#like the problem is i HAVE to eat veggies with meat

that's a very good question! i'm making a post about this because i've gotten this question a lot and i feel it may help some people!
i was experiencing a lot of different GI symptoms at the time and trying to figure out what was wrong. i started struggling with food- i lost my ability to digest meat, dairy, and eggs. i started vomiting and having diarrhea often. i lost my ability to digest leafy greens, vegetables with thick skins, and other veggies and fruits. i would feel nauseated and bloated after just a few bites of food. i was experiencing a ton of pain as well
i had an endoscopy at the beginning of the year that showed some inflammation and other problems, as well as a hiatal hernia at the time. i had to pester that hospital to get a follow up appointment and when i met with their provider they ordered a ton of tests to rule out whatever we could. i was ordered a gastric emptying study, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and a CT scan. they did find issues in the colonoscopy (diverticulosis, inflammation without infection), but what became a priority was that they discovered stones in my gallbladder on the CT scan. the thing that helped the most was the CT scan, for sure.
that became the top priority to focus on. at the time i was used to the pain so it was hard to describe. now in retrospect i can. what i was feeling was a very sharp, aching pain under my right breast. it was always there but would get worse during those periods of digestive upset. i could barely keep down food. it was getting harder and harder to eat no matter what i tried. eventually i had to progress to liquids only, then i became lightheaded and it was hard to breathe or stand upright, and that is when i went to the ER and got my emergency surgery
when i was in that much pain it was radiating into other areas of my body like my groin and back. it was so intense it was all i could think about. it feels like a pain in the ribs, but it's not. i was convinced i just had something going on with my ribs or it was a result of bad posture. now that it's removed i can remember the pain quite clearly and i can definitely say that's all gone now.
hopefully this can be of help to someone. if people have more questions i'm happy to answer!

white americans will look at a photo on google of a minced meat dish and say "well I can't see any seasoning"
white americans will be like oh british food is so unseasoned and underspiced and then talk as if taco bell is extremely flavourful. this is true I've seen it happen multiple times.
#red said#'oh british food is flavourless and unseasoned' shows picture of black pudding and sausage#have you eaten those things???? have they ever been unseasoned?????? there's seasoning cooked into them!#that last poll. 'shepherds pie (unseasoned)'? yeah man that would be gross. luckily you're meant to PUT SEASONING IN MEAT.#looks at a picture of a hamburger. gross look at all that Unseasoned Meat. bet that would be really bland if you didn't put flavours in it.#it's not relevant. because like. you do.#sure n the case of most of these foods the seasoning is salt pepper and onion. but that's not 'no seasoning'#also worcestershire sauce which truly does make a huge difference to meat#like idk it is just a bit baffling#you have already decided this food is bland before you eat it even though 90% of what i encountered in America#was also. uh. red meat seasoned primarily with salt and pepper.#and sometimes chilli cumin coriander and or mace. all of which are popular seasonings here also.#like they're the same white ppl foods man idk what to tell you. lightly seasoned meat. potatoes.#now if you want to talk food crimes let's talk veggies bc the traditional Brit approach of boiling every vegetable until it's soft? obscene#treat your veggies with respect. fry or roast them. curry them. wilt greens in butter. boil or steam them al dente.#why are we not roasting British cooking for vegetable maltreatment? why's it always about the meat???#do you know how many miserable bleached carrots i have endured? i love a carrot! why are people so cruel to carrots? give that bitch bite!#you know why shepherd's pie is good? because it forces even bad cooks to keep some of the flavour from veggies INSIDE THE FOOD#people will straight up boil a vegetable for hours then pour away every scrap of flavour or vitamins in the water#don't attack brits for not seasoning MEAT attack people for not seasoning VEGGIES. or cooking them with any care for flavour.#mind you maybe that's an us problem bc my czech partner laughs at me for wanting more vegetable than 'lemon wedge' with meat and chips

My biggest hangup with cooking vegetables with my dinners is that it’s impossible to purchase one portion of most veggies. Like, eating by myself, I’ll never need an *entire* sliced onion, or whatever number of veggies get bundled into one purchase, like a bag of green beans. How can I work around this so I’m not wasting money by using half a product and then letting the rest go bad?
2 things.
First: Do you have access to refrigeration?
If you have a fridge, you can put the green beans in the fridge to prolong their life.
If you have a fridge, you can cook enough food for 3-4 meals and then before sitting down to eat your portion of dinner, put the extra meals in an airtight-sealed storage container in the fridge so you can eat it for lunch tomorrow & dinner the next day.
Most cooked food is good for like, 4-5 days in the fridge. Having leftovers available means I don't have to cook tomorrow, I can just scoop some into a bowl, put the rest back, and reheat what's in my bowl using a microwave or stovetop pan.
If you don't have access to refrigeration, come back and we'll talk about options.
--
Second: "I’ll never need an entire sliced onion"
..... wwwwwwhaet? Hi, my name's bewilderment, nice to meet you. What on earth are you talking about?
Eating an entire onion is fine. You're allowed. Onions are tasty. You can also eat raw onion on salads, tacos, & various other shit.
I've never encountered a casual dinner recipe that could be ruined by cooking a whole onion instead of half of one.
You're allowed to eat a meal that's just a huge pile of cooked onions & green beans with spices on it. It's great. There are no food cops that will materialize at your door to stop you.
You're also allowed to eat just an entire can of green beans as a meal, or just a whole bag of carrots.
You're also allowed to cook your whole sliced onion, and use some of the cooked slices in tonight's meal, and store half of the cooked onion in the fridge to drop into a noodle dish tomorrow night.
You can also cut the onion in half, use half of it tonight, and half of it tomorrow. Leftover raw ingredients are also an option.
--
I guess I'm a little confused why you're holding on to produce and not eating it - or you're buying so much produce that you can't eat it all in 1 week.
Fresh produce should get priority when choosing what to eat. If there's fresh veggies & fruit available, every meal should include some.
Stir Frying uses a lot of fresh veggies all at once, so is a good option if you need to quickly use it up.
There's loads and loads and loads of vegetable-heavy recipes available online. Write down what ingredients you have a lot of and look for recipes that include them.
Making SOUP can also use basically ALL your remaining veggies, if they're reaching the end of their lifespan. Soup broth can be frozen for months.
You can also chop a bunch of veggies into itty bitty bits, dump the whole pile into pan with some oil, fry until they start to change color & soften, then dump in a can of diced tomatoes & a shitload of herbs and spices to make Sauce to use.
For the rest of the week, all you need to do is cook some noodles, meat, or hell - bigger chunks of vegetables!
--
If you have a hard time remembering when a vegetable might go bad, or keep forgetting you have a vegetable so it sits in the fridge till it rots - stick a whiteboard to your fridge, with a dry-erase marker.
Write the NAME of the veggies and the DATE you put them in, and the DATE you need to eat it before.
When figuring out what to cook check that list and pick 1-2 of the oldest veggies so you can use them up before they go bad.
--
If the problem is forgetting your veggies exist when they're out of sight in the bottom drawers of the fridge, then don't put them in there!
For a long time, I put most of my veggies in the little shelves on the fridge door, and put all my sauces in the bottom drawers, so I could immediately see all my produce every time I opened the fridge.
--
My advice boils down to:
Eat larger amounts of vegetables.
Eat vegetables with more meals.
Seek out recipes that use them, if you don't know what to do with what you've got.
Use refrigeration to prolong the life of both raw ingredients and leftovers.
Make and Eat Leftovers.
Keep track of your produce better so you know what's more likely to spoil soon & can eat it before the bacteria do.

whos the best ghoul cook? do you think they have any weird eating quirks (like water ghouls eating raw fish, mountain chewin on his terra cotta plant pots, fire ghouls needing to eat more bc of higher body temp, anything like that)?
Did I ever tell you guys that I earned a scholarship to culinary school? I couldn't go, but cooking and baking remain passions of mine that I do NOT get to talk about enough.
But now you've given me an excuse >:)
So here, a BUNCH of my cooking (and favorite food) headcanons for the ghouls and Papas alike!
(There's some murder ghoul content here, mostly in Alpha's section - couldn't help myself 😌)
Aeon isn't one for cooking. Loves eating food, certainly, but not making it. He's more of a snacker, partly because it's more convenient but mostly because he doesn't have the attention span to do much more than microwave instant noodles. He's not picky though, will eat whatever is put in front of him as long as someone else has prepared it. Also doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, more of a salty/savory guy. Favorite foods include hot cheetos, thick cut beef jerky (good to gnaw), and whatever appears on his plate at meal times.
Aether is a ghoul of simple tastes. He'll cook when he has the time, but it's going to be one of his four go-to recipes every time. Always some format of protein + starch + veg, with a complementary sauce. He meal preps every weekend after his retirement so he can have easy meals to microwave and eat in the infirmary. Isn't the biggest fan of cooking with company, unless they're willing to stay out of the kitchen and not interrupt his routine. Has a weak spot for bananas. Favorite meal is one-pan roasted chicken, potatoes and asparagus with rosemary and garlic from Mountain’s garden.
Alpha does not cook, wouldn't dream of it. He doesn't even deign to eat human food most of the time, turns his nose up at it when offered. He likes his meat raw, and wants to hunt it himself so he can feel the blood run down his chin. Any prey is fair game - if he finds you in the woods, you'd better hope you can outrun him. (You cannot.) Favorite foods include the flesh and organs of anything with a pulse.
Aurora likes the idea of cooking, but in practice...well, she tries. She's impatient, is the problem - what do you mean simmer for 20 minutes? She's hungry now! She inevitably rushes everything she makes, no matter how much input she gets from the others, and has yet to learn her lesson. She also has a MASSIVE sweet tooth, they can't keep enough sugary snacks in the pantry as far as she's concerned. Favorite foods include spaghetti with butter and cheese (one of the only things she can always get right), boxed brownies and any kind of fruity candy she can get her paws on.
Cirrus can cook pretty well, if she says so herself, but it's rare that she does it for anyone but herself. She has very particular tastes, and doesn't want to have to adapt them for others. She loves organ meat and bitter vegetables, enjoys the intensity of those flavors while the smell alone keeps most of the others away. Oh well, more for her! She'll eat anything thats made for her though, especially if its served on a silver platter by someone on their knees. Favorite foods (aside from the aforementioned organs) mostly include healthy things like fresh fruit and veggies, steamed shellfish and lean meat.
Cumulus is more of a baker than a cook, but enjoys any time spent in the kitchen either way. She's the type to make a day of it, in her comfiest clothes with music playing while she dances in front of the stove. Her food is never the prettiest, but it's made with love and tastes so much better for it. Her favorite things to bake are cookies and pies, but she doesn't eat many sweets herself. Prefers seeing the others enjoy them. Favorite foods include homemade bread (she has a sourdough starter named Breadly) with lots of butter and flaky salt, anything citrus-forward and wants her proteins heavily spiced (not spicy, she has a low tolerance, but loves the fragrant flavors of herbs and spices).
Dewdrop doesn't advertise it, but he's one of the best ghouls to have in the kitchen. His precision and attention to detail are second to none, and while it doesn't make him particularly fun to share a kitchen with it does make him an outstanding cook. He likes very intricate, involved recipes because he can use them to showcase his skills (and earn a whole bunch of praise at the dining table as a bonus). Loves spicy food, which everyone assumes is due to him now being a fire ghoul, but he's actually always enjoyed a good burn. Favorite foods include any meat served on the bone, fermented foods (kimchi and sour pickles especially) and anything smoked.
Ifrit does not know how the stove works. He survives on protein bars and any leftovers he can pilfer from the abbey kitchens. Food is not a thing he's super interested in, just takes what he needs to fuel himself, and would rather follow in Alpha's footsteps anyway. He likes to hang out at the lake every now and then with Mist, though - she'll pop up from the water every now and then with a nice plump trout to toss his way, which he will roast with his bare hands. Doesn't really have a favorite food, but does like crunchy things.
Mist, if she isn't sharing her spoils with Ifrit, will keep her catch for herself. She's small enough that one good-sized lake fish will tide her over for the day. She does prefer them raw and whole, always a bit on the feral side, but she can be convinced to join the others for sushi if the offer arises. Favorite foods include anything alive and not poisonous in the lake, and cookie dough ice cream (don't tell anyone).
Mountain is overall considered to be the best cook amongst the ghouls, and definitely has the goofy apron to prove it. Naturally skilled and adaptable, he enjoys preparing meals for his pack and will do so with anyone that wishes to lend a hand. Usually it's Cumulus or Sunshine, but they all keep him company at one point or another. He grows much of the produce used in their kitchen himself, all of it fresh and delicious, but Mountain does not eat a bite of it. He's a total carnivore - the closest he gets to eating his homegrown goodies is including them in a stew but avoiding them in his own bowl. Favorite foods include rabbit, venison and this one Vietnamese style grilled beef and rice noodle dish that Dew makes.
Omega learned to cook by osmosis, if you ask him. Time spent under three Papas will do thay to a ghoul. He doesn't cook much, but he's excellent at crafting simple, filling pasta dishes that are good for the soul (so to speak). Also treats it as an excuse to drink plenty of the good wine stashed away in the abbey's cellars - blame Terzo for that habit. Favorite meal is fresh pappardelle served with roasted tomatoes, basil and spicy sausage.
Rain doesn't cook if it involves more than the microwave, not because he can't but because he prefers to be waited on. Breakfast in bed, charcuterie plates in the afternoon, specially prepared dinners to make sure he's kept happy - none of it is necessary, but Rain can't help how much he loves being served. Good thing no one minds giving him the royal treatment. He will also indulge in the odd raw fish during a swim, but only does it beneath the surface, away from prying eyes. Favorite good is soup, any kind, but he prefers brothy ones over thick or creamy styles. If he had to pick a single favorite varitey, it would be miso.
Swiss is only allowed in the kitchen because he's good with a knife. He can burn through prep work like nobody's business, but that's where his skill set ends. He's caused one too many greasefires to he trusted at the stove, and every time he's put something in the oven he's forgotten about it until smoke filled the room and the ghoulettes had to magickally air it out. But he can chop like a food processor, so he gets the knife pass. He's another one that'll eat anything put in front of him, with one exception: eggs. Can't stand them. Favorite foods include red meat served rare, really dark, bitter chocolate and anything with hideous amounts of garlic.
Sunshine is chaos personified in the kitchen. She loves to experiment with flavors and techniques, but has yet to have anything close to a success. Pasta with pesto and pineapple (alliteration is fun), chocolate covered avocado balls (with bacon, because why not), a tuna sandwich made with coconut yogurt instead of mayo (it's healthy!) - these are but a few of the food crimes that have lost her solo access to the kitchens. This girl could burn cereal, and no one wants to see that. She does love to eat though, and will frequently hang out when someone else is cooking so she can sneak bites whatever they're making. Favorite foods include cheese (all kinds), sour candy and all the orchard fresh peaches she can get her hands on.
And for the Papas:
Primo had to learn his way around the kitchen from an early age, thanks to the responsibility of raising his younger brothers falling onto his shoulders. He learned by watching the kitchen staff - a pair of elderly Sisters with so much skill in their gnarled hands that Primo couldn't look away. He never got very good at it, mostly sticking to a handful of reliable dishes that could be made cheap and easily for the three of them. His favorite of the bunch was also the one thing he was best at making - a simple mushroom risotto.
Secondo took to the kitchen like it was second nature, once Primo could trust him to not chop a finger off. Would spend hours poring over cookbooks and learning by doing, eating his own failures so his brothers wouldn't have to. He really enjoyed making simple but hearty comfort foods, lots of rib-sticking braises and stews filled with herbs and veggies from Primo's modest garden. He even cooked the last meal they ever shared together, on that fateful Uno night. It was his favorite, a lasagna constructed from fresh sheets of pasta, homemade ricotta, spinach and a simple tomato sauce, served with roasted garlic focaccia.
Terzo did not get the cooking gene, aside from being able to boil water for his tea. It wasn't a big deal since his brothers picked up the slack, and he decided there were other things that took priority - like music, history and how to retain a full head of hair after age 30. He preferred drinking over eating anyway, mostly saw food as something to put in his stomach to cushion the wine. He was a man of simple tastes, and his favorite thing was a humble sandwich of mortadella, provolone and spicy pickled peppers.
Copia never had to learn to cook, raised by the Clergy and doted on thanks to a not-so-subtle suggestion from Sister Imperator. More than a little spoiled in that sense, he would also go on to be the most worldly Papa in terms of his tastes. So much time spent traveling the world helped to expand his palate, and he got into the habit of sending pictures and descriptions of his favorites back to the abbey so the kitchen staff could figure out how to replicate them. It's impossible for him to pick a favorite, but thanks to so much time spent in LA he does have a real soft spot for Mexican food. Tacos al pastor in particular, but without the cilantro (he has the soap gene).

headcanon: how some of the bg3 camp members cook
wyll and karlach always cook together, karlach heats up the pan or sears fish and meat with her hands while wyll gleefully cuts up veggies. he‘ll usually tell some story while karlach listens like a little kid. they make decent food, camp is usually quite content with the quality. astarion will always say „a la karlach“, when he eats a piece of grilled meat or fish. they really enjoy each other’s company and karlach likes to learn new things. halsin favors natural stuff. he’ll start off with glazing figs or dates in honey or just cutting veggies and fruit in cool shapes. but then: the raw meat shit starts. he’ll talk your ears off about how nature intends meat or fish to be eaten raw bc otherwise it eliminates all the vitamins and nutrients. tav will initially try and have to stop themselves from gagging, while halsin watches excitedly. camp usually tries to plan vegetarian options, when it‘s the bear‘s turn to cook. gale THINKS he can cook. like is truly convinced he‘s a master chef. he refuses to use magic since he „knows what he‘s doing“. this is a man who will destroy any piece of fish or meat he has in front of him bc he has no idea how to debone or cut meat properly. he thinks some mushrooms aren‘t poisonous when cooked to smithereens (even though they def still are). he will slave around the pot and think he made the best thing ever only for tav to have to stop laezel from spitting it out in front of the poor guy. it‘s usually mushy, unseasoned (or undercooked) and gives camp a stomachache. jaheira always volunteers to make something in addition, a salad or a dessert so at least something is edible. jaheira actually knows what she’s doing. cooks very homely and keeps giving people more food than they need. “you’re too skinny”, she says as she plops another portion onto astarion’s half-eaten plate who’s already extremely full. she’ll scold karlach for ignoring her veggies, but will sneak a lot of them in the sauce. she’ll secretly find out what the groups’ favorite meals are and surprise them with reminders of childhood or home. while she’s cooking, everyone has a job. wyll cuts veggies, shadowheart washes dishes, laezel helps tenderize meat, she’ll send gale on a useless errand so he doesn’t screw anything up in the kitchen, tav makes the plates, halsin picks flowers and makes sure gale is busy, astarion makes sure the wine is airing properly, karlach helps with dessert. shadowheart is the ultimate almond mom. her meals are always a protein with a heap load of salad and an apple as “dessert”. the portions are tinyyyyyy and she will say she’s full after two bites. no one is really that full after she cooks, but it’s definitely healthy and tastes decent. could use some seasoning. astarion cooks very well, but is a massive diva in the kitchen. he will shoo everyone away or hiss when someone touches a kitchen utensil he just put there on purpose and it needs to stay there so he knows where it is. he’ll keep mumbling “no one ever helps me”. it’s usually super fancy and he will explain in detail everything he did and how he achieved the specific aroma or aftertaste no one can actually taste. it tastes amazing though. after he cooks, he sleeps like a log. laezel cooks essentials, like very „it’s all you need“, and it looks like it too. plating is not a thing for her, she will plop it onto a plate and basically throw it at you. if some things fall off…that’s a you problem. it's usually very protein heavy with just a whole paprika or onion on the plate. what she will make is a spicy as fuck sauce. it tastes amazing, but some members in the camp won’t be able to handle it well. her typical “tchk” will sound through the camp when shadowheart complains about the heat.
i will add more upon request and with ideas :)

should be sleeping but I’ve got too many HCs for these characters so pls have some food related ones~
Leon
has a broad palette and will try anything once - has definitely eaten all manner of insects, arachnids, and offal, and been alright with most of them
always tries the local cuisine if he has time on missions, considers it one of the perks of the job
kinda lactose intolerant but he ignores it (don’t we all)
like he'll eat an ice cream and be fine but he should stay away from milkshakes
loves oreos (thanks Nick) and chocolate covered liquorice
comfort food: lasagna (something his mother used to cook. he could never get the recipe right)
also sweet breakfast foods. loves pancakes and waffles and french toast and croissants and—
certified tea hater. doesn’t see the point, it tastes weak and weird to him (Sherry probably tries to find a tea he likes, he always takes a sip to try it but nothing more)
his diet directly correlates to his mental health - his appetite just vanishes
he also generally forgets to eat a lot
at his worst, he’s ingesting nothing but power bars and espresso and maybe a banana
starts to cook properly again after Vendetta, and it becomes a hobby
had many mishaps in this time period (ruined more than one pot by accident) but he enjoys it
buy him cultural/ethnic cookbooks, he’d be thrilled
Chris
diet is consistent and generally well rounded. doesn’t really snack.
probably eats too much meat though, he needs some soup or a salad or smth
loves a good BBQ but is actually kinda bad at grilling (refuses to acknowledge this)
sweet flavoured popcorn (particularly caramel) is his guilty pleasure, he’ll devour a whole packet in 2 seconds flat
can cook pretty well and finds a sense of peace in doing so
HATES grocery shopping though
tends to eat the same meals over and over bc they’re easy/habitual, especially when he’s stressed
has a huge breakfast - scrambled eggs, avocado toast, cooked mushrooms, a small bowl of oatmeal and yoghurt, a large coffee or glass of orange juice (lucky the BSAA has a mess hall that cooks for him lmao)
will absolutely fall asleep if he gets too full. total food coma
keeps a bag of gummies on him during missions for his team, if their blood sugar gets low (usually Piers)
(alpha team defs try to fake it so they can have a snack)
eats bananas like they’re going extinct, just grabs one when he goes out the door. they’re perfect snacks to him
he’ll also just walk around eating a whole carrot. probably not in public but like, I wouldn’t put it past him
Piers
is as responsible in his diet as he is in everything, but he’s not overly restrictive
he loves a good routine and he eats in the same way, having the same meals every day for a month or two before he switches it up
goes out to eat often enough that he gets his variety that way
he loves cereal. he'll eat it any time of day and in any weather
really likes seafood, the fresher the better - not as much as steaks tho, obviously
WILL criticise how you cook steak until you do it the “right” way
eats fruit salads and veggie sticks for snacks (and genuinely enjoys them, the freak (affectionate))
really likes ice cream though. total comfort food
also hot chocolate
he’s a sucker for a mocha
at complete odds to his usual diet, he’s a complete garbage monster in the adrenaline drop after a mission
get this man some carbs NOW
will devour whatever is in front of him so long as its hot and there’s lots of it
takes hangry to a new level, good lord
it’s something of an inside joke (and a genuine warning) to never raise problems to Piers until after he’s eaten a meal
#idk they’re just on my mind a lot yk#anyway this is based on nothing but vibes so don’t take it serious lol#rottalks

Are any of the guys in the nonhuman AU restricted to purely carnivorous or herbivorous diets? Or does the monster boy part imply that they can eat things beyond what their animals counterparts would in nature? On that note, can the predator ones stomach raw meat safely and does it have any nutritional benefits over cooking the meat? Thank you!
I would say their all generally capable of omnivorous diets, but certain kinds of beasts prefer certain foods, and some may have food sensitivity problems. Bunnies boys will prefer veggies, beasts like Leona prefer meat, and dog/wolf beastmen might get upset tummies from chocolate though they don't have to worry about it actually killing them unless they have an actual allergy.
Some can stomach raw meat, but it's generally advised to not do so since consumption of raw meat leads to ingesting not good bacteria and possible parasites.

You entered the big kitchen, the smell of spices and meat making your mouth watering. You were now waddling a little because of your thick legs. Your body was soft and plump, and you were slowly getting chubbier, this was clear for everyone but you. You were still wearing your favourite clothes even if they felt tighter. As you walked to the kitchen counter Thatch's eyes met your beautiful soft figure. He smirked a little knowing full well that this was partially his fault, but he couldn't help himself. He knew that it was common to gain a little weight in good relationship. You two have been dating for a while now, and he always treated you to the best food, giving you bigger portion to make sure you ate enough and spoiling you every time he could. That day you were wearing a pair of high waisted jeans and a short croptop that showed off your belly roll a little. As you sat down, a roll of chub spilled over the waist of your pants and Thatch smirked noticing it, he seemed to enjoy it a lot.
"Ohh, this smell so good, what are you making?"
You asked stealing a piece of meat from a plate.
"A rich fish soup, some steamed veggies and fried rice, also lots grilled meat."
He replied filling a plate and handing it to you so you could test it. You started to eat it slowly, enjoying each bite. He came behind you and slowly massaged your shoulders as you ate. He slowly moved down to your midriff, pinching your cute rolls.
"You're definitely looking better with the extra weight."
He said chuckling, but you didn't notice him as you were too lost in the amazing taste of your food. Once you were done, he patted your tummy and told you that was just an appetiser as he fed you a piece of grilled meat. You didn't mind the constant spoiling, actually you loved it. You worked hard everyday, and whenever you stopped by the kitchen, he was always welcoming you with a smile and some treats.
"Those jeans are looking uncomfortable, do you want me to help you?"
He said caressing your hips, you nodded lightly and he opened them, as he did so, your round belly spilled in your lap. He started to massage it as he kissed your neck and shoulders. You closed your eyes relaxing under the touch of his big hands.
After a few minutes, other people started to arrive, you sighed deeply and tried to close your jeans again, but, it didn't worked. So you got up, but you still had troubles. Thatch chuckled and patted your tummy affectionately.
"My my, you're really plumping up nicely."
"What? What are you talking about?"
You asked confused, he chuckled and pinched your back rolls.
"Those are telling a different story, my love. You're so adorable and innocent, you didn't noticed how much weight you're packing on."
"Am I?"
"Of course you are, all the treats and seconds and thirds serving I bring you? You look so adorable with your mouth full and when you ate a bit too much? Then you get the most adorable expression ever! Don't look at me like that, you don't have to be sad it's normal to get a little cin healthy relationship, it's part of the love process."
You looked nervous, but he was there to reassure you. He held you in his arms and hugged you tightly.
"You'll always look perfect to me, my love"
He said kissing your forehead. He kept saying sweet things to you, until you felt better, then he kissed you deeply and lovingly. But after a minute, you remembered about your gut problem. Thatch seemed to understand you as he took an apron and made you wear it to hide your little problem.
"Wait for me in our room my love, and then everything will be fine."
He whispered in your ear and slapped you plump ass a little. You smirked and kissed him, before leaving the kitchen, knowing full well that he would bring you more food for the both of you and then showing him all his love and devotion to you.
As you entered your shared room, you looked at yourself in the mirror, you round gut pushing against the fabric of the apron. You slowly took it off, revealing the plump form you've failed to notice lately. You admired yourself in the mirror as you thought of his hands caressing and loving you. You felt beautiful even with the extra weight and rolls, they were part of you and you were gladly to accept them as a result of the best relationship you ever had.

She was waiting for him in his room when he got back to it, boots up on a chair, two plates of food on the small weathered table in front of her.
"About time." She said, "Dinner's almost cold."
"Well, doll, if I had known it was waitin' I would hauled back here sooner." He said with a small smile, sitting across from her and looking down at the meal. It was a white meat that he didn't recognize, along with rice and local vegetables. "You make this?" She just nodded, "Whatcha make?"
"Try it first and I'll tell you." She said and he gave her a suspicious look. "It's not poisoned or anything, but I want you to eat some it before I tell you what it is."
"Okay." He said and grabbed a piece of flat bread from a plate off to the side, loading up some of the meat, rice, and veggies into a pseudo-taco before taking a bite. The smokey flavor of the meat filled his mouth instantly. It was a bit gamey, but had the same taste and texture as smoked fish.
"Well?" She asked once he had swallowed the bite.
"It's good." He said, "Real good. Now you wanna tell me what it is?"
"Sandworm." She said and he choked slightly. "Easy, there."
"It's what?" He asked.
"Sandworm." She said again simply, following his example and folding some into a piece of bread along with the sides.
"How the hell you'd kill one of those things?!" He asked incredulously.
"Turns out your entertainment industry produced a series of movies featuring animals very close to them." She said, "I took inspiration from one of the characters."
"Okay?"
"I used explosives." She said with a shrug.
"Is that what that was a few days back?"
"Yeah, the meat has to be heavily smoked for several days before it's edible." She said and he huffed before giving a shrug of his own and digging back into his food. "Gave the surplus to some of the locals when it was done. They were very appreciative and supplied the rice and vegetables."
"Well, shit. Alright then." He said, "Where'd you learn how to cook it?"
"I spent a few months in a desert very similar to this one some years back." She said, "Sandworm was a part of the indigenous peoples diet. They taught me. They were everywhere along with really big lizards."
"How big we talkin'?"
"Big enough to be used to get around." She said and he blinked at her.
"To ride like a horse." He clarified and she nodded.
"I have one back home. It was a gift from the locals."
"How'd you swing that?"
"By befriending and gaining the trust of a local faction."
"And how'd you swing that?"
"By wiping out the leaders of an opposing faction that was kidnapping and conscripting locals." She said, "The drakes are traditionally only ridden by their strongest warriors. I was given one once I took out the hostile leadership in honor."
"You do that a lot?" He asked, "Help out locals."
"I like making myself useful." She said with a shrug.
"Well, you definitely are here, ain't gonna argue that." He said. They talked a bit more as they ate and she told him of the other indigenous peoples she helped from time to time. It wasn't all fighting. One needed help gathering materials to restore a historical site, another needed supplies to organize and plan a traditional festival. When he was finished, he sat back in his chair, hands on his stomach. "That was good. Thank you, sugar."
"No problem." She said.
"Ask you somethin'."
"Ask away."
"You seein' anyone back home?" He asked and she blinked at him slowly for a moment. "Like romantically."
"I know what you meant." She said, "No, I'm not. I don't get that luxury."
"What do ya mean?"
"Seth, you know what I am, what I can do. Do you really think I can just have a normal life? Settle down?"
"Yeah, I do." Sy said, "You done some shit, you been through some shit. Don't mean you don't get to have a little slice'a normal."
"Are you volunteering?"
"Sweetheart, you scare the piss out of me sometimes, but I kinda like that. So yeah, I am." He said, "If you'll have me."
"Let me think about it." She said, "Nothing against you, I just need to...sort things out first when it comes to all that."
"I gotcha. I'll be here. Ain't got anywhere else to be."

You wanted me to spill tea, and tea I will spill:
The Word of Wisdom is fundamentally misunderstood by everyone (myself included). Let's look at the Word of Wisdom, shall we?
Let's begin with the Prohibitions, as these are the only things enforced by the Church. They comprise of Alcohol, Tobacco, Illicit Drugs, Coffee, and Tea. From the start, we can't deny Tobacco, Coffee, or Tea. The WoW only said "Hot Drinks," but Hyrum (who was authorized to receive revelation for the Church at the time) said it meant Coffee & Tea.
On the subject of Tea, Herbs of the Field. The Lord has told us to use all the herbs of the field with prudence. This is not me saying to distrust medical professionals, but they can help sometimes. I can't count how many times I've had a horrible stomach ache helped by Peppermint Tea. But it'd be dumb to reject the advancements in medicine we've made in the past 10,000 years. This is also why I support medicinal marijuana (and other things like psychedelic therapy). As long as it is used in wisdom & moderation, it can do good for a number of physical and mental issues (such as my grandmother using it for her seizures, or that veteran who used it for his PTSD)
Finally, Alcohol. The Word of Wisdom only prohibits "strong drinks" (which was defined as distilled alcohol, like Vodka). It encourages Mild Drinks (such as beer), and says we can have wine, if Mormons make it. Joseph drank wine (for pleasure, not just for ritual), Brigham owned a Brewery, and on and on. Obviously, wisdom & prudence. If someone has alcohol issues, they shouldn't drink. This fits into my concept of Zion. Drinking for Pleasure is fine, but Drunkenness is unacceptable. We need to enjoy pleasure without getting consumed by them. But since so few of us can manage that, I see why the Church went the way it did
Next, what have we been encouraged to eat. Grain (which is the Staff of Life), Fruits, and Vegetables. There are people who can't eat them (people with Gluten Intolerances & the like), but I can't argue with this. Fruits and Veggies are good
Although, wisdom is required here too. Not all food is made equal. I'm not going to go completely crazy about GMOs (we've been modifying our food for over 5 millennia), but we need to be more careful about the affects. And the flour we use nowadays is stripped of basically all it's nutritional benefits
Final is the mixed category, namely meats & animal products
The WoW never actually mentions animal products, so this is all me. Animal Products are good, and should be used. Eggs (especially considering the "eat meat sparingly" part) are an amazing source of protein. Milk is good for calcium, if you're not lactose intolerant (like I am). The Lord approves of Honey so much he constantly mentions it in association with the Promised Land(s), and specifically told the Jaredites to take bees with them. But, like all foods we've covered so far, careful. My FiL used to be Egg Intolerant, until he started raising his own Chickens, and he's had no problems with those eggs (and they taste way better, and fill me up way more than Store-Bought ones)
The Lord taught us to "eat meat sparingly," and I've seen a bunch of interpretations, from Vegans to Carnivores. All hold some merits, but no one gets it all right. I don't even think I get this one. Ryan Hinkley (a Blogger & Podcaster) said part of his interpretation is that we should do the least harm. He advocates restricting meat use to meats like Venison and Beef, because they are large enough to feed a lot of people over a long period of time (and have you ever had Venison Tacos. Try it sometime, if you eat meat). It mentions Cold & Famine, and this could be because of the extra protein, which allows you to build mass, to keep warm in winter, and last longer in famine times. In addition, if you work in agriculture (especially in the time of JS), that's the most available food you have in the dead of winter. I want to add to this the prophecy about the Sons of Levi offering a sacrifice. Sacrifice for the remission of sins is done away with, but I believe animal sacrifice will return. In Biblical Animal Sacrifice, the Meat (for the most part) wasn't burned to dust, but roasted and eaten. If I am correct, and it does return, then the reason we are to eat meat sparingly is so that when we do eat it, it's as a celebration of the mercies of God. That's just my crackpot theory though, with ideas I've had floating around for years
(And this is all just a theory. I want to try restricting my meat intake & whatnot, but I don't feel ready for that. And even if the Church said we could drink, I probably wouldn't, because I have a family history of alcohol & drug abuse)

10/20/23 Things I did to help myself.... what did I have to change? Seems like everything some days.
Healthy Tips
Realistically evaluated my eating habits. It was either not enough or too much, no in-between. That was part of my problem.
Most restaurant meals are too much, even if you think you are ordering the 'healthy option'
It is not normal to gorge yourself on appetizers, drinks, & a giant entree. Choose a moderation mindset: Pick one or 2. Share an app. One drink. Pack half your entree 'to go'.
Our society is driven by consumerism. I had to take steps to stop that. Meet people to do activities, not to consume things.
Water- I shoot for 200 oz of water a day.
I take low cal beverages with me... nearly everywhere. Tea, coffee, sparkling water.
Try all kinds of different tea.
Meals focus on protein and produce. If you are still hungry- eat another portion of meat and produce.
Try to eat as unprocessed as possible. They add stuff to our food to make our brains light the F up. It isn't natural and devastating to people like me who are especially susceptible. Often when I have issues (yesterday!) It is because I had a processed item.
Sometimes I add a fiber supplement to my drink. Adds calories yes but I don't worry about it.
Try to only have 1 sweet thing a day. The later in the day, the better. I will actually be shooting for every 3 days or so.
Some of my craving issues were blood sugar related because I was pre-diabetic and had PCOS- which has an insulin problem.
If you haven't eaten, plan and eat a healthy meal that has a substantial amount of protein.
If you have eaten already, try to distract yourself with a task. If you are still truly hungry 20 minutes later- have another bit of protein & veggies.
Walk daily. But don't count it as your cardio.
If you work at a desk, get a standing desk and try to work up to standing daily.
Cardio 3x a week. Whatever you enjoy. Yes, you have to enjoy it. If you don't, you haven't found your activity yet.
Weight training 3x a week. Lift all the weights you can, as often as you can manage. You are now in training. For life!
Supplements- figure out what works for you. I am currently on: Sam-E, NAC, Nomorbidity, Alkemi, allergy stuff, and some other stuff I rotate in.
Read books that help your mindset. Atomic habits, mindset books. 10 mins a day, make it a habit to improve yourself.
Watch YouTube videos that build your motivation and determination.
Things can get better. I also utilize therapy! There is no shame in needing help!
I am becoming a healthier person and every choice reflects that.

omfg I hate it when you are a vegetarian and you're eating something like a hot dog or a hamburger that uses a plant based alternative for the meat element of it and so you wanna just casually be like yeah im eating a hot dog yeah im eating a burger but you KNOW. that if you DONT say you're eating a vegetarian version of those things SOMEONE is gonna be like BUT I THOUGHT YOU DIDNT EAT MEAT⁉️ but you don't wanna be like yeah im eating a veggie dog because that sounds stupid no one says that if you were eating a beef or turkey hot dog and someone asked what you were eating you'd be like yeah im eating a hot dog you wouldn't be like I Am Eating A 100% Beef Hot Dog. this is what a hot dog is to me I know no other life this is my reality. but I also understand where the confusion would come from because like 99% of the time a hot dog is a meat based product and most people are never going to eat a vegetarian alternative version of one especially not regularly but i just wanna talk about my fucking hot dog like a normal human being. this is not a real problem to have

Dietry aspects that help you if you suffer from thyroid issues, specifically hashimoto's disease:
Avoid gluten. It sucks, yeah, but every source i found so far agrees on this. People with thyroid issues are more likely to be straight up gluten intolerant! If that isn't the case, you absolutely don't need to cut gluten out of your life. However, you should try to reduce the intake regardless. But not to worry! You can find brands that have pasta, bread mixes, pizza dough, even little snacks as gluten free! Alternatives are also always rice or corn for a lot of things. If you like to snack on crunchy things like cookies i can really recommend rice waffles. They even come with chocolate and other flavors a lot of the time. And as for the bread mixes don't worry, at least the german brand i get has the lowest effort kinda stuff. As in, put water, stirr, form on tray, oven, done (and i found one that is SO delicious to me even!)
Avoid pork. Also got this one from multiple sources. Like with gluten, it can be a problem if you're out a lot, BUT there is usually plenty of other meat. My go to is chicken or turkey. Beef is great too, but naturally it's more expensive than chicken etc. You don't need to cut out stuff like salami either because these days there's a lot of alternatives to pork in those regards
Veggies, veggies, veggies! I mean, who doesn't this apply to?! Vegetables are great and have so many vitamins. I try to eat a salad a day and have some veggies in my lunch. There is so many different vegetables, there's sure to be SOMETHING for you! In my salad for example i put grated carrots even though i don't like them apart from that. I also put apple to make it more sweet and delicious! (Note: for salad you should put some oil, otherwise your body can't absorb the nutrients that well. I love pumpkin sees oil bc i'm picky and don't like olive oil. But there's more you might like too!) Potatoes count as well for your vitamins. Put anything with some meat or in a stew or with rice, it doesn't really matter how you make them
Fruit is less helpful than veggies, but it's still great! Especially berries, apples, oranges, peaches, plums and more are helpful. That's because they have less sugar that for example pineapple, banana, grapes, or mango
Seeds and nuts. They can help you as well. I usually put sunflower seeds in my salad, but you can also put something in cereal or yoghurt or your lunch! They're nice and crunchy and can be great additions to some food
Less (cow) milk. Milk is fineee, but you shouldn't overdo it. Especialy with things with a lot of fat, like cream
Most fish. Most fish is great, salmon and tuna for example. In general, fish is really healthy. I don't like it but i know many do! So definitely keep eating it! :)
Eggs. Eggs are always good, get your protein! Many lovely ways to make eggs. Just make sure you don't always eat them with too much fat, so be careful with your fried or scrambled egg
Those are things i was told by a doctor or things i found from different sources on the internet. Some is obvious like you should just so in general get protein and vegebtables!
But for example, i've had hashimoto's disease for over six years now and only THIS YEAR i was told by a doctor that i should avoid gluten
So i wanted to make a little post for me and for others to have a quick check list regarding one's diet with thyroid issues! If you know/think of anything else, please share! It'll be much appreciated!
