wow, my housemate known for being an asshole is being an asshole again, who could have guessed

#i mean this instance was more just assholeish behavior and less this guy has actual anger issues that might be of concern to other people in #the house #so guess it could have been worse #but like why the fuck do you think that's an okay thing to just say to a person man #so for context (because you know what #yes i am going to give random people on tumblr my housemate drama)#i had just gotten back from the store and he was in the kitchen cooking something he looked at me and i nodded at him then went upstairs to #drop off my bags in my room before going back downstairs to put away the stuff that needed to go in the freezer as well as fill up my water #bottle and grab some food #and just before i'm about to go back upstairs he asks me 'why don't you talk'#and i don't fucking know how to respond to that so i just stand there for a second and he repeats himself and says 'why don't you talk when #you enter a room'#to which i say 'i don't feel the need to' because i've been put on the spot and don't have a better answer #and he replies with 'well that's kind of rude just thought you should know'#and at that point i just leave because i think he's done and also i don't want to talk to him about this because a) i don't actually care #what he thinks is rude and b) why or why i don't talk is none of his fucking buisness #but then as i'm going up the stairs #like fully out of the room at this point #i hear him say 'it's a pretty odd thing to do'#like idk fuck you man you have literally no say in what i do or how i act #you're just some guy who ended up in the same housing as me #and now that i've had a moment to actually think my answer would be because i'm autistic and talking to people i'm not familiar with is har #and also i don't like you #but i don't think i'm going to say either of those things for various reasons #anyway #j rambles

Was showing my irls ZXA cause I had shown ZX off before and it was already a trip-my tv fucking broke but that’s a different story-since I haven’t seen the cutscenes in FOREVER but I realized a detail I don’t know how I missed even if no one mentioned it:

There are multiple capsules in Greys room laying face up and the glass is broken, and given Pandora said Grey was going through the mind control sequence, this all but fully confirms the evil mega men we see using the guardian biometals are under mind control and awoke out of these capsules before Grey.

This is information I don’t know how to fucking process.

#this happened a few nights ago but I didn’t know how to say it but this concept came to me at 4am lmaooooo #anyways so yeah my roommate is studying at her desk and I’m scrolling on my phone in bed in my pjs #when I hear a bit of a commotion near our dorm and my first thought is ‘oh no they’re gonna come inside’ before telling myself:#a) that’s silly those boys wouldn’t do that and b) our door’s totally locked so it’s fine #but turns out I was wrong on both counts :/#cuz the next thing I knew two random dude are *in my room* and they had said smth (but I was too shocked to register anything except ‘??!!’)#(y’all I was in my pjs too I was sittin there without a bra 😭😭😭😭😭😭)#eventually tho my face went from being shocked to being furious and I gotta say I haven’t heard myself use such an angry tone in a long time #but I basically demanded ‘WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE’ and their faces quickly paled and they backtracked by saying ‘oops wrong dorm’#(likely story cuz mine and my roommates names are literally ON THE DOOR and that whole hall is FULLY LIT UP like how can you miss that???)#I talked with one of my friends about this (cuz I wanted to see what she thought and if maybe those guys really were mistaken)#but then she brought up that ^ point and yeah if I see em doing anything like that again I’ll prob report em to my ra or smth #but until then I guess my roommate and I will be making to sure keep our door properly locked 💀#🎶song sings🎶

an underrated funny bit from a christmas carol is when the ghost of christmas future is taking scrooge around to see everyone's reactions to the death of this unnamed guy (later revealed to be himself ofc), and it turns out that pretty much no one cares. scrooge, increasingly distressed, is like, "can you please show me someone who feels any emotion about this person dying?"

so the spirit takes him to the home of this family. the husband walks up to his wife like, "babe. youre never gonna believe this. that old asshole who we owed an insane of money to just died" and theyre both like YAAAAAAY THIS IS GREAT!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

this bit is like. darkly funny but also so poignant:

[...] and it was a happier house for this man's death! The only emotion that the Ghost could show him, caused by the event, was one of pleasure.

#which is parodied so well in starkid's vhs christmas carol with 'ok spirit funny joke. but that's not what i meant.'#and then scrooge gets more desperate like. ok. can you show me ANYONE who feels SAD about ANY death. please.#and then he finds out tiny tim is dead and its like ohhhh. ough. ooohhhhhh.#the thing is. its a rly good story just like. narratively #the existential horror is really effective i think. like it's not hugely scary to the reader but you fully believe that scrooge is terrifie #a funny part right before this bit is when the ghost takes scrooge to this dark room and points towards a sheet #under which is ostensibly the man's corpse #and scrooge is soooo scared and hes like 'ummm can we go....' and the ghost gestures a lil more insistently #and scrooge goes 'ok you see i really really would look under there. i wanna do this for you.'#'but i am simply not strong enough! soooo lets uhhh go ok <3'

#that post is interesting and i dont wanna rb bc i dont feel like i can get my points across in the tags and i dont wanna deal with ppl but #like i fully agree that healthcare workers deserve a billion percent more protections at work and better work conditions #but i dont like the insinuation that people just being petty because they think 'their bully is a nurse now so who cares'#like i literally went to a protest during covid that had to do partially with unfair treatment toward healthcare workers #and you know what happened? we had to leave barely an hour in because two unmasked nurses were mad my friend was disabled #and ive watched a nurse file a report on a 'threatening' patient #a disabld patient who couldnt get up and use the bathroom unassisted was asking for help. asking politely then louder then begging for help #i told the nurse and other employees in the waiting room. they said rhey didnt want to help them go to the bathroom because #it wasnt their job #i was injured and sick and unable to help. i asked them to please help her. they ignored me and made that woman wet and mess herself #in her chair in front of everyone in the waiting room. and when that patient yelled at them #crying and humiliated and upset and said she was going to report them and get them fired the nurse called security #saying she was goinf to kick her out if she was loud again #so like. idk! using the example of an older woman of color being beaten nearly to death by a white man #to try and claim that people are just being misogynists by criticizing health care workers #feels really weird!#that post also claims that most nurses are poc when the RN workforce is 80% white people #so it just feels very disingenuous and gross iwl

Me when I’m connecting the dots that Ultima Thule was akin to the crucification (person having to prove their resolve to the cause of saving the world through continual suffering and personal loss after personal loss) and that Ardbert’s voice being the guiding voice through Close In the Distance and how that’s essentially her being in conversation with herself due to him being a literal fragment of her soul and that Tavi is a character who’s conflict is inherently man vs self thus always setting her up for tragedy so in order to break the continual cycle of being at war with herself leading her down paths of self destruction she had to die and be reborn anew and only then would she be allowed to live for herself

#like am I asexual or do i just fear physical intimacy because of my assault #like I have desire I experience arousal #hell I fucking love smut #but whenever I’m with a girl #like going on dates recently and even with my exes #I haven’t actually felt physical attraction to them #and the couple of times I tried to ignore that and make out or have sex #I would freeze up and dissociate #or have a panic attack #or just physically feel nothing when being touched #it’s really confusing #because also the two times I’ve developed actual feelings for someone it’s only been after knowing them for 2+ years #and I’ve been physically attracted to those two people #so like okay I think the biggest most obvious issue here is that I have not been attracted to the people I’ve been intimate with #but I desire physical intimacy so I try to engage in it anyway #and then the ptsd enters the room and complicates things further #and this is why dating is so exhausting #because even people that say they want to take things slow don’t really fully get what I mean #but I also understand not wanting to continue getting to know someone that is not attracted to you when you went into this to #ostensibly form a relationship #what does annoy me is when they respond to my honesty about not being attracted with #‘I’d love to keep getting to know you as a friend’#and then never talk to me again #like come on please just be real with me #I desire intimacy but can’t mentally or physically do casual hookups #and at this point I think I might give up on dating because it’s actually so draining #I think the only way for me to meet a potential partner is to keep making new friends and see what happens #but I don’t have energy to do anything or go anywhere outside of work #so I guess I’ll just be a spinster with a diverse sex toy collection and a Zoloft prescription

It’s always so funny to me when someone can’t tell the difference between an actor who’s over the top and an actor who is doing an intentionally over the top performance. The former can be super aggravating, I get it—but the latter can be so goddamn effective. Especially when you know the actor already, know they’re fully capable of giving normal human facial expressions and chill line deliveries. And they’re out here doing The Absolute Most all of a sudden? It’s for a reason, dude. It’s almost always for a reason. And once you can see past the camp on the surface, it’s so much fun digging in to what emotions the character is actually hiding.

#this is mainly about servant (and to a lesser degree YJ)#like Ambrose in servant is (pardon me) serving SUCH a chaotic performance #but having known her for decades I know full well that’s on purpose #Dorothy is over the top because she HAS to be. because she’s built walls so high around her own grief that the denial comes out in Crazy #and she fully thinks she’s the only one paying attention. the only sane one in the room.#you get glimpses of her being ‘normal’ in flashbacks #still a little Much. still a product of wealth and expectation. detached from reality to a degree.#but the character she becomes after the tragedy is. A Character.#it’s not the woman she was before. she bricked that woman up. she’s taken her performance from television and made a baby blanket out of it #it’s so. so intentional.#and you sort of get a similar thing going with Hewson in early eps of YJ #totally different starting block. Van doesn’t start out traumatized. but she does start out Big #she’s loud she’s silly she’s being intentionally wacky to get laughs out of people #and some of it comes off a little cringe. because it’s a kid playing a role #this is how you like me. I’m gay. I’m butch. I’m hiding.#if I’m a jester you’ll see what I want you to and nothing more. that’s the plan. it’s working. don’t look at the goalie.#not as a person.#but as the show goes on (or as she’s spending time with taissa) she slows down some. quiets. she’s snarkier. holding tension differently.#Hewson starts the performance at an 11 so they can really delve into who Van becomes when the mask is off #when there’s no point in playing the class clown #when it’s like. ah yeah. here’s the kid who grew up too fast.#here’s the kid who’s scared to death. and angry. and willing to fight to live.#it’s not an overacting thing. it’s VAN overacting to keep her secrets #watch the face so you miss what the hands are doing #actors man. actors are fucking cool. storytelling is fucking cool.#deconstructing the illusion is my favorite thing #(anyway still watching servant and it’s still really. Something Else.)

theres something so funny about waking up during the usual time youd sleep....... this is some mtt type sleep schedule bullshit

Ended up finishing Butter ref remake in one sitting so here they are 👍. I also buffed their height a smidge

#keese draws #oc art #oc #ocs #eternal gales #they were only an inch taller than alpha previously and that felt wrong to me #I considered making them even taller but decided against it #7’6 seems reasonable to me. fairly average stalien height #I say that as if a significant chunk of the staliens aren’t not even 7 foot #now tbf two of them are malnourished 16 year olds and the other two are not fully grown and also just shorter than average #sprinkles for example will probably end up about 7’5 as an adult #staliens tend to keep growing til around the 20-25 range #and all of them are teenagers so most of them have plenty of room to grow still #most of them are far past the point of any major growth spurts tho and most will only gain a few inches #a couple will just plain not get taller tho like helmet is tall enough they do not need more height #plus I think if they got any taller their body would just give out lol #but yeah as of current butter is very average height for their age and will likely grow to be about 7’10? which is also pretty average #generally average teen height is around the 7 foot range and average adult height is around the 8 foot range
