MP Materials begins construction of magnetics plant
MP Materials begins construction of magnetics plant, cements supply agreement with GM MP Materials has begun construction on its previously announced rare earth metals, alloys and magnet manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, marking a significant return to magnet manufacturing in North America. The company said that it will invest US$700 million in the next two years to fully restore the…

Injection Molded Neodymium Magnet
Injection Molded Neodymium Magnet Injection molded magnets offer designers and engineers a material with virtually unlimited size and magnetic possibilities. Made by blending a magnetic material (NdFeB) with a polymer binder (PA6, PA12 or PPS), the magnets can then be injection molded like any other plastic. In addition to providing maximum shape complexity, these magnets can be overmolded…

We urgently need to move away from fossil fuels, but electric vehicles and other green technology can put their own pressures on the environment. That pressure could be eased with a new magnet design, free from rare-earth metals, that was built with AI in just three months. Rare-earth metals are essential components in modern-day gadgets and electric tech – including cars, wind turbines, and solar panels – but getting them out of the ground costs a lot in terms of money, energy, and environmental impact. As a result, technology that doesn't use these metals can help us transition towards a greener future more quickly. Enter UK company Materials Nexus, which has used its bespoke AI platform to create MagNex, a permanent magnet requiring no rare-earth metals.

Low-cost method removes micro- and nanoplastics from water
Researchers at the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil have developed a novel nanotechnology-based solution for the removal of micro- and nanoplastics from water. Their research is published in the journal Micron. Tiny plastic particles are ubiquitous in the world today and may currently be one of the most important environmental problems, after the climate emergency and the accelerating extinction of species and ecosystems. Microplastics are in the soil, water and air, and in the bodies of animals and humans. They come from everyday consumer goods and from wear-and-tear on larger materials. They are found everywhere and in every kind of environment. A major source is the water used to wash clothes made of synthetic fibers. Microplastics currently cannot be filtered out of wastewater and eventually penetrate the soil, water table, rivers, oceans and atmosphere.

Concept.
I had to force myself to simplify my designs cause there’s no way I could have pulled off the other monstrosities I came up with. Not even sure if I’ll be able to make these ones lol! but I’m gonna give it a shot! If they turn out wonky it just gives them more charm :) <3
#I also uh#need to actually find some magnets that would work here#but anyway ANYWAY#I have plenty of material it’ll be fun!#they’re just gonna be 2d#ofmd#edward teach#stede bonnet#blackbonnet#gentlebeard#my art

Why Does High-temperature Liquefied Iron Nucleus Produce a Huge Magnetic Field?
Bar Magnet Heating Will Lose Magnetism, Why Does High-temperature Liquefied Iron Nucleus Produce a Huge Magnetic Field? The atoms in the magnet are arranged neatly in accordance with certain rules, which is why magnets have magnetic reasons. When heating the magnet, the arrangement of the atom is disrupted and the magnetic is reduced. When heating to 770 ° C, the magnet loses magneticity. Why…

i wanna make a puppet/plushie(OR SOMETHING. IDK I WANNA MAKE SOMETHING) of stu but im. so confused about how his hair lays. in some sprites and art it looks like its put up loosely and others it looks completely loose? we also have not seen what the back, or really side, of his hair looks like so. idk man im kinda lost. dude can you turn around for a second i need to look at your hair
#i have clay but the same problem arises#i just think a puppet would be so fun to make#i love puppets too so having one of him would be cool :)#this and not having materials is the only thing stopping me but its. kinda a big one ngl i kinda need to give him hair#i have everything else planned out#the hoodie is scaring me but its. a hoodie. there are patterns#wings? wire and foam. beard? sculpted foam. everythings getting covered in fabric#i was thinking of putting a magnet in his hand and making a joint for him but i dont even think id need the magnets.#puppet hands have a wire base. i can just bend his hands. id have to give it to him manually but like. he could still hold it#only thing holding me from the plushie is. i dont know how to sew and thats. kinda important I MEAN YOU STILL NEED TO WITH PUPPETS BUT#its like. different#ram rambles

Relativistic spin-orbit coupling may lead to unconventional superconductivity type
Observing the effects of special relativity doesn't necessarily require objects moving at a significant fraction of the speed of light. In fact, length contraction in special relativity explains how electromagnets work. A magnetic field is just an electric field seen from a different frame of reference. So, when an electron moves in the electric field of another electron, this special relativistic effect results in the moving electron interacting with a magnetic field, and hence with the electron's spin angular momentum. The interaction of spin in a magnet field was, after all, how spin was discovered in the 1920 Stern Gerlach experiment. Eight years later, the pair spin-orbit interaction (or spin-orbit coupling) was made explicit by Gregory Breit in 1928 and then found in Dirac's special relativistic quantum mechanics. This confirmed an equation for energy splitting of atomic energy levels developed by Llewellyn Thomas in 1926, due to 1) the special relativistic magnetic field seen by the electron due to its movement ("orbit") around the positively charged nucleus, and 2) the electron's spin magnetic moment interacting with this magnetic field.

the moon has no magnetic field because it has no iron in its blood
#or i guess the moon doesnt have a blood to have iron in#this shitpost is tangentially related to actual astronomy#so the earth has a liquid iron core around the inner core#convection makes it flow continuously so it doesn't cool off#and that's theoretically the basis for earths magnetic field#moon is mainly made of crust material and is smaller and cooler#it lost its heat a lot quicker so it doesn't have a continuously flowing liquid iron core#so it doesn't generate a magnetic field (like the earth does)#so yeah no iron planet blood = no magnetic field#in conclusion risotto nero is a celestial body#amby yells
