What are you going to do, fight the sun? by TheBadDragon || 1k One-shot. It's one of the few stories I've read where both Danny and Vlad are trans and I love it.

For Whom the Bell Tolls by @raaorqtpbpdy || 35k One-shot. This features a really interesting AU. I love that it deals with the question "if Danny is trans and he and Dani are siblings, do people think Danny named himself after his sister?"

I think it's funny that Talia gives them the baby partly because she doesn't know Danny is trans. DisillusionedDanny actually has a bunch of really good fics with trans Danny, including Eat The Acid and Love Like You.

Phantom in Gotham by @artemismoorea03 || 320k Incomplete series. This series is incredible! Poor Danny has to deal with some upsetting situations, but everyone in the Batfam who learns that Danny is trans is supportive which is sweet.

Liminal Familiarity by @isitcowboytimes || 70k Incomplete multi-chap. A nice angsty AU where Danny helps Jason after he becomes half ghost. There's a scene where Danny transforms back to human after being only Phantom for a while and he gets hit with gender dysphoria and being human dysphoria at the same time, oof.

Stalking Astronauts: Gotham's Latest Social Media Craze! by @tachvintlogic || 54k Complete multi-chap. This is a really interesting twist on the usual DPxDC adoption trope where Danny is afraid of being adopted, and he doesn't need to be because he's an adult and a successful astronaut. Unfortunately because of his facial masculinization surgery, everyone thinks he looks a Wayne.

Barely Surviving in a World Antithetical to My Existence by DomesticatedOpossum and Vampirenote13 || 67k Incomplete multi-chap. Danny gets isekaied to Gotham and helped by Constantine and the bats eventually. I like that both Danny and Tim are trans in this.

You decide to go scout possible foraging locations. It’s starting to become dusky, however. You forget how fast night actually falls, once the sun starts going down.

The moon and billions of stars light your way, bouncing off of the shining leaves of the canopy above you. Thankfully, you aren’t lost, but you’re a little bit more scared than you’d like to admit.

You see the flickering light of a small fire ahead of you a ways, but it’s the opposite direction of the warren.

Eventually you step out of the brush into a small clearing where you find, August’s wagon!

“Why hello there,” a voice carried on a little breeze made just for you, graces your ear. You spin to face a fancy looking bunny guy with two toned hair.

“Hiya, August!”

“I brought you something really special tonight…” He goes to rummage around in a trunk on the back of the wagon. He’s always bringing you such elaborate treasures. You try and peer over his shoulder, but he blocks you just like always.

“Everything you bring me is special!” you roll on the balls of your feet, deciding to face away from him and respect the surprise. Not too soon later you feel warm arms wrapping around you. “Wha—”

His hands gently encase you, and his head rests on your shoulder.

“Let me take you away from here… I can show you life away from the warrens.” His voice is soothing, but is that something you want? “Here, it’s too late tonight, I’ll take you back home.”

“No way, August! It’s not that far.” You laugh.

“Only if you’re sure, Y/n, I’d never forgive myself if something happened to you.” He slowly let’s you go and pats you on the head.

You’re in your own little world when it happens.

Thinking to yourself about your options…

It appears you have a lot.

All of a sudden, a burlap bag comes over your head, it scratches your ear, and you yelp out with more than just surprise!

You hear mumbled chatting but can’t make out any full sentences, when…

“Mmmf… My head…” You’re dizzy and your head is pounding. It feels as though your skull is in the jaws of a tiger.

“Ahh, you’re awake, good.” A ginormous white rabbit hybrid man sits beside you on a massive bed. He’s intimidating to say the least, and you audibly gulp, mouth dry. “Here, you need fluid.” He holds a clay cup to your lips and has you drink.

Your headache is already subsiding, “Thanks…” Your voice is quiet. “Where… Um…”

“You’re home. I am Hellebore. You are my mate and you will rule over this warren with me.” He speaks as though his words are law.

“Wha—” You notice the bed is covered in soft… Furs… Your eyes widen in horror. Your warren doesn’t kill anything so you aren’t accustomed to it. His loincloth is leather too. And now you’re looking at his crotch… His length isn’t even hard and you can still see the sheer size of it.

“Good. You’re understanding your situation, my little mate.” He brushes your hair from your face and runs his fingers down the side of your jaw, then under your chin. “You are so beautiful,” His ear flicks, and he sighs, “I have to go for now, I will see you again soon.”

You’re left to cool off on your own… Gods, today has been so long! You think about resting your eyes… But you’re way too nervous for when Hellebore will return.

“H-hello…”

You shoot up. “Who’s there!?”

“S-sorry! M-my names Dandelion! I’m h-here to help y-you escape” She squeaks it all out hurriedly.

“Why?” You narrow your eyes, she’s standing in the doorway looking around frantically, she doesn’t seem like she’s lying, but why’s she helping you?

“Y-you’re r-really c-cute!” She blushes.

“Aww!” she’s so adorable! your own face is warm, you bound over to her, immediately forgetting the world just to hold her hand.

You do, you take her soft hand in yours and kiss it, “My hero, let’s go!”

Her face is a blaze of red, smoke would probably be flying out of this poor bunny girl’s lopped ears! You have to take mercy on her for now. She looks like she can only handle so much at a time.

She pulls you along through a pathway in the trees when that feeling of being watched hits you again, this time however, it’s too late to be any help.

Your ankle snags in something, it hurts but not too badly. It’s some type of snare you think, but it’s too dark to see.

“There’s that pretty bunny I’ve been hunting”

“AHHH!!!” Dandelion screams “I’ll get help! I promise!!” She runs, her fluffy lil tail flailing up and down. You trust her.

This human man completely either didn’t hear her, or is just disregarding her. Either way, you already feel frozen and small, and like talking to him would be pointless.

“No bitin’ now, I’m only getting this off,”

“Why would I bite you?” You think he might be deaf, he doesn’t seem to have heard you. “Woah!” Your equilibrium shifts as he hoists you up into his huge arms. He sets you on one arm as if it’s a chair made just for you. You feel a little bashful, but, “Where are you taking me?”

Still he ignores you.

You decide to shift and get more comfortable for the ride rather than waste anymore breath.

“We’re here,” He pulls back a branch, revealing a beautiful clearing filled with white moonlight. There’s even a waterfall behind his cabin! You kinda want to jump in, but it looks a little scary too. “Now, what to call you,”

“You can call me, Y/n.” You fold your arms, there’s no way he’s deaf. He’s pretending he can’t hear you!

“How about I just call you, Bunny, for now…” It’s not a question. You end up with a straight face, already fed up with this human man and his weird shenanigans.

“I’m a hybrid. I’m not a full bunny, ya know,” You say.

“You make such cute little sounds, Bunny.” After he hangs up his thick brown fur coat, he approaches you, looking into your eyes fully.

You feel scared suddenly, like he’s finally actually seeing you. But you’re completely exposed.

“I’ll be right back,” He puts his hand under your chin and tilts your face up to look at him.

When he returns he picks you back up, you hold onto his arm, it’s so thick, you wonder for a second what the rest of him is like…

“Bath time, little Bunny,” He pulls at your top, you try to hold it down and end up huddled in the cold dirt.

“D-don’t!” He pays your plea no mind.

Huge calloused hands squeeze your thighs, and pull down fabric from your skin. Some of it tickles madly, some of it feels too rough to bare.

Soon your stripped completely naked, and covering yourself with your hands and legs. For a second you think you can see red adorning his cheeks. You willingly climb in the fire heated bath.

He takes a sponge, and washes your body, thankfully not spending too much time in any one place.

He puts you in a cotton shirt that’s baggy and soft, before carrying you once again. This time he drops you off in a hutch. Possibly the most cruel and inhumane thing you could ever think to be put into.

“No way. You can stop now!” You grab onto the bars and try to pull on them.

He ignores you and goes back inside.

“LET ME OUT!!” You keep screaming until you hear something in the brush on the edge of the clearing. “Hello…?” You peep.

“Hello…” Possibly the deepest voice you’ve ever heard echos you…

“Um… I’m uh… Stuck… C-could you… h-help?” Your heart pounds in your long, fuzzy ears. You swallow painfully while you wait for seconds of absolute silence for the man to do anything at all.

Footsteps crunch through the pine needles.

You behold him as he steps into the moonlight, a gorgeously rugged wolf man. More rough around the edges than even Winter. You watch him wide eyed, as he unlocks the hutch.

He grabs hold of your waist and hoists you out.

“You should follow me. ‘s not safe.” He doesn’t talk much you can already safely assume. Instinct takes over and you grab his hand. He doesn’t pull away, but he doesn’t hold your hand back.

You almost want to thank him, it’s so late now that you know predators are just lurking around every dark corner… Predators like big dark wolf men in the middle of the dark forests, but you don’t think of that, do you?

He takes you into a lively and bustling wolf pack. They’re dancing around a big bonfire in the middle of the tribe.

“Safe. Sleep.” He says, and lays down on a fur covered slab of rock with his back to you.

It’s not as comfy as what you’re used to at all… but you manage to sleep for a little while at least.

“I’m here for them.” a deep woman’s voice rings out like a beautiful and slow song.

You open your eyes and it’s even darker out now.

It’s Gloria! The chief of your sister warren. She’s gorgeous, as tall as Hellebore, too! You practically drool as you imagine her stepping on you. You jump up and excitedly rush over to her.

She smiles when she sees you. “Ah, it’s wonderful that you’re alright, darling. Now, come.”

You follow her all the way to your home. She takes your face in her hands once inside your canvas walls.

“I… Was worried. I’m going to discuss treaties with the woods tomorrow. You’ll be able to go where you wish.” She kisses your cheek and runs her finger down your jaw. A sigh leaves her plump lips, “You’ll thank me next time. I unfortunately have to go for now my sweet little darling.” You hug goodbye.

Your body burns.

You’re beyond exhausted as you trudge your way through the warren. It’s so quiet and creepy, but the gentle snoring wafting out of the open windows all around comforts you. It was really a very short walk.

Rosalyne was, as children are, young and interested in learning, eager but never quite aware. She loved to trail along by your side as you took her up the mountains to find a patch of flowers, at which point she would plop down in the grass and get to work making herself a flower crown with an extra one so you could match. Since your mother taught her the secret, she had happily taken to it and off to the races she was, linking flowers and matching colours in pursuit of the prettiest arrangement she could make to be her crown.

She long ago decided that Windwheel Asters are among the best, with an interesting shape and fiery red to contrast her blonde hair. Calla Lilies have a similar colour but a bad shape for flower crowns, and Cecilias are too pale to stand out the way she'd like them to. Windwheel Asters are bold and show off her hard work better than any delicate flower could.

Of course, that means she must also find the perfect flower for you, and that's hard work, but she'll never stop trying. Rosalyne read in a book about an extinct flower called the Padisarah, a beautiful purple flower that even the Dendro Archon couldn't perfectly replicate, and decided it would've been perfect for you if it still existed. You suspect that it's only because she can't have it that she wants it, the allure of something mystical that exists only in the imagination.

She settles instead on the legends of a Liyue flower that blooms at the sound of beautiful music—Glaze Lily or something to that tune. Each time Rosalyne makes a flower crown for you with the next best thing she can find, she claims that one day she'll travel to Liyue, and when she does, she'll bring you back one to see how pretty they are as if she has some greater understanding looking at the same picture in her book as you did. Maybe she does.

There is no dream too big, not for Rosalyne. She is desperate for your approval at every turn and wants you to think she's as cool as she thinks you are. She wants to hear you smile with her despite seeming so far away at times. Her phase of being petty and squabbling with you is over at last, and she seeks the comfort of the one person she looks up to more than anybody for a guiding star to turn to—you.

Your parents are both far away future ideals for an older Rosalyne to aspire to be, maybe with that boy she likes, but you are not so distant. You're like her, if only older and barely wiser. She sees all that she wants in you, and it makes her look up to your guidance above all else. Her parents are the annoying rule makers who preside over her life and ruin her fun; you're the fun troublemaker who sleazes the both of you past the city guards and takes her headfirst into the danger of the mountains just so she can play.

Rosalyne thinks of an ambitious future, and your parents tell her to be careful; you tell her to chase it. Become a scholar and do as she pleases. She's more inclined towards your indulgent way of thinking. You have yet to stifle the burning passion she holds but recognise it, and in your mind, it's about as cool as dragons could ever be. It is not the worrisome uncertainty of instability and hardship that your parents think it is.

Her heart is set in a far-off place—Sumeru, the Akademiya, where she feels everything will fall into place like a fairytale. Rosalyne has it all figured out, down to the number of boys she'll reject in pursuit of that boy she has had a crush on since she was twelve.

Even you're not privy to that, subject to Rosalyne quickly closing her diary or turning away from you, hiding the gifts she managed to get him and letters she wrote out but never could quite work up the nerve to send. It used to be only one of the many instances that would have her yelling at you not to snoop, though it has dwindled to being only one of the very few instances, save for accidentally discovering her in the process of procuring your birthday gifts.

It used to be that you would be searching for your missing things, a few of which had disappeared suspiciously close to your birthday and were found the moment you were proudly presented those very items as gifts from your little sister, sometimes with a daring tale of how she acquired it for you. Most of the time, you acted surprised and grateful, maybe even added a comment about how you were glad you didn't have to get a new one since Rosalyne had gone out and done it for you. You hid your annoyance at her habit of stealing your things behind thoughts of how cute your mother thought it was that Rosalyne didn't want to be left out of getting to give you something.

Rosalyne does, however, realise the possible benefit of asking for your help with this boy once she gets over the embarrassment-driven beet-red cheeks and yelling at you. You cannot find her boy and drag him by the ear to her, but you could help her write a letter to him or teach her to wrap that gift she was holding onto. You can do any number of things to help her chances— except talk to him. You can't do that, or you'll give it away with that big mouth of yours.

You're not quite sure how she came to that conclusion.

Her acceptance to the Akademiya came all too quickly. Years seemed to fly by, and her quirks evened out into a young woman your parents were more comfortable sending away to another nation. Their fears of her immaturity and fiery passion dragging her down settled as she did. By the time you were ready to send her away, the encroaching elegance you had seen forming in her younger self blossomed until she carried herself with more confidence and grace than ever. 

Like your parents, you are ready to watch her pursue that dream and come home to see the boy she likes still waiting for her. You make sure she knows you'll be there too, maybe even come visit every now and then and see Sumeru for yourself.

As she leaves, you reveal what you've been hiding for her—a single red flower. You're not as practised at the art of making flower crowns, but you found her this. This is all you can offer that she can carry with her until it wilts away.

So I lied and don’t have the finalized designs for King Maggie or Queen Ams yet soooooo *throws confetti at you* take this Starboy reimagining in the meantime!

Eugh boy the name gave me trouble. I didn’t want to use Aster since that’s the name of a a couple popular Starboys already (@annymation/@gracebeth3604/ @mythartist21) and while the Greek name is cool, I wanted something a bit different.

I was heavily considering choosing Estrella and making Starboy a Stargirl, and then we’d have a gay romance. But this is supposed to be SOMEWHAT of a homage to early Disney. This may not be KoW, but… idk. Cielo is a gender neutral name. Literal manifestation of light. Go ahead and draw them as a female-presenting figure and it’s still TFS!canon~

Aaaaaaanyways. Here’s the actual rewrite!

First of all! Cielo is NOT the Northern Star! He’s a baby star like… in the bottom right

However, the Northern Star? Evangeline? Yeah, she’s gonna be in my rewrite

So not all stars are wishing stars, and similar to Kingdom of Wishes, a wishing star is born when first wished upon

Once a wishing star fulfills their first wish, they become Stars (capital S), and are free to help anyone that needs it

The more wishes a Star fulfills, the more powerful they become

Idk maybe it’s like a Rise of the Guardians thing, where the more people that believe, the stronger your magic is

Sparkles and hope and glitter and shit

Until, as explained in my rewrite… the Stars grew bored and started simply granting wishes

Then people grew lazy and started demanding wishes

I feel like the name best suited them, because...well idk it just did for the design I was imagining at one point.

So why did this dude want to grant this random ass guy's wish? They really didn't have a choice to be frank. They were wished upon, they have to do their job, and they also were intriuged. Why did this dude want to defeat "The Great Magnifico"?

Also, Aster I dont think will appear nessesarily in "The Kingdom of Roses and Thorns" in the main story where Asha's story takes place. Only in like a possible prequal? Idk man I am just idea dumping

So STAR BOY does know of them, but not on a personal level. I feel like since he knows the story of Aster, he just wants to not have Asha fall down that path.

Yeah yk what? Eugene it is and he is Magnifico's younger brother who had to die. If Magnifico kills him...thats cool but idk if he has the guts at this point of his old life to kill his brother. Or his best friend? Rival? Idk but his name is now Eugene :/

Thats all I got, I am just EXPLORING and IDEA DUMPING. I am not saying that this is CANNON in my story, I'm just looking at other ways to destroy Magnifico and Amaya mentally :3

And now giving them a backstory is breaking my heart like my villains did not deserve this 😭

What is cannon though, is that Rosas was destroyed by a Star, or mainly the star helped do some mass murder on the whole place at least more than over a century ago. How they survived that long is by consuming wishes that gives them new life and live longer (yes I am adding onto what else the wishes do to them yipeee). Still debating if a wish is destroyed, the person dies, but idk yet :3

Funny enough, he doesn't use magic as much as he does now. He was very reclusive with his magic and only used it when nessesary. Never to kill people either....which is the completly the opposite of TKoRaT Maggy is now, same with Amaya :')

1. The Seven Teens Each Represent a Planet in The Solar System

Okay so this wasn’t planned initially but it was an AWESOME coincidence that I realized thanks to @uva124 making an association with Asha’s personality and the symbolism behind Saturn

Asha is someone who perseveres through adversity.

All planets have symbolisms like these, and some of them fit surprisingly well with the other 7 teens, allow me to show you:

Dahlia- Jupiter

Jupiter: Known as the planet of wisdom and expansion, Jupiter's influence extends to leadership potential and visionary thinking. A favourable Jupiter placement in the birth chart signifies optimism, generosity, and a broad-minded approach to leadership.

Dahlia is the leader of the group, besides Asha.

Gabo- Mars

This planet shares its name with the Roman god of war, so it's all about aggression, survival, and animal instinct. On the positive side, Mars helps us take action and act assertively. On the negative side, Mars can lead us into impulsive behavior.

Gabo is the most aggressive

Simon- Pluto

On the lighter side, Pluto is associated with renewal and rebirth. It represents endings and new beginnings, as well as spiritual growth and rebirth. Negative expression of Pluto is an obsessive desire for power and control and general destructiveness. A positive expression is the ability and desire to transform.

Simon went through a transformation through the story as he learned to trust himself and his friends more, and let go of his loyalty to the king. Also Pluto is no longer considered a planet, he’s the odd one out, the same way Simon is the only one who gave away his wish

Bazeema- Venus

The planet of love, romance, money, beauty, and art, your natal Venus speaks to the way you express your desires, your passions, what you value, and how you relate to and experience pleasure. It also influences how you socialize, relate to, and attract others.

This one is more so how Bazeema is very pretty and feminine in nature

Hal- Mercury

Mercury represents the principles of communication, mentality, thinking patterns, rationality/reasoning, adaptability and variability.

Hal is the one who encouraged Aster to communicate his feelings to Asha, also when they’re all getting to the castle with flying objects Asha drew, Hal was using shoes with wings on them, like Hermes, the God that represents Mercury… THAT REFERENCE IS A COINCIDENCE AS I ONLY HAD THIS IDEA TO REPRESENT EACH ONE OF THEM AS PLANETS AFTER WRITING THE WHOLE STORY LIKE- HOW?!?

Dario- Neptune

In astrology, Neptune is associated with the collective consciousness, idealism, dreams/fantasy, projections, undoing/dissolution of the status quo, evolutions, artistry, empathy, and illusion/confusion/vagueness on the way to discovering universal truths.

Dario is the most empathetic of the group and shows through his physical contact, although sometimes he can be a bit confused on what’s going on

Safi- Uranus

Uranus, the planet of sudden and unexpected changes, rules freedom and originality. In society, it rules radical ideas and people, as well as revolutionary events that upset established structures.

Safi was the one who figured out the King’s weakness was his staff, he pretty tilted the odds in their favor, giving a flame of hope to their revolution… Also he’s always sneezing like he has a cold, and Uranus is the coldest planet in the solar system so I think that’s funny.

All of this plus Asha representing Saturn gives us a pretty neat connection to astrology in this story that is ALL ABOUT astrology, stars and stuff.

Magnifico represents the sun and Amaya represents the moon, as it’s hinted in their designs by @uva124

So expect when we start designing the 7 teens they’ll have some hints to the planets they’re connected with, subtle hints of course, which will make designing them all the more fun!

2. Aster Little Catchphrase Before He Sings

So that was an idea I had since early on when writing KOW, I wanted to imply the best way Aster can express himself is through music, which builds up to At All Cost where, to me at least, the lyrics feel like someone trying their best to express their feelings but not quite sure how to, so the words and emotions all come out in a beautiful mess that is those lyrics

Now, the phrase he said in my first draft (that y’all read here on Tumblr) was “So I’ll try to explain in the best way I know how” but that phrase always felt weird to me, so in Ao3 recently I edited it to “I’ll explain my own way” WHICH FLOWS OFF THE TONGUE SO MUCH BETTER HOW DID I NOT THINK OF THIS BEFORE???

And it fits Aster so much better since their whole thing is that the stars doubt him, but he still believes in himself and tries to grant Asha’s wish his own way! Like come on it just WORKS!

3. References I like but not sure everyone caught

Asha in the very beginning mentioned she dreamed with a someone made of light, so one could say they… Met once upon a dream ;)

Asha running down the long stairs of the palace after learning the royals secrets gives me major Cinderella running at the strike of midnight vibes, I’m disappointed in myself for not making her lose her shoe mid running then coming back to pick it up

Asha referred to her mom as a fairy when she was little, and her mom had a cloak similar to the fairy godmother, which I think it makes the reference of the cloak cuter in my opinion

There’s a scene Amaya and Mag are having a discussion and she’s talking to him while looking at herself in the mirror, she’s looking at him THROUGH the mirror, get it??? THE EVIL QUEEN AND THE MIRROR! No need to literally turn him into the magic mirror to make that reference

And these are the ones I didn’t explicitly point out that I can remember from the top of my head, honestly wish there were more

So, incredibly specific, but I feel like I'm a shapesifter with three favorite forms. A dog, cat, and fynx (fox-lynx). They also feel like separate chacters in my head. I'm not a system, just to be clear that they aren't alters.

1. I'm going to give my take but I'm not a system (though I am questioning but that's a post for another day.../lh) so I'll leave the notes open for anyone to correct me (and add a couple system tags for reach)! In my opinion, no, that's not impersonating a system. From what I understand you're just making OCs which happen to be inspired by your kintypes and that seems perfectly fine to me! If it's about changing your identity, then genderfluid people use different names and pronouns on different days too.

2. Yes!! They're called kinsonas!! To my knowledge they are at least LOL. I think they're more common in the fictionkin community but you can do it for any kintype. It's really just creating with your kin as the muse! I have 2 OCs in a story based on my 2 highest kintypes.

Add-on to the 2 above: Aster isn't my real name, it's part of my werewolfsona I use to run this blog! I'm considering it as a chosen name but this is the only place Aster exists. Also if you're a spiritual origins kin, the feeling like they're characters might be past life memories but I'm not the person qualified to talk on that.

3. Yep! Not sure if you mean labels or kintypes but it works for both! The otherkin label is often used as an umbrella term that encompasses therianthropy so technically you could already call yourself otherkin! Otherwise it's totally possible to have otherkin kintypes as well as theriotypes. It's no different to having more than 1 theriotype, it's just something other than an animal on earth. My kinlist encompasses theriotypes, otherkintypes, fictotypes & even an objectkin!

Also I think a shapeshifter as a species would already be considered otherkin as it's not a species found on Earth/in nature (to our knowledge at least)!

personality description :: ivy is a menace and a terror to the local ecosystem, not because clo is disrupting it or being harmful to the plants within, but due to the fact that clover antics tend to draw the attention of the animals within and distract them from their daily lives. clover friends are mostly forest animals that live within evermoore, such as frogs, axolotls, smaller birds, ladybugs, and even worms. viola always seems to be up to something, whether it be digging a giant hole in rel backyard, befriending swamp creatures, or executing frog heists on friends. toady jr. did not deserve jail time! their quirky personality has earned them friends and foes alike who either admire their freedom and unabashed actions or think them reckless due to their tendency to leap before they look. at least ast is still on aster way to prove the school of magic wrong: aster is more than capable of becoming a full-fledged witch no matter what kind of insults they hurl!!

Very Specific Random Batfamily Headcanons

A/n: Hii!! These were completely random thoughts and headcanons I have and have compiled into one post. They are purely self-indulgent!!

Jason still sleeps with stuffed animals. More specifically, he sleeps with the beluga whale plushie Bruce got him when Bruce took him to the Gotham Aquarium for the first time. Nobody knows except for Alfred and Bruce himself.

Damian likes to give full names to his pets. Bruce got him a blue Betta fish whom Damian named "Richard James Davenport" for no reason except his own amusement. When Dick asked if he had named the Betta fish after him (which is most certainly true) Damian denied it saying that Richard is a common English name.

Tim is half-Japanese and speaks the language fluently, but people don't notice until they really pay attention to him. Every once in a while you can hear him cursing in Japanese.

On a similar note, he absolutely loves tamago kake gohan but his siblings think he is a little weird for it. (a/n: Tamago Kake Gohan is delicious. I LOVE it but it's not for everyone...)

The one person who can calm Jason down after horrible nightmares is Dick. Bruce and Alfred can to an extent but it takes a while and never fully works. One hug and an "It's ok, little bird. I'm here. No one can hurt you." from his big brother and he is almost instantly calm. They never talk about it afterwards but they really do love each other.

Damian, despite putting on a "cool and collected" facade, is incredibly possessive and clingy. If given the chance (and he gives up the facade for a little bit) he will continue to hug the person for an indefinite amount of time. Commenting on it will, however, result in an automatic detachment.

Tim has watched all Sherlock Holmes adaptations including Moriarty the Patriot. He has also roped Bernard into seeing it and now Bernie insists that they cosplay Sherliam at some point.

Barbara has dirt on everyone and is patiently waiting to use it against them.

Stephanie, despite being a slight disaster in the kitchen, learned how to make cookies with Alfred and is now the best cookie maker after the butler himself. She has used the cookies as a bribe in order to make other members of the batfam do something for her.

(this is basically canon) Dick has unaddressed and undermentioned anger issues that pop up every once in a while stunning everyone.

(in the Young Justice (the cartoon) universe) The batfamily has adopted the use of the un-words for example, "Whelmed", "Traught", "Aster" & etc.

The Batgirls (Barbara, Steph and Cass) have at least two Girls' Night per month. Whether they stay in or go out is depends on their mood.

!!!!! he’s human. he’s SO human. but he’s not human in a human way. he wields his humanity like an otherworldly creature. like something not human. he loves and cares so fully and wholly that what would have been just a sneaky, tricky rogue, is instead a hero, with power and love to share and give.

and thus i think it’s REALLY interesting to think about a story in which he ISNT human. i’m a very big fan of nonhuman entities that are, at their core, driven by their humanity, and i love playing around with chip as something like that.

there are fun things scattered throughout his story in riptide to go off of in this way. the options i have had floating around in my head are these (this is a very incomplete list and new ideas are always welcome)

chip has always mirrored the people around him, and i find that very intriguing. a very interesting way to push that idea further is to make him a changeling, molding himself into his own perceptions of the people he admires/has admired. arlin, reuben, jay, gillion, there are a lot of possibilities. and his more recent canonical forging of his own identity, can be extended with him coming to terms with his changeling identity, and revealing his true face and name to his friends.

i also really love when characters fall easily into certain vague roles. in this case, gillion as the moon, jay as the sun. pretty straightforward. right? but then, by that basis, where does chip fall? in one version of this, he’s the earth. metaphorically speaking, as the story takes place on mana. but he’s earth. solid ground. grounding his friends, holding them together and keeping them from rising too high as to forget what they’re here for. gillion, the chosen one, jay, forseen rising to greatness, and chip. i will now remind you that he knows celestial, the language of spirits and the gods. now why the hell does he know that? every other language he knows, he knows for an easily explainable reason. except celestial. and so, in this idea, i think he wasn’t born in the usual way. we never find out who his parents are, so who’s to say they’re human? perhaps, with gillion so aligned with lunadeyis (or however her name is spelled,) and jay aligned with aster, he is a middle point. a bridge. not chosen by either, but created by both to keep gill and jay’s feet on the ground, to bring them together and push them forward, motivate them, and comfort them when they might split apart. a god-born “human” with an unassuming demeanor but with great connection to fire, and the ability to motivate and empower one person, or hundreds.

this one has the same base inspiration as the second, chip knowing celestial and therefore having something UP with him, and chip being the third to gillion and jay’s very thematically satisfying space theme. but this time taking it in the opposite direction. gillion, the moon, jay, the sun, and chip? the stars. fiery, burning balls of light and fire and hope. in this version, he may look human, but just below his skin is power far greater than in canon. for he is one of two things: an aasimar, a child of a human and a celestial being, or a celestial, an angel, himself. this actually lines up very well with dnd as it stands, as his inexplicable fire magic can be explained by either being, or being connected to, an angel. and i’m just saying, in dnd there is such thing as a firemane angel. no idea what that thing is supposed to do story-wise, but i quite like angels, and chip has fire, so……….. think about it. cool, right?

ALSO. i’m literally always open to asks about my thoughts on things. i’ll never be bothered, i have a constant itch to talk about stuff and a little directional nudge is always appreciated.

what made you pick up the current muse(s) you have? i love noctis . final fantasy xv is my favorite game of all time and i've put ungodly hours into it , but fun fact ! i actually wrote prompto from 2016-2020/2021ish ( i dont remember haha ) but immediately the game became my favorite final fantasy game , and then eventually topped my passion for kingdom hearts and crisis core and just . became my number one . i still wanted a way to experience and express my love for it , but my personality had shifted sooo much over the past several years and prompto just didn't fit for me anymore , so i opted for noctis . gave him a go and ended up connecting with him on a level i would have never though LOL . i've always really really loved and enjoyed his character but writing a protagonist always gave me the willies so i never ventured into it . now im stuck here .

is there anything you don’t like to write? there are several things i WON'T write , but i don't know if there's anything i particularly dislike . i feel like if i have the right writing partner we can make most anything fun .

is there anything you really enjoy writing? i love writing things i've never written before ! new characters , new interactions , cool plots i've never written out , etc . i like to keep it exciting .

do you write in silence or do you play music? i either listen to lyricless music or write in silence . every once in awhile i can write with songs with lyrics on but it has to be really quiet . i'll turn on my character playlists in those moments , but i honestly think i do my best writing in silence .

do you plan your replies or wing them? both ! i don't have an explanation here , it just depends on the thread and the plot (if any) and when and how inspiration strikes .

Hi hi!! As promised!! How did Aster get her name? So curious about how they settled on that!!

" Well mom loves gardening! ever since she picked up that garden when she was younger its been one of her favorite things. " Aster snorts, waving a hand around. " Personally, couldn't care less about gardening, too boring! HAH! Does not stop me from being dragged away to help sometimes though, its like a really, really reallllyyy lame chore " " Mom named me and my sibling after flowers and plants, since she cherishes them a lot. Talks a lot about how its not just because she enjoys gardening, but how much seeing plants meant for her the first time she saw em... blah blah blah... N' we changed her whole world for the better too... whatever, whatever! " " That's the long "my moms super duper sentimental and sappy and yada yada" explanation! Usually I just go because of the flowers and because my mom is total nerd. " [ ooc response below ] --- Long story short, yeah it was as simple as Silver really, really took on plants, gardening, etc, as one of her favorite hobbies. Of course there's plenty of sentimental value coming from someone who was born and grew up in a wasteland of future. Aster, the oldest, as stated before is named after aster flowers, and was named mostly after appearance of the flowers ( coming in blue, pink, purple, red and white ). Aster does NOT have any interest in gardening, but does love a good flower, even if he could never be bothered to do more than admire it. She likes the name and thinks its fitting as she is pretty awesome and cool and awesome again, he's named after a pretty flower and shows that off by dressing himself up to be proud of that Aster is named after a flower, and his younger sibling ( the other jetilver / silvjet kid, owned by lethalbreadkills ) is named Calamintha ( just called Mint for short by most of her family ) and the youngest and newest edition is Zinnia ( Also owned by lethalbreadkills, Zonilver fankid ) so the flower/plant/herb theme is present through out them all! Silver did most of the naming, though now that I think about it probably discussed possible names with Jet too, to see if there was any that jet liked. So, of course the aster, which also just means star, worked out! Mint is probably the one Silver fully just went on her own with, and Zinnia IS a flower, but also keeps up that silly naming theme all the no zone residents had. Name that starts with a Z babey!!!

[ On another note, before I finish this off as I wanna clarify some things! ] - One, I'm aware silver uses he/him pronouns in canon. though in this lil au and my own personal headcanons outside of this, she is a trans woman, idk silver is so transgender to me personally. Silver being any kind of transgender is so duper duper correct, but this take specifically takes on the trans woman route - Two, while aster never refers to Zinnia as a sibling, they are infact siblings. Silver is in a polygamous relationship between jet and Zonic, Zonic and Jet aren't dating, but they're both dating Silver etc etc so don't worry! there wasn't a divorce in the slightest between Silver and Jet LMAOO

Thinking about my raised-as-a-Sith Anakin AU, and how it would be cool to have singing as a symbol for freedom. Though I'd try to keep it understated.

I've always loved the scene in The Approaching Storm of Anakin singing and thinking of his mom, and then Obi-Wan telling him he's actually got a really good voice. I headcanon that Anakin sang and hummed to himself as a kid, but stopped doing it where anyone could hear after his voice changed, because he hated the cracking, and it was embarrassing.

But it would be a cool thing to have in TMH, where the prologue opens with Anakin singing his mother's funeral song, and then gets taken and given a new name, Vader.

Jump forward 6 or 7 years, and Obi-Wan has this padawan, Aster-Ryn, who loves music, and it's just something she's often doing, singing or humming.

She grew up in a place where she could express herself freely within loving boundaries, she could have learned to play almost any instrument in the galaxy, she could have heard a hundred different kinds of singing from the hundreds of different kinds of species at the Temple. I bet Mace took her to the theatre a few times (probably to also teach her some lessons about fame or other important things, because it's Mace, but anyway).

And contrast that with Vader who never sings, and he wears a mask with a vocoder in it so he always sounds menacing and off. It's like he only growls. He hasn't sung once since Shmi died.

But as he gets to know Obi-Wan, and by extention Aster-Ryn, he hears her music, and he remembers how Shmi used to sing to him. Songs of hope and dreams and freedom, things they might never have, but the music made those things real for their hearts and minds.

Singing is like speaking, it's having a voice, a way of personal expression.

And I love the idea of that being a little sign of his progress, that music slowly starts meaning something to him again, and he starts humming, then singing songs with no words, because he has no words that express his pain and loss and anger and fear.

But finally Anakin gets to that point of being able to sing in words again, and it's a small but powerful part of breaking free from the Sith. Just as important as his first smile, his first laugh, the first time he cries in front of Obi-Wan. All part of reestablishing his personhood, and agency.

I wouldn't want to overdo it, but it would be a fun thread to run through the story. Also Aster-Ryn is supposed to be based off me, and I'm always singing/whistling/humming/playing music, so.... :))))
