“I can’t believe you put me up to this.”

You grin as you watch Shanks unbuckle his belt slowly, almost provocatively if you didn’t know better. He raises an eyebrow at you, the beginnings of a blush spreading across his cheeks. Shanks was not an easy man to embarrass by any means—he’d seen it all, heard it all, and, you suspected, done it all—so seeing this warmth in his face that wasn’t just the by-product of too much alcohol felt satisfying beyond compare.

“Tch, you knew I was a gambler, Shanks. You’ve known that since the day you met me.” You lean back in your chair, hands behind your head, biting at your lip as your take in the view from across the table. The bunching muscles of his shoulders, the hardness of his chest, the tightness of his abdomen—he had the build of some ancient god, the kind they dedicated statues to, and here he was standing before you like a mere mortal.

“Well of course, but I didn’t think—”

“What? You didn’t think I was any good?”

“I never doubted you for second, sweetheart.” He unzips his trousers and takes his time sliding them down his lean hips. “I just didn’t expect to be losing my shirt here.”

“And your pants.”

He glowers at you, the devious smile on his lips betraying his feigned irritation. He rests his hand on his hip, letting you take in the full spectacle of his form, giving you a little turn to allow you the privilege of admiring his thick, muscular thighs and the taut curves of his ass, all scarcely contained by his body-hugging boxer briefs. A heat rises in your cheeks as your eyes are drawn to something else—something decidedly more obscene: the outline of his cock is blatantly visible through the thin fabric. The blood starts to drain from your limbs as you find yourself unabashedly staring at it, and you drag your teeth across your lower lip, wondering how it would look rock-hard and slapping against your tongue.

“Do you like what you see?” he asks, his voice low and smooth like expensive whiskey, the kind you could never afford but always wanted to taste.

You clear your throat and gather yourself, quickly averting your sinful gaze. “Well, I certainly have no complaints.”

“You know, this doesn’t feel very fair,” he chuckles as he sits back down at the table. “You’ve got quite a view all for yourself and I, well”—he eyes you, his gaze settling on your chest—“I’m just sitting here with only your pretty face to look at. Not that I’m complaining.”

“Would it make it better if I take something off, too, handsome?” You wiggle your fingers at him. “Maybe one of these rings? Or my bracelet?”

“You’re hilarious, has anyone ever told you that?”

“Plenty.” You shuffle the deck of cards, twirling them between your fingers with ease. “Oh, I know! How about I let you win one? Least I can do is offer you a little show for all your troubles.”

“Nah, I don’t need your pity, honey.” He raps the tabletop with his knuckles. “I’m gonna earn a glimpse of you fair and square, one way or another.”

look I understand that comic art often has to be cut down in its level of quality to save on time, but also??? You've got something good here, don't reduce yourself back down to that boring googly eyed style you were doing in S3 of LO, please I beg you 😭

The facial structure here looks so unique and well thought out, the level of rendering may have to be reduced a bit for the comic itself but the foundation is still there and I think a lot of people would be fully willing to wait for a comic that takes longer to make that looks like this than settle for another LO clone. I know you got better things to do than read my shitposts, Rachel, but if you're seeing this, don't take the half measure, you're not working for Webtoons anymore. Push yourself to draw like this more often, you'll get faster at it and the work will be far better off.

God, I’m just so mad and upset and I need to rant for a minute:

I live in Wisconsin, where the last several years winters here have been scarily mild. It’s not uncommon for us to have a mild winter every few years or so, but we’ve been having milder and milder winters for the past several years in a row. Winters here are supposed to be long and snowy. It’s supposed to start snowing in November, sometimes October, and the snow doesn’t melt all the way till April, sometimes early May.

Last year, I felt like we barely even had a winter. There was snow on the ground for maybe two months total, it kept melting and then coming back, which isn’t supposed to happen. The snow will maybe melt after the first couple times, but once you get to December, it’s supposed to stay on the ground until Spring.

Same thing is happening this year. It’ll snow for like two days, stick for maybe one day, and melt. It’ll stay that way for a couple of weeks. It’s January now. The fact that there’s no snow on the ground, in fucking Wisconsin, is alarming. The fact that this has been happening several years in a row now is alarming. I’m seeing it happen right in front of me. We’re all seeing the effects of climate change now, and we’re seeing how it’s directly destroying and harming the planet. We can see it with our own eyes.

I’m thinking about the fires in LA right now. I saw someone talk about how they were alarmed they were getting these kinds of winds in January. (I’m not familiar with LA climate but this person talked about how abnormal it is).

Everything the scientists have been saying about climate change is coming true. It’s happening right in front of us, for the whole world to see. And still, the people responsible, the right-wing politicians and businesspeople that profit off of this just deny deny deny. How can you deny what’s happening right in front of everyone? They are destroying our planet, and they still think they can deny it happening. It just makes me so angry. That a handful of people have the power to destroy our planet and refuse to even acknowledge it. They act like the words “climate change” is liberal propaganda. As if it’s not something we can see happening right before our eyes. They pretend it’s political, they pretend it’s a conspiracy, because they have no other way to justify being against protecting the planet.

One thing that angers me most is that the only thing people seem to do about this is complain on social media. (I know, that’s exactly what I’m doing, but hear me out). LA is burning to the ground because of climate change, and what’s anybody going to do about it? Make a post on Twitter? Maybe write an article about it?

That doesn’t change anything. We need change. We need direct action. It’s only going to get worse if we keep letting companies and governments continue as they are. They cannot continue as they are.

If you haven’t heard of the book How to Blow Up a Pipeline, go look it up. The author talks about a lot of the stuff I want to get at here, but he puts it a lot better.

My hope is that these LA fires will start a movement for stopping climate change. Not just a general shift of opinion like we’ve seen the past few years, but a real movement where people show up in person to do something. We exist in a time where Luigi Mangione is seen as a hero for his actions, I hope people will get inspired to take more direct action in regards to climate change. (That doesn’t mean shooting more people, I’m not advocating for murder, but we need to start taking action beyond just complaining on social media).

I’m going to start researching resources to help myself and others to get more involved with preventing climate change. I hope one day, we’ll have an actual winter in Wisconsin again. To everyone in LA, please please stay safe❤️

Anyways he found a pylon or I think I might have told him—I was pretty drunk at the time but I think I told him to go get a py—'if you could find a pylon, find one!' 'Cuz they sprung that speech on me, kind-of, last second, you know, five minutes before I was supposed to go up there. I'm like, 'What the fuck am I gonna say?' So I had him go grab the pylon and I grabbed it on the side of the stage right before I was gonna do my speech. And luckily all the clips are of that, you know, me telling him to go fuck himself... theres a lot more context about this incident and the ensuing storm after it so for archival sakes here are articles about it (x)(x)(x)(x)(x) because its quite a saga but its water under the bridge and there's only so much tabloid-esque coverage thats been reignited after the ekky speech i can take about an athlete who's dumb enough to insult another guy while hes drunk off as his ass in a fucking public setting

but anyways i think its really funny that i said to myself wow thats an oddly petty thing to admit to you know the whole wanting to throw a beer at his backswing ekky... for such a good vibes sweet man who like the only thing youve particularly said about the cone novella is "we'll never be buddies" to which you quickly retracted and then went "holding ill will against somebody and pulling negativity in your body is never a good thing"

and then i remembered who he attended the liv event with and it all made sense
