My doctor refused to sterilize me because my insurance would not pay for it and because his malpractice insurance would not cover him. I have a friend whose insurance keeps denying his adhd meds, he has to appeal, then they grant them. He’s done it 3 times, loses access to meds each time. It’s not his doctor.

At least in the US, it’s the fucking system and it hurts both doctors and patients.

Medical ethics are such a fucking joke.

Overwhelmingly the entire institution had the opposite effect of what it says it’s for, but the purpose of a system is what it does. And medical ethics denies care for aesthetic reasons while inflicting violence on vulnerable populations “for their own good.”

The political establishment was so afraid of FDR that they passed term limits for the office of president only, specifically for him. (And they had to tidy up the bullshit that happened when he was incapacitated but not dead as well, but that appears secondary)

I think term limits are a bad idea and the USA shouldn't have them. We don't have term limits in Canada, and we haven't devolved into a military dictatorship.

If the USA didn't have term limits then the forecast for the upcoming election might be yet another landslide victory for incumbent President Barack Obama. Can anyone look me in the eye and tell me that would be worse than the situation the USA is in right now?

Ok, when I lived in the District of Columbia I got called to jury duty within weeks of turning 18. I got called to jury duty and got to skip it 3 times while I was away at college. I got called twice more in the year I lived at home after dropping out of said college.

When I lived in Rhode Island, Utah, Washington State and Virginia, I have never been called for jury duty once. I have spent a majority of the time I’ve been an adult residing somewhere other than DC.

Oh fyi I’m white and DC was majority black when I lived there.

I have a sudden burst of curiosity because the US Government is bullying me.
