the most underrated riverdale quote is "the best counterattack is not to fight fire with fire, but to fight fire with a fire department" it makes me giggle every time. so so so objectively true archie. he starts a literal fire department after saying this btw
#context is that hiram firebombs archie's house#but like. this is a small part of a bigger issue. it's not like hiram is only using fire to attack archie#so starting a fire department will achieve absolutely nothing in terms of defeating hiram he will just think of something else#this man has guns drug labs gangsters and seemingly grizzly bears at his disposal...you cant firefight your way out of a bear attack i fear#also just the phrasing of it makes me laugh. like starting a fire department is this crazy counterattack. girl no it's a fire department#literally the best show ever made i love you archie andrews#personal#riverdale

More Riverdale Recast Thoughts
soooo started debating recasting Aaliya and now here we are, any thoughts/feedback/opinions would be so so so appreciated I'm too overwhelmed by it rn
1 – Aaliya Andrews – currently Danielle Rose Russell, new options are Sadie Stanley or Olivia Cooke (or using Sadie Stanley for Anastasia Andrews and Abigail Cowen for Aaliya 👀) (leaning towards Abigail Cowen)
Aaliya Andrews loved her brother more than anything, and she would do anything for him; even keep her summer a secret. Archie didn’t need to know that she’d joined the Southside Serpents towards the end of their freshman year, he didn’t need to know that she’d done a strip show in a sketchy biker bar to earn the jacket that she hid in the back of her closet, and he definitely didn’t need to know that she’d started that fateful Fourth of July by waking up in bed with Jason Blossom. But then sophomore year starts, and with that comes cheerleading and football, playing guitar and talking about going professional, her boyfriend’s - now ex boyfriend’s, she’d suppose - body being found in the river, and an investigation that threatens to reveal every secret she’s ever kept.
1b – Anastasia Andrews – currently Abigail Cowen, will not recast unless I use Abigail Cowen for Aaliya and Sadie for Anastasia
Starting high school was supposed to be fun, right? Apparently whoever said that had never found their brother hooking up with the pedophilic music teacher on their first day, but Anastasia Andrews could tell you from experience, that ruined it. And if Archie was lying about his relationship with Grundy, could that mean he was also lying about July 4th? She might not care about Jason Blossom, but she cared about protecting her brother, and if the best way to do that was to team up with Jughead Jones to solve the case themselves, well, she’d do it.
2 – Jewel Cooper – currently Grace Phipps, new options are Katie Douglas, Liana Liberato, Sadie Stanley, or Milly Alcock
Opal Cooper, the youngest of the Cooper sisters, had always known that she was different. How could she not? Her dark hair made her the literal black sheep of her perfectly blonde family. Sure, her mom always claimed that she inherited it from her grandfather, but Opal knew that something was different. So, in the summer before she started high school, she did some digging. She wasn’t surprised at all to find she wasn’t a Cooper, but she was more than a little shocked to learn her biological father was none other than FP Jones. A simple desire to build a relationship with her real dad started Opal down a road that she never expected; a road of gangs and murder and nicknames. Starting high school armed with a switchblade and the truth about what happened to Jason Blossom, the newly nicknamed Jewel Cooper was nothing like the Opal anyone remembered.
3 – Vine Verona – currently Emily Rudd, new options Zoey Deutch, Olivia Cooke, or Milly Alcock (leaning towards Olivia Cooke)
If there was one thing that Ivy Verona was good at, it was lying. She lied to the Northsiders; she said she was Northside pure, that her guardian was an accountant, that she’d never even heard of the Whyte Wyrm. She lied to the Southside too; she said she was flunking all her major classes, said cheerleading was only a front, said she planned to stay in Riverdale the rest of her life. And then there was the lie that she told the entire town - that she had no idea what might’ve happened to Jason Blossom. Only her uncle FP and best friend Joaquin knew the truth. She’d been Jason’s dealer; she’d brought him to the Wyrm; she’d watched him die, and then washed away his blood; she dumped his body in the river and pretended it never happened. But the biggest lie she told was to herself - that Jason Blossom’s death was not her fault.

Riverdale Episode 6.5 (Rivervale Finale)
In the final chapter of this fanfic-within-the-canon that has been the ride through Rivervale, there’s a truly Herculian effort to resolve the in-AU storylines that have received varying levels of development, and an attempt to tie it all back to Riverdale, to which we will return. And a lot of it is very witty and so much of this episode encapsulates what I so love about Riverdale the show as a piece of entertainment.
There are six elements that serve as tentpoles to this AU finale, and they are:
Just Go With It
It was All A Dream
It Hath Been Foretold
Fanservice/ Fan Provocation
Jughead Jones is Always Ready to Die
Riverdale Writers Find Writing Very Hard & Want You To Know
Here we go!
1. Just Go With It
Narration Jughead opens the episode with the very portentous statement that “The following isn’t an imaginary story. It happened” but then we jump immediately to - “Archie Andrews has *somehow* just come back from the dead.” No explanation, no attempt at curiosity as to how - he just has. SOMEHOW is the answer, OK?
The Barchie Wedding is introduced with this same Just Go With It energy. Jughead is himself and not himself, and so when everyone has to explain to him what they (inclusive of Jughead) have been aware of for weeks, they all give him appropriately weird looks.
When the piling on of narrative elements gets too unwieldy (trust me - trying to SUMMARIZE this episode proved to be too much for me, and I’m pretty intrepid) Jughead just tells you that “The rules of this universe were making less sense every day.” I suppose you could call this a cop out, or bad writing, but then you’re no fun and you lack Just Go With It energy.
Because Jughead Narrator is a Bughead Stan and does not want to even LOOK AT the Barchie Wedding (though he does want to have Betty rescue him in a wedding gown by literally shooting Archie from behind - remember that nightmare Jughead had about stabbing Archie in the back when he ‘got’ Betty?? I mean. Jughead Jones as a writer is not subtle!) we don’t get any of those scenes. Even more blatantly, Betty, after preparing a wedding, getting dressed up and made up, being stood up at the altar in front of all her friends by her childhood first love and best friend, calmly says: I JUST KNEW TO COME HERE to explain her timely appearance. We need to just go with it.
2. It was all a dream
There’s a super easy trope for off-universe off-piste adventures often deployed in both professional and amateur storytelling: It Was All A Dream. Betty, Fangs, Veronica, Reggie, the Blossom women - everyone wakes up to say they had ‘a dream’ about their particular episode.
The one apparent exception to this, because Jughead is Narrator and Author and accordingly made himself the most important person in this universe, Jughead von Rivervale jolts awake from a dream he has about an explosion that happened in Prime Universe Riverdale to Jughead von Riverdale (who didn’t actually experience the explosion in that way).
And yet! Was he really sleeping? Did he really wake up? Or does Jughead think he woke up only to keep on dreaming?
Coming to in Archie’s garage, Jughead von Rivervale walks all the way home to where he lives with Tabitha and they have the weirdest conversation ever. Or maybe it’s just me. If someone I live with walked in barefoot, disheveled and clearly not having slept in their own bed when they almost always do, I would never have had the ho-hum no-reaction reaction that Tabitha has. It’s just such a telling choice, to have her as ‘HOW DID YOU SLEEP’ when he just walked in through the front door. See? This might be Jughead’s dream still, mind you, so this is a fun quirky way to destabilize the narrative to make room for all the shenanigans that are coming down the pipeline.
Archie’s actions too seem to be fueled by dream-logic more than anything else, as well. Archie murders, in sequence, two women (Veronica and Cheryl) and then his lesbian coded friend Jughead in order to get his Daddy back. Herr Freud? Sind Sie da?? Archie being the one who has figured out the rules of “this universe” and says things like, “I am on the threshold of revelation.” This statement strongly argues for This Was All A Dream because Archie Andrews is just not bright like that and just does not talk like that.
3. It Has Been Written/ Foretold and /or ‘Tis Inevitable!
Jughead starts to read the 95 issues of Riverdale, the comics, and the comic covers say things like: America’s Typical Teenagers. Rivervale. What is the Jughead Paradox. And they even show Barchie in a wedding setting. Jughead is a faithful reader (Hermione Coded!) and reads to solve every problem. I got a big kick out of the Neverending Story reference, where the next ‘chapters’ or ‘frames’ of the book remain blank unless Jughead of Rivervale, the Object that Thinks He’s a Subject, lives it.
Subheading: Physics is Magic is God. Despite the efforts of brilliant eminent physicists, most of us just don’t understand physics. Not any more than previous generations of people really understood theology. We just go with it because we’re told smart people figured it out, and we benefit from bridges and tunnels and airplanes and satellites that use physics and they work. So Riverdale writers use the same tropes to just push us to accept that whatever they’re doing is supposed to happen by reaching for physics. When Ethelhead and Dilton are figuring things out, the board in the room says Physics Words like: observer (effect??), Einstein tensor defined, a space time interval. Vacume(? misspelling) law of special? relativity - all so that we can rest assured this has all been foretold and is inevitable.
4. Fan Service/ Fan Provocation
The one-two rapid punch of fan service (for portions of fandom) and fan provocation (apparently aimed at the entire fandom, sometimes) makes for a very dizzy 100th episode.
Fan service: Nostalgia for Seasons Past. This is a frank acknowledgment of the fact that a show has to have initial, early-season momentum that keeps viewers coming back. So they play the song “Don’t you forget about me” and this weird time capsule thing happens - with the S1 Riverdale-style Veronica- Betty- Kevin walk through the corridor at Riverd(v)ale High. Archie is with Grundy (implied), and Jughead is somehow still getting body checked by Reggie 2.0 (who didn’t really do this - that was Reggie 1.0). But Reggie 2.0 seems to see the current and past and yet this just turns out to be the actor being interesting. Cheryl is a sneery cheerleader again, and Toni as she was first styled when Jughead first met her walks by. Then Jughead sees himself.
This whole bit reminded me of corps de ballet ballerina memoirs where they talk about fitting into the Swan Lake or Giselle wili costume from the year before - some can and some can’t. In the several years of this show, some of these actors really do look exactly the same and most don’t, so I wondered about the advisability of doing this as a production, but I still got a kick out of it.
Fan Service: Bringing back as many actors as they could from earlier seasons.
I LOVED IT. I am very sad of course at the omission of SWEET PEA and also MALACHAI but it is what it is. Ben Button showing up only to be told, point blank, BEN YOU DIED was PEAK Riverdale to me and I had such a good time. Jughead, you can’t just tell people they died. The comeback that Ben has is hilarious - being told ‘you’re dead’ - he answers, “You have symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia” and then wishes all a good day. By the same token: Jason gets to talk!!!! They really owed it to this actor, I think, to give him a close up and some lines because of what they did to Jason’s corpse all these years.
Fan Service: They address the Reggie Recasting. Regarding the Reggie situation, Jughead calls it an ANOMALY but otherwise doesn’t attempt to explain how Reggie entered the anomaly by himself. I prefer my own explanation - that Reggie 2.0 speaking of himself in the third person (“How can Reggie make it all better?”) is what summons Reggie 1.0. Reggie is such a fun character (“I’m Reggie prime baby.” - “You’ve been in like three issues.”) and has similar Hermosa-Veronica vibes in terms of wanting to be the elder sibling if they can’t be the only child. Reggie is also the only male character, really, that you could realistically send to be a stripper at a Bachelorette Party.
Aside: The rules of American television are so weird: Women getting off to a male stripper are not erotic, are not adult, it’s just SILLY, so this is not obscene, but a woman being a stripper for men would be all those things, so we get a boy stripper at a women’s party and then the young men at the Bachelor’s party having THE MOST sedate evening ever.
The fact that the two Reggies kill each other instead of having a threesome with the very willing Veronica was a huge disservice to Veronica and I am very disappointed in the Reggies, but the fact that I can think these thoughts and then write them out is, in fact, very high quality fan service indeed.
Fan Service: Dilton is back!! By the way, the librarian seems really furious that Dilton is alive and never returned the library books but also has never asked for them apparently was more dream logic. Can I just say - Dilton has the most excellent hair. Dilton does the same kind of interesting ornate hand gestures as Jughead when he delivers lines like “peaceful coexistence with one another” and “Stop trying to figure out the secrets to the universe. You have a good life here Jughead.”
The absolutely cursed items of clothing that they keep giving Jughead this season (what the fuck are these PATTERNS people??) have had me silently cursing the costume department but they get something absolutely right on Dilton here: HE WEARS A BOWTIE FOR NO REASON. Dudes who do this, wear bowties casually like it’s a normal thing to do, are villains. Absolute villains. VILLAINS! In real life. So if you see one, watch out, friend. (End of public service announcement.) So anyway Dilton gives a villain laugh and then he dies a second time, by murder, again - this time at Ethel’s hands and we will be talking about Ethel in a bit.
Fan Provocation: They bring Hal back to be a nice dad. NOBODY WANTED THIS. This is harmful to EVERYONE. Death to Hal in all universes please. And this is paired with the fact that they killed Hiram - OFF SCREEN. This is pure provocation.
Fan Service/ Provocation: A Barchie Wedding! Betty has been talking about getting married to Archie since her early childhood (interestingly, I don’t recall Betty planning to MARRY Jughead, but just being with him) so it’s fitting that she is shown in a wedding dress for the 100th episode. That’s what happens when you’re the female lead. This is Barchie fanservice but blatant Bughead provocation, and they tried to have their cake and eat it because they show both Betty and Archie in their lovely wedding outfits, but we never see the venue or how it was decorated or the VERY dramatic fact of Archie standing Betty up. This AU’s narrator, though, is a pro-Bughead Jughead so it made me laugh that he was UNWILLING to imagine the Barchie wedding in great detail (though he used to imagine exactly what Veronica and Archie did together in bed down to the last kiss lol).
Fan Service/ Provocation: ETHELHEAD. I’m a pro Ethel, pro Ethelhead person. Mostly because the extremely meanspirited way canon scoffed with such contempt at the idea that Ethel could ever EVER get Jughead (who’s literally, Jughead hello) rubbed me the wrong way. So the fan service to people like me came in the form of Ethel getting to say things like, “I can save Riverdale.” And Ethel and Jughead explaining back and forth to each other that Barchie Love is THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF GOODNESS in the UNIVERSE cracked me up.
Ethel also gets to have a really important thing in common with Jughead - she is ready to accept a reality in which her existence is not of primary importance. Jughead Jones is in fact the only being of her generation that would calmly accept and agree with statements like WE WERE NOT MEANT TO EXIST and WE ARE ABERRATIONS. See? SEE?? They belong together!!!
Ethelhead get to hatch an insane scheme together too. Jughead says, We just need to detonate a bomb under Archie’s bed (This is the guy who lay under the bed while Barchie made out on top of it on the bunker!) but refuses to actually blow up Barchie (because he doesn’t hate them! Bless!). And Ethel gets to be told she’s brilliant.
Fan Service: We Miss Fred Andrews Everyone wants Fred back - this is a GREAT motivation for Archie to do anything. .
Fan Service: Heaven to Jughead is the Diner. I mean - this is funny. Some fanfic writers literally create a whole universe but others reuse things. It’s hard to imagine what heaven is like but you can just send Jughead to the one place he always consistently seemed to like going to and that’s the diner.
Fan Provocation: Archie BEATS DOWN THE DOOR WITH A BAT while the terrified off-key Bughead combo of Narrator Jughead and Betty cling to each other in panic. This was the funniest thing I’ve seen on this show. This is apparently how the Barchie-Bughead fandom dynamics look like to the Riverdale writers - that the Bugheads feel literally imperiled, with the armed and dangerous Barchies violently knocking down the door. I have no idea if this is accurate, because to me both sets of fandoms have people who get kind of scary about it and an equal number of people who just wanna vibe with their ship and pretend the other one is not a thing. And I will note that the thing that ends the world is Archie attacking Jughead.
Fan Provocation: Jeronica Is Not Allowed. It’s not even called Jeronica, which is such a better name than Vughead (NOBODY CALLS IT THAT).
There is an acknowledgment that textually, Jeronica are set up to be counterparts to Barchie. Jughead is willing to die to save billions in a world that may or may not exist, and so is Veronica and this is a prime Jeronica moment. She says, “Let’s make out to save the universe.” While THIS IS THE MOST FANFIC THING TO EVER SAY, the way they have Veronica say it like she’d really rather just eat dog poop, that was rude
5. Jughead Jones is Always Ready To Die
Jughead dies in some way every season, and this AU arc is no exception. It’s not any sort of Riverdale finale when Jughead isn’t dead on a slab. Except - and this was truly delightful - for the first time ever, Jughead gets to see HIMSELF dead on a slab.
Jughead’s been pretend-dead on this slab before. Now one of him is actually dead. And he’s standing looking at it. And Curdle looks freaked out but also calmly accepting (shades of Tabitha). And literal cracks appear in reality when Jughead of Rivervale sees a Jughead Jones dead on the slab.
Jughead is so ready to be dead at all times that he just asks “How did I- How did HE die?” without much freaking out. (If I saw Me dead on the slab I would mourn so hard, people, you don’t even KNOW.) When Jughead the Alive goes to see the Rivervale sign, there’s an infinity sign on it and the phrase, “There’s No Place Like Home’ - just like Wizard of Oz maybe, except everything is in dank green and blues. The RiverDALE sigh though, on the reverse side, says THE TOWN WITH POP’S (not the town with Pep!) HUH!!
The consistency of characterization is very important in creating credible alternate universes, and since Canon Jughead is someone who wouldn’t center himself, it makes sense Rivervale Jughead accepts the idea that his world (Vale) is the parallel reflection rather than being world-prime. (Despite Tabitha giving him a You are cRaZy look.)
6. Writing is Really, Really Hard, you guys
So this is how Riverdale writers summarize what Riverdale the show is, and they have Jughead say it: It’s a universe of high school dances and masked serial killers,of football and milkshakes and musicals and cults, diabolical board games and murderous nuns.
Note the wording. It’s not A STORY ABOUT a boy and a girl and whatever. It’s not about some sort of narrative thread. It’s about these elements someone wanted to smoosh into a show and stir.
Anyway they really want you to know that writing is extraordinarily important, that writers are people who grind their very bones into dust, sealed into an underground bunker with nobody for company but people they don’t want to have sex with, being used as living batteries to generate the very world in which we all live.
“Soon you will forget about Jughead’ the writers’ sacrifice for you and for us and he they will fade from memory.”
Honeys, you wish. We know what you did. WE KNOW WHAT YOU DID. You only wish you could fade from memory.
#I've had notes on this forever and the airing of the Season 6b promos in the US finally gave me the kick in the pants I needed to write this#Riverdale analysis#riverdale season 6#ethelhead#jeronica advocacy#i wish i could be brief but i cannot#also i need to keep up some sort of rhythm on when i write essays because this is a very unnatural form of writing#how did i do this as a full time student? no wonder everyone got so stressed#Riverdale s6

Golly, Archie!
[Based on an inbox request sent to me by @tfkinky ]
Hiram Lodge stood in front of the mirror and adjusted his tie. Today, as with every day, he looked his best and most professional. The crisp black dress shirt wrapped around his powerful chest, his strong arms were hugged by a deep blue suit coat, and a matching tie perfectly pulled the look together. His eyebrows were neatly shaped. His hair... not a strand out of place. He radiated power, and for a good reason: Hiram Lodge basically owned Riverdale.
He was close to literally owning Riverdale, but he had two items left on his to-do list: Archie Andrews and Jughead Jones. At his every chance to claim total control, those two thugs somehow managed to thwart his plans at the last second. If he could get rid of them, nothing would stop him.
And as it turned out, there might be a way to get rid of them.
In a particular moment of desperation, Hiram had made his way to a local witches’ coven. There, he had learned an interesting fact: there was an alternate version of Riverdale in a local parallel universe. One where life was very, very different.
After a series of shady deals with the witches, Hiram was taught a spell which could be used to completely rewrite the reality of an individual and slip them into this alternate universe. Only in his case, it would be two individuals.
Now, Hiram walked over to his desk. He had drawn a pentagram and lit candles as instructed by the witches, and spread out in the middle were pages from a 1950’s comic, showing teenagers living in the time period. On top of the comic pages were two photos: one of Archie, and one of Jughead. Hiram made small cuts in each of his palms, and held them palms-down over the photos. As his blood dripped onto the setup, Hiram chanted:
Little boys who think they’re cool.
Hot shots, now made into fools.
No longer swear, no longer act mean.
Learn to say golly, nifty, and keen.
Slick your hair and dance the jive.
Welcome to 1955.
With each word, the photos began to warp and shake as if they were water. Slowly the photos began to almost melt into the comic, until they disappeared from the table completely. Instead, the comics now featured two new characters: goofy looking 50’s versions of his former foes. The candles blew out.
Hiram smiled to himself. What fun they’ll have
Archie wiped sweat off his brow. He had been mowing lawns and trimming hedges all day. In an effort to make some extra cash on the side he had started his own lawn care service for the good people of Riverdale. It was tough work, but the money was nice. And he got to walk around shirtless all day, which was a nice plus.
As he threw down another bag of clippings, Archie heard a voice in his head.
“You’re a good boy, Archie.”
Archie paused. He looked around. There was nobody else on the street right now. Had he imagined that? He shook his head and went back to work.
... but even as he worked, Archie couldn’t stop thinking of that little voice. The phrase “good boy” stuck with him, and bounced around in his head like a lone thought running free. Archie had never considered himself one of those goody two-shoes guys. Given everything that happened in this town, everyone had to have a bit of dirt on on their hands. But what if he didn’t? What if he had the chance to do better, wash his hands off and dedicate his life to being a good son and a good member of the community. Well, gosh, wouldn’t that be something?
Before these thoughts went any further, Archie snapped back into the moment. It was a nice idea, but this was his life.
“You’re a well-behaved, well-mannered boy.”
He hear the voice from nowhere again, and this time it sounded even more persuasive. Unconsciously, Archie shifted his back and stood straight, rigid as a board. It was like second nature - without thinking, Archie knew to look upright and presentable at all times. After all, that was the way any well-behaved boy should act.
And as he shifted into a proper posture, he felt a wave of Euphoria was over himself. Standing tall allowed him to push out his chest and show off his arms, after all. He smiled a wide, wide smile. Acting in this way, being a good boy, it made him feel indescribably happy... and also a bit horny. There was a strange feeling bubbling inside of him, growing stronger with every second. A feeling of peppiness, and perkiness. Archie knew it was right to help people. Gosh, that’s what good guys do, right? That’s why I’m mowing my neighbors lawns for free, Archie thought to himself. But no - that’s not right. No, I’m trying to make money... aren’t I? Archie felt confused, like his truth was being clouded and replaced by a new preppy reality that was only getting more intense. Golly, how much farther could this go?
“You have sharp dress style.”
With those words, the few clothes Archie was wearing flew off his body. He immediately moved to cover himself up, until the wave of preppy euphoria relaxed him again. He didn’t really miss his old clothes that much. Sloppy jeans and t shirts? And he had the audacity to walk around shirtless? Unacceptable, Archie thought to himself. I can’t look sloppy, I’m 18 for Pete’s sake! I should be dressed to the nines at all times!
The universe seemed to comply with Archie’s new thoughts as a fresh set of clothes wrapped themselves around him. 1950’s style tighty whities slip up and covered his private areas, nicely cupping his sizeable package and perfectly outlining his firm, round buttocks. The waist band went up to his high waist in that classic 50’s style, a style that Archie was coming to think of as his own.
A white dress shirt appeared next, buttoning itself up to the very top button. The shirt was tight against Archie’s beefcake body, and the outline of his pecs and arms could be seen through the shirt, a feeling Archie didn’t mind. The shirt had a small polka dot pattern on it, but of course it did. Archie loved fun patterns on his clothes! Sometimes he wore multiple bright patterns just to feel extra nifty.
Today was one of those days, apparently, as wool dress slacks with a plaid pattern slid up Archie’s thick legs, coming to rest at his high waist. Through the pants the outline of his full buttocks could be seen. The shirt tucked itself into his pants. As if I would ever go anywhere with my shirt untucked! Archie wanted to guffaw at the thought!
A plaid green bow tie wrapped itself around Archie’s neck into a perfect bow (Archie had mastered the art of tying a bow tie many years ago. He hardly left the house without one). As it locked into place, the wide smile on Archie’s face got wider. He felt absolutely giddy in these clothes. Golly, he loved to dress crisp like this! It made him feel real boss.
Pristine white dress socks rolled up his feet, and wingtip loafers wrapped around them. The shoes were brown leather, so perfectly polished that Archie could see his reflection in them. He polished his shoes every night, he liked to keep them looking a spiffy as possible. A matching brown leather belt, just as polished, cinched his waist, further defining his beefy build.
Over the top of the whole ensemble, a knit sweater vest appeared, in a deep blue. Emblazoned on the front was a gold “R” - for Riverdale High, of course! Archie loved his school and had a number of sweater vests, sweaters, ties, caps, and other pieces of merchandise for the school. He loved to incorporate them into his look - Riverdale’s quarterback should show his school pride, after all!
“You look clean-cut and presentable at all times.”
Archie’s hair ruffled as gel began to flow through it and lock it in a slicked back position. His signature red locks now looked like a plastic helmet on top of his head, perfectly styled into a neat all-American side part (the way every man’s hair should look!), and lightened until it was almost a cartoonish orange.
Archie’s bushy eyebrows slimmed out, taking on a clean styled look, and the pores on his face vanished. Archie how had an impossibly clear and bright complexion, aside from a smattering of freckles across his checks. His teeth straightened into a perfect row. His eyes shined a bright blue, even if his gaze was now a bit mindless.
Archie’s look had totally transformed. He no longer looked like the tough jock he was before. He now dressed like a total square. But Archie didn’t care, he thought his dress style was neato! An artificial perfection settled over his whole look, locking Archie in plasticine preppiness.
Archie rubbed his new clothes. Gosh, he enjoyed the feeling of them so much. As his fingers circled his chest, he heard several more words from the voice, only now he willingly welcomed them:
“You obey your parents, Archie.”
“You follow all orders you’re given.”
“You always hold the door open for those behind you.”
“You’d never do something without asking first.”
“You always say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’.”
“You are a good boy, Archie.”
With every command that rang through his vacant head, Archie’s wide smile only got wider. The perky feeling was growing. It wasn’t just in his stomach, it had spread through his arms and legs, into his fingers and toes and into every hair on his head. On a molecular level, Archie felt like a keen all-American teen. A swell guy who helped old ladies cross the street, always had dates home by 10PM sharp, and ended nearly every sentence with “sir” or “ma’am” when talking to an adult.
Archie’s connection to this Riverdale was fading. The squeaky clean school boy now had little in common with the unforgiving town he had grown up in. Instead, he was coming into alignment with the other Riverdale, the one where wholesome American values had never gone out of style. His memories had also shifted from the old Riverdale to the new, as he only ever remembered the 1950’s haven as his home.
But there was so much to do there! Heading to the malt shop! Going to sock hops with Betty and Ronnie! Listening to records! Gee whiz, Archie enjoyed his Riverdale life so much, he wanted to be there right now!
“Archie, it’s time to go home.”
For a brief second, Archie’s head spun as the world flashed and shifted around him.
Only for a brief second, though. After that, it was back to the setting Archie knew and loved. Technicolor houses, white picket fences. Children playing in the street. Home. Archie sighed and smiled. He was at peace here.
Suddenly, Archie remembered his plans for the day. He was going to pick up Veronica and take her to Pop’s. Without missing a beat, Archie ran to Veronica’s house. His knock on the door was answered by this Riverdale’s version of Veronica, sporting a prim blouse and skirt, with bobbed hair.
“Hiya, Ronnie!” Archie exclaimed with a wide grin.
“Hey there, Archiekins!” Veronica pulled Archie into a hug.
The two embraced for a moment and looked at each other sweetly. It was puppy love, plain and simple. Archie always wanted a girl to be sweet for, and Ronnie was the right one for him. And if he was lucky, they might get to play some backseat bingo in his station wagon later.
“Ready to go, sweetie?” Archie asked. Veronica responded with a nod, and the two made their way to Pop’s to split a sundae. Another perfect Riverdale day!
———————————————————————
Jughead paced the floor of his dad’s trailer. He’d been tipped off by a connection on the outskirts of town that Hiram Lodge had been seen paying a visit to the local coven. That could only mean he was up to trouble. Jughead had been trying to contact Archie all day, but his friend had seemingly gone off the grid. Jughead was getting concerned that it wasn’t a coincidence. If Hiram was resorting to black magic, Jughead had no idea what to expect or how to respond. As much research as he did, that was one area he did not mess with.
But now Jughead felt like he was at the end of his line. Hiram had tried multiple times to take him and Archie out, and if he had finally figured out a way, Riverdale was doomed.
He had to contact the witches. That was the only way, Jughead decided. He would drive out there and convince them to undo whatever Hiram had them do. He would beg, make them see that the safety of Riverdale was on the line. It wasn’t his best plan, but it would have to work. It would have to.
Jughead picked up his keys, but dropped them again just as quickly after a booming voice echoed inside his head.
“You’re a good boy, Jughead.”
He couldn’t move. He knew this was the end. But even scarier than the absolute terror he was feeling in the face of defeat, was the fact that those feelings of terror were disappearing. As much as he didn’t want to listen to the voice, the phrase “good boy” just refused to go away. It comforted him, the idea of giving in. Jughead had worked for so long to be a total nonconformist, and yet in this moment he wanted nothing more than to just fit on. Be one of the boys.
Jughead was terrified by the thoughts he heard and felt. He was fighting to hold on to his consciousness, but it was quickly becoming a losing battle.
“You’re a goofy, fun-loving guy.”
Jughead chuckled. He sure did feel that way sometimes. All throughout high school he had been a class clown, always making light of the situation. It was just his way of seeing the world. He liked to make people laugh, but nobody laughed louder than he did at himself.
“You are always dressed in a clean, respectable fashion.”
Jughead’s denim jacket and flannel disappeared from his body. Jughead didn’t mind too much. He wasn’t the kind of guy to dress to the nines, but he did think that every young guy should know how to dress. Jughead kept it simple, but he kept it clean.
To highlight this point, a blue turtleneck sweater popped up around his slender frame, leaving him feeling very comfortable.
White briefs wrapped up his nether regions like a Christmas present, and black dress slacks covered the top of them. The pants were freshly ironed, with visible pleats down the front. Jughead always wore clean clothes!
White tube socks rolled up his legs, and over the top of them came a fresh pair of Chuck Taylor All Stars. Jughead sighed with relief as he wriggled his toes around inside the shoes. Nothing made him feel more boss than a pair of Chucks.
On top of his head, Jughead’s beanie had reformed as a paper crown, his trademark accessory. Jughead didn’t know how he had started wearing it or why he still did, but it sure was fun! And it matched his goofy personality well.
“Your appearance is just as well groomed as your clothes.”
Jughead’s long, unkempt hair was pulled to the side and perfectly groomed into a side part, shortening down in the process to a fresh cut. His teeth whitened and his skin cleared up, just as it had for Archie. Jughead now looked like a perfect model for a Normal Rockwell painting.
Jughead loved the way he looked. This was who he was: just one of the guys, always ready to join in on plans, but never looking to stand out. He was a lovable goofball, and he wore his reputation with pride.
Jughead stood in place, enjoying the feel of his new getup, as more commands piled into his head.
“You love to eat.”
Food was one thing he couldn’t get enough of. He often had multiple hamburgers at Pop’s, and always had snacks no matter where he went.
Jughead let out a low burp. His stomach rumbled, then expanded under his sweater, reflecting his new big eater tendencies. Jughead enjoyed his little pot belly. He chuckled thinking about it.
“You love to laugh.”
And as he did, his chuckle turned into a full-bellied laugh, sending waves of joy throughout his body. His laugh began to take on a honking quality as the tip of his nose expanded to a bulbous shape.
“You are slow-witted, but keen and well-mannered.”
The light behind Jughead’s eyes faded. His journalistic wit and hard-hitting problem solving skills were gone. As Jughead’s goofy personality took over, he felt his care for school and work disappear. He didn’t like to try too hard, raised people’s expectations of him too much. And besides, that school stuff was so hard. Why not take life easy?
“You love to joke, dance, and do other fun-loving, innocent teenage activities.”
Jughead smiled as he remembered his Riverdale. A town where all his best pals were, and where he got to enjoy his neighborhood and all the pleasant people within. It made Jughead happy to think of his Riverdale. He never had to try hard there. Eating burgers and drinking shakes were his highest priorities. The most work he did was cracking a joke in response to Archie’s latest goof.
Jughead kept thinking about his town and how swell he felt when he was there, and realized he wanted nothing more than to be back. Back in his 1950’s home.
With perfect timing, the final command came.
“Time to go home, Jughead.”
Jughead spun, and so did the world. Then, half a second later, everything was back to normal. He was at home, in the suburbia of good ol’ Riverdale. The sun was shining high and proud, and for the 782nd day in a row there was not a cloud in the sky. Jughead knew this was where he belonged.
And just his luck. Across the street was none other than his best pal Archie Andrews! Archie was with Veronica, but was grinning ear-to-ear as he saw Jughead, and Jughead felt the same way as he saw his buddy. Jughead ran across the street to join them (after looking both ways first, of course).
“Howdy Jug! Boy, you have no idea how glad I am to see you!” Archie exclaimed.
“Right back at ya, Archie! Gosh, I’ve been looking for you all over!”
The two pals exchanged perfect white smiles, filled to the brim with glee. What could be better than life in Riverdale, with good buds and great manners?
Archie opened his mouth again “Hey Jug, Ronnie and I were about to go to Pop’s. Wanna tag along?”
“Golly, Archie! You know I can’t say no to Pop’s!”
The three friends all laughed in unison. They turned and began to walk down the street. The sun was shining on another perfect Riverdale day, and it was only noon! Who knew what kind of wacky adventures they could get in today?
TWO WEEKS LATER
Hiram sat and enjoyed a celebratory glass of wine. It had taken several nights of hard bargaining with Mayor McCoy to get what he wanted, but after pointing out the town’s high crime rate and lack of development (and also after making a few “charitable donations”), Hiram got what he finally wanted: ownership of Riverdale. He now truly felt on top of the world.
“This morning’s paper, sir.”
Hiram turned his head to watch as Smithers, the Lodge family’s long time assistant, came in to the room. Hiram thanked Smithers as he left a copy of the morning’s Riverdale Registrar on the table. Hiram truly didn’t care about most of the tat in that paper, even though he was technically it’s owner. But he flipped through, looking for one section that he had recently insisted they add.
“Bingo!” Hiram found what he was looking for as he flipped to the comics page. There at the top was a full-color page of comics labeled Archie and Friends. In today’s installment, Archie (clad in the most garish red bow tie Hiram had ever seen) was helping the neighbor’s kid find his model plane, before being tricked and falling into a swimming pool. Hiram found himself laughing. Archie had always been a gullible fool, it was nice to see that reflected in his new persona. And there right next to him was Jughead, laughing along and eating a sandwich.
Hiram enjoyed seeing what his two former nemeses were up to. He now had a copy of the Registrar delivered to his office every day so he could observe their ridiculously corny adventures. His eyes rolled along the page, looking at the various scenarios the boys found themselves in.
His eyes stopped at the end of the page where the strip had introduced a new character, and older gentleman in a waistcoat with slicked back hair.
And his blood froze as he saw Archie call this new character “Mr. Lodge”.
...Coincidence, surely? There was a Veronica in the strip, so maybe this Mr. Lodge was just her alternate universe father. Why on earth would he be in the strip?
Then, Hiram knew exactly why. In order to convince the witches to hand over their secrets, Hiram had promised to grant the witches legal ownership of their coven’s land, as it was within town limits. Hiram had of course told them what they wanted to hear, but in his legal proceedings earlier that day, he had laid out plans to turn the woodland containing the coven into a tourist lodge.
And somehow, they had found out.
Hiram maintained his composure, even as panic rose inside him. He had faced tougher foes before, and he wasn’t about to let a group of hokey witches take him down. He just had to think of what to do.
Only it was becoming terribly hard for Hiram to think, because a new voice was speaking to him:
“You’re a good boy, Hiram.”

this took two days *shrugs*
- Nana Rose just shows up to say crazy shit that nobody bothers to fact check.
- Still obsessed over Betty/Archie. I mean, I don’t know what show YOU’RE watching but I’m hoping they just let these two pretty violent people kill and be done with it.
- Erinn’s hair looks slightly better this season but I still want to know who does her hair and makeup. I just want to talk.
- Speaking of, Tabitha and Jughead. 💕 I like this winning feeling. I’m usually sailing on dead ships.
- Reggie looks unconvinced…and I am too since the show made it clear that they were both pretty much in Riverdale due to circumstances. Not by choice. But I guess Rivervale? Is she staying now for Reggie? Why else would she stay? Leave Veronica! The town is cursed in any universe!
*ahem*
- Why are we putting children in Cheryl’s care? Sidenote: MP looks amazing like you can tell they have the most fun finding stuff for her to wear. I covet almost everything (but in black, my closet is stereotypical new yorker please)
- oh that was just up until the title card. damn show. this is gonna take a couple tries finish all the way through. *goes for wine*
- god, my sister is having her second baby and my brother just had his first so i’ve heard a version of this question since JUNE. stop these people.
- wtf. i literally do not care about what cheryl is saying. its hilariously bad (and offensive) in a thousand ways.
- so do we actually hear about how toni feels about cheryl’s claims? 👀 (finished the episode: of course not.)
- “there’s no way a serpent mother would abandon her baby.” HAHAHAHA. isn’t that the point of the serpents? found family and whatnot?
- im sorry toni. you deserve better too.
- that was the least sexy rolling around in money scene ever. they feel so… controlled in their scenes where they are both usually prone to overdramatics. au characterization? nah. thats too much insight for this show. im only 15 mins in let me give them a chance. (so veronica sacrificed archie so reggie would stop feeling like second place. so archie has to die in order for reggie to win? hm.)
- i like archie too much to comment on my last statement publicly 😶 but you too deserve better reggie.
- LOL Alice. first. i’ve tried alice’s direct approach. after several glasses of wine. 10/10 would recommend. but strong silent type? uhm.
- i think archie, who took in his own best friend and watched his father take in people who needed help, would be open to adoption.
- im sorry toni. you deserve better THAN TO BE CHERYL’S SIDEKICK AGAIN
- free the children !
- is it that they don’t want to pay any of the other riverparents that i have to sit through frank andrews. boo.
- “tab tab.” boooo cheryl. hiss. AND the headband. booo. you’re not fooling me riverdale hair and make up.
- betty could’ve said, “we’re going because im going to kill this crazy bitch once and for all.” and then archie’d say, “im in. what do you need me to do?” but no.
- “I love you back.” ARCHIE AND JUGHEAD : THE REAL OTP.
- cheryl: so all you have to do is…
riverpeople: but EYE don’t actually have to do anything right?
- UM. sorry. I need a moment. the table pull. I just… it saved the pie moment for me.
- “I’m with child.” I cackled. It was ugly. I choked on my smoke. It was almost worth it. Then I watched it again. (I don’t come to Riverdale for normal guys and I think we spent five seasons establishing that they (Betty and Archie) are not their so called labels so why would I want that for them?)
- “Jug.” OTP I TELL YOU
- Veronica did not even hesitate. CRYING. Not even an “I’m sorry Archiekins.”
- well, that was as batshit as everyone said. also post time jump jughead is doing it for me.
#i can’t believe i wrote a long post on riverdale#yes that is a tag now#riverdale season six#let me rant about my guilty pleasures#f: riverdale#c: archie andrews#c: betty cooper#c: veronica lodge#c: jughead jones#c: tabitha tate#c: cheryl blossom#c: reggie mantle

Hey ho there, feel free to ignore this and I hope I'm not bugging you as I awkwardly slide in here, but I must ask: if you had full creative control of the show, how would you run season 5? You can pick and choose whatever leaks you want to include.
Ah!!! Thank you for your ask <3 I might have spent a couple nights typing out my answer, but in short: I'd cherry pick old story arcs, bring back everyone I like and who doesn't run when they hear Riverdale's calling.
I'd definitely get some decent writers (I'm partial to Jane Espenson, but no idea if she'd be a good fit) and definitely some diversity. I might accidentally fire all men and then play up all their shitty recurring themes for fun as a weird inside joke between me and the show.
I think if they ever gave me creative control of the show it would swerf hard to the crazy and not leave that lane because honestly, i think that's what Riverdale does best.
So, where would I start...
Instead of giving season four a decent ending, I would start with an extra long pilot with the title 'previously on' where the best and most important bits of the teens' school lives is shown with a heavy focus on Jason and the Farm. Parallely, we get to see the lovestory of Chic and Charles. The episode ends with a few very short scenes of the prom where everyone's happy and pretty.
Then we'd start on the real season five. It's been seven years and our characters are older and more grown up.
The show would at first only present the present lifesbof our characters and the barest bones structure to keep as much a little mysterious as possible (but here I tell you what happened during timeskip, too).
Archie is often considered the main character, so let's start with him:
Archie went to the Army after school (though he didn't actually pass his exams and thus didn't graduate, Mr Honey was quite amused). On his most recent tour he met someone special: Eric, his new friend.
Archie was wounded in battle with a... giant mutated elephant with sharp teeth and hallucinogenic venom. Or something. He isn't really sure what happened, but he's got a huge new scar all over his torso. The abs stayed in tact, but oh his pride. During recovery he met new wheelchair user (and on occasion crutches) Eric who has trouble walking since his legs are misshapen/he only has one. Archie thinks Eric got maimed by the same elephant he was, but thinks it rude to ask.
For Eric I'm picturing Sabrina's Ambrose.
With his hurt pride, Archie can't stay with the military and decides to go back to Riverdale.
Eric doesn't have a place to go, so Archie invites him along.
They need a job and since Eric has a calendar full of sexy half naked firefighters AND since they both have abs, Archie decides that type of uniform is the perfect fit for them and trades his newly renovated and well running boxing gym against the old fire station Penelope Blossom owns. (Literally, they even meet at Pop's to exchange keys and sign papers Penelope brought that Archie doesn't even skim.)
The fire station is quite out of everything, but it has a huge pool Eric likes to swim in and a fire truck. To make ends meet Archie sells his sperm to the Greendale sperm bank.
Archie is of course in love with Eric but unfamiliar with the concept of bisexuality and struggles to identify his attraction for what it is. Eric is a foreigner to Riverdale (or is he?) and unfamiliar with the town's culture and quirks. Still, something going on in Sweetwater River seems to be related to him.
Archie and Eric share the Andrews' House - and in the house next door... live Gladys Jones and Polly Cooper!
After Jughead and Betty left for College Alice' horrid mom impulses settled on Jellybean who didn't stand back, grind her teeth and took it but instead broke Alice' teeth. Her and FP were not amused (though FP was also angry at Alice for being too strict). Alice moves out but stays as a journalist in town.
FP gets in trouble for being a brutal gang leader without a gang beating up criminals behind the boxing gym on tape. Not wanting to go to an illegal fighting club prison, he hides with Canadian Serpents behind the border. (Joaquin's identical twin brother and Ricky live there, too. They're happy there.)
Maybe he'd call once or twice with misleading wrong snake facts that have nothing to do with the current mystery of the episode but fit into perfectly by chance.
Jellybean was invited along, but she chose to stay because she thinks Riverdale is rad and the old Cooper House is luxurious as hell. Also, her mom came back to become the new Sheriff!
Nearly seven years in, Gladys still holds the position because no one legally qualified wants it and she manages to keep gang violence at an all time low for Riverdale. Plus, she and Mary Andrews are not exactly friends but able to work well together. When there's another serial killer running wild in town she has no problem with having another girlfriend of Mary who happens to be a skilled professional in the most relevant field take over for a bit. If needed, the Riverdale gangs are usually willing to add muscle to good causes, too.
Jellybean has left Riverdale for university and will only be present for holidays and breaks. She'd still be played by Trinity because I love her and honestly, real nineteen year olds look like fourteen year olds everywhere in the world. Also this gives the viewers 'Archie vision': he will always see his best friend's toddling baby sister in the young woman which makes her the only undatable (legal) female on this planet for him.
While attending Riverdale High she lead the Andrews Boxing Gym and made it the most successful gym in the area. It won't be a plot point in the show (apart from her being angry at Archie for just trading it against trash) but there will be framed newspaper articlesband the like in Gladys' house.
Around the time everyone graduated, Polly was released from Shady Grooves and is back to her old smart self - and really missing her babies! As Choni leave for whatever private college Blossom women have always gone to, Polly takes them and goes home - just to learn on the porch that not only did her mother sell her childhood home more than a year ago without anyone ever telling her, the college fund she never had gotten legal access to and planned to use for the twins is gone too and her sister left town without saying goodbye.
Gladys has always taken care of all the stray kids she found no matter how tight the budget was and now there's this young desolate mother with twin toddlers in front of her posh murder house she'd gotten for cheap and she has this new gig as sheriff. Of course, she takes them in.
They stay in Betty's old room at first, but they soon get to remodel the attic to give Polly her own room. At present, Dagwood has Polly/Chic/JB's old room and Juniper the one facing Archie's. (When Archie sees her in the room, he actually has a flashback once to when he and Betty used to be so young, but then Juniper turns her gead, stares at him really creepily and smiles weirdly. Archie will be somewhat scared from then onwards and be reminded of when everyone thought Polly might gave killed Jason. Juniper would murder.)
At first, Polly's a full time, stay at home mom, but once the kids are older, she starts working part-time: for Gladys.
It turns out they work amazing together. Gladys tends to jump to convenient conclusions and threatens violence way to freely. Also, she is intimidating as fuck.
Polly is everything she isn't: level headed (to a point, in comparison at least), brilliant at combining clues and steering people (remember how she infiltrated Thornhill and made Cheryl unknowingly assist in her snooping plans?). On top of that, she has these stepford smiles and all the ways to appear unthreatening drillend into her head. Honestly, she and Betty are quite alike. While Betty has the lockpicking skills and knows her way around cars, Polly used to be really into fashion (or something) and, with all her experiences at the Sisters, the Farm and Shady Groves, Polly knows psychology.
She started solving some of Gladys' cases at the breakfast table, but now she's officially a deputy or an advisor or something. They're essentially like FP and Jughead, just that Polly is an adult (and that she wouldn't be in a gang beating suspects up regularly).
(These characters would all be mostly in the background though.)
Veronica finally gained perspective on her relationship to her father and grew up. Hiram's cut out of her life for good. They won't ever interact. (In fact, Hiram either moved to New York or he had a minor traffic accident where he lost all of his memory for good and now lives as Ram Rod and works as a trainer at Penelope's newly acquired boxing gym. Everyone is confused about it but doesn't care to ask.)
Veronica is successful at whatever she's doing and doesn't plan on ever moving back to Riverdale, but maybe something is up at Pop's that requires her checking up on in person and she just happens to cross paths with Betty who is also just there for the weekend. And they haven't had quality time together for years, because it's so hard to stay in contact sometimes even with people you love so much you'd die to keep them safe.
If I could come up with something meaningful for them to catch up on emotionally, I'd have them sitting together in a booth at Pop's for a whole episode just talking (but I'm not that deep).
Veronica might be engaged, but we see it fall through without really getting to meet the guy. She mostly just talks to Betty about him on occasion but in a somewhat messed up way. Ultimately, she realises how she treats him in some regards like Hiram treated her and her mother. She wants to grow up further and not be like her father anymore. Since the fiance was only a trophy pawn, she breaks it off and concentrates on introspection/ maybe therapy for a bit.
Later that season her sister comes back and surprise: Hermosa embraced becoming Daddy.
(These would have to be restricted to two half episodes only, she definitely deserves story arcs that aren't about her dad.)
Careerwise: she has a couple businesses, maybe a restaurant chain or a franchise and she seems to collect startups. She reinvests a lot and has to travel quite a bit but can work remotely too.
Everyone seems to want FBI agent Betty and if I'd go that route I'd have her demask Charles as the fraude fake FBI who hires guns for hire and fake emergency teams while making up fantasy horror stories about serial killer genes to scare his biological family into killing each other that I wholeheartedly believe he is. But I also like Betty's interest in mechanics and would love for her to have a career in mechanical engineering. Maybe she switched majors at uni and now works for a company developing prosthetics. Maybe she tries to get Eric into joining a study. (I mean, prosthetic legs would help his work as a fire fighter...).
She's in town to visit Polly and the twins but after talking to Veronica she spontaneously stays in town. She can do her work remotely, really. The two of them move into a two bedroom 'shared bnb' (or whatever it was called in season two) and we finally get to see their friendship on screen.
Betty isn't in a relationship at the moment abd she's so into her work, she isn't looking for one either.
Jughead had broken up with Betty seven years ago and never really had a well working relationship after. He's grown obsessed with finding a way to recreate what he had with Betty.
Not in a totally creepy psycho way, he's simply not understanding that he might be sex positive and he had been in love with Betty, but he is ace and quite aro, too. It doesn't help, that he finds people sexually attractive on their online profiles just to be repulsed by the tought of even kissing them goodbye in person.
(I don't think tv is generally a fitting medium for this, but I guess he can narrate for himself and make it work.)
I guess he has to be an author. Obsessed as he is about finding love again (he wouldn't call it like that) he figures it had either been the location or the constant fear for his life. He chooses to return to Riverdale. He probably instantly moves with everything he owns to Riverdale (not that it's much beside a modern laptop, the typewriter and his camera).
Archie gives the great advice how Jughead is obviously still innlove with Betty, duh.
He of course runs into Betty some day, they end up investigating some random murder together and find themselves in familiar positions and kiss - but it just isn't there anymore. Jughead feels nothing and Betty isn't really into it either.
Veronica later points him in the direction of maybe not being allo (because she used to question herself as aro).
Funfact: Jughead would have failed graduation with Archie if Mr Honey didn't forge some records that weren't actually submitted from Stonewall (they claim all records were deleted during a power outage). Jughead knows and is deeply shamed.
Thornhill has been renovated! Toni is pregnant! Choni will be raising their kids (surprise, it's going to be twins!) in Cheryl's ancestral home. Choni are married and happy.
Toni has reopened the White Worm with Fangs somewhere at the Southside and yes, let's make her the official Serpent Queen. Let her work lots of social causes (remember toys for tots?), grey area rule bending for good and of course she works well with Gladys. I've seen talk about her being a social worker floating around and honestly, I think that works amazing. She's working the local cases (and a few unofficial ones) and I think she and Cheryl are registered foster parents. On occasion (like once) they'd be shown taking care of a random kid.
Cheryl used her College time to study two things: business and Riverdale town history. Remember how in season two she took so much pride in her ancestors because she believed them to be good people? She might be disillusioned but she is the Blossom heiress and her and Toni's as well as Jason's kids will one day inherit a better family legacy. She'll invest in Southside rebuilding projects, advocate for new town memorials, maybe rebrand some of the Blossom product lines. Something like that
She won't run for mayor yet, but she's definitely invested in (local) politics.
Of course the pregnancy was with artificial insemination, the donor was either an unsuspecting red head from the Greendale Sperm Bank or they use some of Jason's that has surly been saved to guarantee the Blossom line when everywhere was scary talk about sperm counts going down due to mobile phones.
In addition: the maple factories need worker bees! Cheryl has a few programs with Toni to get Serpents/random Riverdalians newly released from prison or just with bad luck into a steady job and a cushy appartement overlooking the ex prison on the Southside. Pop's is also participating. Ethel works as a landlady for said appartement complex.
Also, why not add a second Blossom-Topaz lovestory to underline this incest-adjacent show and bring back Toni's grandpa and set him up with Nana Blossom. XD
Then during this season's arc, the Blossom uncle's corpse will be found in the river and the mistery is whether the FBI will figure out who the corpse us and what happened or not.
I love Reggie. Since Varchie is unlikely thanks to Eric, him and Veronica rekindling their relationship would definitely be a possibility I'm into, but he also seems to have an interesting connection with Kevin and Fangs that could be built on.
He would definitely have a car he'd love very much and I think it would still be Bella.
I'm not sure about his career, but it wouldn't include his father's car dealership. Maybe he'd be a successful movie star just in town between movie shootings.
Kevin was doing something with musicals on Katy Keene, I think? Writing or directing? He was trying to nake it big, but some plans fell through. Now he's back in Riverdale. Luckily, they are just about to open Riverdale's first theater in the relatively newly built but forever closed prison. Next to the Southside Theater the complex holds a mall and the White Worm.
Fangs works full time as the manager of the WW that he co-owns with Toni. He meets Kevin again once he's back in town.
Sweet-Pea somehow ended up as a junior doctor at the Riverdale hospital. He spends all of his scarce free time at the WW.
Some of the background Pretty Poisons officially work for the police now. Different than Gladys, they are actually ccccc for the positions they hold.
Peaches works as a manager for one of Cheryl's companies. She's happily married and has a kid (or something).
How long in prison do you get in the US for standing in as the head figure of a crazy pen and paper cult that has literal murders committed in his name? As a blond white dude probably just parole? So honestly, once they actually bring his case to court (and they have nothing against him because anyone could have been under the mask at any one time and people know of different gargoyle kings) he's released of all charges. No one in Riverdale actually knows though since his case took forever, Bughead had already left Riverdale and Alice didn't step up to follow the case. No one wrote about it, so no one knows. They just assume that of course the guy will be locked away forever, he's guilty.
In reality, he and Charles have bought a house somewhere in a different street of Riverdale where they aren't quite known and have adopted a couple kids.
Charles meets Alice regularly for lunch and she thinks he's this workaholic FBI agent only living for solving crime. They play a long con game I don't know the goal of.
(They have been behind the tapes even if that storyline gets totally ignored. They pretend FP being in exile is their doing, but the tape responsible was just a random security camera in the area.)
Josie's plans in New York sadly fell through (I haven't seen any Katy Keene but I want her back)
Lot's of bonding scenes with her brother Kevin who's also back in town. The two share a flat and on occasion burst into song together. Since I've already invented the Southside Theater, maybe she'd find a job there, too.
Val and Melody stayed in Riverdale aftee highschool and made careers in town for themselves. Maybe Melody at city hall and Val as a marketing specialist at the farm, Riverdale's most outstanding new grocery mart. Half of all Riverdalians don't get the controversy of the name, the others either think it's brilliant or tasteless. (Kevin for example has repressed the nemories so gard, he doesn't get it. Josie is very protective and angry at Val for working there.) The store belongs to the eccentric redhaired Eva Everafter or whatever pseudonym Evelyn can come up with to thinly hide her identity behind.
Somewhere in it I'd throw in a few lines vaguely referencing older happenings like "I still can't drink tap water" and the very first time Veronica sees Archie again after seven years she identifies him through his ab muscles.
So in short: Archie would be very dumb, everyone else is just there.
Also: Pop's would serve 50% vegan burgers and milkshakes so I could dig in with gusto.

SO.. I uhh... Got super into writing this recently. I just really liked where it was heading after part 7. Yes. Yes, I realize that literally no one asked for more of this but.. I wrote it. Might as well share it.
I warn in advance. There as a graphic and detailed fight in this chapter. Also. There is a LOT going on in this chapter. A LOT.
This is the second of four parts I have already written and waiting to go. I know, I know.. Literally no one asked for this. But you’re getting it anyway.
Warnings:
loosely canon compliant - this is the biggest warning, so if you’re into things that follow exact canon plot you are… definitely not going to like this. angst & slow burn, heavy sexual tensionstarting now, actually - this is just so everyone who started reading this thinking the smut would transpire in a hurry knows that apparently, it is not. violence / swearing & fighting, possible underage drinking and other shenanigans- look.. it’s high school. shit happens. also apparently, my ofc Alyssa uses the word fuck like all the time?…eventual sexual content / a virgin original character- this one is self explanatory. yes, i plan to write a smutty chapter in this at some point. when? i don’t rightly know. it’s got a while before we get there.
Pairing:
Andrews!Sibling OFC, Alyssa x Sweet Pea
Other Parts:

“What do you mean Hiram asked you to go cut their chains? Archie, this is not your place. They’re trying to fight back against this bullshit. Because that’s what this is, in case you’re wondering.”
“You need to make other friends. Literally anyone but them, Al.” Archie answered calmly. I glared at my brother from across the dining table. My father surprised me when he spoke up.
“You’re still friends with Jughead, right? How is that any different than your sister, being friends with Toni? Or that Fogarty kid? Or the other one, the moody one.. What’s his name?” my dad asked.
“Sweet Pea?” I questioned, taking a few more bites of my cereal. Grumbling about Hiram Lodge as I did so.
“He’s trying to help this town.” Archie muttered.
“What he’s doing is making people homeless. I bet you wouldn’t say that crap if he were trying to run anybody on this side of town out, Archie.” I snapped, pushing my chair away from the table, standing abruptly.
“Okay you two.” my father warned, glancing from me to my brother. Adding quietly, “Your sister has a point. That’s exactly why I’m going to talk to Hermione today about terminating the contract to build the housing.”
“Dad, you needed that contract.” I protested. Going quiet.
“I don’t need it bad enough to watch people gettin run out of their homes, tiny. I can find other jobs.”
“Dad..” I started, but he shook his head. Judging by the way his jaw was set, he’d made his mind up on this. I sighed, going quiet. Assuming that it was probably my fault he even made the decision that might just cost him the construction company in the first place. I think he could tell I was worried, because he caught me on my way out the door for school after Archie had stormed out, bolt cutters in hand to go and do Hiram’s bidding.
“I chose to do this on my own, okay? I just want to make sure you know that, Al.” my dad searched my face, waiting on me to give confirmation that I understood. I wasn’t entirely sure it was true, because for the past twelve hours, the fight had been ongoing between my brother and I.
“Actually, it was your mom who kind of reminded me what getting mixed up with the Lodges might bring on me. Has nothing to do with you and your brother fighting. But I wish you two would sit down and talk.”
I nodded, sighing. “I wish I knew he’d listen. But he’s changed so much since he started taking up with Hiram…” I shook my head. For the first time ever, I was actually kind of disappointed with my big brother.
If he weren’t under Hiram’s thumb right now, I have no doubt in my mind he’d either be helping Jughead with their protest, or he’d be doing everything he could to call attention to the issue.
“I know. Happens sometimes, tiny. All we can do is hope this whole thing is a phase and it doesn’t backfire on him. Be there for him when it does backfire.” my dad advised, pulling me into a hug.
As I went to step out, my dad tossed a brown bag towards me and I caught it. He smiled and shrugged. “Pretty sure when your friends get to school today, they’re gonna be starving. FP said they hadn’t eaten since 8 last night. This was some kinda hunger strike. Tell Fangs to share the bacon. I know he’s a growing guy, but shit.”
I laughed and smiled, doubling back to hug my dad. Really giving him a good squeeze.
“I love you too, kid. Now you need to get going.” my dad laughed when the hug broke, walking to the door and leaning in it, watching me til I got to the end of the street.
I spotted Cheryl waiting at our usual spot as of late and I made my way over. Opening the bag and letting her take out a biscuit. “Dad sent food for the others. That is, if Hiram doesn’t insist that my brother, idiot he is, escort them all straight to the police station.”
“Has your mother gotten back to you at all on the legality of what Ms.McCoy did before she stepped down as mayor?” Cheryl asked. I shook my head. Watching the sidewalk from the direction that Toni, Fangs and Sweet Pea normally came from intently.
“Where are they?”
“Toni texted me a few minutes ago. They’ll be here.”
“So Hiram didn’t make my brother and the other guys on the wrestling team take them to the station? Because if he thinks for a second I won’t dig into my college fund to post bail, my brother’s a bigger idiot than I ever imagined. Because I will.”
Cheryl was smiling at me. Giving a soft laugh as she bit into the biscuit she’d taken from the bag in my hands. “ Take deep breaths, lioness.”
I took a deep breath, deadpanning at Cheryl, “Happy?”
“It will suffice.” Cheryl’s grin broadened when she caught sight of Toni.
I let out a ragged breath when I saw our friends heading our way, fuming in anger. Sweet Pea seemed to be the angriest, arguing loudly with Jughead and Fangs about how they should’ve just let him go and not held him back or tried to stop some fight.
Toni, Fangs and Sweet Pea came to a stop in front of Cheryl and I. I held out the bag to Toni and she grabbed it, not wasting a single second. Grabbing a biscuit and groaning as she practically inhaled it. Then grabbing a few strips of bacon. “Oh my god, I love your dad too.”
“There’s enough in there for everyone. Fangs, he said you had to share the bacon, man.” I laughed at the way this made Fangs pout a little.
I stopped in front of Sweet Pea who was still angry, almost shaking at this point. I grimaced at the bruise forming on his jaw. Stepping a little closer. “Are you going to eat, Hulk, or nah?” I teased, shaking the bag at him.
“I’m too fuckin pissed right now, Cherry.” Sweet Pea answered, a harsh tone. His jaw setting.
“Oh.” I muttered. I realized just how close I was standing to Sweet Pea and suddenly aware of that, I stepped away a little and let Fangs take the bag because I was tired of holding it. As we started to walk to school, I found myself walking right next to Sweet Pea all over again when Kevin Keller caught up to us and chose to walk next to Fangs, putting me in between Sweet Pea and Fangs by the time we’d all sort of formed a line.
“Kevin, don’t you own a car?” I teased gently, giving him a knowing smirk. I’d kind of picked up on the fact that he might or might not have himself a little crush on Fangs.
“It’s broken right now.” Kevin answered my question, nodding towards Sweet Pea covertly as he smirked at me. I bit my lip, glancing over at Sweet Pea as I shook my head. Because I knew what Kevin was about to assume and I knew that at best, Sweet Pea only tolerates me because of Fangs and Toni.
“Dad’s supposed to take me out to let me try getting used to driving his truck this weekend.”
“I’ll be sure to let my dad know so he’s on standby.” Kevin taunted, making me stick out my tongue at him. “I’m not that bad.”
“I’d like to agree, but I have Snapchat, so I know about your driving. I saw the go-kart thing. I had no idea you could make a go kart drift, if we’re being honest. You drive like a lunatic, woman.” Kevin taunted. I pouted at him, folding my arms. “I do not! I just wanted to win.” I pretended to be annoyed, holding my hand up at him.
Sweet Pea’s hand brushed against my other hand and I glanced down. Curling my pinkie around his. Giving it a squeeze. I didn’t dare to look up at him as I did this, of course. When he didn’t pull away, I didn’t either.
He was upset. I considered him a friend. I tried to tell myself that my hopes in doing what I was doing were to calm him down. Nothing more.
But deep down, I was starting to realize that this might not exactly be the case. That maybe I felt things…
Things I knew he’d never feel in return.
Things I knew I needed to get over.
XXX
He bit his lip when he felt her finger curl around his. A glance over at her revealed that she wasn’t even looking at him, instead, she was buried in something Kevin was showing her on his phone. He’d almost swear that she didn’t even realize she’d grabbed hold of his finger again, but then, she gave it a little squeeze a few seconds after she glanced up from Kevin’s phone.
She still hadn’t looked at him. Or let go of his finger.
Every part of him knew he should let go but he didn’t want to. And he kept telling himself that more than likely, it wasn’t anything more than just her, trying to be a friend because he was madder than hell and it was obvious.
Oh but he wanted it to be so much more than that.
Their sides brushed again and his breath caught in his throat a little.
Fangs had a good point the night before when they’d been talking. It was getting harder and harder to hide the way he felt.
The fight he’d gotten into with Alyssa’s brother came back to him and he used Archie’s words as a reminder as to why he needed to forget the way he felt.
Because Archie did have a fair point when he pointed out that Sweet Pea wasn’t good enough for her and sooner or later, Alyssa spending so much time around them was going to get her in serious trouble or worse yet, hurt somehow.
But then what Fangs and Jughead both insisted the night before came back to him too and their advice made him want to fight. To act on the way he felt. To prove her brother wrong. To be with her. Be the guy who made her laugh. The guy she cuddled up with on a rainy Saturday to watch her horror movies. The one she came to when she was hurt or scared or just needed him.
They were making their way across the parking lot and she still hadn’t let go of his finger. To be fair, he hadn’t let go of hers yet, either. The connection was keeping him calm. Giving him other things to think about beyond the way he wanted to lose his entire mind over the fact that he was losing everything and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
He felt powerless. He hated the feeling.
But the way she linked her finger through his and left it there gave him something else to focus on for a change.
And now, thanks to it, all he could think about was just how hard it was getting to keep his feelings himself.
“Alyssa?”
“Yeah, Kev?”
“Are you going out for the play? Come on, you have to.” Kevin pleaded.
Alyssa mulled it over, shrugging. About to shake her head before Kevin frowned. “You have to.”
“I’m not good at the whole getting up in front of people crap. We’re lucky I can manage cheering at the games without freaking out, Kev. Or have you forgotten the fairy debacle from Kindergarten?”
“It wasn’t that bad!” Kevin was giving her the pleading face.
“Kevin. I left the stage and ran to my dad. In front of the entire school.” she shook her head, laughing. “I don’t think it’s a good idea. Besides, me singing? The sound of cats dying. I am not going to put people through that.”
“Oh come on.”
“Nope. Not happening, man.” she shook her head, smiling.
“Toni and I are thinking about it.” Cheryl spoke up.
Toni raised a brow, laughing as she nodded. “Thinking is the key word here, babe.”
Sweet Pea took a deep breath. Willing himself to either let go of her finger first or push things a little further. Maybe grab hold of her hand. Or brush his hand against her hand. He grumbled in frustration when he couldn’t make himself do either thing.
After a second or two, he managed to find a way to graze his hand against her hand and make it seem as if it were an accident. To his surprise, before he could pull his hand away, she’d linked her fingers between his.
She glanced up at him for a second or two, licking her lips. Giving his hand a little squeeze. They were almost to the doors of Riverdale High by this point. He figured she’d let go of his hand, but she hadn’t yet.
Everyone else split off, going to their own classrooms. He let go of her hand to push open the door, letting her step into the room as he held it open, letting it close behind him. As they took their assigned seats, she sank down in her chair, digging around in the pocket of her jeans.
Holding out a pack of chewing gum to him. Sweet Pea took a stick of the gum, unwrapping it. Popping it into his mouth.
After opening the text books, their teacher spoke up, addressing the class.
“We’ll be doing a bit of a different assignment. We’ve been studying genetics and I feel that it would be interesting to give this a try. You’ll be given dice.”
Sweet Pea chuckled when one of the other Serpents in class with them muttered an audible, “Finally, somethin I fuckin know about.”
Mr. Keaton glared at the other Serpent, silencing him. And then Mr. Keaton continued. “You will then roll these dice to determine what physical traits that offspring between yourself and your lab partner would inherit. You will chart the results and write a detailed summary. If you choose, for extra credit, you may draw this offspring.”
Sweet Pea coughed, shifting around in his seat awkwardly. Because all this entire project brought to mind for him was a mental replay of a particularly dirty dream he’d had about Alyssa not too long ago. The silent acknowledgement that he felt this magnetic pull to her and the harder he fought it lately, the more it refused to stay buried. The way it felt when her finger curled around his or the way it felt when he’d taken hold of her hand on their walk to school.
Every single touch, accidental or otherwise as of late.
Alyssa fidgeted a little herself, he noticed. He found himself wondering if she was fidgeting because she was suddenly regretting being paired with him for the term, or if she was fidgeting for the same reason he’d been fidgeting.
,, There’s absolutely no way she’s into me.” his mind taunted.
Mr. Keaton passed out dice and once they’d gotten their dice and the list of physical traits that Mr. Keaton compiled they’d be rolling for, Sweet Pea cleared his throat.
“Wishing you’d made a fuss about now, hm? Gotten switched to work with no brains over there?” he said it only half jokingly.
“Why? Are you?” Alyssa asked, gazing over at him, a brow raised. Laughing softly. “It’s just an assignment, Sweet Pea. And you’re not like.. You’re not a leper or something. I mean, I could do a lot worse.”
“If you’re fine with it, what the hell.” Sweet Pea shrugged, chuckling to himself quietly. Trying to fight back the sliver of hope that chose that exact moment to rise to the surface. The fact that she wasn’t switching, while surprising, didn’t necessarily mean anything. He had to keep reminding himself of that.
From the back of the classroom, Reggie spoke up. “Mr. Keaton, I’ve been thinkin… Maybe I should switch partners with Sweet Pea.”
Sweet Pea tensed.
When he knew Alyssa wasn’t looking, he shot Reggie an angry glare.
Reggie smirked at him, daring him to say something.
Mr. Keaton looked from pair to pair, rubbing his chin. “Amanda? Alyssa? Would either of you want to switch?”
Mandy was just about to speak up. He felt Alyssa tense up beside him and heard her mumble to herself, “Not today, Satan..” as she turned in her seat, giving Mandy an angry glare.
Mandy glared right back at Alyssa before giving their teacher the sweetest smile she could muster. “I’d love that, Mr. Keaton. Reggie’s an idiot. I’m sure even that Serpent is so much smarter.”
“The Serpent has a name, bimbo. You wouldn’t like it if I only called you bimbo, right?” Alyssa whirled around in her seat to snap at Mandy before she could stop herself. “Anyway, Reggie’s no stupider than you. Kind of a perfect fit if I do say so myself.”
Sweet Pea rolled his eyes at Mandy, but he cleared his throat, tapping Alyssa’s shoulder so she’d turn around before she got into trouble. He found himself super focused on the way she got heated just now because Mandy hadn’t bothered saying his name.
“If he makes me switch, I swear to god, I’m unleashing my wrath.” Alyssa grumbled to herself. Making Sweet Pea take a shaky breath or two.
Why did this matter so much?
Sweet Pea found himself a little surprised. He honestly thought she’d be jumping at the chance. He assumed she’d be happy to get away from him.
“Alyssa? Your thoughts on the matter?” Mr. Keaton questioned.
“ Nope. I refuse to have that absolute pig be the father of my non-existent children, sir. I’m fine where I am.” Alyssa answered, turning to shrug at Reggie as she said it.
Reggie pouted a little.
Sweet Pea smirked, shrugging at Reggie when their eyes met. Reggie glared at him, finally turning around when Mandy cleared her throat.
“You could’ve switched, Cherry.”
“ I realize this. But I didn’t want to.” Alyssa answered, finally meeting his gaze. Biting her lip. “Unless you wanted me to switch?”
“No, no. Fuck no.” Sweet Pea’s answer tumbled out in a rush. Alyssa laughed softly, managing a little smile. “In that case, we should probably get started. This is a pretty long list. Oh, while I’m thinking about it.. We’re trying to avoid my shitty eyesight, red hair and skin that burns at even a hint of sunlight.” she muttered, glancing over at him.
Sweet Pea caught himself doing it again, getting caught up in her eyes. Staring like an idiot. He nodded. “Okay, since we’re going there, Cherry. We’re trying to roll with the hopes that this kid doesn’t knock their fucking heads off every time they walk through a door.”
“I mean, it’s better than climbing shelves and counters to reach things your idiot brother puts out of your reach deliberately, but hey.. Go off I guess.” she teased gently, smiling at him. Holding out the dice.
“You roll first. I am.. Not good at dice.” Alyssa pleaded. Sweet Pea chuckled and shook his head. “Oh no. No, you first.” he smirked at her, he couldn’t resist it.
Alyssa pouted but took the dice and rolled.
“Okay, so.. Doubles..” Alyssa announced when both the dice settled on the side with one dot.
“Twins.” Sweet Pea consulted the list. “We were rolling for a number of offspring just then, right?” he asked.
“They better have given me good drugs.” Alyssa joked, filling in the chart. “I’ll roll for one, you can roll for the other?” she asked. Sweet Pea nodded. Silently hoping to god she hadn’t noticed him staring yet again. He answered in a daze, “Yeah.” as he took the dice to roll again. This time they were rolling for hair color.
“You better roll again, sir. Remember? We’re trying to avoid red hair.” Alyssa nodded to the dice settled on the top of the desk between them.
“Actually, no. I’m not. You are, but I’m not.” Sweet Pea smirked, the smirk growing when he saw her pout a little about it. “Deal with it, Cherry.”
“Well, we’re off to a great start. Can’t even agree on hair color.” Alyssa teased, noting that they’d gotten the red hair trait from her.
She took the dice back. “Come on dark brown and functional brown eyes..” she muttered, smiling when she rolled for Sweet Pea’s eye color, but scowling a little when she managed to roll that yes, they’d have vision trouble. “Poor kids.” she shook her head, laughing. Holding out the dice to him.
Sweet Pea had been in a daze yet again. Luckily, he managed to pull himself out of said daze when she placed the dice in his hand. He rolled. Grumbling when he got himself for the height gene.
The bell rang a few seconds later. Alyssa gathered her books and started for the door. Sweet Pea caught up to her. “Wasn’t so bad.” he mused. Carefully.
Alyssa smiled, shaking her head. “No, it wasn’t.” hiding a laugh as Reggie and Mandy made their way past in a very heated and angry argument. She nudged Sweet Pea, nodding towards them. “Some people should never be allowed to procreate.”
“They really shouldn’t.” Sweet Pea answered, swallowing down a lump as it formed in his throat. Letting his gaze linger for a few seconds. “Hey, if you want.. We can finish this tonight at the Wyrm.”
“You’d be okay with me showing up at the Wyrm.” Alyssa eyed him carefully.
He shrugged. “It’s not any different than all the times you came with Toni.”
“I’ll be there, then. Oh and Pea?” Alyssa turned back to look at him. He chuckled. “What?”
“Your name is coming off the top of the Mortal Kombat leaderboard. Tonight. Better bring your A game, sir.”
He bit back a groan at what she said. There was just something about the look in her eyes just now.. Teasing and playful… that combined with her calling him Sir definitely gave him a reason to need the walk to his next class.
Because he needed to pull himself together. He needed to get his head around everything and more importantly, he needed to really stop and think if he wanted to keep fighting whatever was starting to happen between them.
Because he’d been fighting it since he’d seen her around town for the first time. And he just couldn’t anymore.
Fangs caught up to him. “Didn’t you hear me yellin at you, man?”
“I was thinkin.”
“About?”
“Maybe you were right. About what we were talking about last night?”
Fangs smirked. “You’re gonna go for it?”
“I want to. Doesn’t mean I will. But I can’t keep saying I don’t.. Ya know.. When I do. Because it’s driving me fucking insane, man.”
“Want her?” Fangs filled in the blank, snickering when Sweet Pea gave him a dirty look but nodded. As they made their way into class and took their usual seats in the back, Fangs leaned across the aisle. “For what it’s worth… I think she’s into you, man.”
“Yeah. I doubt that.” Sweet Pea looked at his best friend as if Fangs were losing his mind. He wished that were true. He wanted it to be true. But he doubted that it was.
“You’re blind.” Fangs chuckled, turning his attention to the note Kevin had slipped into his locker. Chuckling and rubbing his chin in thought as he debated on what his response was going to be.
XXX
Practice had just ended. I made my way over to my locker in the girls locker room and I opened the door, thinking I’d grab the clothes I bought to change into after practice. Clothes that were nowhere to be found.
I grumbled to myself, annoyed. A quick glance around the locker room put me onto the fact that Mandy and her little army of skanks were circled up, looking at me. Whispering and laughing. Mandy was bold enough to call out, “Missing something, are we?” as she held up my clothes, laughing… Slinking over to the door that lead into the hallway.
Tossing my clothes right out in the middle.
I turned and glared at her. “You bitch.”
“Aw, are you upset right now? What are you gonna do, Alyssa? Go cry to big brother? Go sic your Serpent trash loverboy on me? I’m so so so scared.” she nudged her friend Kaylie. “I bet she doesn’t do anything. I bet she just sits there and fumes like usual. I’m surprised she had the nerve to call me a bimbo earlier in class if we’re being honest.” Mandy smirked as she said it, glancing at me. Nodding towards the door.
“If you want your clothes, sweetie, they’re right there! All you have to do is go get them…. Unless you’re afraid? Don’t flatter yourself, Alyssa. Nobody wants to see you in your underwear. Absolutely no one.”
I clenched my fists and took a deep breath or two. Mandy and her friends were all staring at me, waiting. Gazing from the hallway, where my clothes were piled up, back to me. Smirking and laughing because they were starting to think Mandy was right. That I wasn’t going to do anything. That I’d just turn and ignore Mandy’s attempts to goad me into a confrontation and shove down all my anger like I usually did.
,, she wants you to turn the other cheek like you’ve been doing until lately. If you do that, you’re basically telling her she can get away with this crap.” the thought came and rather than shove it out in favor of being the bigger person, I leaned into it.
Because today was not the day and I was not the one.
I stood and walked out into the hallway. Right as the bell to dismiss final class for the day rang and the hallway was starting to flood with students. One of them being Sweet Pea. We locked eyes as I walked past, calmly going to the Riverdale crest on the floor that she’d tossed my jeans in the center of. Bending to pick up my jeans. Sweet Pea’s arm shot out.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing, out here like that, Cherry? Have you lost your mind entirely?”
“Nope. I’m getting my fucking clothes. Since Mandy the thundercunt scattered them all over the hallway.”
Sweet Pea growled quietly, his fists clenching and unclenching. He took off his Riverdale polo, holding it out to me, but I shook my head, biting my lip and smirking as I did so. “Oh no. No.. see, if I don’t do something major now, she’s never going to fuck off. So thanks but no. Now put your shirt back on before you get in trouble.”
Sweet Pea eyed me. Shaking his head. I tapped my foot impatiently, holding his gaze. “Sweet Pea… Put the goddamn shirt back on. I know what I’m doing, okay? This is to prove a point.”
“What good is that gonna do when you’re caught by a teacher and you wind up in detention, huh? Take the fucking shirt, Cherry. Take it now.” Sweet Pea used his firmest tone, but I was too angry. It didn’t do anything to me.
“Put the shirt back on, Sweet Pea. Now.” I muttered firmly. A hand on my hip. “Do it. I’m willing to stand here until a teacher spots me if that’s what it’ll take to keep you from doing something that we know might get you expelled.”
“Goddamn it.” Sweet Pea gave up arguing, finally realizing I wasn’t going to budge one way or the other. Not until I’d done what I came out to do. And the less he argued with me, the quicker I could get it done and get back in the locker room.
I spotted my favorite Motley Crue crop tee near the girls bathroom. And totally zoned out, so angry that I was actually shaking a little, I paid not one single bit of attention to the fact that a few people were staring.
I was too pissed to be embarrassed and that is probably a good thing. Because if I wasn’t so pissed, I’d have wanted the floor to open and swallow me whole.
I spotted the red and black plaid shirt I’d been wearing over my tee shirt hanging over the rim of a garbage can and I calmly walked over, plucking it out. With my clothing gathered, I went to step back in the locker room, ignoring the one or two whistles and the Ghoulie who felt the need to comment something so gross that I debated heavily on walking over and twisting his dick in my hand until it twisted off.
I flung the door of the locker room open wide and when I did, it connected with Mandy’s face because she’d been standing there. Probably recording the whole thing to post on her socials later.
Because that’s totally something girls like her do for funsies.
She stumbled back, holding her nose as blood began to slowly pool between her fingers. And before she had a chance to react, I was slamming her against the lockers immediately to the right of the door. My forearm against her throat to hold her there.
“You’re going to erase whatever video you just recorded. Don’t fucking test me, you diseased thundercunt. Erase the video. I know you recorded the whole thing.”
“You little bitch, you broke my nose!” Mandy slammed her head into mine, causing me to drop my forearm from her throat and grab for my own nose. Once she was free, she threw a punch. I ducked it and came up swinging. Connecting with her jaw. And before she could even recover from the punch, I was grabbing her by the hair and shoving her head at the locker door.
She charged at me, knocking me on the ground. I grabbed hold of her face, trying to go for her eyes and once she was trying to block that, I flipped it and reversed it so that I was straddling her hips now. The first thing I did was grab hold of her phone and throw it on the floor a few feet away as hard as I could. When she tried to reach up and choke me, I choked her back and she rolled us so that she was on top this time. Fists were flying again. The benches that ran the middle of the locker room were being moved out of place. Lockers were being hit as we made full use of the floor in the girls locker room.
Her friends tried to rush over to help but Veronica and Cheryl stopped them from getting close as Cheryl called out to me, “Get her! It’s about time!” and she told Veronica firmly, “Lock the doors. Nobody gets in or out. Amanda has had this coming for a while now.”
Veronica nodded, locking the door to the locker room. Betty held off Mandy’s friends with Veronica and Cheryl’s help. Determined to let the fight keep going. At least until one of us or the other calmed down.
I stood up, pulling Mandy off the floor. Pulling her towards the showers.
Turning on the water full blast and as cold as I could get it. Shoving her into it and as soon as I had her cornered, I leaned down to her level. Grabbing hold of her white and yellow Riverdale Vixens ringer that now had blood spattered on the front of it.
“You better hope that video got erased, Mandy, or this is just a preview of what your life’s gonna be like, honey.” I said it quietly and calmly. “And if you think for even a second about messing with me again… Remember this.”
“You’re actually insane.. You crazy little bitch. Just wait. I’ll get back at you. This isn’t over, Alyssa.”
“Oh, I’m counting on that, you diseased mega skank.” I shrugged as I walked away from her, facing her. My middle finger up in the air. “You might want to clean yourself up, Amanda. We can’t have anybody thinking we were up to no good in here, now can we?” I challenged.
A teacher was pounding on the door and it started to click into place what I’d just done. I sank down on the nearest bench, panting to catch my breath. Trying to calm down. Letting the anger and everything subside.
Cheryl made her way over, Veronica and Betty in tow. Stopping to unlock the door as they went. Whatever Cheryl told the teacher had the teacher satisfied that nobody was up to anything bad in the locker room and leaving and once they had, Cheryl shut the door quickly. Leaning against it with her hand over her heart. “Whew. That was so close.”
Veronica sank down on the bench in front of me, the first aid kit we kept in the locker room open and across her lap.
“This is going to hurt, Al. I’m sorry in advance.” Veronica winced as she started to apply hydrogen peroxide to the few scratches on the side of my face and cheek.
All I could do was nod. Because I was still coming down from the adrenaline.
“If she messes with you again after this, she’s clearly an idiot.” Veronica spoke up after a few seconds. I shrugged. “Oh, she’s not done with me yet. But it’s okay.”
“I’m sorry we couldn’t stop it before all hell broke loose.” Cheryl spoke up, wincing as I looked up at her and laughed it off, shaking my head. Trying to flinch away from Veronica as she came at my face with a cold and damp washcloth to clean the blood away from underneath my nose.
“Cheryl, trust me. I’m fine. I can handle myself. You guys were trying to count the votes, it’s not a big deal. Besides. I needed to stand up for myself.”
“I know, but if I’d been in here, I could’ve stopped her.” Cheryl butted in, gently but firmly.
“I should’ve stood up to her way before now, if I’m being honest. Take the high road, they said. It’s better in the long run, they said. That’s a load.” I grumbled.
“Ouch fuck ouch hey.. Can you wipe less painfully?” I pleaded with Veronica.
She grimaced and muttered an apology.
“I can’t wait to hear about this crap later. Or try explaining it to my dad and Archie. Archie’s going to take the chance to spin this so that somehow, it’s anybody’s fault but mine.” I grumbled, shaking my head, disgusted at the thought.
“He’s just being a protective brother.”
“I wish sometimes he’d not do that.. So much. Did you know that he just stood back and let Reggie and Sweet Pea fight earlier when the team went to cut everyone loose?”
“I’m still angry with my father about that.” Veronica muttered, adding a second later, “But, that’s typical of him, though. He’s not happy until he owns everything and everyone.” Veronica fumed, shaking her head with a disgusted look on her face.
I bit my lip, nodding. Keeping my own opinions on the subject to myself. Because it’s not like she can control what her parents choose to do. And she tries to be better, she tries to make it so that there’s a very clear and obvious difference between herself and her parents, but with parents like hers, you wind up having to get your hands dirty sooner or later.
I’d just finished getting dressed and stepped into the hallway, finding Sweet Pea leaning against the wall.
“What the fuck was going on in there?”
I shrugged.
Mandy walked past with her friends and Sweet Pea looked from Mandy back at me. Grimacing as he caught sight of my face. Stepping closer.
“Did she do that?” he eyed me in concern. Tensing up a little. The soft edge to his voice had my heart fluttering a little, but as fast as that started, I was quick to shove it down. Reminding myself that Sweet Pea only tolerated me because we happened to share two friends in common. His hand raised, gingerly touching at a bruise forming along my jaw. Hissing as he shook his head. I tensed a little because now that the adrenaline was completely gone and the shock I’d been in or whatever for the duration of my fight was wearing off too and now everything just plain hurt.
“Mhm.” I answered quietly, swallowing down a lump as it formed in my throat. Gazing up at him. I blinked when my body brushed up against his, not aware that I’d stepped closer to him.
“Did you do.. All that?” he nodded to where she stood at her locker in the hallway, glaring daggers in my direction, her friends flocking her.
“I hope you’re prepared to pay for Amanda’s broken nose, you crazy witch.” Kaylie called out calmly. “Her mother is going to make sure you pay for the fight.”
Mandy smirked at me. “I can’t wait to tell my mother everything. I’m almost as excited to talk to her about the way you’ve been bullying me as I am to post the video of you wandering the hallway of our high school in underwear.”
I tensed, taking a step away from Sweet Pea and forward in the hallway. Sweet Pea reached out quickly, grabbing me up and away by my hips. Putting me behind him as he eyed Mandy calmly. “You really don’t value your life at all, do ya?”
Mandy eyed him, gulping.
“It’s a simple question, Mandy.” Sweet Pea shrugged, smirking a little.
“What are you gonna do, Serpent? I can make one call and have you arrested.”
I growled from behind Sweet Pea. “Try it you fucking gremlin. Try it.” I threatened.
“Enough.” Sweet Pea’s tone was calm and firm as he looked from Mandy to me, folding his arms over his chest. I went quiet and Mandy’s lip quivered a little as she gazed up at him.
“What you’re gonna do, Mandy… Erase whatever you recorded. If you don’t, you’re really not going to like what happens.” Sweet Pea stepped closer to her, giving a menacing scowl as he towered over her.
Just the way he said it had a slow and lazy heat settling in the pit of my stomach. Had my breath catching in my throat because of just the tone he took… You’d think he was my actual boyfriend. He was acting more like one than any of my past boyfriends, Reggie included.
If I were more hopeful, I’d almost want to say he meant every word of the threat he made to Mandy.
Mandy hurried off and Sweet Pea turned, settling his gaze on me. Eyeing my nose critically and grimacing. “It’s not broken. What the hell happened?”
“She was practically leaning against the damn door so when I threw it open, it hit her in the nose. She went to swing at me, I threw her against a locker… Then it kind of spiralled out of control from there?” I shuffled my feet, going fidgety under his intent and concerned gaze.
“Who locked the door?” Sweet Pea asked, admitting a few seconds later, “I tried the handle when I saw Mrs. Ellis heading for the locker room. I heard all the yelling and every time somebody hit a locker or the wall, so I figured something was going on in there… I was gonna warn you...”
“Oh, that was Cheryl. She wasn’t going to risk anybody going to get a teacher to come in and break it up.” I gave a soft laugh, shaking my head. I nodded towards the doors at the end of the empty hallway.
“We should probably get going. The last place I want to be locked in overnight is here.”
“Yeah, I was waiting on Fangs, but apparently, he ditched me.” Sweet Pea shrugged. I raised a brow, because that wasn’t like Fangs. Usually if he said he’d be somewhere, he was there.
“I haven’t seen him since lunch, come to think of it.” I spoke up after a few seconds.
“He probably bailed. He’s probably already at the Wyrm.” Sweet Pea shrugged. I nodded, agreeing.
“So.. ready?” I asked. Trying my best not to get my hopes up. Preparing myself for Sweet Pea to suggest going to my dad’s or to Pops instead of going to the Wyrm. Shocked more than a little bit when Sweet Pea smirked and nodded.
“Yeah. Just so you know, Cherry… If you think for one second you’re wiping me off the leaderboard, not gonna happen.” he chuckled as we walked down the hall and he paused to push the door open for me.
About halfway to the Wyrm, my hand brushed against his. I glanced down, biting my lip. Debating heavily on just grabbing hold of his hand.
Because friends held hands, right?
I mean.. I held hands with Cheryl and Toni all the time.
Except deep down, I knew that was not even remotely the real motive behind holding Sweet Pea’s hand. The simplest truth was that I just… Couldn’t stop myself from doing something. Anything.
I took a deep breath and carefully, I slipped my hand into his. Gazing down for a second or two after I’d done it. Shocked I’d actually had the damn nerve to go through with it. Even more shocked when Sweet Pea didn’t immediately scowl, tense up or let go.
Instead, his fingers laced with mine.
And like this morning, neither of us really mentioned it. But that tension that seemed to hang around us like a heavy cloud recently?
It got so very much thicker.
He pushed open the door to the Wyrm and I stepped under his arm, into the building. He stepped in behind me, nodding to a table with two chairs towards the back. Where it was a little quieter.
“We should be able to get everything finished back there, Cherry.”
I nodded. My eyes darted around. Finding it odd that the same people staring at me currently never even gave me a second look when I wandered in with Toni and Fangs.
I shoved the thought out of my head.
We were just two classmates.. Two friends.. Meeting to finish an assignment for school.
We made our way to the back of the bar, taking a seat at the table. At one point, while we were deep in rolling and making notes for the chart we’d been given and for our report we’d have to write later, FP wandered past.
“That’s good kid. Nice to see you actually takin school seriously. Don’t give Alyssa a hard time, buddy.” he flashed Sweet Pea a smirk and Sweet Pea nodded. Smirking right back at FP.
“People are looking at us like you’re doing something wrong.” I leaned in and whispered when I just couldn’t take the way people were watching like a hawk anymore and it had me curious.
Sweet Pea glanced up and around, shrugging. “ Most of the older guys think it’s impossible to be friends with a girl and won’t bring one around unless they’re involved with her. Is it bothering you?” he gazed at me, that concerned look in his eyes again.
I shook my head profusely. Taking a sip of the wild cherry pepsi that FP had brought over to us to drink earlier and wanting to kick myself for even mentioning it, because I had a feeling I’d probably just made things awkward.
And that was the very thing I was trying to avoid.
We finally finished rolling for genetic traits and I finished up the sketch I’d been doing.
“Okay. If you laugh I swear to God.” I gazed at Sweet Pea nervously as I shoved the sketch pad across the table to him.
“Did you just do this?” he asked, staring at the sketch.
“Yeah. I’m not the best.”
I reached for the sketch pad. But not before it flipped a few pages and settled on a drawing I’d done of Sweet Pea when he hadn’t been paying attention one day while we were all hanging out in here, playing the Mortal Kombat arcade game.
Lucky for me, he saw that I’d done sketches of Toni and Cheryl sharing a Twizzler at lunch one day and Fangs working on his motorcycle in the parking lot before school one morning. When he got to the sketch I’d done of Reggie, he scowled a little.
“I wanted to burn that too but Cheryl convinced me if I ever decided to actually get off my ass and apply to art school after I’m done with Riverdale High, it’d be good for my portfolio. She literally tried to throw herself on the fire to stop me from burning all the sketches I did of Reggie.” I laughed quietly, wincing as I shook my head.
Every time I caught myself thinking about the fact that I’d been taken in by a charming smirk and flirtatious mannerisms and the charisma of one Reggie Mantle, it only reminded me how gullible I was. How soft-hearted.
You’d think that getting involved with a guy who all but stalked me and tried to spread nasty rumors and suggestive pictures of me that I never should’ve sent in the first place when I finally got smart enough to break it off with him before leaving Chicago would be enough to teach me.
Apparently, it wasn’t. Because I came here and what’d I do? I got involved with Reggie Mantle. And now, that was over and I was starting to feel things for Sweet Pea, a guy who probably only tolerated me because we shared friends in common.
That was another huge reason I was not keen on opening myself up too quickly all over again. I might not always make the best choices, but even I had the common sense to know that I needed time… I needed to bounce back. Figure things out on my own.
And all of that was another huge reason I was determined to keep whatever I was starting to feel for Sweet Pea close to the vest. The more I could keep whatever I felt at bay, the better off I’d be. Because realistically, I just didn’t dare hope.
I was starting to realize I just couldn’t trust my own judgement when it came to emotional things. Until I got to a place where I could, I was doing the best thing I could for me.
Something tells me this is going to be so much harder than I could ever imagine though.
The door to the bar flew open and Toni barged in. Over to the table Sweet Pea and I were sitting at.
“Have you talked to Cheryl at all this afternoon?” Toni asked in a rush.
“I tried to call her earlier but it kept going to voicemail. And we were just saying earlier that Fangs is MIA too…” I rubbed my temples. I had the sneaking suspicion that I knew exactly what might have happened to Cheryl, because not so long ago, her mother had kind of caught wind of her relationship with Toni. And her mother was not thrilled.
I grumbled, digging in my jeans pocket for my phone.
It clicked for Toni that Sweet Pea and I had come to the Wyrm. Alone. Without her or Fangs present to act as a buffer.
“You’re here together, fuck. I’m sorry. I’m just.. I’m freaking out right now.” Toni glanced from me to Sweet Pea and then back again. “Are you two finally going to stop being snipey assholes and get along though?”
Sweet Pea shrugged, giving me a teasing smirk. “Maybe she’s not so bad… For a princess.”
“Maybe you’re not so bad either. For a giant grumpy asshole.” I teased right back. Feeling my cheeks burn hot just a little at the look in his eyes and the way he put emphasis on the word princess.
Because no, that did not help my current ongoing mental dilemma at all.
“You’re staying with me until we figure out this situation with Cheryl, right?” I asked Toni. Toni nodded, stealing a sip of my Pepsi. “I swear to God, if her mother’s hurt her…”
“If her mother’s done anything to her, she’s going to answer to both of us. I’ve got your back, Topaz.” I spoke up, giving Toni a reassuring look. I tried to call Cheryl again on my phone, but it went straight to voicemail too. I frowned at it, putting my phone away.
Toni eyed me and then glanced in Sweet Pea’s direction as if she were indicating that she wanted details later tonight when we were back at my dad’s place. Mouthing to me, “Well?”
I shook my head, shrugging. “We were just finishing that thing for Biology.” I mouthed. Glancing at my cell phone. I was not getting a good feeling at all. And the more Cheryl’s phone rang and went to voicemail, the more that bad feeling grew.
“It’s going to voice. He’s normally here already if he ditches.” Sweet Pea swore to himself and shook his head.
“Wait.. he got called to the office right after lunch.” Toni spoke up. Swearing when she tried to call Cheryl yet again and the call went to Cheryl’s voicemail as it had just done for me. She shoved her phone into her pocket and took a few deep breaths. “Maybe she just went to sit with her Nana. They haven’t let her out of the hospital yet, I don’t think.. That has to be it.”
The door flew open again and this time, my brother and Jughead were rushing in. Stopping to talk to a few of the other Serpents we went to school with who were present. Whatever Jughead told them had them rushing out the door in a hurry. I eyed them but quickly turned my attention back to the situation at hand involving our two missing friends. Trying to retrack the events of the day. I remembered it then, Fangs had been called to the office during lunch and after that, I hadn’t seen him again.
We had the second to last class of the day together. He hadn’t been there.
“You guys have to get out of here. Get everyone out of here and out of this side of town now. They’re about to raid the Wyrm.” Jughead and my brother rushed over to us. My brother let out a ragged breath when he caught sight of me. “Thank god. There you are. I was worried when I couldn’t find you. What the hell happened to your face, pixie?”
“It’s a long story. I’ll explain later.. You guys. Explain. What the fuck do you mean we have to get out of here? Archie, what’s going on? What have you let that jackass talk you into this time?”
“Nothing! It’s something I overheard, okay, look. I know you’re still pissed at me. But you guys need to get everyone together and get the hell off of this side of town, okay? Just trust me. Do it. I told Dad what was going on and he said that we could put people up until FP figured something out.”
Sweet Pea eyed my brother with a wary look. I eyed him too, wondering briefly if this were some kind of a trick that Hiram put him up to. Wondering how the hell he managed to get Jughead in on it if it were.
“What the hell is going on tonight?” I wondered aloud after a few seconds. Not even ten seconds later, one of the older bikers wandered in, getting a hold of FP, taking him to the back to talk.
“Are you makin this up, Andrews? Is this a trap? Because to me, that’s what it feels like.” Sweet Pea tensed. His fists clenched at his side and my brother shook his head. “No. This is me. Trying to make up for all of the other stuff, okay? Look. Hiram set the whole thing up this afternoon after he got done arranging to have Fangs arrested earlier.”
“He’s not lying. I just went down the the station, man. Fangs is there. They’re holding him for questioning and they won’t say a fucking word about why he’s even there. And while I was there, I heard some of the guys in the break room joking about how fun it was going to be, cracking some Serpent skulls tonight. If we leave now, they have nothing. They don’t get any evidence, they can’t make any arrests.” Jughead explained impatiently. “We have to go. We needed to be gone ten minutes ago, if you want the honest fucking truth, Pea.”
“Dad really said he’d let them hide in our house. You’re not lying.” I questioned my brother, gazing up at him. Standing taller. “Because I swear to God, Archie, if this is a trap.. If any more of my friends get arrested because you have a burning desire to be Hiram Lodge’s long lost son or whatever the fuck it is you want to accomplish.”
My brother cut me off. “I’ve been working undercover. I wasn’t supposed to tell you anything. I wasn’t supposed to say anything to anyone, actually. Getting close to Hiram is… for the greater good.”
“Uh huh.You mean like the actual greater good or the oh look, pops bought me a ferrari for christmas because I’m a good little fucking stooge greater good?” I questioned, a brow raised and my hand on my hip.
“Al, we can finish this argument once your friends have their shit and they’re heading back to our side of town. I’ll gladly finish this discussion then. Dad sent me and Jugs to get everyone away from here.”
“I don’t know..”
Sweet Pea cleared his throat. “I’m not saying I trust you, Andrews. But I’m willing to take what Jugs says with a grain of salt. He is one of us now.”
Toni and I exchanged a surprised look, but then everyone started to rush around and gather their things as quick as they could. And as soon as we were all out in the alley behind the Wyrm, the first of at least six police cars came flying by, blue lights flashing and sirens blazing.
I let out a ragged breath and glanced up at Sweet Pea. When I caught on to the fact that he was both angry and silently freaking out, I reached down, gently grabbing hold of his pinkie finger with mine. Giving him a weak smile when I glanced up at him.
He didn’t smile back, but as we rounded the corner and promptly had to find another alley to go down to hide because another cop car rushed past, I felt him squeeze my pinkie finger with his more than a time or two.
Almost the second we crossed over into the North Side, I realized just how eerie and quiet it was.
Too quiet.
Nobody was saying anything. We were all too tired from running. Hiding.
At one point, Toni reached down and grabbed the hand of mine closest to her, giving it a squeeze as she muttered into my ear quietly, “I hope Cheryl is okay.”
“We’ll get up to my room and figure something out, okay?” I promised in a whisper.
And on the other side of me, I felt Sweet Pea’s hand lazily close on mine. A squeeze so light that I honestly didn’t think he even realized he’d done it.
It took a few seconds, but I dared to glance down. Eyes fixing on the way his hand engulfed mine. His fingers laced between my fingers. Before I could stop myself, I dragged my thumb knuckle lazily over his palm. Gave his hand a similar light squeeze as I glanced up at Toni to pretend I wasn’t aware I’d done it.
Once we were all in my dad’s house, FP showed up. Explaining that he was currently trying to figure out somewhere everyone could go. Letting people who’d gotten separated from family during the whole scramble to leave whether their people made it and were incoming or at another place that FP had taken the other half of South Side to keep the cops from finding everyone at once or whether they’d been caught and were going to need bail.
My dad and Archie took over the kitchen with the help of FP and Jughead, making food for everyone. Once everyone else was set up and occupied and there wasn’t anything else I could do to help my dad and my brother, I went to go find Toni and we slipped out of the chaos downstairs, retreating up to my room.
The second the door was closed behind me, Toni spoke up.
“You don’t think Penelope killed her.”
“Toni, no. But I do think that she’s keeping her somewhere. Remember Cheryl telling us that she needed to tell us something important? I think that whatever she was going to tell us is the reason we can’t find her right now. Her mother makes Joan Crawford look like a fucking saint.” I fell back across my bed and stared at the ceiling. Sitting up a few minutes later.
“Hey, that girl in my English class… her mom’s a nurse. I can ask if Cheryl’s been there to sit with her nana.”
I dug my phone out and texted the girl in question. Frowning when the girl answered that she’d been there earlier, but she’d left to go home.
“She’s not there. Okay, I do not like the way this feels.”
“Me either.”
We sat in silence on my bed for a few minutes, trying to figure out a way to find out what happened to Cheryl. As I tried to think of places she might have gone or hidden at, I texted my mom about Fangs being kept at the station.
She texted me back, asking if I knew why they were holding him and I texted her back that we were trying to figure out why and we were hoping she’d call and scare someone into giving some form of an answer.
I frowned when she called a few minutes later and explained that she hadn’t been able to get anything. She asked what the hell was going on in town tonight, telling me that while she’d been talking to the secretary at the station, she’d heard a lot of yelling and angry chanting from outside. And a lot of whispering and hushed laughing.
I told her about the raid and I told her about Midge’s body being found during the school play. I told her that people had been starting rumors for whatever reason that Fangs might have done it, because Midge and Fangs had something going on.
“You’re staying out of trouble though, right? With your brother going through whatever it is he’s going through, sweetie…”
“About that.. I kind of got into a fight. But none of the teachers know. Nobody saw it.”
My mom sighed and I frowned, tensing up a little at a possible lecture incoming. When it started, I sat there with the phone away from my ear, letting her go on for a few minutes before I explained calmly, “I’m not going to stand back and be a doormat either, mom. And since Archie is doing all this and showing his entire ass, I need to take care of my own problems. Mandy was a problem, I solved it. End of discussion.”
“First of all, don’t take that tone with me. Second of all.. Does your father know? Did you tell him any of what you just told me?”
“No. I only told you what I just did to get you off my back. Mom.. I’m.. I love you and I’m sorry. I can’t be perfect and I can’t be something I’m not.”
“I’m not asking you to be perfect. I’m asking you to stay out of trouble.”
“It doesn’t feel like that though.”
We exchanged tense goodnights and goodbyes and I ended the call, tossing my phone at the top of my vanity as I flopped back against my bed.
“Ever feel like the black sheep?” I wondered aloud. Feeling bad about it after I said it, because I realized that Toni literally only had the Serpents, Cheryl and her grandfather and me. I palmed my face and shook my head, ashamed. “Sorry.”
“It’s fine. I get it. My grandpa and I argue a lot.” Toni gave me a sympathetic nod.
I shook my head at myself. “I swear, my mom and I are constantly butting heads. It’s part of the reason I never understood why she insisted I was the one to go to Chicago with her and that Archie stay here in Riverdale with Dad.”
“Probably because trust me. There are some things that men are not equipped to deal with.”
“I mean, true, but…”
Toni laughed quietly. Stretching a little. “Maybe Cheryl just wanted some space. I haven’t found anything out from anyone else.”
“All I know is what she told me before she left practice. She was going to see her Nana Rose again.”
“Yeah, she told me that too. But she’s been jumpy all day. Like she’s scared.”
“I noticed too.” I agreed, nodding. “Maybe she’ll be at school tomorrow. If she’s not, we’ll ditch and try to find answers or something.”
“Yeah. I’m too wiped to think anymore right now and if I do, I’m going to drive myself insane. And if I do that, we both know I’m going to go off and do something fucking dumb.” Toni admitted as she pulled back the cover on the other side of my bed.
“You’re cool with sharing a bed? I mean, all things considered.”
“Please,I know you have a very specific type of red-head and it ain’t me... Besides. You’re my friend. I’m not making you sleep on the floor.” I answered, gathering my things because I figured that everyone who was planning to shower tonight had probably done so already.
I made my way down the hall, reaching for the handle to the bathroom door right as Sweet Pea pulled it open from the other side. With a towel wrapped around his waist. I spun around, immediately going red in the face. “Shit, fuck. I’m sorry, I.. I thought everyone had already gotten a shower and gone to sleep?” I called out without daring to turn around and face him.
He cleared his throat. “Nah. I told Archie to go before me. I’m the one staying in your house. Didn’t want to intrude.” he tapped my shoulder when he’d pulled on his jeans and I turned around. He took a step forward to come out the door at the same time that I took a step forward to go in the door. We wound up body to body in the hallway. I gazed up at him, licking my lips.
He grimaced as his eyes settled on the bruise on my jaw from the fight earlier in the afternoon. “Did you show your dad? That looks a lot worse now.” His voice took on a concerned tone.
I shook my head. “Nope. I already had more than enough lecturing about it from my mom earlier when I called to get her to see if she could find out anything about why Fangs was arrested and being held.”
Sweet Pea raised a hand, dragging it through damp hair. A droplet of water trickled down his forehead. Then dropped onto his nose, rolling down it’s slope. When it dripped down and rolled down his lips, my eyes were glued to it’s movement. He cleared his throat, repeating the question that he’d asked me I apparently hadn’t heard. “Did she find out anything?”
“Just that they’re holding him until they have to let him go. If I had to guess though, it’s because people were saying crap about him and Midge having a thing going..” I muttered quietly. Shuffling my feet against worn wooden floorboards.
“At least you tried.” he muttered quietly, gazing down at me. His eyes darted to my bruises and scrapes from my fight with Mandy earlier and he cleared his throat. “You should go tell your dad what happened. Just in case she is dumb enough to upload anything she might have recorded and we can’t coerce her into taking it down on our own.”
“If she does, she does. Won’t be the first time something like that happened.” I blurted it out, going quiet as soon as I realized I had. Tensing a little because I really hoped that he didn’t pay it any attention. Or that he didn’t push to know what I meant.I wasn’t even sure why it slipped out. I fidgeted a little, nervous. He eyed me, but luckily, he didn’t ask for further details.
The last thing I wanted right now was for him to know exactly how stupid and pathetic I was and still am. If he knew I’d been dumb enough to sext Dave and Dave had turned and used the photos against me or any of the other shit that I got into in Chicago… I pushed the intrusive thought out of my head.
“Cherry?” Sweet Pea muttered quietly. His eyes fixing on mine. Hints of a smirk playing at his lips. As quickly as the thought came ,, he has literally no idea just how devastatingly handsome he really is, I swear to God.” I hurried to shove it out. Bury it way down deep. Try to ignore the way I felt the slightest flutter of my heart. Or the way my throat seemed to close up when I realized that we were migrating closer to each other and that his hand was brushing against my hip just barely.
“Yeah, Pea?” I finally managed to pull myself together enough to get out the words. Gazing right back up at him, falling in right over my head and virtually powerless to stop it from happening.
“Night.” he yawned as he stepped out of the doorway, making his way back downstairs. From the sound of it, my brother had dragged out one of his old gaming systems. And apparently, he and a few other Serpents were sitting up, playing some long forgotten game. I made my way away from where I’d been peering down the stairs just to make sure that things weren’t tense between everyone and I turned, slipping into the bathroom.
Turning on the hot water and leaning against the wall, letting it cascade down onto my body from above. Just… trying to process the entire craziness of the day so far.
By the time I slipped into my side of the bed, Toni was already asleep, wearing my black velvet eye mask over her eyes. I found one of my other ones and slipped it down over my eyes.
And it seemed like in literally no time, I was out like a light. Exhausted from everything that had gone down in one day.

Bioshock Rebirth Part 1 told in a humorous way
Showed this to @feckinatlas like some of the others. I had this in my draft oh wait. Yeah this is part of my Bioshock Rebirth AU, my reimagining/reboot of the Bioshock franchise. While I don’t wanna write a full on novel because I’m lazy like that. Yet I wanted to make a funny recap. Originally this would of been part 1 and 2. But I decided to keep as 1 right now.
Basically was inspired by stuff like the ByteSize recaps of The Last Of Us. So if you want to know the full story but keep it short. Despite some parts seem long and deep. Yet this is told in a humorous way. Hopefully you enjoy it. Including the night before I am uploading this. I decided to add Booker’s parts because I imagine him as a boss.
Part 1.
Archie: My aircraft was shot down and now it crashed into the ocean near this lighthouse! What the Hell is all this!? Andrew Ryan? An underwater city called Rapture? Weird looking people trying to kill me? Weird diving suit monsters with drills? Little girls holding giant needles? What the Hell is going on down here?
Atlas: Oy lad! My name is Atlas. I’m the leader of the rebellion going against Ryan. He’s an asshole and I made the distress call. We need to take Ryan down and we need your help.
Archie: Okay man who I trust and grow to admire as a father figure who reminds me of myself. Hi two ladies.
Daisy: Hey there I’m Daisy. I’m Atlas’s 2nd in command and....I guess I’m gay with Diane.
Diane: We had a weird history.
Archie: Ah no judgement there. :)
Atlas: Now we need your help rescuing this young girl Ryan has imprisoned. We don’t know why she’s imprisoned but we need to save her.
Later.
Elizabeth: I’m Elizabeth and I want to go Paris! But I’m stuck in this tower. :( But you’re real and that’s so awesome! :D
Archie: Hi Elizabeth! I’m here to rescue you!
Bluto: Who in the fuck wants her out!?
Archie: AH SHIT HE’S A BIG DIVING SUIT MONSTER!
*When they get out.*
Elizabeth: Oh my God it’s so great out here!
Archie: Oh crap I’m starting to like her.
*As they explore Rapture more.*
Atlas: Ah crap they’re working like a team! She’s using these small tears to help him out while he shoots stuff!
Elizabeth: I feel like I’m gonna lose my mind and go crazy seeing all this death and unpleasant stuff. :( Especially after meeting that Steinman guy.
Archie: You’re going to be alright. Nothing is gonna hurt you. Don’t become apathetic. We’ll get through this together. :)
Elizabeth: I feel comfortable with you. :)
Atlas: Now since that Big Daddy is dead. Put that Little Sister out of her misery!
Archie: Oh Hell no man! There has to be another way!
Brigid: Do not hurt my little ones. Hello young man and young girl. Use this thing to free them from their torment.
Archie: Ah thanks lady. :)
Atlas: Don’t trust her Arch! She’s responsible for them!
Archie: But she’s trying to help them! :(
Booker: Argh! I work for Ryan’s personal guard! You’re Atlas’s Dog. I’ll send my troopers to get that girl back. Including I’ll wonder if I should capture or kill you!
*After going around unpopulated and some populated parts in Rapture for nearly a week.*
Archie: Ah man Tenenbaum’s safehouse is pretty nice. And these Little Sisters are kids and are great. :) Yet Brigid seems weird around. Especially she looked like I looked familiar. Even Atlas did so too. And sometimes he says these three words sometimes and my head hurts.
Later.
Julie: These are my franken trees.
Archie and Elizabeth: Woah!
Later.
Cohen: I’m Sander Cohen and I’m a weird and disgusting artist guy!
Archie: Ugh I don’t like him.
Elizabeth: Me neither.
Jasmine: Hi I’m Jasmine and I’m a stripper. :)
Archie: This Jasmine lady is very nice. Glad we were able to rescue her.
Later.
Bluto: Argh! Give me back Elizabeth! I’m trying to protect her!
Archie: We need to stop the Proto-Daddy! We have to kill him.
Elizabeth: No I can’t kill the closest thing I had to a protective brother.
Archie: I understand that Elizabeth but we have to stop him or he’s gonna cause more death and destruction. I would love if there was another way. Including there’s no turning back if you have to stop him.
Elizabeth: I understand but let me be the one who has to put him down. I’m not going to enjoy this.
*Puts him through a tear that sends him into space as he falls from orbit.*
Bluto: Nooooo! You were my best friend Elizabeth!
Elizabeth: :(
Archie: I’m sorry for your loss. I’m sure he was a great friend. *Hugs her to comfort her.* You’re still a good person.
Booker: Argh! That’s it boy scout let’s fight! Why the Hell aren’t you mutating? Why are you so badass? How are you able to kill so many of my troopers with some what ease! Fight me boy scout! I’ll show you how a real soldier fights!
Archie: Okay gruff old man!
Booker: No you beat me! I just want my daughter back! She’s the only important thing in my life! She deserves better than this. :(
Elizabeth: You’re my father.
Archie: I’m not gonna kill you because while you’re an asshole. You don’t wanna hurt children and you still love your daughter. Now let’s go Elizabeth.
Later.
Atlas: Alright Arch we’re close to getting to Ryan. How about you go to Ryan and take him down. Whether you kill him or not. I’ll take care of Tenenbaum and Elizabeth since they trust me a lot. Even though with Tenenbaum she still doesn’t trust me fully.
Archie: Thanks Atlas. You’re a great friend. :) Now excuse me while me and some others go to Ryan. You can take care of the two closest people I’ve known in my life. I’m sure they will be in good hands.
Later.
Archie: It’s over Ryan!
Ryan: A man chooses. A slave obeys. A broken slave has no purpose. You’re a broken machine who’s entire life was a lie.
Archie: Bullshit. >:(
Ryan: Would you kindly? Familiar phrase.
Archie: Ah my head hurts AND OH MY GOD ATLAS KEPT USING THAT PHRASE AND I’VE BEEN SEEING WEIRD SHIT LIKE ME WANTING TO KILL YOU!
Ryan: Yes he has and you saw that Fontaine was involved in your process. Now beat me to death with this golf club so you can prove you’re just a slave.
Archie: Hell no old man! >:( *Takes the genetic key and goes back to Atlas.*
Later.
Archie: Atlas how did you know of the WYK plans?
Atlas: I don’t know what you’re talking about boyo? But hey did you know Elizabeth’s lips taste like strawberries? She tried to kiss me you know.
*Atlas gets knocked out by a wrench and Archie finds the two ladies tied up.*
Elizabeth: Oh my God you came back! I found out I was born full of ADAM!
Brigid: Yes he did thank goodness you came back. Atlas terrorized us!
Archie: I’m here to save you two from Atlas because he’s been lying to me about a lot of stuff. *His radio gets called.* Hello?
Atlas: Code Yellow. >:)
Archie: AHHHHH! I’m slowly dying and it’s more raw now! My life is flashing right before my eyes!
Elizabeth: Oh no Archie! :(
Brigid: We need help and have to find the stuff to stop him from dying! We owe it to him!
Archie: I’m slowly losing my mind! I’m dying! I’m remembering everything! Andrew Ryan! Frank Fontaine! Yi Suchong! Brigid Tenenbaum! Jasmine Jolene! the Lutece twins! Johnny Topside! What the Hell happened to me!? What is my life!? I’m remembering everyone I met in Rapture! I’m not 23 and actually 5 years old!? My name is Jack Ryan!? What the Hell happened to my life!?
After that he wakes up.
Archie: Brigid knew who I was! I’m angry! >:( She had a hand in ruining my life!
Elizabeth: Archie no! I forgave Brigid! Please don’t hurt her!
Brigid: Ah yes you’re pointing a gun on me that I made sure has no ammo. I think you finally remember everything. :(
Archie: My real name is Jack Ryan. I’m actually 5 years old. I literally was ordered to snap a puppy’s neck by Suchong. Frank was gonna use me to save Elizabeth and kill Ryan! You were one of the people responsible for ruining my life!? And you didn’t tell me when you found out it was me!? I’m not a actual human because of what you, Fontaine, and Suchong did to me! I was supposed to be a slave! What the Hell did Johnny Topside do to me!? >:O
Brigid: Yes I had a hand. But I feel great shame. You were meant to be a sleeper agent. But Johnny discovered you. He couldn’t handle the idea of someone like you going through that. So he kidnapped you, punched Suchong in the face, and he had help reprogramming you. I felt empathy as well. This happened when I realized what I did to the Little Sisters. Me and him changed your life. We gave you the name Archie. While the Lutece twins made sure you were in a place where Fontaine could never find you.
Archie: Johnny did that?
Brigid: Yet due to the experiments done on you. Along with you going through military training. You became stronger than you ever were. Yet it was your own choice to become a soldier.
Archie: Woah.
Brigid: Fontaine used Johnny’s death as propaganda. As if Johnny was the first to rebel against Ryan. In a way he did. But the truth was that all Johnny wanted for you was a normal life. In a way he was practically the real Atlas in a way. Since Atlas was inspired by him. Including some of Johnny’s traits and memories went to you in a different way. He became a slave to give you freedom. And I feel terrible that I couldn’t save him. :( You don’t have to forgive me.
Archie: I forgive you. ;_; *Breaks down crying as Brigid, Elizabeth, and the Little Sisters hug him. Because before this. He showcased he was more human than he ever was.*
Later.
Archie: We gonna stop Frank!
Atlas: Oy you fucking mistake! You were the closest thing I had to a son! You were meant to be my Ace In The Hole! Yet you didn’t kill Ryan! You got too close to Mother Goose, the Little Magician, those brats, and anyone else! Johnny Topside ruined everything! Tenenbaum betrayed! So you know what, I’m gonna take the woman you’ve grown to love! She and all the ADAM in this city are gonna make me a lot money! You are gonna die alone because you have everything I didn’t have!
Archie: Johnny Topside was more of a father than you ore Ryan could ever be! >:(
Atlas: That’s it time for the disappointment wrench! >:(
*Hits him with the disappointment wrench.*
Elizabeth: No! ;_;
Atlas: My secret is out! I gonna get the Hell out of this city! Everything’s gone busto!
Archie: We gonna save Elizabeth! He has the genetic key! We need to kill Frank Fontaine!
Daisy: We the remaining rebellion can help you!
Archie: That’s great! But I’m worried we may need some Little Sisters help to free Elizabeth! I don’t want to put them in danger.
Brigid: Don’t worry I’ll trust you and we believe in you. We’ll help however we can.
Later.
Archie: It’s okay Elizabeth! I’m coming! Holy shit Frank is that you!?
Atlas: I’m half transformed by this ADAM and using some power from Elizabeth. Now time to go mano a mano against you.
*Both men just scream battle cries at each other as they fight to the death.*
Atlas: I’m so angry at you! I’m gonna beat you to death! Meaning you can’t save this woman you’ve grown to love!
*Miranda, Sally, and some Little Sisters free Elizabeth so she can use a tear on him.*
Atlas: Ah crap! 0_0;
*Archie screams a battle cry as he stabs Atlas in the chest with a ADAM syringe and hangs him brutally down a glass ceiling. Resulting in the death of Atlas/Frank Fontaine.*
Archie: Hooray we did it! :)
Elizabeth: Yes we did it! :)
Daisy: Fontaine is dead! Ryan is gone! Let’s make Rapture a place where a community can safely live at. :)
Archie: I’m not alone anymore too. I have a family now!
*Two months of changing stuff as much as they can. Since there is the scary risk if Rapture is found by the surface.*
During that time, relaxation, relationships developing. Also this.
Jasmine: I’m sorry that I sold you for money. I know you must hate me.
Archie: I forgive you. :) I understand and you’re my birth mom.
Jasmine: Thank you. ;_; *They just hug each other.* I’m so proud of you.

Betty//...fireworks
Request: Can I request a Betty/Reader set when Cheryl is in the sisters of quiet mercy, you're with her in the conversion camp and when Toni comes to break her out you get away with them/ Betty helps you escape/adjust back to school
There’s heavy footsteps in the background of your dream and you frantically look to figure out where they’re coming from.
But you’re in a forest with two of your friends, Spongebob, your freshmen English teacher and Emma Watson...for some reason. And the footsteps don’t sound like they’re on a forest floor. They sound like they’re coming from inside a house, maybe on a carpet.
They’re getting closer and you’re starting to panic. Sweat beads on your forehead and your breath quickens and then you feel it.
Two strong hands on your shoulders.
Okay. Now you’re awake.
Your eyes snap open as your pulled from your bed.
A scream rips through your throat but as soon as it leaves, a sweaty hand is clamped over your mouth. Instantly shutting you up.
You do the next best thing to screaming. You kick, and hit and thrash about as you’re dragged from your room. Anything to make noise or get free.
You look around frantically. Trying to find anything or anyone that can help. But then you lock eyes with your mom and dad. You try to pull away from the men and call for your parents, but the mens grip tightens as you look at your parents properly. Both stood outside their bedroom door. The door is open slightly and you see boxes inside. They haven’t got pyjamas on, they’re wearing normal clothes, and there’s no emotion on their faces.
Why aren’t they doing anything? Why aren’t they trying to help. Why aren’t they stopping this? Why aren’t they calling for help? You’re screaming in your head as you look at them, a pleading expression in your eyes. Your body hurts because of the tight grip these people have on you, but that fades when you look at your dad.
‘We’re sorry.’ He mouths, just before you’re dragged down the stairs.
And the last thing you hear before you’re ripped from your childhood home is your mom, softly saying “We had to. You left us no choice. I hope you understand.”
Then, you’re thrown into the back of an unmarked van and you’re whole life changes forever.
On the cold morning of November 29th, all seemed right in Riverdale. Well, as right as can be.
Unbeknownst to the students of Riverdale High, a fellow classmate and friend has been committed to The Sisters of Quiet Mercy for ‘sins against nature...and God himself’ Whatever the hell that means.
When the Y/l/n’s were asked that morning about the sudden move, they spun some lie about your mother’s, mother being gravely ill. And when asked why their daughter wasn’t waiting in the moving van, or helping pack, they said you were saying goodbye to friends.
But in reality, you were being tied to a bed in preparation for conversion therapy.
Yep, all of this because you liked girls.
A few neighbours had reported screams, but the police showed up when your family was moving, far too late. They told the sheriff what was happening and that they’d heard no screams, and on their way they went ‘to pick you up from your friends’.
It was slightly suspicious. But Riverdale had bigger problems to deal with.
So your search and the sudden move was forgotten.
But not by everyone.
Betty Copper had been your best friend for the best part of five years.
You, her and Archie Andrews had been inseparable since the day you met the duo. You told each other everything.
Well, there was one thing each of you hadn’t told the other.
Archie hadn’t told you that he was the one that broke your favourite necklace. The one your grandmother had given to you before she died.
Betty never told Archie that she accidentally killed his pet goldfish.
And you’d never told Betty that you’d fallen in love with her over the years. And now it seemed like you never would.
So when you didn’t meet them by the corner that connected your two streets together so you could walk to school that morning, they thought it was strange.
When you didn’t turn up to school without a call or text, they thought it was odd.
And when word got out that you and you’re family had up and moved practically overnight. It was really fucking weird.
“What do you mean she’s gone?” Betty asks annoyed.
After school, Betty had dragged her boyfriend, her best friend, and her other friend to the police station and demanded to speak to the sheriff. Which just so happened to be her friends dad.
“They’ve just moved.” Sheriff Keller sighs, but Betty wasn’t having it.
“But she wouldn’t just leave without letting us know. Me and Archie are her best friends. She would have at least text us. But nothing. And she isn’t replying to any of our texts or calls. Something isn’t right her.”
“I don’t know what you want me to say. We got a call early this morning about some screaming. We checked it out at about 6 this morning and the Y/l/n’s were packing. I asked where they were going, they said Mrs Y/l/n’s mother was sick. When I asked where Yn was, they said she was saying goodbye to some friends. And then off they went.”
“And that didn’t seem suspicious to you?” Archie asks.
“Yeah. That doesn’t seem like her.” Kevin adds. “She would have text them.”
“Wait.” Betty interrupts. “You said her mom said her mom was sick?”
“Yeah?”
“Her grandmother on that side of the family died when she was 11.” Betty says and an eery silence took over the room.
“What?”
“Yeah. She gave her a necklace just before she died. It was the one Archie broke.”
“You knew?” Archie asks, now very confused and a little upset.
“Of course I knew. She did too. She just never said anything because it was around the time...your goldfish died.” She trails off, playing with her fingers.
“Oh.” He sighs, unsure of what to say next.
“Anyway. She didn’t say goodbye to me. Did she say goodbye to you?” She asks Archie and he shakes his head. “Did she say goodbye to either of you?” She directs her question to Jughead and Kevin and they both shook their heads. “Now are you going to do something?”
“Sorry Betty.” Sheriff Keller shrugs. “We already have enough to deal with. From gangs selling drugs to a masked killer. Is it odd? Yes. But is there also a reasonable explanation to each and every thing? Yes. She’s ignoring you to make it easier to leave. Her mom got upset and just got confused. And maybe she has other friends to say goodbye to. Or maybe thats what she told her parents she was doing, when instead she was sneaking off to say goodbye to a boyfriend.”
“Bu-”
“Kevin?” He looks at his son for help and he nods, grabbing her arm.
“Come on. We’ll go back to yours and figure this out.” He leads her out of the room with Archie and Jughead following quickly.
“Something isn’t right.” She says, looking at each of them.
“We know.” Archie agrees.
She was going to figure this out, even if it killed her.
------
Three weeks. It had been three weeks since the Y/l/n’s had moved out of Riverdale seemingly overnight. They packed up their belongings, put their house on the market and left. No explanation, no goodbye’s, nothing.
And three weeks you had been in that hell hole. With the itchy uniforms, scary nuns and middle aged practices.
It had been torture. Literally.
And you weren’t sure how much more you could take. It seemed as if the entire world had forgotten about you. Betty hadn’t. She’d been trying to figure out where you’d gone non-stop for the past three weeks. And everyone was starting to worry. But you didn’t know that.
At first you thought you’re parents would come back for you. That they’d realize what a terrible mistake they’d made and take you back home and you could go back to being happy again. But as the days moved on and the ‘treatments’ got more intense. You started to lose hope. But then you figured that you’re friends would find you. That Betty and Archie would track you down. But as week one, turned into week two, and then week three. You started to accept your fate. This was your present, and your future. For the foreseeable.
Being locked in a room for most of the day, made to watch shitty films that were supposed to scare you straight, forced to do hard labour, plus there was the shock therapy, (you thought that was just something that happened in the 60′s, but it was still very much happening) had its affect on you and you were slowly losing your grip on reality.
Until she turned up.
“Cheryl.” You whisper to yourself. You thought you were seeing things when you walked into the movie room. But there she was. Cheryl Blossom. Sitting on the end of a bench, with tears streaming down her face. She looked scared, traumatized. You had a feeling you looked like her, if not worse.
You never thought you would be so happy to see her. Usually if you saw her in the corridor you would roll your eyes, right now you would do anything to hug her.
Slowly, you made your way to the seat behind her, and sat down quietly.
While one of the sisters was distracted setting up the film, you took the opportunity to get her attention. If she was here, you had a chance to get out. You couldn’t get out alone, but with someone else here that you know, you had a chance.
“Cheryl.” You whisper again making her flinch at the sudden noise. You quietly curses yourself. Of course she was flinchy, you were too. “Cheryl.” You say, less rushed. “Its me, Y/n.”
“Y/n?” She replies, just as quietly while the two of you continue staring in front of you.
“Yeah.” You say. “I’ve never been more happy to see you.” You sob quietly and you can hear her crying.
What a mess your life had become. Three and a half weeks ago you were sat with your best friend on her bed. Talking about homework and...boys.
Well she was talking about Jughead and how he was taking her out on a date later that day and you were just nodding along. At the time it seemed like the conversation would never end. But what you wouldn’t do to go back to that time. You were happy and in love, and even though she didn’t know, nor she ever would, you were content. And most importantly, you were safe with her. Now, you were sat in conversion therapy with Cheryl Blossom and no real hope of escaping.
“You’re going to be okay.” You reassure her, squeezing her shoulder before quickly pulling away.
“We all thought you’d moved.” She whispers and you shake your head. Of course thats what they said.
“Surprise.” You laugh, but there’s no humor behind it. Its bitter and sad and Cheryl cries harder, her tears for you. Because she’d been here for three days and she felt like dying. You’d been here for three weeks and she could only imagine what you felt like.
The film started and you both shut up. You’d made the mistake of moving before the nuns left and you regretted it for three days, you would after being hit so hard you could barely see and then locked in your room for three days with barely any food or water.
As soon as the nun leaves, you cry silently, your tears blurring your vision.
You wanted out. You wanted to see Betty again. And you wanted to hang out with Archie and Kevin, and even Jughead. You didn’t mind that he had the girl you’d been pining for for the best part of 4 years. As long as you were with them...with her.
But it seems everyone has given up on you. Believed what your parents had told them and moved on.
“Cheryl!”
You could have sworn you heard someone shout Cheryl’s name. Maybe the shock therapy had fucked up your brain even more than you thought.
“Cheryl!” The voice was louder and you thought maybe you were dreaming. That you’d finally fallen asleep and this was your dream. Although why someone would be shouting for Cheryl instead of you is a mystery. But you and Cheryl glanced quickly towards the door, but when nothing happened you both turned your attention back to the film.
The blue lights cast a weird glow and it makes you feel colder than you already are. Its like all sign of life has been sucked from the room.
“Cheryl!” A pink haired girl bursts through the door and your eyes widen. Holy shit. Someone was here. “Are you here?” She asks, her eyes squinting at the light.
“Go.” You mutter, shoving her to stand and she does quickly, not quite believing what was happening. The frantic look of the girls face shows that she’s someone special to Cheryl and that makes you both happy and sad. Happy that they’ve got that, sad that you haven’t.
“Toni?”
“We came to rescue you.” She explains and now you can’t stop the tears falling down your face.
“You did?” Cheryl asks, and Toni nods. Quickly, she makes her way towards her, both of them smiling and hugging tightly before they pull apart and then...fireworks.
Its the most depressing setting for what you assume is a first kiss but its sweet, and you can feel everyone in the room rooting for them. They’re all hoping they’ll have someone they love come rescue them, you included. But you all have the same realization at the same time, that that isn’t going to happen and look down. Too afraid that if you look any longer you’ll melt into your own disappointment and sadness.
“Cheryl. Toni. They’re a bunch of nuns we have to go right-Y/n?” Your head snaps up at the sound of Veronica’s voice. “Holy shit. Y/n. Everyone thought you’d moved. Come on, lets go.” She says and Cheryl holds a hand out to you.
Its now or never.
“We’ll cover for you, for as long as possible.” The boy who’s sat beside you says and you send him a watery smile.
“Thank you.” You mumble before running towards Cheryl and grabbing her hand.
The four of you run into a dark corridor, Veronica grabbing your other hand and you let go of Cheryl’s, deciding to give them their own thing. The sisters are cornering you and you know there’s no way out. You’re all going to get punished and then you’ll be stuck here forever. But Veronica pulls you down a stairwell with red lights, the four of you desperately running away. The floor is wet, and its soaking your shoes and socks, but you don’t care. You just want out.
You run through a gate, and down another corridor, narrowly avoiding the sisters and you can feel your heart hammering in your chest. This is it. You either get out, or you die in here. The fire bell is deafening as you run past it making you falter slightly, but Veronica’s grip on your hand tightens as she pulls you alongside her and then up a ladder.
The four of you make it up the ladder and are running again. Your lungs are screeching and your legs are burning, you’ve never ran this much in your life. Not for something so important. And you so desperately want to stop, but then you see it. Light. And someone is holding the door open. You’re so close.
“Come on!” They shout and you’d recognize that voice from anywhere. Its Kevin!
Finally you’re out.
Toni jams a crowbar through the handle, and it starts to shake as the sisters try to get open it, but you all keep running. You run until you get to Kevin’s dads truck, the five of you all squashing in.
“Y/n?” Kevin asks once you’re all inside. “We thought you’d moved.” You’re starting to get sick of that saying. “Your parents...they said your grandmother was sick. They told my dad.”
“Can you take me somewhere safe?” You ask and he nods, knowing now is not the right time for questioning.
“Of course. I know just the place.”
Betty Coopers house looks just the same. The same old suburban outing, with the stone wall and big red door.
You remember playing stupid games in the garden, both you and Betty hiding behind the wall, waiting for Archie to pass by so you could jump out and scare him. It usually worked, although one time he did accidentally punch you in the face, breaking your nose in the process. However, you made a deal that if you punched him in the face as hard as you could, you wouldn’t tell your parents it was him, you’d just say you fell over. You knew they would kill you. Now you’re thinking they just might have, maybe for different reasons though.
But as you walk up the steps you’ve grown up with, nothing feels the same. Toni, Cheryl and Kevin are waiting in the truck while Veronica helps you up to the house.
You’re looking around frantically, just waiting for a man to jump out from behind a bush and grab you, locking you away forever. But it doesn’t happen, instead there’s heavy knocking on the front door which makes you jump, but Veronica’s arm wraps around you tighter, letting you know your safe.
The front door swings open revealing a tired looking Betty. Her hair is up in a bun and she has cute matching pyjamas on. And even though she’s half asleep, she’s still the prettiest girl in the world. She makes your heart skip a beat even in these odd circumstances.
“Yeah?” She rubs her eyes, but she stops when she sees you stood beside Veronica. She blinks a few times, her eyes widening as she takes in your appearance. You look awful...but perfect. “Y/n? What the hell. Where have you bee-”
“She’s been with the sisters.” Veronica says quietly and Betty nods before taking you from her.
“Come on.” She leads you into the warmth of her house, sending a thank you to Veronica before closing the door. “Let me find you some pyjamas. Do you want to take a shower?” She asks and you nod slowly.
Her house is the same as you remember, and you’re glad nothing here has changed. Its just you. And your entire life.
You make your way towards the bathroom and close the door quietly once you get there, making sure you haven’t closed it all the way. You don’t want to feel trapped again.
Peeling your uniform off you start to cry silently but when you start to the shower your cries become louder and your glad it seems to be only Betty in the house tonight.
“Y/n?” She knocks on the door gently and you quiet your crying as you step into the shower.
“Yeah?” You mumble. She barely hears it and he heart breaks at how broken you sound.
You’re no longer the bubbly, happen friend who always knew how to cheer up the people she loved. You’re broken and trapped and she has no way of helping you.
“I’ve left some pyjama’s and a towel just by the door.” She says, because there’s nothing else she can say. She opens the door a bit more to slide the clothes in, grabbing your uniform in the process. It goes straight in the bin once she gets downstairs, but it doesn’t feel like thats doing it enough justice. She feels like she should burn it, stamp on it, anything.
She doesn’t know how she’s going to make this better. So she rings Archie while you’re showering, to let him know what has happened. She doesn’t know much, but she knows enough for now.
She hangs up the phone when she hears the bathroom door open. You slowly walk out and she leads you to her bed.
You’ve spent countless of nights in this bed, staying up all night, talking about the future. Not once did either of you believe that something like this could happen. And it almost feels wrong to lie down in something thats been untainted, but you’re so tired. You haven’t slept properly in three weeks.
As soon as your head hits the pillow, your half asleep, but there’s something stopping you.
“You’re safe.” Betty whispers. Its like she can sense whats wrong with you, and as she slowly strokes your hair, you begin to fall asleep.
You’re in a forest again. But this time, the footsteps are right behind you and you’re running away from them. But no matter where you go, or how fast you run, they seem to be right behind you. Until...
Your eyes snap open as you sit up. Betty pulls her hand away from your shoulder quickly as you curl up into a ball, rocking back and forth.
“Sorry. You were having a nightmare. I didn’t know what to do.” She panics, switching the bedside lamp on. “Here, have some water.” She hands you a glass and you take it with shaky hands, taking a large drink. You hand it back to her and slowly start to relax as you look around the room.
“I missed you.” You mumble and her worried expression melts away. Its replaced with the lopsided smile that you fell in love with.
“I missed you too.” She replies, but her smile turns into a frown when she see’s you crying. “Hey, whats wrong?” She asks, wrapping her arms around you, you grimace at the pressure she’s putting on your bruises, but you don’t say anything. You want her to stay, you want her arms wrapped around you forever.
“Toni came looking for Cheryl.” You sob and her eyebrows furrow.
“Toni went looking for Cheryl. Everyone forgot about me. You all believed what my parents said. Nobody loves me enough to look for me.”
For a moment Betty is confused, but then she remembers seeing Cheryl and Toni in Kevin’s truck. Cheryl was wearing the same uniform as you and that confused her. But when you were getting ready to go in the shower, Veronica had text her to explain what had had happened, and thats when she found out the two of you were there for conversion therapy.
The only other explanation for you being in there would have been pregnancy but the only boys she’s ever seen you interact with is Archie, Kevin and Jughead. And all of them are a big no for different reasons.
But now everything makes sense. She was too busy wrapped up in everything that was happening, but now she understands.
“Conversion therapy.” She says quietly. “You parents put you in there because you’re gay?” She asks and you nod your head softly.
“I don’t know how they found out. I just woke up being dragged from my bed in the middle of the night by two men. I tried screaming but it didn’t work. And then I was thrown into a van and they said sorry, but they couldn’t have been sor-”
“Breathe.” She cut you off. You were starting to panic and she didn’t want that. You were safe here. “Its okay. No one is going to find you here. You’re safe. I’ll keep you safe.”
“How could you just forget about me?” You ask, your voice cracking and she sighs.
“I-we didn’t. Stay here.” She tells you before walking to her vanity and pulling open the drawer. She comes back handing you a folder filled with paper. You open it carefully, your eyes flickering from that to Betty and she nods reassuringly.
Dozens of pieces of paper filled it. All with several people’s handwriting on.
“We’ve been looking for you. We all have. The day you went missing I went to the police station because I thought it was weird but they just ignored me, so me and Archie took matters into our own hands. We listed everything we could about you and your family, we asked your neighbours if they knew anything and if they thought anything was weird about the sudden move. I called around your family members. Everything. We were even planning on going on a road trip to where your grandmother used to live.” She explains and you cry harder. We never forget about you...I never forgot about you.”
“Betty.” You sob and she pulls you into tight hug.
“I’d have looked for you every day of my life until I found you.” She whispers in your ear and you smile gratefully.
I love you. You say in your head, but the room remains silent.
*One Week Later*
The first day back at school is always the hardest, especially if you’ve been off for a few days.
But its even worse when your parents lock you away with the nuns for liking girls, then you escape and you end up living with the girl you’re in love with.
Alice basically decided to adopt you as soon as she walked into her daughters room and saw the two of you cuddling. She’d always liked you ever since Betty had brought you home, plus she thought you were a much better influence on her that Archie was. Betty had explained what had happened and then it was decided, you would live with the Coopers.
Archie was your next visiter, bringing along some flowers and your grandmothers necklace (now fixed). He’d found it on the driveway of your old home when they were still looking for you and asked his dad to lend him the money to get it fixed. (He also hoped that if the two of you saw the necklace, Betty would finally admit murdering Fish Sticks in cold blood...it didn’t)
The three of you had spent the entire day together, just in Betty’s room. Just like old times. Alice had even made cookies, which you ate the majority of.
Over the next week you had a few visitors, including Sheriff Keller, who formally apologized. They questioned you about the Sisters and their practices, and the next day, 9 children and teenagers were rescued from the place, all had been put in conversion therapy. The other people that had been put in there for various reasons were also taken out, and put in other places. Safer places.
Betty never leaves your side for the entire morning of your first day. And if she has too, she makes sure there’s someone else familiar with you. Her and Archie take it in turns to be with you and occasionally Veronica, Kevin or even Jughead will help out.
Even though things are a bit awkward between Betty and Jughead because of their sudden break up. Nobody saw it coming, and you’re not entirely sure why they did, but they ended it. Betty came back twenty minutes after telling you she would be be out for a bit. She was upset, and you could tell she had been crying, but when you asked her what was wrong, she just shrugged and told you things with Jughead had ended. And when you tried to find out why, she just smiled softly at you and told you not to worry, gently holding your hand as she did.
But for now they seem to be getting along for your sake and sometimes you feel like a child of divorce around them.
The looks you’ve been getting have settled down over the course of the day, but at lunch time it feels like everyone is staring at you and your starting to forget how to breathe. Betty looks around, noticing the stares, and leaves your side momentarily to ask a girl in her Math class what is happening.
But by the time she finds out, its too late. You’re already at your locker and its staring you in the face
‘dyke’
Is scrawled in red writing across your locker and you feel the breath being knocked out of your lungs.
You feel trapped, like you’re in that dingy room again, with the grey walls and hard bed, and people that screamed all day and night.
Your breathing is ragged and your hand is clutching your chest. Everyone is staring at you no matter where you turn and Betty seems to be moving towards you in slow motion.
By the time she makes it to you, you think you’re going to die. Her hands are on your shoulders making you stumble backwards. She curses to herself before holding your hands instead. She’s talking, you can see her mouth moving while she stares at you, but you can’t hear her. It all sounds like static.
Betty can tell she isn’t getting through to you, so she has to think of something. Everyone’s eyes are on the both of you and she can hear a few people laughing.
Who would do such a thing to a sweet girl?
Everyone loved you before you were taken away.
So what changed?
Oh yeah, they found out you prefer women over men.
So, she takes a deep breath, closes her eyes and presses her lips to yours. She needs a way to get through to you, she needs people to talk about something else, she’d rather be the ‘dyke’, that have anyone call you anything other than beautiful. Plus, she’s been wanting to do this forever.
To the outside world, it looks like the most depressing setting for a first kiss and if you’re being honest. It is. But its perfect either way.
Its like...fireworks.
Your eyes widen once you realize what she’s doing.
Betty Cooper is kissing you! The girl you’ve been in love with since you were 13 is kissing you, and you don’t know what to do. You feel breathless for an entirely different reason.
Kiss back! You’re screaming at yourself and you muster all the strength you can to kiss her back, melting into her.
She pulls away first, a bright smile on her face as she stares at you.
“I love you.” She admits and a soft smile appears on your lips.
“I love you too.”
Then, she leads you to the front of the car, you, her and Archie fixed up together and you’re whole life changes forever.

Riverdale Rewatch Review - Season One
Hey guys! So, as everyone knows, there’s like, this big thing happening in the world right now causing everyone to have to stay inside and a lot of people have way more free time on their hands than they know what to do with. I am one of those people. After I finish my schoolwork I find that barely even half a day has passed. What do I fill that time with? Animal Crossing. But also, watching Netflix.
I’ve wanted to rewatch Riverdale for the longest time, and I figure that now is the best time to do it.
So, the way this will work, I’ll give my overall thoughts and review of the season, my favorite episodes, and then I’m going to give you a play-by-play of my thoughts while rewatching each episode under the break. So, without further ado:
Overall Review
Looking at the bigger picture of everything I know Riverdale has come to be, I think the statement stands true that Season One is one of their strongest season, if not their actual strongest (Season Four has been climbing up there for me in fav seasons).
Watching it all together, the drama seemed evenly paced, and everyone seemed to get the same amount of screen time, including characters we barely see anymore like Kevin and Reggie. There are some interesting shots, and I found myself jammin to some of the songs they had the characters sing as well as the background music.
It was clear that they had a plan, and they knew where they were going. Hints of relationships happened WAY before they became official, and it seemed like everyone was on the same page, which is difficult to say for later seasons (which I will also be making reviews on shortly).
For only having 13 episodes, Riverdale did an excellent job in it’s first season hooking everyone in to the drama and the mystery, including me. I believe it was after the second or third episode when this blog was created, and I’ve been here ever since. This season is responsible for why a lot of fans stuck around, and for why a lot of fans left.
Overall, I would say it had amazing storytelling, character development, cinematic techniques, and everything else you could think of. My final rating would be a 10/10. Even if you don’t like later seasons, you can’t deny this one was really good, and had a lot of classic Riverdale moments -insert gif of Jughead saying “I’m a weirdo” here bc I tried to find it but couldn’t-.
My personal favorite episodes: Episode 6, Episode 10, Episode 13

Riverdale: Deadly Definitions 4
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
The next day would be one of the most important of this story. Because it was on this day that apologies would be made and friendships reborn. It all started in the common room before school. Two girls, neither of which you recognized had approached Cheryl harassing her about lying to the police.
Then Reggie spoke up “You don’t have to worry about Cheryl. It is never the popular ones. It always the loner outcasts. The nobodies in the background who have a weird obsession with murder. One of the freaks like Jughead or Y/n.”
“That’s enough Reggie” Betty called.
“What was it like Suicide Squad? When you shot Jason, you didn’t do stuff to the body, did you? like after?” he added.
“It’s called necrophilia Reggie, can you spell it?” Jughead shot back.
Reggie got up and went for Jughead, but Archie stepped in the way. “Shut the hell up Reggie”,
“What do you care Andrews?” Reggie questioned.
“Nothing. Just leave them alone” Archie answered turning back to the vending machine.
“Come on Jughead, let’s get out of here.” you said dragging him out of the room.
“Doesn’t surprise me though, that little bitch of yours has experience? With her parents.” Reggie called after the two of you.
“That’s it” Archie said before punching Reggie. Jughead stopped in his place. He couldn’t believe that he said that. To mess with him was one thing, but to say that about you. When he registered the fight (which had earned Archie a black eye) and turned back to make sure you were okay, you were already gone. He went to look for you, but was dragged off by the principal along with Reggie and Archie.
“Who and what the hell was that?” Veronica asked.
“Y/n, Jughead, Archie and I were best friends until Archie and Jughead had a huge falling out. I chose Archie’s side and Y/n said that she had to be there for Jughead. She and I tried to make it work, and she wasn’t mad at Archie. But then a month later her parents died in this really suspicious accident. Anyways, Archie and I went to the funeral, but since then the four of us have hardly spoke.” Betty explained.
“Wow. Were her and Archie ever a thing?”
“No, he was like her brother. She always knew how to get to him and bring him back down to earth. I think that is why he took it so hard when she went with Jughead. Obviously, he understood, but at the same time he thought she would have his back.” Betty continued.
“Old habits die hard” Veronica continued and the conversation took off to her date and Betty’s plans for the pep assemble.
---
To say that you were upset would be the understatement of the year. See there are very few people who knew the details of you parents death. Even though they had been ruled freak accidents, you had always believed there had been foul play involved. You had blamed yourself because you didn’t see any signs. You couldn’t even remember the last conversation you had with them. Back then you spent the majority of your time with your friends. You had assumed you had more time. Whatever. Reggie was an idiot who was probably high. You tried to calm yourself down and to think logically. But it was no use, so instead you decided to let it all out, which was exhausting.
---
Archie had made it home and was icing his eye when his dad showed up. “Please tell me that you weren’t in another fight with Jughead.” he halfheartedly joked.
“Actually it was with Reggie” Archie said.
“Am I allowed to know what it was over?”
“It was about Y/n. Reggie said something about her parents. He took it too far Dad.”
“Well, as far as reasons go, I guess that is a good one.” Mr. Andrews answered, “is she okay?”
“I don’t know, Jug and I were forced to go to the Principal's office. He’s out looking for her now.”
“You know this is the most we have talked in a long time”
“Well, can I ask you something else? Completely unrelated.” Archie asked
“Sure Son, what’s on your mind?”
“There is this girl that I have been seeing. And something happened. I want to do the right thing, but this girl says that it will ruin everything. And it could mess things up, but how am I supposed to pretend that not doing the thing that I know I need to do is the right thing when it isn’t?” he asked.
Mr. Andrews returned a blank stare trying to follow what Archie had just said.
“Never mind,” Archie replied, “I know that didn’t make any sense.”
“Listen. You will do the right thing, even if it is the hard thing because that is who you are Archie. And if this girl is trying to talk you out of doing what you know is right, maybe she is the wrong girl to be worried about” Mr. Andrews answered.
“Thanks Dad, I have to go get ready for the Pep Assembly.” he said as he went upstairs.
‘Have you heard anything yet?’ he text Jughead.
‘No, you?’ Jug sent back.
‘No, I hope she’s okay’
‘Me too, I keep you posted’
It was at the Pep assembly that he saw Miss Grundy and informed her that he would be going to Sheriff Keller in the morning and would keep her name out of it if at all possible. He was then waved over by Jughead who informed him that you had sent him a text that you were okay, just needed to clear your head, and would be at Pop’s later that night. Archie was so grateful to know that you were okay.
-----
You were sitting at Pop’s drinking a milkshake and snacking on fries when Veronica and Betty came in and asked to join you.
“I don’t believe we’ve actually met, my name is Veronica Lodge.” she greeted offering her hand.
“Y/f/N Y/l/n. It’s a pleasure to meet you” you answer shaking hands.
“I’m sorry about what Reggie said earlier. Are you okay?” Betty asked.
“Yeah I’m fine, I just overreacted earlier.”
“Okay, I know I don’t know you, but you had every right to react like that. Reggie was a complete ass. If it were me, I probably wouldn’t have been able to walk away that easy.” Veronica added.
“Thanks Veronica, that means a lot” you say smiling up at her.
“Is it just me or are the three of us going to be best friends now?” She asked.
And the three of you spent the next ten minutes getting to know each other and making plans to continue to get to know each other. Then two people walked into the dinner looking around for someone.
“Looked what the cats’ dragged in” Veronica laughed.
“Are you guys going to join us?” Betty asked.
So Jughead sat next to you and Archie pulled a chair up to the end of the table. The five of you talked for hours. Telling embarrassing stories from your past, discussing classes and teachers, being normal teenagers for one night. By the end of the night, any dissonance between Jughead and Archie had completely disappeared. It was like the good old days, but with a new and interesting addition.
Jughead had went home and Veronica and Betty left together shortly after. So it was just you and Archie. The two of you had decided to start walking to his house, where he insisted you crash until morning. After all, there was a killer on the loose and his Dad missed you, etc.
“I’m telling Sheriff Keller tomorrow. About Miss Grundy. You and my Dad convinced me.” he said.
“I’m glad Archie, I knew you would do the right thing.”
“Thank you for that”
“For what?”
“For always believing in me, even when nobody else does. For being there for me, and listening to me, and reminding me of who I am when I forget. I was such a shitty friend to you. After that fight with Jughead and you didn’t deserve it. I should have been there for you more with your parents. I-” he started.
“Archie it’s okay. Your here now” you interrupt.
“I am. So if you ever want to talk about anything. Or if you need literally anything, I’m here and I’m not going anywhere.” he said as he opened the door to his house.
“Archie it’s almost 1 am on a school night, where have you been? I’ve called you like four times” his dad lectured from the kitchen.
“Sorry Mr. Andrews, that is my bad. We were at Pop’s catching up and lost track of time” you answered.
“Oh Y/n, it’s great to see you.- Archie go grab some blankets and a pillow for Y/n.- How have you been?” he asked redirecting his attention to you.
You were about to answer when you were nearly tackled to the ground with love. “Hey Vegas” you cooed.
“I’m good Mr. Andrews, we can catch up tomorrow. I don’t want to keep you up when you have work. Plus it has been a long day” you yawn.
“Okay kiddo, get some rest” he said.
You nodded and went to the couch were Archie laid out a blanket, pillow, and a pair of pjs that you had left there almost a year and a half ago. Seeing that he still had them made you smile.
You changed into them and went back to the couch looking through your phone before going to bed. You sent Jughead a text telling him where you were. Then you received a text from Archie asking if you were okay or if you needed anything.
Truth be told, you wanted to talk to him about your meltdown earlier. But this wasn’t the time. And it was probably better to just bury it and allow everyone to move forward. Things were finally good again.
‘I’m fine. Goodnight Archie, see you in the morning.’ you sent back before setting your phone down and drifting off.

SweetPea x Reader: Riot Night from Hell, Part 1
Author's Note: This one shot will be split into two parts. I just fell in love with this storyline, and the finished product turned out to be way longer than I had anticipated. There will be flashbacks interwoven throughout the story, and they're distinguished by the use of italics.
On another note, if you are enjoying my fics, please do me a solid and either favorite or comment on them so I know that someone (other than me) is interested in them. I'm a new writer, and even the simplest comment, like, or even private message would mean so much for my budding confidence!
Reader POV:
As I stood on the roof of Pop's, I internally questioned how my life had turned so far sideways in the course of just one day. Riverdale was in complete fucking chaos. My best friend was just shot and I had no idea if he was alive or dead, I had no clue where my boyfriend was, and the cherry on the top of this nightmarish day was that I was now stuck at Pop’s Diner, of all fucking places, with Archie Andrews, of all goddamned people, while Ghoulies patrolled the exterior, screaming my name. So on my list of top days, this was at the literal bottom.
The day had started out decently, I was with Sweets all day preparing for what would happen once Fangs was finally released. Sweet Pea and I had been dating for almost 5 years now, and we'd both spent the day doing everything we could to get our friend out of jail. Thing had really gotten fucked up when we went to the sheriff's office to escort Fangs out in one piece. I shivered internally as I recalled the events of today.
“IN UNITY THERE IS STRENGTH”, we shouted in unison, locking arms shoulder to shoulder. Everyone pulled away as we mentally prepared ourselves to usher Fangs out of the jail amongst the vengeful protestors. Sweet Pea was the only one who didn't pull away from me; rather, he pulled me closer into his arms and I naturally fell into his broad chest; I took a deep inhale of his familiar, comforting scent of worn leather, light cologne, and fresh soap. My hands found their way to the inside of his serpent jacket, hugging myself closer to him and shivering. Though it wasn't cold in the Sheriff's office I had these ominous chills that had racked my body ever since we'd entered. His thumbs brushed gently against the exposed skin between my ripped jeans and my white t shirt, soothing me in a way I didn't even know I needed. I sighed in contentment, briefly pulled from the swirl of anxious, dark thoughts that had plagued my mind since Fangs was arrested.
“I'm not gonna lie Y/N/N, I get why you have to come out with us, but I'm not thrilled with the idea of you out there with all those insane Northside assholes babydoll”, he murmured into my hair after a few moments. I chuckled lightly against him, tightening my arms around the handsome boy in reassurance.
“I'm not exactly thrilled that you are either Pea, but we both know that we aren't about to let Fangs go through this alone”, I replied quietly. Sweets pulled back slightly, bringing his large hands to rest against the sides of my face. His rough thumbs rubbed delicately across my cheek as he stared deeply into my eyes; I knew in that moment just how scared Pea really was. In times of stress Sweet Pea had the habit of taking my face into his hands, gently cradling my cheeks with the pads of his fingers and his eyes boring deeply into mine. I'd never really given it much thought at first; Sweets had done this since we were kids, and eventually when I pressed about it he had told me that he felt like he just ‘needed to know I was safe’. It somehow comforted him when he was able to see with his own eyes and feel with his own hands that I was indeed still with him. I brought my hands up to cover his gently. We stood like this for an indiscernible amount of time until he sighed in resolve. He brought my face closer to his with his hands and kissed me deeply. Normally, despite his tough exterior, Pea gave the sweetest kisses. His lips, though plump and rough were typically gentle and teasing against mine; Sweets preferred to initiate soft kisses until I moaned or deepened things myself. I think he began this habit when we were young and first together because he was nervous about my reciprocation, but he continues now because he just loved to watch the reaction he still had on me. And while the soft way Pea usually kissed me was one of my favorite things about him, I was surprised to find this kiss was very different. His lips were immediately needy against mine, tongue entering my mouth without warning. It was a kiss of desperation, of longing. Our mouths danced together as we both poured all of the emotions that our voices could not do justice to into our embrace. I was just as needy as him, but before too long we pulled back, foreheads resting against one another's. With one last peck to his swollen lips I nodded in resolve. Sweet Pea laced his warm fingers through mine, fitting together like pieces in a puzzle, and we headed out to the fray, hands locking us together.
I recalled how I’d gotten separated from the rest of the young serpents after Fangs was shot all because of the protesters and general pandemonium of it all. I had desperately searched amongst the crowd for the sight of the tall boy to no avail. My phone was dead, so I'd decided to search elsewhere. I ended up hopping on my bike and heading to the hospital, hoping to God that Sweets and Fangs would both be there and be okay. Adding to my growing fear and unease, it was only FP I found there, who broke the news that Fangs was in surgery.
“It's...ah... it's pretty bad kid”, FP drawled out while rubbing the back of his neck in nervousness. I felt my heart drop into the bottom of my feet. My eyes teared up at the prospect of losing my best friend. Fangs was so sweet and goofy; he should have never been in this position in the first place. My mind was flooded with picture perfect memories of summer days spent by the Quarry and late nights in Pea's trailer, surrounded by Fangs’ contagious laugh and ridiculous jokes. These memories ended abruptly as I recalled the way he'd slowly fallen to the ground, the red spot on his stomach spreading achingly fast. I remembered the sound of the gun above the screaming protestors. But most of all, I remembered Fangs’ face as he fell-- his soft features riddled with disbelief and pain as he slowly lost consciousness. He didn't deserve to go through this, and my heart felt like it was breaking into pieces because there was nothing I could do to help him. I wiped my tears with the sleeve of my shirt and steadied myself; with a deep breath, I reminded myself of my main goal at the moment. I needed to find Pea.
Despite FP’s best efforts towards the contrary, I'd left the hospital to try and find Sweet Pea. I knew that the whole town was in the middle of a full-on, apocalyptic riot, but I was determined to reconnect with my boyfriend and ensure that he was okay. Or as okay as he could be in this scenario, I guess. Knowing him for as long as I had, I knew that he was more likely than not spirling at the prospect of losing his best friend. And when Sweets spiraled, he spiraled hard and with violence. I was the only one with any chance of talking him off the ledge before he did something that he would regret later, and, honestly, I had also wanted to find him for completely selfish reasons. Even now, as I stood on the roof of our favorite diner, I desperately needed my boyfriend’s strong arms wrapped around me, his comforting scent surrounding me, and his deep voice in my ear telling me that everything was going to be okay.
So, I'd fought my way through Riverdale on my motorcycle, Mad Max style, trying to search anywhere I thought Sweets might be. I ended up at Pop's, hoping that either Pea would be there or Jughead would be and would know where he was. Pop's was an extremely important spot in our relationship; it was where he asked me out on our first date when we were 11 years old, it's where we shared our first kiss at 13, and it was in one of the booths near the back where Sweet Pea had told me he loved me for the first time. To this day the neon glow of Pop's never failed to make me happy or to give me hope.
However, the neon sign seemed dull and lifeless as I found, to my utter disappointment, he was not there. But not long after I showed up, Penny fucking Peabody and the Ghoulies arrived.
I was sitting with my head in my hands, having just been informed by Pop Tate that he hadn't seen Sweet Pea all day. The older man had his hand on my shoulders comfortingly, attempting to sooth my increasing level of anxiety. I glanced up at the kind, wrinkled face of Pop Tate and asked tiredly,
“Pop, you think I could use your phone?”. He nodded and handed me the receiver.
“ ‘Course sweetie”.
I dialed the number I'd long since memorized, praying that Pea would answer. Who knows what kind if trouble he could be in out there? My anxiety only increased as the line went dead, signaling that he hadn't answered. I slammed the phone down in frustration, returning to my previous position. Not seconds after, a giant crash hit my ears, and I heard the taunting voices that could only belong to Malachi and his Ghoulies.
“Oh Y/NNNNNNN, come out and playyyyyy”, Penny Peabody's sickening voice called out in a sing-song manner. “You and I have unfinished business DollFace”.
Penny as and I had never been on the best of terms; it was her and her snake charming ways that had nearly gotten my father released from prison, a thought which terrified me to my very core. Thankfully, the court system recognized the grave danger that would place me in and decided on a maximum life sentence. I thought that was the end of Penny and me, but unfortunately Jughead had to go and get himself tangled up with her when FP was locked up. I had taken my pseudo-brother's place in the deal he made, and once he came up with the plan to get rid of Penny I was all too eager to help. I knew she hated me, but I really thought she was gone for good.
“Okay we should be fine as long as-”, Archie started.
Another thunderous crash echoed through the small diner as one of the windows shattered.
“EVERYBODY STAY AWAY FROM THE WINDOWS”, I ordered as the burglar alarm blared.
“STAY DOWN”, someone shouted.
I ducked behind the counter, finding Archie Andrews down there as well.
“Pop do you have as gun in here?”, he asked tensely. The old man's soft face dropped.
“No. Had my fill of gunfire in the war. But I did learn a trick in the riots of ‘79. I have some liquor left over from Mr. Lodge's poker night”, he said tensely. “And if you can get to the roof from the crawlspace…”,
“I like how you're thinking Pop”, Archie interrupted. I nodded and shared a knowing look with my unlikely Northside ally.
I'd helped Archie Andrews board up the windows, and that's how I now found myself on the roof of Pop's with the ginger, liquor bottles in hand ready to fight the clinically insane gang below.
“Come on Y/N, you had to know that this moment was coming”, Penny shouted upwards at me, pulling me out of my trance. “It’s time to pay the price dollie”.
Malachai laughed, swinging his bat around teasingly. I glowered in response, choosing to stay silent. I felt Archie’s strong hand on my shoulder, offering support that I didn’t expect from the ginger boy. We'd been somewhat close as kids (friends through Jughead, my honorary self-proclaimed twin brother) but we hadn't spoken in a year or so. I wasn't overly fond of him as of late, ever since he ditched Jug for his Bulldog buddies and especially not since he'd waved a gun in Sweet's face and started his stupid Red Circle.
“Get the fuck out of here Penny, Y/N isn’t coming down and you’re not taking her any place”, he practically growled. I nodded.
“Last chance Ghoulie scum. Leave, or suffer the consequences”, I spat. Penny and Malachai scoffed.
“DO YOUR WORST! COME ON, HIT ME!”, Malachai shouted, a crazy look in his eye. Well, crazier than the usual insane look he wore. Steadying myself, I prepared the bottle. Lighting it quickly, I launched it as well as I could and managed to hit one of the ghoulies’ bikes dead on. The bike erupted in flames. This did nothing to faze the group below, and Archie lit his second bottle and prepared to throw it.
Before he could chuck the bottle, the Sheriff’s cruiser came bursting into the fray of Ghoulies, sirens blaring. Sheriff Keller and Fred Andrews came out of the car, Keller with a shotgun. He shot his shotgun in the air in warning and the Ghoulies scattered.
“This isn’t over Y/N!”, Malachai vowed as he ran away. I saw FP hop off his bike and demand that the rest of the Ghoulies leave. I smiled slightly in relief, and Archie and I shared a brief hug before heading back down into the restaurant.
Once we reached the bottom, I brought FP into a bone crushing hug as my way of thanks. He returned my affection, seeming like he needed the reassurance almost as much as I did in the moment. FP had always been there for me, especially since my own dad had gotten carted off to prison when I was 6. I'd stayed with the Jones’ on and off throughout my childhood, and it wasn't a stretch to say that FP was more of a father to me than my own. He was always there for me, and much like Sweet Pea he always tried to keep me from the less savory sides of life as Serpent. He pulled back from the hug to search my face for injuries. I rolled my eyes.
“You really think I'd let the discount Insane Clown Posse trash this beautiful mug?”, I joked half-seriously. FP rolled his eyes and glared.
“Seriously Y/N? What were you thinking taking on all those Ghoulies alone? You could've been fucking killed!”, he scolded. I scoffed.
“Okay first of all, I was not alone; our dear Archiekins was with me on the roof”, I said gesturing to the aforementioned boy who looked more like a wounded little puppy than anyone who'd just been tossing out Molotov cocktails had the right to. “Secondly, did it seem like I had many other options? And thirdly, I'm fine, so it couldn't have been that bad of a plan”, I sassed. FP sighed and ran a hand through his dark locks, eyes looking more tired than I knew he'd like to admit.
“Heard Sweet Pea is going insane looking for you Y/N; why the hell aren’t you answering your phone kid?”, he asked. I felt my heart flutter at the mention of my partner. My tough demeanor dropped instantly, and I grabbed FP’s arm.
“So he’s okay? Tell me he’s okay. My phone is dead; I'd tried calling on Pop's but he didn't answer. Where is he?”, I demanded. FP grabbed my arms gently.
“Whoa whoa slow down Y/NN. He’s fine, he’s good. He’s with Jug at the Wyrm”, he soothed. “Here, use my phone, call the boy and tell him you’re alright”.
I grabbed his phone eagerly, fingers swiftly dialing the number I knew by heart once again. My heart hammered in my chest as I heard the distinct ringing of the call being placed. I needed reassurance that my tall, dark haired other half was okay. With each ring of the phone my anxiety increased tenfold, until I heard the one thing I’d been searching for all night. That smooth, deep voice that could simultaneously calm me and send delicious tingles up my spine all at once. My mind flooded with the low rumbling chuckles and sweet sounds that comforted me as I laid on his chest in more tender moments, heart signaling sweet reassurances into my ears with each beat. My favorite sound in the world, Sweet Pea's voice
“Hello? FP, what’s up?”, I heard Sweet's soothing bass answer. Even though he sounded tense, panicked even, I couldn't help but feel elated that he was safe and able to speak to me at all. I sighed in complete relief.
“Pea? It’s me”, I answered quickly.
“Y/N/N? Oh my god are you okay? Where are you? Why aren’t you answering your phone?”, he questioned in a state of near panic.
“Sweets, it's okay, I’m okay. My phone is dead, and I’m at Pop’s with FP looking for you”, I breathed. “Are you okay? What happened to you after the Sheriff’s station?”.
“It’s a long story babydoll, I’ll tell you later. Where did you say you were? Stay there I’m coming to get you”, he replied. I shook my head before realizing that he couldn’t see me.
“No, Pea it’s not safe out there right now, and honestly it’s not safe here either. I’ll go with FP back to the Wyrm and meet you there”, I reasoned. He was silent for a beat, contemplating my words. I heard shuffling on the other line.
“Sweetheart, I know it’s not safe, that’s why I don’t want you out there”, he murmured. I could tell that he’d moved away from the other serpents; his sweet side was coming out and he probably didn’t want them to hear. “I just... I need you with me. I need to see you, hold you in my arms and know that you’re okay”.
My heart lurched at his protectiveness, warmth flooding my body at his tender words. I could practically picture his face, eyes cast downward and deep brown irises swimming with that look that he had always saved just for me. His chiseled jaw was probably locked, twitching with unease. If I were there I would run my fingers up and down his cheeks in an attempt to sooth the tense muscles, loving the way he relaxed and leaned into my touch.
“Sweets, I know. Believe me love, I want you safe just as much, but I promise I’ll make it over to you before you know it. The Wyrm is a hell of a lot safer than Pop’s at the moment, and besides I’ve been Mad Maxing my way through this nightmare of a town all night. I've got this”, I stated confidently. No matter how protective Pea could be, I was not some damsel in distress that needed his saving. There was no way on this Earth that I was going to let him go out into the riot that I’d been facing all night. He thought he could be protective but his fierceness had nothing on mine. He sighed and the line went silent for what felt like forever as I waited for his response.
“I love you”, he vowed finally.
“I love you more handsome. And I'm going to see you very soon”, I assured before we both ended the call. I turned to FP, handing him his phone.
“You down to help me get to the Wyrm?”, I asked. He nodded.
“Of course kid. You ready to ride on the back of my bike like you did when you were a tot?”, he grinned. I smiled in nostalgia for a moment, my mind wandering back to the simpler times of my life when FP would take me for rides on his bike to help me escape from the realities of my homelife, if only for a moment. I remembered fondly the day when he finally taught me how to drive my own bike that he gifted me. He always helped me take care of her, and some of my only true family memories were of Jug, FP, and I fixing up our bikes together. Surely he didn't think there was any way that I was going to leave her here in the midst of this shitshow.
“You're kidding”, I deadpanned. There was no way FP was for real.
“Dead serious kiddo. You need a way to get around, and I don't want you roaming the Southside alone even if Sweet Pea or Jug are with you”, he replied. I marvelled at the motorbike in front of us, tracing the chrome detailing with the tips of my fingers gently. I felt tears well up in my eyes and I rushed forward and enveloped him in a tight hug.
“Thank you”, I whispered. FP hugged me back briefly before affectionately mussing up my hair.
“Don't thank me yet kiddo, she still needs a ton of work. If you're up for it I mean”, he countered. I smiled my truest, widest smile.
“I'm in”.
“Think she needs a name don't you?”, he continued, heading over to the bike with his tools.
“Mhm”, I agreed, grabbing a tool out of the box and crouching down alongside him.
“She looks like a Norma to me”, I mused.
“Norma huh?”, he answered, not looking as I grabbed a tool from the box and began working.
“Yeah, Norma Jean”.
“I’m not leaving Norma Jean out here in this fucking dumpster fire of a town”, I countered. “I’ll just follow behind you”.
“That’s not a great idea kid”, he grumbled. “Riverdale is a hellhole on the best of days, and this is clearly not the best of days”. I crossed my arms petulantly.
“I'm not leaving Norma Jean here”, I repeated stubbornly. He sighed and rubbed his stubble ridden chin in contemplation.
“Okay, but you stay on my ass the whole way”, he countered, pointing a finger at me. “I move, you move. I stop you stop. You got that kid?”. I raised my hand solemnly.
“Scouts honor”, I stated seriously. He nodded, and we headed out of Pop’s together to fire up our motorcycles and head out.
We were speeding through the trashed streets of Riverdale, swerving here or there to avoid the dangers that littered the town’s once clean roads. I stayed true to my word and stuck close to FP as we traversed the potential dangers. I did my best to follow him, but after some rioters ran out in front of Norma I was forced to skid to a stop in the middle of the street. Among the din of the riot, FP didn't hear and he continued on. I huffed and began to start Norma up again in attempt to follow once more. But as I revved the engine I felt a pain like none I'd ever felt on the back of my head and my entire world went dark.
Sweet Pea's POV:
“Where the hell are they? She should be here by now”, I practically growled. Jughead lifted his hands up as if in surrender.
“Don't look at me man. Knowing how protective dad is over Y/N, and knowing how stubborn Y/N is, they're probably still fighting over how to get here. He's not gonna want her to ride alone, and she's not going to want to leave her bike”, he reasoned calmly. “Chill out Sweet Pea it's only been like 15 minutes, I'm sure they'll be here soon”, he continued before accepting a call and walking swiftly out of the bar to answer.
I blew air out of my mouth tensely, chest constricting tighter with each breath I took. While I knew that Jughead's words made sense, a larger more irrational part of me was still screaming that I needed to go out and find Y/N. My head was a swirl of rage and fear; my best friend was at some hospital fighting for his life, and the love of my life was out in this godforsaken nightmare of a town. There was nothing more I could do for Fangs, but I refused to stop until I knew my Y/N/N was safe. The only way I would be convinced that she was alright was if I got to hold her small frame in my arms. And to be perfectly truthful, I needed her warm body pressed against mine, her soft hair tickling my face, the sweet fragrance of her shampoo in my nose, and her melodic voice in my ear with gentle reassurances today more than ever. I needed her to keep me sane and grounded on the best of days, and this was sure as shit not the best of days. Ever since we were kids, long before I was ever lucky enough to call her mine, she'd been there to calm the ever-growing darkness that lived within me. Even once we got together I still needed her unique brand of tough love to set me straight at times.
“Pea stop!”, I heard her musical voice from behind me. I turned to see her comparatively shorter legs nearly running to keep up. I turned forward and continued on, ignoring the nagging urge to stop and listen to her.
“PEA I SWEAR TO FUCK-”, she shouted. I whipped around abruptly, stopping and standing nearly toe to toe with Y/N.
“Look, there's nothing you can say to change my mind Y/N. I'm not going back and that's it. Not everyone is cut out for this education shit, alright? I'll hit up Tall Boy, he's always got something lined up for me”, I practically snarled. I recoiled just the slightest bit at her stone cold face; her usually sweet features were scowling at me, adorable nose scrunched tight and dark eyebrows knitted together in concern and irritation. Y/N wasn't usually one to show when she was frustrated. No that was me; when I was angry everyone in a ten mile radius would know. I was like a wildfire, burning bright and scorching anything and everything in my path in a wave of red destruction. Her brand of anger was more like a blue flame, dark and understated, but more intense than you could imagine. My girlfriend could be downright terrifying at times, and to see her frustration directed at me nearly made me reconsider. She crossed her arms stubbornly.
“Give it up Sweets, you can't fool me with your ‘too cool to care’ act. I know you, and I know that you don't really want to quit school”, she growled. I huffed and ran a hand through my hair, frustration reigniting.
“Maybe you don't know me as well as you thought”, I spat. “In fact, why don't you just fucking leave? Everyone else does”.
I turned once again, walking quickly down the steps and away from the shithole that was Southside High. For a few moments I could tell that Y/N was still standing there motionless, and I felt an overwhelming amount of guilt and self-loathing overtake me. Why did I always do this? I couldn't even fathom the idea of my life without Y/N in it, but here I was trying my damnedest to push her away. But to face facts, Y/N was too good for me. She always had been. Too many thoughts swirled in my head all at once, and I quickly grabbed the helmet to my bike so I could ride and forget about them all. But just before my fingertips grazed the shiny black plastic of my visor , I felt a hand on my shoulder yanking me back. Y/N threw her arms around my waist, hugging me fiercely.
“No.”, she stated firmly, the sound slightly muffled by my chest.
“No?”, I scoffed.
“No, I'm not leaving you Sweet Pea. Not now, not ever. Get that through your head”, she replied while lifting her head slightly from my body. My heart fluttered, and I sighed in disbelief and skepticism. I tried to pull back from her vice grip, but like a boa constrictor she simply responded by squeezing my middle tighter. My hands hovered over her waist for a second or two before sinking into her embrace, grasping her as tightly as she did me.
“Sure Y/NN”, I murmured into her Y/H/C hair, breathing in deeply her familiar, comforting in an attempt to slow my racing heart. She always smelled the same: lilac scented shampoo mixed with some cheap perfume I'd gotten her for her birthday one year and a hint of cigarette smell. Normally I hated the way stale smoke smelled, especially on women, but somehow the scent was so uniquely Y/N that I couldn't help but love it.
“I'm serious Pea. Nothing you could ever say or do would make me give up on you”, she swore softly while looking up from the confines of my arms. “I love you, all of you. Even when you're so god-damned frustrating that it makes me want to strangle you, even when you do stupid and dangerous things, and even when you are so broken that you try to push me away I will still be there, loving you. I. Will. Never. Leave.You.”.
Her y/e/c swam with a mix of emotions: love, determination, sadness, desperation. I reached hesitantly up to her cheeks to rest my calloused fingers against her soft face, needing to feel her with my own hands and see her with my own eyes. With every sweet moment like this it became easier, but I too often needed to remind myself that she was indeed here. She was real, and she wanted me. Her dark fan of black lashes fluttered closer together as she closed her eyes slowly, reaching her hands up to rest across mine while her fingers traced delicate patterns across the backs of my hands. I was overcome with a feeling that I wasn't sure I could even explain. I decided in that moment that I was never going to let anything ruin this, what we had. Not even if that thing was me.
“I love you Y/N/N. I love you so much babydoll”.
With every passing moment that she wasn't here with me I felt myself becoming more and more unhinged. I paced around for what felt like an eternity. Voices swirled around me, and I couldn't have even guessed what they were talking about. When I finally tuned in, I found that FP had shown up. I immediately rushed over to him, eyebrows raised.
“FP, where's Y/N?”, I asked quickly, hope bubbling up in my chest amongst the fear that still swirled. His tired, worried face told me all I needed to know, but still I found myself asking again, panic evident in my voice. He shook his head sorrowfully.
“I don't know what happened man, she was right behind me the whole time and then all of the sudden she wasn't. I circled back and searched over and over but I don't know where she went off to Sweet Pea”, he admitted. My shoulders dropped and the fear that had been slowly building up all day suddenly contorted itself into a rock that sank into the bottom of my stomach. FP clapped a hand on my shoulder, finger pointing in my face, a determined expression in his eyes.
“Don't worry SP, she's the toughest girl I've ever known. She gonna be fine. We're going to find her man, I promise”, he spoke tersely. He sounded sure on the outside, but I could tell that he was just about as scared as me. It made sense, Y/N was practically FP’s daughter at this point; he and Jughead were the closest thing that she'd ever had to a family, other than myself. It was for that reason, and that reason alone, that I forced the anger that was bubbling within me back down. FP's phone buzzed, and he turned away to answer.
“What do we do man? I've gotta find her!”, I shouted after him. Already 5 steps ahead, I grabbed my jacket and began to head for the door. I'd been patient enough; now it was time to go and search for my Y/N/N myself.
“SWEETPEA!”, I heard a female voice shout from behind me. I turned to find Toni weaving her way through the throng of serpents with that red headed Northside queen bee following closely behind. She reached me and grabbed my arm so tightly that it would have hurt if I were capable of focusing on anything else but Y/N.
“Topaz I really don't have time for this right now. Y/N is still out there and--”, I started before the small, pink haired serpent shook her head furiously.
“No, that's what I'm trying to tell you Pea! I was held hostage by the Ghoulies, and when Cheryl and I were leaving I saw one of them roll in on Norma Jean”, she exclaimed breathlessly, eyes slightly wild.
“It's true. We would have stopped, but I'd just saved TT from those Neanderthals and we didn't have the same element of surprise on our sides this time”, the Queen Bee replied. My hands clenched into tight fists.
“So you're telling me that those Ghoulie scum have my Y/N?”, I spat through my teeth, eyes squinting shut in fury. Toni nodded. I felt my body start to quiver in total rage. A small, buried part of me was terrified at the prospect of my girl being surrounded by those fuckers. Sure, Y/N was as tough as they come, but those Ghoulies were certifiably insane. And she was probably way out numbered. My mind refused to accept the possibilities of what could being happening to her at this very moment, and my entire being chose to ignored this fear in favor of blinding fury.
“You have to take me there Topaz. Now.”, I demanded. Her pink locks bobbed with her head as she nodded grimly.
“Toni, where were the Ghoulies keeping you?”, FP interrupted. His face was grim and his mouth drawn into a straight line.
“I'm bringing SP there now, they've got Y/N”, she replied quickly.
“I know. I think Jughead just went to go save her, and now they've got them both”, FP choked. My hands clenched and unclenched with unabashed anger.
“Well what the fuck are we waiting for? Let's go”, I nearly screamed as I pulled Toni out the door and to our rides.

name three authors that were influential to your work and tell why-Not too many tbh. I’m mainly influenced by TV Characters. and OTP’s in MV’s. I would LOVE to write like Francesca Lia Block one day and I’d say as a Teen I was heavily influenced by Amelia Atwater Rhodes.
since how long do you write? How long have I been writing you mean? since I was 13.
how did writing change you? Made me more of a Day Dreamer and a bit Absent minded lol
early influences on your writing-Already told one but other’s would be Christopher Pike as well as Watching WWE and Anime’s like Sailor Moon.
what time are you most productive? Whenever I get free time and am Inspired.
do you set yourself deadlines? No.
how do you do your research? Again watching Episodes of a certain Character,Headcanons and such,or Wikipedia if it’s something on The None Fiction or Mythological side.
do you listen to music when writing? Sometimes.
favorite place to write-My Room I guess.
hardest character to write-Right Now Peter Hale, which is why I took such a long break from Teen Wolf lol (I need to finish watching it)
easiest character to write- Eobard Thawne aka Reverse Flash aka EoWells.
hardest verse to write- Not Verse but My hardest Fic to write was actually a One Shot of My Wells of Hearts Fic From The Flash. It was after HR Wells dies (on The Show) and I was pretty sad writing it.
easiest verse to write-idk about Verse but The easiest Fic I wrote was My Cat & Mouse one with WWE’s Bray Wyatt. It’s a bit too NSFW to put here though ;)
favorite AU to write-All Mine are AU’s since I create a bunch of insert characters lol
favorite pairing to write-Freddy Krueger/Robert Englund with My OC Rika. Also Michael Langdon and My OC Helena. I have a weak spot for Dark,Tragic Soul Mates.
favorite fandom to write-WWE’s The easiest lol I’d probably have to say The Flash or Walking Dead though.
favorite character to write-That’s not mine. Negan.
least favorite character to write-Archie Andrews from Riverdale lol I feel bad because I think reading my Mughead story you can tell.
favorite story you’ve ever written-Online I’d say My Flash one that is STILL not done.
least favorite story you’ve ever written-I probably have a few Sailor Moon one’s I wrote when I was younger that aren’t that good or Some of My Michael Jackson One Shots.
favorite scene you’ve ever written-Ok I’ll just Copy and Paste it. again keeping this SFW. TWD Kings and Queen of Disaster pt1- “Don’t. Merle knew you’d kill him for siding with his Brother and you did anyway,I was there when Daryl had too…” I closed My eyes briefly trying to calm myself. It didn’t work. Before I realized what I was doing I was standing,my gun pointed at him. But The Governor was always one step ahead as he pulled a gun from the back of his waistband and pointed it at me as well. We had each other a stand off. I didn’t waver as I glared at him. “Merle was the one man i knew loved me for all his faults and you took that away.” I said through clenched teeth, angry tears pricking my eyes. The Governor stared at me unblinking. “I loved you. I did.” He insisted at my scoff. “I realize it now. Killing Merle wasn’t personal. Even if it was,it didn’t make a difference,we both lost that day. Merle,My Daughter,Each other.” The Governor looked at me remorsefully. “I am sorry.” “So sorry you disappeared.” “So did you!” Governor shot back. “I had to…” I trailed off not wanting to explain myself to him. I felt defeated, saddened, confused in that moment, that I didn’t notice when The governor slowly circled around the table, gun still in hand to walk behind me,grabbing my wrist that held the gun, putting his own to my temple. I stiffened but didn’t shrink away. We both knew we wouldn’t shoot one another. No matter how psychotic he could be or how hurt and angry I was.
story you’re most proud of- That one ^ or Wells of Hearts.
best review you ever got-On My Gotham one or My Cat & Mouse Trilogy.
worst review you ever got-None yet.
favorite story/poem of another author-Not sure.
hardest part of writing-Getting enough Motivation to write what is in your Head!
easiest part of writing-The Smut lol at least for me. ;)
alternate title for (The Alpha) My Alpha. Yeah very original I know lol
alternate ending for (Wells of Hearts) Not to give anything away but I had this big Fight scene between Reverse Flash,Obsidian Storm and Team Flash and Obsidian was going to turn her back on Eobard and side with Team Flash again at the last minute. But I decided her staying a Villain, essentially staying how Eobard made her,and joining The Legion of Doom plus all that happens afterwards would be more interesting.
alternate pairing for (MugHead) I really don’t change My Mind when it comes to Pairs lol But I may write an Alternate Story with Michelle ending up with FP Jones instead of Jughead.
single story or multi-part story? Multi.
one-shot or multi-chaptered story? Multi.
canon or AU? usually AU unless the Canon is REALLY good. usually stay in The Canon World though.
do you reread your own stories? Yeah all the time lol
do you want to be published some day? Maybe but since I write about Other Creators Characters I don’t think that’s possible.
which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series-Any of The Wrestlers actually being in a Romantic/Sexual Relationship like the one’s I write them in would be ideal. I’d watch it!
one song that captures (Wells of Hearts) The title is literally a Song except it’s WELLS instead of WAR of Hearts. Kings and Queen of Disaster is inspired by Queen of Disaster by Lana Del Rey.
do you plan or do you write whatever comes to your mind? Whenever it pops into My head or when I can.
would you ever write a sequel for (The Mark) I’d write another Baron Corbin x Roxy story but probably not a Sequel to that one since Dean is no longer in WWE.
do you write linear or do you write future scenes if you feel like it? Linear. Though I should just write what pops into My head so I don’t forget it later. That just seems Messy to me.
share the synopsis of a story you work on that you haven’t published yet- The Alpha-My OC Marianna is 18 and Best Friends with Lydia,Alison,Childhood Friends with Scott and Stiles. When She meets Peter (in his Teenage Guise) After much banter and courting by Peter, they start dating. Until Derek tells her the truth about Peter being a WereWolf and killing Alison’s Aunt (She knows Scott’s a WereWolf at this point) and Peter appears to her in his adult form. Marianna breaks up with him but Peter starts stalking her, claiming they have a bond. It turns very dark after that and a year goes by until Marianna admits her real feelings towards him. They start dating again but in secret. Peter ends up turning her and becoming her Alpha, which is when The Group is finally told. After many Deaths,Forgotten memories,a short lived Relationship with Stiles and Memories restored, they end up leaving for Arizona and having a Child,Malia.
share a scene of a story that you haven’t published yet-The Alpha-I noticed his dark slicked back hair and all black attire but I also noticed The Claws on his hands and The Fangs jutting out as he snarled at Stiles, ready to take another swipe at him or a bite. I recognized that look and not just because My Pack,Scott,Derek and Erica, wolf out. This was different this wasn’t out of Protectiveness, because I mean it was Stiles, but Jealousy and Possessiveness, over me. Because this Wolf was... “My Alpha...”” I whispered in shocked realization as My memories started rushing back, I knew something had been missing,I just didn’t know what. “How could I forget you...”
how many unfinished ideas/stories are you working on at the same time? Currently like 5 lol
three spoilers for (Kings and Queen of Disaster)-Suzanna will end up becoming Pregnant with Negan’s Child,Philip Blake will eventually be told of His and Suzie’s Daughter but it will be too late as Negan will end up Killing him after.
writing advice-Nah this has already been too long.
open question to the writer

A Journey To Find True Love
We start off with Archie as the bachelor, Ronnie is in his season. The story progresses, and she becomes the next bachelorette after he finishes his season. Both of them go on their journey to find true love.
I will be writing this AU in the form of a tv show. Since, we all know that “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” are reality tv shows.
Previously on “The Bachelor”
Archie and the remaining women had fun at the Riverdale Performing Arts Center for their group date
Betty told a sweet story about wanting to be a writer
Cheryl’s bold move surprised everyone
But it was Ronnie who really caught his eye after a deep conversation about her home life
Ronnie got the group date rose
Ethel got the first one-on-one date with Archie, opening up about a trauma in her life as well
And Archie gave her a rose, after seeing her kind heart
Midge and Melody got sent home at the rose ceremony.
Cheryl, Ronnie, Ethel, Betty, Josie, and Valerie remain.
Who will win Archie’s final rose?
Okay. Without further ado,
Buckle up, buckaroos!!!
Week Three.
(setting: Bachelor Mansion, in SINGAPORE! Living room. Ethel, Josie, Cheryl, and Valerie are sitting on the couches. Betty and Ronnie were laying down on the carpet next to each other.)
“It kinda sucks that Midge went home. I really liked her,” Ethel said.
“She was pretty cool,” Josie said in agreement.
“Quiet peasants, there was a knock on the door. I think it’s a date card. Valerie go check,” Cheryl said.
Valerie rolled her eyes as she got up, walked over to the door and picked up the date card.
She instantly got choked up. “It’s....a one-on-one.”
All the women gasped in unison and ran towards her.
(setting: Confessional Booth)
“I know I told Archie that I wanted to take this relationship slow. But I didn’t mean it as like, oh hey let me give other girls attention except you. You know what I mean?” Valerie said, and sighed. “I don’t know. I just don’t want to feel like I’m falling behind. I know he’s already developing a really strong connection with Veronica, Josie, and the others.”
She tucked some of her hair behind her ear, as she looked down. “When I saw the name on that date card. I just....I lost it. This is so discouraging because, he is literally getting distracted by all these shiny objects. I’m starting to think that all he really wants is a fucking trophy wife. Someone who is shallow as hell, and has NO depth whatsoever.”
(setting: Bachelor Mansion. Living room)
“Who is it?” Betty asked, giggling.
“Tell us!” Ronnie said cheerfully.
Valerie did her best to hold herself together.
She took a deep breath. “Cheryl.”
Cheryl screamed.
“Awww, congrats girl! Hope you guys have fun,” Josie said, hugging her.
“Oh we will! What am I going to wear? Oh my gosh I need find my favorite red heels,” Cheryl said, running up the stairs.
(setting: Confessional Booth)
“Cheryl got the one-on-one. I hope they have a good time,” Ethel said. She smiled. “Oh geez, I’m sorry, I can’t say that with a straight face” she laughed.
“Cheryl just seems like the type of girl who gets what she wants all the time. And that makes me nervous because I really like Archie a lot. But I guess I just, have to trust him.”
(setting: Outside Bachelor Mansion)
“Hi!” Cheryl said, running towards Archie, tackling him with a hug.
“Hey Cheryl!” He said, picking her up. “How are you?”
“I’m good! How are you?”
“Good,” Archie began. “So, listen. Don’t freak out. But I did a little bit of lurking on your Instagram profile.”
“Why would I freak out?” Cheryl gushed. “I’m flattered.”
Archie grinned. “I’m glad. So, I found out a few things about you” he said, twirling her around and hugging her from behind. “Some of them were things I already knew. One, that you take the color red very seriously-”
“I am red,” Cheryl giggled. “Sorry, continue.”
“It’s all good. Two, you live near these really beautiful mountains.”
“Also correct.”
“Three, that you look absolutely gorgeous in every selfie.”
Cheryl giggled, “Proceed.”
“And lastly, that you love to shop until you drop.”
Cheryl raised her eyebrows. “I’m impressed.”
“So today,” Archie said, taking her hand, leading her to the limo. “I realized that there’s nobody else I’d rather spoil today, except you.”
“Awwww Archie,” Cheryl swooned. “You are such a gentleman.”
“What do you say we get out of here and go shop?”
“I say, let’s do this!”
(setting: Confessional Booth)
“I was outside having some coffee,” Ronnie said. “And I couldn’t help but overhear Archie and Cheryl’s conversation. He’s taking her shopping?!”
(setting: Bachelor Mansion. Kitchen. Betty was making pancakes. Josie, Ethel, and Valerie were sitting at the table, waiting for Betty to finish to all have breakfast together.)
Ronnie entered the room. “So, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop. But...”
“Oh gosh,” Josie began. “Spill it, girl.”
“He’s taking her SHOPPING,” Ronnie said.
Ethel almost choked on her coffee. “Oh my goodness. That is so...”
“It speaks volumes. Doesn’t it?” Ronnie laughed.
Betty turned around. “I mean,” she began, flipping the spatula. “What else are they going to do?” she laughed.
“I bet she’s gonna love that,” Ethel said. “She is going to LOVE being pampered.”
“Well damn Ethel,” Josie laughed. “Tell us how you really feel.”
“I’m not saying it to be mean,” Ethel continued laughing. “Cheryl Blossom is going to LOVE being pampered.”
Betty turned the stove off, and served breakfast to all the girls. She glanced at Valerie. “Hey Val, are you okay? You’ve been kinda quiet.”
“Huh?” Valerie asked. “Oh, yeah I’m fine. Thanks Betty. Um, if you guys don’t mind, I’m actually going to take my breakfast outside.”
Valerie got up and walked away.
“What was that about?” Josie asked.
“Maybe it’s just getting to her,” Ronnie said. “I mean this experience, as fun as its been so far, it’s not easy to watch him fall for other girls.”
“True. But the way I see it, it’s more about wanting Archie to be happy at the end of the day,” Betty said.
“You’re right B,” Ronnie said. “As much as I want to be with Archiekins at the end of this, I’ll still be happy if he chooses one of you. Because I know his heart will be in great hands.”
Josie, Ethel, and Betty smiled.
(setting: Mall in Singapore)
Cheryl was in the fitting room, trying on multiple dresses.
Archie sat outside, chatting with the sales associate.
“This your first date?” she asked.
“It’s our first date...without other women.”
She laughed. “Awww. I can tell, you’ve already bought her a ton of things.”
Archie smiled. “I just want her to be happy today. Besides, every time she comes out of that fitting room, she looks amazing. And I’m like okay, you need that dress.”
“Awww, why can’t there be more men like you,” the sales clerk said. “Then again, you are the bachelor.”
Cheryl came out of the fitting room, wearing a black strapless dress with fringe across the bottom.
“You look stunning,” Archie said.
“Thank you love-muffin,” she giggled, giving him a kiss.
“What’d you think of this one?” the sales associate asked Cheryl.
“I love it. Classy meets edgy,” Cheryl said, looking at herself in the mirror.
“If you wear that to the cocktail party tonight, I won’t be able to keep my eyes off you,” Archie chuckled.
“Then I shall,” Cheryl said with a wink. She turned to the sales associate. “Add this to his tab.”
(setting: Confessional Booth)
“I don’t want to think about Archie and Cheryl,” Valerie said. “I really don’t. But I can’t stop. It’s just so irritating for me.”
(setting: Restaurant in Singapore)
Archie pulled out Cheryl’s chair as she sat down. “I just want to say thank you so much for today,” Cheryl began. “You really made me feel special. And that’s not a feeling I have every day.”
“I’m glad I helped with that. You deserve to smile and be happy, every single day,” Archie said.
“As do you,” Cheryl said, taking his hand. “Archie, I think that in any relationship that I have, it’s really important that I share with you every part of who I am.”
“I want you to,” he said, smiling. “I want to know as much about you as I can.”
She took a deep breath. “My brother, Jason, passed away recently.”
Archie immediately pulled her close for a hug, as she buried her face in his chest, crying.
“Cheryl, I am so sorry. I’m so sorry,” Archie said, rubbing her hair.
She looked up at him. “It’s the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to go through in my entire life.”
“You don’t have to explain-” Archie whispered.
“But I want to,” Cheryl began. “I want to allow myself to be vulnerable with you. This is what’s always stopped me in my previous relationships. I tend to push people away because in my life, all I’ve ever known is abuse from my mother. I live in an environment that is just...cold. Every day, I’m so cold. Just from being there.”
He hugged her tighter. “I really appreciate you trusting me enough to tell about this. I just hope you always know that with me, you’re in safe place. I won’t ever judge you, or think less of you. Especially not for being open about things you’ve gone through.”
She smiled. “I do feel that. And that just makes me like you even more, Archie Andrews,” she said, wiping a tear from her left eye.
He picked up the rose that was by the candles. “Cheryl. I think you know by now that you are someone who, I was definitely excited about. Ever since you first stepped out pf that limo on night one. And I really do see a lot of potential in our relationship. I’m glad that we established trust in each other tonight, and that I know the side of you that’s bold and fearless, and the side of you that’s sensitive and vulnerable. You are absolutely strong, and I admire you for it.”
He gestured towards her. “Cheryl, will you accept this rose?”
“Of course I will.”
They leaned in for a kiss.
(setting: Bachelor Mansion.)
Cheryl arrived at the mansion, carrying twenty shooping bags, could barely even open the door. She stumbled inside the living room, to find all the women sitting in the living room, watching The Lion King.
“Hey guys!” Cheryl greeted them.
(setting: Confessional Booth)
“So Cheryl walks in and she’s got like a million shopping bags. Like I don’t even get that many presents on Christmas,” Ethel said. “He was excited about their date. It was obvious, he couldn’t stop buying her things.”
(setting: Bachelor Mansion.)
“Archie picked these out himself!” Cheryl cheered, showing the women a pair of diamond earrings. “He was so cute. He was just like, whatever you want it’s on me. And well, I couldn’t say no that that!”
All the women were.....smiling.
Ronnie took a giant sip of her wine.
(setting: Confessional Booth)
“I’m so mad,” Ronnie said, tears streaming down her cheeks. “It just sucks, knowing that someone I’m dating, is doing that for someone else.”
She paused. “But Cheryl’s a good person. She has a good heart. I’m...I’m so happy for Cheryl.”
She put her face in her hands as she continued to let the tears fall.
(setting: Cocktail Party later that night, at the Bachelor Mansion)
Archie raised a glass. “You are all so beautiful, and so special to me, in your own ways. This upcoming rose ceremony might be the hardest one so far because I’ve already gotten to know all of you. I appreciate those of you who have been so open and honest with me about things you’ve gone through. It just shows me how much you put your trust in me.”
Ronnie, Cheryl, and Ethel smiled.
“I’m looking forward to tonight. And, as you all know, next week is Hometowns. And, I do want all of you to do me this one favor. Before I meet any of your families, I want to know that you feel confident in where our relationship is at right now,” Archie continued. “So, cheers to us being here on this journey to find true love.”
Everyone raised their glasses, and took sips.
“Arch,” Betty said. “Can I steal you away for a bit?”
“Of course Betty,” he said, taking her hand as they walked away together.
“Well that escalated quickly,” Ethel chuckled.
Josie glanced at Valerie. “You okay boo?”
“I just haven’t had any time with Archie,” Valerie said. “It’s really upsetting. I’m scared I might be going home.”
“Honestly Valerie,” Cheryl said, putting down her glass of champagne. “I really think you need to just, get out of your own head. I had to talk to him about something that was really hard for me, but now I feel really great about it. Just pull him aside to talk to him, like Betty did just now. The only thing really stopping you from having more time with him....is you. You can’t make excuses, you just have to act. Because if you don’t, it’s not going to be good for your relationship.”
“I’ll just be patient. Eventually, possibly, I’ll talk to him,” Valerie said.
(setting: Outside on the porch swing.)
“You’ve been pretty busy,” Betty chuckled, playfully nudging Archie’s shoulder.
“I have. And I feel good about it. But my wallet doesn’t,” Archie laughed.
Betty laughed.
Archie gazed at her. “I love your smile.”
She giggled. “I like the way you look at me.”
“Well I can keep doing that for you.”
She laid her head on his shoulder. “So,” she began. “You don’t seem like the type to really have any skeletons in your closet.”
“How do you figure that?” Archie chuckled.
“Because I see it. You have so much optimistic energy, lighthearted smile, and a really pure heart. You’re honestly a big ball of sunshine. I don’t picture you having any deep, dark, secrets to hide.”
“I’m an open book,” Archie said, putting his arm around her. “The one thing about me that could scare you or any of the other women away, is how loudly I play my guitar at midnight.”
She laughed. “Night owl?”
“I sure am.”
She looked down. “What’s wrong? Are you an early bird?” he asked her.
“I do...have some skeletons in my closet, Archie.”
He kissed her hand. “Betty, whatever it is, just know that you’re safe here with me.”
“My dad is a serial killer.”
Archie was at a loss for words...
“Or was, at least. He got arrested recently. I was honestly terrified to tell you, because I didn’t know how you’d respond. This isn’t something that I just freely talk about with anyone who will listen. But it’s something that...really changed me. It made me start to see the world for what it is. A place that, can be beautiful. But can also be a dangerous, scary place.”
He hugged her tight. “I’m so sorry Betty. How did you...?”
“He confessed it to me and to my mom. I called the cops on him, and they took him away. I haven’t seen him since.”
He rubbed her shoulders. “How do you feel?”
She sighed. “This is the first time I’ve ever talked about it, with anyone besides my mom and my sister Polly. And it feels...okay to talk about it. At first I was just so ashamed of myself...but I don’t need to be. They were his actions, not mine. But I do feel so much hatred towards him.”
“It’s understandable,” Archie said. “I think that’s so mature of you to realize that you aren’t the one to blame, for any of it.”
She smiled. “Thank you, Arch.”
“I can’t imagine.....going through anything like that,” he whispered.
She sighed. “It’s a topic that I always stay away from.”
He turned to look her in the eyes. “Thank you for opening up about this. I know this must have been extremely difficult for you. But I’m honored, I really am, that you were able to trust me with something so personal.”
She smiled. “You made it easier on me. You always make everything so easy.”
“Betty,” he said, pulling her closer. “When I first met you, that night. You reminded me of home. You’ve always been such a calming influence on me.”
“You still give me butterflies,” she giggled.
“I see how phenomenal you are,” Archie began. “And sometimes I worry about, not being good enough for you.”
She rested her hand on his cheek. “You are more than enough, Archie Andrews.”
They leaned in for their first kiss.
(setting: Ballroom, at the Cocktail Party)
Archie sat down on the floor, playing his guitar.
“Hey stranger,” Josie said, entering the room.
“Hey you.”
She sat down next to him.
“You know what I just realized?” Archie asked.
“What’s that?” Josie responded, smiling.
“I don’t know enough about you,” he chuckled.
“Well maybe if you gave me a one-on-one,” she said playfully.
He laughed. “I wish every date could be a one-on-one.”
Josie leaned her head on his shoulder. “My mom is the mayor of Riverdale. And my dad is a rockstar, currently on the road with his band.”
“Your mom is Mayor McCoy?”
“Mhm,” Josie giggled. “So, hope you treat me right.”
“I think I’ve been doing okay so far,” he winked, kissing her.
“Maybe you should work a little harder,” she laughed, kissing him back.
(setting: Living room.)
“Did everybody already have time with Archie?” Betty asked.
“I certainly did,” Ronnie said.
“So did I,” Josie said.
“Ditto,” Ethel said.
“I haven’t,” Valerie said.
“People are already having double time, so you should probably go talk to him now because-” Ronnie began.
“Who’s having double time?!” Ethel asked.
“Cheryl,” Ronnie responded.
Valerie’s jaw clenched.
(setting: Confessional Booth)
“Is she serious? She already had a one-on-one date with him! What, was that not enough? I’m so annoyed,” Valerie complained to the camera. “Not only was Cheryl a big part of the reason I didn’t even get time with Archie last week, but now she’s doing the same shit this week. AND...I literally just told her I was upset about not having time with him.”
(setting: Ballroom.)
Valerie entered the room, “Knock knock.”
Cheryl was sitting on the floor by herself.
“Archie’s gone?”
“He went to the kitchen to refill his glass,” Cheryl said.
Valerie sat down next to Cheryl. “Veronica told me that you were over here talking to Archie.”
“Yeah I just wanted to tell him thank you for the date we had, and that was it,” Cheryl explained.
Valerie paused. “I don’t understand that.”
“What don’t you understand?” Cheryl asked.
Valerie took a deep breath. “I was open with you, about being upset about not having time. You seemed genuinely concerned-”
“And I was,” Cheryl said. “And then I told you for like 20 minutes to go talk to him. And instead of getting that time with him, you just continued to sit there-”
“You decided that what you needed to say was important, that’s the bottom line.”
“I didn’t even think twice about you in our conversation because of how good-” Cheryl began.
“See that’s the thing, I feel like sometimes you DON’T think.”
Cheryl scoffed. “Because I’m not here for all of the girls, I’m here for Archie.”
“How old are you again?”
“Oh, stop it.”
“I just feel like your actions solidify a maturity level. And I feel like someone who had a higher maturity level would’ve taken those things into consideration.”
“You have the right to feel that way, and I have the right to not care,” Cheryl said, getting up, and walking away.
(setting: Confessional Booth)
“I am so NOT in the wrong in this situation,” Cheryl said. “She had every chance to go talk to Archie. For crying out loud, there’s only six of us! Most bachelors, they have 15 women to talk to in one night. She has no excuse for being so prissy and lazy. She is not putting in any effort for Archie and it SHOWS.”
She did a hair flip. “I think she’s intimidated by the fact that Archie is establishing serious connections with all of us, not just me. She’s dug her own grave at this point, and if she goes home then....is anyone surprised?”
(setting: Rose Ceremony)
Ethel, Ronnie, Josie, Betty, Valerie, and Cheryl entered the ballroom.
There were three roses on the table.
Archie entered the dining room. “Hey ladies. This decision tonight was really hard because, I really like all of you. But I do feel confident in decisions, as usual. So if you don’t get a rose tonight, please understand that you’re amazing, and your person is definitely out there.”
He picked up the first rose and took a deep breath.
“Betty.”
Betty walked over to him. “Betty, will you accept this rose?”
“Of course, Arch.”
He picked up the second rose.
“Josie.”
Josie walked over to him. “Josie, will you accept this rose?”
“Guess you’re meeting the mayor next week,” she said, playfully.
Archie laughed as he picked up the final rose.
Ethel, Veronica, and Valerie intently stared at him.
He smiled. “Ronnie.”
Veronica walked over to him. “Ronnie, will you accept this rose?”
“Absolutely, Archiekins.”
Chris Harrison entered the ballroom. “Ladies, I’m sorry. Take a moment. Say your goodbyes.”
Ethel walked over to Archie. “Thank you so much for everything. You made me feel hopeful for love,” she said, giving him a hug. “Your wife is in this room.”
Valerie walked over to Archie. “You’ve been making a lot of easier choices with the people you are pursuing. And if that’s what you want, then great. Go for that. But... I was at a cross roads because I do want something real, magical, everything you’re looking for. And I don’t regret any of my time with you. There’s a great group of girls here. Find them. Figure out who they are. Don’t get distracted by the shiny objects.”
Betty, Josie, Ronnie, and Cheryl were shook. Their jaws dropped.
“Goodbye Archie Andrews,” Valerie said, exiting the mansion.
Archie narrowed his eyes and took a deep breath. “Uhh….okay. So, next week is hometowns. I’m really excited to meet your families. And deepen all of our connections.”

My thoughts on 3x17
Hey guys!,
I know I’m super late on this but a lot has been going on recently so it took me a few days to get here.
Anyways, I thought 3x17 was actually really good. I liked that we got to see the more investigative side of Riverdale again.
To start things off we got a bit of B and V time again which I love.
I liked seeing Archie and Veronica as friends again, we haven’t seen that since season 1 and it was refreshing to see.
I felt bad for V about everything going on with her family, but I’m glad that Hiram and Hermione didn’t stay together. I did like how he dealt with everything by not doing it publicly to keep Hermione safe. Wasn’t the biggest fan of Veronica planting a fake threat, and even thought she did it to keep her family together, she could’ve maybe just spoken to them about it? I don’t know, what’s done is done.
Loved Maddog in this episode, as much as he respects Archie, he put his family before himself, and so I respected his decision to work with Elio.
Gladys can royally fuck off, she threatened Jughead and than basically got FP to side with her about the serpents. Like, everyone in Riverdale had daddy issues, mommy issues or both! I might get into that another day, but my god! Can’t they just be good parents for once.
I liked seeing Jughead and Archie hang out, not only at casa de la Andrews, but I liked the serpents helping out Archie and Maddog, even if it did have to do with the fizzle rocks trade.
This leads me to the Serpents. To be honest, I really enjoyed seeing the serpents as a gang that didn’t break the law, but enforce it. I also loved seeing a “reckless” side of Jug, seeing as he did technically jump out of a window. I also loved the scene where her threatened the comic book store cashier, I found it so endearing and funny to be honest, I mean...
“Last time I was here was with the red paladin, and that day, I was in a good mood. But today--” *whips out pocket knife* “--I’m in a bad mood”
That was so cool, and smooth, that I found it so funny. I loved that line so much I wrote it into my WIP story that has nothing to do with Riverdale, but it fit my character so well.
Anyway, sorry, lost track of what I was talking about for a second.
Um, I’m definitely not happy about Cheryl getting sucked into the farm, first you take Kevin, than Fangs, and now Cheryl?! I mean, come on, they’re some of my favourite characters that it breaks my cold, dead heart, to see them being manipulated like this.
Although, Cheryl did make a good point. I may be the biggest lesbian out there, but damn, Edgar is hot. So I’m in the same boat as Cheryl.
The farm showing people their dead loved ones was a plot twist that both shocked and confused me, but I’m intrigued to see where it goes.
The scene where Alice was talking about how the farm let her see Charles made me sad for Betty. I mean, Alice literally said “Being with him is unlike anything I could ever imagine”, in front of Betty, her own daughter, that speaking to her child, is unlike anything she could ever imagine.
And look at my little bean, she looks like she’s gonna cry and that made me wanna cry.
Um, if this isn’t the cutest fucking pillow talk ever, I don’t know what is. The way they looked at each other and the tucking of her hair behind her ear had me literally squealing, me and my best friend were dying over this scene. Like, that’s love, and you can’t fake that kind of love, if you know what I’m saying.
And than there was the return of the gargoyle long plot and I was just sitting on my bed like:
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I loved the episode but...really? More people dying from the gargoyle king? It’s getting a bit old.
And I’m glad to know I’m not the only one listening to Seventeen of repeat 24/7.
Sorry for making this really long, I just had a lot of things to say about the episode.
See you soon!

Anon Hate & Theft
This is going to be my last commentary on this nonsense, I’m aiming to be clear and coherent but it is long and therefore below the cut,
First of all, I will no longer be addressing any of this unless on a case by case message in dms (only with the creator, never on their behalf). I may answer genuine questions on my opinions but bullshit will simply be deleted and IPs blocked, and I will not be addressing specific OCs.
Yes, it can feel really fucking shitty to feel like someone is stealing your ideas. Yeah, I get that, I’ve been there. In fact, I’m there right now with one particular OC. But as I mentioned here, that doesn’t mean that you should send anon hate and death threats or ask others to send anon hate and death threats.
“But then how do I let them know that I think they stole my idea and I’m upset?”
I have three answers to that.
One, contact them directly (and privately). Explain your concern and listen to their side. Don’t go into this with your mind made up because then you’re just wasting their time and yours because nothing they say will convince you otherwise, no matter how true it is. Be open to discussion and have a proper, adult conversation. DO NOT have someone else reach out on your behalf - it’s not fair to expect someone to talk to someone else about your problem
Two, Marie fucking Kondo the situation. Does it bring you joy on your dash? No? Get rid of it. If it’s the entire blog, just unfollow them - or even block them, if you prefer. If it’s just one oc, block the tag. The filtering system isn’t flawless but it works. Now you don’t have to see content for that OC and you can continue to enjoy yourself. For example, here’s an excerpt from my filtered list - I’ve filtered other tags too but here you can see a few things that I don’t like in general (reylo, certain spoilers, reader insert imagines, etc) but also that I have filtered out two ocs because every time that I see them on my dash I feel a little bit annoyed.
If you’re going to do this, I personally recommend blocking whatever tag the creator uses as well as oc: name so that you don’t still end up seeing ocapp reblogs, but that’s just me!
Three, don’t fucking send anon hate and tell people to die or say that you’re going to kill them or whatever other bullshit. And don’t get your friends to do that either.
Futhermore, on a personal note.
If my oc is similar to one that I know of, I try to talk to the creator. For example, there have been faceclaims that I’ve wanted to use that my friends have used in the same fandom, and I always dm them first and ask them if it’s okay with them. If there’s an fc that I only know of because a friend used it, I’ll ask them. The moment someone starts using a middle man for any reason I will stop talking to them, but I try my best.
I have not and will not ever ask my friends or followers to send hate on my behalf. If you are my friend or follower and you ever think that someone is stealing an idea from me, please reach out to me directly if you want to say something. That way if I’m in any way upset I can decide if I want to reach out or not (most likely not) and nobody gets hurt by anons.
And you know what, a lot of oc ideas aren’t unique. There, I’ve said it. How many Romeo and Juliet inspired Riverdale OCs are there y’all, with some Northside OC falling for a Serpent or vice versa? I have no idea but I myself have almost a dozen and that’s just me and most of them are barely alike beyond that. Or how many Southside OCs are there who are trying to not let anyone know that they know what happened to Jason Blossom? Hell if I know. With hundreds of Riverdale OCs in the world, it’s inevitable that that’s going to happen. Similarly with Marvel, how many OC daughters does Tony Stark have? Who the fuck knows man, probably hundreds, it happens. How many Baratheon/Lannister OCs get betrothed to Robb Stark or Stark OCs get betrothed to Joffrey or Jaime? Countless. How many Stranger Things OCs get caught up in the Upside Down and fall in love with Steve Harrington? Buddy, so fucking many.
Even fucking Romeo and Juliet itself was inspired by Pyramus and Thisbe y’all, tropes and cliches exist for a reason. And interpretations happen. I’ve seen so many ocs with similar premises (including the examples I used) and every single one of them is actually incredibly unique and interesting and wonderful if you actually look beyond the immediately obvious concept. And that’s not to say that ideas never get stolen, I’ve seen fics where people have literally copied someone else’s fic and just changed the name; I’ve seen things where every single element of the plot is the same except oh this oc falls for this character instead of that character; I’ve been creating and publishing ocs - primarily on ffnet and primarily deleted - since I was ten years old, I’ve seen a hell of a lot of types of theft, I know that it happens.
Similarly with names and faceclaims, especially if you use fcs from popular teen shows. How many people have used Madelaine Petsch in Teen Wolf? How many people have used Nina Dobrev? How many people have used the cast of Teen Wolf in Riverdale or the cast of Reign in Game of Thrones? How many people have made an Archie Andrews sister whose name also starts with A because Riverdale has a thing for alliteration? Hell, I named Amy “Amethyst Adams” so that it would not only be alliterative now but remain alliterative when she changes her last names in a few chapters. How many people have done the same with Argent OCs to match Allison?
And that’s not an insult to any of those ideas, I think they’re fantastic, but when you see them you go “oh, yeah, another of those”, it’s not until you actually take the time to really look at any one of them that you see the differences, which are usually significant. And like I said, I’ve been there too. I’ve seen OCs and felt like “really, you had to use the same name as me? Really, you had to use the same fc? etc.” but it does happen and 98.7% of the time, there is no malicious intent and it is a genuine coincidence.
But similar doesn’t mean stolen, and anon hate is fucking bullshit either way. Again, if you have concerns you should talk to the creator directly or just suck it up and move on, you should not send hate or ask other people to send hate because frankly nothing gets resolved when you do that.
