✯ baby-jack and a handful of the domestic au’s are BORING (see disclaimer again ⇧), not just on a surface level to my suiting, but also because I feel like it just ..misses the point of the show?

the ragtag untraditional found family is now as nuclear and traditional as the Atomic Age. Dean and Cas are the most heteronormative “who wears the pants in the relationship” gay couple ever, Sam is demoted to the uncle that gets written out of his own family, Jack is just there to make his gay dads look cute and emphasize that they’re a gay family (while still being very heteronormative), and at least 5 of them could be found in a California gated community. everything that made any of them unique or defined their personalities is just scrubbed off, even for an AU.

so much of the later seasons focus on Sam and Dean realizing that they don’t have to make a hard splitting decision between the lives they want to live; that they can find a balance; be happy and have good things—namely families—without giving up hunting (and vice versa, that they can have hunting without giving up on family or happiness). everybody loves the gay hunters from S10(?12?) and what they represented for Dean, but I almost never see that be put into practice in the fandom.

THEY’RE ALREADY DOMESTIC!!! AND WITH THAT PERFECT BALANCE!!!! Season 13 quite literally gave Team Free Will a surrogate son to raise and established them as a family; highly untraditional, largely dysfunctional, overall not fitting of a family family, and yet they are a family still. Dean wears an apron and cooks and bakes for everyone; he built himself a man cave and established two separate family night events that they all ritually keep up; Sam has a morning jogging routine and visits his girlfriend every so often; Jack was taught how to drive, has normal chores like washing dishes, and gets groceries. And they didn’t just have that while fighting monsters—they had that while fighting a whole fucking archangel. Even if it did go down the gutter by the end, they still had it: domestic familial bliss and violent messy hunting without having to trade one for the other.

✯ I truly genuinely think Jack’s relationship with Dean is the best, most interesting and most misunderstood out of the three, and I also think that the problems with his relationship to Cas and Sam are hugely overlooked by the fandom—granted they are very small, especially if you’re comparing it to Dean, but they’re still there and I think we should bully Cas and Sam about it more. I shan’t elaborate because it’s 5AM and this was an impulsive add-on ❤️

I live in a state without bathroom bills, so arrest wasn’t a threat, but it was still really fucking scary, and I don’t think I’m going to do it again. I usually dislike using any gendered bathroom for the exact same reasons. They all feel unsafe. I try not to use public bathrooms at all, because usually there isn’t a gender neutral restroom. i think it's really important to note that like. The other side of the "all trans women are nonbinary" coin is "all amab nonbinary people are women" to these people, and they do consistently misgender people they perceive as amab nonbinary, both by calling them men if they're not fem enough, women if they perform any kind of femininity, and just deciding they are actually afab if they look a certain way. One of the consequences of TMA as a descriptor is that it just flattens all amab trans experience into Transfem experience. And it can be okay for coalition labels to exist (trans as a term obviously describes a wide variety of experiences) but it often feels like it intentionally erases the existence of people who DO live their lives as Nonbinary, vs maybe having some gender fuckery they keep to theirselves to avoid actually having to deal with exorsexism. I love seeing Shirou not cheat, not just because he's such a gOod pERsOn who finds Kenji to be this perfect man, but because he recognizes that he's risking something not worth risking. love that he'll never find anywhere else, that's not just built on attraction but years of care and commitment. It's such a human reason and idk i see cheating brought up as this like "don't do this it's just wrong" and rarely goes over the reality of being married for 10+ years and having a working pair of eyes and sex drive.

I also love how Shirou tried to date a masculine woman (which is consistent with his conformist nature! He rlly tried to find the easy way out of being attracted to men. the loophole). I still remember this one guy who tried to date me and then got icked out when I wanted to kiss him (it was a sad moment. i sometimes want to cry when i think about it) so it's the part that resonated with me the most. Because I understood it, rather, I was forced to.

Bethany is really religious, right, to the point where she comes into conflict with Maggy when Beth learns she’s in a poly relationship. Is Bethany homophobic at all? Does she know Lazarus is gay?

Ooooh okay, this is juicy. While she is pretty religious, it doesn’t come from a place of intolerance or thinking she’s better than anyone. It’s more like a comfort thing for her, she often spent time alone as a child and would find comfort in thinking God and her guardian angel watched over her all the time. It’s also a thing she associates with her grandparents, who often took care of her when her parents were too busy tending to Lazarus in the hospital. She’s not homophobic, in fact she does know her brother is gay and is aware of the crush he has on Samson and will be supportive of him when he’ll start dating Jacob B U T once Dogma will possess her, she’ll fully become a religious zealot and refuse to engage with her sinful brother (and whole family tbh).

As for the poly thing, even the most open-minded people can be closed off in some other ways. While Bethany doesn’t think being gay is a sin, she still sees marriage (and romantic relationships in general) as something sacred, just between two people completely devoted to eachother. She can’t really wrap her head around the fact that four people can be equally devoted to one another and have a perfectly normal relationship. She was also shocked to see Maggy — a person she thought was a beacon of faith — doing something so heinous as (what she thought was) cheating on her partner and taking advantage of him, so that also played a part in that. When it turned out Maggy was also living with three men and wasn’t married to any of them, she kind of exploded.

At first Bethany thought that Maggy was dating only Azazel because they’re the ones who act the most like a couple in public, both Apollyon and Judas aren’t too great with PDA. Bethany met them both in church and thought Judas was just their mutual friend who drove them there sometimes. I don’t know if she knows Apollyon already but probably not. Eventually those four people she shunned are going to become her in-laws lmao.

Dorian chooses!!!! DORIAN CHOOSES!! Basil and Henry are both different forks on the same kind of hedonistic, idolatrous paths. Basil wants to put him in art; Henry wants to put him into the world. They're BOTH fucking Pygmalion and Dorian is their Galatea--it's just that the medium they both use is different. And Dorian can tell!!! He can see!! He realizes that Basil sees him like a pretty thing to keep around to inspire him! He KNOWS that Henry's ideas poisoned him!! AND YET!!

HE CONTINUES TO GO BACK TO BOTH, depending on what he wants the most at that moment!!

AND IN THE END HE BECOMES A WORSE VERSION OF BOTH OF THEM BECAUSE HE CONTINUES TO CHOOSE BAD DESPITE HAVING SEVERAL OPPORTUNITIES TO STOP.

The manipulation? Using people for his own pleasure and then throwing them away when he's bored of it? The hateful, bigoted, judgemental thoughts? Ruining lives because that's convenient for him? The deaths of MULTIPLE people, probably considerably more than we know about? Dorian does ALL OF IT, again and again and again, because he wants to.

We revisit him throughout SEVERAL points in his life, all of which it's very apparent he wants for nothing and can do whatever he pleases. At ANY OF THOSE MOMENTS, or any of the ones between, he could have chosen to do good. But the same way he chose to hurt Basil because he enjoyed it, he chooses to fuck around and cause chaos because he likes it. The ability to do bad was always, ALWAYS inside Dorian, and both Basil and Henry were fascinated by it because it served different parts of their own vanity.

Basil liked Dorian the way you like a filter on a camera, and he thought Dorian left everything that HE made looking more beautiful. It's made abundantly clear that his biggest concern was the art he was creating, and Dorian was key to it. Henry liked Dorian the way you'd like a phonograph, where you can hear everything you've said reflected back at you, but in a different way with different tones. They are BOTH narcissistic in their approach towards Dorian, WHO IN HIMSELF IS NARCISSISTIC IN HIS RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER PEOPLE. No one is good here!!! No one is a purely good person!!!!!!!!

And everyone else, except fuckin' Sybil Vane, is bare minimum kind of shit. We don't meet a SINGLE other character that's a glowing representation of what mankind can be, who doesn't have some sort of flaw. And like.

I'm a trans dude, and 100% top, older than most of you guys, and my experience as a top in the gay male community spans 10+ years. And the hug each other and look lovingly into each other eyes and there are no guys and it's amazing...

And also you can go a bit darker where you can touch on the topic of how old sleazy men are often in positions of power in women's sports and they coerce the young aspiring teenage girl players into sexual relations and maybe the reason girl sae wanted girl rin to quit was because something terrible happened in Spain and she wants to protect her sister... And there can be discussions of body issues and eating disorders not that boys don't suffer them either but teenage girls are statistically more affected by them...

But anyways i think it would be amazing if there was a sports manga where there are all the traditional tropes of popular sports manga like haikyuu and kuroko no baske and prince of tennis... All the extensive sports analysis and commentary and insane matches and skill that borders on Naruto powers and the hype and rivalries and the underdog defeating powerful opponents and a huge cast of different various players where some are nice some are mean some are arrogant and they all have thier own insecurities and feelings that they are not enough...but instead of teenage boys it's teenage girls and i would really like to see crazy ass teenage girls play soccer like in blue lock...
