unpopular opinion numero 3 which is slightly connected to 2:

✯ baby-jack and a handful of the domestic au’s are BORING (see disclaimer again ⇧), not just on a surface level to my suiting, but also because I feel like it just ..misses the point of the show?

the ragtag untraditional found family is now as nuclear and traditional as the Atomic Age. Dean and Cas are the most heteronormative “who wears the pants in the relationship” gay couple ever, Sam is demoted to the uncle that gets written out of his own family, Jack is just there to make his gay dads look cute and emphasize that they’re a gay family (while still being very heteronormative), and at least 5 of them could be found in a California gated community. everything that made any of them unique or defined their personalities is just scrubbed off, even for an AU.

so much of the later seasons focus on Sam and Dean realizing that they don’t have to make a hard splitting decision between the lives they want to live; that they can find a balance; be happy and have good things—namely families—without giving up hunting (and vice versa, that they can have hunting without giving up on family or happiness). everybody loves the gay hunters from S10(?12?) and what they represented for Dean, but I almost never see that be put into practice in the fandom.

THEY’RE ALREADY DOMESTIC!!! AND WITH THAT PERFECT BALANCE!!!! Season 13 quite literally gave Team Free Will a surrogate son to raise and established them as a family; highly untraditional, largely dysfunctional, overall not fitting of a family family, and yet they are a family still. Dean wears an apron and cooks and bakes for everyone; he built himself a man cave and established two separate family night events that they all ritually keep up; Sam has a morning jogging routine and visits his girlfriend every so often; Jack was taught how to drive, has normal chores like washing dishes, and gets groceries. And they didn’t just have that while fighting monsters—they had that while fighting a whole fucking archangel. Even if it did go down the gutter by the end, they still had it: domestic familial bliss and violent messy hunting without having to trade one for the other.

✯ I truly genuinely think Jack’s relationship with Dean is the best, most interesting and most misunderstood out of the three, and I also think that the problems with his relationship to Cas and Sam are hugely overlooked by the fandom—granted they are very small, especially if you’re comparing it to Dean, but they’re still there and I think we should bully Cas and Sam about it more. I shan’t elaborate because it’s 5AM and this was an impulsive add-on ❤️

I love seeing Shirou not cheat, not just because he's such a gOod pERsOn who finds Kenji to be this perfect man, but because he recognizes that he's risking something not worth risking. love that he'll never find anywhere else, that's not just built on attraction but years of care and commitment. It's such a human reason and idk i see cheating brought up as this like "don't do this it's just wrong" and rarely goes over the reality of being married for 10+ years and having a working pair of eyes and sex drive.

Ooooh okay, this is juicy. While she is pretty religious, it doesn’t come from a place of intolerance or thinking she’s better than anyone. It’s more like a comfort thing for her, she often spent time alone as a child and would find comfort in thinking God and her guardian angel watched over her all the time. It’s also a thing she associates with her grandparents, who often took care of her when her parents were too busy tending to Lazarus in the hospital. She’s not homophobic, in fact she does know her brother is gay and is aware of the crush he has on Samson and will be supportive of him when he’ll start dating Jacob B U T once Dogma will possess her, she’ll fully become a religious zealot and refuse to engage with her sinful brother (and whole family tbh).

As for the poly thing, even the most open-minded people can be closed off in some other ways. While Bethany doesn’t think being gay is a sin, she still sees marriage (and romantic relationships in general) as something sacred, just between two people completely devoted to eachother. She can’t really wrap her head around the fact that four people can be equally devoted to one another and have a perfectly normal relationship. She was also shocked to see Maggy — a person she thought was a beacon of faith — doing something so heinous as (what she thought was) cheating on her partner and taking advantage of him, so that also played a part in that. When it turned out Maggy was also living with three men and wasn’t married to any of them, she kind of exploded.

At first Bethany thought that Maggy was dating only Azazel because they’re the ones who act the most like a couple in public, both Apollyon and Judas aren’t too great with PDA. Bethany met them both in church and thought Judas was just their mutual friend who drove them there sometimes. I don’t know if she knows Apollyon already but probably not. And also you can go a bit darker where you can touch on the topic of how old sleazy men are often in positions of power in women's sports and they coerce the young aspiring teenage girl players into sexual relations and maybe the reason girl sae wanted girl rin to quit was because something terrible happened in Spain and she wants to protect her sister... And there can be discussions of body issues and eating disorders not that boys don't suffer them either but teenage girls are statistically more affected by them...

But anyways i think it would be amazing if there was a sports manga where there are all the traditional tropes of popular sports manga like haikyuu and kuroko no baske and prince of tennis... All the extensive sports analysis and commentary and insane matches and skill that borders on Naruto powers and the hype and rivalries and the underdog defeating powerful opponents and a huge cast of different various players where some are nice some are mean some are arrogant and they all have thier own insecurities and feelings that they are not enough...but instead of teenage boys it's teenage girls and i would really like to see crazy ass teenage girls play soccer like in blue lock... i HATE the reboot in general

the thing i hate most is the timeline of the reboot. in the beginning, chris states that this takes place 15 years after td, which was a cool concept bc woah we can see how the cast is doing! that was until the creators decided to just scrap that whole idea (bc owen def would not look the same after 15 years)

now the timeline is messed up bc the reboot has modern technology, but also takes place when the og cast still look the same?

the writers do not know how teenagers work. no, they arent all influencers w/ 9,999,999,999 followers who say "hastag revenge hashtag besties!!!" like... at least the og td had a better grasp on how teenagers acted (at least in that time)

Okay so reboot s1 is my favorite season & gen 4 (or 5 depending on who you ask) is my favorite cast, but there’s a lot of stuff I agree with here
