Something that bothers me about m-spec gay/lesbian discourse is that, from where I'm standing, m-spec gays and lesbians are a very clear minority within a minority. I see arguments saying lesbian/gay identity is being erased, as if most people had any idea what any of these words meant.
Straight men going after lesbians isn't m-spec lesbians' fault, it's the fault of whoever is ignoring that you aren't into them. Placing the blame on other women/feminine-aligned/female-aligned people is really strange. I can promise you the fuckboy who is going after women who clearly aren't into him isn't on Tumblr reading this post.
Another reason against this label is "m-spec gays/lesbians can leave you for a person of the opposite sex", and I have 3 issues with that:
1. Exclusive gays/lesbians can leave you for another man/woman, too.
2. Being m-spec doesn't make you a cheater, this sounds like recycled biphobia.
3. Even if you do enter a relationship with an m-spec gay/lesbian and they do leave for someone of the other sex, how is this worse than being cheated on with someone of the same gender?
I've been with bi men and straight men who rarely go for other men, so I get how it feels when they do go after women right after me, but how is that different from any time a gay man has done the same but with another guy instead? I don't think these questions can be answered without some prejudice against m-spec people overall, but I am open to read other ideas. Please be nice! We are not enemies.

What exactly "terfs" are
I see a lot of young people say "lol fuck terfs" or something similar and then I see them say stuff like:
"you can only be a lesbian nonbinary if you're AFAB, otherwise, you're not a lesbian" - this is anti trans and nonbinary statement (aka "terfs")
"transgender people can't be gay or lesbian" - this is anti trans and nonbinary statements (aka "terfs")
"2spirit people aren't in the trans umbrella, they're just spicy cis" - this is xenophobic/racist towards indigenous populatons AND anti trans and non image statement (aka "terfs")
And so many more things
Terfs = trans EXCLUSIONARY radical feminists.
They hate transgender people. They hate nonbinary people. They can be "seemingly harmless" or "just superficial" things that make trans and/or nonbinary people "YIKES 😬" . They can be as severe as screaming trans people are p3d0s. They can be as severe as funding anti transgender government representatives and/or sending their money to organizations that are pro-conversion therapy for transgender people.

Meeting other queer people irl made me realize how irrelevant online queer discourse is. My teacher was nonbinary and gay, no one cared. A girl in the hospital was a lesbian who liked guys, no one in the group of mainly cishetallos even batted an eye. Don’t let online discourse get you down because in the real world people don’t care.

FtM4FtM / T-M4T-M
( or mtm4ftm / mtm if some trans men prefer that label over ftm )
for any achillean mlm trans men that prioritize their attraction to other trans men / men-aligned people
- does not have to be exclusive, it could just be a preference

I do not mean any harm with this poll, I just want to see what people think. Any negativity or hate in the comments will be deleted, so please keep it civil, genuine questions are allowed though.
(I had to remake the poll because I forgot to change the poll duration, but luckily it only had 3 responses when I realised this)

Usually I'm not super uptight about sexuality headcannons, probably because I tend to just throw whichever m-spec identity I feel fits a characters vibes the most at them and call it a day, since it maximises the amount of characters I can ship with them. That being SAID, I refuse to accept a reality in which Commander Peepers is attracted to woman. I simply cannot fathom a universe in which that would be true. I don't know what it is but something about Peepers gives me such strong gay vibes I can't see him as anything but.

Free-Oriented
may also be called freesexual if you so please.
A general orientation term where you are choosing to not prioritize labels in your identity. Maybe because you've come to understand that your identity is too personal to be put in a few words, having to explain the specifics/meaning of your identity repeatedly is stressful, your identity is fluid in multiple ways and trying to put a name on every part as it moves away from you is exhausting, a mix of these things, or any other reason. This is a term for those who are frustrated, stressed, or tired with their identity itself or how people treat it.
You do not have to stop using labels completely to be free-oriented, this simply means you're dropping labels as something that keeps you up and defines you. It's a recognition that we are all unique and even the boxes you create for yourself you'll eventually outgrow because we are constantly evolving beings and it's impossible to know everything about ourselves.

We need more cheesy shit for the queers man! when will we have a shitty rom-com!? that's what I call true equality 🏳️‍🌈💅 give me the dumbass love-dodecahedron between the whole alphabet that we all hate and make it an intensely interconnected web of drama, "dont get back together", alphabet maphia and at least 3 will-they-wont-they's that we all know will end up together. Maybe the aros & aces have a B-plot of trying to advise all the allos to not be dumbasses. Not that I'd even watch it tbh but it's nice to have the option tho 🤷‍♂️
it's nice not having everything be serious/about how all of us have anxiety or depression or etc. I mean like- alot of us do but still! Wheres the gay how I met your mother or something and the gay shows we can hate watch together for fun cause their purposely bad 😂

The weird thing about m-spec lesbian hate is that like, they’re still gay. Like people accuse others of not being queer all the time but this isn’t even that. You’re saying someone should kill themselves because you don’t like the word they’re using. What the hell
