you ? You must be tired .“ You place down the bags you carry , and walk over to him .

He looks up .

Your heart breaks right then and there .

He looks so tired and worn out . Hair a mess , eyes threatening to close , his skin a pale shade of peach , almost white , barely any color in it .

“ oh ….. my love …. I’m doing fi-“ He attempts to reassure you , knowing your nature . However , his physical condition talks for himself.

“ What do you mean by fine?! Don’t lie to me! “ you rush over to him and cradle his face in your palms , turning his head side to side to inspect him .

( it’s a miracle he’s alive right now )

“ I’m okay , it’s honestly nothing. “It’s an attempt to reassure you , though it fails miserably.

You go to your bags and pull out a blanket and pillow , you always have these items with you whenever you visit him .

“ Aeons…… how many time do I have to tell you to take care of yourself?! You worry me so much! And the people won’t be able to do anything with a sleep deprived general! You’ll probably faint before you even go outside!” You scold him , however , it has an underlying tone of concern.

You walk over to him and attempt to coax his head into your lap so he can get the much deserved rest he needs . However , the attempt fails as he resists the temptation of your soft , plump thighs cushioning his head .

“ No , stopping worrying please , I’m fine …. And even if I do faint, Fu Xuan is there to take my place when I’m resting . “ He raises a hand and turns to look at you , amber eyes softening at your worried expression , eyes watering as you take in the state of him .

He tangles a hand in your hair and pulls you down to his lap , gently coddling you , trying to reassure you . It doesn’t work , you know better . All he’ll do is just work more .

So you struggle , attempting to just get him to relax , “ Jing Yuan! Diviner Fu won’t be there forever you know! “After a while you both give up and try to have a compromise.

Your lover sighs , “ Please dear , just rest your head , I’ll be fine .” He smooths a hand over your side , gently rubbing up and down in an attempt to soothe your frazzled nerves .

“ Jing Yuan ! “ You bat at his arm as you try to get him to rest , “ I should be the one telling you that! You look like you’re about to faint any moment!” The tears in your eyes start to pour .

His eyes soften . Your lover closes his eyes and then shakes his head , making out a compromise . “ How about this . You rest for now , on my chest , so you know I’m alive . “

You glare at him .

He gently kisses your forehead, “ Hold on now , I haven’t finished . “ You raise an eyebrow waiting for the other half .

“ If you let me soothe your nerves for today , then tomorrow, I’ll go home , and rest with you . “

You say yes immediately. It wasn’t a 2 week long break he needed , but it was something better than him staying up .

He smiles sweetly .

It warms your heart .

Soon enough , you’re sleeping in bed , with his warm hands over your stomach and long arms wrapped around you .
