Was showing my irls ZXA cause I had shown ZX off before and it was already a trip-my tv fucking broke but that’s a different story-since I haven’t seen the cutscenes in FOREVER but I realized a detail I don’t know how I missed even if no one mentioned it:

There are multiple capsules in Greys room laying face up and the glass is broken, and given Pandora said Grey was going through the mind control sequence, this all but fully confirms the evil mega men we see using the guardian biometals are under mind control and awoke out of these capsules before Grey.

This is information I don’t know how to fucking process.

Playing more ZX and got to the part where they introduce Prometheus and Pandora. All I can think of is the irreparable damage these two would cause to tumblr if this series had been more popular.

You got a pair of siblings who have opposite, but complimentary aesthetics, a foul-mouthed aggressive punk boy, a stoic cold-hearted girl, both with a penchant for causing problems on purpose and having their own agenda with a mysterious, tragic backstory that the games unfortunately didn't get to explore.

I can practically hear the clacking of keyboards from the millions of fanfics from the alternate universe where the ZX series was popular.

ough it bothers me how little information the wiki has on the zx games, like in mega man zero 3 you start the game off by going into a lab in a snowy location. Then in ZX you obtain the second Model P half by traveling to area L, which was said to be an old lab, similar to the one where ciel made model X. which doesnt mean much until ZXA where you go to the scrapyard and are told that this area used to be covered in snow, there are 2 rooms that have L03 and L04 written on the walls, and one of Vulturons attacks uses speakers to prevent you from attacking similar to the satellites in area L of ZX.

Welp, I swallowed my pride and turned on save assist in ZX Advent¹ just long enough to get my first subtank and wouldn't ya know it, I'm enjoying the game a lot more now that I don't feel like I'm made out of wet paper!² I still really miss using Model ZX (and Zero, of course), which I've realized isn't just because of the melee attack but because it can switch freely between ranged and melee attacks (sorry Model H, I love the sabers but I needs me a buster). That being said, Ashe's Model A has been growing on me - her reflect laser charge attack is real nifty!

I was kinda surprised by how quickly you get your first two Mega Man copy transformations, and by how quickly after that you can get the other two (if you pick the right areas to go to once the game starts opening up more). On a related note, I do find it kinda annoying how two of the first three Pseudoroid copy transformations are super clunky to use outside of their specific purpose, and even Buckfire's a bit clunky (though he's at least good for mowing down certain midbosses). Hopefully the later ones are better, but I kinda suspect I'll end up doing what I did in MMZX and mostly just use the protagonist's biometal instead of the ones you unlock³, excluding when the game forces me to do otherwise (which ZXA seems more willing to do than ZX). Which honestly I think I'm fine with at this point, considering how Ashe's playstyle has grown on me.

There's not really any shame in using it - it's basically just a toggle for the lives system - but I'd sworn to myself that I wouldn't use it because I wanted to play the games as I would have on the DS, since I own the original Zero Collection and the ZX games physically, I just never got around to beating ZX or playing ZXA. Ah well, at least I got through all of the Zero series and the first MMZX game without it. I didn't even end up needing it for the Ice Floe area, but it was nice to have as a safety net nonetheless.

... which admittedly tends to be the case for all the handheld Inti Mega Man games, not just this one.

3. ... Model ZX notwithstanding, of course. Once I fight Vent I might be hard pressed to go back to Model A, even if I do like Ashe's charge attack. There's a reason⁴ Zero 3 and 4 are in my top 3 favorite games of all time, and a reason I still like Zero 1 and am willing to put up with Zero 2 despite all their warts, and that's how fucking fun Zero is to control. And since Model ZX is basically just Zero (albeit with no EX-skills and the spinning air slash available from the start), my love for his playstyle extends to that, too.

4. Well, a few reasons, but Zero's playstyle is among the big ones.

Last year I made some Escáloz and Elmet arts using the biomentals from Mega Man ZX biomentals, and now (As part of the Ibis Paint tests), I have decided to do the same with Polaris :D

During today's SDCC panel, Udon Entertainment announced that they have acquired the English publishing rights to Rockman-san, Rockman-chan and Rockman X DiVE Official Complete Works. The three books have ben rechristened as Mr. Mega Man, Little Mega Man and, naturally, Mega Man X DiVE Official Complete Works. Little Mega Man will be out in December, and X DiVE in the second quarter of 2025. No word on Mr.'s release date.

But, wait! There's more. Udon also announced that they are collaborating with Capcom to produce a brand-new art book that will feature a wide array of official art and concept art that hasn't previously been collected in an "Official Complete Works." Content will include Mega Man Legends, Mega Man ZX, ZX Advent and more. Planned for 2025.

As someone whose first Mega Man they 100%'d I always found the rather mixed reviews of ZX Advent to be a bit surprising. Yes, A-trans is a mixed bag as ultimately you're only going to use the Biometals for bulk gameplay and avoid the Pseudoroids until they are necessary, but it's still a cool feeling system.

I dunno, I'd like to see a Mega Man series where the concept of taking shape of the bosses you beat is a thing again.
