is it a universal first job experience to be put on closing shift and you're like "yay i get to come late in the day" but after a month or two of working straight closing shifts you're begging to work midshifts or opening

Has anyone else had two very different experiences with Adderall XR and IR? IR works great but doesn't last as long as my work shifts so my doctor switched me to XR and for the first 3-4 hours I feel entirely unchanged, and then I become unreasonably annoyed by everything. It's the same medication just with different release times so I don't understand why it's so different???
