Seeing these two shots together in the trailer coupled with Sonic's line of "What did you do?" makes me so incredibly nervous.

Saw Fortress II
Well, is this what you've been waiting for?
So, as some of you may or may not know, Saw is getting a new movie, Saw X, in two days and I'm so excited for it to come out! I decided to pay tribute to this movie by making a crossover between Saw and, of course, Team Fortress 2. I've been getting interested and invested in the Saw franchise, from its story to the characters and especially the creative but deadly traps. Took me about 22 days to create as I had classes and needed to take breaks every once in a while, but I finally finished it and presented it to my brother as a birthday gift (as well as an official Fallout cookbook).
Now, for the fans of both Saw and TF2, I'll explain the reason why I chose the characters and their designated roles. It's time to play a game.
Character Comparison and Roles
Warning: Spoilers for the Saw franchise
RED Engineer: John Kramer aka Jigsaw - Well it's pretty much obvious why. They're both engineers. They both are talented in creating many different unique contraptions that are beneficial, but deadly and dangerous. Engie also has his morals, although it's way different from John's. Let's not forget that Engie can be somewhat a little sadistic and loves seeing his enemies go down, although John hates sadistic people despite the irony in his traps. Also, are we gonna ignore his Gunslinger taunt kill and his sinister, evil laugh? I'm not sure if Engie should have the Gunslinger with him, but I think it would be pretty cool to have it on him. Maybe in this version when he attempts to commit suicide and fails, but all he's left is a completely maimed hand, he cuts it off entirely and replaces it. It would be a pretty cool backstory as to why he has it and would make a really cool reveal to show to the audience. I wonder what Engie sounds like saying the iconic line "Game Over"?
BLU Medic: Dr. Lawrence Gordon - It's also pretty obvious why. He's a doctor. (Can you guess the reference?) Dr. Gordon is my favorite character in the series, and I love seeing the change and progress in his character from a doctor and trap victim in the first Saw film to John's favorable accomplice and in his words, "My greatest asset" in Saw 3D/Saw: The Final Chapter/ Saw VII (Yeah, I can't believe that movie has multiple names). In a way, it makes sense to have Medic as Dr. Gordon because just like how it was shown at the end of Saw VII that he and John worked great together, Medic and Engie are also seen working together in Expiration Date as lab partners. They both would work great as an amazing sadistic duo. Also, I think it's kind of cute to have Engie give Medic a prosthetic foot after he too cuts it off entirely. Not only would it make sense because Engie knows a thing or two about prosthetics, but it would show that Medic and Engie both have something in common: cut off what's unnecessary to help with your survival. Medic would also try to justify and reason Engie's actions. Also, I love Dr. Gordon's "Game Over" line, it's soooooo good!!! It's my personal favorite (Of course nothing beats John's iconic classic version). I could totally imagine how great Medic would sound saying that line!
BLU Spy: Detective Lieutenant Mark Hoffman - Ok, this is where things start to get a little interesting. Hoffman became John's accomplice after replicating his ideas and making his own traps that John never made himself. In a way, he's becoming Jigsaw. Just like how Spy can become and replicate any class, Hoffman also became more mysterious and secretive to his fellow colleagues and tried to frame Special Agent Peter Strahm as Jigsaw. In the end, when he gets caught, he goes against everyone and executes them, so the secret never comes out. Also, another reason why Spy is Hoffman and please tell me if I'm not the only one here who thought this when watching Saw: Did anyone else get Hoffman and Strahm mixed up because they almost look like the same person and it's always confusing when there's a scene that focuses on one of them but it's actually the other? I decided to have two Spies in the story with the BLU Spy as Hoffman and the RED Spy as Strahm since they look the same minus the color.
Miss Pauling: Amanda Young - You're probably thinking, "Why her? Is it because she just so happens to be female and I just filled her in that role?" Well yes, but actually no. It's because Amanda was very loyal to John, looking up to him, defending him constantly, and was very close to him. Miss Pauling fits that role when it comes to the Administrator, but here she's loyal to Engie. I feel like she likes Engie the most out of any other class, so she would definitely help him out as well as get advice from him. She also can get shit done when being asked to accomplish a task. Sadly, we know what's to come for Amanda. Just like how in the comics Miss Pauling fails to bring the Australium, Amanda fails in John's tasks as he reveals to her that she's part of another game. I do feel like Miss Pauling was stuck playing around in the Administrator's game and it was also implied that every year the Administrator sends people to assassinate her to see if she succeeds as if it's an employee review. So, yeah, Miss Pauling and Amanda both are stuck in pretty tight situations.
RED Pyro: Billy the Puppet - Ah, yes, who could we ever forget? The main icon of the series. Both Pyro and Billy have terrifying appearances that'll leave you quivering on sleepless nights. I used to fear Billy as a kid, but now I see him as endearing and strangely, but freakishly, adorable. Pyro is freaky-looking, but he's such an adorable bundle of flames. I could definitely imagine seeing Pyro riding on Billy's iconic tricycle. That would be so funny, cute, and scary. As for Pyro's voice, since Billy is voiced by John (and Hoffman, I think? Idk), I'm not sure if Engie (or Spy) should voice Pyro since Pyro speaks in muffles. Maybe they should, idk. I also don't know if Pyro should speak in mumbles from time to time or whether he should have the ability to move and just walk around or just remain seated. And, of course, I don't know if Pyro should do his iconic laugh (maybe sometimes, idk). What I do know however is that Pyro should definitely have the iconic Billy laugh.
RED Balloonicorn/The Combustible Cutie Cosmetic (Yeah, I know it's pink, but it's the RED team's version which is why it's pink): Pighead Mask - Oink! Or in this case, Neigh! The mask that John and his accomplices dress up as with the iconic robe (though I'm not sure if this robe should remain red and black or pink and black, maybe the first option should be for Engie since he's the leader while the accomplices get the latter, or not, maybe they should match Engie, idk). At first, I chose Balloonicorn since it's related to Pyro and I know he'll love seeing everyone dress up as one, but then I remembered that there's a cosmetic for Pyro as a mask called "The Combustible Cutie" that resembles Balloonicorn, and boy does that mask look freaking scary!!! It's really fitting for both Saw and TF2 as a whole! It's pretty funny and scary to imagine getting kidnapped by a herd of pink unicorns all because you've been very naughty.
I hope fans of Saw and Team Fortress 2 enjoy this lovely piece of fanart as this has become one of my all-time favorites to create. I was also listening to the Saw soundtrack specifically the Zepp/Main Saw Themes. My favorite being, of course, "Hello Zepp". It fits Engie and John's character theme even though it's Zepp's (although you can argue that it IS John's since it's his perspective since he's saying hello, which I agree). But my actual favorite is "Zepp Overture" because to me it sounds like a holy church. I especially like the way the string instruments sound. Yeah, I know you can argue that Dr. Gordon has a theme at the end of Saw VII called "Dr. Gordon Montage" and "The Final Zepp" but to me, I think this theme fits Medic the best because, y'know, he replicates that sound by playing an actual saw when you taunt which is both funny and adorable. And it really fits his character to be seen as a holier-than-thou and especially a God. This might also fit Spy, but idk. I'm not sure which themes work for Spy and Miss Pauling or even Pyro (if you want Pyro and Engie to share the same theme, then that's fine by me). I might need to go back and listen to all of them depending on the movies that Hoffman and Amanda appear in. Maybe some of you can suggest one. But anyway, please go listen to the Saw soundtrack, especially the Zepp/Main Saw Themes, it's soooooo good!!! I might as well argue that it's one of, if not, THE best horror themes out there!!!
Here's a link to listen to it while you look at the art or whether you are interested in the Saw series and its music:
youtube
Welp, like I said before, I hope you fans enjoy it!!! I just can't' wait for Saw X to come out soon on September 29!!! I just hope and pray the movie is good though. Well, let's just wait and see. But until then,
GAME OVER!

I just watched the finale again and what was the idea of c!drunz killing the server and reviving the server again supposed to mean, was that whole saw trap scene staged? because how were they gonna gather everyone and kill them all, and then revive them till they got their simple peaceful family and life back and if is staged, why even say all that to c!clingy if they were sick of c!clingy fighting c!dream all the time and seeing him as the big bad. If its not staged, why is it something that they thought would work? I feel like I've misinterpreted it as like c!drunz gathering everyone around like they're sheep into a pen lmao. Another thing is, they wanted to test the heroic/sacrificial limbo but the way they phrase the conversation is as if the person that died is gonna die forever while the other person leaves to tell everyone what happened which makes me believe that part was also staged because lets say if c!tubbo stayed behind and died making the sacrifice, then they'd revive him, find out the limbo and then would they like kill him again? like what would they do, put him in prison, let him be free, treat him like vikk and lazar despite saying that they made a mistake with those experiments and revived and killed too many times.
And if the server is off balance by revives and kills why would they want to kill everyone on the server then revive again to begin with. I'm just a little confused on the plan and I think you were the blog that said that it was all staged iirc and I wanted your insight into it because oh man I am struggling here. I do get their plan isn't meant to make sense though I feel like I missed something which has made me more lost.
Hmmm asking all the good questions. Well I should say to start that while I do think we should look at what staged duo does and says with skepticism, after all these two have shown they are liars especially to clingy duo so there are a lot reasons to doubt them. On the other hand 1) technically it can’t really be staged because it wasn’t super planned out, clingy duo came and they were not expecting it. 2) It is the finale and the content creators would know this so they would try and give us at least some answers…
Anyways while their actual Plan remains unclear, though I have some theories and thoughts about it [here], there are things we can determine pretty reasonably are legit or not, because we know they tell both lies and truth. For example, we know they experimented with Lazar and Vik - so they do spill truth obviously. It’s just how to determine what is and wasn’t true.
The biggest thing I can say we probably can say pretty strongly is that that saw trap was such a load of bs. For starters, it wasn’t meant for clingy duo, and when I’m thinking about characters who are willing to be selfless and die a hero, that would be significant enough to Dream or Punz to do this, not a whole lot of options come to mind. I’ve talked about it [here] about who it could be for, but since then I’m starting to wonder if it was supposed to serve a different purpose entirely… anyways the other thing and perhaps most noteworthy is that staged duo doesn’t seem to give a damn about the trap one way or another. When Tommy shows up in the finale and says Tubbo is dead, Dream doesn’t believe him, double checking with Punz to make sure he checked [clip] (checked what? No freaking idea, limbo I guess or more likely to see if there was a body probably… I don’t know). So the fact that they seem to care so little about their experiment and clingy duo in general is telling to me. The other thing is that the variables that change limbo seem to me to be pretty minor differences, like I’m not even sure if there’s a way to replicate and make it back to the same limbo, if it matters both on how you die and what happens before. I mean multiple people have died to a sword or axe, presumably specifically Dream’s sword or axe, I mean how different is Tommy dying in the finale to him getting beat to death in the jail cell with a potato, I mean plus technically Ranboo’s death could be seen as selfless right? Dying for his son seems kinda selfless, (but they didn’t even go talk to him in limbo anyways, so do they really care about limbo that much?), therefore I don’t really think that point matters. Hell even if it did, I don’t see why they couldn’t test this on Vikk or Lazar (maybe that was their original plan?…). I mean it just sounds so stereotypically evil - especially the way he presents it, the way he says they couldn’t test it because they are evil [clip], and the fact that it aligns with the hero dynamic fueling Tommy’s ego and such. In other words, playing into his world view. And whenever they are doing that I’d say it’s a major red flag. So, the saw trap I think we can say pretty reasonably, based on what we do know is facetious, the question of what the room is for and who however remains up for speculation.
As far as them killing everyone, I don’t think this is true either. I mean for starters why not kill Tubbo and Tommy to start the process, why not kill Sapnap like he talked about to Foolish, while on his own. Like if the goal is to kill everybody why let someone go tell everyone to come after them. Killing Sam, Sapnap, Foolish, Quackity… etc is a lot easier than trying to kill then all teamed up together. And we know unless they have some super weapon that they aren’t confident enough to even kill them all as they said in the finale and here [clip]. So unless they plan on trapping them in the prison and nuking them, or summoning a freaking dragon, or teaming up with XD or something, I don’t think that’s a feasible plan and they may be very screwed up mentally but they aren’t stupid.
They also are all about the balance but yet have no issues bringing Tommy back after he gets murdered, and they seem just in general so calm to whatever unbalance of such is going on. I mean we do know to some extent that it’s truth, XD tells Foolish his lives are limited because he’s low on power and he needs more death to fuel him, and we know the book is directly connected to XD since in the prison podcast it summoned him. So the unbalance is pretty confirmed as true even if perhaps their ‘solution/plan’ may not be. All the best lies have truth in them.
Which brings us to more questions than answers. Why bring clingy duo to prison in the first place? What and or who was the saw trap actually for? What was the actual plan? And why monologue to clingy duo at all? To which I unfortunately have little satisfying answers, which trust me frustrates no one more than me ;). What I can say perhaps their reason for lying and putting on a show at all was that I think they planned on letting someone go and for some reason wanted them to tell the others. And I base this on two things - their utter nonchalance, the way they just don’t seem to even care about clingy beyond being infuriated by them murdering Dream , and just the absolute unhinged way they act at times. The villainous, “This is so cute. We shouldn’t interrupt them” [clip]. The way they talk about the saw trap/experiment - “we’re just too evil” and like Punz’s ominous “choose wisely” as they leave [clip].
I don’t know but a good portion of that monologue feels very - we were practicing our evil laughs backstage before we walked out here, ya know… ;D

Something I wrote like last month to my friend!! Didn't proof read this or anything kinda just what I thought at the time, if I missed anything tell me!!
I heard somebody say how most ppl portray Andre as the mastermind of the plans while Cal kinda just lingered around but they thought the opposite
They brang up how Andre wanted to go w the plan because of him getting bullied n felt his only way of revenge was to cause pain
But Cal was just there
Cal didn't have a reason to go w the plan he just kinda did it
It could be seen as him following Andre but in the movie if u look closer u can see Cal being the one who wants to hurt more ppl
Like in the scene when they're on the floor together explaining their weapons Andre is just elaborating n Cal is saying what weapon would cause the most harm n how to do it
Andre was known as the outcast throughout the entire movie while Cal was known as a normal kid who was more accepted but his gf even said how he acts different around Andre, saying how he acts more violent like Andre is showing how quickly he can switch between personalities from being a normal kid to another violent outcast
Even if the whole plan was Andre's idea Cal's involvement could've fumed it to be more violent than it would've already been
W the op saying how Andre's situation was more of a kid w violent tendencies going after the ppl who wronged him while Cal's was more of a kid who's end goal was if he dies he's gonna take as many ppl as possible w himself
Not ONLY that but near the end of the CCTV footage scene (this will just be abt the CCTV footage scene) he wants things to go his way, like EXACTLY his way
When Andre starts messing around w one of the victims Cal gets mad n starts yelling at him to keep moving so they take out more people
Then when they reach the horizontal tables of the library they shoot some other kids till there's only two kids left, a girl and a guy
The girl starts crying and screaming so Andre starts making fun of her n Cal just walks around on the other table immitating the guy under them
When Andre gets up n starts walking around Cal takes control and starts yelling at the girl asking if she's dead yet n when she screams back he says no she's not n tells her to shut up
Then the guy starts trying to talk him out of it (with the girl still crying in the background) n Cal actually talks to him seeming like he's gonna stop but then yells out at the girl to shut up again then starts shooting her
He then shoots the guy right after
This SHOWS how earlier in the movie when he was acting rlly nice to everyone it could've just been an act
Him acting how he does here shows how bad he is, he doesn't care who's getting hurt as long as it's someone and scares them as much as possible
Then Andre walks behind the couch to see a guy they used to know, the guys starts begging for mercy saying "please sir" the two laugh n Andre says he likes it (thats a whole different conversation) n cal just laughs at the statement saying something along the lines of, "he called u sir"
Then Andre says he's not gonna kill him since he's too pathetic, saying he's gonna live today
As Andre starts walking off Cal starts shooting the guy n Andre looks back just to shrug it off
Andre was gonna SPARE him but Cal wanted him dead
SHOWING AGAIN that as long as someone is hurt he doesn't care
When they kill the last few ppl inside the school the police pull up n Andre tells Cal to join him in a shoot off w them when Cal disagrees and asks if he'd rather die from a cops bullet or his own
Andre says "ig ur right" n Cal says "u guess or u know?" Making Andre repeat himself saying the words "I know" INSTEAD (idk if they said these exact words just something along these lines)
Cal NEEDS to know Andre agrees w him
Then right as its about to happen Andre stops Cal in his count n says he can't do it w Cal trying to convince him to just pull the trigger w him n keeps doing so UNTIL Andre finally agrees to do it again
The lines, "I can't do it" being followed up by "u don't have to think abt it, just do it" shows all what I said AGAIN but this time w a hint of wanting to go out in a bang w his bsf (same here these quotes r just along the lines)
When they figure out how they r gonna do it the two finally pull the trigger
THIS WHOLE SCENE SHOWS JUST WHAT I SAID IN THE FIRST PART
EVEN IF ANDRE PLAYED A PART IN THE MAKING OF THE PLAN, CAL WANT TO KILL AS MANY PPL AS POSSIBLE AND HAVE HIS WAY THE ENTIRE TIME
IF IT ISN'T HOW HE LIKES IT HE GETS MAD AND MAKES IT HIS WAY
Alr that's what I got so far! From the end I haven't analyzed the other parts

Mental health update of sorts. Heavy stuff under readmore!!
Summary: still upset about getting cheated on forever ago but I'll be okay
Guess who's self harming again!! Its meeeee~
Read through some texts between my partner and one of the guys they cheated on me with. Most of it was in person (fun fact: they were roommates at the time!) So it wasnt much of it but it was still fucking uncomfortable!! I dont feel bad for reading it. I think they gave up their privacy when they did what they did tbh. But I know I shouldnt have done that because now its so easy to picture and to get the day-nightmare scenes set just right.
Me doing this was prompted by seeing him in passing at the store today. He was just shopping with his kid. As if he wasnt the gross pathetic asshole he was in those texts. And here my partner is shopping with ME, as if they werent the avoidant cheating asshole they were in those texts. All while I still dont know shit about what really happened between them!!
I have to remember that most of the time I do still love them a lot. Its just really hard to believe that they just,, got better. That they realized they were in love with me and they'll never do this again. It feels like a line. They still willingly disrespected the O N E rule I gave them. With MULTIPLE people. All while trying to convince me that I dont ACTUALLY want them to tell me if they are having sex with other people (real thing they did!! I was telling them the whole entire time "i might be okay with you sleeping with someone else but you need to tell me as soon as possible" and they kept telling me that they didnt believe I wouldnt be cool with that (which I would have been!! Duh! Or I wouldnt have said it!!) All while still actively PLANNING on NEVER telling me they were talking to two other people!! And slept with one of them!!)
I know things are better lately between us. But I cant help but think theres such a thin line here keeping me from getting hurt again. I'm afraid of trusting it, and I'm tired of having to consider it. Always having to think about it. Every time they go out, having to ask what they're doing and if I'm not sent a picture from wherever they are I panic.
The girls (which is to say the other parts of me that consider themselves my partner's girlfriends) can talk forever about how happy and safe they feel in this relationship. Genuinely, they could all go on and on and on! I know I'm sticking around here for good reason (and not just because I can't afford rent on my own!) I think its important to remember the good things and what this is all for. I wouldnt struggle this much here if I didnt love them. They make me coffee every day and open doors for me and we laugh and make music and share our little hobbies and interests together and we have such cute little patterns & routines. We're a family and we're here for eachother. We cry together all the time. They've comforted me though some wild shit. We host our little parties and get togethers as a team! We spend pretty much all of our time together (not just because I'm afraid of leaving them alone but also) because we really truly love being around eachother.
I just wish we didnt have such a rocky start that 7 months later I still can't get over it. It kills me every day that things didnt turn out just a little bit different. I would have liked going my whole life without having to have experienced how shittily they handled that. But its too late for that now!! Gotta just keep moving forward I guess! Relapsing into hurting myself over this situation is, realistically, just a slip up. These happen. I'm still recovering. I am still going to be okay. Things will be better again!! I was just triggered today but things will be better again!!
Gonna go to bed now maybe... yeah... its weed and homestuck time until the Z's drop or whateverr. Goodnight everypony!
#-cass#apathy over the situation is washing over me#I. cannot summon the urgency to care any longer#《~*whoosh*~》

Part two! Also putting this under the cut.
Maedhros- Okay. I'm personally biased on this one because he has Big Oldest Sibling Energy and I can absolutely relate. Also Tol Redhead Preddy and Holy Shit The Determination. But he also was personally involved in no less than (and possibly more than) three kinslayings, is so much of a drama queen that he named his mid-eastern temperate fortress Ever-Cold, and despite being explicitly stated to be a tactical genius, genuinely thought it would be a good idea to go parley with the embodiment of evil alone like that didn't scream "betrayal and 30 years of torture." Points for doing Song Marco Polo with Fingon before Sam and Frodo did tho, and also at least he and Maglor didn't kill Elrond and Elros. 10/10 Boi needs a hug and a nap
Luthien- First of all, disqualified for the same reasons as Elrond. She's also peredhel, but it's even worse bc instead of being half-elf, a quarter human, and a quarter maia, she's just straight-up half maia. That's just unfair, y'all, she's literally half goddess. On top of that she chose to die with Beren so she's functionally human, unlike Elrond who even with his peredhel status it could be argued counts as an elf since he chose to sail to Valinor like one. Anyway that said she's also 100% best girl. Beren said he wanted to marry her and got sent on a deadly quest to win her hand, and despite being put in a treehouse like some sort of Elf Rapunzel she snuck out and joined him on the quest bc she wanted to marry him too. She sang a werewolf to sleep. She won one of Sauron's fortresses by basically threatening to curse him to be ugly forever and he just gave it to her. She knocked the crown with the silmarils clean off Morgoth's head so Beren could take one. She's just chef's kiss. 10/10 Unproblematic Queen, I'll hear no argument Arwen- She's... okay this is gonna sound mean but she's just Luthien but less cool. Aragorn and Arwen are explicitly the Beren and Luthien of the third age and like, I love her, and I love them (even if they're cousins), but it was kinda unfair to put her right under the Luthien option, that's just asking people to compare them. Also she suffers from the peredhel problem too. 10/10 Giving her the horse scene was pretty cool in the movie Gil-Galad: Kind of inherited a dying lineage and a corrupt kingdom tbh. I think he could've been one of the greats if he hadn't been a kid when the Noldor were getting up to all their shenanigans, but unfortunately he wasn't. Was smart enough to turn away Sauron when he came knocking on Eregion's doors in disguise but was not smart enough to tell everyone else to do so too, so it didn't last. Tangentially responsible for Elrond founding Rivendell and more-than-tangentially responsible for the alliance that got Sauron to chill for a few hundred years. Last King of the Noldor. 10/10 He deserved better
Celebrimbor: Like Arwen is Luthien but slightly to the left, Celebrimbor is Feanor but slightly to the left. In this case, the difference came in the sense that Feanor had All the Skills and None of the Common Sense, Celebrimbor had Most of the Skills and Some Common Sense. However, he's also the person who let Sauron into Eregion (despite Galadriel and Gil-Galad distrusting him) because he also got all of Feanor's pride. Did pull a bit of a Bad Bitch move by using Sauron's blueprints to make the elven rings without letting Sauron touch or influence them tho, so at least he wasn't entirely stupid. 10/10 Could've used better advisors but made some cool shit
Someone Else: There are a million others I could discuss here. Fingon. Maglor. Fingolfin. Finarfin. Thingol. Finrod. Celeborn. Aredhel. Finwe himself. Nerdanel. Miriel. Indis. Tauriel if I feel like pulling from the movies. Eol (just kidding no one likes Eol). Literally tons and tons and tons of elves who could throw their hats in the ring, Noldor and not. But this is two reblogs long already (Or so tumblr is telling me with its "Sorry, there was an error with your post") and we've already talked about Best Boi so I'm gonna cut it here lol.

Howd you rank your liking of Megop thru the continuities?
Before I get to that, let me just sat that the idea of megop in itself does a lot or me, so I'm probably gonna be into any megop as long as it vagely follows the standard TF pattern. The inherent intimacy of being archnemesis, being each other's equal match, only being able to stand on equal footing with the enemy leader, the respect among fellow warriors, blurring the lines of what romance even means, the grandiosity of it all.
So, the actual ranking after tfp and idw is not something set in stone or anything, my answer may have been different on another day. Only includes things I've watched/read, which aren't that many:
1.- IDW1 and TFP: You cannot make me choose between these two. IDW1 is, of course, my favorite continuity, and even tho the megop is not as strong in some parts, it still has all the elements I like. The fact that they know and understand each other so well despite never being friends. Megatron lives to fight, he needs a dance partner. Optimus has spent his entire life chasing after Megatron one way or another, Megatron made him who he is. Their paths mirror each other even when they're in separate series altogeher. Megatron doesn't hate Optimus. Look at Chaos Theory! That thing is one step from being a megop bdsm fic! Lots of things to say here, but we need to move on.
Now on the other hand we have TFP, that's the classic, the blueprint, my-nemesis-comic.jpg. If I had to guess, I'd say there was a before and after TFP in fandom regarding megop, but I have no idea actually, so don't quote me on that. Still, that show is insane, Megatron basically flirts with Optimus every time they're on screen, having Megatron back is the one thing Optimus wants for himself and he gives up even that. It has all the breakup drama! Except for Megatron, they might as well not have broken up, but the nature of their relationship changed. Battling Optimus is his favorite thing in the world. The show really does give the impression that these two are on a world of their own. And while I usually like to disregard most of the Aligned side materials on my reading of tfp, those megop bits of Exodus really are something, huh.
2.- IDW2 they were friends, now they're destined to fight each other for the next million years. They're not as intense as tfp but damn, Megatron might as well be telling Optimus he wants him chained in his bed.
3.- Cyberverse: Same thing but goofier. Megatron literally didn't win the war because he was too gay to kill Optimus and then died in his arms. Amazing. (He's not dead he's in the hospital).
4.- Sunbow Cartoon/General G1 concept: It's simple and straightforward, you can project onto it the things I like about megop and because it's G1 it's very malleable. You can take it in all kinds of directions! Always love to see what fandom does with it.
4.5.- Shattered Glass: same thing but in reverse and evil Optimus is hot. That's it.
5.- Prime Wars: It's G1, but they're old, tired and retired. They should meet and beat each other up like old times. And the whole sequence of Optimus firing Megatron? 10/10
6.- Netflix' War for Cybertron: this couls have been so good, except the show was pretty bad at properly explaining its backstory. Still, a girl takes what she can get and those scenes in season 2 are juicy. But I tempted to put this higher in the list because WFC gave me on of the best takes on megop NEMESIS/GALVATRON. Evil angst boyfriends!! They are in this situation because they were both idiots, Megatron finally got to kill Optimus and ended his last moments as himself regreting not working with him. Now they are together again. It took being enslaved by Unicron for them to get along again, but they have each other now, they have nothing but each other, not even who they used to be. It's depressing, it's great. I'm gonna have to be the change I want to see and write something about them because I'm obsessed.
7.- TFA: I used to enjoy it more, but I've fallen out of love for it. Lacks a lot of the elements I like about most megop, but there's appeal in Optimus catching the eye of this almost-mythological terror because he managed to beat him. Most of the content for it is not really to my taste, tho, but House Divided is my favorite take on it.
8.- Beast Wars: It's okay. It's not a bad ship or anything, but it doesn't really awaken anything in me. They hate each other, sure, but not in a gay way, more in the way you hate a mosquito. And then, as far as hatemances go, Rampage and Depth Charge show up to completely.
Mmm that should be it, unless I'm forgetting something. I have still read fic for other megops and I must say the whole Protector/Prime concept really appeals to me, but afaik it doesn't show up in the movies and I'm not interested in watching them regardless.
I'm eagerly awaiting Earthspark, not to have hope, but I feel like I'm gonna lose my mind.

INSUFFERABLE l KIM DOYOUNG
GENRE: mature theme, slight smut
WARNINGS: choking, dom themes, cursing
asshole! Doyoung , enemies to ???
Words : 4k
You’re put in a group project with the most annoying pretentious jerk your law class had to offer. Immediately Doyoung tries to boss you around but you being you, you weren’t taking his shit...soon enough he finds out he can dominate you after all...in a very different way.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Theres no fucking way...no fucking way” you groaned looking at your group project list, eyes narrowing on possibly the worst people within your course year. Slumping in your seat you half smiled at the girl who approached you, one of your fellow members from project hell.
“Heyyy y/n I think we're in a group together” she grinned and took a seat next to you, flipping her red hair over her shoulder and checked herself out in her mirror covered cellphone.
Dami was probably the most narcissistic person you'd ever met and being in law, it was definitely a common trait around here. Dami sat up and began tapping you on your shoulder frantically “He’s in our group! Kim Doyoung is in our group” the two of you watched as the dark haired man conversed with the lecturer, casually turning back to look at the table where you guys sat, in annoyance.
“That guy is such a prick” a guy who slid in the desk behind you, Seungmin said and Dami nodded in agreeance as you all continued to watch him.
“Ive never really spoken to him before” you cocked your head, “What’s so annoying about him?”
This time another group member joined in, a quieter girl who normally sat in the back Jisoo, cleared her throat, “He is really bossy and only likes to do things his own way.”
‘Well he is about to meet his worst nightmare’ you thought knowing nothing pissed you off more than someone telling you what to do.
The muffled conversations around you began to soften as you felt someone stand over you and drop a file on your desk. Looking up, you locked eyes with the one and only Kim Doyoung, dressed in his usual black slacks, black turtleneck and clear rimmed spectacles. He raised his eyebrow at you as if you were supposed to guess what he wanted.
“What ?” you challenged him, folding your arms across your chest and returned an eyebrow raise.
Doyoung sighed in annoyance, his long slender fingers moved across the file and opened it swiftly, “I want you to do roll call” he said coldly.
A lump formed in your throat. You felt like you were being talked down to, it was something that infuriated the hell out of you. He wasn't older than you, nor was he getting better grades than you but somehow he had a superiority complex. Dami quickly nudged you and you rolled your eyes, “Seungmin ?”
“Here!”
“Jisoo ?” you placed a tick as you called out each name.
“Dami, Jangjun…?” you looked around and noticed that the usually loud comedic relief in your classroom was nowhere to be seen.
“I think Jangjun is late, i’ll text him” Seungmin sighed and pulled out his phone. You turned back to the roll call sheet and pursed your lips, “Kim Doyoung ?”
Doyoung just looked down at you, sucking in his bottom lip and raised that damn eyebrow at you again.
“You need to say ‘here’ do you not know how roll call works ?” you tested him and he rolled his eyes and sighed, “here.”
You smiled to yourself, completely satisfied with pissing him off when your internal celebration was interrupted by an out of breath Jangjun, who threw his bag on the floor and took a seat on Dami’s desk. Doyoung looked at him disgustingly, and even though you too were obviously annoyed by Jangjun’s tardiness, was that reaction really necessary ?
“Be on time” Doyoung sneered and grabbed the roll call file making his way back to the lecturer.
“Fuck Kim Doyoung is in this group ?” Jangjun groaned, sharing the sentiments of the entire meeting. You couldnt believe these were the people you had to work with for the week. It's like you could almost feel an outburst waiting to happen, whether it be from you or Kim Doyoung.
Doyoung returned and took out his phone, not really looking at any of you as he spoke, “we should make a group chat to update each other on work”
The group hastily shared each other's details and Doyoung created the chat and pinned a set of three rules.
The first was the group was strictly to be used for the project, no small talk or any other messages that weren't related to the project. The second rule was that no one talks about the group content in private chats as it will cause confusion among members. Lastly you weren't allowed to message after 9pm unless it was an emergency, a very serious emergency.
“Dang is this the military ?” Jangjun snickered as Seungmin and Dami tried their best to hide their laughs. It was typical of people like Dami and Jangjun to not take anything seriously. Their families were well off and they were just studying just for a piece of paper you call a degree. Doyoung couldn't even hide his annoyance, not like he ever did but he seemed particularly pissed off today.
“Look, just follow the rules and all of you get a free pass and then we never have to speak to each other again” Doyoung spat and made his way to the exit leaving the rest of you in utter shock.
———
The first two days were utter hell as Doyoung tried to take control of almost every aspect of the project and frankly you didn't even mind because his business proposal was flawless, it was just the way he spoke to all of you that drove you insane.
“Dami its not fucking rocket science all you need to do is make a clientele spreadsheet with the mock list the professor gave us” Doyoung didnt even lift his head from his laptop, unaware of the impact his words had on her.
Dami pushed away from the desk and her eyes began to well up and before you knew it she was running out of the library, with Jisoo and Seungmin following quickly out of concern.
“Nice move asshole” you rolled your eyes, continuing to work on your laptop.
Doyoung peered up and pushed his spectacles up, “what was that?”
“I said nice move asshole, do you intend to talk to your future clients like that?” He initiated a different kind of anger from you but you managed to keep your cool. Doyoung shrugged as if what he had said to Dami had not carried any weight and continued typing away.
A few minutes of the members disappearance quickly turned to an hour and Doyoung’s nonchalance about the whole ordeal really ticked you off to the point of slamming your laptop closed and pushed back from the desk.
Doyoung quirked his eyebrow at you, “Is something wrong ?”
“Is something wrong” you mimicked him, “Jangjun hasn't come in today because you sent him on multiple errands, and you just made Dami cry over something so ridiculous”
Doyoung sat back in his seat and rubbed his temples, “They're all freeloaders, you and I are the only ones doing work, why do you care so much about them?”
“Basic human fucking decency maybe?” you groaned and ran your fingers through your hair, “listen im not like them, i'm not gonna take shit from you”
“Sure”
“Youre a fucking asshole Kim Doyoung.”
—-
You lay in bed and replayed that scene with Doyoung in your head multiple times. He was so unbothered by your antics nor did he care about anyone's feelings within the group. He was cold, heartless all he thought about was himself. His cold expression was practically engraved in your head, spending all these hours with him was really not your favourite pastime.
Group 7 gc 7:00pm
KDY: I posted a schedule for tomorrow we will be working in pairs on the highlighted sections.
You took a look at his document and groaned when you saw your name placed next to his. There was no way, no way in hell you want to work with him one on one. Not caring about breaking his rule, you pulled up a private chat with him and began expressing your concerns.
y/n x KDY : 7:10pm
Y/N: Hi, there's no fucking way in hell am I working with you. Change It.
KDY: I said no private chats and no, I'm not changing it.
Y/N: Wouldn't it be better for us to split and have the others actually DO work for once ?
KDY: I barely gave them room for error, we're going to be the most anyway and besides, I'd prefer someone who can handle...my personality.
Y/N: …..so you agree..you are an asshole ?
KDY: I give people a reality check that's all..
Y/N: whatever makes you sleep at night...can I atleast choose our work venue because If I were stuck in a library again with you I might kill you.
KDY: haha..
KDY: sure.
Y/N: mango drop cafe, 10am.
KDY: cool, see you then.
‘Haha’. You had no idea why that text in particular riled you up. Did he find all of this amusing ? Was he making everyone's life a living hell because he enjoyed it ? You stared at his messages and somehow ended up on his profile picture. He was leaning against a railing dressed in all black with his hooded eyes concentrated on the camera lense, Your realization of how attractive he was came from the fact that you stared at the picture for a good 20 minutes. You wondered who took the picture, a girlfriend maybe ? You shook your head. He seemed too uptight to be getting laid. You sighed, closing your phone and awaited yet another day with the insufferable gorgeous man that was Kim Doyoung.
You arrived quite early at the cafe but of course Doyoung was here before you, already typing away at his laptop, in his usual attire. You greeted the barista and placed an order for a chilled cafe latte before making your way over to him.
“Hey” you said simply and took a seat opposite him in the booth. Doyoung’s ears perked up at the sound of your voice and made room for your books on the table.
“You're here early”
“You're already picking a fight with me?” you said casually setting up your workspace.
Doyoung chuckled under his breath and shook his head, “I just didn't expect you this early y/n it's not that serious.”
You ignored his words and got straight to work, not in the mood to play his little game. You felt Doyoung look at you a few times. You weren't sure if it were to check if youre doing the right thing or he was just looking at you.
“Well i'm done with my part” you stretched your arms above your head and yawned.
“Yeah I'm pretty much done too, Do you want another cup of coffee ?” Doyoung offered pointing to your empty cup. You were taken back by his softer demeanor but quickly nodded, “uh yeah sure.”
Doyoung returned carrying a tray of two fresh cups of coffee and a slice of cheesecake. Setting everything down he handed you the extra fork and placed the cheesecake in the middle of the table to make it easier to share.
“H-how much do I owe you ?” You fumbled in your bag for your wallet.
“It's okay, it's my treat” Doyoung replied, placing a piece of cheesecake in his mouth and slowly licking the fork clean. You gulped as his tongue darted out carefully licking the cream from the metal, not leaving any residue behind. You had no idea what the hell was going on but you felt hot, almost claustrophobic.
“You're okay?” Doyoung asked innocently, unaware of what he was doing to you.
“Why are you being...nice?” You questioned, knitting your eyebrows together as the man continued to act as if this was his usual behavior.
Doyoung pursed his lips and placed the fork on the plate, “You want me to be mean to you?”
“No I just don't get-”
“I apologized to Dami and she told me she only overreacted because the guy she likes, Seungmin was there” Doyoung explained and removed his spectacles, “she was embarrassed to ask anyone for help, I paired them up for today.”
“Wait wha-”
“Also Jangjun works at the campus radio” Doyoung continued, “I had only found out the day we all met, I gave him tasks that will allow him more flexibility, that way he doesn't have to join group sessions often.”
You blinked, unable to form any words in order to reply to Doyoung. Especially after he chuckled at your speechlessness, knowing you didn't bother getting his side of the story at first.
“You were right y/n I dont have to be an asshole all the time, I just like to get my work done” He shrugged. You kept eye contact with him but somehow it felt as if he were still toying with you, waiting on your next reaction. He seemed like he played this game often, making sure he always had the upper hand. Doyoung seemed relaxed as he stared at you, taking another scoop of the cheesecake and slowly ran his tongue over his lips after his bite. What the fuck was he doing ?
“Y/N ?” you heard a familiar voice come from the entrance of the cafe. Your attention diverted from Doyoung to the blonde haired boy who began approaching your table.
“Jungwoo ? oh my God what are you doing here ?” You stood up and pulled him into a tight hug and pecked his cheek. Doyoung shifted awkwardly in his seat as he watched your exchange with the stranger.
“I got off early from class about to go to Subway, are you still doing that group project thing?” Jungwoo looked over at your table and half smiled at Doyoung who tried to distract himself with his phone.
“Uh yeah but i'm all done here I think, wanna hang out ?” you hooked arms with Jungwoo as he nodded enthusiastically. You turned around and scratched the back of your head,
“So...uh”
“Were all done you can go, I have somewhere to be anyway” Doyoung smiled as you slowly began packing up your things.
“Alright, see you tomorrow I guess” you bid your goodbye and headed out for lunch with Jungwoo.
—-
You had just finished up your skincare routine and caught up with a few instagram posts when you noticed Doyoung had followed you. Sitting up in bed you scrolled through his feed curiously. Every post was aesthetically pleasing and he looked absolutely hot in every single one of them. He had to have a girlfriend right ? No guy posts pictures this good without women flooding his DMs.
There was no harm in doing the same since he was in your class, you decided to return the follow and close the app. Suddenly your phone vibrated with a new message in your chats.
Y/N X KDY 10:30pm
KDY: hey
Y/N: aren't you breaking two of your rules right now ?
KDY: haha
KDY: I didn't realize what time it was…
Y/N: ….anyways..is this about work at least ?
KDY: kinda… you left one of your books at the cafe. I have it with me.
Y/N: oh… thank you.
KDY: no prob...oh I hope its not a problem I added you on ig
Y/N: no its okay we are friends I guess
KDY: haha I thought I was the insufferable asshole..
Y/N: you are...but not all the time. Look im sorry for saying shitty things about you.
KDY: its all good.
KDY: …….
Y/N: ..whats up?
You twirled your fingers as you watched the three dots from Doyoung pop up and disappear over and over again. What was taking him so long ?
KDY: that guy….that you met at the cafe..is he your boyfriend ?
Y/N: Jungwoo ? no way we've been friends since high school.
KDY: oh..
Y/N:....why would you even ask that ?
KDY: curious.
Y/N: curious about who I'm dating ??
KDY: A little.
You frowned at your phone and noticed Doyoung had changed his profile picture to a selfie. The picture was..something alright. You bit down on your lip as you enlarged the picture, which showed a wet haired Doyoung with his head resting in his palm and his long index finger was placed between his plump lips.
“Fuck y/n get yourself together” you gave yourself a pep talk before opening his chat back up again.
Y/N X KDY 10.54PM
Y/N: fine if you can ask a question can I ask one..
KDY: go ahead
Y/N: who do you keep thirst trapping for ?
KDY: ….haha thirst trapping ?
Y/N: Yeah who do keep posting these hot pics for huh
KDY: …..
KDY: You think i'm hot ?
Fuck. Why did you word it that way. You groaned immediately regretting sending that message but something in you was so curious about him you decided to just risk it, what was the worst that could happen ?
Y/N: well yeah, I mean I'm sure everyone thinks you're attractive, you seem to know it too.
KDY: wow.
KDY: I think you're hot too.
What the hell was going on. You felt your face heat up and you placed your pillow in between your legs as you turned on your side.
KDY: I was almost disappointed when I thought Jungwoo was your boyfriend, he's way too passive.
Y/N: ...and what makes you think you know what kind of man I need ?
KDY: hmmm
KDY: first of, with that fucking attitude of yours..A dominate one.
You swallowed hard as you felt a tingle in your stomach, squeezing your thighs together on the pillow to create more friction.
Y/N: I could say the same for you.
KDY: You may think youre dominate in many aspects...but when it comes to fucking..im the one in charge.
God you hated how hot that sounded. He had you in the palm of his hand through text. You were a mess and he wasn't even the room to fuel it. You wanted him so fucking bad it was insane.
Y/N: running your mouth doesn't equate to doing it you know...
KDY:.....
KDY: then would you like me to show you ?
Everything happened so damn fast. One minute you two were texting the next minute you were sharing your apartment location and Doyoung was on his way over. You scrambled to put on sexier underwear and do your hair, still in shock by the fact that Doyoung was on his way over to bang you.
You jumped when you heard the doorbell and realized it was him. Opening the door you were greeted to a very different look of Doyoung. His hair was messy and reached his eyes. Instead of his usual black academic attire he wore a loose white vest that showed off his toned chest and arms, along with a pair of grey sweatpants.
“Hi” Doyoung smirked, his eyes were dark as he scanned your figure.
“Hi” you responded, leaning against the wall in the hallway and looked up at him. Doyoung slowly approached you, like a lion circling its prey. His slender fingers danced lightly along your body, drawing a line from your waist until he found your throat and wrapped his cold fingers around it. He bit down on his lip as he studied how perfectly his hand looked around it and squeezed gently, smirking after hearing a soft moan emit from you.
“I want you to do as I say, any back chat from you will get you punished you got that ?” he brought his lips down to your neck and exhaled.
You nodded in response but that wasn't good enough for Doyoung. You felt his squeeze on your throat once more and he used his hips to pin you against the wall, “use your words” he gritted his teeth.
“Yes sir” you replied obediently, and felt him smile against your neck.
“Good girl, and if i'm too rough let me know so I can stop okay ?” he replied, his voice changed and it was much sweeter and genuine than before. He placed a soft kiss on your cheek when you nodded and led you to the bed.
Doyoung lay you on the bed, already stripping off his shirt and ordered you to undress yourself and rid him off his sweatpants. You bit down on your lip taking notice of how aroused he was when you palmed his member.
Doyoung watched you through hooded eyes as you discarded his sweatpants and boxers. He softly patted your head and grabbed a tuft of your hair in order to make you look up at him.
“Spit” he ordered, and held out his hand and you did as you were told. You watched as he lathered himself with it, moaning as he stroked himself. He was so damn sexy, biting down on lip and slowly pleased himself as you watched.
“Do you want this inside you sweetheart ?” he cooed and placed a finger under chin.
You nodded quickly, “Yes please”
“What do you want me to do baby ?” He purred and hovered over you as you lay on the bed, breathing heavily as his fingers moved against your warm skin, tracing your curves, ghosting over your heat and returning back to your lips to insert a digit inside.
Doyoung watched diligently as you sucked on his finger like the good girl he knew you were. He finally pulled his finger out and with one swift movement entered with his member before you could even respond to his question. You moaned as he quickly slammed his hips into yours, wasting no time in gaining a rhythm as you marked his back with scratch marks feeling as though you were on a high.
Doyoung fucked you like a pro, wasting no time to switch positions and had you on all fours, slapping your ass before slamming into you again, that pretentious smirk forming on his face as he heard your whimpers asking him for more.
“Are you ready to cum sweetheart ?” he asked, pulling you up as his strokes became slower and tugged on your ear with his teeth.
“Y-yes yes i'm ready” you panted.
“What's the magic word ?” he growled as he grabbed your throat and slowed down his pace as you were nearing your climax.
“Fuck youre so annoying PLEASE, please let me cum Doyoung fuck”
Doyoung chuckled and picked up his pace until you finally climaxed and he followed shortly after, collapsing in the bed next to you.
“You have such an attitude God” he rolled his eyes playfully, bringing the blanket over your bodies and grinned when you moved in to cuddle him.
“I guess you will have to fix that some time” you yawned and wrapped your arm around his waist, “but I have to admit, maybe I do enjoy the insufferable Kim Doyoung bossing me around once in a while.”

Subcon Forest Analysis
Hi everyone I'm here to spill my aggressive overflowing thoughts on Subcon Forest and what it represents because it's been driving me insane since I finished the Sleepy Subcon time rift. Okay let's go. Obvious spoilers for AHIT ahead so proceed with caution.
This is also very, very long.
Disclaimer/warning: I will be discussing abusive/unhealthy relationships in this analysis. I mean. Vanessa. Come on. Also, there is a section on the nooses, and that delves, of course, into mentions of suicide. It will be sectioned off and easily skipped, but if you'd rather be safe and skip the entire post, that's completely understandable! Please stay safe. <3
Alright. Main point to be had here:
Subcon Forest is a giant extended metaphor for Snatcher's mind and character.
You all get to now listen to me spout nonsense about metaphors and symbolism because I'm a sucker for analysis and I'm given an opportunity to go ham. So perish.
The Ice
Let's start with the most obvious and most glaring thing in Subcon. The ice. It's everywhere. Not just outside Vanessa's manor, either; no, it's throughout the village, too. Shows up in the well and in random locations sprinkled about. When it comes to literal plot, we know that ice is just what lingers after Vanessa's wintery curse on Subcon. But going deeper and analyzing the meaning behind it?
Well, let's look at this from the perspective I've suggested. Subcon Forest being an extended metaphor for Snatcher's mind and character. A symbol for Vanessa then litters his mind, enough where it's certainly noticeable at first but blends in more easily once more of Subcon is unlocked to Hat Kid. This is clearly meant to be his lingering trauma, whether or not he wants to acknowledge it. Which he doesn't, as he never mentions it directly in his forest (that I can recall). Her influence plagues him, as to be expected with the traumatic experiences he went through with her. Breaking the ice is something Hat Kid must do in order to fulfill the wishes of the Fire Spirits (another subject I'll get into shortly), which, if self-indulgently playing with the found family idea, could mean that Hat Kid is helping him heal; if indirectly. Even if fulfilling the Fire Spirits' wish to die is... counterproductive, in that measure, which I'm now getting ahead of myself so hold on a sec!!
Vanessa. Ice. Everywhere. Traces of it all over his forest. That's the effects of an abusive relationship! Especially in a worst-case scenario where... yknow! One party in the relationship dies! So of course ice would be everywhere.
In and of itself, ice is a common symbol in literature and other forms of media. In this case, it's presented as an antagonistic force; emphasis is placed upon freezing and the harm that comes with it. The cold is unwelcoming, threatening, merciless. Snow can act as an insulating force, at least, but ice cannot. It can only make things colder.
A slight stretch: Seeing as this game deals a lot with time shenaniganry, I'm not sure if it'd be too out of left field to connect "freezing" with the theme of time. Yknow. Frozen in time. Both parties here, Snatcher and Vanessa, would be in this frozen state. One largely repressing it and never fully moving on, and the other doomed to her isolation ever since the event in question. They never moved past that moment after the Prince and florist's interaction.
The Fire Spirits (& the Portraits)
I'll put a slight warning here for suicidal ideation, if only because... it's the Fire Spirits we're talking about. It's not as grossly in-detail as the noose discussion will be, though, so make of that what you will.
To me, the Fire Spirits are a very interesting case. After all, they're fire. They're a direct contrast to the ice, thus being the only thing we're shown that could potentially melt it. The Fire Spirits, in my opinion, represent hope or a strength to continue. A strength to move on after troubles of the past.
...And that hope wants to die.
The Fire Spirits wish to burn out, to leave this mortal coil and abandon the forest to the cold. They make no effort to melt the ice, they simply dance, blissfully ignorant towards their surroundings. This being a metaphor for Snatcher's own hope for moving on is made all the more obvious by the fact he wants them gone. The first contract is to kill the Fire Spirits, to kill the hope. Perhaps he believes that sort of thing to be fruitless or naïve, so it only clutters his mind or has him foolishly optimistic at points. So, get rid of it. And the hope is happy to oblige.
(That, or their willingness to leave the forest to its own suffering and not aid in the ice's thaw angers him. Besides the whole "bark bark growl I can't get to parts of my forest because of them!!" which... also could represent a naïve hope clouding his judgement, not allowing him to see a bigger picture. But hope can't all be lost if one wants to move forward...)
A little side-tangent now on the portraits! And it's another slight stretch but the idea is in my head and I can't let it go. Portraits are another common symbol, usually being a physical representation of a memory or idea. For our purposes, let's say they're memories. I know in canon they appear to just hold souls captive or something but for now we're just Ignoring That(tm). The Fire Spirits have to burn the portraits to disappear. See where I'm going with this, maybe?
Instead of handling bad memories (or perhaps memories of the past in general) in any healthy manner, Snatcher chooses to forget/repress them, which just allows his hope to progressively die out.
I'm really hoping this is making sense because it makes a lot of sense to me but I might be insane rn
The Fact that this is a Forest
Forest symbolism breakdown! What's a forest usually mean in literature? "Traditionally, the forest has come to represent being lost, exploration and potential danger as well as mystery and 'other worldliness'." Okay. Yeah. Fair enough. That certainly works with the whole aesthetic we've got going on. Wood usually is life, growth and strength. But the trees of subcon are all dead. So what about that? It stands for death, big whoop, very spooky, we know Snatcher's dead and so are the children, yadda yadda wowie wowie. But. :) The trees in Subcon look a lot like trees that were scorched in a forest fire. Don't believe me?
(You could also argue they're just regular marsh/swamp trees bUT SSHHSUUHSH HANG ON HEAR ME OUT LOOK LOOK,)
What I believe to have happened was a controlled fire to rid the forest of the majority of its ice and snow. Likely done by Snatcher. It leaves behind a very desolate, depressing, barren scene... but. What else do dead/burnt trees symbolize? Rebirth. After all, controlled fires happen to make way for new trees to take the place of old ones. Some trees only drop seeds in fires/hot temperatures, so new ones take root and begin anew. Weird. It's almost like... I dunno. Snatcher was given some sorta second chance, given he's not just a corpse in Vanessa's cellar. So were the subconites. Another life given then by Snatcher. All connected I tell ya!!
Generally, aside from that, forests have many connotations. Mystery, isolation, claustrophobia; a place to dwell on regrets, or the past; to worry over one's future; to seek escape from or escape inside of... hmgmrnmm!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- T / W -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
The Nooses
The t/w is given at the top and another cut-off point will follow the bottom of this, for those that would like to skip. This will delve into talk of suicide and abusive tactics used by abusers. Please don't read if it will upset you or make you feel unsafe!!!
Personally, I cannot stand the nooses, but that's just due to my own triggers. Were there a way to hide those from the game or replace the damned talking ones with anything else. I would take it. In a heartbeat. But I can still appreciate the potential analysis to be had with them. So now i'm gonna talk about it despite how uncomfortable it will make me to do so. yEa
So, what about 'em? There are three types of nooses seen in Subcon. At least that I remember but I didn't really go looking for them. Empty ones, ones containing empty subconites, and the talking ones.
Nooses in general obviously can hint towards suicidal thoughts or behaviors of the characters that interact with them. If saying Subcon is Snatcher's mind, it could suggest that he suffered from some sort of suicidal thoughts in life (or currently, if second death is possible... or if he never truly died... or maybe he's trying to figure that out...which has given me... a separate idea...uh oh). But. And hear me out. Different perspective.
A talking noose. I hate them with a fiery passion that is unmatched. But think of the packed symbolism of a noose that talks. And think more about what it says. "I wouldn't mind being strapped around a cute neck like yours." "Be careful now, I don't want to see you meet a miserable end anywhere, but with me." Oddly, a lot of what the noose says seems almost... endearing? One could argue it's a way of luring someone to put it around their necks, which in and of itself is a whole lot to unpack when it comes to suicidal thoughts beckoning one forward; painting itself as something romantic, almost. But. Here's a wild idea, now. What if the nooses, at least the talking ones, are another symbol for Vanessa?
They're tinted blue, after all. While Vanessa's scheme is more red, one could argue two things: One, ice. Blue. Ice. yeah. Or two, the fact that Snatcher's scheme is more purple. Blue and red... make... purple. So, for all we know, Snatcher's current state was a compound effort between suicidal thoughts and Vanessa's treatment of him. Perhaps he even found a way to put himself out of his misery before freezing/starving to death. (I know he has dialogue that argues against that, but... are we certain Snatcher would be the kind to admit suicide over freezing to death?... I don't think so.)
At any rate, a common threat by those in "control" of an abusive relationship is that of killing themselves should the other person not do as they desire. It's a cruel form of emotional manipulation to get their way, worse off if the other party is an empathetic individual. As a person who has been the empathetic individual in relationships like this... I would know. I've been here, unfortunately So, it's not completely out of the question to say Vanessa could've used some tactic like that, even before the whole... cellar ordeal. Did she? I dunno. I'm tossing ideas around. But if she did, the threats of such would sit around in the Prince's mind easily. Even if she has a reputation of not going through with it. It doesn't matter. That shit sticks with you forever, that scare, the potential of it ever being true, is horrifying and it ruins you. I'm projecting, Squirtle.
Still. A noose cannot hang itself. It has to have a victim.
...yea.

Misc. Ideas
- The spiders: Aside from the usual things spiders can be chalked up to symbolizing - toxicity, alluring danger, just... general pain - I like the potential wordplay that can happen here. Yknow. A black widow. Say the Prince and Vanessa were married when one died. What would that leave Vanessa? A widow. ...She's red and black, too. Yknow. Like a black widow. HA wordplay is fun isn't it?
- Snatcher's tree: Love this place, love sitting in here. But not the point! The inside of Snatcher's tree is such a harsh juxtaposition to the rest of Subcon that it kinda throws ya off guard. After all, the dark, purples and blues then contrasted with the bright warm colors of the inside. Even the music switches over. The thorns outside aren't present indoors. Ohh yeah this is gonna be on the nose as hell but the Tree(tm) is 100% representing Snatcher's appearance/put-on personality vs. his truer nature. Spooky outside with thorns, foreboding, unwelcoming. Then the more comfortable interior. VULnerable. Have I even mentioned that the tree is HOLLOW I mean COME ON. The sturdiness of that tree? Nonexistent. He's not a sturdy guy at all no matter how he fronts
- Intrusions are unwelcome: Snatcher does not like the fact that Hat Kid sticks around in his forest. His personal space. His mind. In fact he tries desperately to get rid of her after their fight, not wanting her presence in his forest at all. He has no problem providing more contracts later on with the Death Wish thing, and he finds great entertainment in messing around with Hat Kid, so it's not just a weird sudden hatred he has for her; it's the fact that. After she's finished being useful, he no longer wants her around, lest she find some things she shouldn't find. Now he's just uncomfortable with her in his personal boundaries. Could just be a denial that she's helped him heal (breaking ice, stealing from Vanessa, being something interesting for his kids to interact with) or just not really wanting a child to get wrapped up in. All that. Most likely the former. Considering the amount of joke-hints he drops regarding his background during his Death Wish dialogue. I see you funny man, making jokes out of your trauma as a coping mechanism. Punts him
Annnd I think that's all I got, for now! I'll make an update post if I get any more sporadic ideas. If you read this whole thing, thank you!! and also!! Wow that was a lot!! Hell world. Please feel free to elaborate on any of my points or debate with me on em!! I'm always open to other ideas, just be aware that if I disagree I am not shy when it comes to debate hehehe, tho I won't be aggressive to any extent I prommy!!

Making Time
Mobius M Mobius x Reader
Part 3
My Masterlist • Series Masterlist
“Here we go.” You whisper, looking between Mobius and Loki, then up at Mount Vesuvius.
“Shh, any minute now.” Mobius adds.
“Until this entire town is wiped off the face of this planet. Imagine. All that volcanic ash-“ Loki starts.
“I know. We don't want to get too giddy.”
“Oh, come on! It's cool.”
“No, it is cool, but it's just not in good taste because...”
“They're all gonna die anyway.”
“I know. Now listen, I'm gonna watch the TemPad for any variance energy.” He says, pulling the device out from his pocket.
“Okay.”
“Okay, because we gotta be careful.”
“If you're wrong, and there's a good chance you are, anything we do can create a huge branch.”
“Oh, Mobius! You make even the end of the world sound boring.” Loki complains.
“Listen! Okay, we're not meant to be here.”
“And we don’t need Minutemen rushing here to arrest and delete us, okay?” You tell him. He nods,
“Okay.”
“Anything we do can impact the course of history. Do you get that?”
“Yes. Yes.”
“So we're gonna start with very small disturbances. Very small. Can you make bird noises?” You both frown at Mobius.
“Bird noises?”
“Yeah. Bird noises. Like some, like whooshing noises?” He begins to imitate a bird call. You roll your eyes,
“Moby? I was on the side of caution. But we’re going to need more than that.” Mobius continues his bird impressions to the disdain of Loki who groans and runs off.
“Loki!” You hiss. He doesn’t go far, standing on a nearby cart and proclaiming to the people of Pompeii that they are all going to die. On a positive note you’ve come up with a new scale to rate nexus events: starting with bird noises and ending with prophesying the future. Loki then decides to release a hoard of goats. Fantastic. Loki halts his Latin monologue to look over at you and Mobius for a fact check,
“We are from the future, right? What is the TVA? I mean, it's from the future. It sounds from the future. It's pretty futurey.” You’re about to answer him when you realise you don’t actually know. You’d always assumed the TVA just existed outside of time. Though you’re not sure how that would work. You’re about to ask Mobius when the volcano erupts. Loki then proceeds to have what looks like an existential crisis. “Nothing matters! Nothing has any consequence! Dance while you still can!” You lean over Mobius’s shoulder.
“How’s it going?” You ask, nodding towards his TemPad.
“I don't believe it. Zero variance energy. No branching in the timeline.” He tells you. Overhearing what Mobius says, Loki approaches you,
“The TVA would never even know we were here. If it were me, this is where I would hide.” A colossal cloud of ash rolls down the hillside, quickly approaching the three of you.
“Erm, Loki, bud?” You say, concerned that he hasn’t noticed. You point over his shoulder, “You got a little something-“
On your return to the TVA, the three of you head to the archives, searching for all naturally occurring disasters. Turns out there’s a lot of them. Mobius hands you a pile of events from before you existed, which you appreciated. Whilst you were curious about what happened to the world after you left it, you’re not too eager to see the long list of apocalypses. After what feels like hours of searching the three of you decide to take a break.
You and Loki are sat in one of the TVA cafeterias, waiting for Mobius to return with some food. Two hunters pass by your table, and you keep your gaze on the papers in front of you.
“Why do they look at us like that?” Loki asks suddenly. You look up at him.
“Like what?”
“Don’t act like you haven’t noticed. You and Mobius don’t get the looks that you and I get.” He observes. You sigh,
“That’s because when it’s me and you, they see two Variants possibly plotting to overthrow the TVA.” That shocks Loki.
“You’re a Variant.” He states, and you nod,
“I was set to be deleted, until Mobius stepped in and saved me.”
“You must be very grateful to him.”
“I am.”
“So you believe in the all powerful lizards which dictate the existence of trillions of people?” You smirk, looking down at the papers in your hand.
“I didn’t say that.” You glance up at him, recognising the look on his face immediately. He was scheming. “Look Loki, I may not be a hundred percent loyal to the TVA, but I am to Mobius.”
“Mobius, who is a part of the TVA, who you don’t fully trust. How can you know he has your best interests at heart?”
“I don’t. I’m just hoping, that he does.” Mobius soon joins the two of you. After a brief discussion about jet skis the conversation quickly turns far too philosophical for your poor ‘I’ve just read about a million case files’ brain.
“I don't get hung up on believe or not believe. I just accept what is.” Mobius says with a sigh. Loki looks at him incredulously.
“Three magic space lizards?” Mobius nods,
“Time-Keepers.”
“Created the TVA, and everyone in it?” Mobius nods again. “Including you?”
“Including me.”
“But not me.” You add. Loki laughs softly,
“Every time I start to admire your intelligence, you say something like that.”
“Okay, who created you, Loki?” Mobius asks.
“A Frost Giant of Jo
“And who raised you?”
Odin of Asgard.
Odin, God of the Heavens. Asgard, mystical realm, beyond the stars. Frost Giants. Listen to yourself...
It's not the same. It's completely different. No. It's not the same.
It's exactly the same thing. Because if you think too hard about where any of us came from, who we truly are, it sounds kinda ridiculous. Existence is chaos. Nothing makes any sense, so we try to make some sense of it. And I'm just lucky that the chaos I emerged into gave me all this... My own glorious purpose. Cause the TVA is my life. And it's real because I believe it's real. “Fair enough. You believe it's real.”
“Yeah.”
“So everything is written. Past, present, future. There's no such thing as free will.”
“Well, I mean, you know, it's an oversimplification...”
“But practically, yes.” You say, not wanting to hear the in-depth workings of the timeline.
“So, in fact, in a way, us three here at the TVA, we're the only ones who are actually free.”
“Where are you going with this, Loki?”
“How does it all end?”
“That's a work in progress.”
“Those lazy Time-Keepers. What are they waiting for?”
“Au contraire. Because while we protect what came before, they're toiling away in their chamber, untangling the epilogue from its infinite branches.”
“So when they're finished, what happens then?”
“So are we. No more nexus events. Just order. And we meet in peace at the end of time. Nice, right?”
“Do we get to live in peace or do we just disappear because we aren’t needed anymore?” You ask, suddenly concerned that he mentioned the end of time. Loki continues his own questions,
“Only order?” Mobius hums in response. “No chaos? It sounds boring.”
“I'm sure it does to you.” Loki suddenly changes the subject,
“You called me a scared little boy.”
“I called you a lotta things.”
“You did. You're wrong, though. You see, I know something children don't.”
“What's that?”
“That no one bad is ever truly bad. And no one good is ever truly good.” Well that was deep. Mobius looks down at the table in front of him.
“Scared little boy.” He repeats.
“Yes, it was quite patronizing. I thought it was a bit too far, actually.” Loki admits. Mobius looks up, an idea dawning on his face.
“You're very clever.” He tells Loki as he stands up.
“I know.” Loki makes a ‘well obviously’ face as you stand and follow Mobius as he makes his way to the archive.
“The Variant left something behind at an old crime scene. A cathedral. A candy box. An obvious anachronism. I gave it to Analysis, but they couldn't find anything real.”
“Why does that matter?” Loki asks. Mobius unlocks a box on a nearby shelf, before opening it up.
“Cause now we have two variables. Apocalyptic natural disasters and... Kablooie.” He pulls out the candy box.
“What's that?”
“Candy. Do you have candy on Asgard?”
“Yeah. Grapes, nuts.”
“No wonder you're so bitter.”
“There’s a massive vending machine near Renslayer’s office. One time, I’ll buy you one of everything.” You tell Loki as the two of you sit down at your desk. Mobius returns with a huge stack of files.
“Okay. Kablooie was only sold regionally on Earth from 2047 to 2051. All ya gotta do is cross-reference that with every apocalyptic event.” The three of you sit, sorting through the files for sometime. Mobius looks up at you,
“Anything?”
“Well, it's not the climate disaster of 2048.” You tell him, flicking the page over.
“Or the tsunami of 2051.” Loki adds.
“Let's go. Let's go. Come on.”
“2050. The extinction of the swallow. Is that a thing?”
“We killed off the swallows?” You stare at Loki. “How the hell did that happen?” Mobius shrugs,
“Completely screwed up the ecosystem.”
“Krakatoa erupted in 2049 as well. No Kablooie.”
“God, it's just one damn thing after another, isn't it? Cyclone, famine, volcanoes, floods...” Mobius lists, and you can’t help but agree.
“Got him. That's where he is.” Loki pulls open a case file before offering it to you and Mobius. The two of you peer at the papers inside.
“Alabama, 2050.” You read aloud. Loki looks at you both, seeming rather pleased with himself. Mobius grins,
“You're gonna take my job if I'm not careful.”

B2:S - Chapter 3
Much of this series will be about the differences and additions in the novel version, and how they contribute to my understanding of story canon. But there will be character appreciation, the odd theory and headcanon, and suchlike as well.
Here be Lujanne, Callum, Rayla, Ezran, Bait, and Soren goodness!
Spoilers for Book Two: Sky below.
Lujanne having excellent fitness for all her walking around the Moon Nexus, and she's so energetic that Callum has trouble keeping up with her! She seems like those active grandmas who almost never stop moving, who have a lifelong supply of endless stamina. It makes me wonder if Lujanne will need that level of fitness for some upcoming conflict.
Callum feeling really hungry over not eating grubs and then still deciding he'd rather be hungry. It makes me wonder all over again how Lujanne got to the point where she eats grubs, considering that other Moonshadow elves we know of back in the Silvergrove don't. I still love my hc that the giant leech ate all of Lujanne's moonberry bushes and she's taking her revenge. Whatever's going on there, Callum is definitely not at that point yet.
When Lujanne asks Callum how he knows she's real, he thinks to himself that he'd put up with just about anything from someone who was going to teach him magic. That's a great parallel and foreshadowing for Viren's student/master relationship with Aaravos! And it's telling that neither student gets exactly what they hoped to get. Lujanne doesn't actively teach Callum any spells, because she believes he can't learn Moon magic at all. Aaravos does offer Viren power, but it takes him to some very dark places - literally and figuratively - and the cost is terribly high.
Callum sees a moon shape among the ruins, and Lujanne explains that the Moonhenge layout is an intricate rune that uses the structures themselves as part of its symbols and power. That's apparently a thing even with ordinary Moonshadow villages like Hollow Wood in the east, which is the coolest idea I've seen in a while: city planning as magic runes!
Yes, that's the same shape as the pendants Ethari made for himself and Runaan. Protection? Home? Feelsiness? A sense of safety and belongnig for all cycles and seasons?
Wonder what this Moonhenge rune stands for, then, and how much of this landscape is included in that rune. I bet it's more than we think!
But it makes sense now, how toppling the stone pillars would disable the spell the druids would cast to connect with the Moon Nexus lake. Breaking the infrastructure of the Moonhenge breaks the rune.
There's a physical sensation involved with the visuals that Historia Viventem brings up! When that one ghostly druid walked through Callum, he felt icy cold. Like in ghost stories. I really wonder about what exactly Historia Viventem is doing when it activates. It shows truth, "what really happened here?", so it must have some kind of time-related element, maybe tied to how the moon always repeats the same cycles or something. But it also seems to draw on the spirits of any living people involved in the flashback, because Callum could physically feel that wispy shape passing through him. So very interesting!
Orrr... is that all wrong, and there's something else at work with this spell than time? Maybe the world beyond life and death can act as an imprint of the things that have happened in the living world, and the spell that Lujanne (and later Callum) casts taps into that place, with perfect recall. I'm looking really hard at the sentence that says "dozens of translucent elf ghosts" and "phantom Moonhenge" and "lost in their own world" here.
Lujanne says more here than in the show about the world beyond life and death, being her mysterious Moonshadow-mage self. She says that "beyond" and "between" might both apply to where this other plane of existence is, and she doesn't much care which. With all the relativity swirling around this place, and not much in the way of empiricism, it's sounding like perhaps multiple conflicting ideas might actually coexist in such a place, allowing more ideas to fit there than we might normally believe is possible. Which is a fascinating bit of worldbuilding. Basically, every headcanon anyone has ever had about the Moon Nexus could all be true at the same time, for all we know.
Oh oh oh, Callum coming in soft with a secret wish! He takes one look at the Moonhenge and immediately thinks of finding a way to see his mom again! Poor boy, my heart! I'd say that could be another interesting parallel with Viren, but then, who wouldn't hold that sentiment?
Oh my, is this another breath of life into Ye Olde Ley Lines headcanon? Lujanne mentioning the Nexuses again, so soon after talking about the runic design of the entire Moonhenge, makes me wonder if the six nexuses are in fact giant runes. On Earth, the places where ley lines cross are called nexuses, and there are those who believe those points got marked with ancient structures, like Stonehenge and many many others. If Xadia were crossed with magical lines which naturally formed nexus points where they met, and if powerful magical runes were built across those entire areas, well. That would be cool beans, fams. Can I smack a map of Xadia and release a spell like Luz Noceda does? Because ngl that is my first instinct here.
Lujanne has got to be missing some grandkids to spoil, right? The way she's always whipping out cake and ice cream for Callum, and she's so grandma-ish about it. Headcanon about her being Runaan's mom aside, she is canonically lonely and she's very sweet to Allen and Ellis and I think she's missing whatever family she once had in the past. She may never get to have that family back, so she's finding a new one among the humans who live nearby, and I think that's sweet. Found family isn't just for the young.
But Ellis is straight up gonna be her fave, I bet, because she didn't turn up her nose at Lujanne's illusion food!
Ezran and Bait have a lot more to their relationship than was visible in the show, and I'm so excited by it! Ez can tell by looking at Bait's colors that he's not truly jealous of Zym, even if he's really grumpy about the dragonling taking up his favorite human's time.
And Ez thinking a lot about his dad and the things he's taught him. They're soft leadership material, and I love that so much! "Pick your battles" and the importance of encouragement. Ahh, my heart. Ezran, you're going to be such a good king.
But wait a second: both times that Bait gets extra grumpy in Zym's first training session, Ezran has just mentioned something about flying. Guys, I think Bait wishes he could fly, really badly. And that's his biggest problem with Zym, and with Ezran teaching Zym to fly, instead of Bait who doesn't have wings so. Bait is so old that his secrets have secrets, and I'm really curious how flying fits into them now!
Rayla, Dramatic Assassin: "I need to patrol for dark forces." That's what Lujanne called the source of the purple wisps that found them. I wonder if that's an official term all Moonshadows know, or if Rayla is just taking her cue from a veteran Moon mage. And I wonder how far Rayla is falling into the apparent pattern of "one mage, one assassin", since she does spend a lot of her time patrolling without being asked.
When Callum tells Lujanne that he was bad at prince stuff, and she asks if he didn't give up and got good at those things anyway, it's an opportunity for Callum to embrace subverting his parents' expectations in favor of seeking his own path, which is a primary theme of the show. But Lujanne is a couple generations older than Callum, at the very least, and I have to wonder what her upbringing was like. Is her version of success the one she took? Was she bad at magic once too, but she persisted? She is very soft and doesn't want to kill anyone.
Maybe Lujanne had dreams of doing something else with her life, but she felt she had to pursue the destiny that others handed to her, so she studied magic as hard as she could, and she did get good at it, but using it to defend Xadia from humans is not what she wanted to do with her life. Whether there's a parallel between her and Ethari on that point, there's one between Callum and Ethari, I think. How much of your life are you willing to let others direct for you?
LISTEN I WAS DYING AT THE EAR BREAD SCENE OKAY
This is my new favorite Soren and Claudia moment ever. Soren loves him his bread, okay. Even as earplugs for Claudia's sleep ocarina tune. The fact that it's "super effective" makes me think of a Pokemon defense. The fact that he learned it at camp, where he also learned about Moonshadow Madness, is hilarious. Later on, Corvus doesn't know Soren by name, but I still love the idea of Corvus being a kind of Strider-esque camp instructor, filling the ears of his young charges with all kinds of useful tactics like ear bread for magic spell songs (which actually seemed to work as intended), and warnings about the enemy elves' blood-themed tactics (which may or may not come back around in BH)
I thought they were gonna go in a kind of deep direction when Soren still wanted his ear bread back, but then he just. Eats them. Just noms them. I love this kid. Give Soren all the bread!

Hi! I'm real ignorant so if this is a dumb question feel free to ignore this. But I just found out that the Catholic Bible has 7 more books than the Protestant one? (I was raised Methodist so this was a big shock to me) And I was just wondering what those 7 books are? Where they are and what they're about and stuff. Thanks!
Well, yeah. There are seven more books, and the reasons behind why this is is complicated from a theology/archeology perspective, but simple from a historical perspective (Martin Luther revived fourth century discourse). In addition, Daniel and Esther are longer in the Catholic Bible compared to the Protestant Bible. I'm gonna run through each book with a little bit of what it is.
Tobit: the first of the novellas. Our main man, Tobit, is a holy man who undergoes many trials at the beginning, culminating in him being blinded. After this, his son, Tobias, gets sent off to retrieve some money from Media that Tobit remembered. Hes accompanied by the archangel Raphel, in disguise as a man. Meanwhile in Media, a young woman, Sarah, has just had her seventh would be husband die on her. She has a demon thing going on, where the demon will kill anyone who tries to marry her. Tobit and Raphael, after some fishing shenanigans in which various fish parts are acquired, arrive on the scene. Raphel, literal wingman, tells Tobias "Dude, you could totally marry Sarah, who is totally awesome. I'm gonna set you up and everything!" And Tobias says "Dude, the demon thing already killed seven men. I would prefer not to" Raphel: "She will please your dad. You can use some of the fish guts to drive away the demon by burning them, since they're rank. Then pray to God. You got this." Fish guts are burned, prayer is offered to God, and the happy couple is finally wed. Meanwhile, Sarah's dad got the rest of the household to dig a grave for Tobias, so that's quickly filled in. Then Sarah, Tobias, and Raphel go home, the remaining fish guts are used to restore Tobit's sight, Raphel gives some advice and then reveals himself to be an angel, and leaves. Tobit is happy and dies in peace. Tobias dies of old age in the epilogue. This story is referenced in the Gospels, when the Sadduces approach Jesus and ask him about a woman who has been married seven times, and all her husbands died.
Judith: another one of the novellas, our main hero is Judith, a Jewish widow. At the beginning theres a long war campaign sum up, which basically amounts to Holofernes is the toughest dude around. He eventually wages war against Israel. The end result is the Israelites are surrounded. The Israelites are surrounded, and Judith says "1. God will deliver us, 2. Let me and my maid go through the city, and God will deliver Israel through me" Judith prays, heads out, and manages to get an audience with Holofernes (she is a very pretty lady). She talks with Holofernes, and in her monologue uses a lot of wriggly ambiguous language, so Holofernes thinks she is talking about Nebecennezzer when she is talking about God. Holofernes is pleased by this, so he invites Judith to dinner. Judith then beheads Holofernes, and takes his head and goes back home. Judith shows his head, comes up with a good battle plan, the enemies are destroyed, and the Israelites celebrate.
1 Macabees: an independent account of the attempted suppression of Judaism in the second century BC (175-134 BC). The main character is Judas, son of Mattias, head of the revolution. It is classified as a novella.
2 Macabees: Covers the same rebellion, from 180-161 BC. Much like the Gospels tell the same story different ways, 1 and 2 Macabees tell the same historical events from different perspectives. It is also classified as a novella.
Wisdom: written in 50 BC, it's a poetic exhortation to live a holy life. Its classified as a book of Wisdom/poetry. Some of the language in Wisdom is echoed in the New Testament. Wisdom 2:24 "but by the envy of the devil, death entered the world, and they who are allied with him experience it" mirrors Paul's "sin entered the world, and death through sin"
Ben Sira: another book of wisdom, Ben Sira is another exhortation to live a holy life. Most of the book is moral instruction, but the last bit is about the heroes of Israel, gratitude to God, and an invitation for the unschooled to find true wisdom.
Baruch: a book of prophecy, its addressed to King Jechoniah (in Babylon). It can be divided into four parts: 1. The Letter to Jerusalem, filling in on the history, and guilt/deliverance, 2. Praise of Wisdom, 3. Baruch's poem of consolation, 4. Letter of Jeremiah, which is "don't worship Babylonian gods". John Calvin thought that Baruch should be in the Protestant Bible instead of Esther
And, since I think it's important since the books differ:
Esther: first off, its classified as a novella. It's an entirely different read in the Catholic bible, beginning with Mordecai's dream and an assasination attempt on the king. Then the banquet and deposition of Vashti. From there it follows roughly the same plot, but also contains prayers of Mordecai and Esther, official documents, etc. God is mentioned a lot in the Catholic version compared to the Protestant version.
Daniel: Chapter 3 has an awesome prayer in it, spanning from verse 24 to verse 90. It is very long, and a good read if you have the time. Daniel 13 and 14 have two short stories in them to cap off the book. The first is of Susana, who had two elders attempt to assault her. In retaliation, the elders falsely accuse Susanna of trying to seduce them. Susanna asks God to intervene, and a boy Daniel reveals the lie. The two elders are then killed. The second one is Bel and the Dragon, wherein one Daniel calls out the king for worshipping Bel, a false idol. The king says "no, he clearly eats and drinks the sacrifices I lay out for him" Daniel says "you're wrong" and the king says "prove it, or you'll die." So the king offered his sacrifices, and Daniel had ashes spread across the room, before it was sealed. Turns out, the priests of Bel would sneak into the chamber through a secret entrance and eat everything, which was proved by the footprints left by the ashes. The priests revealed this, and then they were killed. Then there was a dragon the Babylonians worshipped, and Daniel killed with some pitch, fat, and hair cakes (after getting permission from the king). From here Daniel gets thrown into the lion's den, Habbakkuk brings him a meal, and Daniel is brought out alive. The people who tried to kill him are then thrown into the lion's den.

Fazbear Frights 1-9 review.
Into The Pit:
Slow and meandering during the first half but picks up speed after Spring Bonnie shows up. Good message and good idea, but the execution could be better. 6/10
To Be Beautiful:
This story is so full of fluff, you can cut out like 60% of it and lose nothing. I know it's going for a fairy tale thing with the repetition and all, but fairy tales do that because it's made for children. Repetition is to train a child's brain to remember better. These books are aimed at teenagers, so this narrative device is not needed. On top of that, it has unfortunate implications of "Not like other girls" memes that we don't need to revisit. Only saved by its creepy af ending. 3/10
Count The Ways:
Legitimately my favorite story out of FNAF and one of my favorites of all time. It fixed the previous story's Not Like Other Girls problems by having the goth main character hate the pretty blonde and being called out for not even knowing her and being shallow. It is actually surprising to have these two stories be back to back.
The narrative device of switching back and forth between the MC facing her death and how she got up to that point means it keeps your interest throughout that the previous two stories had problems with. It makes for great drama and tension.
The main reason I love this story in particular is because of this exchange near the end:
“Silly Millie, for someone who doesn’t want to die you sure spent a lot of time talking about it,” the voice surrounding her said. “But that’s the way of things, isn’t it? Talk is always easier than action.”
“I think,” Millie said, sniffling, “that when I said I wanted to die, what I really wanted was to escape. I didn’t want death. I just wanted my life to be different.”
“Oh, but that really takes action, doesn’t it?”
And, if I can be real for a minute: I feel like that kinda changed my life. Or very least, my point of view.
As someone who has made attempts on his life before and frequently battles depression- It made my problems so much less overwhelming. Of course I didn't want to die. I wanted my life my life to improve. And now whenever the thought of suicide passes through my head, I just remember this phrase and it helps me keep it together and calm down.
And also F.Freddy's follow up with having to work for happiness is spot on too. Misery is comfortable, that's why so many people prefer it. Happiness takes effort. 10/10
Fetch:
I'm in the minority for not caring for this one. I felt like there wasn't any direction or character arc, I didn't find Fetch particularly scary or interesting, and the MC makes a lot of dumb decisions in it.
That being said, I love how it jumps right into the action instead of taking awhile to get to it like the other stories did. The stories tend to play out like a different book and then FNAF characters are slapped in at the end. This one gets right to it and makes it integral to its plot. 6/10
Lonely Freddy:
Another one I really love. The Frights series has a good traction with its tragedies and this one is no exception. I really connected with the feeling of being pitted against your siblings, usually by accident and circumstance with your parents. Particularly this line:
“Maybe you’ve made them what they are,” Aunt Gigi said, pausing for a moment before adding: “Hazel’s the easy one. Alec is the hard one. It’s like you put them on their own little islands.”
I wasn't Alec, but Hazel in this situation. And it made me realize what my sibling went through because of it.
And this is another story where Freddy's is more integral to the plot too, and one of the few times it's not already abandoned.
I really like how well done Alec's back and forth he had with himself whether to befriend his sister or not. It's a believable character arc when he realizes his mistake at the end unlike another story that we'll get to.
And the fact they made a God damn teddy bear legitimately creepy is a mastery of horror writing that I can only ever hope to strive for. Definitely the scariest in Frights 2. 9/10
Out Of Stock:
I agree with Dawko that this one feels best to make a 30 minute special out of. It feels like a Halloween special or creepypasta you would watch/read as a preteen. Old enough to want to explore more mature stuff, but young enough to still have more cartoony stuff be familiar. And I mean that as 100% a positive.
I also like how this one is a bit more comedy based. Like the scene where the MC gets thrown across the room after electrocuting himself and his friends dont even notice. I can picture that bit so clearly.
The climax is the best part of having a dire game of Red Light, Green Light with the Plushtrap Chaser. It's very energized and exciting that the other stories don't have as often because the subject matter doesn't lend itself to it.
The trend in these stories of kids learning to appreciate their parents, and they're parents realizing they have to sacrifice some stuff to make their child happy is very sweet. And it's no different here. 8/10
1:35 AM
What I like about this series is that you never know where its gonna go from story to story. I though for certain this story was about how the doll was gonna have an evil spirit possessing it.
But no, what actually happened is that it's never made clear if the MC is losing her mind, being haunted, or just seeing stuff because she's sleep deprived. That ambiguity makes the book a lot creepier and sadder because you don't know how this poor woman should be helped. And it ends without any clarification. That's great and a perfect idea for horror story.
That being said, Scott's writing quirks (and it's definitely Scott doing it, I can tell) of front loading info, constantly stopping the flow to have backstory and over explaining things that don't need makes it frustrating to read after several books of it. And we're not done with that either. 9/10
Room For One More:
I skipped over all the dream sequences because it adds nothing to the story. Its great you remember Sister Location, but it feels like you don't trust your audience to read a FNAF story if there isn't animatronics every couple pages. And honestly? Understandable.
I do know based on my own FNAF comic, pages featuring humans is a lot less popular than the ones featuring animatronics. And I get it, you're a bunch of furries it's more interesting to visualize. And you can go in the opposite direction and have very little FNAF stuff when they're needs to be more. The New Kid doesn't even bring it up til the last third.
But I digress. The strongest qualities in Room For One More is three points.
The location is very vividly described. The underground security office with steel walls, the radiation disposals, the musky scent. It paints a clear and unique picture.
The main character's fallen arc of self care and distrust of others is a well done cautionary tale. It goes hand in hand with the speech before of having to work for happiness, and the difficulties there are from even trying. But you still need to do it.
The body horror is not as visually disgusting as it could've been, and more conceptually horrifying. But if you have a fear of bugs in your skin or crawling in your mouth, prepare for something so much worse! And no, that's not a spoiler, it's pretty obvious where its going from the beginning. 7/10
The New Kid:
This one was disappointing. This is not the way to do a tragedy, because I don't care about the MC.
Throughout the entire story, the main character has literal sociopath tendencies. He is controlling of other people, he doesn't have any empathy, he sees other people as tools to use, he kills a bird and doesn't care- So at the end when he accidentally kills someone, I don't believe him feeling bad about it. And I sure as shit don't care about his death after him leaving his victim to die, while he was still breathing, and not coming back for a week.
Also the twist at the end makes no God damn sense and I'm not even gonna dignify it.
A better tragedy would've been his friend, Mick, getting into trouble for the murder after refusing to ever stand up to the MC. Or even the MC being betrayed by him last minute for him to learn how his shit behavior really screwed him over. But the end result ended up being an unsatisfying mess. 2/10
I'll review the 4th's books with 5 and 6, since I'm sticking with a three at a time theme and because I haven't read 4 yet.

(Same anon!) I have to agree with you GI really sucked for characters, which is such a shame because it had a lot of potential? Like, they're at war, that's a HUGE thing with so much potential for exploration and impact and they just didn't. Fabia could've been a really good character if we had literally any time to grow attached to her/see her personality IMO
I’m going to ramble a bit, but just know I’m a lil passionate about missed potential in general. Anyway;
The one bit I remember not liking at all is the sleeper agents pretending to be neathian; the humans will remember this, so when they see them again, assuming they joined the gundalian’s side, then wouldn’t they feel tricked??
I’d fix this by using gundalian actors who are also good brawlers, but are otherwise generic looking. That would be harder to notice as trickery, because they blend in with the background characters in true gundalian form. Hell, the trickery is Zenet’s entire reason to be able to shapeshift into other people! But she only used it to mimic Julie... Great usage, guys.
Speaking of abilities that gundalians have, I always found the fact that they only mind controlled Jake, out of all the main humans, to be weird (I’m ignoring that he broke himself free of it, but that’s for a specific reason I’ll get to soon.)
Dan? Nope.
Marucho? Potentially happened from Ren, but we’ve never seen him use mind control (if he even can! Kazarina’s the only known gundalian who can mind control), so that can be ignored.
Shun? The one with the most impact if mind controlled (ninja assassin under mind control)? N o p e.
Kazarina using Jake as bait, and not the one doing the laser firing, would’ve been much better honestly, and seeing her try to get a mind controlled Shun to kill off Dan would punch us all in the gut; best friends, but one is about to kill the other because he’s under mind control, and its all to make a war easier to win, but not a guaranteed victory. If there was ever a “war is genuinely horrible” thing to be done in Bakugan, I’d nominate that kind of scene, with those two in specific. Also it makes Kazarina an infinitely more detestable villain, so her demise is much more celebrated by the viewer.
Dan doesn’t die because it takes Jake three episodes of hesitation, and Kazarina three episodes of saying “imma do it!!” to even Press The Button, and that doesn’t even happen because Jake snaps out of it in time. Pacing, guys; come on...
Moving onto another gundalian ability; Lack of exploration may, or may not be, why it is exactly why, but also it makes her scarier Aelia is a scientist who amplified her own electrokinesis through experimentation, to the point of being able to float!!
Their electrokinesis has so much potential, but it’s only used in canon to maybe threaten others, but definitely to... Summon battle gear. Disappointing is accurate, because there’s so much unexplored territory there.
Overloading batteries? Transferring power from one device to another? Powering devices in their hands?? They could do these things, but they don’t.
Neathians are underwhelming too, but to the extent of vestals; there’s barely any differences between humans, neathians and vestals that aren’t aesthetic differences. Shapeshifting in neathians is the only bit I know is different, but they look human exactly when they shift shape. That’s disappointing as hell! The only one that looked interesting in this regard was Sellon, who wasn’t even an actual neathian.
Back to characters... I genuinely didn’t like Jake as much as I feel like the show wanted me to like him. He reminded me too much of Baron for me to enjoy his character; big, buff, strong dumbass, who idolises Dan as his teacher. Yes, he’s new to bakugan, and barely knows how it works when the gundalians start invading on full scale, but the whole Dan is the teacher dynamic can be done without this. Hell, he asks Julie for advice! Once. Only once. Jake, has it occurred to you that Dan has no idea what he has to tell you because you use different attributes?!
Is it weird to call it mild nostalgia pandering? These two seasons (NV and GI) were a year apart in being aired, but...
Not gonna lie, I have the same issue with Aqwimos; he reminds me so much of a mix of Preyas’ and Elfin’s personalities, that he and Trister (the bakugan Marucho has immediately afterwards, and who has the exact same personality) blend into each other.
Don’t get me started on the whole “every darkus bakugan Drago comes across proclaims themselves his rival” spiel. Reaper, Hydranoid, Naga (technically), Percival, Helios (technically), Linehalt, Dharak... I’m stopping at GI for the list, but you get the point.
TlDr;
Two races of aliens were wasted potential.
Punching people in their emotional guts would work better using Shun instead of Jake.
One of my ocs is designed partially to explore the wasted potential in gundalians.
Darkus bakugan need to Chill.
Jake needs a teacher who actually knows how to use subterra.
They attempted nostalgia pandering in the shortest time span possible, and it seemingly worked (?)
#Bakugan#bakugan gundalian invaders#Not tagging characters this time around#I forgot to add in the fact that gundalians and neathians live alongside bakugan#which I did explore with Kaliko and her Gren vs. Raid Captain Coali#but eh this post is long enough#Ask the Tsuri#that was a lot of rambling I'm so sorry!!#Whoops misspell Kalico

Please tell me more about Caspian because I love hearing about him and his wife 🥺
OH MAN.... hm... he's a lil complicated since he's an OC based on a world that isnt mine but i do love him very much-
So a quick summary of him (Im gonna put it under a readmore bc whenever I say quick it always turns out long-)
He was born in like, medieval times
His mother fell in love with a traveling merchant/jester and they met frequently, despite her father's attempts to separate them
He's not like. Super smart, bit of a himbo this one, although it makes him super self-conscious. He hates how dumb he is
He DOES however, take great pride in making people laugh even if it's at his own expense, something his grandfather loathed
His mother died when he was at a young age, so his grandfather and him moved to an entirely different kingdom to run away from the rumors of their family (btw his father disappeared someway along the line, so Caspian never knew him)
In this new kingdom, he meets the prince, Leo, and the prince's friend Penelope at a ball, (both of these characters are not mine! And belong to the lovely @noriaki-kak) and becomes quick friends (with some convincing from his grandfather)
He grows up with them and loves them very much and along the way he meets Giselle, his future-wife!
Giselle is super sweet, she's unfortunately a sickly girl, but she's incredibly mischievous, and quick-witted. She loves reading, and despite her weak stature, she gets up to whatever tricksy things she can, be it sneaking outside in the gardens, or just rummaging through whatever scriptures she can find.
Even though her father dotes on her he's kinda relieved she's constantly holed up in her room due to her sickly state bc otherwise she would definitely sour their family reputation by her unladylike manner
Caspian has had a bad reputation in his youth- rumors said he was a devilchild cuz he kept getting fevers when walking in a church, and that his mother contorted with a demon which is why he was never seen again
So Edmund (his grandfather) sees Giselle and is just "oh thank god we can finally get him married to someone"
Giselle and Caspian got along very well! She enjoyed talking to him because his ideas of the world are very simple, but bizarre
However when she sees that he puts his own pride on the line for the sake of people's joy and laughter, she gently reprimands him- "I like talking with you, Caspian. But you shouldn't hurt yourself just for my entertainment. Are you okay-?"
Caspian adores her. He thinks her quick-wit is incredible, and she always has a snappish response in line for if someone ever insults either of them
He thinks she’s one of the smartest people he's ever met, and Giselle knows that Caspian has the biggest heart in all the land
Giselle is, as I said, often confined to her room- some days she's strong enough to walk, but others she simply stays at home
Caspian is always bringing little trinkets to her, whether he made them or found them in the markets, she’s always thrilled to receive them
There's a scene in my head of the two of them in her room, and it’s raining outside, and Giselle laments in the fact that she quite misses the rain
Caspian suddenly picks her up bridal style, and takes her out to her balcony, and sways her as if dancing
Neither of them say anything, and it's very romantic until Giselle sneezes and Caspian realizes that its probably not the best idea to bring someone of her state out in the cold rain and Freaks Out
Edmund, in an attempt to kill those rumors that haunted them once and for all, proposes they wed, and Giselle's father agrees
Caspian tries to go through the rehearsals, but he continues getting feverish and fainting spells when entering the church
So, Giselle proposes they wed in the gardens ("I like the violets there anyway.")
Edmund takes what he can get and Caspian just is happy she's not dissuaded
They're wed! And they're so happy and they love each other terribly!
And not even a few months later, Giselle dies to illness
So very Orpheus and Eurydice
Caspian is bereft with grief. All along this timeline, things have been getting progressively worse around him- The prince has undergone a beastly curse, and Penelope has taken it upon herself to taking over the throne and ridding the kingdom of any demonic magics
And as Caspian grieves, his grandfather, in a fit of rage reveals to him that he truly IS a devil child. His father was a demon, and Edmund brought whatever holy protection he could upon their house to ward off the demon from ever returning
He was the one who poisoned Caspian's mother, so he could kill off the root of those rumors, and take Caspian away- his one chance of redeeming their family name and carrying it through time
"This is your fault, you DEVIL-CHILD! This is what your unholy blood gets you!" He screams at his grandson, and Caspian is horrified and in utter despair
He truly believes everything is his fault. And so in a moment of utter sorrow, he goes to the nearby church, to end his life. At least he would end this unholy existence on holy ground
BUT WHATS THIS!?! A MAN JUMPS IN RIGHT WHEN THE DAGGER SWINGS- ITS HIS FATHER?!?!
Caspian's father Beck saves him, and yadda yadda yadda, couldnt visit his son when he was younger bc of the holy protection, and when he got older it just became worse timing so he hoped his son would be okay
Even though the church is burning him, Beck still holds his son, who eventually passes out
And he smuggles him into Hell, away from the horrible crumbling world Caspian was in before.
Caspian wakes up in hell! Wowie! Whats the first thing we should do!?!
Lets try and sneak into Heaven so we can see our dead wife
And the holy powers of Heaven are so strong so lets super mega burnt
And lets do this Several Times bc we love our wife so much and are desperate to see her again
Beck cant handle this- not only is Caspian getting injured time and again to see Giselle, he’s also gonna get caught by higher authorities, and having a living person in Hell is not the best move on Beck’s part
So... consumed by desperate to keep his son and himself safe... he removes his memories of Giselle
Anyway thats like. As brief as i can make caspian’s story. Ba-baaaaaa!

Ok, so basically what I have problems with can be summed up as two things. 1) most of the characters were unlikable for me, which, like, for a good chunk of the movie, I know that's supposed to be the whole point. I know I'm supposed to dislike Harper's family, the parents pressure their kids, they're obsessed with looking perfect, her older sister is way too unnecessarily competitive with Harper and vice versa, the twins are creepy, Jane's "weird" (though, I liked her tbh), and everyone in that family sucks.
Including Harper herself.
Dont get me wrong, I sympathize with her, coming out is hard and scary and coming out to a family like That??? Definitely has to be even harder and scarier. But to invite your gf, Abby, to come home with you for the holidays and then reveal that, surprise, you never even came out to your family when you told her you did over the summer, when you've almost arrived at their house??? Wtf???? Why would you do something like that? Why would you hide something so important from your SO that you love and care for so much??
And then to proceed to pretty much ignore her pretty much the entire trip??? Like, I get it, I know you're trying to help your dad run for mayor, but again why invite someone so important to you to spend the holidays with you when you're literally not gonna spend any time with her??? And then to get jealous when Abby spends time with your ex gf cause that literally the only person that's paying any attention to her??? And then to take out all the frustration you have towards your family situation on your gf????? Then to basically guilt her into staying with you???
Harper, get your fucking act together, bro.
And then I also didnt like John. He's supposed to be the quirky best friend of Abby, but he just? Sucks??? And is creepy???? What's with him tracking people??? Its creepy when anyone does it, but to make the one gay guy in the movie do that?? In an lgbt positive movie, that just does not sit well with me. Also, he's supposed to be someone Abby trusted enough to take care of her pet sitting jobs while she was away and he just gets one of her client's pets killed, which is super irresponsible. And literally most of the scenes where they talk to each other, it just felt like he was bashing her for literally every decision she made. She wants to propose to her gf? "Oh why are you trying to lock your relationship in these heteronormative values??" Abby's having a hard time with this situation where she has to pretend to be straight roommates with Harper when she didnt know that would be the situation when she agreed to go home with Harper for the holidays??? "I told you not meeting your SO's parents for over a year is fishy, you've brought this on yourself, also, speaking of fish, I got the one I was supposed to watch for you killed."
I liked his speech about coming out at the end of the movie, I teared up and cried a little, but he gave me zero reason to believe that hes the type of character who would do or say any of that.
And that's something I felt with the ending of the movie, too. I get it, it's a Christmas movie, its gotta have a happy ending, but. It didnt earn the happy ending. The family just automatically accepting Harper's sexuality, when they showed zero evidence of having any real unconditional love and were obsessed with the idea of perfection. Her parents wouldnt have reacted the way they did. Or at least, they didnt show us in the movie that they would. Especially with the way Harper was outed. In the middle of a meticulously planned Christmas party used to promote her dad's campaign, that was ruined by her sister and her fighting and her being outed by her sister.
2) for a rom-com, for a movie listed as a comedy on hulu itself, I didnt find it very funny. And, once again, I get it, people have different senses of humor, perhaps this one's humor just didnt vibe with me. But, imma tell you how I felt during the movie, anyway. To me, I didnt see many jokes, outside of the awkwardly forced ones. I was literally uncomfortable the entire movie. I think I laughed, like, twice total.
Now, I dont think the movie was bad. It just thought it was okay. And that disappointed me cause I wanted it to be good, you know? We dont have a lot of lgbt movies like this and I wanted it to be a movie I came back to every Christmas, but idk. I just didnt end up liking it. :/
So, like, am I really the only one disappointed by Happiest Season??? Only me??????
