Dumbasses: Being aseuxal is unnatural!
*the over 2000 species of animals that produce asexually*
Dumbasses: Being gay is unnatural! It's Adam end Eve not Adam and Steve!
*the over 1500 species of animals that show same-sex relationship behaviors.*
Dumbasses: you can't be trans! God intended for you to be a boy/girl!
*the 5% of animals that can change gender*
Dumbasses: you can't be intersex! Your a boy or a girl!
*the 65,000 species of animals that have both male and female organs*
If it was unnatural, then why did Mother Nature make these animals?

Some ideas how to write a fanfic shipping a canonically asexual/aromantic character:
- have them discuss their asexuality/aromanticism with their partner
- make the love unreciprocated
- make it a queeerplatonic relationship
- make it a sexless relationship
- write the characters trying to find out how to make them both satisfied in a relationship with one person being ace and one not
Just saying "but aces can still have sex" is disregarding the character's personality. It is true but an asexual person having sex still thinks about it differently than an allo. Putting more effort into acknowledging the character's sexuality may result into a unique dynamic and cool story

our teacher told us to write an essay about any topic we'd like
sir, prepare to read paragraphs upon paragraphs about asexuality and aromanticism and how platonic relationships are just as good as everything else and not everyone has to have romance and sex in their lives to be fulfilled

i think the most ignorant question you can ask someone who doesn’t desire a romantic relationship is
“But isn’t that lonely?”
As if the absence of intimacy can leave one feeling empty.
As if happiness can only be derived from a romantic partnership.
I wish they could feel the absolute happiness i posses when i walk into a room and find my dog laying on the couch, wagging his tail upon my mere presence.
The comfort i feel from snuggling that tiny dog who fits perfectly against my chest like a parent and their newborn.
The sweet affection my dog gives me. The unconditional love. The fact that i can change as a person, cut my hair, do my makeup, and he is still able to recognize me.
Or perhaps the laughter that fills the kitchen whenever my siblings gather there.
The comfort my father brings me by knowing me so well that at times i wonder how he even managed to figure out the things i never say.
True love is not simply found in a romantic partner.
True love surrounds you.
It is the trees that breathe in carbon so you may breathe oxygen.
The flowers that bloom and seeds that fall to continue the cycle of their life.
Love is the wind blowing your hair into your face in an absurd caress that feels invasive.
Love is the sun and moon that constantly rise and fall to show the contrast of night and day.
People who think so true that love can only be found in romance believe that i live in a simple and sad reality, but they can’t even manage to find love in the simple act of living.
I pity them, more than they could ever pity me.

Can we normalize horny asexuals?
Like, I don’t want to have physical sex with anyone, but I will write some of the most gnarly smut ever read when I get a little itch.

Here's your friendly remider that aces and aros are real, valid and are queer enough to be part of the community. If you think other wise you're free to get off my page. (I will not fight anyone on this. I'll block anyone that disagrees, no questions asked.)

dude. What the actual fuck is wrong with some folks.
An asexual led a pride parade, and all I've seen are posts saying:
"A lack of sexuality isn't a sexuality"
"Having no libido doesn't make you queer"
"You're not discriminated against"
"Asexuals are not queer"
???????????? Asexuals are discriminated against because of people like you who have decided to gatekeep pride because of your own pathetic rules that no one asked for. The whole point in being queer is that you're not heteronormative/don't fit in with being cis or het. Guess what? Asexuality makes you queer. I will scream it into your ear until you cannot hear anything else - asexuals are as queer as the rest of us.
If you choose to exclude asexuals or aromantics from pride, I will personally be sending a volley of tomahawks upon you. Get a fucking grip.

I've been feeling so much emotion lately about these things that I did this: Mir with the asexual flag, look at him go!!
Tumblr media
And I made a lot of drafts of the text that I would like to write, because this is a post with my set of thoughts, so-
I recently took random quizzes and saw that the character was headcanoned as an aroace, although before that I had seen only bisexual headcanons.
Oh fuck, this made me so happy that I even wondered why..why if it’s important to me, I can’t talk about it on my damn territory. Allonormativity has been burning me out for as long as I can remember, it has led me to negative points in my life, I don’t like it.
So I have to clarify: All fandom/OC content here is asexual/aromantic (platonic, in general). I have no idea why it’s hard for me to talk about this, but I need to talk about this, because otherwise I start to hate what I do, and that’s terrible. What's the point of wasting time and effort on a piece of art that I can't even talk honestly about? End of statement.

Watching a video on aphobic memes reminded me of something...
It was basically like "Asexual and aromantic people don't face systemic oppression!"
And... we do. Take a look around at how much value society places on sex and romance. Many systems rely on the expectation you will fall in love and get married. We've all heard the meme about getting married for tax reasons. Romance is even used as a measure of happiness. I'm in therapy, and my therapist will sometimes have to use certain charts and templates with me. A good chunk of them always involve discussing romantic life. I'm blessed that she is perfectly accepting of me being aroace, and we've even discussed how harmful it is that there's so much pressure. I've heard of other people in the community who had their asexuality/aromanticism treated like a problem in therapy.
Or, in the medical industry: I was having severe abdominal pains and went to the ER. The nurses were absolutely convinced it was an STD, despite me swearing I'm not sexually active. They only focused on the idea of an STD. It later ended up being an intestinal issue. They pressured me into doing a pelvic exam, then used the wrong size instrument so I was screaming in pain the whole time. All because they couldn't believe there was a patient who did NOT have sex. Who was NOT in a relationship. The expectation was that teenager = sex.
We are continuously taught this idea that everyone has sex and falls in love. All of our systems are built around it. Our whole society expects it. If you are not in any relationship, you are stereotyped as lonely and/or crazy. If you are in a purely sexual relationship, you are stereotyped as being vain and sex-crazed. If you are in a purely romantic relationship, you are stereotyped as leading your partner on and incompatible with others.
I'm fortunate enough to have grown up surrounded by people who loved and supported me for my identity. I love myself for my identity. But even I have still faced discrimination and harm as a result of it. I still get anxious when a doctor touches me. I still feel left behind when I see my friends getting into relationships. But I don't want to change myself.
I want to change the world around me. We deserve better.

🌟 Warning of Acephoba 🌟
Tumblr media
First I know, I come back after months and post two posts on Acephoba. I feel like we need to talk about this more, because there is so much hate going towards the ace community.
This was just one post I picked at random on Twitter or X with thousands of comments and I've picked out a few. We can just see the lack of understanding of what asexuality actually means and just the general acephobic comments of that we make it up.
People don't realise how much hate we as asexuals get, I admit since coming out I definitely seen way more acephobic comments, I thought people wouldn't care about asexuls and would just let them get on with their lives, but clearly not. People feel the need to say their hate towards us.
I mean they probably don't even realise that in the UK Asexuals aren't protected by the Equality Act meaning we could just be sent to therapy.
It just frustrated me how people actually bring hate towards asexuals, like why do they want to comment on our sexuality?
Anyways, I shall leave you all in peace until I feel the need to rant again, might post a positive asexuality comment thread because I feel like we need one ✨️
Hope everyone is well and having a good week, stay strong 🖤🩶🤍💜
