I'm the anon who sent in an ask abt accidentally co-ordinating a mass call out, saw a lot of ppl wanting the know the aftermath so here's your updoot :>

All 3 of us did end up calling in (during the early morning, so we never had to directly talk to our boss, but the manager on at the time) plus another random 4th person, who wasn't apart of the original group and is just a regular sickie chucker. When my boss did see the emails that morning, he came to my station and had a mini freakout/breakdown to the opener. Ended up not being able to cover the midshift with a proper staff member who works in our department, so no prep was done or topped up all day; the opener was in on what we were doing and also didn't like the staff on that night so her attitude was very much 'sounds like a them problem'.

From what I heard of the close, it went about as well as I expected; a massive shitshow. The one coworker who I really don't like our of the 3 stooges ended up being forced into doing the close, and boy did she fuck it up. That next morning the place was a total trash heap- with shit still being dirty, equipment not being turned off, and just looking like crap in general. According to another coworker who was there briefly it wasn't even bc she was busy, she just never bothered to even START her closing duties or clean and let everything build right until the end. The opener was so mad they went and got my boss to come down and look at the place the morning after and he pulled lazy coworker into a meeting about it that night, saying there was no reason she had to stay back an hour past her clock out time and still leave the place looking like a dump. I had to work with her that next night and she was being really passive aggressive to me abt it, kept saying things like 'yeah it was so bad, if only SOMEONE didn't call in on us' (like get fucked, maybe if you didn't suck I wouldn't have had to prioritise my mental health).

There was an hour wait time basically all that night (something that shouldn't have happened, I saw the sales the from the night and it wasn't even that bad, they're all just that slow) and a shit ton of people complained about either not receiving their food, or the food they did get being cold/not cooked properly. The managers on that night had to get called over a bunch to do a lot of voids and refunds. One of my regulars who was in that night said things didn't even look busy, the person on close just spent more time leaning around or freaking out then actually doing anything.

As for myself and the 2 others who called in, we all had a really good day off. The midshift was telling me how they spent the day relaxing and even got themself a little spa day, I ended up catching up on some chores work had severely pushed back and the other chick just relaxed at home all night. No one walked out and the place didn't burn down, so it's a little anti-climatic ik, but oh well. Good day for us, not so good for the others :3 It was nice at least that they got a taste of what we have to deal with whenever they're on.

first of all i dont want to jump straight into the serious shit so the unoriginality is actually INSANE like ive been seeing the same jokes since 2022, can we Please get something funnier than “griffin does gymnastics / is a ceiling fan” 😭 the amount of times recently i’ll see a tbp tiktok and then get someone copying the idea and making the Same exact post like 3 scrolls later is insane like Pls can we be original Pls this movie is so sad i need something to laugh at

outside of being totally unoriginal some of the jokes tend to be Really Fucking Disgusting like straight up joking about assault, i shouldn’t even have to explain that thats not funny in the slightest?? this one person made a bunch of really gross ones and kept blocking people who called them out in the comment section, my friend had to dm them Several times and all they did was take down one post, the rest are still up with a ton of views :/ i know its like shock humour or dark humour or whatever but i dont see the ‘funny’ side of a grown man forcing himself onto a child and i think if youre laughing at that you should sit down and ask yourself why you think thats so funny.. people in the comments are always like “i shouldn’t laugh” so they Know its wrong as well which just ugh the whole thing just really gets on my nerves

another thing that gets on my nerves is the lack of media literacy and straight up spreading misinformation, maybe on the media literacy part i’m just a hater but i see so many questions being asked or theories being posed when all of the things mentioned were… literally answered in the movie?? “whats up with finney and gwen’s mother” it’s literally said in the movie that she has the same ability as gwen and she killed herself bc of it, next question, “why was max so interested in finding the missing boys” maybe because he was a coked up conspiracy theorist who saw a serious crime happening in his brother’s area so he decided to be a genuine concerned citizen who wanted these boys to be found💀 “why did the grabber kill max” because he had evidence of the highly awful crimes he’d been committing and was about to let his latest victim free?? the list goes on and on but those r the main ones i see all the time

as for the misinformation. the other theories i have like. not much to say about other than the fact that they’re Not true, i see a lot of stuff about griffin for some reason? the number tends to change but a lot of ppl say “he was kept in the basement for 4 years” like . okay getting serious again, while this one does not make me angry its like. just really weird to me? i think its common knowledge at this point that both the book and the movie are inspired heavily by the john wayne gacy case, with the grabber literally being inspired by john wayne gacy himself (you Cannot argue with me on this one its literally confirmed and theres a boatload of evidence supporting it). i guess its natural to see people making comparisons between the movie and the case because of the inspiration but i’ve seen Several videos recently of people taking photos of jwg victims and putting them next to tbp characters and saying thats who theyre inspired by and i think thats . Really coming across as insensitive i cant lie😭 we know the grabber was inspired by jwg and its heavily thought that billy was inspired by johnny gosch but theres not much about the others and i think its just really distasteful to compare real life murder victims to fictional horror characters just to get views/likes on tiktok, it comes across as insanely disrespectful to me but idk i havent seen anyone else talking about it so i might just be being sensitive

how totk really feels like botw but for the people who didnt like shiekah tech, its not a sequel, its botw again, but version of only sonau, its like a pokemon game that had two versions but one has weirdly incoherent story and acts like the other never existed jsut as a whole its like retreading the same points but worse, all shiekah tech that was so integral to the world and had such a long history just vanishing and no one caring about any of it like it never happened, HELL the titans were called divine beasts in english but i guess they werent divine or important enough to keep around LOL champions WHO and isntead a never before seen or even heard of race for that matter showing up and planting their ass in every place the shiekah were before, dare i say it feels weirdly manipulative, like either them or some outside force erasing every fact about the ancient shiekah and replace them with sonau stuff bc they are the hot new shit now

this is a point that just doesnt stop bothering me, how the shiekah tech seemed so carefully designed and integrated into botws world and story, its a difficult to keep balance after all, integrating high tech stuff into a medieval setting, but they made it work! and then totk comes around and throws a bunch modern day tech into it puts some vague greenish stone filter on its exterior and call that even better more ancient tech; why did they even bother to make pottery inspired laser shooting spider legged robots so well integrated when they throw a car and rockets into the next game without a thought and call it a day, what was the fucking point

it feels like someone was dead set on having a set of legos thrown into the game it had no place in, if you want players to build whatever they want make a building game instead!! especially if you are just gonna throw it in with seemingly no consideration how out of place it feels togehter with the fACT THAT YOU ALREADY HAD AND ANCIENT HIGH TECH CIVILIZATION WITH A VERY DISTINCT AESTHETIC THAT WAS ALREADY WELL INTEGRATED INTO THE WORLD YOU ARE PLANNING TO REUSE WITH ALOT OF MYSTERY AND UNKOWN STUFF ABOUT THEM TO EXPLORE FURTHER YOU COULD HAVE USED!! but i guess they just "didnt want to play with you anymore" and that so much so that they went out of their way to erase every trace of it, i dont think the words shiekah tech are ever used in the game, and the purah pad and her towers just drive me more isnane bc they are the same shit but called different and also much worse, liek the purah pad isnt some more developed shiekah stone, no its a glorified camera with a teleport function and thats it

(i know i said this before but i really cant stand how obsessed every single NPC is with sonau shit, you get told to your face every second line of dialog that they are so cool and are so mysterious that it just makes me annoyed of them even more, the game is obsessed with shoving them everywhere and telling you over and over you too should obsess over them, they werent weird like that about the shiekah stuff in botw?? the biggesst talking point in botw was calamity ganon ..... which makes sense and in totk its like ... gan is mentioned what, in a newspaper article??? once???and then not even by name i think???)

aside from that big point which will never let me go, its also just .. its not moving forward anything, it actively walks BACK the progress that was made in botw, call me dumb but i dont really count moving one step up in the social roles of each race as a character development (for the side characters like the champions desc- ahem SAGES) but mainly zelda ... god how dirty she was done, totk pretty explicitely makes her regress any development she made in botw aside from she likes link uwu and some people like her too, but also not enough to notice that that weird zelda being all evil and weird isnt her (INLCUDING THE CHAMP- SAGES WHO YOU ARE SUPPOSEDLY FRIENDS WITH??? you dont have to be a genius to pick up on that my god, were you all given the mc dumbo potion or what)

she gets put back to square one, back into the little itty bitty princessy maiden role forced upon her by her royal parentage, this time rauru edition, back into a white little dress, back into the scared puppy eyed teenager, back into a situation she cant handle, back into losing everyone around her (tho honestly botw made me care more about rhoam than totk did about rauru), back into being forced to do a big sacrifice- but worse actually

in botw she went to FIGHT AND HOLD GANON IN THE CASTLE SO LINK HAD TIME TO RECOVER AND IT WOULDNT DESTROY THE LAND!! and you are telling me in totk rauru takes up her botw role and she bascially killed herself to ... restore the mastersword.

......... she ... she did that only to be a glorified version of the stone pedestal in the forest. and then she gets returned to normal itty bitty girly no problem via magic sparkle beam at the end and

i honestly dont think i was ever truly taken aback by anythign that happened in botw, while in totk, the further i played, the more i had to fight with myself to keep the feeling of unease, disappointment and betrayal down

its such a god damn shame, totk should have stayed a DLC, i will forever mournfully dream of a game that explores more of the ancient shiekah, doesnt erase integral parts of the world, developes characters more instead of making them regress back and make them end up even less developed than at the start of the game, dives into buried secrets and mistakes of dark pages of history without giving into a weirldy nationalist(imperalisitc?) narrative and lets characters have some agency for once

if it werent for the yiga i might have actually considered refunding the game, just to be at peace with myself

in case anyone wants to know how fucked the legal system is here in canada, 3 teenagers came into my work today and beat the absolute shit out of a random guy because he “looked at them wrong” like literally had him on the floor and were kicking him in the ribs and head REPEATEDLY. cops were called (as much as i dislike cops, it was necessary bc wtf are we supposed to do as random minimum wage retail employees lmao???) and these teens were charged with NOTHING, after leaving this guy bloody and unconscious and his face was so swollen it was hardly even a face anymore. they punched one of my coworkers who tried to stop them too and a bunch of products were damaged as well from them throwing the guy into shelves. and they were smirking and laughing to each other as they walked out with no fucking charges because they were underage. like i’m sorry and i DO TRULY HATE cops and i hate the prison system and but HOW can you just let this happen?? no consequences?? at all??? NONE???????? they COULD HAVE KILLED HIM and literally nothing is being done because they were under 18. like. they’re just gonna do it again. and some girls that were shopping were like “they go to our school, they beat people up like that all the time and no one ever does anything” like what the FUCK!!!! where are your PARENTS😭 why is nothing being done about this!!!! i don’t understand!!! like wtf are we supposed to do, just let teenagers literally assault people?? i guess so! 😭😭😭😭😭

i love coming up w silly ass little lockwood and co headcannons either by myself or with my roommate bc they're always hilarious. here are some of my faves that we've come up with.

george hides barf bags around the house in case he sees anything slightly coupley or flirtatious between lockwood and lucy so he can pretend to gag and be dramatic.

george would fall for the "i triple dog dare you to lick this frozen pole" thing in a chistmas story.

he has fallen for the "your hand is bigger than your face" thing bc lockwood pulled it on him. he has never forgotten. he will never forget.

george loves lucy so much but he genuinely doesn't understand why lockwood is attracted to her. not in an "ew she's gross" way (well he was a little like that when they first met) but in a "she's such a person to me that i don't understand how you could be attracted to her she just kind of exists to me" way. he tries to figure out the appeal and it ends in a bunch of undecipherable equations on the thinking cloth.

lucy draws the three of them together in random areas of the thinking cloth but always covers them up so the boys don't see them until she leaves.

lucy is polish. I can't explain it in any way other than that I am a lucy kinnie and I look at her and I hear "pollock" screamed in my ear.

lucy loves making traditional polish food, like sausage and pierogis, golabki, lazy golumpki, kruschiki, paska bread, etc. etc.

lucy is 100% fluent in polish and the first time that lockwood hears her speak polish (she's on the phone talking to one of her sisters), he's entranced.

lockwood cannot say the word "pierogi" correctly to save his life. he refers to them as pergs, pergies, rogues, ogis, anything other than pierogi. he knows how to say it in theory, but every time he tries to it ends up sounding like shit, so he just gives up eventually. lucy thinks it's hilarious and george tries to explain to him where he went wrong to no avail.

lockwood tries to learn polish from lucy but fails terribly (after he found out she knew polish and asked her about it, she started speaking in polish more often around the house). it's not that she's a bad teacher- it's that he doesn't ask her to teach him. he thinks he could teach himself the entirety of the polish language by simply observing lucy when she speaks polish and repeating random words that he thinks sound like what lucy says (they aren't even words, just syllables commonly found in Slavic tongues)

lockwood would definitely be the guy that when he meets lucy's sisters for the first time, he tries to talk to them in polish and he fucks up the sentence TERRIBLY!! he means to say "Miło w końcu cię poznać" (it's nice to finally meet you) but he accidentally says something like "you remind me of my left shoe" or smth like that. lucy's sisters find it funny and appreciate the effort.

lockwood is fluent in French and lucy finds that EXTREMELY attractive.

i think they all slip into different languages when they're mad, but I think george (karim) specifically speaks in insanely aggressive farsi when he gets angry.

after a couple of years, the trio learn the languages that they each know so when they get into arguments, they fight in different languages. Like Lucy is raging in polish: "POWIEDZIAŁEŚ, ŻE WYSTARCZAJĄCO LEKKOMYŚLNY" (YOU SAID JUST RECKLESS ENOUGH!), lockwood is countering in french: TU ALLAIS MOURIR (YOU WERE GOING TO DIE) and George has to run furious interference in farsi : من از هر دوی شما متنفرم خفه شو )I HATE BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP)

alright im half way thru and here are my thoughts so far:

1. I truthfully don’t know any of the controversy around joe rogan, i just know he’s hella popular for being controversial and he’s someone i’d be on edge to have a convo with bc what i have seen is he questions everything and he isn’t afraid to let you know he doesn’t agree. but snc seem to really like him and vibe with him and it does seem super out of the blue for joe to want ghost hunters to come investigate his place (I hope this isnt a set up). either way, sounds interesting.

2. that contract from o-park mall is challenge worthy. they spelt colbys name entirely wrong (misspelt his last name and used his nickname and not his legal name) making it null and void from my understanding. i would also say the same abt sam as they used a nickname not a legal name. A good lawyer could wiggle them out of that if they cared.

3. loved hearing colbys take on religion. im the same, i’m not so much religious as i have a relationship with God. i think thats way more important than being in a religious community. and i also feel the same way about just knowing there’s something else out there. also interesting he was the only one on the table who doesn’t have dreams of dying. chop that up to trusting in God and not being afraid bc he knows God has the perfect plan and everything is in control, or just generally not afraid to die for other reasons, who knows. definitely fascinating, either way.

I finished the podcast late last night and then immediately went to bed without really doing a deep dive into my thoughts on the whole thing (aside from a few choice areas that stuck in my brain and had to be discussed in dm's last night lol), so I'm going to use your reviews to sort of start my own review, and then will probably finish up with an additional post later on side thoughts - cause I have a lot lol.

1, The thing with Joe Rogan is that he kind of plays both sides of the fence, in terms of not just politics, but pretty much anything going on (he will have on conservatives and liberals, will have on atheists and people like snc, will have on scientists and then people who believe in UFOs, etc) and so he tends to be very controversial because of that. I don't listen to him, his viewpoints on certain things aren't really my cup of tea and he has in the past said some stuff in his pursuit of riding the fence that was not good and gross and everything, so this is not me defending him or whatever - but at the end of the day, he has the most listened to podcast on earth and love him or hate him, is a household name. Them being invited on his podcast, being treated very well by him, and then him keeping in touch with them and inviting them out to his comedy club is objectively a big deal for them and their visibility and they aren't going to turn that down because twitter - who has pretty much made it clear they lowkey hate snc anyway lol - have an issue with the collab.

I actually found that part of the conversation interesting, because the whole thing came about because his daughter was a fan of theirs, which I just find kind of hilarious and random. Imagine how many people of notoriety and fame they meet or could potentially meet because those peoples' teenage children are fans.

2, I don't think they would actually get arrested for showing up at that mall at this point in their careers, anyway - most malls do not have the uumph to take shit like that truly seriously, and both S & C have made it public that they've been back in there since (one time right after the release of their book, Colby went into their Barnes and Noble with his mom and illegally signed a few of the books on the shelf and posted about it all over his instagram lol). But it is objectively kind of hilarious that they are "banned" from entering the mall and yet they've had consumer products in three of their stores (B&N, Hot Topic and Zumiez), and have had their faces on the store fronts of two of those three.

3, I strangely found that interesting as well, and I normally tend to zone right the fuck out when people talk religion (sorry, all). I was raised Catholic but am not religious these days in my own life, although I certainly do believe that something else has to be going on, hence all the ghosts and stuff. But for whatever reason, hearing others talk about religion always makes me feel wildly uncomfortable - I think it's just feeling like that's something personal and so different from person to person and I just don't like feeling like I'm intruding on their privacy by hearing it (even if they are offering it up freely), if that makes sense? I don't know, I'm just weird about those conversations in general.

But I find it interesting when these two talk religion, firstly because of the content they make and how it would tie back into their own personal belief system, but also just how interesting it is that this is one of those areas where they kind of balance each other on opposite sides of the scale, and yet somehow come together perfectly at the end. It's an interesting phenomenon with them.

Also, all of them talking about dying in their dreams and Colby just piping in with "I've never died in my dreams 😃" like go off, you sweet little just happy to be there king.

I was talking to my friend about this last night after I got this ask, I do think that the fact that he said this when laurents not around makes this a little bit more weird and random, but ultimately I think its kinda 2 things:

1) I think he's basically mocking laurent with those comments, specifically in the sense of saying crass things for the purpose of being triggering/mocking someone who's been sexually abused. sort of like, "haha laurent you and I both know how you are/what you get yourself into!" but again, while I do think thats a part of it and the regents general shtick, it lands a bit oddly when laurents not actually there to hear it. 2) similarly to the first one, I think its more mocking but hitting a bit of a different tender spot. its not that he's confident that damen is his type or that laurent is actively looking for something or someone. the way I interpreted all that was that the regent knows laurent and he knows his vulnerabilities, both bc he simply knows certain part of him but also bc he's quite literally been there for much of them/has caused and enhanced them. I viewed laurents abuse as this really lengthy, manipulative thing that made him deal with feelings of confusion, rejection and pain from someone he thought cared about him and wanted to "be" with him. so I read the regent being confident that laurent would bed damen or even just making comments about it potentially as him pouring salt on the wound, but also him making a cruel observation of the fact that he personally knows that laurent feels alone and discarded and really just desperately wants someone to want him. look tbh I dont neceserally think it has to be that deep, I think pacat sometimes just wrote some shit and it just happened to land, so it very well just could have been a classically icky throwaway comment that he made. but if youre trying to dig deeper into underlying means and all that, this would be my personal take.

I have a Penguin mini-series called “Pain & Prejudice” somewhere. In it, a man commits a casual slight against Penguin, insulting him when he bumps into him on the street before, in horror, he realizes who it is and apologizes profusely. The Penguin laughs and tells him not to worry. But then oddly, the man finds himself fired at his job for embezzlement, his apartment burns down, his parents die in a very mysterious car crash, and a seemingly random person accosts his girlfriend on the street and injects her with something that doesn’t get specified but medicine hasn’t caught up to yet. All this goes to show just how cruel and petty the Penguin is, and just how much influence and power he has in Gotham. And I was thinking, it’s stated pretty often (though really not shown well bc I think writers often don’t know HOW) that Shaw has far greater influence, that the Hellfire Club has this on a global scale, that Shaw in particular can reach “princes, presidents, and popes” And again, not often demonstrated because you can’t punch that away, but we’re told he has it and I don’t doubt that. I think the reason we don’t see stories like this from Shaw is simply that he isn’t that petty. Penguin is portrayed as horrifically insecure and needing the love and approval, even if it must be bribed or forced, from all those around him, and punishing any deviation from that due to his trauma from bullying and abuse. Shaw very fucking blatantly doesn’t give a shit, there are multiple instances where he’s just “yeah I’m fucking asshole what about it” One of the few good moments he got in the Krakoa era was in a N.ew M.utants issue by Ed B.risson where a cartel leader calls him a swear and Shaw’s response is simply “That I am.” Which is not to say Shaw is a pushover—perish the thought!---but that he’s learned that the only opinion and approval that matters is his own. I say “learned” because we do learn in the backstory with L’s death that this wasn’t always the case. He’s horrified to learn of Ned’s betrayal, despite having been warned by L and T.essa, and concludes verbally that he let his own need for acceptance blind him to the truth all around him. So, at this point in his life, he did care about the opinions of others—namely, the uber rich, amidst whose ranks he had just been accepted, which makes sense—and it cost him the most important person in his life. Between that and the fact he clearly became more and more of An Absolute Bastard Man since that, one who is TEXTUALLY stated to no longer let himself be vulnerable to others and “handled relationships like chess games” out of the expectation he will always be betrayed, it’s no wonder to me he would stop giving a fuck what anyone things. Which is a cool way to be, don’t get me wrong, wish I was like that, but also isn’t coming from a place any less traumatic than Oswald’s, it just goes the other way because of different circumstances. And the point of this rant isn’t “Shaw is Better than Penguin bc Shaw isn’t petty” it absolutely is not. I actually LOVE Pengy, that’s why I own that miniseries! It’s just, it is often DIFFICULT to a play a muse with the power and reach that Shaw has, and not use it to godmod a whole bunch of terrible shit happening to other people’s characters who piss him off (which a lot do, that is the personal mission of more than one muse I write with!) like the Penguin does to that dude. Because like. . .I don’t want to do that, firstly it’s bad RP etiquette and second it would limit the characters I could keep interacting with. But Shaw is an incredibly powerful guy who very much could make life miserable (or over) for like…honestly, almost anyone he wanted. So it helps that I can just go “well he actively doesn’t give enough of a shit, you’re not worth the time to him that it would take to make those arrangements” But I am 1000% sure he could. (also: in the spirit of fairness to Pengy, he’s shown to be JUST as disproportionate in REWARDING genuine kindness shown to him and those he cares for as he is in punishing unkindness. For instance, when he sees the nurse who cared for his elderly mother is genuinely crying at his beloved mother’s death, he ensures she’s set for life. So his pettiness, ruthless and cruel as it is, also has equally generous aspects. Love that complexity!)

So I started reading your stepdad harry series/blurbs idk what to call them exactly. And I'm a bit confused. Well to be fair I haven't read all of it but the ones I read and thought was important didn't make much sense to me. Is it not supposed to make sense? Like all the fics are happening with the same characters and same universe right? Or is it just idea based like you have stepdad stepdaughter and mom and you got an idea so you write and it doesn't have fit into an established world or plotline (sorry my English is shit and idk how to explain this but i hope you understand what I am trying to say)?

The first of the collection is when they have sex for the first time, through out that fic it's evident that it's their first time and she definitely didn't come across as a virgin. Then later on there's another story (reader request I think) where he takes her virginity. But that doesn't make sense unless it's just different universe kinda yk? Like how you have a professor harry series and you also have a professor harry one shot and they're both different characters. It's just the first of the stepdadrry series being their first time and then there being another 'he takes her virginity' story in the same series just doesn't make sense to me. Like these two can be different stories yk?

What does his wife feel about her after the wedding, does she love him? Does she talk to her daughter about how much she loves him? I wanna know. In the first fic it was mentioned they got married 5 months ago, and yn met him when they were already dating for few months and she's 22 and in Harry's pov fic it says she was a virgin. AHHH! Yess yes yes! So stepdad!h was always meant to only be the first post - a one-shot/blurb but I kept getting requests for more scenarios, etc. There's no timeline really. There's no heavy plot. It's literally just a bunch of random asks that I write for their universe. There might be a tiny bit of timeline happening in some parts but overall there's nothing solid there to hang onto. The virgin thing... yeah that was a request that I fulfilled for a follower who asked for it - even tho we already kind of saw their first time (with the first blurb I wrote) and she absolutely wasn't a virgin in my head when I wrote that first part. But some followers wanted to pretend she lost her virginity to him so I wrote it. It doesn't line up with anything.

When I did stepdad!h I was new to writing fic so it was kind of practice for me in a way? It's definitely not my best work and I wouldn't recommend that au to anyone bc I don't LOVE the idea of it with Harry being such a dick - but I did have fun writing them.

It's okay that you're trying to find a timeline and want it to be cohesive. Most everything else in my masterlist is more cohesive and timeline driven but stepdad!h is just a random collection of requests that I fulfill and it's not something to focus on as a true series.

dabi is 100% a bass. like yeah his voice is hella raspy which kinda makes it sound higher pitched (but tbh thats prolly from his vocal cords being burned to shit so i think without that he would have a deeper voice) and idk it’s just like. it makes sense to me ok. (also i always imagined dabi as being that kid who’s voice dropped super early so he just had a baby face with the voice of a grown man)

my husband/mr. compress is a baritone just cus i KNOW this man has a deep buttery smooth voice that makes ppls knees weak (can you tell i love him? ik it’s not that obvious) also at this point im going off of vibes tbh

shiggy feels like a tenor to me. he’s just got a relatively normal voice and probably has good pitch control

spinner is also a tenor for the same reasons

i feel like it’s similar to how the league in cannon formed. a bunch of outcasts rejected by society who came together to form a family (they make me want to piss and throw up god i love the lov so much)

himiko’s story is similar, her running away and stuff. but here it’s because of her mental illnesses and her family having ostracized her. so she was just living on the streets until compress just picked her up like a stray cat and took her home bc his dad instincts were activated

spinner and shiggy are both orphans who grew up in the same orphanage (like pls do you see the childhood friends to lovers vision please hear me out on this) and once they aged out and were dumped on the streets they only had each other to rely on and then they kiss kiss fall in love im going insane please send help

dabi is the black sheep of his family, and he basically disappeared when he turned 18. he pretty much cut contact with his entire family and they think he’s dead. this is bc i have this amazing idea of them having thought he was dead for years and then all the sudden they find out he’s just this fucking rockstar lol

compress is basically the only one who’s relatively normal and well adjusted lol like he had a normal childhood and now he’s just an adult lmao

i feel like twice is an ex-con. like he did a few years for a string of robberies or smth idk i just feel like he’s done time. and as we all know ex-con’s are always screwed over by society.

Random: I learned how to solve a Rubik’s Cube last week! It’s been awesome and i literally cant stop telling people about it! Aside from that not much else has been going on. So I guess I’ll just put some movie opinions here: the Wachowski Sister’s Speed Racer movie is fantastic, the Star Wars prequels are good actually, the Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions are amazing actually, Mad Max Fury Road is a better Fallout movie than we will ever get, and I didn’t care for John Wick 3 that much. Like, it’s Fine? I just think it was doing too much, was too consistently visually overstimulating and less cohesive overall. Also the original “Chocolate Factory” film is low key facinating as shit and yall??? my favorite headcanon ever is that Willy Wonka is the Devil. Like actually and literally Satan. Seriously try watching that movie with that lens next time because it totally fits. He’s this dude who is the complete master of his own corner of the universe, he’s clearly very intelligent and is basically blatantly magical but scratch the surface and he’s also deeply unhinged, he guides the kids through the layers of his factory and literally Tempts them with things that represent their sins or character flaws, he’s all about testing them to see if they’ll resist that temptation or do the right thing in the end, a bunch of other little things that goddamn office of his and that contract and the oompa loompas might as well being demons (which is uh not good racially speaking but it’s better than the surface level text of the movie which basically has them as his slaves so Yikes) like seriously the movie legit gets so much better and interesting if you go into it with “Willy Wonka is the Devil” in your mind go go watch it right now damn you <3

Im gonna be real, my knee jerk reaction here is to make some bitchy little comment and then drop it. But I'm gonna do my best to explain our position here. Because I know you're a good person, and I know you aren't gonna take what I say in bad faith and twist it against me. Putting it under a readmore bc this post is already long.

Imagine you have a house. You've built this house yourself, you love it, it's HUGE and every single nook and cranny is special to you. And then a neighbor comes along and cuts down 80% of it to use the raw materials for fuckin whatever. What an asshole, we are not inviting him to the holiday party. But you start to rebuild. You don't get more than one room up though before another neighbor comes by, says he's friends with the first guy, and then tells you he's gonna be telling a bunch of children to walk through your house. You say "hey, wtf. I actually don't like kids all that much, and don't really want anyone walking through my house after that last guy destroyed most of it." And they say "that's too fucking bad". You ask your other neighbors to help, and get radio silence from everyone except for one random dude way out in the ocean who went through something similar. It's not enough though, and the kids start stomping through your house.

A bunch of them keep accidentally knocking shit over and breaking it. Not their fault that this place isn't kid friendly, but that's exactly why you don't want them there. At least half of them tell you to knock down MORE walls so that your house is easier to walk through, it's kinda inaccessible for them. A lot of them don't do much more than just. Walk through. But your house isn't built for that much foot traffic, and now your floors are dirty and breaking.

Your neighbors start talking, saying how inaccessible your house is for the kids, how WEIRD your house looks to them, how anti social you are. They even start spreading rumours, calling you uncivilized because your home is so weird and dirty and broken even though it WASN'T always like that and you were never given the chance to fix anything or even make the place more child friendly before the absolute hoard of rude/inconsiderate/well-meaning but still part of the problem kids started stomping through.

Your house is in shambles, there are kids that you don't want everywhere, and your neighbors all hate you and love to spread rumours about how mean and brutish you are. At that point, even though it isn't the kids' fault you are going to find yourself being not exactly the best host. It's not that you can't be, you're actually really good at helping your friends and their kids feel good and safe in your home. But this is too much, you are one person and these kids are not in a listening and learning mindset. Rudeness isn't the goal, but when you're that tired and bogged down it's inevitable.

First guy is the Industrial revolution, second guy is the league (obviously), and the neighbors are the rest of Hoenn (again, I think obviously). I'm not using this analogy because I think you're stupid, it's just the best way I could think of to make the emotional reality actually hit home. Also because explaining the history in detail would take even longer lol.

We aren't rude by nature. We dont even necessarily hate having guests over. But it's just been too much for too long, and we are tired of being judged. And anytime we try and explain that people try to defend the League, or say that we're overreacting. One time I told someone the cliffs notes version and they said "so it's true? Your town is super poor and shitty?"

People don't like to hear their precious League has done terrible things. People also don't really approach us much from a place of actually wanting to listen and learn. That said, I do trust u n ur little girlfriend to be chill. If either of you actually want to learn about our culture n traditions I'm happy to talk about em.
