James and Sirius walk in the front door carrying bags of groceries.

“He’s got you so whipped. You treat him like fucking royalty. I promise he’ll survive even if he doesn’t have his specific brand of tea.” Sirius says the last words in a mocking tone.

“First of all, I never said he wouldn’t survive if he didn’t have the tea. He would have been fine. Right now, you’re the one acting like you won’t survive because it took 10 extra minutes to stop at the other shop.” James tells him.

Sirius puts his bags down, crosses his arms and opens his mouth presumably to defend himself, but James cuts him off.

“Second, I wanted to get him the tea. I like doing these things for him. He doesn’t ask me for them or demand I do them. I just know the random little things that make him smile. And if taking 10 extra minutes to stop at a second shop means I get to see his soft, adorable, morning smile when he opens the cabinet tomorrow and sees his favorite tea, that’s completely worth it for me. If that means I’m whipped, so be it.” James shrugs.

They’ve finished putting the groceries away and are now leaning against the kitchen counter.

“And third, of course I treat him like royalty. I love him and I would do anything to make him happy. It makes me happy to see him happy. And if I get to be the one to make him happy? God, it’s one of the best feelings in the world. So yeah, he deserves to be treated like a king, and I’m happy to treat him like one.” James says simply.

Sirius is quiet for a moment just staring at James.

“You are such a sap.” Sirius finally tells him.

“You are so getting laid tonight.” Regulus tells him as he wraps his arms around James’ waist.

just hear me out, the cloak and the map? perfect stalking material. Maybe it starts off innocent, James just wanting to check up on Regulus for some reason or James wanting to know more about his best friend's little brother but it spirals out of control quickly. One moment he's watching Regulus' name move on the map, the next he's under the cloak and trying his hardest not to be detected. He's sneaking into the Slytherin dorms, he's trying to figure out how close Regulus' friends actually are to him.

and I feel like I don't have to explain at all for Regulus, I feel his family name and legacy speaks up plenty. Regulus is smart, Regulus is cunning. He caught on quite quickly that he was getting trailed around. Maybe not knowing who at first, but he at least can tell when footsteps not matching his own sound off around him. He mentions wanting one thing, within the week it's his, he mentions doing something but just being too busy, suddenly at least half of his plans are cancelled. After a long journy to the Creme Republic, you was surprised to find this huge city, you was expecting to be like the acients kingdoms, but this was other level, the place so white and clean and the water feel so clean so diferente of cand-ish water you was starting to get use to it

The firts one to "greeting" all of you was Capitan Carviar Cookie, who was waiting near the waters to scool you all where the concil is going to see you, he mostly was annoyed, he dint belive in the rumors, was too crazy to be real, a Witch in the cookie kingdom? it was too ridicolus, but the Council was too worried to be true he just follow them, so was a absotluly surprised seeing the rumors was true

even so, he let his surprised aside and soon you and the cookies was near, gides you where the Council is, a place was a little far away of the city, alredy your big size let the cokies of all the leves of the republic see you, was a little of panic and fear from all the cookies for this "giant monster", but the paladins make sure to keep everyone calm and go back of what they doing

Once there, it was justa improvise place the Council made to meet you, of corse was full of paladins, ready to charge the firts order was giving but a little away so not to scared you or treathing you

The Council itself was well, surprised, confused, and shoked and worried, they expected you was big, but not this big, seeing they faces of unconfrtable of you, not a big surrpsied...

“Reg, what are you doing in here?” James asks when he finds Regulus sitting on their bed with all the lights off.

“Sulking.” Regulus flops back on the bed. 

“Why are you sulking, love?” James moves to sit beside him.

“I’m 30, James. 30 years old.” Regulus dramatically throws his arm over his eyes.

“Okay…?” James questions with a smile.

“I’m 30 so I’m sulking.” Regulus says simply.

“Reg, there’s no reason to sulk just because you’re 30.” Regulus moves his arm just to glare at James. James laughs softly and takes Regulus’ wrist pulling him to sit up. Regulus goes willing but then slumps on James’ shoulder. Again, being over dramatic.

“Let me ask you this. Do you feel any different than when you were 29?”

“Not really.” Regulus reluctantly huffs after he thinks about it for a moment.

“And did you love me any less when I turned 30?” James asks and Regulus looks up at him with a mischievous smirk.

“A little.” Regulus says as his smirk turns into a smile.

“Oh, shut it.” James bumps him with his shoulder and Regulus lets out a small chuckle making James’ smile grow.

“Just think of it this way, the older you get, the older Sirius gets.” James tells him.

“He does hate getting old.” Regulus says thoughtfully.   

“Mmhmm.” James hums as he stands and pulls Regulus up. “Now come on, your friends are waiting.”

Regulus huffs and lets James pull him out of their bedroom and trudges after him into the living room. As soon as they enter, Sirius’ eyes light up.

Barty had never had a sweet tooth. It's not that he disliked sweet things more, just they weren't his thing. He preferred salty or savoury or sometimes sour or bitter. Lemons or salted cucumber slices or popcorn with enough salt the ocean was endangered. Black coffee and liquorice. That's just how Barty liked things, just his taste.

Evan was the complete opposite. He hardly ever detached his mouth from a Lollipop, or bubblegum, or some sort of hard-boiled sweet. He reeked of all things sweet, toffee, and hot cocoa. Like walking into honeydukes on a summer day; that's what his jumpers and robes smelt like. Sugared tea and candy hearts. That's how Evan liked things, his taste.

That's what made them such an unlikely pair. Hardly anyone would believe how much they loved each other. That Barty would willingly mash faces with the embodiment of a sugar cube or that Evan would agree to do the same with someone who would probably enjoy a salt lick as a birthday gift.

If you looked closely, you'd see salt and sugar grains aren't so different, easy to mistake. That's Evan and Barty, so different yet so similar. Bittersweet, like candied peel or burnt sugar. Sweet and salty like salted caramels or popcorn from the cinema. They just complemented one another in a way no one could quite understand, not even themselves.
