Continued from here with @magnetic-regent-magneto

The program was puzzling at first. When the illusory debris around them began to shift and fill in the pocket of air that the two mutants inhabited, Rogue thought perhaps that they ended up in a Danger Room setting intended for Storm. The goddess’ claustrophobia was a very poorly kept secret among her team members. Rogue didn't doubt that her enhanced strength would easily clear out the rubble and- Except when the southern girl shoved at the wall nothing gave. Not even an inch. Instead the walls pressed in further, sliding her feet uselessly across the floor backward towards Erik. She tried again. No dice. Once more, Rogue was pushed closer to Magneto as the space around them vanished. Only then did it dawn on her that this was the intention, to force her into the proximity of a team mate in ways that would discomfort her.
Her face pulled into a resolute frown as she turned around, back pressed flat to the wall. There was scarcely any space between her body and Erik’s now as they faced each other. The magnetic man’s hands braced against the wall on either side of her caging her in. Rogue couldn’t tell if it was from a sheer lack of place to put them or if he was deliberately trying to unsettle her. She kept her own arms firmly at her sides and away from contact, even fully covered. Rogue swallowed thickly, forcing slow deep breaths in through her nose and then out. It was going to be okay. Of all the people to be trapped in a condensing room with, somebody she could not hurt was the best case scenario. Like an acrobat working with a net, to use an analogy her brother would appreciate.
Tumblr media
The pair was even closer now as the cramped space forced Erik to lean over her. Their faces were too close. The position a reflection of something far too intimate for a Danger Room session. Rogue averted her gaze, exhaled slowly again, and felt her hair gently rustle as Erik did the same. Despite the breathing techniques, her heart was still pounding. Was it the function of the room or something else? Maybe Magneto wasn’t the best choice for this scenario after all.
Rogue snorted at Erik’s comment about their previous discussion. Effectively stamping down the anxious emotions she might have been feeling. “Yeah. We did.” The familiar sensation of a magnetic field against her skin prompted bright green eyes to meet steel once more. The room seemed to have stopped its steady progression, but left the pair quite enclosed. The southern girl pulled a sharp smirk at the offered praise. “Thanks, but it’s easier not to panic when I know I can’t hurt you. Anyone else and I might’ve been tryin’ to claw out of here.”

Explore Our High-Quality Laser Cutting Melbourne Services
The primary benefit of laser cutting is precision. With a traditional saw, cut lines can be made imprecise by the blade's vibration or unbalanced weight. Laser cutters also allow you to cut precisely at any angle, whereas traditional hand and power saws can only make cuts perpendicular to their blade axis. Because of their ability to make precise cuts, laser machines use in manufacturing applications such as metal fabrication, woodworking and stone cutting.
Laser cutting is also safer than traditional cutting methods. The machines use a focused beam of light to slice through the material, which means there is no contact between the material and the laser cutter's blade. In addition to being safer for workers, this method also reduces waste by producing a cleaner cut. Many businesses rely on Laser Cutting Melbourne to manufacture a variety of products.

Laser cutting and engraving are fantastic ways to render intricate designs on the surface of materials. As technology has developed over time and become more available, designers have been able to harness the potential of laser cutting to produce something truly unique. The process is simple and used to cut or engrave a design into the material, which can be any shape or size. The most common applications include woodworking projects, home decor and small-scale manufacturing.

Yesterday evening, I played through the wonderful little game Mind over Magnet, by Game Maker's Toolkit! A charming little game about—you'd never guess—magnets, and using them to escape a factory as a little robot. Not as Ica, though—the protagonist in the game has, among other things, a funky little wheel. I ended up finishing the game in under two hours, but they were remarkably brain-teasing, and I had to hop in and out of play sessions to refresh my brain at two points. I even streamed the first third-or-so to my friends on Discord! (Who I may have—nay, definitely aggravated with how I can miss the obvious sometimes. Note to self, don't stream puzzle games in the future.) I'll happily recommend it to anyone who wants a nice puzzle experience, and while it would be fun to see more puzzles added to the game, I think it stands well on its own. If you find yourself being dragged towards the "Keep reading" link, it might be that the timelapse has become magnetized.

Why Does High-temperature Liquefied Iron Nucleus Produce a Huge Magnetic Field?
Bar Magnet Heating Will Lose Magnetism, Why Does High-temperature Liquefied Iron Nucleus Produce a Huge Magnetic Field? The atoms in the magnet are arranged neatly in accordance with certain rules, which is why magnets have magnetic reasons. When heating the magnet, the arrangement of the atom is disrupted and the magnetic is reduced. When heating to 770 ° C, the magnet loses magneticity. Why…

@magnetic-regent-magneto sent [ 𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓 ] ― sender inhales receiver’s scent
Tumblr media
It was the sort of day that required punching things. The whole week had been if Rogue was being completely honest. Some of her more ornery comrades, Logan, might have roamed off from the institute, itching for a real fight. Rogue however reserved a large block of time in the Danger Room with sentinels and all manner of opponents that allowed the woman to let loose with her strength- no team mates to get caught in the crossfire. The destruction left in her wake all almost entirely satisfying for her and frayed nerves.
A shower scrubbed away sweat and sore muscles, scalding her skin a faint pink just as Rogue liked. Her uniform was replaced with soft sweat pants, fresh gloves, and a worn t-shirt; comfort her main objective now that she had punched out her frustration. Her stomach growled in protest. Comfort and food then.
The kitchen was empty when Rogue padded in to make herself a sandwich, not so strange considering the late hour. She left the lights dim, relying on the moonlight through the sheer curtained window and the bulb from the fridge to see. Maybe it was the low lights or perhaps simply her Danger Room escapades had left her so weary that Rogue did not notice when she was no longer alone. A larger body closed in behind her, recognizable by the magnetic field pressed protectively between them, allowing touch unlike anyone else in the world.
Tumblr media
"Evenin' Erik." Rogue kept spreading mustard on her sliced bread, not minding the man's proximity or his face against the curve of her neck and still damp hair. She leaned her weight into the man's chest, allowing the warmth from his body to reach her. His soft inhale of breath was audible only because of the silence in the room. "Coconut shampoo. In case you're wonderin' ."

steam next fest jun 2024: mind over magnet
the gmtk magnet game. link here:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2685900/Mind_Over_Magnet/
i didn't expect this one to be so short, i finished it in 15 minutes. give it a shot, it's cute
Tumblr media
beautiful
overview
mind over magnet is a puzzle platformer where you play as a robot trying to get out of a factory. you're accompanied by a magnet pal, magnus
Tumblr media Tumblr media
gameplay
Tumblr media Tumblr media
not much for me to say, it's neat. magnets. the puzzles are alright, too. it's consistent, that's for sure. they're pretty intuitive and not that difficult, can figure them out after a bit of fooling around in the level
Tumblr media
the main thing for this game is gonna be you using magnus to ride up the magnet fields. apparently in the full game there'll be different magnet pals too, so that's cool
Tumblr media
closing thoughts
i honestly just gave this game a try because i enjoy gmtk's content. it's super barebones as a demo, and i think given how short it is anyone could give it a try without really committing much time to it
here's the youtube playlist, i find they're nice to watch over meals, and it's cool to see the iterations the game took (one of the earlier versions leaned a bit into physics platforming along with the puzzles) as well as the reasoning behind mark's decisions for the final product
if you like gmtk or magnets, give the demo a try

Sukuna would be a super challenging project partner in school.
Say what you like but he absolutely would be the type of person to expect you to do all the work. That, or he would pretend he didn’t understand and wait for you to get frustrated and do it yourself.
He would be popular, but not in the “likable” kind of way, but in the same way that kids always love the teacher that (not so secretly) hates them. He despised how people followed him around, trying to hold a conversation. Despite this, it was as if his fellow students were attracted to him like magnets.
Not you though, you didn’t like a man with an ego. You saw him roll his eyes and sleep in class. You saw as he crawled into his desk at the far back of the classroom, spreading his tattooed thighs in an undignified manor.
And when you were paired with him from a dual project? You could cry with frustration.
He would simply raise a brow at you with his arms crossed as you tried to explain what was needed for the assignment.
“Do you… understand?” Sukuna had hardly spoken a word to you, not just in this exchange, but in all your time at the school.
He would simply grunt, smacking his palms on the table, rising from his chair and sliding your page of notes into his hand. “Cool to go?”
How was it he could sound annoyed without you even doing anything to upset him?
“Right…” you sigh.
You would be working together for up to an hour after class twice a week, and as finals approached, you decided you needed to meet once on Fridays as well in the library.
The pink-haired man would hardly spare you so much as a glance as he scrolled on his phone during class and work time.
When you would text, requesting his portion of the project, he would respond hours later with, “I’ll just turn it in myself.”
You would grind your teeth.
No. Way. Absolutely no shot in the world were you going to allow this delinquent to turn in homework correlated with your name inversely bring your grade down.
You would politely insist on seeing (editing) his work, for organizational purposes only, of course. And his response?
“You worry too much”
You near throttled your innocent roommate with anger at his laissez faire attitude after reading his late message one evening.
On one particularly cruel Friday, you were seriously feeling the effects of finals crawling into your brain. You had hardly slept, spilled coffee on your textbook, and experienced car troubles that caused you to be late to class.
Staying to the end of the lecture to apologize to your professor for this lapse, you expected an understanding, “Hey, no worries, life happens, I’ve been there.” And instead received and overtly harsh, “Do you know how much participation counts for in my class? Don’t let it happen again.”
Was it childish? Yes. Was it overly emotional? Also yes. But did ever ounce of your validation come from the adult figures in your life? Of course. So how could you not cry at the knowledge that you had disappointed, let down, upset, one of the professors you had previously admired?
By the time you reached your seats in the library Sukuna was already laid across his own spot, not unlike a jungle cat.
This was the first time he had arrived before you.
Another wave of shame passed your consciousness at the thought of this no-good-trouble-maker showing up to the library with more dependability than you, and huffed a sigh.
Sukuna rolled his neck back down when you sat across from him. As usual, no words passed between you, but he seemed to be observing you closely.
He didn’t pull out his phone, he didn’t grumble responses. No, in fact, be pulled out a notebook and took notes. Finalized an outline for points of contention in his part of the project. And even seemed to consider your own writings (that you had been sending him weekly).
And even as you were starting to rise from your seat, he didn’t race off, groaning as if he had just wasted an hour of his life he regretted to never see again, but rather, stood slowly, and leaned down to try and catch your gaze.
Eventually, you had to meet his eyes, patient beast he was, and as your arms fumbled with your backpack, he just raised an eyebrow and murmured,
“Take care.”
Before he was gone.
Imagine your shock when your professor grades the paper and presentation you had been slaving over, after being horrified with the end result due to Sukuna inability to send his part in and after a panicked email about how unsportsman your teammate was, begging to please please please take into consideration the difference between students, with a glowing review, claiming that it was always a privilege to read “the two of y’all’s work”.
Turns out the delinquent who slept in class, avoided contact with fellow students, never so much as attempted to prove his understanding of the project, and stared blankly at you as your “tutored” him on the subject, was neck and neck with you as top student in class.
Son of a bitch.
