[ Marcel knew, after all, that she liked little celebrations ]. He had left the table saying he would get ready for the day, but came back a couple minutes after, hands behind back, poorly hiding the rectangular large wooden box, and the Artemis terracotta antefix within. She wasn't the simplest woman to pick gifts for. ❛❛  You know I usually get things you can wear, but I thought maybe something for your collections would be better this time.  ❜❜ The box was set on the table in front of her, lips formed a grin. ❛❛  <<Happy valentine's day, Minette. >> ❜❜

valentines day ...      one of those holiday's that ought to be forgotten instead of celebrated .   a hallmark holiday marketed solely for sappy ,   idiot couples and a reminder to the loner that they are ,   in fact alone   (   showing one's love for another should be shown everyday ,   not just on a fixed date .   )   mia didn't particularly follow valentine's day because she remained single for so long .   however she came around to the idea of it slowly even though she expressed her love freely when around marcel .   he knew she wasn't that much of a fan but still somehow made it a special day anyway .   she figured out eventually that he was more sentimental to things than he let's on .   which of course she found endearing ,   much like the many other qualities about him that makes him uniquely special .   

his gifts were always special and they weren't just a pair of earrings or a bracelet .   marcel would always go above and beyond with his gifts because he knew she wasn't an ordinary woman .   when he walked back into their kitchen with a large box ,   after he had just left to get ready .   she knew she was in for a treat ,   and boy was she .   inside of the box something not only rare but something really meaningful .   something that tickled a part of her personality that he knew he should nurture rather than shun .   mia's eyes grew wide while the tips of her finger's run over the face of artemis ,   and a wide smile forms on her lips .   " oh you've done good , "   she says before her lips part into a grin and she looks up at him .   " you've done real good , "   she adds before pulling him down by robe and planting a kiss on his lips .

i wish there wasn’t such a stigmatized view on platonically loving people.

I can’t call people nicknames and pet names like hun and honey without them immediately assuming i have romantic interest in them.

i can’t tell my friends i love them without adding on “platonically” or shortening the phrase “ily” “love you” “love u”

i love a lot of people. i love my sister, i love my boyfriend, and i love my best friend. All different versions of love.

let us love people openly and honestly without it being seen as “making a move” or being romantically interested.

please please please stop assuming that love is strictly romantic, i promise you life becomes so much brighter and bigger when you stop keeping love strictly romantic.

Need a teen! Bruce au where he’s exactly like Justice League! Batman and Battinson in one. That mf put the fear of every god in Ra’s Al Ghul.

Everytime he’s in a room with someone over 30 “Teenagers” by My Chemical Romance plays in the background.

Despite that, in his own way, he’s as gentle as can be with his league. Give me a young Diana who’s getting spat on and ripped apart by the media in a way not one of her male teammates get.

And she’s Wonder Woman. She shouldn’t be affected by it. And she is, anyway. Bruce relates to that in an uncomfortable degree.

He has a tiny Robin he occasionally has to keep on a leash.

Give me somewhat teen mom Bruce who struggles to wrangle his unruly six year old who likes flipping from rooftop to rooftop and thinks fighting Bane is a piece of cake.

“Dick,” he paused, before handing him a handfull of candy. “Wonderful emotional manipulation. Good job.”

one more opinion about star trek fashion

it actually shouldn’t look like stuff you would wear (or at least a lot of it shouldn’t)

i’ve seen a lot of praise for modern trek fashion being better than classic trek because ‘people would actually wear that’

look at what people wore as everyday fashion 200-300 years ago, would you wear it? probably not, maybe for the novelty of it, but definitely not every day.

like, yeah this stuff looks crazy

it’s 300 years in the future. some of them are aliens, makes perfect sense to me that they would wear ridiculous extravagant clothes that look strange to my 21st century eye

similar to how if you showed modern fashion (especially alternative fashion/runway fashion) to someone dressed like this,

they would probably think we’re crazy.

yet for some reason modern trek wants us to believe that hundreds of years into the future people still just wear zip up hoodies?

(idk if the spock fit actually is a hoodie or not but come on man, the zipper? nothing more futuristic than a zipper?)

or this dress that looks like i could buy it in a 21st century target?

(not to hate on chapel, she’s just the only one i can find decent pictures of out of uniform)

also why is everything so grey now? when was it decided that people don’t wear colors in the future? i can not find out of uniform pictures where any of these people wear color, all black, white, grey, and maybe a bit of muted green.

tldr

clothing design in star trek should be just as important as clothing design in a period piece. i don’t think a screencap from any star trek should look like it could just as easily take place in the 21st century, i should see some crazy outfits. the clothes can do a lot of the heavy lifting to remind us that this is supposed to be far in the future.
