My close long distance friend, calls me Panda đź, this completely looks like me in a GIF haha đ!
This is my energy right now. I'm still stuck in bed with covid-19, being immune compromised, my body is having a rough time fighting off this virus.
My chronic migraines are really bad today. I'm laying in the dark with ice on my head đŤ .
I laid down today expecting to take a thirty minute nap. When I wound up sleeping đ¤ for 4 hours đ!
Today is not my best day. But I'm going to make the best out of it.
I have my friend texting me, keeping me company. I have my kitty đş who has been very cuddly today. âşď¸ However her screams are a bit much for my migraine today đ
. I don't know why she likes to scream bloody murder as she talks to you... I have a weird cat. She's very loud!
I have my electric heated blanket, I'm comfortable in bed. I have social media to keep me entertained. My friend may go on Tiktok live later tonight, so I'll be able to watch and talk to him there.
I have yummy soup, all I have to do is heat it up when I'm ready to eat.
My parents are being very kind and are coming in to regularly check on me. đĽ°
It may be another uncomfortable day. But I'm not mad about it. My body is taking the time it needs to get over this virus đŚ . And I hope soon I will be back at work.
I hope to do more of these daily GIF life updates.

i've had these scenarios written down since volo's debut in pokemon masters and i just really wanted to scribble them down and finally release them
#pokemon#volo#pokemon volo#pokemon jacq#n harmonia#pokemon rei#trainer rei#clai's art#trying to write n's specific brand of being mean is hard to me for some reason#in the initial idea i had him outright call volo stupid but i didnt know if that was too far so i just took it out BJFBFJF#but anyway volo being a historian who had to have studied many walks of life but has still come to the conclusion that the world is hopeless#jacq being someone who's very positive and sees the best in people even if they are very much not great to him (see: raifort)#finally realizing someone he knows is like. inexcusably horrible#n's situation wasn't even that different from volo's. both saw injustice in society and sought to change it#but even n. who hated humanity for what he thought they were all responsible for. didnt want humans to Die for what they did!!#and rei. rei was a scared kid who saw the very worst of volo firsthand. rei needed friends and one of them despised him in the end#isnt it soooo funny how volo thinks he's alone yet keeps pushing away all the people who want to connect with him :) i hate pla so much :)))#as another note too. perhaps the rei thing could end in two ways#satisfying good ending where it kicks off volo's realization that hey maybe people do trust me unconditionally#or no good bad ending where volo takes this as another betrayal. rei only liked him for his facade like everyone else so why does it matter#volo almost makes me feel as ill as n does. hate this stupid guy i shouldnt have bought pla for my birthday i should have gotten. p/kmin idk

*cracks knuckles* Okay lets talk about the elephant in the room: Style going to the support group for those who've suffered loss and telling what appears to be a fake story about losing his pet dog.
I'm going to point out a few things that I think provide a framework for Style's actions here. Not because I think it excuses what he did, but because I think a nuanced read is what the character deserves.
Point 1: An irresistible opportunity
The subs put the "Support Group for Loss" on the image in the notebook, but I'm not sure there's anything to suggest that Style would've known that was what this image represents until he showed up and saw the sign on top of the door.
In episode 2, Bison says, "He plans everything down from years, months, weeks to days" and then tells Kant:
So Style is literally just going to addresses/locations at given days and times, potentially not knowing what to expect. And as much as Fadel is certainly attending this meeting as a response to having that heartbreaking flashback (đ), this is also something he attends regularly and has planned to attend way in advance. So Style has no reason to think Fadel is attending this meeting because of a recent resurfacing of his pain.
What we, the audience, and what the characters know are very different things.
Now, should Style have turned his cute ass right around once he realised what this meeting was? Of course he should. But that wouldn't have been true to Style's character. We've been told by his best friend that he is "crazy" and been shown repeatedly that he lives right up to that description.
Style is impulsive. He's all base instinct and he acts on his desires without thought or contemplation. And by this point he is desperate for a deeper connection with Fadel. He's fascinated, captivated by the mystery that is Fadel and this is an excellent opportunity to finally see behind the wall Fadel so carefully maintains.
When Style sees the sign above the door, Style looks at the notebook (which, again, shows nothing but people sitting in a circle with the words RISE UP) like he's just realising what it means. He then gets this amused, almost rueful look on his face (like he's thinking "am I really going to do this?") before it shifts to determination and he walks through the door.
(My soul for the ability to once again gif something because FUCK Dunk is doing SO MUCH in this show!!)
To Style, this is just too good of an opportunity to give up.
Because let's be real, Fadel is so clearly lying and hiding something:
Fadel is shady as FUCK. He is simultaneously actually a really good cook (Style finally tries his burger so he knows, now), and also has the skills to work at a strip host club, and also can take on 3 guys in a fight, and also can break a man's arm with his thighs. Can you honestly blame Style for losing his mind just a little bit about wanting to get his hands on something, anything, to figure this man out?
Style is being absolutely consistent in his persistence to understand Fadel. This isn't about the car or about finally 'winning' the fight (thank you @airenyah for giving such a detailed framework to understand what Style's been doing until this point) anymore. This is about Style wanting to know Fadel himself.
Point 2: The potential implications of the setting
Now, what might give us a bit of insight as to why Style is this way? I have a theory (albeit one that could prove to be very wrong, but hear me out). I think this whole entire show is set in what could potentially be quite a small town/suburb.
There's a few things that make this theory plausible:
(1) Fadel and Bison are in hiding after Bison blew their previous cover. They're probably on the run from some section of the authorities and so it makes sense to settle in a quiet/out of the way place.
(2) Style seems to be really familiar with the people in the area. Like he grew up there and its the kind of small town where everyone knows everyone and everyone is in everyone else's business.
(3) Style is clearly the darling of the market aunties and uncles.
Style just lost her a sale and potentially a loyal customer, and she's still rooting for him? In episode 2, when Style asks the uncle to let him borrow his cart, it takes nothing but his word for the uncle to give Style his entire cart of produce for his ridiculous scheme.
Style is so clearly someone they all know well and have great affection for, and a very plausible explanation for this is that they all watched him grow up and the entire market (town/village) is fond of him.
And honestly?? Yeah, we see the way Style is actually quite sweet in that careless, guileless, thoughtless way. He goes the extra mile to fix his mistake with Fadel by replacing his car parts for free in episode 1. He helps out by taking orders in episode 2 without being asked and takes it seriously. In episode 3, he tries to drive more business to Fadel's store (bless him, he so clearly does NOT understand how restaurants work, but he MEANS well!!), and can we all acknowledge that it works?? He understands how to appeal to potential customers in the area because he knows the people there. It's not (entirely) his fault that Fadel wasn't remotely prepared for an actual rush crowd and Bison was off getting kinky with Kant and not doing his (fake) job. He is so clear about not judging Fadel's host job and tries his hardest to help him (to absolutely NO effect, but still) when the 3 guys gang up on Fadel.
Style is so loved and more importantly so very loveable.
Point 3: What this could mean for Style's character
So, potentially, Style is someone who grew up in a small town, who has been well loved, potentially spoiled and coddled, but also very much kept within the confines of the narrow viewpoint that a quiet, country town places on you.
It's in the way his dad scolds him as if he was still a child when he's at least in his mid to late 20s. It's in the way Style was so mad at Fadel for scolding him ("thanks for the lecture, dad"), like that hit a sore point for Style. It's in the way no one in the market takes him seriously; they're fond, but he's still a kid in their eyes. It's in the way he has an abundance of free time like he doesn't REALLY need to work at his dad's shop. It's in the way he sees Fadel beat 3 guys up with ease, starts wondering if Fadel is an assassin or a hitman, and is completely unfazed like he doesn't quite have a handle on reality.
It's in the way his best friend is a man who has no qualms about lying to him and putting his life in danger, and how Style seems to have no other friends or people (aside from his dad) in his life.
@wuxian-vs-wangji made a comment to me about Style being desperate for a meaningful connection, and I think she hit the nail on the head. Because along comes Fadel, a mysterious stranger with a suspiciously versatile set of skills who is also very hot and keeps giving Style these wonderfully complex reactions? Who sometimes wants nothing to do with Style, but at other times seems to be at war within himself about desperately wanting him? Who treats Style with anything but apathy?
This is catnip to Style; he never had any hope of resisting this.
Breaking news: Style is a complex and imperfect character...
Here's the thing, though: he was never going to try. The show has been incredibly upfront about who Style is as a person. Regardless of whether I'm correct about why he is this way (ie. that he is very much the product of the environment that didn't know how to handle a kid with Style's personality), episode 3 shouldn't have surprised anyone about Style. He's been incredibly consistent and true to himself.
He wants Fadel and he's "crazy" enough to go all in, no holds barred about it, and the Support Group was the biggest doorway to finally discovering something REAL about Fadel.
And its not just about sex or to prove his superiority anymore. Because if it was just that, then Style would have reacted very differently to their first time.
In this scene, Style is pleased and evidently enjoying himself, but he isn't exuberant. He isn't overcome with joy. If anything, he was more happy and excited when Fadel let him help out in the diner (I mentioned this in the tags in this post too) than he was when Fadel is literally fucking him. He lets Fadel set the pace; barely moves to touch Fadel except to hold him close. Almost like he doesn't want to accidentally mess this up, like he's worried he'll take too much, so he'll take what Fadel gives him and no more (please appreciate @braceletofteeth's amazing tags on this post). For a character that has been so aggressively on the offensive, this is shocking until you realise that sleeping with Fadel - while it's a step in the right direction - isn't Style's end goal anymore.
And he makes that abundantly clear in this episode:
Does Style even fully realise the weight of this desire? I doubt it. But I do believe that Style is in earnest. He doesn't fully understand his own feelings, but he also doesn't really care to either. All he knows is that he wants Fadel, wants his attention and his passion and his focus and his heart.
...but Style is also kind of, sort of, perfect.
Because he's exactly, precisely, breathtakingly exactly what Fadel needs.
Because Fadel is hurt and broken and bleeding inside. Because Fadel is barely holding it all together for Bison's sake, but has already given up hope for any true happiness for himself. Because Fadel can't trust anyone or anything in his life, when he's been used and used and used by the family who should've loved and cared and protected him.
Because it's going to take nothing short of this kind of unwavering, unshakable, uncomplicated determination to give Fadel even a chance of healing and opening his heart to love again.
#<my posts>#saw a post about style being one-dimensional and boring and I nearly had a breakdown because what are you TALKING about???#he's so perfectly messed up and terrible and unfiltered and WONDERFUL in all the wrong and right ways#and others have pointed out there's potentially even MORE to style's backstory because of the âcoincidenceâ of Lilly meeting with#someone with the same name as the dog Style talks about in his story#listen the story telling in this show drives me inSANE in the best way and i'm baffled at some of the takes i'm seeing#can we at least... let his story play out maybe before dismissing or hating on Style?? its literally ONLY episode 3.#anyway yes its me your resident style apologist back to be unnecessarily emotional about style again#the heart killers the series#thk meta#the heart killers#style sattawat#fadelstyle#also FUCK ME dunk is just constantly serving every single episode and i've seen so many posts appreciating joong's acting (RIGHTLY SO!)#but not nearly enough love for the frankly INSANE performance dunk has been giving every single episode#i love him i love him I LOVE HIM SO MUCH OKAY T_T#dunk natachai#ALSO (not that this means i can speak for everyone in a similar circumstance)#but as someone who lost my father to cancer as a teenager i DO understand and relate to the FURY Fadel must have felt in ep 3#and i DO think style was wrong to have treated the situation so lightly#but like literally WHAT in this show sets up any expectation for style to have the emotional maturity to do that?#and also this doesn't make him an inherently bad person ACTUALLY#it makes him an idiot and needing to be taught the right way to respond to people who are grieving. but guess what; he's NOT ALONE??#because let me tell you the amount of times i wanted to punch FULL GROWN ADULTS for giving me âwell meaningâ platitudes at my dad's funeral#...but the thing is they DID mean well. they just didn't realise how hurtful their words were#and life is filled with imperfect people who make mistakes and part of our journey is learning from them and trying our best to be kind

Pop quiz, hotshots! Which would you rather have:
A relationship that, when it goes wrong, you can tell the other person that you need a break to reassess your relationship, and they will discuss this calmly, let you go, and then go away and think about what you said, agree that they were in the wrong, and start working on ways to fix their own behaviour;
OR
A relationship that, when you want to leave, they tell you that you don't really want to go, that you're happier with them, that you should isolate yourself from your family and friends so you can stay with them - and when you disagree and tell them the relationship is just a matter of necessity, they start in on your other relationship (which they have apparently decided is the reason you're going back, despite you making no mention of it), telling you that it's broken, that you shouldn't go back to him - and when you tell them to butt out of your personal business, they tell you they're entitled to have an opinion because you've been stranded alone together for a long time...
Is that or is that not what happened? Because I remember Lila making herself pretty clear on these points, but apparently a bunch of people think we should disregard a woman's expressed opinion about her own life, and go with what she's being told. Because Five knows best, amirite? Gosh he's so smart and clever! And he deserves this - he deserves Lila, no matter what Lila herself says. He's owed it by the universe, because he had a bad life.
Lila did have another relationship like that, where she was told what to do, kept in the dark, told that the other person knew what was best for her...and it wasn't Diego.
#lila pitts#diego hargreeves#tua#tua s4#tua s4 spoilers#the umbrella academy#I don't mind them portraying unhealthy relationships#but I am 100% serious when I say you shouldn't romanticise that shit#just because you think Five is dreamy#sure Diego has his flaws#but he and Lila had an adult relationship where they both made choices#and they consistently take on board what the other one says#whereas apparently Five and Lila never once had a conversation about where this was(n't) heading#because they were at total odds when it finally came down to a decision#never mind Diego - did Five actually think she was going to forget about her kids just to stay there with him?!#the arrogance! he was acting like a 20yo in his first real relationship#and Lila was acting like a woman making the best of a bad situation#wanting to end it as soon as she was able - literally she got up and walked away the second she found out#it's not about 'cheating' or whatevs#(all of tua fandom needs to grow up about that one)#it's about Five being a toxic little shit#enough red flags to run a circus#pepper gets salty

Turns out Sunlit Trail isn't quite done just yet, so after all that they just send you to a dead end đ
#rain world#comic#rw chasing wind#sunlit Trail#Hunter#Art#Chasing wind spoilers#I can't imagine anyone filters that tag but just in case sksksks#ANYWAYS turns out mod is way better than I expected and it's super well made.#So far made the trip as hunter (first time) then riv and now working on arti.#For arti I realized that howling rifts led to sub and sub led to dar shore so I was like sweet! A shortcut!#Now imagine for a sec trying to get through a parkcore + miros bird gauntlet with a corpse and a worm within 5 cycles#before the scav ran out of karma and you were stuck inside forever. Yeah#Besides that tho I've been messing around and been very tenderly modding the game.#Turns out you can have a bit of fun with most sprites without too much effort by simply cloning the MSC mod in your files#Then changing the copy's mod info so it doesn't clash and simply swapping images out for whatever you want#As long as you have the sprite name you can do this. You can also change region names and decals and music all sorts of stuff.#In short I've been brewing a custom mod for a friend to make her suffer as much as possible <3#Thanks to a buddy on the rw server for showing me that trick btw lol. The best cesspool I've ever participated in#Oh before I forget- the symbol on CW's head is completely made up. They just looked so... Bald.#Tbh I wasn't expecting their personality to be so... bright? Most interpretations make them kinda solemn and gloomy#But nah this CW is what NSH should've been 100%. I like them. Not gonna spoil too much but their situation is somehow so... chill.#Still bad tho!#Other fun news! There's a scammer going around on discord that's basically like ''bad news I reported you for fraud''#And they're getting a lot of people. My buddy that owned my home server got hit and we lost everything. It's all OK tho nobody was hurt#I keep trying to ask them questions on my alts but they're ignoring me... I kinda wanna bait them into doing the scam with me#to see how far I get before they catch on đ#Wasting a scammer's time is never a waste of time#Ah I had more to say but I reached my tag max. Till next time- hopefully my animation project will be done by then!

Let's clear something up once and for all:
When it came to dealing with Crosshair in season 1, Hunter (and, by extension, the squad) made the right call.
Much as I keenly sympathize with Crosshair through the entire show, Crosshair wasn't mad at his brothers for not coming back to get him, he was mad that they didn't stay with him.
There is a difference.
If the squad had tried to go back for Crosshair in season 1 and somehow managed to fight their way through vast Imperial resources to get to their brother, he wouldn't have gone with them. When he wasn't under the influence of the inhibitor chip in season 1, he was fully convinced joining the Empire wasn't just the right move, but the only move. He makes it clear in the season 1 finale that he feels betrayed by them deciding against joining the Empire - to him, that is what indicates that they must be his enemies, not that they didn't come charging in on what would amount to a suicide mission to abduct him and forcibly remove his inhibitor chip.
Now, Hunter didn't necessarily know any of the above up until the finale - all we know he knew was that Crosshair was possibly being influenced by some strange programming that he couldn't control, but it was making him lash out and apparently try to kill everyone on the squad. What was Hunter supposed to do? Keep the rest of his team in the line of fire? Get the rest of his family killed - if not by Crosshair, then certainly by Crosshair's Imperial backup? Force himself and the rest of the team to act against their own consciences and follow Imperial orders just to appease Crosshair? Of course not - so instead, they run, they disengage, they show their love for their brother by NOT fighting him and by NOT treating him as an enemy that must be put down.
Hunter and the rest of the team always loved Crosshair, they always wanted him back - but in season 1, there was nothing they could do.
#hunter is the best older brother#he loves his family so much#and even if he didn't openly talk about it we know the crosshair situation was killing him inside#if we're going to defend crosshair then i'm definitely defending hunter#we can sympathize with crosshair without making hunter out to be an awful person#the bad batch#star wars the bad batch#tbb season 1

PETITION!!!!!! FOR THE ATLA X JJK STUFF!!!! OMG NOW I HAVE A BRAINROT love this idea sm.....
i have SOOOO many ideas you have no idea how near and dead atla is to me⌠i could rant about this day and nightâŚ. readerâs bending or non-bending abilities always change in the au for me, but i feel very strongly about everyoneâs bending abilities teeheeâŚ. except satoru⌠i can pickle many aus for satoru bc thatâs pookie <3
firebender reader that captures airbender yuuta to take him back to the fire nation as a reward and honestly he should fight back, he could fight back, and he probably shouldnât blush when youâre rough with him, but youâre really pretty and stubborn and sure the ropes you put around his hands and ankles are really tight but it could have been worse. and you havenât burned or scarred him, and you even give him some of fish you capture and cook along the way, so maybe you donât really hate him that much. itâs so much of yuuta nervously rambling as you two travel and you not responding, but that doesnât stop yuuta, nor does it deter him from thinking that youâre not all bad. clearly youâre strong and determined and you believe capturing him with worth something so he kindaâŚ. letâs it be (also he thinks heâd lose a fight to you) and somewhere along the way he gets the courage to point blank as you why youâre taking him and iâd love to say he talk no jutsus you into not turning him in but also love the idea of someone else attacking you and yuuta turning on the airbending to choke them out which is insane bc youâve done nothing but capture him but whoâs to say thatâs not a form of love too xoxo
or we can consider you and megumi growing up in the south pole together, itâs a small town so itâs not a coincidence that you two become friends, even if megumi is a little gruff at first. you two do everything together, even though your water bending abilities start to differ as you get olderâyou become much more mischievous, while megumi becomes focused on precision and healing. itâs why, despite the tradition being father and son to go out hunting, toji takes you out to sea to go ice fishing and you always run back home to megumi with your capture in hand, damn near tackling him every time and happily proclaiming you caught his favorite; and every time he tells you to calm down and not cause a scene, but you donât, and toji and his mom chuckle as you tackle him and megumi tries to blush and wrangles you into a seat inside while he helps his mom with dinner. and really, all is well until some snobby prince from another town claims that your family is indebted to his and that youâre betrothed as collateral and everyone finds out very quickly that even though megumi spent all his time focusing on healing, that heâs still tojiâs son and can make one hell of a tsunami if it calls for it. (and when the storm, literally, passes, megumi huffs as he digs through his belonging and stuffs a necklace in your hand and all you can do is blink and wonder whatâs going on while his mom snickers in the background and winks at you âi think thatâs a proposal, dear.â)
orrrrrr even though i firmly believe in airbender satoru superiority, i do make an exception for stealing yueâs plot line and making satoru a waterbender and prince whoâs hair is only white because he blessed and saved by the moon spirit when he was very young. ofc, thatâs not enough to make him nearly as humble as he should be, and satoru spends all his days ignoring his princely duties and bothering you and a nanami instead, ditching his masters and servants in favor of pouting at you to teach him your skills instead because satoru wholly believes his duty is not to serve as the bridge between his people and the moon, but instead to annoy you and hopefully make you mrs half-moon someday
#anonymous#i have so much more i could say but this was getting long LOLLLL#avatar yuujiâŚ. and it surprises nobody when heâs the avatar but it does bum his out a little bit bc that means he has to leave home to#travel the world and learn the elements but not it be brings you along with him! problem solved!#and itâs kind of hard to not fall in love with the person youâve survived numerous life and death situations with and camped in the same te#tent with many times soâŚâŚ.#OOO also chosoâŚ. :(((#lives in a little house in the middle of nowhere and either you stumble upon him or he stumbles upon you#and you end up staying with him for a bit while you recover and u can tell heâs not talkative but heâs doing his best for you#you ask why he lives alone and he just gives a very vague response and says itâs for safety reasons#which makes you think maybe itâs bc heâs wanted or something or itâs dangerous around here#but in the end you learn itâs bc heâs a blood bender and he doesnât trust himself not to hurt other people :(((#and ur the one to help him trust himself and teach him heâs not bad for having this talent :(#jjk x reader#atla au

giggling very hard thinking about tristeva at yumaliaâs wedding because while i KNOW tot heavily rushed the wedding so we barely saw any reactions (or much of. yknow, ANYTHING.), they were most definitely sobbing uncontrollably and clutching onto eachother for dear life the entire time
#everyone nearby is very uncomfortable and actively pretends they donât know them#never doubt my power to make something completely unrelated about tristeva#i mean their reactions are understandable cause these ARE their lifelong bestfriends#you best believe theyâre bawling their eyes out twenty metres away#nd then evangelyne crying makes amalia cry#which in turn makes yugo cry#and by the end the whole brotherhood is kind of fucking inconsolable and no one knows what to do#adamai is probably like. the only normal one. and heâs awkwardly patting his brother on the back cause he is SO BAD in social situations#except under his breath heâs aggressively muttering âYUGO. STOP. YOURE MAKING A SCENE.â#which. doesnât really help anyone but atleast heâs trying#oh yeah ruel was crying since before the ceremony began btw#he is very emotional at weddings especially since this is essentially his son heâs watching get hitched#also he misses his ex like crazy#ok this turned quickly into a headcanon post mb#wakfu#tristeva#yumalia

offers u alnst oc stats
#alien stage oc: ava#alien stage oc: nero#ava#nero#oc#ocs#20241003#so. i have a lot of thoughts about these#especially since i tweaked avas like three times#but i tried setting them according to the stats of the canon characters/what the aliens might rate them#esp the visual stat#looking at the characters sheets i think the aliens have a preference for ethereal looks (like luka and sua) but also like sharper looks#like ivan and hyuna (yes i think ivan leans into sharp)#till is more of the rough type so that's why i think his visual is rated lower#uh either way that's why ava's is so high and nero's is more on the middle (he had regular black hair before his season of alnst which gave#him less of a wild look so i rated him a bit higher than till)#ava is a tube baby so voice and talent are in her genes though mostly voice and visual were important for nova#talent would probably be higher if she didn't kill off 90% of her personality#she was not made for high effort dancing tho#NERO WAS THO LMAO#yeah uh ava's relevance/popularity/topic whatever the fuck it gets translated as is rather high since she's kind of the media's sweetheart#first love's smile and all that#nova put a lot of effort into her pblicity and it worked#nero's relevance is so high bc he's always up to sth and makes headlines everywhere he goes Ă la there's no such thing as bad publicity#i was struggling with mental strength bc on one hand he is fucked up (tm) but on the other hand he's not easily shaken????#like you could throw him in a pit of sharks and he'd make the best of it#let's just say mental strength must not equal mentally sound#his talent is on the average bc of this trait too like he's super versatile and spontaneous which makes him easy to put into different#situations that he might come out of successfully#uhhhhh yeah

Iâm actually curious to see if, and honestly hope, in s2 (whenever that may come out. Studios pay your writers and actors) we get some sort of callback or allusion to the rumor that Jacaerys tried to convert Cregan from the old gods to the faith of the seven.
Not because I care about the gods, outside the religious symbolism they bring. I only want to see peopleâs reactions. Namely the ones who act as if Alicent is the first woman to ever openly practice the faith. Because I have a feeling those same people will paint Jace possibly doing that as endearing versus Alicent who gets painted as a monster for her connection to the faith. The most we see Alicent doing a redecorating her home. Mind you, not even every room because you can clearly see the tacky tapestries in Viserysâ room in ep 8. Plus we see her praying and wearing religious iconography. Things that are not out of the ordinary⌠at all. Sheâs honestly your textbook highborn noble woman during that time. She was born and raised in Oldtown ffs. What is she supposed to follow if not the faithđ
She gets seen as this horrible zealot out to destroy the Targaryens through the faith, and to me that is just indicative on how badly people misinterpret Alicentâs feelings/motivations.
People can have their problems with the writing in hotd. I know there are certain things I have problems with myself. But when can we start being honest about how a lot of the conversations that are regurgitated and argued about day after day have less to do with the writing, and more to do with bad faith viewing. People are watching to see what they want to see, not what is actually in front of them.
Anyone with an objective view of Alicent would be able to tell how much she clings to the faith for salvation and hope. She does it to feel close to her mother, and very kindly/cautiously tries to help Rhaenyra with that too. She then reaffirms her faith after 1. She (imo justifiably) loses her shit at Driftmark and feels guilty about it, and 2. Has to marry her children to each other. Something she expresses thinking is immoral in the past. We even see her cut her hair, more than likely as a means of punishment and repentance. Sheâs miserable and has very few lifelines to hold onto.
How that gets twisted into her being a bigot because she doesnât want to see dragons having orgies on her walls is beyond me.
Also the idea she is trying to bring down House Targaryen is nuts, but also laughable. Because between her and her actual Targaryen husband, Alicent is the one affirming her childrensâ Targaryen heritage. She makes sure Aemond knows he will get a dragon one day. She makes sure Aegon gets Blackfyre and his namesakeâs crown. It seems like Aemond, and more than likely her other kids, know Valyrian. Ironically, the most anti targ (and frankly valid) sentiments we get are from Viserys. He speaks on the doom, fears what is to come, and how they never should have messed with dragons.
Alicent âlet the people remember the ancient strength of House Targaryenâ Hightower is not the Baelor yâall want her to be. And if she was, it wouldâve worked in her favor more. People tend to leave out the part where the most beloved Targaryens (by their people) were partly that because of their connection to the faith. Ya know the thing Targaryens also practice.
#we literally get Rhaenyra making her kids swear#on a holy book - probably the seven pointed star#she makes note that they will have to adhere to that as rulers#whatâs not clicking for people lmao#honestly the best way Alicent couldâve âruined the Targaryens is by being a bad queen consort#which she wasnât - sheâs actually one of if not the only person constantly counting the cost of her people#and I just know someone is gonna be like âher marrying her kids is hypocriticalâ#mind you in the book it was viserys idea and it hasnât been properly laid out in the show#and itâs thatâs the case - can I hold Rhaenyra to her âI will create a new world orderâ line#when she does nothing of the sort of any other womanâŚ#or is the idea that no one can adjust to the bad situations in front of them just an Alicent thing#pro alicent hightower#alicent hightower#anti team black#I guess

Anyway, Tech and Phee would (will) be that hyper-competent adventure couple who would also absolutely awaken the ancient horrors on purpose on a bi-monthly basis.
#phee genoa#tech bad batch#techphee#she wakes up the giant zeffo giraffe of death#he decides the best way to avoid being cooked alive#is to blow up the venator engine while theyâre all inside#theyâre both more than good enough to handle#whatever situation life throws at them#but they will also actively make those situations#infinitely more chaotic#and thatâs on their own#now imagine them together#then again#I also think they balance out how chaotic they both are#because theyâre chaotic in slightly different directions#she makes it up as she goes#and he adjusts to the new situation#I love them your honor

Iâm thinking about Ax again and as a result Iâm again reminded of the fact that heâs very happy as an Andalite, never rejects Andalite culture or customs, willingly reassimilates into the Andalite electorate, willingly joins the military, and had the most cultural and societal support as a military veteran who wasnât seen as a child soldier. heâs aggressively nonhuman and only truly bonds with the other quasi-Andalite on the team, and thatâs why heâs probably my favorite character among the main cast - I love characters who refuse to assimilate into mainstream human society and kind of see it as a scam, taking the good (in this case, cigarette butts and cinnamon buns) and leaving the bad (everything but Tobias, it seems)
the wanderer yearning for their actual home and making the best of a bad situation resonates strongly with me, probably because thatâs how I felt through my whole childhood, like there was another world where I truly belonged and I just had to tolerate everything about being alive here
I havenât written any Animorphs fanfic in a while bc the urge isnât really there but I kind of want to write about Ax immediately after the war now. maybe write out that fight he had with Tobias that gets alluded to in WTB. many thoughts.
#like that whole chapter in WTB was here specifically to point out that in the canon heâs way less pro-human than people assume#heâs making the best of a bad situation and he never stopped wanting to go home#he sees his ending as a happy one and is probably the least impacted by the warâs end#just by virtue of his society supporting him more#headcanon yes but not entirely unsupported headcanon

I know how it sounds at first, but I really gotta feel bad for the boys that sacrificed edwin; I mean even the term âsacrificed edwinâ paints them in a more sinister light than they really deserveâ considering that wasnât really, actually their intention.
they were bullies, they were homophobic (and/or were self loathing gay boys themselves taking it out on edwin, or were equally likely peer pressured into acting a certain way), they planned something stupid and mean to do to an innocent, anxious boy with the goal of scaring the shit out of him, all because he was effeminate and an easy target. but they didnât know or expect any of the ritual stuff to be real. they were all laughing and joking during the ritual because it was just that to themâ a joke. a cruel joke, but a joke.
teenagers can be mean and stupid and they usually regret it as adults and grow out of it / grow from it. they were stifled the chance to grow out of it, at least while alive. none of those boys deserved to be instakilled and sent to hell; theyâre really not that much less deserving than edwin himself. they were all just kids, after all.
#random thought but. yeahâŚâŚ#I mean think about if crystal happened to be killed somehow pre-demonic intervention#she wouldâve been deemed deserving of hell by the standards weâve seen. no doubt about it. if the dragon guys were pulled to hell then yeah.#she would be as well. simply put- she was a bully#she was also a teenager. not a fully developed person. a very damaged and neglected teenager at that#itâs kinda like the criminal justice system right. itâs like. hey you really think sending them to be tormented is the most humane and#efficient way to heal these kids of what makes them act out and allow them to grow and improve?#Crystalâs such a good case to look at because sheâs. well. to compare to The Good Place which you can probably already tell Iâve watched 800#times and adore with all my heart. sheâs kinda the michael of the group#no one knows it at first but sheâs actually kind of a terror to people most of the time. but sheâs put in a situation where she#suddenly has a support system- people who care about her and want the best for her- sheâs given a purpose and realizes how much better it is#to use her powers to help rather than hurt (well. sometimes helping can involve hurting but you get it)#and by the time sheâs regained her memories and has a place in the agency itâs much easier to reflect on her life and be like huh!#this system kinda fucking sucks!#not that edwin wasnât an example unto himself but he was a âclerical errorâ not a ârightfullyâ condemned person#with his situation someone could argue that the problem isnât with the system being wack as a whole- it should just be maintained better so#these âerrorsâ donât happen and all the good kids go to their afterlives and the Bad Evil Kids go to hell.#yes yes I know theyâre not in hell forever (hopefully) but uhh Simon was still there for over a century and for fucking What?#gay self-loathing and catholic guilt? his intentions were clearly not Truly Evil and more than anything he seems to have been punished using#how much he hated himself for being gay and how guilty he felt for it all. like shit arenât those feelings enough of a punishment? if he had#lived through that ritual and edwin hadnâtâ do you think he wouldâve been Okay? I think it wouldâve crushed him. chronically#man. anyway#this was an especially long ramble huh#rambling#edwin#edwin payne#dead boy detectives
