@wolfstarmicrofic September 8 - prompt 8: Patronus [word count 590]

They had been at it for two weeks now, and it had been exhausting. Still, Mary had to admit their DADA professor had been right about all the hard work paying off, since now most of them had been able to produce a fully-fledged Patronus. She leaned back on the desk, her silvery squirrel immediately running up her leg and settling on her shoulder, its eyes comically wide as if it had misplaced a walnut in the classroom, and looked around at the chaos of students and various animal-shaped clouds of silver light, some brighter, some dimmer. She had spent long hours poring over most of the literature on the Patronus charm, not only how to better obtain it, but also the endless academic discourse on what the singular shape a person obtained could have some deep meaning. She honestly wasn’t sure it had one, but she was glad hers was that cute, with its feather-like tail, even if she hadn’t expected a squirrel at all. Exactly like Marlene, who had worked really hard and now was staring at a Canada goose who just looked back at her before flying to the top of the professor’s desk.

“Is it because I like flying?” she asked as the goose started to peck at some papers left around.

“It’s a very elegant animal,” Mary said.

“And they mate for life, isn’t it romantic?” Lily added.

Lily had been very happy when her own Patronus had turned out to be the most elegant silver doe who was now moving around the classroom in dainty little steps.

“Isn’t she beautiful?” she sighed.

That enthusiasm ended up being short-lived when they turned around to loud cheers and saw James’s silvery stag prance around the boys.

“Called it!” Peter clapped James on the back.

“What can I say, I’m amazing,” James smirked.

“That you are, dear Prongs,” Sirius nodded, his own large dog already whirling around the stag.

Mary smiled, happy to see Sirius had managed to get a Patronus as well. He hadn’t said anything, at least not to her, but she knew he was terrified of not having a happy enough memory to cast the spell correctly. She then turned back to Lily and elbowed her.

“You know what they say about having similar Patronuses?”

“Don’t you dare, MacDonald,” Lily hissed, making the doe disappear with a flick of her wand before the boys could see it.

Mary rolled her eyes and looked back at the other group right in the moment when a silver Komodo Dragon shook its head to free itself of the skin it was shedding and turned back to Peter, affectionately bumping its head on the boy’s leg.

“Why always me?” Peter sighed while behind him James and Sirius almost collapsed with laughter for some reason.

“Same,” Remus muttered by his side.

Mary followed his gaze and her mouth dropped open as she saw the magnificent silver wolf quietly sniffing Sirius’s dog. The dog wagged his tail happily and soon enough the two had settled on the floor, the dog curled up between the wolf’s paws. Mary looked up from the lovely sight and half the class cooing at it and saw Remus look at Sirius, the both of them staring at each other for a second before immediately looking away, a blush creeping on their faces. She rolled her eyes. Those two were absolutely lovesick, still dancing around each other and definitely not subtle at all. She might start considering locking them in a supply closet sooner or later.

Sam is Adopted

So! Have you ever noticed how Sam doesn't look like either of her Parents? Her Mom and Dad are Blonde and Ginger, and neither of them have Purple Eyes. How would Sam ever come from either of them?

She tells people that she dyes her Hair and wears Contacts, but the reality is that she was adopted as a baby by them. They had just found out that Pamela was Infertile and they wanted an Heir foe their company, so they decided to Adopt a kid.

But the Adoption Agency didn't have any kids who would realistically look like them, so they just got the first kid they found.

She had been left at the Orphanage by her Mother citing an inability to raise her and an unstable income. She never told the Agency her name, but told them that the baby's name was Sam, named after her Grandfather.

Sam was raised knowing that she was Adopted, but never really put much interest into it. Until one day when she decided that her adoptive Parents support of the Anti Ecto Acts was a step too far for her. She took an Ancestry DNA Test to see if she could find her Bio Mom to get away from them.

The results came back, and she found out that her Mom was a woman from Metropolis named Lois Lane.

what she’s thinking: the story brought both carpenter and faulkner to their inevitable end points that have been foreshadowed from the v first episode of the show ambiguity of carpenters death aside she stood on the banks of the river singing like her nana glass and was gunned down by the military and faulkner was drowned dragged delivered by the god and story he had let devour him but. but. before those things happened right before the narrative reached its end both of them stood up and said no! i want to go forward! i want to find something past this whatever it might be i don’t want it to take me yet im going to keep on walking! and it was too late! the thing is it was too fucking late!!!!!!! the aquifer was already flooding the soldiers were closing in she was to hurt to run he can’t swim. the chance had come and gone at the beginning of the episode for any hope of them reaching each other ever again but even though it was too little too late never ever going to be enough they both looked the site of their doom in the eyes and said i do not accept this. not here. not now. i am staring at you– the thing that will eat me — and resolving to pry open the jaws and choose to use the last moments of my life (whether i know it or not) to run and stumble and crawl and cry and sing in the hopes of reaching the people who matter to me more than being made your meal. and of course they got fucking eaten anyways. of course they did bc they were walking towards it from the beginning. but there is a way out, there is a way forward, there is a land beyond the storm that is possible to reach if you choose to step out of the story that has been built for you to find it. we walk on, with a rough and tarnished hope, and a tangled, ruined love. it can end with love, and it can end with kindness. even as the jaws are closing. ours is a world of miracles.

Not a big deal to me. I like it, I see all the appeals, I just personally like Rarijack more.

#ask me #anon #if you wanna know why i like rarijack more i just think they're a healthier depiction of a domestic and longterm relationship #appledash gives me the vibes of gfs that'll eventually break up #because from s1 to s8 their relationship and communication with each other on serious things never really matures or grows #they were competitive and petty in s1 and they were competitive and petty in s8 #arguably worse cuz in that s8 episode their dynamic becomes so toxic they almost cause a student under their care to drown #both of them have a superiority complex that's constantly conflicting with each other and it never really gets resolved #but with rarijack there's a very clear arc of development you can follow in their character #and multiple episodes show how they'll argue and eventually come back together and apologize and communicate and work to better things #you can watch them grow to like and understand each other. in s1 aj scoffs and makes fun of rarity's work in fashion #but in a later season (after some conflict) aj says that she doesn't understand fashion but she knows it means a lot to rarity so it means #a lot to her too. and that's what love is to me. “it didn't mean anything to me until it meant something to you”#it's genuinely really sweet and i'd argue rarijack /feels/ the most romantic out of all the main 6 ships. through arguing they grow closer #which is how it's supposed to be in relationships that last! you argue to work out your interpersonal problems and understand each other #(which is why it's genuinely kinda baffling to me that appledash ended up being canonically married because they never gave me those vibes)#but it really doesn't matter. they're cartoon horses! have fun with them

I think Astrid Hofferson has a bad case of the 'my childhood was wasted, I grew up too fast for something ultimately proven pointless.' Syndrome and that she deserves to get to do silly things she missed out on and take up new hobbies, even if she's not particularly good at them–it's purely for the experience yknow, and learn to finally breathe no longer needing to be on constant high alert and get to be truly happy

Batcows and millionaires

Of all the things he could do on a Wednesday night, Danny didn't think he'd be following the last wishes of a ghost cow but life takes its twists and turns.

With Wulf's help and a lot of persuasion he managed to translate what the spirit was trying to tell him, apparently "Batcow" wasn't meant to be a ghost, but neither did she wish to leave her former owner alone.

She was worried about him, how he would take it, and refused to leave until the Ghost King himself promised to take care of Damian and let him know she was in a better place. Again, Danny could have refused her request, but he thought about Cujo, he thought about how he followed him everywhere, about the time the GIW captured him and almost killed him, and he understood a little, so he agreed.

So, the Ghost King ended up in the back of a mansion (of course the owner had to be a millionaire, damn it, couldn't he be a farmer?), watching Damian Wayne stare at the barn with melancholy. Danny noticed his hands were shaking.

With a sigh, the halfa landed beside him, wondering how he might approach the subject. He obviously hadn't expected a sword on his shoulder but hey, he'd initiated conversations in worse ways.

౨ৎ a/n. i KNOW what my bio says but i'm multifaceted. literally so in love with this deadbeat and i hope it shows.

The second time Toji ever felt love was when he looked into Tsumiki’s big, brown eyes for the first time.

Then the third came with a small head of black hair and the name he’d chosen long before he'd known whether his kid would be a boy or a girl: Megumi.

From then on, life was a journey for him.

Growing up, Tsumiki was much calmer than Megumi, who would fuss and cry at every little thing. His papa wouldn't read to him long enough? He'd bawl his eyes out. He couldn't reach the fridge handle because his legs were too stubby? Waterworks. His toy was missing after he'd been the one to misplace it? He'd throw a fit.

Toji would honestly curse himself for even thinking he could fall asleep for more than 20 minutes before his son would toddle into the room, promptly disturbing his dad's nap by pouncing onto his stomach or latching onto his arm.

You, however, found it pretty funny.

"Shit's not anythin' to giggle about," Toji would grumble at you, his beauty sleep interrupted as you laughed, glaring at Megumi as he clambered onto his father's chest, bouncing his bottom up and down and beating on him with his tiny fists.

There have been multiple instances where Megumi's been in a good mood, though. You'll never forget the pictures you took of him napping, holding his big sister's hand in his smaller one as they both rested on top of Toji's large chest, his hands cradling both their heads while he snored.

Toji is so bad at not cursing in front of his kids. It's a horrible habit, but he can't seem to grasp the fact that 4-year-olds aren't supposed to be saying the same unsavory words that roll off his tongue so easily.

"Fuck!" he'd let it slip a few times when he accidentally hurt himself, and in typical kid fashion, they were always around to hear something they shouldn't.

"Fuk?" The fact that Megumi was the very picture of innocence while such a filthy word came tumbling out of his mouth (and paired with a smile!) rattled his father.

"What's 'fuck'?" Tsumiki asked, barely much older than her brother. Toji could only pray you didn't hear that.

"Wh— not so loud! Don't repeat that shi— that stuff. Yer gonna get me in trouble with Mama."

(you indeed did hear and he got his ass beat later)

Calls Megumi and Tsumiki 'rugrats.'

He didn't realize just how little time he'd have for romance with his kids around. Every single time Toji leans in to press his lips on his yours, no matter where you two may be, they come running from around the corner (apparently, they'd been watching for a while), darting between your legs and making fake retching noises as they giggle at the scowl on their dad's face.

Toji's the kind of dad to lose one kid in the store, turn around to ask the other kid where their sibling went, only to find them both gone LMFAO.

Stiffens up when he hears an "I love you," or even when he receives a hug from either one of his children. Hugs take some coaxing from you, but he doesn't dislike them (he'd never admit it, what with his tough guy persona, but Toji's kids make him so soft inside.)
