Rereading the First Branch of the Mabinogi lowkey makes me want to do a retelling of the second half, but from the perspective of one of the women who was sent to look after Baby Pryderi and framed Rhiannon.

Because like. These women do something despicable. They hurt mostly innocents. There's no softening this. They hurt someone who does nothing but try to reassure them that she'll protect them, they hurt an ENTIRELY innocent creature in a way that I literally can't type and could barely translate. There's no point where you can girlbossify this.

But the thing that the author of the Mabinogi does is that they don't act out of jealousy, or because they're naturally evil, but because they're scared. They just lost the king's son. They explicitly think that being burned to death or put to death (no, the text doesn't quite explain how burning isn't a form of being put to death) would be a small punishment. Were they noblewomen? Were they common women who found themselves in over their heads? All we know is that they were sent in to watch over the baby and fell asleep...but we know that the thing that snatches Pryderi tends to make people fall asleep. Was it really their fault? They found themselves in a situation where they were in over their head and made a monstrous decision.

Did they see Rhiannon while she was doing her penance? Did any of them feel a hint of guilt? What did they think when her penance was over and they found out that Pryderi was alive? How do you live with that kind of secret? What kind of twisted, fucked up bond do you have with someone when you've smeared blood on the queen's face and hands with them?

Kique, babygirl, lemme repeat something to you that every sane artist knows at the very beginning of their artistic journey, because it's fucking common sense for most:

You cannot own a pose

You cannot own an colour palette

You cannot own an artstyle

"Style trace" is not a thing. "Canine with saber teeth" is not a concept you own. (And just a sidenote. I love how he, the King of Theft and Tracing, is now complaining somebody else is "stealing" from him.) You cannot copyright a style for the same reason you cannot copyright a colour, an idea, a concept, a musical note, a name, because those are free, abstract, widely ranging concepts that stem from pure thought and creativity and therefore cannot be owned by anyone. I cannot believe I'm telling this to someone who's in his 30s and has been an artist for nearly two decades, but here we are, I guess.

Please, stop embarrassing yourself with this ridiculous callout. You're not even grasping at straws, you're grasping at thin air in hopes you'll eventually grab a blade or two. Anything this callout is proving is what kind of a petty idiot you are. For the love of God, stop with this nonsense and save yourself the little bit of dignity you still have left

I think if you're making a habit of jumping into a tag to talk about how much you hate the character the tag is for and the way other people interpret the character and their relationships with other characters, well, that probably says more about you than it does the people in the tag talking about their enjoyment of the character and how they interpret them and their relationships with other characters.

Maybe get a different hobby. You sound miserable with the current one.

I vividly remember being a 4th grade little girl in 2009, and itching to get on the desktop whenever I had spare free time, because I loved watching your pmd music videos so much. I was very young but you were like a celebrity to me almost 😅 I know this might sound odd, but finding someone like you showed me what it was like to actually respect and admire a person at a young age. You are also just a really good person in general 🙂

augghhh thats so sweet man, the idea that people have been following me since deviantart/youtube is so crazy!!
