I'll admit, while I still like Transformers Rise of the Beasts. I would've preferred something like this amazing AU as a follow up instead of what we got.

So...finally saw Fantastic Four: First Steps. I was hoping I would like it.

But now seeing it....oh yeah, this is definitely my favorite MCU film. Especially as someone who likes the Fantastic Four. That was strangely perfect.

Gotta admit, the reason I decided to talk about this thing about canon because in Predator Hunting Grounds. If you've ever played it or even looked it up....a big aspect of it's lore is Dutch is an actual playable character with legit lore voiced by Arnold.

There's some interesting tidbits on it spoilers.

Such as him attempting to get to LA when the events of Predator 2 are happening, but he's late. And the tragic idea he became a little more akin to how Dillion was before his death.

There's also the fact Isabelle returns. Granted, on one hand, I don't mind the game being "Non-canon" because I still...don't like the idea The Predator being connected. Yet what's funny about the game is it kind of disses the events of that movie. Such as the "Predator Killer" suit turns out to be non-operational or something like that.

But yes, I'm like you. Or....it depends. I'm usually with the films and while there are comics and games I love (Such as Alien Isolation that I like to consider part of the canon still), but I do understand things like Predator Concrete Jungle, or even Colonial Marines can't be considered canon. Canon is a....silly thing to discuss sometimes. Glad there's a multiverse confirmed basically.

Anyway, I kind of agree with you on not wanting to see more of Dutch. More so my end, it's this idea the fans want this "Ellen Ripley" type character to hold onto. Yet I think a strength of these films is that nearly every protagonist is a different person. And you may get annoyed by the idea if it was just one person able to survive these creatures. It depend son how it's written of course. Yet I agree with one dude before that it's this strange idea the moment we start killing Yautja on their hometurf? Should we even be afraid of them?

But honestly, you make a genuinely good point of how Dutch legit looks broken by the end of the film. I think I kind of look at the ending like that because he was one of the "Lucky ones" who was able to survive an encounter and beat a Yautja. The ending is open, but it's bittersweet in a sense because he and Anna are the only survivors. It's honestly such a powerful ending.

Anyway, with what you're saying. YES. That's a perfect idea. Making him a reluctant warrior instead. And with what you're suggesting. That sounds like the best possible thing without resorting to live action where it would be more difficult to film.

Oh yes, it was an expected surprise. But I was glad to see Naru though. XD Sad her music doesn't show up in this extended ending.

That new epilogue for Predator: Killer of Killers

I just watched the new epilogue on YT. And....to be honest when the news came out yesterday. My first reaction was "The fuck?" because I have two opinions on it.

To be honest, and I'm gonna sound negative. I feel...hesitant to the idea. Because do we need to see those two again? Can't we focus on the new characters.

But on the other hand, it's actually awesome and they are brought in a way that's organic and could make sense. Yet also....it actually does something I wanted from these films I think would be the better way to bring these characters back. Because these actors are getting older and you can't really do physical action with them action. So, putting in animation with a voiced role is actually the best possible thing.

It's something I....kind of wanted for Alien. And I'm a guy who thinks animation is a great way to do some of these things.

I also have to say this....does this possibly mean the lore they got going for Predator Hunting Grounds isn't considered "Canon" anymore? I mean....that would be sad. Yet hey, I don't mind Predators and The Predator not being canon anymore.

And reading comments from AVP Galaxy. Yeah, that game might not be canon. Eh, I'm taking that too seriously.

Badlands the coming of age story

I think about this one convo I had with a friend months before the trailer that if a yautja were to watch Badlands they'd see it as a coming of age film. Tbh I feel like it might be possible because our protagonist is a young guy trying to prove that he can hunt and hunting for them is like a passage of adulthood.

Dek throughout the film might act like a "cool" kid, trying to use all his strength to fight off all the animals and humans trying to kill him, just going at it like any yautja, being all smug that everything would be easy, he probably chose this planet for the aura points but his dad laughed at him cus he's gonna definitely die there. After some reality checks he learns how to hunt properly, we might see him setting up traps and outsmart his prey as the movie goes on. It's basically Prey but the roles are flipped.

Also just a what if scenario

His hair is down in the end of the film, to symbolize that he isn't some runt anymore and basically an adult by their standards after hunting the creature.

I say this cus it looks like his hair isn't tied back in this banner...

So they really do just take everyone who kills a Yautja huh? Hope we see some cameos of the guys from the comics. Also I rly hope that it's just the bone mask Clan that takes the victors and it's not a "This is an agreed upon and normal thing for us to do" type thing because I still think it's an enormous retcon, and it seems like an excuse to "Marvelise" the Predator franchise which I am so not a fan of happening. I guess we'll have to see

Oh shit, someone else thinks that too?! Because yeah, his face in the trailer when I see his mandibles. I was thinking or something along the lines, "I think they fixed the mandibles and put them in a x position again finally".

Or wait with what you're saying. Yeah, a bit down along the lines. But oh man, I love his design.

Okay after looking more carefully I think what was so weird about Dek's face was that his upper mouth was closed because when you look at him snarling he looks way more similar to the Jungle hunter

Also I'm pretty sure his mouth is further down his face than the Jungle hunter's was (I'm using the Jungle Hunter as a form of reference because it's the variant his is closest in design to)

Also new AVP movie when? If we're officially in the Alien universe now we're gonna start seeing the bugs pop up sometime soon
