shout out to the very distinct feeling of 'oh god i'm going to become at least mildly annoying about this aren't i'. binging ds9 season 1 and i outright giggled at a very small mannerism julian did. got hyped when o'brien showed up. grinned widely at kira just Being There. felt the urge to yell and cheer and scream at the slightest hint of whump. the character dynamics and friendships are beginning to interweave like strings in a tapestry and i almost detonated upon realising this. uh oh.

#mp answers #i've been trying so hard not to be annoying to my bnha friends but if you will allow me to push this for this ask let me say 🙏#if you're afraid of the episode count for one piece the manga is a lot quicker read while being just as enjoyable because the art style is #an actual delight. its great its fantastic im absolutely in love with it #the series is soooo good and i know luffy can seem unappealing to people before they start but he's just SUCH a great character & continues #to be even now. the story is SO GOOD the characters are SO GOOD... theres so much lore and world building that its insane #if you read the manga we get 'cover stories' on what's going on with previous characters to see what theyre up to even though we moved on #from where we left them. a lot of these cover stories blend into the main story so well its just seamless #there's one where we get introduced to a character we dont see hundreds of episodes into the anime and they show up like; during the second #saga. the series is about traveling to other islands and every single arc has been tied to another in some way or form that shows up later #even if its sagas and sagas later- it still becomes relevant again!! it's a huge ongoing story and there isnt a single arc that feels like #it has no purpose (sans filler in the anime-but even then!! some filler arcs are really entertaining!)#it's emotional! its sad! its downright stupid and silly but GOD... you can feel the love that oda put into this series and his characters #and the emotions in the expressions and the messages the story gives off it just makes me UEUHGHHAHGHH!!!#it's all about the adventure and the romance of it all! its about the freedom it brings and bringing freedom to others!#its a series where treasure should be a focus given its pirates and the its a giant treasure hunt for the one piece and yet! and yet so man #of the characters treasures are things that are not coins and gems but people and promises and family and and #im going to EXPLODE i love one piece

yesterday at 29.5 years old I watched as many videos as I could find from my high school marching band, choir, and theater run crew days and realized I barely have any memories of my junior year of high school (13-14 years ago btw) other than feeling bad™️

#i know i was bullied by people i considered friends and theyre all super christians now which is so discordant with who i am lol #it was def a lonely year but i also like forgot the marching band show (it was p cool)#i literally cried my eyes out when i found the 2011 marching band vids #i was like there's little lost baby me and just wanted to hug her #and say itll be okay youre gonna go through things good and bad that you cant even imagine rn #also looking back im like wow most people were in choir OR band OR run crew #very very few ppl were in all of them and possibly nobody else was in all of those when i was?#i found a kid i guess 8 years younger than me who posted all his jazz band and choir and theater vids from my hs #and thats the only other person i can think of that genuinely got involved in all of those things #being a jack of all the performing arts and master of none was lonely tho #i didnt quite fit into any of the cliques bc i was half in half out of everything #its so insane how much i changed when i got to college (two weeks/14 days after my hs grad bc summer session...)#and that change was not instant #i was a swirly mess figuring out who i was for the first two years of college #i mean life is just a swirly mess of figuring out who you are #but like i got to college and realized i barely actually resonated with anything i was doing #and let go of and then relearned to love things like choral singing and playing flute #choral singing in college was so much better than high school bc it was for fun for everyone instead of the choral girls whole personality..#also the 'best' singers from my high school mostly aren't even in music today or doing any singing outside of karaoke...#at least i wrote a whole ass ep last year???#and ive written much more music that i havent released #idk rambling tags make it sound like the identity struggle never ends but dissociating and forgetting portions of ur life doesnt help lol #t #okay bye

Actually I wish I had friends that were as insane about naruto as I am. That's a lot of why I've taken to rambling on here about it hfkshfks. Like they'll listen, maybe even engage with me on it, but they just don't KNOW.... not like I do...... I need someone to yell with about naruto and sasuke's insane relationship. Okay so basically the United States MINT of all people is going to be working with DC to make a line of coins! These coins sadly won't be in circulation (the things I would do to live in a world where I could get Batman coins from the supermarket) as they're collectors coins, but will be releasing over the course of the next 3 years, 2025-2027.

Designs haven't been released yet (the same is true for all 2025 designs) but we know there will be 9 coins in total (3 each year) with the first year featuring (of course!!!) Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

Although we know the first three heroes to be featured, the remaining six have yet to be decided, and it turns out the Mint is putting out a survey on their site to gauge which of a group of culturally significant heroes people want to see most! (link to the form is mentioned in the article above)

The considered group includes: Supergirl, the Flash, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Captain Marvel, John Stewart GL, Aquaman, Hawkman, Jamie Reyes BB, Robin (Damian?), Cyborg, and Batgirl, of which 6 will be selected.

As someone who does a bit of coin collecting myself (mainly circulation coins like the quarters sets, but I also have a couple proof and collectors coins) I think this is a really cool and interesting idea that showcases the history of the comics medium and these characters and their influence on American culture. Really excited to wait and see what the designs look like for the coins already announced!

When i say art is less about the quality of the thing itself and more about the impact on its audience (a very cliche statement yes i know), i mean like an iconic tv show is less about the quality of the actual show and more about how feral it makes the fanbase

#Usually art needs quality to illicit such a response #But its not required #Take ninjago #Ninjago sucks. But its a force of nature kept alive by the sheer will of its secret underground fandom. And that makes it something special #Other shows- like steven universe and gravity falls and the fucking owl house- are incredibly well done high quality works of art #But like im sure people could take other shows that they think are better quality and be right about it #But because of what these shows meant to the fans #and how that meaning allowed the shows to leave permanent marks on their hearts and on pop culture and animation history as a whole #Thats what makes these shows so special on such a broad scale #to get to that level they needed to be good shows so they would be able to connect to fans in that way #But again- the quality is not the actual thing that makes them the legends they are. Theyre only legends because we call them that #Because we love the shows so much #Idk man i just think its kinda beautiful #How art can be something so legendary to an entire community of people purely because of how it makes them feel #Ive never seen homestuck but ive heard the plot is hella confusing and convoluted #yet you see the impact it has had on all of tumblr like do you see how insane this is!#The power of art to shape the very course of history all because it flipped a switch in people’s heart and made them feral #I love the world.
