lore rekindled got a 30 minute readalong video made about it by DazzlingKate22 (the same person who made the "Is Persephone a Mary Sue?" video among many others) which is just absolutely amazing and overwhelming at the same time

Happy Spooky Season!!! Today I have my updated design for Eris!! The Goddess of Discord! I’ve been meaning to give her an update for a bit now because she’s still probably one of my favorites hehehe

Now for facts!

-The brightest part of her are her eyes! Making them almost painful to look into without going a bit crazy. The eyes on her wings being the second, and a bit more scary. Mainly just two eyes on the wings but can open up more!

-Messssyyy messsyyy feather hair! I imagine she does not care whatsoever about keeping her hair tidy

-Bird like face and legs! Her feet talons being very very sharp

-And a large open chest wound! It never fully healed but it never bleeds out so it’s always open and you can see into her body with it ewwww hehehe like her heart, lungs, etc. i imagine she also pulls scary pranks with it! And even pulled out the golden apple from her chest to give to the fairest hehehehe

Since Apollo is the sun god he could theoretically give Leo fire/fire like abilities again. Would Apollo realize that's like the worst possible power to give back to Leo or think he was doing him a favor. or I guess just not even cross his mind to give them to him

My version of Persephone is extremely canon divergent and will dissect Persephone under a slightly altered narrative regarding her psychology, trauma, etc revolving around an emotionally repressed person that struggles with dissociation in many forms. In a sense she's going to be dealing with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) but the Quiet version of it, which contrasts Minthe's more emotionally explosive BPD (canonically confirmed and later retconned by Rachel because disorders are just "blueprints" to her to make her version of Persephone better.) My version will tear Rachel's version apart psychologically and emotionally.

Hi! I have been rereading Lore Olympus and just love the Hades and Persephone ship! And now I just can’t get the idea out of my head. So, this is my official call for a Lore Olympus inspired plot. We can start from the beginning when they meet, throw in our own plot twists and drama and just really have fun with the modern gods inspired plot!

Not sure how much good this'll properly do, but turns out Stephanie K. Smith (the LO showrunner) did a Q&A with Girl Wonder Podcast in January. Curious what your thoughts on it given everything that's happened with the comic's conclusion :p

I honestly don't remember if I did touch on that here, but I do remember listening to it when it was first up on Girl Wonder's Patreon and man... they really have no new information to give, the whole thing was just a lot of chit-chat about personal experiences and, of course, more promises that the show is "definitely happening" despite having absolutely nothing to show for it.

Apparently (?) the Q&A that's happening tonight in the official LO Discord will come with new information about the show, but I'm really not holding my breath at this point. Again, at best, even if we're all wrong and assuming the worst that the show isn't happening, they're doing an AWFUL job at keeping people hyped for it. Like you're telling me that Rachel and the TV production team have had ALL these opportunities to talk about the show and give us new information - at NYCC, SDCC, the interview between the showrunner and Girl Wonder, the interview clips that have been released over the last week on IG, etc. - and haven't taken advantage of those opportunities... but a heavily-moderated Discord Q&A is gonna finally drop the details that people have been waiting for for five years?

I mean shit, speaking of assuming the worst, who wants to bet she's doing it in a Discord Q&A because she knows she either has bad news or she's NOT ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT WHAT SHE'S GONNA SAY so she's doing it in the Discord to keep it more on the "down low"? Assuming she even talks about the show at all? People are definitely gonna be asking about it, even her own fans are losing hope in it at this point and that's not good.

That's my bad faith assumption. My good faith assumption is just that they're doing a really awful job at hyping people up. I don't understand why Rachel keeps saying she's "not allowed to say anything", that makes no sense from a PR standpoint. Even Marvel used the PR strat of using actors like Tom Holland to "accidentally" reveal hints and 'spoilers' for their upcoming films because it gets people talking. "I'm not allowed to say anything" this late in the game, to me, just reads as "We have nothing to show for the last 5 years but we don't want people to panic / leave."

But who knows, maybe the Discord Q&A will turn out to be some kind of actual productive reveal of the show? Again, not holding my breath, but at this point it would be a real game changer to have the show get revealed for real that would even make me shut the fuck up LOL

What is this contest? A fanfiction contest held for and in the universe of Hermits and the Olympians / Emperors of Olympus in celebration of reaching 970+ followers. Winner is chosen through amount of kudos/votes/likes and can choose from either prizes; a comic based on their submitted work or requested rendered art.

What is Hermits and The Olympians? Hermits and The Olympians/Emperors of Olympus is a Hermitcraft/Empires SMP based Percy Jackson AU based off my art and headcanons. I don't associate this AU with any other Percy Jackson AUs that existed alongside, before, or after the existence of mine.

1. Can be a one-shot or a completed multi-chapter fanfiction. Pre-existing/written fanfiction can be submitted.

2. Setting should take place in the Hermits and The Olympians AU, doesn't necessarily have to follow to given character lore. It also doesn't need to necessarily follow the canon lore of the Riordanverse either (since the AU itself doesn't adhere to it strictly)

3. Submitted work should preferably be in English and is at least 2k+ words. It can be posted in either Tumblr, Wattpad, or Archive of Our Own.

5. Strictly, A.I. generated content and plagiarism is banned from submission.

Content Warnings and A Lesson From Lore Olympus

As some of you may know, I write a comic, which i occasionally post about here. I'd like to address a conversation around creators and content warnings in this post as well as the general tremd of authors overstating whats happening in their story. I've seen it come up recently in webtoon discourse within my own comic.

So first off, right after my three page prologue I have an authors note that details all the topics my comic will be going into throughout the course of the story.

It follows:

These are ALL the issues I tackle within the comic and I leave it here so people can decide whether they want to continue with the story. I have labeled my story as mature. There is a warning when anyone accesses the comic for the first time on both Webtoons and Tapas. I also have warnings that come in three degrees that I place before each episode that handles one of the mature themes I mention. However, what I don't do is tell the reader what they're going to see before they see it. I don't like doing this for a couple reason, some of the most important being, I think makes the story redundant because it's already explaining what's going to happen and this in turn disrupts the narrative.

I understand why people feel strongly about warnings and making content safe on a platform with a young audience. However, seeing as this is a work I have invested a considerable amount of time in, that I'm offering for people to enjoy (which i enjoy doing), I believe it is important I tell the story in my own way.

When you pick up a book you may get a warning in the synopsis (although I find this is rare) or in other people's online reviews of the book BUT you have to go looking for those reviews. As a creator I can only testify to my own experience, but like novels, comics are stories and in my own work, the story should NOT be bisected by warnings expressly stating what's going to happen in each episode.

I feel this speaks to a general increased uninvolvement in the material readers are reading and a lack of reading comprehension to the point authors think it necessary to guide their audience through their story.

There has been a decent amount of discourse in the UnpopularLoreOlympus reddit thread about readers reading comprehension. It is now common practice to have images like the one bellow before an episode.

On more than one occasion Rachel has put warning paragraphs at the end of her episode stating without any subtext what EXACTLY a character meant during the episode, even though readers would ideally understood the subtext as communicated by the narrative.

And before that she would have warnings signs like this before episodes where the content would be present:

The above warning is actually quite common amongst comics but it should NOT be required by the audience. If an author is doing their job, they'll have the proper box ticked off when submitting their webtoon

SPOILERS FOR MANY WORKS OF FICTION.

No one tells you at the beginning of jane Eyre that there will be violence, death of children, and abuse, let alone where these incidents will occur.

The hunger games won't warn you before the start of a chapter that there will be starvation or gruesome depictions of character death or content describing mental illness.

Most movies will have warning before the whole movie but they won't briefly cut out of the narrative to tell you what's about to happen and people shouldn't expect comic artists to do this either.

As a comic creator i am rellyng upon my audience's discretion to decide on whether or not a story is safe for their consumption. However, I'm adamant in my own work that that's where my required involvement ends.

I will explain things in the comments or answer reader questions, i will be happy doing so because i get to engage with people on something Ive spent hours creating. I will go onto my discord and jump into the deep world building or explain a particular scene, but this should not be required.

Holding authors accountable for going thoroughly over the controversial issues every episode they post is unreasonable and honestly (for me) damaging to the creative work. We end up with situations like lore olympus where authors are there to explain every warning and subtext to the audience without any work on the readers part.

I know this may be controversial to some, but as a creator, it's something that's bothered me for a while and something I think we should be able to talk about in the artistic community.
