Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ —   AEGON IS AWARE OF HIS ADVANTAGES, MORE so than just being a prince.  he is charming enough, an impressive fighter and jouster  -  for he has performed well in a handful of tourneys - and his reputation for his charm and mingled targaryen and dornish beauty is renowned throughout westeros.  he is truly the ideal prince.  he has heard it all of his life.  his mother’s features, his father’s silver hair and eyes  ... tall and rugged,  an esteemed lover,  the realm’s delight.  such as his ancestor rhaenyra targaryen.  though he knows he shall never face the same fate as her.  yet another one of his advantages.

      hence, as aegon enters the gardens, he is not the least bit surprised by the vast array of blushes and widened eyes which ensue across the lady margaery’s handmaidens, though he does feel a swell of pride in his chest when his future wife smiles so broadly at him.  her smile is sweet, like a delicate, succulent fruit.  in spite of himself, he has wondered what it shall be like to kiss her  ...  such thoughts would surely have him struck repeatedly by his sister, even his father and mother, so he hasn’t dared breathe them out loud.  a prince with a reputation, yes, but he does have tact.

      as the lady margaery dips into a refined curtsy, so effortless and so smooth, aegon lifts his hand to her and shakes his head. “ my lady, you needn’t bow to me.  you are to be my wife, after all.  as of such, you are the future queen of westeros, and my fair wife shall bow her head to no man, ”  he says, in practiced, refined words;  in a voice like honey.  warm, smooth.  much like his father, he has an eye for poetry and a flare for pretty words.

      aegon then watches as the lady margaery excuses her handmaids, the lot of them scuttling away with little giggles shared between them, and throwing glances over their shoulder to the lady margaery and her future prince.  one, however, stays.  this is unsurprising.  in the rare instances where his sister has been ensnared in interacting with one of her courtiers, aegon has noticed a septa linger tightly to her side.  the septa in question is the lady leonette, who aegon bows his head respectfully to.  the lady trails behind, in similar pattern to aegon’s guards;  their armor clink together softly, even in their slow strides behind the pair.  their presence is irksome, but necessary.  still, the prince wishes they could be alone within the gardens  ...

      aegon smiles to his lady as she speaks.  “ it is quite a marvel, my lady.  king’s landing is a little intimidating to an outsider, but to us, it is a den of dragons.  there are hundreds upon thousands of places to become lost in, or to find secrets within.  soon to be a targaryen yourself, you will become privy to them, ”  he says, with an air of mischief flickering in his tone.  he tilts his head to her direction, his silver hair shimmering against the sunlight.  “ i look forward to showing you every curve of this place.  every crevice, every hidden door  -  there are more than you might think. ”

      he stops, gesturing for her to do the same.  his eyes flicker across the gardens, where some servants tend to the flowers, or pass through with trays of tea and food, and then guards on patrol.  his eyes move across a row of pillars, supporting a long balcony overlooking the gardens, and above the balcony is a row of stained glass windows.  he points up at them.

      “ up there, just above that balcony, is a small chamber.  through the stained glass, you can allegedly see little patterns made by past astronomers who patterned the constellations into the glass.  they say, if you are in the chamber when the hour of the moon is right, you can see precisely how they align, ”  aegon says.  he is vastly intrigued by the stars and their purposes, such as his father had been  -  though he has a much more practical view of it than his father and sister.

      they carry on walking.

     “ when we are wed, i shall show you, ”  aegon says.  “ the chamber is rather small and private  ... i doubt it would fit the both of us and our entourage, my lady. ”

She did not miss the innuendo in his words, playful and harmless though they were. It spoke to whispers she'd heard of the prince even before she'd stepped foot in King's Landing. Dashing and charming, the delight of the city. Philandering, too. Those rumors, when they had been told directly to her, were spoken tentatively. As if they would give offense. 

Truthfully, Margaery had been neither surprised nor particularly concerned. He was a man grown, with royal blood and a face lovely to look upon. It would have been more concerning to hear that he had remained celibate or was well-known for his piety. Such men were harder to understand, to predict. She much preferred a little assumed promiscuity to any of that nonsense.

Still, she did offer him a slight raise of a brow—particularly on 'curve' and 'crevice—but her face remained open. Amused but unbothered. A grin playing on the corner of her mouth, as if a proper lady shouldn't laugh at such a comment but she couldn't quite manage to hold it in. 

Margaery followed his gaze up to a higher portion of the keep wall. The balcony was almost hidden by climbing vines and camouflaged by its weathered, faded stone. Had Aegon not pointed it out, she never would have seen it or the dark-colored glass panes reflected the sunlight. There was a pattern in it that she could not quite make out, the lines and colors too muddled by the bright light and distance. 

His description of the of the little room, bathed in moonlight and scattered with starts, piques Margaery's interest. She finds herself staring up at that spot for a long moment, trying to picture it in her mind. It distracts her long enough for the prince to start moving on without her. “It wouldn't do for us to venture where our escorts cannot follow,” she quipped, catching up with him in a few strides. As she reached his side, Margaery granted him a playful smile. “But I am curious now. I trust you won't forget that promise.” 

Even then, a part of her wondered if she could find that little room on her own if given enough time for exploration. Surely, the rest of her life would be enough. “There are a few hidden passages at Highgarden but they're little more than a badly-kept family secret by now. My brothers and I found them all by the time I was seven.” That, at least, was not an exaggeration. Once Willas had let the information slip, she and Loras had spent restless months searching until they'd committed all locations to memory. 

“But that pales in comparison to what I've heard of the Red Keep. That Maegor had dozens of them built. Surely, you've found a few of them yourself?”

im so glad that we never get a clear picture of sophie’s background in leverage & i hope we never do. however i also really like making up various, often conflicting backstories for her in my head. perhaps they’re all backstories for an alias of hers, ones she laid to rest back in season two.

just got a dm abt one of my posts and y'all please don't try and show the hermits (or any minecraft youtuber or content creator for that matter) my posts, i'm uncomfortable with it and don't want any of my posts shown to a cc. if they stumble upon it naturally that's unfortunate but i can live with it since i do maintag a lot (something i REALLY need to stop doing tbh i already know i need to make a tagging system just for my blog that wont clog results) but going out of ur way to show a cc is entirely different and something i am not comfortable with.

no hate to the person at all but even if i wasn't a little silly and weird with it sometimes i wouldn't be comfortable with it, i want my blog to be a purely fandom only space with none of the creators involved <3 please respect this

honestly speaking, the idea of going back to my dorverold multimuse stresses me out bc i think i would just want to start over? and make rin the main muse like i always should have done, but i dunno. it felt like work trying to get people invested in her before, and i just!! don't particularly want to deal with that again. which is sad to say, but it is what it is. i'm happy enough being able to just incorporate aspects of that lore into chiyo's modern fantasy verses for now. maybe in the future i'll commit to putting in the work for rin and her story.

ngl my take on the whole dni thing is that yeah to a point they're mostly useless. from using broad/undefinable terms ("general dni criteria" what is that "racists dni" most people who are racist do not self identify as racist, "women dni" define a woman for me, quickly. etc) to being useless at actually deterring the kinds of people you dont want interacting with you ("transmisogynists and terfs dni" if a terf wants to bother you about terf shit a dni isnt going to stop them, etc), by and large they're for appearance to signal to others the kind of bigot that you're not.

the one kind of place they do actually kind of work though. spheres that remain encapsulated microcosms of 2015 era tumblr microlabel identity politics. the places where, regardless of if you're a self identified transmed or a proud tucute, you wouldn't be caught dead interacting with someone on the "other side", because the second someone brings up "umm op made a post last year about xyz" you have to RACE to denounce any and all knowledge or interaction lest the people on "your side" put you on a list of "blogs unsafe for xyz" that you'll be arguing against anons about for months. if you're really unlucky, someone will make a callout about op and include you in it as an enabler and a bigot by association.
