Gods I'm thinking about Chris/Clarisse/Silena/Beckendorf polycule so much

Rereading scenes from tlo and why they're much smaller moments, it just feels so much like they were all together-

The way he trails off?? The way Thaila stepped in quickly in a way you see people do to rush things along when someone I obviously upset?

Like, just in general the idea of Clarisse falling in love with two who technically worked for Luke? And who suffered from that? And just- ugh

Chris is also seen with Clarisse comforting Silena after Beckendorf's death. And just the whole time he seems like he's trying to keep it together for all of them.

I know it probably me over-analyzing,but let's be honest that's most of my post hdhdf

Also, just think about Chris having known about Silena, and kept it to himself cause he knew the position she was in.

We see him described as looking "guilty" with Beckendorf's death, and overall just love the idea of Silena and him bounding. Her using her charmspeak to pull him out of panic attacks and him supporting her through dealing with Luke

I know I seen some people tend to use the Achilles and Patroclus parrels with Ruegard as a way to say that Clarisse didn't romantically love Chris by comparing him to Briseis but???

Like- wouldn't that be the other way around then???

Also over all its not a great comparison cause Chris was a guy they rescued unlike Briseis who was a literal trophy wife.

Like she was a prisoner of war, that Achilles literally got upset over being taken away from him. Like the Achilles and Patroclus and Clarisse and Silena thing is fair but like...Briseis was literally forced to be with the greeks. Chris wasn't. He wanted nothing to do with Luke or Kronos anymore.

Literally the chariot thing in the books? That's a comparison between Achilles vs Agamemmon and Clarisse vs Michael in a lot less uncomfortable way

Annabeth woke up to a hard knock on the door. Her face was buried in one of Percy's soft pillows, and his chest was pressed up against her back, holding her in a comfortable little spoon position. Percy Jackson was an excellent cuddler, which was on her "must have" list for a future prince consort. Not that she was thinking that far ahead.

"Pedro Felipe Juan de Todos," a male voice yelled into their room. Annabeth was only half awake, and thought distantly, who the hell is Pedro?

"Qué?" Percy called back.

Oh right, Annabeth thought. He was Pedro. "Jackson" was his mother's maiden name, the Duke's second wife. He was her only son. And "Percy" was ... she actually had no idea if "Percy" was any part of his legal name. (She herself was Ambritt Ingrid and then several long Swedish names almost no one ever bothered with. Princess Annabeth, or Princess Ambritt if she was home-side, was much easier).

"[Is her royal highness Princess Annabeth of Sweden in there with you?] The man asked.

"[Who wants to know?]" Percy asked back.

"[Her security detail.]"

Annabeth tried to keep a neutral, uninformed face, remembering that she led him to believe she did not speak Spanish last night.

"Sorry about my brother. Your people are looking for you," Percy said.

Annabeth looked at her phone. She'd missed a call from her dad. Kings generally did not like being left to go to voicemail.

"I have to call my dad back," she said, sitting up. Percy sat up with her. She let her eyes roam over his chest again. He had a bite mark on one of his pecks. She hadn't meant to bite him that hard.

The night before had been ... wow. The sex had been some the best, but he was, well, just fun. She liked him. She liked him a lot. Annabeth smiled at him, and he smiled back.

"[You are such a gorgeous woman. I don't know how I've gotten so lucky to enjoy you in my bed two nights in a row,]" he'd muttered to her in Spanish the night before when he thought she couldn't understand. He turned her on, sure, but he also gave her butterflies. He was, in Annabeth's opinion, kind of the perfect Prince Charming.

And a Prince Charming she had to be honest with.

"Percy, about last night --" she started. I know what you were saying, she thought, and it was so kind. I'm sorry for lying. But I feel --

While she was planning her speech, Percy interrupted her.

"It can't happen again."

Annabeth leaned back, grabbing the sheets to cover the bare chest on instinct. "What?" She asked, suddenly confused about how the night before had gone. "Why not? What happened?"

Percy looked shocked and then a bit scared. "No, no, I'm sorry," he reached for her but she leaned back, so he settled for running a hand through his sleep messed hair. "I thought that's what you were going to say," he explained.

"Oh," Annabeth said, relaxing a little. "That wasn't even a little bit what I was going to say."

Percy's eyes lit up. "Really?" He asked.

"I was going to say," Annabeth scooted closer. It maybe wasn't the best time for the Spanish confession. "I was going to say that I had a great time last night." She let the sheet fall down. "And not just the sex, but that was amazing. It was really fun hanging out with you. And I'd like to keep hanging out with you."

Percy nodded. "Yeah, yeah, that'd be awesome!" He said with a wide smile.

"How much longer are you in Paris?" She asked.

"A few days, then I go back to New York," he said.

"Me too," she said. "I have a private tour of the catacombs today. If you want to join me?"

"Dark, underground tunnels full of dead bodies? Sounds like a great date spot," he said.

"I think so," Annabeth said with a smile. "Let me just call my dad back."

Before she could reach for her phone, Percy snuck a hand into her hair and pulled her in for another kiss, pressing gently on the back of her neck to bring their mouths together. Annabeth sank into it, not caring about morning breath or anything. He was a dangerously good kisser. Annabeth didn't stand a chance.

The King of Sweden picked up on the first ring, as if he didn't have better things to do than wait for his daughter to call.

"Hi, Daddy, I'm alive and perfectly safe," she said.

Percy raised an eyebrow at her and mouthed daddy? At her. She frowned and mouthed back thin ice.

He just chuckled. She'd given him a little honesty and now she wasn't scary any more? She'd have to find some way to fix that.

"[Are you still with Percy?"] Her dad asked her in Swedish, not worrying about titles for a boy so much lower in status than him. Although, her dad never seemed rude when he ignored titles. He just seemed like a normal dad. Annabeth liked that the most about her father.

"I am," she said. "He's going to join me at the catacombs today. I'm going to call Hugo to pick us up in a few minutes and bring us back to the hotel before we go over."

"[Why are you speaking English?]" He asked.

"Uh..." How did she explain that she was pretty close to getting her childhood crush to finally date her, and she didn't need her muppet voice ruining it? She got a little quieter. "[Percy is still here. It just seems rude to speak a language he doesn't in front of him,]" she said rapidly.

She felt Percy's arms snake around her, and he planted a kiss to her cheek.

"[Alright sweetheart. Be safe, stay in touch,]" her father said. She wondered if he would worry so much if he had remarried and given the nation a few spares. But after her mother died, he simply declared that Annabeth was more than enough for him and for the country. It did make Annabeth feel rather special.

"[Love you too,]" she promised, before hanging up the phone.

"I'm sorry I said you sound like a muppet," Percy said again, still holding onto her. "You actually sound really cute. You're voice is higher when you speak Swedish," he said.

"I'm glad you think so," she said, "because I need to call my driver, and he only speaks Swedish."

A few minutes later, her security and rides were arranged. Percy took a quick shower and got dressed. She showered with him to cut down on water, to prove she did in fact care about the environment.

Percy got dressed in a crisp button down and a pair of jeans.

Annabeth only had her clothes from the night before. "I guess you got your wish," she said, as she rebuttoned her wrinkled blouse. "Walk of --" certainly not shame "--satisfaction," she landed on.

Percy smirked and picked up her panties. "Commando or dirty undies?" He asked.

Annabeth reached into her purse and pulled out a clean pair. "You think I'd suffer the indignity of either? I'm always prepared," she told him. He handed her the dirty pair as she slipped the clean ones on under her skirt.

Annabeth shook her head. "You keep them," she said. "But if I find them for sale online, that will be an act of war," she promised.

Percy stashed them under his pillow, and she was pretty sure he whispered awesome to himself.

A few minutes later, they were in the car back to her hotel. She'd been promised security had cleared out any paparazzi, but she was emotionally ready for them to be pictured together again.

Percy was humming something next to her. It sounded familiar. Annabeth wracked her brain trying to place it.

It's time to play the music. It's time to light the light.

"Is that the fucking Muppets theme song?" She asked.

Percy stopped and started laughed. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I didn't --"

"Bullying!" She accused. "I'm being bullied!"

among the myriad of aus living in my head, the two fighting for dominance at the moment are two Epic the Musical & Percy Jackson crossovers. One is an AU where Percy Jackson is the reincarnation of Odysseus (Annabeth may end up being the reincarnation of Penelope but I am not entirely sure), the other is a gender-bent for PJO, where Odysseus is reincarnated as male!Annabeth and Penelope is reincarnated as fem!Percy and both regain their memories in early childhood (there is also Telemachus haunting his parents too, but that’s a minor plot point).

with that bit of context out of the way, I am thinking of the scene in Mark of Athena, when Minerva is speaking to Annabeth. Minerva/Athena is still confused but she does recognize Odysseus and is a bit calmer and less vitriolic so there’s no disownment. instead a reincarnated Odysseus who is very angry over his wife getting kidnapped promises Minerva (who he can see is not all there) that if the Romans have harmed even one hair on Penelope’s head he will raze Camp Jupiter to the ground until even the memory of it is blotted out. That’s enough to settle the goddess’ bloodlust and she promises to watch over and guard Penelope until they are reunited.

Extremely luckily for the Roman demigods/legacies, the Argo 2 gets to Camp Jupiter a bit faster, and crash the battle with Poseidon’s Giant Bane, so there is no attempt to make Penelope a praetor and no branding. They do get to watch a murderously enraged Odysseus massacre monsters who have the audacity to stand between him and Penelope though (Penelope is having a fun time fighting all by herself and then they are together and it’s basically like Will and Elizabeth fighting together in Dead Man’s Chest)

The idea of any of the four people that used Daedalus' wings just threw them away feels so horrendously against their characters and I will not stand for this.

For starters, Annabeth fucking Chase and Rachel Elizabeth Dare??? I'm gonna Rachel Elizabeth Dare YOU, to tell ME, that those two art loving fucklucks are going to be perfectly okay with throwing out something like that.

Percy Jackson, best and biggest male-wife and mother's boy of the millennia, would have at the very least kept them for his Mum or Tyson or Annabeth. Fuck, even for Beckendorf, because we all see that man-crush. If not for anyone else, he'd keep it for the hell of it! Because it's fun! He can live out his dreams of pissing Zeus off even more now!

“Nico!”

Nico could only steel himself as Mrs. Sally Oceanus glomped him, almost sweeping him off of his feet with her surprising strength. Aeon had warned him that his parents, especially his mother, was excited to see him, to officially meet him as the fiance, but he honestly didn’t consider that she would be this excited.

“Oh my goodness! I always see you on the television and the Internet! I’ve gushed so much about you to your mother, Maria,” Sally cooed, cupping his cheeks affectionately. “You’ve grown so much since you were a kid, but you still look so much younger for your age.”

“Uhh… thank you…”

“Did Maria tell you how I constantly begged her to allow you to marry one of my sons? Ah, I bet she didn’t! She was always saying she would never meddle with your relationships, but I told her, ‘One day, I will make your son my son-in-law. And you’ll have to confess to one of my sons that it was you who was keeping them apart.’ When I see her, let me tell you, I’ll make her admit-”

“Honey,” Mr. Don Oceanus placed his hands on her shoulders. “Breathe. You’re overwhelming the poor child,” he pointed out, looking slightly amused as he stared at his future son-in-law who could only look at his wife with wide eyes.

“Ah! I’m sorry. I got too excited. You know I’ve always been fond of him, Don,” Sally breathed, patting her cheeks to calm herself down before addressing Nico once more. This time, she was more subdued, her smile more warm and motherly as she grasped his hands firmly. “Nico. I’m so glad to have you be a part of our family.”

“Thank you, Mrs.-... uhh…” Should he call her Jackson? Oceanus?

“Just call me Mom, silly boy. We’re going to be family soon,” Sally winked at him, causing him to smile.

“Thank you, Mom.” Nico barely finished his sentence before Sally pulled him into a hug once more, gushing about being his fan for the longest time.

“Hon, you’re going to scare him so bad he might back out of his engagement with Aeon,” Don teased, pulling his wife away.

“That won’t happen, sir,” Nico was quick to say before Aeon could say anything.

“Good. Because if you do, I think my son might choose to become a priest instead,” Don claimed. Somehow, Nico was sure that he didn’t mean it as a joke. The older male seemed completely convinced his son would do just that. “Anyway, welcome to the family, son. Just call me Dad as well, since we are going to be a family,” Don said, clapping a hand on his shoulder before pulling him in for a hug as well.

“Thank you, Dad,” Nico answered politely, returning the hug for a brief moment before letting go.

“No, thank you. You have no idea how worried we were for him,” Sally admitted, pinching her eldest son’s right cheek, much to Nico’s amusement and Aeon’s embarrassment. “He’s never shown interest to anyone in his life. We were worried he was going to grow old and alone. I didn’t have to worry for Percy. As you know, he has a few relationships here and there with people in the industry. But now that Aeon’s getting married, perhaps I should be getting worried about him too.”

Of course, Nico knew. He was one of said people Percy had been in a relationship with. He was the undisclosed one though, Percy’s guinea pig to same-sex relationships. This family should thank him for making their youngest embrace his heterosexuality more.

“Speaking of which, where is that boy? I told him we’re having his brother and Nico over,” Sally mumbled.

“He said he’s picking up his girlfriend, remember?” Don reminded his wife. Nico stiffened. Percy was picking up his girlfriend? Which meant-

“Sorry we’re late! Traffic was ho-orrible!”

Cautiously, Nico turned around, his eyes immediately meeting sea green eyes for the first time in months. Percy genuinely looked happy to see him, a wide smile on his face as he briskly walked towards his family’s direction. For Nico’s part, he felt… well, not necessarily nothing but there was a distinct lack of affection that he once used to harbor so much of for Percy. He glanced beside Percy, his eyes landing on Annabeth who was surprisingly staring directly at him as well, her eyes as stormy and as cold as he remembered.

“Percy! I told you to head out early so you don’t get stuck in the traffic,” Sally scolded her youngest.

“It’s my fault, Mrs. Oceanus. My shoot ran slightly later than agreed,” Annabeth said, lowering her head out of courtesy.

“Oh, if work is to be blamed, then you’re not at fault then,” Sally said, a polite smile curling her lips as she stared at his son’s current girlfriend. “Hello, I’m Sally Oceanus, nice to meet you. And you are?”

Annabeth blinked, slightly caught off guard. She… had the expectation that Sally knew her identity, admittedly. She and Percy paused by the doorway long enough to hear her gush about Nico and his work in great detail. She didn’t expect that she would have to introduce herself to Percy’s mother when Nico didn’t need to. An ugly feeling nestled in her chest, but she pushed it down in favor of returning a practiced smile.

“I’m Annabeth Chase. Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Oceanus,” Annabeth greeted Percy’s parents.

Don simply nodded in greeting, and Sally never offered to be addressed informally, much to Annabeth’s disappointment. Then again, it was to be expected. She was, in their eyes, just another one of Percy’s conquests who was bound to be nameless to them soon. They welcomed Nico warmly because he was the future son-in-law. Mentally, Annabeth scoffed bitterly. Not even her ‘boyfriend’ was acknowledging her properly, Percy’s eyes completely focused on Nico di Angelo at the moment.

“This is my eldest, and Percy’s elder twin brother, Aeon,” Sally then continued, gesturing towards said son. “And this young man is our newest family member, my son-in-law, Nico di Angelo. But I’m sure, since you are all in the same industry, that you recognize one another.”

They did. Unfortunately, they did.

“Isn’t it too soon for you to call Nico your son-in-law, Mom?” Percy teased, but Annabeth and Aeon easily detected an edge in his voice. Nico did too, but he easily assumed it was just Percy’s lingering bitterness over their break-up slipping into the conversation. What right did he have to be bitter? Him and Annabeth. They made him a fool for two years; he should be bitter. “They’re not even married yet.”

“We’re practically married though,” Aeon answered before their mother could, one of his arms slipping around Nico’s waist, pulling him close so he could press a kiss to his forehead. “We’ve done plenty of things that spouses usually do. A wedding is just to make our union official.”

“Is that so?” Percy rhetorically asked with a thin smile, his hands subconsciously balling to fists at his sides.

“But of course. I believe in being transparent with Nico from the very beginning, and showing him everything I have to offer so that he can make an educated decision whether he wants to be with me or not,” Aeon stated with a smirk.

“Security is good in a relationship, let alone in a marriage,” their father offered his input. “It’s a long term investment. You have to make sure that it’s well worth it before legally binding yourself to it.”

“I’m amazed at how the two of you can always turn a casual conversation to something so professional,” Sally chuckled, smiling affectionately at them. Turning to Nico, she looped one of her hands around one of his arms before guiding him towards the dining room. “Come now, all of you. Our chef has prepared an excellent feast tonight. We can continue all these talks at the table.”

Sea green eyes stared coldly into emerald green eyes, a silent conversation transpiring between them. Yes. They would continue this conversation at the table.

I don't think we talk enough about Chris Rodriguez

Because my boy spent a whole year in a state of insanity and then spends the rest of his time thinking about only Clarisse.

Like my boy does not leave her side for all of tlo. He's so caring and understanding of her and how and why she does what she does it's so sweet.

Literally him telling the others to keep going why he stays with her when she's still screaming at the retreating enemy, he very much likely knows she's in grief and that she's not stopping any time soon with the others fussing at her.

I really hope they continue to show that in the show.

Also was he just in the basement during Titan's Curse or were they still keeping him at Clarisse's mom's?

I'm guessing he was??? Given someone had to care for him why Clarisse was busy.

Wonder if they give more hints in the show to what Clarisse was doing.

Cause they really didn't have any in the books other then *maybe* the line Chiron says on Nico after he runs off maybe being because Chris was found in the state he was but that's more hc then anything hdgdf

Chapter 2, Part 1: The Sea Protects

Loki wakes up the next day clinging to Poseidon. He sighs, his bloodshot eyes, dried tear tracks, and dry throat greet him as he is raw from crying and sobbing into his lover's arms for most of the night. Poseidon appears to still be asleep (a rarity for the god to actually sleep), and Loki goes to grab some water, once again frustrated he had to seal his magic, but comforted he changed back to his original form for now, so he is in a physically conforming body for once. Especially since coming to Midgard when he's in a male mindset instead of his default as Sally physically all the time. 

He gulped the glass of water greedily down, the cool water refreshing and very much needed. He stares at the yellow light of the sun making its way through the cabin's windows as rain lightly drips down the window pane. Loki wondered if his late maternal grandfather Freyr was somehow looking at him, his essence now infused with the universe around him, as is the fate of all faded gods. He was, after all, the god of the sun, fertility, peace, and rain, and all those things were currently present. Loki thought it was an omen, a good or bad one Loki wasn’t sure of, though. Maybe his baby would join his grandfather as well. 'No! Stop, thinking about your baby's death, Loki!' 

Ugh, Loki's mood is in the gutter again. Maybe he can grab more sleep before Poseidon wakes up, so he doesn't have to think about anything anymore.

Unfortunately, once Loki got under the covers, careful not to wake Poseidon. All he could think about was his child's doom.

He knew that it wouldn't be easy to have this child, but he didn't think that his unborn child already had a death sentence on them. The child, If going by the prophecy, they will die when they are sixteen! They won't even make it to their first ᛈᚨᛋᛋᚨᚷᛖ ᛟᚠ ᚲᚺᛁᛚᛞᚺᛟᛟᛞ ("Passage of childhood"). 

They won't even make it anywhere close to adulthood, at least by going how Asgardians age (if the child will even age like an Asgardian!). Asgardians reach adulthood on their 500th birthday (or an equivalent of midgardian's 20th), and ugh Loki himself is only 1036! Equivalent to 25 for midgardians! He's too young to be a mother!

Loki won't even age an adult Asgardian year when this child's birth and death is set (which is every 100 years)! Loki can't breathe! It's too soon, he hasn't even had his child yet and he's going to lose them in a blink of an eye!

Loki thought he was done with his crying last night, but here it is again. Luckily, before Loki can get lost in his sorrows, strong arms wrap around him and hold him steady while he cries. Loki smells the soothing ocean, and he is glad his lover is right here with him.

"Are you alright, my dear?" Poseidon asks once Loki shaking and sobbing dies down.

Loki nods into Poseidon's chest and sighs into his embrace, "I just feel so incredibly overwhelmed, Poseidon. I don't know what to do, and I already feel like I'm mourning a child who isn't even born yet."

"Not to mention all the hardships this child will have to go through by being our child. Will they even have support from any gods aside from us? Or will their very existence have to remain a secret? Their powers and magic sealed away, lest other gods try and kill them?!" Loki yells frustrated.

Poseidon breathes deeply, troubled and worried for his child. However, he knows that not all gods will be against this child, perhaps it's time for Loki to meet some of his family.

"My star, I can't speak for all the gods, but I know not all will be against our child. While I do think the child will be safer with less people knowing their full heritage, as word will be less likely to spread, I know my wife Ampritrite and my son Triton are loyal to the sea, to me, and would never harm any of my children and I know they would help if they are informed of this dire situation."

"Your wife?! Wouldn't she be like Hera, and resent you and my child for being born of unfaithfulness."

Poseidon laughs, "My αγάπη (“love”)," he looks fondly into Loki's emerald eyes, so much like the jewel but more - filled with life and magic of the worlds, "We are Greek. We rarely conform to one lover. When Amphitrite agreed to be my queen, she agreed because she and I got to keep our freedom. We both take our own lovers from time to time. Sometimes we even find partners we both favor. However, we still love one another as husband and wife, as she is forever my queen, as I am her king."

Loki huffs but still feels a pang in his heart. He knew their love was temporary, but he still wants Poseidon’s comforting embraces and nicknames and love. However, he hides his pain by rolling his eyes, "You didn't think to tell me this before?"

"Like you didn't tell me that you were a god?" Poseidon shoots back playfully.

"Fair." Loki concedes.

"And you're sure that Amphitrite and Triton won't mind, and even help?" Loki asks worriedly, searching into Poseidon's eyes and finding the greens and blues of the calm ocean waves to be reassuring.

"Absolutely." Poseidon says with absolute certainty.

Also, for how Asgardians age. They age normally until they reach 12, and then their age slows significantly (and will physically and mentally age a year for about every 61 years lived).
