What is writing random bullshit on your ballot doing to save Palestinians. You are literally doing nothing except handing another vote to Trump who cannot be reasoned with. He is a selfish, senile fuck. You're fucking over all the women and minorities in your own country to do LITERALLY NOTHING for Palestine because what you're doing for them isn't worth the dry dogshit stuck to someone's shoe. You want to help Palestine? Keep donating, buying eSIMs and spreading awareness. Refusing to vote, voting third party knowing it won't work as a worthless form of protest, or incorrectly voting won't do anything except hurt the vulnerable people in your own country.

It was so wild to me watching Latinos at those rallies saying they had family members who were here illegally and that they would be fine with them being deported.
Latinos went on TV & declared yes deport my family.
WTF are black people supposed to do to fix that?
answer : Not a damn thing. They’re gonna have to learn on their own. You’d think seeing Latino babies put in cages would’ve been enough but here we are.

This is important, but let's avoid immediately ending USA's democracy first, yeah?
Do not let this keep you from voting. You can vote and criticize and do activism about that criticism. Inaction never helps.
If you're not voting, ask yourself right now what you're doing instead. And if you have a strategy, great! But if your answer is waiting for a better option you're gonna watch the world burn, and waiting for someone else to put out the fire is only gonna get you so far.
The Democratic Party: "We are the champions of democracy! We believe in voting rights!"
Also the democrats:

real stupid of u to say "why do either of you give a shit we're in canada" as if trump being president doesnt affect literally the entire world considering the usa has military bases up the fuckin wazoo. i say this as a french person, it affects me and im a whole continent away. imagine you living right above them, you think hes not gonna affect you????
I feel that “I think American politics don’t impact my country so I’m choosing not to pay attention to foreign affairs” and “Two Canadian citizens engaging in a public screaming match on small town public transit about whether or not we can fairly call the flaming orange dumpster a felon- when the American justice system has already made it clear it doesn’t give a fuck so he’s facing no literally no consequences anyways- have about the same impact on Canadian democracy as a fart in a hurricane” are different statements

Dean Obeidallah at The Dean's Report:
On August 20, a little before dawn, 87 year-old Lidia Martinez was abruptly jarred awake by an unexpected knock on her door. The longtime activist who for over 35 years has worked to expand voter registration among seniors and veterans in south Texas, cautiously peered out the door. Standing on her doorstep were nine police officers dressed in tactical gear and carrying firearms. After showing her a search warrant, Martinez’s home was searched as she was forced to stand outside in her nightgown in her driveway in full view of her neighbors. Martinez was later questioned for three hours after which the police seized her phone, computer, personal calendar and more.
[...]
These bad faith searches orchestrated by Paxton were predicated on the claim that the people being investigated were registering non-citizens to vote—despite zero evidence presented of wrongdoing. Very alarmingly, if Donald Trump and House GOP have their way, these types of raids would be happening nationwide with federal law enforcement under a GOP President.  That is why GOP House Speaker Johnson is now demanding the proposed SAVE Act be included in any deal to provide funding to keep the government open.
To be clear, federal and state law already makes it a crime for non-citizens to vote. But this new federal legislation would establish criminal penalties for registering an applicant to vote in a federal election who fails to present documentation proving U.S. citizenship.  That means that what we are seeing in Texas is coming attractions of what the GOP wants to do nationally.
Keep in mind despite Texas AG Paxton’s two year investigation, no charges  have been filed against any of the people whose homes were searched.  Indeed, there may never be charges because even Paxton’s basis for the search is BS. In his press release announcing the investigation, the Texas AG presents no evidence of wrongdoing. Instead, Paxton makes baseless claims like these organizations have set up voter registration booths outside state agencies where people could register inside. Paxton’s press release literally includes this question with no answer: “Why would they need a second opportunity to register with a booth outside?” But nowhere in his press release does he even allege any criminal conduct—only questions.
And Paxton—a close ally of convicted felon Trump—showed his bad faith earlier in August on a radio show when he peddled lies about non-citizens voting. Paxton declared, “There’s a reason Joe Biden brought people here illegally. I’m convinced that that’s how they’re going to do it this time, they’re going to use the illegal vote. Why were they brought in, why did he bring in 14 million people?” adding, “He brought them here to vote.”   That is nothing more than the type of BS you hear on Fox News. But now Paxton has weaponized government by targeting people registering those he believes will vote for Democrats. The backlash to Paxton’s actions have been swift. LULAC requested that the Department of  Justice investigate Paxton's office for Voting Rights Act violations. LULAC CEO Juan Proaño and the group's national president, Roman Palomares, summed up well what is really going in their letter to the DOJ: "These actions echo a troubling history of voter suppression and intimidation that has long targeted both Black and Latino communities, particularly in states like Texas, where demographic changes have increasingly shifted the political landscape.”
The Texas GOPs voter intimidation tactics are based on the faux outrage campaign against noncitizen voting.

Felon Donald Trump arose glassy-eyed from his crypt of self-pity Friday morning to remind Americans he’s not just the first convicted criminal to run for president – he’s also a rambling, incoherent mess. Speaking of his conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to cloak a hush-money payment to former adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election, Trump babbled at reporters who had gathered inside Trump Tower in Manhattan. “Crimes crimes, they’re falsifying business records,” he said, looking exhausted and more half-crazed than usual. “That sounds so bad, to me it sounds very bad. You know it’s only a misdemeanor (FACT CHECK: These were felony counts) but to me it sounds so bad, when they say falsifying business records, that’s a bad thing for me, I’ve never had that before. I'm falsifying … you know what falsifying business records is, in the first degree, they say falsifying business records, sounds so good, right?” The man some actually believe is qualified to be president of the United States also claimed that witnesses in his trial were “literally crucified,” said President Joe Biden wants to “stop you from having cars” and said the judge who will sentence him on July 11 is “really a devil.”
Trump babbles incoherently about conviction. GOP should be afraid

is now a good time to talk abt "it's not about politics" in relation to sports. i'm sorry but literally everything is about politics are you stupid 😭 what a stupid sentence i hate it so much. and i've yet to see anyone draw a line in the sand about what "about politics" actually means. in the case of hockey it seems to be that visiting the white house isn't political, it's just tradition. but pride tape is too political, and the sport isn't about politics. in the case of f1, wearing a shirt to raise awareness for human rights is too political and why do you have to bring politics into our sport, but allowing a convicted felon running for president into the garage of one of the top teams is fine, bc it's obviously not about politics.
it's literally just a buzzword that people throw around to excuse some behaviour, and not others.
and i'm sorry, but in a world where professional athletes can go on podcasts and talk abt how they're totally not sexist, but they just don't think people should be allowed to get abortions, and where alex ovechkin has been basically doing the work of putin's PR team for the last twenty years, everything is fucking political. even staying silent and having no observable political opinions is still political, because ignorance is a privilege that a lot of people can't afford. there is no possible way to seperate politics from something as commodified and commercialised as professional sports

If y’all wanna know the extent of Americas hatred for women and how prevalent the misogyny is in America, 71 million fuckers voted for a convected felon child rapist who’s 78 and literally swore he will pardon himself once he becomes president, over a woman who’s actually a politician who’s even younger. They hate women so much, republican men are saying “your body, my choice”, rubbing it on women’s faces. This is a war on women’s rights and autonomy. This is a very dangerous time but don’t give up, don’t let those misogynistic republicans have victory. Keep voting in your local elections and don’t give up.

I KNOW he’s gonna find a way to worm his way out of it like the Worlds Biggest Bitch Baby that he is but… the thought of watching our future president absolutely eviscerate that orange sack of pond scum in a debate on national television make me feel indescribable joy. The mere thought of it makes me feel A L I V E.
I hope that if he refuses to debate her, she still stands up there by herself, looks directly into the camera and lists all the ways he’s a Scaredy Little Punk Ass Bitch.
Listen, Democrats might still have some understandable nerves (though listen to me, LISTEN TO ME: this is NOT THE TIME FOR MORE PANIC, THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO TALK ABOUT HOW SCARY THIS IS, WE KNOW! WE KNOW! THIS IS THE TIME TO GET TF IN FORMATION AND DO YOUR GODDAMN JOB!) but let me say this, the Republicans are LOSING it. They put ALL their chips on facing Sleepy Old Joe who don't talk so good anymore, and suddenly they have a 59-year-old lawyer and prosecutor who literally spent her whole elected career going after sex pests, frauds, and felons. (We remember how she made Brett Kavanaugh fucking cry at his confirmation hearing, right?) And suddenly, they have to bring it against Kamala. GODSPEED, DIPSHITS.
So yes, Trump is already whining SO hard about all the money they "wasted" going after Biden, laying the groundwork to escape getting his ass handed to him at the next debate, got stuck with a terriblawful VP pick (even Fucking FOX NEWS cut away from Vance's rally the other day because it was so boring) and suddenly realizing that he spent so much effort to make this election about age and mental competency when... now it's him. WHAT NOW, FUCKFACES. WHAT. NOW.
I'd also like to point out that abortion rights are going to be a HUGE issue, they have won everywhere they have been on the ballot (including in very red states) post-Dobbs, they will be on the ballot in several more important states (including Fucking Florida, not that I actually think we'll win there), and Kamala has a great record as a defender of reproductive freedom. Biden did his best, bless him, but sometimes the Old Catholic Man still leaped out. So the absolute fucking schadenfreude of having a black female president BEAT TRUMP IN A POST-DOBBS ELECTION??? MAGNIFICENT.
(As @silverbirching says: we wonder how many minutes it will take SCOTUS to row back the "president god-king" ruling if Kamala wins. We're guessing 15. That is, if Joe does not finally just embrace the fact that presidents are immune AND he is leaving office, and send Alito, Thomas, and Kav on a "special indefinite vacation" as an inauguration present.)
I am not overconfident. I know this is unprecedented. I know we don't have much time, and how hard this will be. This is not 2016 or 2020, and we all have to do the work and not let up. But if the Handmaid's Tale party is literally now trying to make "Kamala doesn't have children because she's an Evul Feminist" into their main line of attack, all I say is, Please proceed, chucklefucks. I'm sure that will go great.
