Actually so tired that people mainly focus on the bdsm when they talk about La Pianiste when we literally have this dynamic right here. Like, that's insane.

What if you were a little girl in her 40's who couldn't grow up because of your mother-wife who made you sleep in her bed and forced you to repress every sexual desires and thoughts of becoming your own person just to keep you close to her ? What if you fought back and yearned for dangerous things out of her reach ? But also, what if you let her because it's all you've ever known and been taught to want ?

#these two are so entangled with each other and in the roles they play #(mother and daughter. husband and wife. prodigal or ungrateful daughter. adoring or mocking mother)#that they cannot handle it when something else is thrown into the mix #There's no space left because they fill all the roles in each other's lives.#but at the same time they never give the other exactly what she wants #The fights never last. Erika will never live up to her mother's ambitions. And her mother will never give her any form of affection which #might satiate her hunger for love. And so on.#They are deeply imperfect- Love and Despise each other but they could never bear the thought of being separated #When I read the part in the book where Erika talks to Walter for the first time and all she wants is to go back into her mother's womb...#you can't make that shi up #when people talk about toxic yuri that's what they could mean but unfortunately we live in a society #gradually learning to accept the person I'm becoming who would've been burned at the stake by my younger self <3 #been having so much thoughts about this film once again. And I know that nothing written here is new but I'm a little sad no one really #talks about this relationship online since it's really the heart of the story for me #Of course everything happening with Walter is important. But none of that would be there without the mother-daughter situation #la pianiste #the piano teacher #haneke #sheep stuffs #isabelle huppert #also I'd kinda get it if it was another film and it made people too uncomfortable to talk about it. but I mean this is literally La Pianist #*

I love how the big bad is one of the most confused people in this whole ordeal is the big bad.

Major villains who have complete control over everything and mastermind literally the whole plot are out, and major villains who are absolutely flabbergasted by the heroes and just out of the depths in how fucked everything is going for them are in.

#to go into a little bit of a tangent #I've always been a little bit miffed when writers take mastermind villains too far #Really takes away the heroes' agency when literally everything they've done in a story #including their victories and triumphs #is all according to the villain's grand master plan #it makes everything that happened to that point feel like a waste of time more than it makes the villain seem intelligent and impressive #so Sissel's little spiraling here is very much to my liking #He's not in complete control and i love that #dungeon meshi #delicious in dungeon

never ceases to amaze me the lengths that people will go to in order to pretend like sam isn’t naturally compassionate / kind and claim he only pretends to be, while emphasizing his supposedly “monstrous” traits that he supposedly must always be fighting against. why are you (broader fandom) pretending like every single thing he says is a part of an elaborate scheme. can you at least pretend to actually care about who sam really is for literally one singular second

#Final Fantasy XIV #FFXIV #WoL x Erenville #X'vahl Tia #Erenvahl #huge chunks of dialogue my beloathed...#Lamaty'i like: Maybe I leave out the part where I thought I was going to die......... :3 #This might seem like it didn't take very long for me to draft #but in truth it has been sitting in limbo just as long as the one I posted yesterday was #I just didn't want to post a rehash of MSQ with nothing to follow it for another month #so I forced myself to try to get these both out around the same time.#Anyway I suffer when I have to write this much dialogue #especially for a character I don't know as well #but it's good practice at least.#and while these are all supposed to center on Erenvahl #I wanted to get an outside perspective and Lamaty'i's is very important.#Honestly that short story couldn't have come at a better time #Anyway... there's gonna be a bit of a time skip between this and the next one probably #but just imagine that Erenville's trauma cutscene when he finds out about his mom happens between this and the next one #I'm not going to add that scene since it literally happens exactly how it happened in game #a part of me thinks I should for pacing but I'm not going to.

I can't find it now but there's a post about suspension of disbelief and how it's broken when the story starts trying to excuse it. "character gets knocked unconscious for hours but there's no further issues from this" okay 👍 "and actually this makes perfect sense because of this and that" um no it doesn't why are you lying to me. like i am willing to ignore the holes and the discrepancies!! all you need to do is let me and not bring unnecessary attention to it!!!

and all that is my issue with the whole robin child soldier argument. like i am willing to ignore it i am willing to engage with the fantasy literally all you need to do is NOT try to convince me that Actually It's Fine Because They Want To Do It or whatever. like literally just shut up about it and i can engage with the fantasy!!

Ok so Wild and Wars are going together in the dungeon right? And that's great for them (maybe), but I ALSO want to talk about how Time and Four are going together!!

Most of us have seen this before I think- and I've seen people saying they want confirmation on if it's Time saying 'you never cease to impress me little one' or not. The older doodles are still said to be canon- so I ALSO would like confirmation on it.

Also there's this ask from a bit ago!

The ask mentioned Time knowing about the four sword- and Jojo didn't correct them or say otherwise, and said most have confided in him. So I think it's reasonable to assume Time knows Four's secret from the doodle. And I want to see it in the story!!! and they're going together in the dungeon! (with Wind too of course!!)

also small brag that I guessed and said months ago that I wanted Time and Four to go together. They have Wind too, and I am VERY excited bc I wanted to see them together and now they ARE fhxvfgxgdgd

Obviously we don't know what Jojo's planning, and I have no idea if this will come up or not. But it'd be really cool wouldn't it?
