It's kinda fucked up how I simultaneously need Tape 2 already and also dread it. Like I wanna know how it ends but I know it will destroy me and I want to live in the liminal space where everything can be potentially okay.

The way Swann describes the abyss in the memoir makes me think of the submarine in oxenfree. Whatever is down there is unbound by time, ghosts trapped before they even lived and long after everything is dead. Desperate to be again

SPOILERS FOR TAPE 1

Yuuuup I played Lost Records: Bloom and Rage & wanna share a few thoughts n theories about Tape 1 and how I think Tape 2 might go

I hope I don't just sound like a crazy Game theory Video bfksbdk

SO my dumb ass did not really notice any of the shadow figures, so I'm glad I sniffed through the tags on here lol My oblivious ass will always miss something

But after seeing some theories about those, I'm thinking like Kat probably starts a fire at the ranch and either Corey knows and chases after her or is sent to go look for her like seen before. As a kid, Kat would probably escape to the cabin as it's secret and safe and finds her way back to the abyss.

The girls will probably find her there cause "of course she's go to the cabin" and have a dramatic and emotional scene at the abyss

Enter Corey.

Pissed and confused (but mostly pissed) is upset about the incident, whether he saw her do it or finds out here that she did would both work. Another screaming match between the girls and him, possibly getting physical. With Kat's condition getting worse and knowing her time is limited, she'd probably be pissed that she's the one that has to die while "this fucking asshole gets to live"

And pulls him into the abyss with her - a sacrifice, vengeance, justice, and Kat getting to finally make a choice that's solely hers in her life. She wrote a song about "seeing Corey in Hell" and this feels like an awfully close second

As a newspaper on The Box says, there's a search for missing local (likely Corey since it'd probably say "child" if it was Kat) and well. . . He'd certainly be missing if he's in some sort of otherworldly abyss portal thing

And maybe one of em says Missing Child too, but I also believe Kat sent The Box. I'm not. . . Fully sure how ngl but that has been my first and main theory for a good while when I played the game. Maybe the abyss is some type of time portal or alt universe portal and she can send The Box (which I think is full of Swann's tapes maybe) to the girls in the future/main timeline

FINISHED LOST RECORDS!! and the global stats for relationships is FASCINATING. I thought for SURE Autumn (my romantic choice for Swann - she is SO FREAKIN' CUTE BOTH AS A TEEN AND ADULT!!) would be the popular choice, lol. I ended up slighting poor Nora more than I wanted to bc I didn't understand the r/s mechanics (I STILL DON'T) so I GUESS WE'RE NOT BFFS??? And ONLY FORMER FRIENDS AS ADULTS, OUCH. But it's notable how no one was able to reconnect with her, as of tape 1 at least. I'm guessing these stats can continue to change in tape 2 when that comes out. I STILL LOVE U NOR!!! She seems to have been the popular pick for romancing too - and I assume she's still married as an adult if you do! I lowkey thought I'D picked a doomed romance (of the straight girl variety) with Autumn - and while that doesn't seem to be the case, I'm interested in seeing how it develops further in tape 2. Did I end up picking the most viable one actually??? lol

Dear Kat.... I look forward to crying my heart out with the finale! I love her, had to be besties after Autumn. I would have bestied Nora too if I wasn't so afraid I'd accidentally romance her (girl is FORWARD lmao), but Kat snuck up on me with how much I ended up adoring that girl.

The game is overall so, so good. It has that same overly earnest awkward LiS magic I adore. It felt clunky at times in terms of landing the emotional beats towards the tape 1 finale, imo, but the pros still outweigh the cons.

Also, I saw a cute interaction on a Reddit post between a 16 year old (the same age as the girls in '95) and someone in their 30s that kinda sums up the magic of the game for me, talking about how they loved it and how the story resonated with them both. Super wholesome - and it's how I feel about it too as an also-someone-in-their-30s. If you enjoyed any of the LiS games, I can highly recommend this one, even without having yet played the second half! But ofc, feel free to wait until April 15th when the final part releases. Lastly...

I'm so sick rn so hopefully I make sense. My theory for the box is that it's full of Swann's lost tapes. It's probably a super popular theory but I've legit seen nobody even try to guess what's in the box and it's driving me insane I need to know what's inside lol. Also, I'd love for Tape 2 to be full of choices that alter the past significantly I think that would be awesome but I know it's way too complicated. My headcanon for Kat is that she's alive and she was the one who sent the box. What are your thoughts on the box and present day Kat?

The summer time romances in Lost Records are cute and all, but I don't see much of a reason to try and pursue romance with any of them as adult!Swann. They were sixteen. It was 27 odd years ago. They have all become very different people. No, I am not sucking down copium because Nora is married with children no no why would you ever think that 😭😭😭
