Alastor has always been attentive to his words. He knew that accidentally thrown words could play a cruel joke and used it himself. Even with you, he was always attentive to what he said, albeit for a slightly different reason. However, Alastor did not expect you to listen so attentively to what he was saying

During one of your conversations, you told him that you had found a spice shop just like in New Orleans. Your words surprised him, but you said that Alastor himself said that he would like to find good spices that would be just like those used by his mother. It took Alastor a couple of seconds to realize what you were talking about

He mentioned it literally only once and managed to forget it himself. It was just thinking out loud, but you remembered it and found the right place on purpose. Alastor did not expect this, but he would be lying if he said that such attention did not flatter him

Alastor was pleased to know that you were so attentive to him. He didn't talk about it openly, but he liked it. The attention you gave him warmed him up, even though he would never tell you about it, at least not now

Husk was a bartender and one of his unspoken duties was to listen to the bar patrons. However, he also had someone who listened to him, although he did not always notice it. It was you. You often sat at the bar while he was working and listened to him grumble. You didn't drink alcohol and didn't tell him about all your problems. You were just there so he wouldn't get bored while he was working

When he was about to go back to his room late at night, you stopped him and handed him some playing cards. Husk looked at you in surprise, and then recognized in these playing cards the ones that were missing from him. You smiled gently and said that Niffty gave you these cards. Husk took the cards, realizing that he really told you a few days ago about the lost playing cards

A few days ago, he told you that a couple of his old playing cards were missing and he had no idea where they were. He didn't think to look for them, because he had other decks of cards, but you remembered that he told you about it and even returned the loss to him

Husk thanked you. His face didn't show much emotion, but he was really grateful to you. Not so much for returning the loss to him, but for being attentive to him. He listened to others, and you listened to him and it was nice to realize

🐍Sir Pentious x Reader 🎩

Sir Pentious talked a lot. He didn't always notice it, but he really liked talking. Often it could just be thinking out loud, but he was always listened to, even when he didn't know about it. You listened to him. You spent a lot of time with Sir Pentious and it didn't bother you at all. Sometimes it seemed that you were not listening to him, but Sir Pentious was not offended, he often could not notice this at all during his work

Sir Pentious didn't always remember what he said, but you remembered his words well. That's why when you came back to the hotel from the city, you brought some parts for his airship. You brought him a box of spare parts with a smile on your lips, causing surprise on his face. When he asked you what it was, you said it was the parts he was talking about

He remembered saying he needed new details, but he didn't think you'd remember that. It was a fleetingly spoken phrase that he said while he was thinking what he needed to buy, but he couldn't even think that you would go and buy these parts for him. Sir Pentious had no idea that you were listening to him so attentively

Sir Pentious wanted to do something for you, too, so he listened carefully to what you told him. You made him happier and he wanted you to know how much he loves you

🦉 Stolas x Reader 🎩

From the very beginning of your relationship, Stolas tried to be open. It was a relationship in which he was not afraid to show his feelings and tell about his thoughts and desires. He was glad that you accepted him for who he is. Sometimes he thought about what he would like to do with you. Simple, sweet, romantic dates were not something he could go on before, so it seemed very interesting to him

Due to business, he was forced to leave for almost the whole day and returned only in the evening. But there was a surprise waiting for him at home. You've prepared a romantic dinner for the two of you. When he asked what was the reason for this, you said that he said that he would like a romantic dinner, but because he was very busy, you decided that instead of taking him to a restaurant, you could arrange a romantic dinner right at home

Stolas hugged you tightly and then said that you were beautiful. He was really grateful to you for listening to him, despite the fact that he talked about a romantic dinner more fleetingly than actually planning something like that. But you gave him such a wonderful surprise, which he could not have dreamed of before

You spent a wonderful evening together and Stolas hoped that this would not be the last surprise that you arranged for him. Stolas felt loved by your side. He was glad that you appeared in his life. It was a real gift for him

🐓 Asmodeus x Reader 💕

Ozzie didn't always tell you what was on his mind. He knew that you were always there to listen to him, but he didn't want to burden you with his problems. He usually shared only good things or something neutral with you, but sometimes he didn't notice how he could say anything, but you were always attentive to what he was saying even if he didn't notice it

Asmodeus had a hard day. He had been traveling most of the day on various work-related business, and now he was back at the factory, where he had a mountain of paperwork waiting for him, which he hated, but had to do. When he came to the office, he saw an unexpected picture. You were sitting in his office, having almost finished sorting out the documents. When he asked what you were doing, you told him that you decided to help him a little and sort out the documents for him so that he wouldn't have to waste time on it

Asmodeus remembered that a few days ago he casually mentioned to you that he would have a busy day, and forgot, distracted by some little thing. But you didn't forget what he said and decided to help him by spending your time and effort to reduce the amount of his work

He picked you up and said he was grateful to you, even though you weren't obligated to do his work for him. It was nice and now you could spend more time together, but he didn't want you to strain yourself with someone else's work. Even if you did it for good reasons

🎪 Fizzarolli x Reader 💟

Fizzarolli had a lot of things that he shared with you. He told you about how his training sessions and performances went, about what interesting things he learned. You were always happy to listen to him, but sometimes Fizz forgot the words he said fleetingly. So he forgot that he told you that his rehearsal would end late

When he left the building, he was surprised to see your car and you waiting. You smiled when you saw him and waved. When he came up to you, he asked what you were doing there, and Fizzarolli was genuinely surprised when you said that you decided to meet him. He was surprised that you remembered what he told you and that you decided to meet him, but it was very nice to know that you were so worried about him

While you were driving home, he talked about how his rehearsal went and you listened to him again. Now Fizz noticed it. You were attentive to what he said and more. You've been attentive and caring towards him for a long time, but now he realized that it wasn't recently. You always took care of him and it warmed his heart

He tried to be as caring as you are. You were always attentive and Fizzarolli wanted to repay you in kind, because you really did a lot for him, treating him as a person, and not as a popular clown, for which he was sincerely grateful to you

Look, I like reading Stolago fanfics and all that, but I'd be lying if I said that Stolago shippers don't come out with some of the worst takes I've ever seen in regards to Stolitz, so allow me to weigh in my opinion on this.

Short Answer: Stolago would not work in canon.

Long Answer:

Point 1: The 'is Stolago an incest ship' debate.

We don't know. It's implied that Paimon has given birth to a lot of children and can change animal forms, making it very possible that Stolago is an incest ship, but at the same time, that doesn't automatically mean that Vassago is biologically related to Stolas, so I can't make a judgement on this point until we know more about Vassago's character.

Point 2: But Stolas went with the BTB guy!

Pay close attention to Stolas and Blitz after the BTB guy asks Stolas to dance with him, notice how Stolas was basically silently asking Blitz for permission to dance with the BTB guy, and Blitz also silently gives permission for Stolas to dance with the BTB guy. So it's not like Stolas just went 'oh cool this guy wants me, fuck you Blitz I'm fucking dancing', and that silent act of asking for permission proves my point.

Also, Stolas was very drunk during this section, and we know people who are drunk don't tend to think very clearly, so I really cannot blame Stolas for having that dance with the BTB guy, especially when we factor in the cocktail of everything being emotionally heavy for Stolas, and Stolas generally feeling alone and isolated during most of the party.

Plus, Stolas has no history with the BTB guy at all, so even if it does turn into a one night stand for Stolas, there's not gonna be much emotional connection between them. One of the main reasons Stolas fell for Blitz like he did is because of their shared history, all those years ago at the circus.

What was the point of me mentioning all of this exactly? The point is that Stolas and Vassago also have no shared history with each other to what we know, plus, Stolas quite literally says in s2 e1 "my first ever friend!". Plus, it expresses my dislike of the 'Vassago could be a rebound for Stolas' that I've seen float around a few times.

Point 3: Stolas has moved on/will move on from Blitz.

Ah yes, this Stolas?

The same Stolas that silently asked Blitz for permission to go dance with the BTB guy?

"would be an indicator I didn't want to talk right now."

"Seeing you right now is hard!"

Notice the phrase of "right now" that's used twice?

Stolas at no point said he never wanted to talk to Blitz again, only that he wasn't comfortable with doing so right now, because the emotions associated with that night are still very heavy and hard to process for Stolas.

This fact is further backed up by the fact that Stolas never blocked Blitz's phone number.

Point 4: "Blitz is just an asshole who feels no remorse for the things he's done to others."

I could dive deep into Blitz's character to disprove this point, but I'll let the examples do the talking for me.

Moxxie: Do you remember what you said to me after my first day with the company?

Blitzo: ...Not really.

Moxxie: I remember. You told me I did a good job and that you were proud to work with me. I feel like you wanted to say something more judgmental, but... you said that because I needed it... And it helped.

Blitzo: Look, I'm hard on you, because I know what you're capable of, Mox. You care too much about what everyone thinks except for... me, because, y'know, my opinion is correct, but just... keep doing a good job. 'Kay? You shoot 'n kill good, you escape things easy... you can be strategic and cold-blooded when you need to, aaaand don't expect any more compliments; I'm maxed out.

Moxxie: Thank you, sir.

Blitzo: You know my name... Use it.

Moxxie: Thanks, Blitzo.

Point 5: "Blitz will just move on eventually."

Do you all seriously think that Blitz saying "your boring as fuck monogamy" wasn't foreshadowing Stolitz happening?

The Blitz that's angry that the BTB guy is 'stealing' Stolas?

The Blitz that admits the only person he actually wanted to sorry to was Stolas?

The Blitz that lets Stolas dance with the BTB guy without causing much of a scene, despite how much it hurt him to do so?

Plus, not to mention all the times in the past where it's been shown that Blitz cares for Stolas, including his wellbeing.

Point 6: "Stolitz has no chemistry"

I'm not even gonna bother covering this point, you clearly haven't been paying any attention to the show at all if you unironically think that Stolitz has no chemistry.

Finally, I'd like to briefly talk about how Stolago being canon would undermine the plot of helluva boss by quite a bit.

Stolitz is one of the key relationships in the show, and the show revolves around Blitz, including his relationships, so naturally Stolitz is one of the key things for Blitz's character growth, so ending Stolitz for Stolago permanently would stunt Blitz's character growth quite significantly, undermining the plot of the show as a result.

Not to mention it'd also undermine Stolas' character growth as well, considering one of the main things that Stolas needs to work on is the classism, and rebounding to another prince won't help with Stolas unlearning his biases and such, overall making Stolago a rather bad idea for the plot as well.

Plus, even if Stolago was to become canon, it most likely isn't lasting more than an episode anyways, because this scene in the trailer could imply to us that Stolitz is getting a new beginning.

Another thing is that we know nothing about Vassago at the moment, and the things we can imply about him in regards to his title of prince points more to Vassago being a support figure/friend for Stolas (something Stolas badly needs atm) rather than a rebound for Stolas.

I will repeat, I enjoy Stolago in fanfiction and such, but can you all at least admit it's a bad idea in canon and to stop hating on Blitz so much and accept both Stolas and Blitz for the fact that they're both lovable and flawed characters please?

This is a sort of response to a post I've seen floating around, drawing parallels between the chains in Blitz’s trip that bind him to Stolas and the chains that bind Husk, Angel, and Fizz to Alastor, Valentino, and Mammon respectively. I'm not commenting on that post directly bc I avoid Discourse (tm) at all costs for the sake of my health, and I don’t want to get drawn into an unproductive argument that will mess with my anxiety for a week. I'm not trying to start a fight, just get my thoughts out on why I feel that comparison is inaccurate, and hopefully provide some helpful context and nuance.

So! Let's start with a few disclaimers! First of all, I'm not going to debate the moral purity of any of these characters. I just don't think it's an interesting or valuable critique. On a related note, I am not trying to excuse any of their behavior. I'm happy to admit that my favorite characters in this show have hurt people and are sometimes total assholes. Stolas treated Blitz very poorly at the beginning of their relationship, frequently pushed or even ignored boundaries, and was just kind of a dick about things. My objection to a direct comparison between Stolas and the other characters mentioned above isn't because I think Stolas hasn't done anything wrong; I just think that saying they're similar without further clarification or commentary ignores the nuance of the situation.

Read on below the cut, it's gonna be another long one folks!

Let's start by examining the "agreements" forged by Val, Mammon, and Alastor. I think it's important to note that, in their cases, the person they got to sign their contract could have been anyone. Husk and Angel could have been any sinners, Fizz could have been any imp. They aren't interested in them as people; they were only using them to gain more power for themselves. The only thing that matters to them is, "What can you do for me?" Angel and Fizz quite clearly become cogs in the machine of Val and Mammon's businesses, and Alastor only thinks of Husk as a tool to be leveraged in specific situations to further his own mysterious goals. Each of them has demonstrated to their subjugates that they own them, body and soul. They have signed legally and spiritually binding contracts that essentially surrender their autonomy to a more powerful demon.

Stolas and Blitz’s agreement is... not that. In the most literal sense, they don’t appear to have made any sort of binding deal. They just made a verbal agreement, which I sincerely doubt has anywhere near the force of a signed soul contract. Additionally, Stolas did not ask for and does not seem to want that sort of total control over Blitz. He very clearly does not view this as any sort of power exchange (which may actually be part of the issue, since it leaves him blind to Blitz’s discomfort with their class difference), he sees it as "favors for favors." While this agreement is inherently unbalanced due to Stolas's status, it's worth noting that they’re both putting something on the line here. The other three risk practically nothing (if the person bound to them fails they can always get a new one), but Stolas IS taking on a real risk by letting Blitz access the living world illegally using his book. Again, that doesn't make his actions right, and probably helped him to justify them, but it does set their relationship apart from the others.

In my opinion, some of Stolas's greatest flaws are his thoughtlessness and his ability to justify his own actions to himself. This manifests in the fact that he clearly doesn't see the ways in which their relationship is hurting Blitz. He convinced himself that this was just an equal exchange, and a continuation of the dynamic Blitz established in their first encounter as adults: "I fuck you, and you give me the book". As he becomes more aware of his feelings for Blitz, though (stay tuned for a deeper analysis of this progression later), he also begins to realize that Blitz isn't happy with this relationship. And this, as @masonshmason pointed out, is the central fact that separates Stolas and Blitz from the other relationships. Stolas did not realize- or chose to ignore- how he was hurting Blitz. Once he came to terms with it, though, he understood that he had to make things right. He specifically says this in "Just Look My Way"; "I will try to make amends/ For making you means to an end". None of the others could say this, because in their case, that was the POINT. Angel, Fizz, and Husk were ALWAYS a means to an end, intentionally trapped for that purpose.

We also need to talk about the CONTEXT of the scenes in which the chain imagery appears. For both Angel and Husk, the chain is at least semi-literal, a physical (and perhaps supernatural) manifestation of the way their souls are bound to an overlord. In "Two Minutes Notice," Fizz purposely CHOOSES to represent his relationship to Mammon as chains around his wrists. However, Blitz's scene is part of a drug trip after being forcibly dosed with hallucinogens. It does not exist in any literal sense, nor is it a representation of Blitz’s conscious, literal thoughts. What it DOES do is showcase Blitz’s deepest fears and his greatest flaws through symbolism and metaphor. Blitz is not literally afraid of being forced to wear a clown costume; he is afraid he'll never escape his past traumas or Fizz's shadow. THIS is the context in which Blitz sees himself being chained by Stolas: a bad trip all about his fear of intimacy and vulnerability.

Stolas appears in this trip as someone elevated high above him, something he's climbing towards, reaching for, even though it means being chained to him. It's directly preceded by his ex girlfriend and his former best friend berating him for how he pushes people away even though he hates being alone. Then Stolas directly asks him, "Are you afraid to love people, Blitzy?" Furthermore, the WAY in which he is framed is alluring, slightly hazy, golden and tempting. It couldn’t be further from the ugly, slime-covered past he's fleeing. It's a new start, a chance for something better that seems too good to be true. This trip is all about Blitz’s inability to be vulnerable with another person. The chain around his neck is a representation of the fact that, by getting closer to Stolas, he's giving Stolas the power to hurt him emotionally.

And man, there's a part of him that wants to give Stolas that power. At this critical moment, he's not baring his teeth in defiance or anger. He's blushing, just slightly, and he looks... nervous. Blitz's instinct, when things get too real, is to cut and run. Hurt them before they can hurt you. Abandon them before they have the chance to leave you. It’s how he tanked his relationship with Verosika. This is a manifestation of what might happen if he stays. This is the sort of trouble he can't fight his way out of.

This is the emotional climax of the scene. There are so many ways they could have gone with this if they wanted to represent Blitz being chained and trapped by his agreement with Stolas. If that was the fear--if that was the POINT--they could have had the chains wrap around him until he couldn't move, or glow white hot and burn into his skin, or a million other more direct metaphors. But the chains aren't the thing that hurts him. It's the feathers: the thing that's left behind after Stolas abandons him, sing-songing "you're going to die alone" right alongside two other people who he loved and who now want nothing to do with him.

Finally, let's look at Blitz’s reaction to this scene. It's a moment of revelation for him, in which he realizes he's pushing everyone away and starts to make an effort to change. It's why he's a bit more open with Moxxie in the next scene. The trip sequence ALSO inspires him to get closer to Stolas, indicating that the trip didn’t make him realize "I'm trapped and I need to get out of this" in the same way Fizz did. Rather, he realizes that he doesn't want Stolas to leave him like everyone else, and he wants to start feeling out what it would be like to deepen the connection between them. As I've mentioned in other posts, their kiss at the end of "truth seekers" represents a level of intimacy that we haven't seen before; it's teasing, affectionate, shows Blitz’s interest in making Stolas happy, and takes place in front of M&M, who have repeatedly teased him about their relationship before.

In summary, while the image of chains may have been invoked in all four of these relationships, they don’t necessarily mean the same thing across the board. Blitz and Stolas's relationship differs substantially from the others in its dynamic, and the context of their scene also sets it apart. It's important to look into the details and the nuance of their relationship to interpret what's going on under layers of trauma and unreliable narration.

Let me get on my soap box

I’m so tired of this narrative that people seem to have nowadays where it’s a problem if you love a flawed character. That’s what makes them interesting! And what person do you know that doesn’t have flaws!

Specifically tired of this anti Stolas discourse. Did he technically cheat on his wife? Sure. But being forced into a heterosexual marriage when he is clearly gay and being abused verbally and physically by his wife pushed him to his limit. Stolas went his entire life without someone to love romantically and all he had were his books. Books that were romantic and sultry and definitely influenced his reaction to seeing Blitzø again. Blitzø awoke a side to him that had been suppressed his entire life and perhaps he acted rashly but who wouldn’t after 35+ years?

I’ve also seen people say he’s not a good father. Literally where? Ask anyone who doesn’t have a good relationship with their dad, I would love to have the relationship that Stolas and Octavia have. He sheltered her from the abuse that Stella gave him. He was attentive and caring and loved her unconditionally. Just because he finally stood up for himself and decided to get divorced from his abuser doesn’t make him a bad father.

Then there’s the discourse about him having a deal with Blitzø every month. Could he have gone about this a better way? Sure. But think about what he’s been through! He doesn’t know how to be close to anyone romantically. His own parents didn’t teach him, no one was there to guide him. Also remember in the first episode how Stolas proposed the meet ups Blitzø replied with very little acknowledgement. He could have denied it and you can bet Stolas would have still let him use the Grimoire because he’s desperate for connection. Remember that Blitzø had been using it for some time before the proposition was even made. Stolas just didn’t know how to go about getting closer to Blitzø and that was the only way he thought he could make it happen. Yes, technically there is a power imbalance between them but it’s so clear that Stolas doesn’t see it that way. And obviously Blitzø has some feelings that there is that imbalance but that’s why they need to sit down and talk and realize they both feel the same way about one another.

It’s okay that characters are flawed and complicated. That’s what makes them interesting and relatable. Feeling like everyone should only like the “moral” and uncorrupted characters is outrageous and unrealistic and just plain boring.

Whose not saying it's already fanfiction? Hazbin Hotel features VivziePop wanting to spread her "love" and "admiration" for sinners to be redeemed, while also being a burden to her own show. And managing to get a BEATBOXER TO SPEND 50K on her ass.

Try and convince me Hide Away isn't the main reason why most of these idiots actually got into Hazbin? On Stolitz, Desire and Misunderstandings

I’ve thought about them so much for the past few days that I just have to put my thoughts somewhere. This might be far from structured/coherent but contains everything that has been running around in my brain lately. Feel free to interact with me about this because they’re driving me insane (in a positive way).

Quick disclaimer: I’ve watched everything in nearly one sitting a few days ago and am new to the fandom, so I might be unaware of commonly known info or things the creators have said or confirmed. If you come across any of my questions that have been answered already, please forgive me for not knowing and feel free to enlighten me! Let’s begin~

 The main thing that got me thinking about this so much is Blitz’s line in ep 7 when he brings Stolas home after their failed date: “Don’t act like what we have is anything but you wanting me to fuck you, okay? You make that really clear, all the time.”

But the thing is, he is wrong. We as the viewer know this, how Stolas chokes on his food when he sees that Blitzy calls, how he lunges to pick up the phone and how his eyes turn into little hearts when he hears the question. If anything, Stolas is smitten with Blitz.

He even calls Gabriella a “mood” when she asks Alejandro why he won’t love her. It’s indisputable that he’s thinking about Blitz here.

And how much he actually likes Blitz becomes even more clear to us at the start of season 2, when they’re kids. Stolas falls in love at first sight and blushes several times.

And then, 25 years later, he is delighted to meet Blitz again. After the initial (joking?) assumption that Blitz has come here to “ravish him”, he tries to make gentle conversation and asks him how he’s been. Blitz is the one who decides to initiate sexual relations—that is, he pretends to start it, and decides to keep it up when he hears Stolas chirp about how happy he is that it’s his “first ever friend” who wants to do him. But Stolas, before this, was surprised by Blitz’s advances and unsure how to react. Stolas, if anything, has to believe that Blitz is very sexually attracted to him.

That is why Blitz’s line in episode 7 fascinates me this much; one would think the reverse of what he says is true. Stolas has no reason whatsoever to believe that Blitz ever wanted more from him than sex/the grimoire, especially with how their relations began. So it strikes me that apparently, to Blitz, it hurts him to think that Stolas wants nothing else from him. He even begins to cry there in the van as he begins to reject the prince.

See the tears in his eyes? Why is that? Is he embarrassed? Angry? Does he feel guilty for putting Stolas in a “disgraceful” picture? Is he thinking about entirely different things that happened to him in the past?

And Stolas cries when Blitz is gone, because, well, he does think of Blitz as more than a sex friend. He was so excited to be asked out by him, he made himself look pretty, tried his best to make conversation with him, thought Blitz was actually taking him on their first date ever! He thought Blitz had called him out because he wanted to spend time with him, so he did his best to make the date a success, but all he received from Blitz was, well, nothing… He even tried to end the night on a more positive note by asking Blitz to come inside for something other than sex, perhaps to drink some wine and talk about what happened (or watch a movie, or cuddle 🥺). But when he hears that his sentiment of just wanting to spend time together has never come across—not now, not ever before—and Blitz actually believes Stolas just wants to frolic, that’s when Stolas leaves it for what it is and ends up crying.

And he spends a LONG time trying to show Blitz, via his texts, that sex is not the only thing that he’s after.

But he only gets one-word responses from Blitz. Nothing, literally nothing to keep going on. It’s no wonder he loses faith in that whatever they had could ever be anything more. And Blitz probably has commitment issues or is afraid of things not working out and he ends up keeping Stolas at a distance—until it’s too late.

And it just kills me that he does care about Stolas but somehow won’t admit it, won’t show it. And yet he sounds so hurt there in that van, when he accuses Stolas of merely wanting to be his sex friend. And he actually cries. For that reason, and for many other reasons not all clearly laid out for us.

Meanwhile Stolas has been crushing on him for 25 years. It’s only natural for him to propose the deal they made: he wants Blitz to be close to him (and he assumes Blitz enjoyed sex with him that first time, since he slept there for the entire night while at first only claiming he could do it “real fast”) and Blitz wants his grimoire. This is the perfect way for Stolas to get Blitz to be with him, because, frankly, he doesn’t have many other reasons to meet up with him. So they make this deal: Stolas gets to be together with him for once a month, and Blitz gets the grimoire. Perfect right?

Except when Stolas discovers that Blitz doesn’t even begin to know how much Stolas actually cares. That’s why he keeps sending those long texts, he tries so hard to let Blitz know they could be doing anything else and he’d love that too. That night after the date he already begins with those attempts, by telling him he enjoyed spending time with Blitz and suggesting things to do inside which Blitz misunderstands for him trying to get him into his bed.

But damn, if that was all Stolas was after, he wouldn’t get so depressed that he’d drink until passing out. He is heartbroken. And somehow, for some reason, so is Blitz. The first thing he does when he gets home is opening his phone to a selfie he took of them while Stolas was asleep.

And others have pointed this out as well, but Stolas doesn’t know about this picture and that Blitz smiled while he took it. On all the pictures Stolas has of Blitz, Blitz looks like he’s not enjoying himself at all.

So what must he think when he sends Blitz his reply that he could be in the hospital for a while in case he wants to visit, and Blitz doesn’t answer?

Well, that Blitz doesn’t want to come. That he doesn’t care enough.

Indeed, if there’s anyone who hasn’t been showing his true feelings or intentions, it’s Blitz. Stolas compliments him, calls him darling and “his” Blitzy, makes himself pretty for their date, and (for instance in ep 2 of season 2) blushes big time multiple times.

He’s had it bad for Blitz for ages, but he (correctly? incorrectly?) concludes that this is not mutual. And he has every reason to think so! Blitz treats their sexy adventures as a business transaction, is all serious and stoic to Stolas about it except for the rare occasion where he does show how much he likes it, like after Stolas rescues him from the demon hunters and he grins and seduces Stolas before kissing him.

But the times when Blitz talks about them to others? Those are moments Stolas doesn’t know about and doesn’t get to see, like when Blitz talks to Striker and stutters like mad trying to explain what they are and aren’t. He never outright says that they’re not dating. He doesn’t even deny Millie’s words when she says they’re boyfriends.

It just drives me insane how Blitz isn’t honest with his feelings, especially towards Stolas. He probably chooses to believe that Stolas only wants to have sex with him, because that’s more convenient and safer for him, and enables him to keep Stolas at a distance.

Perhaps that is why he never properly responds to Stolas’s texts, never jumps to the opportunity to agree to Stolas’s indirectly asked questions or suggestions. Getting closer might be a bad idea somehow—but after those texts he has to understand what the prince’s intentions are, right? They just don’t talk about it at all; we also aren’t told whether they still do it or not, or just exchange the book like Stolas’s texts suggest. This is striking compared to season 1, where we got scenes of them in bed or talking about their next meet up.

It isn’t until Stolas’s life is in actual danger when Blitz begins to realise how much he cares.

“He can get hurt?” His eyes are trembling with disbelief. After that he finally sends Stolas a text first, and then begins typing again, and stops. I imagine he started typing a yes, but stops himself for some reason. I really hope they’ll show us what Blitz was thinking in that moment. Why would he not go to see Stolas? Because he feels guilty? Because he’s afraid he’ll start caring even more when he sees him wounded in that bed?

But again, for Stolas this just means that he doesn’t care, and the poor owl curls up and turns away from his phone.

I've observed that some HB fans with trauma feel so attached to the characters and the show that they defend every writing decision and take any criticism as a personal attack. I can understand relating to and feeling sympathy for a character because of personal experiences, but Helluva Boss is a terrible media for emotionally vulnerable teenagers and young adults to uncritically consume.

It just pisses me off that so many people will praise HB for representing abuse with Stolas and Stella, yet ignore the unhealthy relationship dynamics, abusive behaviors portrayed in a positive light and bad writing in general.

Real talk: Speaking as an emotional abuse survivor myself, it pisses me off to no end that Helluva Boss has failed to represent this subject with any sensitivity or subtlety.

It's important to remember that abusers are often charming and charismatic, and they exhibit positive traits (at least early on) that make the other person want to salvage the relationship.

What the hell are Stella's positive traits? In what little screentime she's had thus far, she's been elitist, rude, destructive, pouty, murderous, sadistic, and a little stupid (failing to consider that if Stolas died, Octavia would inherit all his wealth and leave her with nothing). While there's evidence to support the claim that she acted like she was in love early on in her marriage (she's smiling in the Loo Loo Land photo, sleeps in the same bed as Stolas in a flashback and has stated she used to pretend to want to fuck him), there's nothing to suggest her personality was ever anything but odious. Even when Stolas first sees her photo as a child, it portrays an awful little brat.

It's pretty clear Stolas has never had any reason to love her, so why does he stay?

He says it's because he wants Octavia to have "a normal life", aka a two-parent household. But how exactly does that benefit her when those parents are constantly fighting? You might think "Well, that's a lot of parents' excuse for not getting divorced, but that doesn't mean it's right", but the show never challenges his stance on this. There's never a moment when he realizes, "Oh shit, maybe my definition of 'normal' is actually hurting my daughter". He only declares he wants a divorce after his first tryst with Blitzo and on the balcony when he tells Stella he "can't do this anymore". He's doing it entirely for his benefit, not because it would improve Octavia's life.

(And because the writers blatantly favor Stolas and everything he says, I have to wonder if they actually believe the standard nuclear family represents a "normal"- implied in this case to be good and desirable - life by default, regardless of how miserable everyone in the family is. On the off-chance that is indeed the case, as someone who lost a parent at a young age: Fuck all the way off with that, show.)

Also, we're not lead to believe divorce was never an option at any point. If a royal in this world gets divorced, what are the consequences? Would Stolas lose his title? Would he be executed? The whole point of this marriage was to have a kid, so literally what was stopping them from splitting up after she was born (other than the bullshit "normal life" excuse)? Why can't Stolas just visit Octavia? Why does he have to live with her? Plenty of kids with divorced parents still get quality time with both of them. The solution was right there all along, but Stolas felt the need to wait until his daughter was seventeen to split with his wife? For some reason?? The writers try to pass it off as some noble sacrifice he's making, but in reality, he's just being a dumbass.

Okay, so maybe he's just afraid to leave, like many abused people are. I'll have to call bullshit on that, since he never even tried to keep his affair a secret. He's openly flirted with Blitzo in public (at Loo Loo Land and the Harvest Moon Festival, in front of dozens of witnesses) and met Blitzo at a couples-only nightclub, where they sat in plain view of everyone else there. Couldn't even bother using your powers to disguise yourself, bud? Or does that only work when it's convenient to the plot? If Stolas were the least bit threatened by Stella or what the Goetia family would think, he wouldn't be this bloody obvious. While it's possible this is a self-sabotage sort of thing, the show has never given us evidence that Stolas has those kinds of tendencies.

In short, Stella's a hamfisted, stereotypical portrayal of an abuser, and Stolas just doesn't come off like the abuse affects him at all (or at least not until the episode where it needs to for plot reasons). Obviously not all abusers or abuse survivors in real life will fit into the same mold, but there's straight-up zero logic to these characters' behavior. I've mentioned this very astute video before, but here's one quote that perfectly sums up how poorly this show handles character motivations:

There's a... character consistency issue that results from having these characters exist only to dispense abuse. Their actions stop adding up... [Stella's] thing is that she wants to be away from Stolas... Why does she repeatedly show up to the house just when Stolas is around to torment him? This behavior is quite strange. She does not like him. She does not want to be around him... We're to assume that Stella wants to feel mad, wants to feel bad, and that's what she wants to do with her life.

This isn't how real people act. And of course fictional characters aren't real people and any sense of agency they have is just an illusion at the end of the day. But ideally they should feel real to the audience.

I now fully understand why I was leery of these writers potentially exploring a character's addiction. It's because they've shown they can't be trusted to give serious subject matter the care and weight it deserves.

imo i think blitzo is slowly getting character development and i think ppl dont get that fire he caused not only set his crush on fire on accident and he blew up leaving him with scars but also his ther died in that fire and he blames himself for her death and his sister hates him probably for that reason so he also feels guilt for that and his dad idk where he is now but he also hates him too so blitzo being an ass all the time is him just hating himself and thats understandable

So Helluva Boss Episode 8 thoughts

It was fine, honestly a breath of fresh air when compared to how outright terrible some of season 2’s episodes have been, but just basic and bland. It was nice seeing Loona actually get focus without Blitzo having to be there from the start, as someone who also has party anxiety I can really relate, but eh I really don’t understand what the point of the later half was story-wise. It’s not like she treats her dad any better after this episode, if anything she’s worse to him than we ever saw her in Seeing Stars. But whatever it’s own thing separated from season 2 the ending was cute, even if seeing Blitzo mope around for being a shitty person or Stolas being terrible is getting tiring. Speaking of yeah they really just didn’t acknowledge Ozzie’s outside of a blink and you miss it text message so that’s fun, now I hope the people who were saying “stop complaining we have an episode missing!” realize Viv was telling the truth when she said it had literally nothing to do with the main plot of the show. Also animation this episode felt especially rough in some areas in the beginning, the lineart thickness looked really inconsistent and almost like a map project at times. But I think it got better as the episode went on.

Bee I’m conflicted on, she’s just another one of the classic furrybait designs Viv liked to use in zoophobia and really underwhelming design for Beelzubub, seriously you could be so creative with it but instead for some reason they went with JayJay 2.0., literally you would never guess she’s suppose to be the ruler of Gluttony without the show outright telling you 🙄 but I did really like the animation they did on her tail and hair and the song had some nice visuals. It just doesn’t go at all with the rest of the design, not sure why they made her look part hellhound or even have THE Beelzubub to be the one dating Tex (seriously why is Blitzo dating Stolas a big deal then if all these supposed ringleaders who are HIGHER IN STATUS THAN HIM can just date whoever they want?) Chances are we never see her again or they replace her voice actor like they did with Striker. The dialogue they did for her was just as terrible and unfunny as always, and while I think Kesha overall was good for not being a voice actor yeah you could tell some of the lines were delivered really awkwardly. But I still commend her and the fact that they didn’t pull a Verosika and make her just the bitchy girl dating Loona’s crush your suppose to hate. Really hope they don’t go back on that and ruin her so they break up. Tex just felt kinda bland to me this episode anyways, he was cool in episode 3 but here he’s just kinda the friend/boyfriend who stands around. It’s be great if we got to see him and Loona bond more as just friends later on but who knows.

So yeah not godawful but not good. Just kind of a fine filler episode with the shows usual ups and downs. Kinda just glad it’s out now and it can’t be used as a gotcha for all of season 2’s inconsistencies lol

for the ship bingo thing: stolas/blitz

oh man the ultimate question of all, I wanted to save this one for last to give my full thoughts on this ship

Warning: I have a VERY unpopular opinion with this ship that you guys may not like to hear. So I suggest scroll and ignore this if your a St*litz shipper. You have been warned.

So once upon a time, I had used to be a fan of this ship at one point… Well I didn’t ship them hardcore, I shipped them as a dumb crack ship at first when they treated them more like a gag. But when the Ozzie’s episode came along, I think you can say this is when I was liking the idea of them together.

Now granted, it’s one of those toxic relationships that intrigue you due to how awful both characters are. (Much like Chucky and Tiffany from child’s play) And I like the idea of two messy people starting out as friends with benefits but slowly come to terms to want to do something serious and to try and their their shit together.

That was until the Circus episode came along…. THE FUCKING CIRCUS EPISODE 🙃🙃🙃🙃

They literally retconned things, did the childhood lovers cliche, and just woobified Stolas as a OwO baby boi who can do no wrong…. That whole episode frustrated me so much… we didn’t even get to see Stella’s pov than being a very bland kke note bitch (btw that is NOT how narcasstics work) and I was hoping he and Stella were equally messy to another like Clay and Bloberta from Moral Orel or Jessie’s parents form Big Mouth.

Dude Paimon wanting to buy Blitzo as a playmate for his son was so gross… that’s like when white aristocratic a buy child slaves as a playmate for their white children. Does Viv not realize how unitionally racist that is???? Since Stolas is white coded and Blitzo is POC coded???? This is why racism allegory never works if you don’t research history books…

But even then, THESE TWO HAVE NOTHING IN COMMON BESIDES FUCKING!

Blitzo always found Stolas interest boring and Stolas literally sees blitzo as just as sex toy and nothing more! And they failed to address what happened with the Ozzie’s episode!

Also, I feel like shipping them both together soley because they’re both messy dads with angsty goth daughters feels kind of shallow…. Hell, I think that will make shit worse for Loona and Octavia. All that’s gonna do is make them fuck constantly while they dump Octavia on Loona. And as much as I don’t like Loona, she doesn’t deserve that.

I still think Loona and Octavia can be sisters WITHOUT hooking their dads up together. Best friends that are sisters by soul are a thing you know. I have close friends I consider my sisters without our parents hooking up.

But my hatred for this ship is mainly due to Octavia and how much of a neglectful asshole Stolas is to her… HE NEGLECTED HER TWICE BECAUSE BLITZO DADDY 🤪🤪🤪

Octavia is my favorite that I personally relate to because her situation REALLY hits close home or me as I have a dad like Stolas… I’m against this ship since I worry about her mental health.

I can go on and on but these are my thoughts about Stolas x Blitzo.

Now I will say, this ship is written so bad I’ve noticed some people that do ship them then complain about how they do NOT like how Viv is writing them in season 2. I can relate with that since I felt that way for Apriltello (tmnt 2012) and Haida x Restuko (Aggrestuko) since I used to be a fan of those ships but the way the writers dragged shit out too long and executed them killed mh joy for them… I don’t think it’s really fair and I think fans deserve more authentic chemistry for their ship.

To be a little bit fair to that duncandonut person, I don't think they're intending to be outright malicious. I saw a different post that they put in the crit tags linking to a video that called everybody who criticized the deaf imp kid scene a bunch of horrible ableists, which is pretty yikes on its own, but somebody in the replies pointed out to them that pretty much none of the kinds of people being discussed in that video were the people who use the tumblr crit tags. (In the video it was all people yelling dumb things like "Why are kids in hell" or "Why does deafness exist in hell", stuff from people who clearly hadn't watched the show.) Anywho, once it was pointed out to them that the people here's main issue with it was actually the fact of a child attending an overtly sexual adult event, they acknowledged that argument as valid and clarified in the tags that they only meant for the post to be addressed towards the ableist haters.

They are on the spectrum and say they have a lot of trouble with reading tone (I am also on the spectrum and have similar issues, so I can relate to some degree) so I think that might be part of the problem, here. The fact that Vivzie has drawn underage bestiality isn't the SOLE problem here, it's that the fandom AGGRESSIVELY shuts down any criticism of people who've engaged in similar content despite Viv having clearly done so as well. It's the hypocrisy of saying "Clearly your opinion means nothing because you did [insert thing Vivzie has also done here]!" Like, it's literally a non-argument because you're shooting yourself in the foot with your own blatant hypocrisy.

I can't stomach underage or bestiality ships, but I've engaged in other kinds of horrible ship content myself, like sexual/physical abuse ships, and I know that's stuff other people, people who might be into the stuff that I can't stomach, might not be able to stomach, either. Literally, it's not the fact that the content exists that's the problem, it is the HYPOCRISY in how people address it. (Although, in Viv's case, I do think there's an issue there in how she presents her "problematic" content, as we have seen with how she writes Stolitz and puts ANY blame of toxicity completely on Blitz even though Stolas is the way more toxic one, so I do have trouble making the same kind of excuses for her as I would for the people around here, since her real-life views seem very inserted into her creations, but what can ya do).

Hopefully I've explained this all in a way that somewhat makes sense. I guess my main point is that it seems more like the Duncandonut person was not considering things from any other point of view before making that post. It didn't seem outright malicious, mostly just rash and poorly thought out. (Although making "callouts" of that kind of nature, ESPECIALLY with something like an outright false underage fetish accusation, never seems particularly "well-intentioned", by any means.)

Yeah, I don't think they're malicious. I've met people in the Vivzie fandom who I'm reasonably sure would kill me if they thought they could get away with it, but they're not one of them.

I ship Loona and Octavia (Loovia?)

That being said, I don’t care if they end up canon or not. I’m not all that invested in this show tbh. I’m only here because Barrett Wilbert Weed is so !!!!! And it baffles me how fucking dumb the fandom is about this ship because they think it gets in the way of their OTP. Last I checked, compared to its literal parent ship, Loovia is the more healthier of the two. Isn’t that what antis want? Healthy shit? In Hell?

The fandom is against this ship for several very stupid reasons:

No one can agree on Loona’s age (Some say 18 but Viv said in a stream she’s 22?) and Via has been stated to be 17. There could be some age gap there, from as small as 1 year to as big as 5, so it’s “grooming” because they met when Octavia is a minor, and “pedophilia” either way.

Solution: they just won’t date until Octy is 18??

First of all, simply meeting someone when they're underage does not make it “grooming.” Second, pedophilia is the specific attraction to PREPUBESCENTS. We’ve seen Via as a child. Third, and most importantly, all children are minors but not all minors are children. If we just jumped from Child to Adult, what’s this “Teenager” thing? Stop exaggerating, it’s not that bad. And last, 5 years is nothing between adults. I’m not surprised it’s mostly minors squawking about how even a 2-year gap between adults is “pedophilia.”

For it to be incest, they’d have to be blood-related, like Stolas and Via, and they can’t be. Even without knowing Loona’s adopted, there’s no fucking way Blitz could be her biological dad, not even if they breed like Pokémon and the baby will always be the same species as the mother. (and if that’s the case, why does Octy take so much after Stolas?)

For it to be pseudo-incest they’d have to at least consider each other family and at best they’re just friends right now. Also to make this claim, you’re also ignoring one very crucial piece of information: Blitz and Stolas are not married. And ON THE TOPIC OF STOLITZ

Stolitz is ENDGAME!

Stolas and Blitz started their adult relationship as AN AFFAIR. They were USING each other, Blitz for the Goetia Grimoire, and Stolas for basically everything else since he sure as fuck wasn’t attracted to Stella. Sex, love, happiness, everything he lacked with Stella, he sought for in Blitz. If you ship this, you’re saying adultery is fine with you, right? It doesn’t take you out of the story for it to exist. Sure, Stolas is divorcing Stella now, but that doesn’t change the fact that when his and Blitz’s relationship began, Stolas was still married to Stella, and Blitz was trying to rob him. There’s Good Cheating and Bad Cheating, I guess, but it’s still Cheating.

Meanwhile, Loona and Octavia have a genuinely heartwarming meeting. They’re two lonely souls bonding over shared parental issues and looking out for one another. It’s legitimately healthy, and a great foot to start off on in terms of a budding relationship, whatever they end up having. They weren’t trying to get away from their sad childhoods, or using each other for anything, unlike their fathers. Loona showed a soft side to her we've not seen as far as I know (I’ve only seen like 4 episodes lol), and Octavia found someone she can both confide in and relate to who’s as directly involved in the daddy drama as she is (that is to say, not very). And people are against that? Are y’all okay?

Again, the main ship in this show is between two males which started off as adultery from one partner, and intent to commit burglary from the other. God forbid women have anything.

In case you forgot, this show is set in HELL. It’s an ANIMATED SHOW set IN HELL. A fictional representation of Hell since we literally can never know what it actually is like and live to tell the tale. Sinning is the name of the fucking game.

For all y’all are trying to purify Hell, how can you hate one of the more wholesome relationships? This show clearly stated it’s for mature audiences, why are there so many goddamn brat kids here?

Favorite tropes to apply to Stolitz that you don’t see a ton?

Got kinda long so under cut.

-I feel like hypnosis is very specific (and does kinda fit Striker more) but underrated. Both in the trust inherent if it's willing kinky play and possibly as an obstacle- one of them is hypnotized/brainwashed and the other has to break them out of it. (Now I'm thinking of big Stella specifically having Striker do it to one of them to try and break them up, and Blitzo hurts Stolas, or Stolas takes the book back and Blitzo has to confront his feelings in the process of getting it back. I remember seeing a comic about the first option, parts 1, 2, 3 here, death cw.)

-I would say sickfic, but I have seen a few. I can always use more though, I drink them down like oxygen. Something about the intersection of how the body reacts to illness/injury (particularly fevers or vomit) in a whump way and how the partner takes care of them is very 👌

-Monsterfucking. C'mon. Stolas has a giant-ass demon form. They can totally fuck like that. Don't tell me Blitzo wouldn't be into it.

-Okay, this might just be because I'm picky but... pilot dynamic, if that makes sense? It feels like a lot of stuff doesn't thread the line from there of 'Stolas as an entitled asshole' and 'Stolas as a decent dude who doesn't realize how he comes off' much, it leans much more on the second. Which is understandable with the characterization that the series proper has established, it's what I err on the side of in OT too since I want to stick to the canon as close as possible, but whenever I do want that and seek it out, it's often Stolas-bashing in favor of something else, not just exploring it for a bit.

I think ZaDr spoiled me because you got a really, really wide range of interpretations there- some were too only-fluffy for my tastes, but getting 'oh, these two would eviscerate each other and fuck the corpse afterwards' (and that was literal sometimes) all the way to 'they lovingly feed each other chocolate while gazing into each othe's eyes' and man, I kind of miss getting to have that range, y'know? I get why it was changed to make Stolas more sympathetic, but sometimes I want a trash fire that the author knows is a trash fire and is having fun with, not pointing at it to say the character is horrible for being a trash fire and it's romanticizing dropping babies in trash fires.

-Sort of relating to the above, general discomfort with the deal that Blitzo shoves himself past because he has to do this for the company, and his feelings aren't important over making sure Loona and M&M are taken care of. Dipped into this one a little with Favors for Favors, but that sort of dubcon-ish content is so delicious, especially if Stolas doesn't even realize he's feeling bad because he's so good at putting up walls.

So about Stolitz...

So I have been looking at the relationship on Blitzo and Stolas in Helluva Boss.... and I like to think it is a complex ship that could develop into a great one.

For starters, those who have seen the pilot can somewhat agree that Stolas was pretty creepy with that phone call- not exactly a good first impression (who cares- it’s hell). But upon further examination on Instagram and showings of episodes in progress, I have some things to mention.

Start with Stolas:

It is very clear that Stolas at least cares for the well being of Blitzo. Given, we don’t know of his relations and treatment to everyone else other than with his daughter and wife. But he seems to be in friendly terms with the IMP team and vise versa. He even buys them coffee. The guy can draw, garden, and is shown to be a very devoted father to Octavia (who shows typical teenager behavior- just as loving but also seeming embarrassed). On top of that he has dorky moments, but this could easily be due to loneliness or lack of social skills.  It explains why he didn’t have an Instagram account until his daughter convinced him to doing it- he likely has no friends (his wife’s status is yet to be determined). He barely gets along with some Overlords. He is morally grey on some situations- given he is a prince of hell (but Charlie is princess and she is her own case). He really could be just a lonely soul forced into an arranged marriage and didn’t have anyone to talk to- until he came upon Blitzo.

Now, onto Blitzo:

The guy has lots of issues going on with him, down to the point of obsessively intruding his coworkers’ personal lives and overspending their business fundings without thinking of the consequences. The guy’s only true hobby is stalking them or obsessing over his horse, or his business. Based on little background we have, it is implied that Blitzo and his sisters worked in a circus at some point and had a less than supportive dad. There was little to no mention of the mother being involved, so this creates a scenario where if the parents are not involved enough in a child’s life, then that child will look for that attention elsewhere. Hence, the circus. This certainly explains the over-the-top behavior he exhibits in trying to promote his business, even when it is slowing down. Furthermore, because he had little family involvement and memories, he tries to compensate that by comparing his business as his family - it’s all he most likely has, and will do whatever it takes to keep it running. Is it sane? Not at all- but it shows he cares at least about his employees, even if they treat him like garbage or a nuisance at times. He even lets Loona get away with inappropriate behavior and misconduct. So long as he gets the attention, he does not care.

This leads to him meeting Stolas. The guy has the money, a means to keep his business going, and links that could get him A LOT OF ATTENTION. Blitzo already demonstrated no sense of chain in command etiquette, so this probably got Stolas’ attention as he’s most likely treated like a prince all the time. It is unknown how their affair started, but perhaps they made a business deal (considering how little Stolas seems to care how Blitzo uses the grimoire other than getting caught). Literally, Stolas had no reason to give an imp a powerful family heirloom unless there was something in it for him - maybe he was doing it for the sake of the thrill and ease his boredom. He would get into potential trouble with the Royal Family regardless.

Maybe something happened to where Stolas kept getting sincere (if a bit blunt) treatment from Blitzo and Blitzo finally got attention from someone important. This developed a bond that became rocky - Blitzo got his business running, and Stolas has someone interested in talking to him as an equal. Over time, the more the business began to plummet, the more Blitzo went to schmooze Stolas for more investment. This may make Stolas think Blitzo became more interested in him as a person rather than as a business investor, and at some point their affair became more frequent. Soon enough, it gets to point Blitzo becomes uncomfortable at the sudden closeness they develop and tries to keep his distance, and Stolas tries to woo him back. It’s literally a game of tug-o-war: Blitzo goes to him for help but pulls back when he finishes business, and at that point Stolas keeps pursuing  someone who seems to care for him as a person and not as a royal. It’s possible that Blitzo may be aware that Stolas is falling for him, and is conflicted of his own feelings since he primarily went to Stolas to save a business he treasured more than anything else. Meanwhile, Stolas tries to keep that bond strong, even instigating more communication despite the imp’s cold shoulder.

It’s not uncommon that a person who wants love is hesitant to accept it - they’ve been hurt/deserted before, so it could happen again. In Blitzo’s mind, he didn’t plan to have an ongoing affair- it most likely just happened on a whim. He has no dating history (that we know of) and came from an emotionally strained childhood so he has no healthy means of knowing how to love properly. It’s even possible he only accepts Stolas’ advances out of guilt or obligation, but that doesn’t mean  he is not capable of learning to accept it and possibly returning it.

As for Stolas, he may be too obsessed having that one person finally seeming to understand him on an even level. This can be dangerous and sometimes delusional, as there is a reason why it’s called rose-tinted glasses or the grass-is-greener syndrome. He at least knows boundaries when they are needed, but lacks emotional and social intelligence. But same applies to Blitzo as well- they are being silly dorks.

We know very little of their lifestyles outside of work and business, but it seems they like to hang out together and even enjoy some of their get-togethers. It is also heavily implied that Blitzo does not like being bribed into sex for favors (which is sort of hypocritical, considering that’s what probably started the affair) and rather wants to have a relationship that isn’t too casual, but committed. Despite being married, Stolas seems to agree on this on the emotional concept. He wants to be committed to someone on  his own terms, not that out of obligation.

Their needs match each other almost very well. Blitzo wants love, Stolas is willing to give it. Blitzo wants attention, Stolas gives it (more than needed sometimes). Stolas wants honesty, Blitzo gives it. Stolas has real expectations, Blitzo can work on that. Stolas doesn’t like being lonely, Blitzo can relate.

So how would I rate this ship?

8/10.

I can see great potential in it now, but it depends how it flows from here on out. We haven’t really seen them in arguments besides Blitzo being caught so that’s another factor needed. There’s too little details on them still so we’ll need to wait to see what happens. 

Regardless, I stand by Vivzie’s decision 100%. This is her world and creation - I only implement my thoughts about it.
