Have you ever experienced the annoyance of having sores in the corner of your mouth? It's like they appear out of nowhere, right when you least expect it! But don't worry, because you're not alone. Many people face this issue and are searching for ways to heal a sore in corner of mouth.
In this guide, we will explore effective methods to help you find relief and promote healing. By identifying the cause of the sores, maintaining good oral hygiene, using natural remedies for pain relief, and boosting your immune system, you can speed up the healing process and get back to feeling your best.
Remember, taking care of yourself is essential, and with these tips, you'll be on your way to healing those sores in no time.
Tumblr media
Key Takeaways
Examine oral hygiene habits and consider recent changes in diet or medication to identify the cause of the sores in the corner of the mouth.
Maintain good oral hygiene by brushing teeth at least twice a day, using a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste, and flossing daily to remove plaque and bacteria.
Use natural remedies such as aloe vera gel, tea tree oil, and warm saltwater rinses for pain relief and healing of the sores, but consult with a healthcare professional before trying new remedies.
If the sores persist or worsen, seek medical treatment as healthcare professionals can diagnose and treat the underlying cause, and prescription medication may be necessary for proper healing.
Identify the Cause of the Sores
To identify the cause of the sores in the corner of your mouth, start by examining your oral hygiene habits and any recent changes in diet or medication. Prevention measures and home remedies can help in healing these sores effectively.
Firstly, take a look at your oral hygiene routine. Make sure you're brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing regularly. Poor oral hygiene can lead to the accumulation of bacteria and irritants in the mouth, causing sores to develop. Additionally, using a soft-bristled toothbrush and avoiding abrasive toothpaste can prevent further irritation.
Next, consider any recent changes in your diet or medication. Certain foods, such as acidic or spicy ones, can trigger these sores. If you suspect a particular food is causing the issue, try eliminating it from your diet temporarily to see if the sores improve. Certain medications, such as those used for acne or high blood pressure, can also cause mouth sores as a side effect. If you suspect your medication is the culprit, consult your healthcare provider for alternative options.
In terms of prevention, maintaining good oral hygiene is key. Additionally, avoid sharing utensils or drinking glasses with others to reduce the risk of infection. If you have a habit of biting or licking your lips, try to break that habit as it can contribute to the development of sores.
Home remedies can provide relief and aid in the healing process. Applying a mixture of honey and coconut oil to the sores can help soothe and promote healing. Aloe vera gel, known for its healing properties, can also be applied topically to alleviate discomfort.
Maintain Good Oral Hygiene
Keep up with your daily oral hygiene routine to maintain good oral hygiene and prevent further irritation in the corner of your mouth. Preventive measures are essential in managing and healing sores in the corner of your mouth.
Start by brushing your teeth at least twice a day, using a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Pay close attention to the corners of your mouth while brushing, ensuring that you remove any food particles or bacteria that may be present.
Additionally, floss daily to clean between your teeth and along the gumline, as this can help prevent the buildup of plaque and bacteria.
Incorporate home remedies into your oral hygiene routine to promote healing and prevent further irritation. Rinse your mouth with warm saltwater a few times a day to help reduce inflammation and promote faster healing. Applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly or aloe vera gel to the affected area can provide a protective barrier and soothe any discomfort.
Remember to avoid any habits that can aggravate the sores, such as licking your lips or picking at the affected area. Stay hydrated and maintain a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals to support your immune system and promote healing.
Use Natural Remedies for Pain Relief
To relieve pain in the sores at the corner of your mouth, try using natural remedies. Herbal remedies and home remedies can be effective in providing pain relief and promoting healing.
One popular herbal remedy is aloe vera gel. Aloe vera has soothing properties that can help reduce pain and inflammation. Apply a small amount of aloe vera gel directly to the sores several times a day.
Another natural remedy is tea tree oil. Tea tree oil has antimicrobial properties that can help prevent infection and promote healing. Mix a few drops of tea tree oil with a carrier oil, such as coconut oil, and apply it to the sores using a cotton swab.
You can also try using a warm saltwater rinse. Dissolve half a teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water and rinse your mouth with it several times a day. This can help reduce pain and promote healing.
Remember to always consult with a healthcare professional before trying any new remedies, especially if you have any underlying medical conditions or allergies.
Boost Your Immune System
To enhance your immune system, incorporate a variety of nutrient-rich foods into your diet. Boosting your immunity can help protect you from various infections and illnesses. Here are some dietary changes you can make to strengthen your immune system:
Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables: These are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that support immune function. Aim for a colorful plate, including leafy greens, berries, citrus fruits, and cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower.
Include lean proteins: Protein is essential for immune health as it helps build and repair tissues. Opt for sources such as poultry, fish, beans, lentils, and tofu.
Consume probiotic-rich foods: Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that promote a healthy gut microbiome, which plays a crucial role in immune function. Incorporate yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi into your diet.
Stay hydrated: Drinking enough water helps flush toxins from your body and supports overall immune function. Aim for at least 8 glasses of water per day.
Limit processed foods and added sugars: These can weaken your immune system and increase inflammation. Focus on whole, unprocessed foods instead.
Seek Medical Treatment if Necessary
If you notice persistent or worsening sores in the corners of your mouth, it's important to seek medical treatment. While there are home remedies that can help alleviate symptoms, medical intervention may be necessary to properly diagnose and treat the underlying cause of the sores.
Seeking medical treatment allows healthcare professionals to examine your mouth sores and determine the most effective course of action. They can identify if the sores are a result of a viral or bacterial infection, a nutritional deficiency, or even a more serious condition such as an autoimmune disorder. In some cases, a simple prescription medication may be needed to clear up the sores and prevent their recurrence.
It's important to note that home remedies may provide temporary relief, but they may not address the root cause of the sores. While rinsing with saltwater or applying a topical ointment may help soothe discomfort, they may not be sufficient for long-term healing.

Femme Fatale Guide: Healthy Habits To Look & Feel Your Best Without Restriction or Unrealistic Routines
Realistic ways to maintain a healthy life/body/appearance (size and weight are all personal, not the most important metric – for certain). No diet culture or delulu-land tips here.
What I've done to maintain my 30-pound weight loss for over a decade, glowing clear skin (no pimples or discoloration, etc.), and super healthy, full & shiny hair, still living life and enjoying it – the mindful way.
Eat home-cooked meals & (plant-based) whole foods – 90-95% of the time
Incorporate at least 1 salad into my daily routine (either a large, hearty lunch salad or a simple green salad as a starter with dinner)
Include at least 1 fruit/vegetable in every meal or snack
Never restrict food groups – whole grains/potatoes, healthy fats, protein-rich plant foods, and produce are all essential to consume every day
Focus on meals, but have whole food snack options on hand to enjoy if genuinely hungry (mainly fruit, lupini beans, edamame, carrots/celery/cucumber with hummus, plain popcorn, handful of almonds/cashews)
Have breakfast after one coffee (before a second) and have dinner late enough (8-9:30 pm) to curb late-night hunger
Only have fruit and tea after dinner; Always stop consuming food at least 3 hours before bed for better sleep/digestion
Order whatever I want when going out to eat, but split dessert
Have at least one indulgent meal/dessert per week
No sugary cocktails – wine, champagne/prosecco, martinis, gin & tonic, margarita, French Connection, Sambuca, Grappa, tequila on the rocks, etc. are great options. Bellinis/fruit plus wine/spirits cocktails are a good middle ground. Sugary drinks worsen the hangover – big-time
Perceive healthy eating as a form of enjoyment, creativity, and nourishment, not restriction or deprivation (it's not if done liberally enough)
Consume a vitamin B12 and vitamin D supplement daily. Keep digestive enzymes on hand for when they're necessary
Always have a large glass of water first thing in the morning (before coffee) and by my side all day long
No soda, juices, sugary drinks, etc. Black coffee, tea, and water only on the daily – wine and no-sugar alcoholic drinks on rare occasions. Smoothies can be a great snack or breakfast, though!
Incorporate an (almost) daily walk into my schedule as a form of exercise and a mental health reset (I aim for 4-5 miles/10Kish steps per day on average)
Do short, low-impact strengthen training exercises 3x a week (15-30 mins each usually) for bone health & toning
Never forcing myself to do strenuous exercise/workout formally in a gym – it's not for me; it doesn't make me feel/look better and throws my hunger & energy levels way off. To each their own, though
Have a variety of playlists ready to go for waking up, working, dancing, walking/workouts, doing chores, and reading/relaxing
Internalizing that sexual health is a core aspect of your health & well-being – on all counts
Maintaining a simple skincare routine 2x per week with high-quality products and a couple of weekly treatments
Prioritizing my body care routine with as much as my facial skincare routine
Wearing at least SPF 30 daily
Exfoliating 2-3x per week
Learning what hair products work for my hair type; Using a deep conditioning mask and a scalp mask weekly
Using only cold water when washing my hair
Incorporating face & body massages into my weekly at-home routine
Using Uriage lip balm, hand cream, and deodorant religiously
Flossing 1-2 times a day/using an electric toothbrush

Writing Notes: Poison Ivy & Poison Oak
Tumblr media
Poison ivy and poison oak - plants that cause an allergic skin reaction in most people who are exposed to them.
Poison Ivy - generally thought of as a climbing vine, can also grow as a shrub or bush.
It has leaves that are elliptical in shape and grow in groups of 3 on a stem.
Common in the US, except in the southwest, Alaska, and Hawaii.
Poison Oak - grows as a shrub
Has leaves that are shaped like oak leaves and grow in groups of 3 to a stem.
Common in the US, especially on the west coast from Mexico to Canada.
Symptoms
The symptoms for poison ivy and poison oak are the same.
Usually the first symptoms to appear are: itchiness and
swelling in the areas of contact.
The itchy rash that follows is made up of small pimple-like bumps (sometimes referred to as papules), as well as
blisters that later break open, ooze, and crust over.
In most cases, the condition goes away in 2 weeks.
Not everyone is sensitive to poison ivy and poison oak.
However, 9 out of 10 people who come in contact with either of the plants will have an allergic reaction to some degree.
All parts of the plants are poisonous and the amount of time it takes for an allergic reaction to develop varies from person to person.
The extent and severity of the reaction depends on the length of exposure, type of contact, and how sensitive the person is to the plants.
If a person is going to have an allergic reaction, it will usually occur within one or two days of exposure. However, some people have a reaction within an hour, whereas others don’t experience a reaction until 5 days after the exposure.
Causes
The substance that causes the allergic reaction is the same for both plants. It is an oily resin called urushiol.
It only takes a small amount of the resin to cause a reaction.
The resin can be transferred to the skin by directly touching the plant or indirectly by coming in contact with something that has touched the plant, such as tools, animals, or clothing. Although animals are rarely affected, they can carry the resin on their fur and transfer it to humans.
According to the experts at the University of Maryland Medical Center, the ‘‘chemical [resin] can remain active for more than a year.’’
Treatment
Anyone who comes in contact with either plant should wash the exposed area with soap and water immediately.
Taking a bath immediately after contact is not recommended, because that could spread the resin to other areas of the body.
All clothing, including shoes and shoelaces, should be removed carefully and either washed separately or discarded.
For minor cases, hydrocortisone cream and Calamine lotion can provide relief until the symptoms disappear.
Over-the-counter Benadryl capsules help with the itching.
Some people find oatmeal or baking soda baths to be soothing as well.
Oral steroids, such as prednisone, are available for more serious cases, especially those affecting the face, eyes, mouth, or genitals.
If signs of infection develop, such as pus and a fever, patients should contact their doctors.
Patients should consult their physicians before they use any ointments that contain benzocaine or zirconium, because they can cause an allergic reaction that worsens the condition.
Antihistamine ointments are not recommended for the same reason. The experts at the Alabama Cooperative Extension System caution that ‘‘some people have severe allergic reactions to these plants and can have swelling in the throat, breathing problems, weakness, dizziness, and bluish lips.’’
Emergency medical care should be sought if any serious reactions occur.
Prevention
The best prevention is know what the plants look like and to avoid them.
A common saying should be kept in mind: Leaves of three, let them be.
People who plan to be in an area where poison ivy and poison oak might be found should wear protective clothing, such as long-sleeved shirts and long pants.
Eradication of the plants should be handled with care.
As stated by the experts at the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, ‘‘burning can be dangerous and is not recommended for disposal or as a control measure, because the toxic oil from the plant can be carried in the smoke.’’
Instead they recommend spraying the plants with glyphosate, which is commonly known as the brands Roundup or Kleenup.

HI BABE can u do reader with acne x sevika cuz ive been breaking out and i feel rlly bad abt it😓 needa little pick me up is all and whats the best way to do it than being delusional!
of course! i'm breaking out rn too because of my period we're twinning hehe!
men and minors dni
honestly? i think sevika finds your zits kinda cute.
they're like freckles... but they just change places. she treats them just like freckles or birthmarks-- like they're little 'x's marking the spot for her smooches.
sometimes, this results in her getting a mouthful of the medicated spot treatment you put on your pimples.
"bleh, babe, what the fuck?!" sevika groans as she pulls away from the sweet forehead peck she just placed on one of your newest zits. you laugh, helping her wipe the white cream off her lips.
if you're like me, and you're someone who picks at their acne-- sevika will always be there to smack your fingers away from your face. "quit it, you'll make yourself bleed." she pouts. she'll hold your hands in hers until she's sure you're distracted from the urge.
she'd find it adorable if you wear pimple patches or bandaids over your zits. she'd be buying you the cutest patches too-- the star ones or heart ones or little cartoons printed on the bandaids.

SKINCARE TOGETHER . BEOMGYU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
tw/cw ༝ 0.7k wc, very domestic and fluffy, i say beomgyu has oily skin but obviously idk if that’s true, beomgyu curses like once, lots of kisses mwah!
Tumblr media
“i’m home!” beomgyu takes a deep sigh of relief, finished with a longs day of work. he slips off his shoes, carefully setting his bag aside and dropping his keys in the designated bowl.
per usual, your footsteps are light, retreating from the bedroom and quickly making your way over to your boyfriend.
“welcome home, beomie,” you throw your arms around his neck, smiling as you look at him. you worked all morning while he worked all night making it hard to be together in the privacy of your own home. hence, days where he would be home earlier than expected, both of you cherished any time that could be spent.
he gave you a quick peck, his arms slithering around your waist, “had a good day?”
you hummed, fingers twirling around the strands of his brown hair.
“you hungry? i made you somethin’ quick to eat if you want,” pointing at the food on the table. whenever he had a bad day at work, a home meal can always lift his mood.
“i’m good, baby, thank you,” he sighs, “i’ll eat it tomorrow… right now i just wanna get settled into bed with you.”
you smiled, pressing your lips to his. beomgyu relished in the feeling, holding you tight against him. if he had known what the world had in store for him sooner, perhaps he would have chased after you and begun to learn the meaning of what he now knows is true love.
“did you already start getting ready for bed?”
“no,” you shake your head, “i waited for you… i know you like it when we start together.”
beomgyu rushes to shower and change his clothes, coming back into the bathroom to see you placing out the products you’ll be using.
“so… what are we doing today?” he asks, scanning the items while pushing his hair back with a headband.
“same as usual… i just got some more products for your skin type.”
“skin type?” he quips, not even aware of his.
you laugh, patting his cheek, “you have oily skin, beomie. don’t you realize that when you go out your skin looks super shiny despite not doing anything active?”
he furrows his brows, “i just thought that was sweat!”
“no,” you grin, “how could you sweat? you didn’t do anything. that’s why i always give you the blotting paper to use instead of a regular paper towel.”
he stares in disbelief, realizing all the stuff you’ve given him specifically for his skin type, “wow, you’re a lifesaver.”
“i know,” you boast, continuing to lay out the products.
following through with the routine was easy. you showed beomgyu what products to use starting from a mask, the cleanser, a serum, retinol, moisturizer, and acne treatment.
however, leading up to the treatment, beomgyu begins to whine and you turn to him with furrowed brows as you were putting on your moisturizer.
“shit!” he seethes, fanning at his face, “what the hell, y/n?!”
huffing, you finally ask him the issue at hand, “what’s the matter with you?”
“it burns! i placed a little of the acne thing on my pimple right here but now it burns!”
you roll your eyes, “oh, stop whining you big baby,” pushing at your skin once finally done with your routine, “that means it’s working. that’s a common thing to happen, just relax. it’ll go away eventually.”
beomgyu frowns, fanning his face, loudly hoping you’d do something to make it better. of course, you knew him better than anyone, willingly giving him what he wanted.
the warm sensation of your lips pressing against his cheek was far different and far better than the sting of the treatment. he felt healed of all the pain he felt in an instant, grinning from ear to ear.
you roll your eyes at his reaction, “are you happy now, you big baby?”
“very.”
“good,” you smile, booping his nose, “hurry up so we can go to bed.”
“wait…” his hand circles around your wrist as he sits up on the edge of the counter quickly gaining your attention.
“hm?”
he doesn’t say anything but you look at him and could read all the thoughts circulating his brain. your heart and face softens, your body standing in-between his legs.
you lean in, a reassuring kiss reaching his plump pink lips, whispering back the confession you could read from him.
“i love you more, beomie.”

Real Skincare Guide
Tumblr media
Level 1: breakouts, non-painful, a little scarring
Minimize your skincare routine, all you need is an oil cleanser (if you wear a lot of makeup) than a good foam cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Repeat the same routine before bed just without the sunscreen.
Wear sunscreen everyday!!!
Always apply more moisturizer than you think you need.
Drink a lot of water (2-3LT)
Get consistent sleep
Take a multi vitamins to balance your hormones. I recommend the One-A-Day Woman’s Vitamins (get a real pill cause the gummies don’t have enough iron)
Work on your stress (breathe work, meditate, journal, yoga, walks, going out with friends, therapy, etc)
Look at what body oils/shampoo/conditioner you are using. Could be your akin reacting poorly to something in there.
Level 2: consistant breakouts, acne, scarring
All the stuff for Level 1 apply.
Minimize your skincare routine and than slowly add back in stuff like hydrochloric acid and retinol. Having an elaborate skincare will just make your skin worse. First, focus on healing your skin barrier.
If you are a teenager, it just might be your hormones/growing pains. It will go away eventually.
Pimple Patches work and are especially good if you are trying to stop touching your face.
Wash your pillow cases every 1-2 weeks.
Try to sleep on your back.
If you pop a pimple than apply an antibiotic ointment.
No point in using anti-aging products if you are under the age of 25. It just won’t do anything for you.
Note that if you take in a lot of nicotine you will breakout. If you smoke and you have bad skin, it probably won’t improve unless you quit or lessen the dosage.
Level 3: painful consistent breakouts/acne/scars, redness, irritability, hurts,
Go see a dermatologist!
Acne is can be a real problem. If your acne is painful seek professional help.
If Accutane is recommended, than I would do it. Based only on the experiences of my friends, I have seen great results after a couple months. There are side effects and it is not for everyone but if a professional says you should than I might consider it.
No topical treatment is going to make those scars go away. You are going to need to laser resurfacing which is like this secret treatment rich people do to clear up their skin. It is expensive but really works. Beauty brands want you to think that the right cream can clear up your skin but if you have bad scarring you are only going to see real results with laser treatments
All of the above recommendations still apply
Your acne does not take away from your beauty or your worth as a human being. Remember that acne is normal and social media is fake.

93. Use upward motions to prevent sagging.
Eyes and Lips:
94. Use SPF lip balm to protect your lips.
95. Choose an eye cream with ingredients like caffeine.
Preventive Care:
96. Start a skincare routine early for preventive care.
97. Be patient; skincare results take time.
98. Embrace your natural beauty.
99. Avoid comparing your skin to others'.
100. Remember that skincare is individual; what works for one person may not work for another.
These tips can help you maintain healthy and radiant skin. However, always consult a dermatologist for personalized advice based on your skin's unique needs.

I plan on taking an out-of-town shopping trip with my mom in a couple weeks and she's been saving up all summer🥹 I haven't told her that I 🏋️ and I don't want her finding out mid-trip. I'm scared that if I tell her now she's gonna cancel the whole thing or lecture me abt the moral aspect of st3@l1ng and watch me like a hawk the entire trip... So my plan is to lift the majority of the skincare/makeup I'll need (which is A-easier to 🏋️ & B-easier to hide), which leaves more money for clothes/shoes which I can't 🏋️ without being noticed. Should I tell her or not? :/

Sunny in Philadelphia - A Joseph Quinn Story (Chapter 10)
Tumblr media
Chapter 10 - You Deserve Everything
You woke up the next morning to the sun shining in the hotel room window. Joe was asleep beside you on his stomach, one arm laying across you. Even in sleep, he had to touch you. You smiled at the sound of him lightly snoring into his pillow. You felt right at home sleeping beside him, and that was something you weren’t used to. It usually took you a long time to get used to being around someone new and to become fully comfortable, but Joe had a way of making you feel like you’d known him your entire life. You rolled over and leaned in to kiss his neck just below his ear.
“Wake up, sleepyhead,” you cooed in a whisper, continuing to plant kisses on him. He stirred lightly, awakening from his slumber. Once his eyes peaked open sleepily and he saw you close to him, a smile formed on his face. He wrapped both arms around you and pulled you to him, indicating that he was fully awake. He planted a slow kiss on your lips, stroking your cheek with his thumb.
“Good morning, beautiful,” he said softly. He looked you up and down. You were both still naked from your fun the night before. “And I do mean beautiful,” he added with a wink.
You giggled softly at his flirtations.
“Good morning to you, too, handsome.”
He ran his hand over your forearm affectionately, and peered down at the fresh tattoo of his signature on your arm that was a little under a week old. He smiled and kissed it.
“Love, I still can’t believe you did that.”
“I did it because of my love for Eddie as a character and you as an actor, but now it means something completely different. You’ll always be a part of me. You’re stuck with me, Quinn.”
“That’s absolutely fine with me, darling.” He briefly kissed you, climbing out of bed. “I’m going to grab a shower. Care to join me?” He reached an arm out for you. You smirked, getting out of bed and taking his hand.
“Don’t have to ask me twice,” you said flirtatiously, following his lead to the bathroom. He started the water to let it warm up. You stood at the sink with a makeup wipe, working on getting some of the old makeup from the night before off. You leaned into the mirror, running a finger over a few pimples on your face with a frown. You had been trying to get rid of the pesky blemishes for weeks. Joe watched you in the mirror, you too focused to notice. He reached for your hand, pulling it away from your face.
“Don’t, my love. I don’t care about them. You shouldn’t.”
You turned your head to him and smiled insecurely. He leaned down and kissed you, still holding your makeup wipe clad hand. He gently took the wipe from you and sat it on the sink, his lips not leaving yours. He placed each hand on the back of a thigh, hoisting you up to wrap your legs around his waist. You smiled and giggled at him, your arms around his neck, as he carried you carefully into the shower. He had such a way of making you feel like a princess without even trying. You were in Heaven every second you were with him, and you couldn’t believe he was staying with you all week. 7 days of constant Joe, another pinch-me moment, for sure. Joe stood behind you in the shower, gently massaging body wash over you with a washcloth. You stood there with your eyes closed, enjoying his touch. He put some shampoo in his hands and began rubbing your scalp with his fingers. It was better than any professional massage you’d ever had. He changed places with you to let you rinse, continuing to run his hands in your hair as the water washed away the shampoo.
“What did I do to deserve this special treatment, Quinn?” you asked him with a smirk.
“You’re mine, darling, and I like to spoil. May as well get used to it now.”
You’re mine. His words were music to your ears.
After the shower, the two of you began getting ready for the day so you could head back to your hometown. Joe gathered both of your bags and placed them by the door, so they were ready to go when you left. You were seated in front of the full-body mirror in the room working on your makeup. Joe came over and sat on the floor behind you, straddling you with his legs and rubbing your shoulders for a bit. He then pulled out his phone for the first time since being at the airport the night before, just to check any messages he hadn’t seen yet.
“Oh, shit.”
You stopped applying your eyeshadow and turned your head to look at him, concerned.
“What’s wrong, honey?”
He didn’t say anything. He just reached in front of you and showed you his phone. Your eyes widened. Displayed on his screen was a text from his agent saying “mayday” and a screenshot of an article with photos of the two of you kissing at the airport the day prior.
“Someone must have recognized me and took those.”
“Oh my God, Joe. I’m so sorry, this is all my fault,” you said, putting your makeup down and turning all the way around to face him. “I should have been more careful, I-“
“Darling,” he interrupted calmly, taking your hand. “It’s alright.”
“What? You-you’re not upset?”
“No, love. Well, it’s annoying that people invade my privacy like that at times, yes, but it comes with the job. I’m not upset about the world finding out about you. I was never going to hide you.”
“Really? I thought you would want to wait a little while. It’s only been a little over a week since we met, after all.”
“I mean, yeah, it would have been nice to introduce you to the world on my own terms, but it was only a matter of time before this happened, and it’s not your fault. I don’t want you to have to hide yourself or your care for me from the public. That isn’t fair to you, love.”
“I’m sorry, sometimes I forget that you’re well-known. I live in the middle of nowhere. I’m used to my life being private, no one caring about where I am or what I’m doing at all times. It’s just going to be an adjustment for me.”
“And that’s perfectly okay, darling.”
“I just don’t want to get you into any danger or trouble with publicity. A lot of your fans are going to be really angry about this, especially at me. I was a part of your following. I know how some people can be.”
“You won’t get me in trouble, love. I can’t stay single forever, it’s my decision to date. The real ones will care about my happiness, never mind the rest. I will always support you and you will always come first,” He pulled you in for a hug. This man never ceased to amaze you every minute you spent with him. He was so kind, gentle, worried about you before himself, didn’t get worked up about much of anything. You had never experienced anything like it, from anyone. Those photos could have stirred the pot in his career, and he wasn’t the least bit worried about it, but you – his first concern was you. He pulled out of the hug and held your forearms. “Besides, we are spending a week together in your town. This may calm down a little bit while I am away from the public eye. Everything will be alright, love. We will face this together, no matter what happens.”
“Joe, I really don’t deserve you,” you said, hugging him again, tears welling up in your eyes.
“Darling, you deserve everything.”

hello! you seem to know a lot about skincare stuff, so i'm curious what products you use for general daily use? i also have adult acne and it's very annoying. i would also appreciate any lip moisturizing ideas if you have any. thank you, and hope your day's going well!
oh yes! although fair warning that I am not a skincare expert at all (I don't even understand half the lingo that people use when they talk about products lol) so take any of my recommendations with a grain of salt...
other than sunscreen, literally all of the stuff I use is either from paula's choice, the ordinary, or good old cerave. I don't even bother trying other brands at this point because I assume they'll just be overpriced junk—plus, you can get almost all cerave products and a good chunk of the ordinary's products at, like, target. I'd also note that you don't need to (and really should not) go out and buy a million things at once; I have a pretty good arsenal at this point but it took me a couple years to build it up by trying one or two new products at a time and seeing what I like.
both paula's choice and the ordinary have "shop by concern" sections on their websites, so if you want actual targeted advice about what to try then I would definitely defer to them lol. but for some specific examples of what I like:
diehard fan of cerave face soaps. they have a foaming pump and a non-foaming pump, depending on whether your skin is more oily or more dry. I mostly use the latter, but since noelle uses the former I'll occasionally steal a pump of the foamy one if I'm having an oily streak lol.
likewise with cerave moisturizer, specifically for your body, but also works great on your face as a final skincare step. will not make you break out. however (important info incoming!!!) the pump lotion is far inferior to the giant tub of lotion—the pump stuff is just kind of watery and sad in comparison. get the tub. you deserve it.
the ordinary hyaluronic acid 2% serum is another "help I have dry skin but also acne" lifesaver. you can apply it directly to (damp!!!) skin or (wet!!!) hair or put a couple drops in your lotion for extra-moisturizing lotion. but it works by drawing outside moisture into your skin/hair, so make sure you're not applying it to dry skin/hair or it can backfire and actually dry you out.
paula's choice enriched calming toner = dry skin savior.
for acne specifically, paula's choice pore-reducing toner fucking rules. it's not harsh at all so you can use it as much as you want. pairs well with paula's 5% AHA exfoliant (which only use when I'm really flaky, since it is a little harsh, but you can temper it by applying lotion right after).
the ordinary azelaic acid 10% suspension is a little tingly, so I only use it when I'm actively breaking out (which tbf is often lol), but it's a great at starving out pimples.
from the paula's choice CLEAR line, I looooove the purifying clay mask. I use this one a couple times a week as needed, usually right after I get out of the shower, and then I'll wash it off and do the rest of my face potions as usual. even if my skin is pretty clear I just like how tight and clean everything feels after. I also recently tried the CLEAR 5% benzoyl peroxide daily skin clearing treatment (only because I got it as a free gift... otherwise I would Not have tried a benzoyl peroxide product lmao. bad memories of childhood acne treatment snake oil shit.) and was surprised how much I liked it, although I've been applying it verrry sparingly. the bottle recommends applying it (1) to your entire face and (2) EVERY DAY, but I've had luck using it as a sporadic spot treatment. pairs well with the enriched calming toner.
I've also been using this prescription tretinoin cream off and on for the past year (from the dubious skincare-as-a-service online pharmacy "forhers" lol) and it's Good but not a miracle. my skin is already pretty sensitive so I try not to use it that often, but it would probably work a lot better if it did. also makes you photosensitive as hell so watch out (sunscreen is a must).
specifically for lip moisturizer, nothing beats plain old burt's bees lip balm imo but if you need something heavy-duty I do like the paula's choice lip and body treatment balm. it's a little greasy but has great staying power and the tub lasts forever!
also important to note. you should always do stuff in this order: wash your face (duh) > toner > other stuff > lotion/moisturizer. I know you're supposed to do the "other stuff" in a specific order if you're stacking multiple products but tbh I just kind of wing it lol.

(day 16) 5, 8 & 21 from prompt 17 for haru? tysm!
Of course, my dear! Thank you so much for sending in a request about our lovely Haru! She’s always so much fun to write for. I hope you, and the other lovely readers, enjoy these little headcanons 😊
5) Do they have a skincare routine? If yes, how involved is it?
Haru definitely has a skincare routine. I do see her as someone who gets really into makeup and skincare as she turns into a teenager. She definitely has beauty bloggers who she religiously follows, and she reads up on what is best for her skin type. Until she became a teenager, she washed her face morning and night just with soap and that was enough.
As she grows into a teenager though, her skincare becomes more involved. In the morning, she uses a gentle formula face wash and washes her face with cool water, then puts on a toner.  After that, she uses an essence formulated to help with her dry skin, and she uses a serum once a week with hyaluronic acid. Then she puts moisturizer and once that’s sank in, she uses a sunscreen that’s SPF30 at least. At night, she uses cleansing oil, and she exfoliates once a week. She uses an alcohol-free toner at night and then a heavier moisturizer at night. Her essence goes on again after that. If she notices any pimples, she uses spot treatment on them and once every week or so, she’ll use face masks as an extra treat for her skin.
8) Name two or more things your muse can’t leave the house without
It really does vary. If Haru’s in her school days and heading to school itself, she’ll make sure she has her backpack with her books, homework, and whatever other school supplies she needs. She also carries at least one extra hair elastic with her, tampons, lip-gloss and lip balm, her phone, and a book for pleasure reading to school with her. If she’s heading out for the day with friends off school time, she carries lip gloss/lip balm, her wallet, her phone, and depending on the time of month, feminine products. If she has promised to bring something along with her or has something to give someone, of course she brings that along as well. I also do think that, after really falling in with Tsuna’s family and being around the kids so much, she starts carrying snacks for the kids with her as well. This habit becomes something that she carries with her into adulthood, where she’ll always have a couple hard candies or some sort of snack with her.
21) In a relationship, are they the ones stealing their partner’s clothing? Or are they the ones having their clothes stolen?
Haru definitely is one of those people who think it’s really cute to wear your partner’s clothing. She’s going to steal one of her partner’s hoodies, that’s for sure. She’ll either insist on them spraying their cologne or even spray deodorant on the hoodie too, if it’s freshly clean, so that the sweater will smell like them. It’s even better though when she borrows a hoodie they’ve been wearing, and she won’t want to wash it until it stops smelling like them. If her partner will fit in her clothes, she’s definitely going to be completely fine with them borrowing her clothes as well. With another female partner, or even a partner who shares her size and likes wearing female-coded clothing, she’s going to have a pretty open-closet policy where she’ll borrow from their closet and let them borrow from hers and will even suggest outfits or accessories from her closet that she thinks they’ll look absolutely amazing in.

please tell us about your 15 step skincare routine
I'm so glad someone asked! (Pimple mentions incoming!!!)
Here are my steps, in order, with time and materials (also this is just my morning routine, not my nightime one):
Before I do anything (this is kind of gross, I know) I go through and check for acne and blackheads and all that fun stuff, because I'll have to treat them later in the process.
Every morning I hop in the shower and wash up. This is important because the steam is great for my face, and it saves time so I don't need to use a steamer. I don't wash my face in the shower, though.
While I'm in the shower I use an exfoliating body scrub to remove any dead skin and such.
I shave once I'm out of the shower, because I don't really go for the scruffy/grizzled look. I use this amazing buttery soft shaving cream that moisturizes my skin, it smells like honeysuckle.
I wash my face using a gentle unscented cleanser. I have really soft washcloths specifically for this purpose.
I use some eye cream- look, I am aging, and I would like to say it's with grace. I started doing this to prove to Bruce it would be useful, and so far it's been good. He hasn't tried it out yet.
I use a toner because ugh my pores- I know I don't technically have to, but I like it, okay? Besides, like I said, aging.
Then I use a serum that I got as a gift one year and I cannot stop buying it. I use an antioxidant serum in the mornings, and a vitamin C serum at night.
Once that's in place, I use a nice moisturizer because my skin does what it wants and what it wants in rainy weather is to dry up like the Sahara.
Back to the acne, like- ugh. Acne appears so quickly and I am so mad nobody told me it lasts after your teen years. I use a more intense acne treatment at night, usually, but Tim bought me some of those cute star stickers that get rid of pimples and I am obsessed, so if I feel confident enough I'll slap some stars on my face. Especially if I don't have work. Anyways, back to the process.
So, like, I know a lot of people like to put on face oil but I am constantly fighting my skin so I have to apply it super carefully and lightly. Because my skin is dry and oily and annoying.
I do a lip scrub here, because obviously.
Chapstick. Look, I consider this a step because it is slept on, it is so important and people keep skipping it for themselves. I use a beeswax chapstick that has SPF 15 in it.
Once all of that is done I generally move on to my "second" skincare routine where I apply body lotion and all that. Yes I consider this part of my skincare routine. Your skin is your skin, even if it's not your face.
Okay so once that's out of the way I have to put on sun screen because I need it. Yes, even in the fall/winter! Your skin still absorbs UV rays when it's cold, and I am not taking any chances.
My nighttime routine is really fun and includes a mud mask, but is pretty similar to everything above except with a bigger focus on adding nutrients to my face/skin overnight, as well as treating acne a little more aggressively.
Honestly I don't know why Bruce doesn't try to do it every day, it's really not that complex.

🍞 2022 favorites for skincare, makeup, and fragrances
tagged by @nito-onna 💌
thanks for tagging!! it’s been a while since i’ve done of these, but to start, i don’t use makeup or fragrances so i’ve listed my entire skincare routine to make up for it (you can read about theresa’s preferences here instead hehe)
krave matcha hemp hydrating cleanser (old formula)
i have dehydrated, sensitive and combo skin that’s also clog prone and reactive, and this cleanser doesn’t strip me raw (given that i do the rest of my skincare routine afterwards). i only cleanse at night with a smaller than pea sized amount which also helps.
pyunkang yul essense toner
my morning watery step. been using this for the last 3 or so years. i like to do multiple thin layers (between 2-3 in summer and up to 5 in winter) which seems to help with my dehydrated skin......... have yet to find another toner that’s as hydrating as this
cosrx advanced snail 96 mucin power essense
my night time watery step. slightly thicker/tackier than the pky toner so i use this on a dripping wet face. this stuff hydrates me nicely when paired with an occlusive (see: vaseline) compared to when i don’t use it because i can feel a difference! you’ll also find that all my skincare products are fragrance free and relatively scentless/neutral smelling.
muji moisturising milk moisture
from their sensitive skin range. i used the high moisture one previously and found it a bit meh? possibly clogging? this one’s meant to be in the middle of their tiers of hydration and it definitely is lighter but still not perfect. like my toner i also layer with this using thin layers (normally 2 but sometimes 1 or 3 depending on how i feel)
the ordinary squalane oil
for my desert dry cheeks, i love this stuff because i feel like it keeps my skin water in!! also quite soothing. probably one of the few products that truly belong on a ‘favourites’ list haha super effective when the air’s humid too.
vaseline
seals everything in on my cheeks as well! thin layers only and for night time use. slugging and anything else heavier/thicker than a cream that’s used all over my face clogs me so bad haha
burt’s bees lip balm
another favourite that i love a lot!!!!! smells soooooo tasty i want to try all the flavours. my favourite scents so far are vanilla and mango. i’m currently using watermelon!
azclear azelaic acid medicated lotion
spot treatment for my acne! also works well on blackheads. most effective on my forehead because it’s oiliest there and this stuff dries out my skin (my cheeks don’t need to get drier!). also helps heal my acne faster and stops it from fully blowing up if catch something coming up early
cosrx acne pimple master patch
essentially a bandaid for my face when i accidentally pop a pimple and it bleeds. i also use it when i’m worried of popping a head and or when i’m in a scratchy mood................. definitely works best and heals those big ones faster!
tagging most recent muts @gyu @evenofmyday @pollen :)
