I was fine with forgiving Greta Gerwig for splitting up Barbie and Ken and just believing that the two would reunite eventually, but today I remembered that this isn't the first time she breaks up a canon couple.

In 2019, Greta (at least implied that she) also broke up Jo March and Friedrich Bhaer, my literal OTP OF OTPS.

I get that the way the story in Barbie (2023) plays out means that Barbie and Ken's breakup makes sense and is almost something necessary, but it's really sad to me that Barbie is portrayed as never having loved Ken despite the fact that, oh I don't know, they were literally made for each other.

Once that is added to the Jo/Friedrich thing from Little Women (2019), I'm starting to think Greta doesn't believe in love 😔

"The March family makes headlines once more as oldest sister Meg March takes to the red carpet for the premiere of her latest movie.

The young starlet turned heads in an understated pink lace gown, and with her handsome new husband, producer John Brooke, on her arm. Also attending was the actress' sister, Josephine March, whose most recent novel has been steadily climbing the ranks on the New York Times bestseller list. The two sisters have been seen together for a long time at premieres, award shows, and parties, and it's even rumored that the two might be working on a project together. When asked about the possibility of joining her sister on a movie set, Jo March had no comment.

But while the two sisters have talent to spare, they're certainly not alone, as the spotlight seems to run in the family. If you follow classical musical news, you'll know the name Beth March, who has been a featured pianist with the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra for years now, and has even performed with a few other prestigious groups, including the New York Philharmonic, with talks of a permanent contract in her future.

Last but certainly not least, youngest sister Amy March has been gathering her own attention in the art world, as, fresh out of CalArts, her oil paintings have been must-gets in a few exclusive auctions around town, and the young prodigy has even teased an exhibition of her recent watercolor collection in her thriving social media accounts, though the where and with whom remain a mystery. Could the rich (and handsome) Theodore Laurence, heir to his grandfather's production company, and longtime benefactor of the arts, as well as friend of the family, be her sponsor? The two have certainly been seen together often, lately, leaving us wondering - is it an old friendship, a business partnership, or something more?

There must have been something in the water at the March household, because these sisters have been taking the world by storm, and for sure momma Margaret March is beaming with pride. We, for one, can't wait to see what these little women do next."

missed the anniversary of the actual premiere this year so instead I'm posting this on the anniversary of it's wide release - apparently India got this movie a day earlier than all other countries, what do ya know!

Beth had her troubles as well as the others; and not being angel, but a very human little girl, she often "wept a little weep," as Jo said, because she couldn't take music lessons and have a fine piano... There are many Beths in the world, shy and quiet, sitting in corners till needed, and living for others so cheerfully, that no one sees the sacrifices till the little cricket on the hearth stops chirping, and the sweet, sunshiney presence vanishes, leaving silence and shadow behind.

sorry to break it to you, but jo march isn't envious of men because she wants every woman to be free and she is some sort of feminist hero. she wants to be a man because she believes that she alone was supposed to have what men have. she is a feminist hero in a sense that she inspires girls worldwide to be like her, but when limited to her own story she is nowhere near a feminist.

haters (people with a different aesthetic taste than mine) will dismiss (elaborate on why they dislike a particular historical fashion when genuinily asked in good faith) bonnets as childish and derpy. but they will never know the joys of bonnet brim flowers framing your face! beautifully!!! (they're most likely very much aware but it simply doesn't interest them enough to attempt recreating)

🍰 A bit about myself 🍓

To be honest with you all i was 220lbs back in 2019 and lost all of it by ⭐️ing myself all day (sometimes multiple days) and my lowest weight was 145 but im back up to 160 ever since i got into a relationship :( im trying to be back to at least 145 but my ultimate goal is 135 without gaining it back and hoping to maybe even try to go back to eating normally and healthy (slowly ofc so i dont gain it again 😶) after i lose it. I like to go to the gym and have also been trying to tone myself up a bit. When I’m not at the gym I’m usually watching tv, reading, sleeping, playing video games, or playing with my recent gsd puppy ❤️. Im looking to slim down some excess fat a little bit everywhere and hopefully maintain at least some of the muscle ive gotten over the past few months. It finally hit me how much weight I’ve gained back since my Lw once i hit 160 and decided i need to change. Doing it the right way never worked for me because no matter what i did i wouldn’t lose the weight quick enough and it was nearly impossible due to my past with 4na. Im hoping to be back to about 145 by the end of the year.
