A thing I wish we'd seen more of in Bleach was what a hilarious affront to nature it was for Aizen to make his arrancar at all. Like, he went out into the empty desert, picked up some rocks and shit, and scooped up whatever critters scuttled out, then made them wear clothes and sit in chairs and drink tea in this little gotei13-knockoff dollhouse he made for them. These near literal animals, categorically defined by their being driven by unchecked negative emotion, hunger, and instinct, and he forced them to abide by his crude little simulacra of (soul)society.
Like they should all fucking h a t e it, not just as a personal affront based on their personalities vibing with law and order and civility or not, but as like a deep spiritual injustice put upon them. Like putting dogs in little sweaters and booties; they're just not made for that shit. It's unnatural. He took them out of a world of eternal night and put them under a fucking heat lamp for godssake

I read Lore Olympus. A mistake 😭 Its one of those "feminist" retellings of the Persephone and Hades myth that, in an effort of trying to sanitize some stuff, make everything worse somehow.
Like, Persephone is a 19 year old college girl and Hades is a 40(000) year old bussiness man and they met in a party where Persephone ended up black out drunk in his car.
Also, is full of Demeter slander. Soooo much Demeter slander.
I do NOT recommend it at all. Any retelling with Demeter slander is a Big No-No for me at least 😤
yeah, everything i've ever heard about it sounds absolutely appalling to me. i tried to read the first little bit just to see what some people were raving about, and yeah. the guy who took you to his house to take care of you after you were too intoxicated to function is not your friend, sweetie. even if he did nothing, it's so icky.
i've heard horrible things about the way she writes zeus and apollo which pisses me off lol. i also discovered a bit about the way they talk about cronus and the six's backstory and just KNEW that it would do nothing but infuriate me. AND i heard hades/hera was a bit of a thing, which makes me gag so no thank you. not to mention what i've heard about the author herself.
LO feels like the poster child for what not to do with myth retellings (if you can even CALL hers that). the way that story bends over backwards to make sure we all know that hades n persephone can do NOTHING WRONG and that everyone else are the problem is... ew. no thank you.

my favourite thing about this panel in episode 63
Tumblr media
is that rachel did not move athena for twenty three panels
Tumblr media
^ this is at the beginning of episode 63. rachel literally kept athena and the background the exact same, blurred it slightly, and put hestia and artemis in the forefront. you can tell she's still got the vacant smile even blurred out. rachel's been doing the png thing for a while

Other countries get to have all the fun when it comes to romance. All we get over here is 50 Shades (it's the same sex scene everytime).
This was so hot. I hope they make the full series. And keep them just as they are and don't pull a 365 (spectacle over story).
All the fingers!

One of my favorite authors is Malinda Lo. Luckily my local library has a few of her books. I've read Ash, Huntress, Adaptation( they don't have the sequel "Inheritance") and Last Night At The Telegraphic Club. And I own A Scatter of Light though I am considering unhauling it because it is my least favorite only a 5 out of 10.

LES MIS LETTERS IN ADAPTATION - A Restriction, LM 1.1.11 (Los Miserables 1971)
The fact is that he displeased them. Among other strange things, it is said that he chanced to remark one evening, when he found himself at the house of one of his most notable colleagues: “What beautiful clocks! What beautiful carpets! What beautiful liveries! They must be a great trouble. I would not have all those superfluities, crying incessantly in my ears: ‘There are people who are hungry! There are people who are cold! There are poor people! There are poor people!’” Let us remark, by the way, that the hatred of luxury is not an intelligent hatred. This hatred would involve the hatred of the arts. Nevertheless, in churchmen, luxury is wrong, except in connection with representations and ceremonies. It seems to reveal habits which have very little that is charitable about them. An opulent priest is a contradiction. The priest must keep close to the poor. Now, can one come in contact incessantly night and day with all this distress, all these misfortunes, and this poverty, without having about one’s own person a little of that misery, like the dust of labor? Is it possible to imagine a man near a brazier who is not warm? Can one imagine a workman who is working near a furnace, and who has neither a singed hair, nor blackened nails, nor a drop of sweat, nor a speck of ashes on his face? The first proof of charity in the priest, in the bishop especially, is poverty. This is, no doubt, what the Bishop of D—— thought.

I think strictly top subaru in any of his ships dynamic is my landmine
he's a switch AT MOST
those who says subaru is a top in any of his bl ships most likely never read the novel or web novel (-"-;)
(Heck, his dynamic with emilia and rem also feels like switch dynamics (emisubaemi and remsubarem))

Chioke Dmachi: “that sounds like a restaurant in New York !”
What If ? Dining at Chioke DMachi in New York It all started with Jay Leno’s offhand comment: “Chioke DMachi—sounds like a restaurant in New York.” Little did I know, it would spark a dream so vivid I just had to make it happen. Fast forward to me, a young traveler with a penchant for adventure, stepping through the grand, gold-accented doors of Chioke DMachi, the ultra-exclusive dining…
