Since there were so little motogp fics in the first few years, some of the ships in the top 5 were there because of a single writer. So it does not always reflect the fandom's opinions of the ships. For example, all of the Alex/Dani and Alex/Jorge fics were written by the same person (at the time. There are new ones).

It also shows how a ship being popular for a short time can have lasting effects on the all-time rank. Maverick/Fabio being an example of this as they are still in the top 5 overall, despite only being in the top 5 of the yearly rank twice.

My friends and I have this running joke that we love tarlos, but they would be the couple we'd hate to have in the friend group because they're too damn cute.

However even as I make those jokes I find something genuinely heartwarming about these two people who are so full of love finding each other. For their own separate reasons they both have felt isolated and rejected and getting to do the gross couple thing of saying "WE" for everything is so special. A lot of their miscommunication in the beginning was fueled by fear of rejection. I think post-marriage tarlos is comfortably outside of that fear region and their breakthroughs are all the more poignant because we've seen how far they've come.

I actually think that's why Judd and Grace act as an example of how I think TK and Carlos' relationship can continue to evolve. They've seen the worst of each other and finding strength in each other is what makes them able to confront everything that life throws at them or what is within themselves. A situation like the one with Judd first meeting Wyatt could have been the same drama-filled relationship breakdown we've seen a million times. Judd's love and loyalty was never a question for Grace, and she didn't sit on her emotions long before her and Judd had those necessary conversations. Tarlos' storylines in season 4 with the kid talk and Iris really feel evocative of that same dynamic.

All of this aimless yapping is just to say that I so badly want that spinoff because I will never have enough of TK and Carlos' story.

why do most proshippers use csem and not cp? I often see it a lot and honestly it feels sorta weird since I mostly see the word “cp” on YouTube.

Also how do you guys feel about YouTube? Especially commentary channels or channels that rant on fictional works? I often watch a bunch of them and I’m curious on how you feel about at least some of them.

its mostly because the word “porn” rubs off wrong to many people, especially those who have been a victim of it, it implies that its almost like a category of porn, not really as something that is harmful. Unlike CSEM/CSAM which doesn’t try to sugarcoat it, with the exploitation and abuse just being in there.

as for youtubers, I’ve watched a lot of commentary youtubers over the years, a lot who I can’t personally agree with but that doesn’t stop me from watching them. I try to stay away from those who talk about more “problematic” medias, just because they’ll almost always say the same thing.

like, watching LS Mark go on a whole rant about Rick & Morty about how theres incest jokes just kinda set in stone for me to just go “okay, don’t watch people talk about season 5”
