Dick is his earth bound angel, but he laughs like a demon at him, holding onto Jason for support, pledging his eternal loyalty to Zatana and her pettiness.

What he wants to say is Jay, do not try and fight with 6 bullets in your stomach.

What comes out instead, through Bruce’s grit teeth and intense, fierce glaring, “Not you trying to go back to your corpse era. See how I only took 2 shots? Very demure. Very mindful.”

Jason passes out from blood loss, but mostly laughter.

Stephanie barely bites back a full belly cackle. “I think he just asked us if we copied.”

“This is not a slay environment. Killing is flop behavior.” He keeps his eyes shut and buries his face in his hands. Trying to convince Damian not to stab someone doesn’t seem to work.

One of the underrated funny moments in The Son of Neptune for me will always be when Mars was asking for a pen and he was like "200 Romans and no one has a pen" because my mind was thinking about the fact that Percy did technically have a pen but he was a Greek and he fucking hated Ares too much either way lmao. Plus he didn't know the pen could write. He still wouldn't have given it to Mars though if he knew.

Jason as Red Hood: 1 - he’s got a helmet for a reason

Babs: 1 - that’s very much a last resort type of situation

Tim as Red Robin: 2 - he’s missing a spleen so he has to think about things like “germs” and “the spread of infectious diseases” and “you don’t know where that’s been”

Duke: 3 - he’ll try it but it’s not his first instinct. Emergency cases really

Cass: 4 - she doesn’t need to resort to that but sometimes it’s fun to surprise people she’s fighting even more

Steph as Spoiler or Batgirl: 6 - it’s their fault for sticking their hand or arm in her face in the first place

Dick as Nightwing: 7 - It creeps people out when he’s smiling and joking around and then just flat out chomps down

Jason as Robin: 10 - it’s a valid strategy, okay

silliest thing about my body is that I regularly experience precordial catch syndrome, which is basically the medical term for an extremely painful "twinge" in your chest cartilage that's not medically significant & which we can't really explain.

anyway, mine falls in the extreme in that the "twinges" can last several minutes and they range anywhere from "agh, minor inconvenience, I just need to sit still for a moment" to "this is the worst pain I've ever experienced in my entire life, the ethical thing to do now would be to shoot me."

the problem is, when it's the latter, I literally look deranged. the "catch" comes on so fast, mid-breath, I gasp in sudden agony, clutch my chest, and seethe in agony as I struggle for as much oxygen allowed in the shallowest breaths possible. sometimes it's so bad I end up on my knees or even lying on the floor, basically writhing in pain, clenching my teeth like I'm turning into a werewolf or something. and of course people are terrified. they're asking what's wrong, but I can't talk. They're asking if they should call 911, and I'm just shaking my head and holding up a "just a minute" finger and also groaning in anguish,

and then the silliest part of all is that the minute it ends, there's no residual pain. not even the ghost of it. it's gone as suddenly as it came and I catch my breath and I say, "WELL! Anyway," and I immediately try to get back to the conversation but nobody's ever quite receptive to that for SOME reason
